It was a hot summer day and Applejack was in the field doing her chores like she does everyday. Applejack was gasping for air when she looked at the thermometer. It was 103 degrees outside. She didn't want to take a break, she just wanted to get it done and over with.
She kept doing her chores. The heat was slowing her every move, forcing her to go slower and slower. She just wanted to go back in her house with the air conditioning on, but something was stopping her from doing that. Maybe it was her inability to move or maybe she just wanted to work until she got her chores done.
She couldn't make up her mind. She finally made up her mind, that she would keep on working. But when she started, she suddenly collapsed. She couldn't move. She tried asking for help, but she was so dehydrated that her voice was a whisper. She needed water, food, rest or anything that could help her get back up.
Suddenly, she saw Big Macintosh in the field. She crawled to Big Mac. She crawled as if she were doing dead legs. Applejack's legs skid across the dirt, giving her blisters. She wanted to shout out in pain but she couldn't even if she tried. Applejack finally caught Big Mac's attention. Big Mac was shocked to see Applejack in pain.
"A.J are you okay." Big Mac shouted.
He knew the answer but he wasn't sure if that was the answer he was looking for. He carried Applejack before anything else could happen to her. As he carried her, the heat began to rise. He went slower and slower as the heat slowly drained his energy. He was going slower every hoof step he took.
He finally made it...to the south orchard he had a ways to go. He still had the west and the north orchard before he could make to the house. He just wanted to just go under a tree so he could rest, but it was getting hotter by the minute, and not to mention Applejack was on his back which was making it worse.
Big Mac was struggling. He had never felt so weak before. He just wanted to quit. But he couldn't. His sister was suffering, Big Mac was suffering as well. At least he has the capacity to keep up his strength. Not that he saying his sister is weak. He is just saying that his sister is not as strong as him.
He suddenly saw somepony standing in the middle of the field. He was never so happy to see somepony in the apple orchard. Normally if he saw a stranger he'd ether ask them politely to leave, or if they refused he would kick them out literally kick them out.
"Hey! We need help. It's my sister, she's overheating." Big Mac shouted.
But he was sadly wrong when he thought he saw somepony. Instead of seeing a pony, he was seeing a scarecrow instead. He groaned and just went on. He finally made it when he collapsed on the ground. Big Mac got back up and gently set Applejack on the couch. He grabbed a bucket of water and splashed it on Applejack.
She suddenly woke up from the heat coma. Big Mac quickly gave Applejack a water bottle. Applejack guzzled the water down like she was in a cider drinking contest.
"Thanks big brother. I don't think I would have survived if you hadn't shown up" Applejack said.
"Eeyup" Said Big Mac.
Applejack wobbled over to the kitchen to get an ice pack. She went back to the couch, put the ice pack on her head and rested. She didn't wake up until the very next morning.
It was the next morning and when Applejack woke up she saw a big breakfast platter sitting on a portable table.
"This is for you Applejack you deserve it." Apple Bloom said.
"We would have lost you if we hadn't sent Big Mac to help find you." Apple Bloom continued.
Applejack blushed. She had never felt so loved in her entire life.
"Come on everypony, group hug."Said Applejack
Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith all joined in the hug. Soon the hug broke free and they all left Applejack to eat her breakfast. As she was eating her breakfast she heard a knock at the door. She got up to answer the door.
When she opened the door she saw Pinkie Pie standing on her front porch.
"Howdy Pinkie Pie, need something."Applejack said
Pinkie Pie smiled as usual. She took a long breath for what she was about to say
"Hey Applejack! I was wondering if you wanted to go on a hot air balloon later on today." Said Pinkie Pie.
"That would be nice Pinkie." Applejack replied.
"GREAT!!! We'll meet at 2:00 p.m." Pinkie Pie said.
Soon Pinkie Pie left Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack couldn't wait for the hot air balloon ride. Before she went out to work she checked the temperature. It was better. It was 75 degrees outside. Perfect for apple bucking. As she walked outside she saw a cake in the field.
The cake read "Glad you feel better"
Applejack blushed again. And went on to do her work. When she bucked her first apple tree she felt that she could buck forever. She bucked over here, over there, and everywhere. She took a break here and there but it would only be for about 2 minutes. She was glad to be herself again. At about 12:00 she had lunch.
She bucked apples for another half hour and headed off for Sugar Cube Corner.
Applejack met Pinkie at Sugar Cube Corner. Applejack was ready for the excitement. She went up to the counter where Mrs.Cake was standing there running the cash register.
"Howdy Mrs.Cake, have you seen Pinkie Pie." Applejack said looking all happy.
"Sure. She's upstairs." Said Mrs.Cake.
Applejack nodded her head in a thankful way. She went upstairs and found Pinkie grabbing some bits for the ride. Pinkie turned around and saw Applejack standing behind her. Pinkie was happy.
"Hey Applejack, are you ready for the hot air balloon ride." Pinkie said.
Applejack was about to replied when Pinkie blurted out.
"Of course you are ready. I bet you were so exited that you just could't wait to get done with your work!"
Applejack nodded and then they left Sugar Cube Corner. When they went to the hot air balloon stand they saw Berry Punch standing there waiting for customers.
"We'd like to rent the balloon please" Said Applejack
Berry Punch nodded
"That'll be five bits" Berry Punch replied.
Pinkie brought out the bits she was carrying in her saddle pack.
"Thank you and have a nice time" Berry Punch said.
Pinkie Pie and Applejack both got in the balloon and then they were off in the sky. First they went up 5 feet, then 9 feet, then 15 feet, then 20 feet. They kept on going higher until they reached 60 feet in the sky. At that point they were already above the clouds.
"WOW! What an amazing view." Pinkie shouted.
Uh Pinkie, you do realize were above the clouds...you can't really see anything." Said Applejack
Pinkie paused for a moment.
"Oh Yeah, silly me." Pinkie replied.
They went on with the journey. They almost crashed into a couple of mountains, but they got the hang on it. Pinkie brought a scrap book just like she did when they went on the family road trip, to keep all the memories of the ride. Pinkie was lucky enough to see some mountain frogs and some three headed dogs.
A few moments later there was a gust of wind. Applejack was glad to have some wind around. She didn't want to get a heat coma again. The wind blew more and more, but it started to get out of hand. The wind blew harder and harder. In fact it blew so hard that it started blowing them everywhere.
Then it got out of control. It blew them so fast and sent them flying into the air. The force was so hard that it blew a centimeter of Pinkies hair off. It sent them into a river of water, where they were knocked out cold.
Pinkie Pie and Applejack soon awoke. As they woke up they saw mysterious ponies with mysterious masks on. They were startled at the sight. Nobody moved for about 10 seconds, then the leader comes out. The leader looks at them for a while and then turns to speak.
"You have come to the land of Chaos Island. Also Know as The Land In The Sky" Says the leader
The leader takes off her mask and reveals an pale orange face with purple eyes. She looks at them for a while. Pinkie and Applejack realized that she was waiting for a response. Finally Applejack stood up and responded.
"We were on a hot air balloon ride and then we crash landed here...I guess" Applejack responded.
"We don't mean any harm...it was an accident." Pinkie Says.
The leader begins to speak.
"My name is Avalanche, and this is my tribe." Said The Leader.
"I'm Applejack and this is Pinkie Pie" Said Applejack.
"Follow us." Avalanche said.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie followed Avalanche to a mysterious castle. The castle looked like it hadn't been touched in years, but apparently it belongs to Avalanche. Applejack and Pinkie Pie kept following them until they came to a quick stop.
"Welcome to my kingdom travelers. You are welcome to stay as long as you want." Said Avalanche.
"Thank you Avalanche. We are grateful." Applejack replied.
"Guards!" Avalanche shouted.
"Take these travelers to there rooms."
"Yes ma'am" One of the guards said.
So the guards took Applejack and Pinkie Pie to there rooms. When they got to there rooms, a horrible stench went into there nostrils. They wanted to ask what that horrible smell was, but they didn't want to be rude. They saw that the guard had no problem with the smell, but to Applejack and Pinkie Pie, they thought it smelled like rotten fish and old boots.
Finally Pinkie spoke up.
"Uh what is that smell sir." Pinkie asked.
"It's the smell of the three thousand year old castle." The guard said.
"Oh, okay." Pinkie replied.
Later on Pinkie and Applejack walked down to Avalanche. They wanted to ask her something. So they went down stairs to Avalanche's throne.
"Do you need something." Avalanche asked.
"Yes, we want to know how you originated from this island and how you got and how you got all these guards." Applejack said.
Avalanche paused for a moment.
"Well you see...I used to be an adventurer like you... but, then I took an arrow in the knee."
"What?" Applejack and Pinkie Pie said.
"What I mean is that I liked to explore equestria, but then I was caught trespassing in a war camp in Saddleurabia. They tried to kill me, but i luckly got away. and they have been looking for me ever since." Avalanche explained.
Suddenly there was a call from the guards.
"Queen Avalanche barbarians are standing outside the castle walls." The guard said.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie looked out the window and saw hundreds of thousands of barbarians.
"Uh Avalanche are those ponies part of the war camp you mentioned." Applejack asked.
"Yes, It seems that they have found me, but how." Avalanche said.
"Well maybe it the tracking device in the room we have" Pinkie said.
"What!" Avalanche shouted.
"Yeah, while the guard showed us to our room, I spotted something flashing under the bed, so I took a sneak peek and saw a tracking device." Pinkie Explained.
Avalanche kept pacing back and forth trying to figure out how the tracking device got there. Then she looked at one of the guards. She saw something on him that she has never noticed before. He had a scar on his left hind hoof. Avalanche looked out of the window and saw that each and every soldier had a scar on there left hind hoofs.
Avalanche knew at once that one of the guards was a spy. She went to Pinkie Pie and Applejack.
"Go get the guard on the right and tell him to arrest the captain guard" Avalanche whispered.
Oh and tell him that I told you to tell him" She continued.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie went over to the guard and told him the whole story about the captain being a spy.
The guard went over to the captain and put cuffs on the guards hooves.
"Sir you are arrested for being a spy and will be put in the dungeon for the rest of your life." Said the guard.
"Wait how did you know I was a spy" The spy said.
"Well if you look on all the other soldiers they have the same scar on there left hind hoof." The guard said.
The spy just grunted and was taken to the dungeon. Avalanche was happy to see one of her guards to seek justice for once because there are almost never intruders.
"Thank you both for finding out how the soldiers from the war camp found me, but I'm afraid there is no time to talk. We must get you home before you ponies get killed." Avalanche said.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie followed Avalanche to the secret escape door. Before Avalanche opened the door she told them how to escape.
"Okay at the end of the battlefield there are hot air balloons were the enemies landed. Carefully sneak through the soldiers and get in one of the balloons." Avalanche said.
"Have a safe trip and we wish you all good luck." Avalanche continued
Pinkie and Applejack both nodded there heads and went out the door.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie raced out of the door watching out for soldiers.They both dodged soldiers who tried to swing at them. They ran as fast as they possibly could and finally made it to a balloon. They quickly unwrapped the anvil it was tied to the balloon and went off back to ponyville.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie finally made it back to ponyville. The GPS that was installed in the balloon was really helpful. When they came back there was a sign saying to go to Sugar Cube Corner. Applejack and Pinkie Pie were curious on why there was a sign saying that they had to go to Sugar Cube Corner.
As they got to Sugar Cube Corner the lights were off. When Applejack turned on the lights they all heard a big "SURPRISE!" from all of there friends welcoming them back from there long adventure. Applejack and Pinkie Pie were never so happy to see there friends well maybe only Applejack. They really had a good time.
