> War Thunder: Welcome to Equus' > by The_Equestrian_Emperor > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Battle of Mareway (I) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The moment General Machenwire stepped through the portal, he thought he was gonna die. Of course, he didn't and the portal worked perfectly. Well, almost perfectly. He and his army of 2,000 marched... right into Ocean. So, he called for Destroyers and Heavy Cruisers and he got them, after a larger portal was constructed first, of course. Now he was on his course to what he believed to be the pony land, Equestria. Little did he know, Pegasuses flying around noticed him and his cruisers, and were off to notify the princesses. "And th-th-that's all we know, y-your high-highness!" Stammered Crystal Shine. Celestia took a deep breath. "Alright. You are dismissed. In fact, court is dismissed for now." "And just what do you think you're doing?" Luna asked. She had a stern look on her face. Celestia took a deep breath, and as she did, her features turned back to normal. "Please come with me." Celestia beckoned for Luna to follow. "So what is this matter all about?" Luna asked. Celestia took another deep breath. "Humans, Luna, Humans. I think they're here to... to... to destroy us utterly." Luna's eyes widened in terror. "It's them, correct?" "I'm afraid so." Luna shook her head. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Dammit!" She shook her head. "Dammit, Dammit, DAMMIT!" She then ran off down the hall. Celestia sighed. "Guards! Prepare a meeting with Equestria's allies and officials!" War is coming my little ponies, war. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Stapan, Mokyo Self-defense base Lieutenant Hitoro marched into his General's room. It was a very long time since any excitement every happened around this place, and this was the time to change all of that. However, unknown to Hitoro, this would be anything but exciting. "Sir, an unknown fleet has been spotted at the Equestrian Mareway base! They have asked for reinforcements." General Mitohiga tapped his desk, deep in thought. "Very well, send in a light cruiser to investigate." "Yes sir!" "Oh, and Hitoro?" "Yes sir?" "You're in charge of the ship." "Yes sir!" It was a great honor to captain a ship and Stapan was all about honor, ever since the time of the Stamurais. But there was that slight chance that it would also mean... "And Hitoro? You're promoted to Admiral. Not just because you told me this, but I've wanted to promote you long ago. Your bravery is unrivaled." Hitoro couldn't believe his ears. This was more than he had ever dared to dream of. Captain, sure. But Admiral? "YES SIR!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Aboard the Magahiri... Hitoro breathed in the fresh ocean air. Yes, this is what he always knew his destiny was at. Ever since his cutie mark popped up as a Naval cannon, after all. "Private, see any cruisers on Radar?" "No sir! Wait... I'm getting something..." "What is it?" "It's a landing fleet!" Uh oh... Hitoro thought. The last time they went to war was what? 70 years ago, about? He forgot. But still, he knew landing fleets were never good signs. "Are they preparing to land on Mareway?" "It looks like that, yes." Great. "Ask for reinforcements, destroyers, Celestia knows what!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Aboard the Kaga Helicopter Destroyer... Mitohiga stared into space, deep in thought. What does this mean for Stapan? He thought. Suddenly, his private officer popped into the bridge. "Sir, we're receiving a massive fleet of boats!" Mitohiga's eyes widened. "What?? Which boats? Are there Carriers?" "Our scanners detect about... 2 Carriers, 10 Destroyers, 6 Escort Vessels, and at least 60 landing crafts." "WHAT? My friend, we might have bitten a little more than we can chew." "Uh, sir?" "Yes?" "I think they spotted us." Mitohiga shuddered. "ALL STALLIONS ON DECK! PREPARE THE HELICOPTERS! LAUNCH THE APACHES! GO GO GO!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ General Machenwire looked about the deck. Just as he hoped. No one on this island, no backup, no nothing... "Sir! We've detected a large fleet coming our way!" "What ships?" "2 Destroyers, 5 Escort Vessels, and 1 what seems to be a very wide Aircraft Carrier." Machenwire frowned. "Must be a Helicopter Destroyer. Those are basically Aircraft Carriers, but for Helicopters." "But sir, our fleet should be able to take care of th-" "They got attack helicopters, by the looks of it. Send out the aircraft. Go take care of those helicopters." Another soldier ran up and whispered into the other's ear. "Sir, another fleet is coming!" "WHAT? Where?" "They're flanking us." "My, my, looks like we fell into their little trap." "Sir, the flankers got 2 Carriers as well as 6 Destroyers!" "Then let's go get them. We're not leaving without a fight." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Las Pegasus, Governer's quarters The Governor of Las Pegasus paced around his desk, and was having a heated conversation with Celestia. "We haven't even discussed this yet! This could be absolutely disastrous! Hello? HELLO!? Dammit! She hung up!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "Are you sure about this?" Luna asked. "Yes Luna, I am." Celestia said sternly. "Well then, where do we start?" "We start by sending a fleet to aid the Stapanese, and flanking our enemy. Hopefully we'll be able to defeat them, and end this war quickly." "Yes, yes, but can you please give me clarification on how exactly we plan to defeat their massive fleet?" "Well, here's the plan; they'll spot the Stapanese, then find that they're flanked by our forces, and then attack us, and we'll have backup waiting." "Sounds good, except one thing; you've been quite busy since I've been... gone." Celestia blushed embarrasedly. "Well, you can't expect everything to be the way they were, can you?" Luna shot Celestia a dirty look. "Yeah. Sure." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "Go go go! Leave no-uh, thing alive on the island, full-on takeover! Go go go!" General Machenwire looked over the landing fleet. Perfect... He thought. Just then, a few apaches flew overhead and blasted a few landing crafts to oblivion. Not perfect... He needed complete control of the island, without interruption. "What happened to the aircraft?" he yelled. "Sir, all the aircraft are ready to go!" "THEN SEND THEM!" "Yes sir!" Machenwire shook his head. Imbeciles... he thought. At least his destroyer fleet was doing it's job by destroying the flankers' destroyers. "Sir, our destroyer fleet has been ambushed! Another large fleet has appeared on the radar!" Dammit. > Battle of Mareway(II) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "General." Maschenwire gasped. "Emperor Howard, I did not expect you!" "Ahem. As you know, I have heard reports of your incompetence at sea." "N-n-no sir! I-I have kept the ponies at bay!" They shouldn't have been in the sea in the first place! Are you crazy? WHAT DO THE WORDS DON'T GET CAUGHT MEAN TO YOU, HUH? For your incompetence, I shall have you demoted to Corporal, you hear me? Now I am sending a competent general who won't get himself on the radar! Howard, out. "S-sir! W-wait! SIR! DAMMIT!" Maschenwire slammed his hand on the table. "Stupid, stupid, STUPID!" "General, is there something wrong?" Maschenwire glared at the soldier. "Something wrong. SOMETHING WRONG? I've been shamed, I tell ya, shamed!" "Y-yes sir!" He quickly ran back down the stairs. Maschenwire groaned. This was not his day. But he wondered who would be his replacement? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ General Astern was a strong general, and he believed in the power of stealth attacks. He was proven right by his quick thinking and all of his victories over past enemies. Now, with him standing on the greatest carrier Magnituda had to offer, he was finally ready for his greatest assignment of all; defeat Equestria. He knew exactly where his enemy lay; he had sent drones ahead of time, and submarines as well. Now that he knew where his enemy lay, he drew out a map, based on the photos taken by the machines. Now he had his strategy ready to go. He was gonna call this: Operation Boom and Zoom, mostly because his plan was to send in light crafts and serve as a distraction, and the destroyers would flank the enemy at all sides. And to be sure, he would have them charging at full speed, so if the enemy notices the destroyers would be long gone, and then they would come back and launch submarines to sink more of them, and have aircraft attack the weakened enemy. Yes, he thought this was brilliant! However, his main plan lay way ahead, for he would leave a carrier behind, and once near victory was achieved, he would send in the aircraft into the enemy, who would be thinking that his first wave was his last. Yes, operation Boom and Zoom would be his finest yet. Well, maybe not his finest, but definitely quite fine. "Sir, we are nearing the target!" Excellent. "Send in the light cruisers!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mitohiga was ready for whatever they were gonna throw at him, because he was the "cross the bridge when we come to it" type of guy; the type of guy that doesn't have a plan, ever. But he was certain of victory, as the enemy fleet was sinking below waves and the Equestrian fleet had come as well... "Sir! Emperor Tsuyoshi wishes to speak to you!" "Alright." Hey! How's my great general doing? "Fine, by the looks of it. And I see why they call you the "Easygoing Emperor". Well, I'll take that as a yes. I do assume that all is going well? "I just said- you know what? Never mind. How are you doing back in Mokyo?" I'm doing fine, thank you. I just called to tell you the new planes for the Itsuo Helicopter Destroyer is ready! "Very well. Build them when you're ready." Oh, but I'd like to clarify that the cost of the Itsuo will be almost 6% of our GDP! Including its 2 sister ships, of course. So I'm afraid I'll have to raise taxes for Japan, but I find that very, what's the word... yes, I find it very inefficient. This ship cannot have a more affordable design? "Sir, we need the strongest fortifications for our new ships. Yes it will be expensive, but it will be worth it afterwards, as you can see in our war crisis right now." Yes, yes, you're very right. Well, Arigatō! "And Arigatō to you as well." Nihon o shukufuku! Tsuyoshi over and out. "Well thank Celestia that was over." "Sir, we detect light crafts firing at our boats!" Mitohiga frowned. "Are they mocking us? Send submarines to intercept them!" "Yes sir!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Astern twiddled his fingers. This plan was going smoothly, as always. He noticed a few crafts sinking, but no matter. Sacrifices must be made for success. Now for phase 2. He watched as the Destroyers seemed to appear out of nowhere and fire at the boats. It worked better than expected, with a few boats smoking a little. Now for the subs and aircraft. With their M-35 fighter jets, they zoomed past the enemy boats and blasted them with MI-5 rockets. But then he saw heavily-armed helicopters fly around and actually shoot down a few fighters. Not good. Then he saw them. The Previous fleet was burning, with heavy casualties inflicted by... another enemy fleet! This wasn't good. "Soldiers! Send a few destroyers, submarines, and aircraft to destroy the backup enemy! Go!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Captain Grate wasn't what you called experienced. However, he wasn't what you called incompetent, either. He was determined, strong, and wasn't ever gonna give up, even if you tell him he's gonna lose. If you do tell him that, he'd say "Aww, heavens no!", because he's a stallion as strong and honorable as a Stamurai. And that was why he was hoofpicked by Princess Celestia for the defense fleet. "Sir, a small assorted fleet is attacking!" Grate gave his soldier a determined smile. "Then let's show them not to mess with Equestria! Blast them with our pegasi and guns! Give them all we got!" The soldier gave a brilliant smile. "Sir yes sir!" "That's the spirit!" *BOOM* Grate grinned. "Boom, boom, BOOM!" A bunch of naval cannon fire followed. Then he saw them; the massive fleet of aircraft that flew overhead. It seemed like they wanted to blot out the sun. Then, he saw his first casualty. The soldier who told him the fleet was attacking limped up. He looked terrible, with blood flowing out of his head, back and chest. He had his hoof on his chest and was hanging on the railing for support. A comrade came forward to help him hold his arm. Well, what used to be his arm. What was left was a stump hanging, with disgusting yellow-ish flesh covered in blood. It made Grate want to vomit. "S-s-sir..." the soldier trailed. "Yes?" worry shook Grate's voice. "T-t-the enemy is k-k-killing all of u-u-us..." The soldier rolled his eyes into his head and flopped on the floor in a heap. Grate looked on his fallen comrade, tears in his eyes. Equestria had not faced war in many years, and didn't hope for one now. This, Grate thought, was the first time he saw a victim of war. With tears in his eyes, in a rage-filled cry, Grate yelled, "M-my friends, I will avenge you all!!" > Battle of Mareway(III) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Astern's plans never fail. Or maybe they never failed because the enemies' commanders just sucked. At least, that was what he was thinking right now, because his destroyers were sinking below the waves, attacked by the enemy backup. He had NOT prepared for this. However, right now it was going quite balanced because his fighters managed to sink a enemy carrier. "Sir, I-" "Not now Officer, I'm focused on the battle." "It's Petty Officer 1st Class, my name is Max, and also, we lost a Carrier." "I - I DON'T CARE IF YOUR A PETTY OFFICER DAMN CLASS, ALL I CARE NOW IS THAT WE LOST A CARRIER AND WE'RE LOSING, YOU GOT THAT???!!!" Max flinched. "Erm..." He slowly backed out of the room. Astern took a deep breath. "I'm sorry officer, I'm just in a tight corner and I'm stressed." "It's fine." "No it's not." Max just had time to raise his brow before Astern threw a punch at him. Fortunately for Max, he was a skilled fighter, and he evaded all Astern's attacks. "Sir, you have 2 seconds to walk away from this fight." "Okay." Astern took a step backward. "Okay." Just then, an Stapanese Apache swooped down and shot 2 Tartarus-class missiles at the bridge. "Ganbarou surviving that one!" The pilot then hovered back up and terrorized the carrier some more. "General! Are you alright?" No answer. "Please don't scare me, I ask again, are you alright?" No answer. "Oh god." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Captain Grate, seeing the death of his comrade, was furious. "LET'S BLOW THOSE IDIOTS TO FREAKIN' TARTARUS AND BEYOND!" he shouted. A series of missiles and bangs followed. The enemy fleet was defeated, and they knew it. At least, that's what the Equestrians thought. What they didn't know was the fleet behind them coming in full speed, from the attack earlier on the Stapanese fleet. *KRAKKK* "Sir, we got a hole in our ship!" "Can't we patch it up?" "No sir, the hole is over our limits! We're going down!" "Then let's have those bastards come to Tartarus with us." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ General Mitohiga frowned. "But Tsuyoshi, you realize that by keeping our troops in battle, we may have heavy losses?" Mitohiga, do you understand, honor is of most importance? By surrendering, we will have shown our fathers great shame and disrespect. We, Stapanese, will stand honorable until the end! Mitohiga smiled, even if it was a tiny one. "Yes sir." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Emperor Tsuyoshi. Oh, the great Emperor of Stapan, him being the Emperor of one of the mightiest empires to ever rule. And yet, here he was, almost letting his cowardice take over his pride as a Stapanese pony, even if not showing it. He sighed. He could never be like his father. Or his grandfather. "Oh Tsuyoshi, are you calling yourself weak again?" Oh Celestia... Tsuyoshi thought. How in Tartarus could his wife read his mind like that? He found it shuddering to think about. "Yes, I have." "Tsuyoshi, you aren't weak, and you know that. Remember your great victories?" "You mean during the Equestrian Invasion? Yeah, we held them back for some time. Key word being held them back, not defeating them and sending them to Tartarus to chew on their hooves. Come on, you think I'm a brave warrior? I just completed my Stamurai training when I led my army." Ami frowned. "You may underestimate yourself, but I see great power in your future." She then turned around and left. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Luna walked into her sister's private study. "Sister? I have some bad news." "I heard." "Oh really? And would you mind telling me what that is?" "Yes." "Well, that was... unexpected." Celestia took a deep breath. "Luna? I want to show you something. Something I should have shown you long ago." Luna raised a brow. "Is it about the great Equestrian-Stapanese war? I've studied on that, and I noticed you built up quite the force back then. The records indicate the Stapanese barely held up a defense, yet you signed a peace treaty?" "No, It's about World War 2." Luna frowned. "World War? 2???" "Yes. World War 2. I might as well explain everything." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "You're almost as bad as me when I was Nightmare Moon." "Why thank you." Celestia pointed to a historical photo. "That, is what you call a heavy battleship." "Ah yes, being able to fire 500mm bullets over a distance of 42km is quite impressive." Luna pointed to another photo. "Pray tell, what is that one supposed to represent?" "Luna's Harbour." "Luna's Harbour?" Luna shook her head. "You never told me about this." 'That's because it was blown up by Stapanese fighters." "I trust there has been rebuilding efforts?" "Yes." Luna gave a nod. "Good. In any circumstances this would be irrelevant but right now the rebuilding of Luna's Harbour is useful for the war." "Yes it is." "You think so?" "Yes." "You seem glum. May you please tell me how so?" Celestia took a deep breath. "I-I don't want to talk about it." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 2 days later... "Victory in Mareway! Read all about it! Victory in Mareway! Read all about it!" "Boo." "Huh?" Suddenly, a pony jumped out of the shadows. "MMM! MM-" *THUNK* ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In Radish, Magnituda "Yes sir, the X-2000 aircraft is ready." Emperor Howard looked around. "You sure the meddling ponies aren't here and listening to the radio?" "No sir." "Good. Then send the rockets to Equestrian space. Our next attack will be on Luna's Harbour."
