Chapter#1 The Beginning
PRELUDE
"Princess Celestia you ask to see me??"
Twilight Sparkle trotted towards her former mentor with an eager bounce. She was called upon by Princess Celestia for something very important.
"Thank you for coming twilight sparkle"
Celestia smiled, her pastel rainbow hair whipping around perfectly.
"What is it that you needed to talk to me about," Twilight asked, hoping it was nothing serious. Celestia's smile turned into a stern pout.
"Now that your a princess yourself, there is something you must know about how me and Luna became ruler's of Equestria,"
"But I read every book of Equestria that I could find in the canterlot archives,"
Twilight replied quickly with a questioning gaze.
"What i'm about to tell you is a secret matter, " Celestia cleared her throat, "There are some memories twilight that our best preserved far from the public archives"
Twilight shot a puzzled look towards her friend, "But Princess Celestia.. if we don't learn from our past, aren't we doomed to repeat it?"
Celestia sighed, "Yes that is what we are going to be talking about. Twilight, you must learn from my past mistakes. What i'm about to tell you is the real story of how the war of Equestria began"
Chapter One: The Beginning
1000 Year's Ago
Long ago in the magical land of Equestria, 100 years before the events of Discord, sombra and nightmare moon. It was the time when the three pony tribes where getting along perfectly until everything changed when one Pegasus and one Unicorn got married and had three children. The offspring of the Unicorn and Pegasus were different from the other pony races, they had both wings and horns. The parent's asked Star Swirl the Bearded what to make of this, and he sensed powerful magic inside them. 5 days later Star Swirl named this new type of pony race and he called them the Alicorn's.
6 years later
The three Alicorn's are now foals age, and their names are Celestia, Luna, and Draco. They are still the only known Alicorns to exist in Equestria. They are taught by their master Star Swirl the Bearded, who teaches them how to learn magic while their mother teaches them how to fly
The Alicorns were able to learn very fast, so fast that the Sisters had mastered all the magic and flying skills they had been taught. Draco was not quite as mastered as his older sisters, but all three were taught combat skills encase they ever needed to defend themselves since other ponys might be afraid of this new breed. Draco was not satisfied with his teachings, and he wanted to learn more. There were skills that his sister's already had mastered that he had not even started yet. He was devastated when his master Star Swirl the Bearded told him he was not ready yet.
Draco had ran away that day, angry that he was not progressing in his teachings. When he returned home he saw Luna and Celestia looking at something with somber eyes. When his eyes reached to what his sister's were looking at, his heart stopped. He saw his mother laying in a pool of her own blood. She had been brutally attacked and left for dead. In a fit of rage Draco took off to find his mother's attacker but was stopped by his two sisters.
"Let Me GO!!!" Yelled Draco.
"Getting yourself killed won't bring her back," Celestia cried out.
Celestia and luna held Draco in a tight hug, the three siblings sobbed together until their farther and Star Swirl found them
Several days had passed, it was the morning of the Alicorns mother's funeral. Every pony came to the funeral of Wildfire, the pegasus. This was the last time the siblings would be together as a family. Draco ran away after the funeral, but this time he did not return. He ran so far that he had came to a place he had never seen before. He found himself wandering into a dark forest, which would be known as the everfree forest 100 years later.
As he was walking alone in the dark cold forest he came about a strange wolf like creature, but this creature was different from the wolves he had seen before. These creatures had large green eyes and were three times the size of normal wolves but their skin looked as if it was made from a tree branch.
Draco assumed this was going to be his end as he thought about his sisters and farther, and the fact that he may never see them again. He thought his combat skills could never defeat such strong creatures, but then something had awoken inside of him. In a fearful rage he destroyed almost all the creaturs, leaving the survivors to run off.
"So this is my true power"
Draco whispered under his breath as he glanced at the bodies of the timber wolves.
"Is this why Star Swirl would not teach me any more? Was he actually afraid of my powers,"
Draco said out loud, examining his front hooves.
Draco spent many weeks in the forest, testing the strength of his powers daily. He started to go mad from his solitude, and this madness began to warp his mind. One day he saw a little rat running along the floor of the forest. As soon as Draco's eyes laid upon this small creature he used his magic to crush the rat, blood and guts flying in the air. The poor animal lying like an exploded balloon. After killing the little rat he then begin to eat it like a wolf eating a dead sheep.
The rodent was not enough to fill his hunger so he began to walk even farther into the forest hoping to find something bigger to fill his belly. While walking he stumbled upon something that seemed out of place with the rest of the wooded area. He did not realize he had stumbled upon ancient ruins from 100 years prior. As he walked in the ruins gate's he noticed a cave right by the west hall. His once cautious self was gone as he trotted with ease into the dark cave. Inside the cave he came across an odd looking tree. This tree had six peculiar looking gems placed in the bark.
"What is this place?"
He questioned to himself. As he got closer to the tree he could feel a magical presence emerging from the the gems.
"What power this tree must have,"
Draco then tried to take the gems hoping to gain even more power for him self. As he went to grab the gems he was jolted back by a magic shield blocking the tree. He got up to find his father Moonrise and his former master Star Swirl the bearded standing in front of him.
"Son what are you doing?"
Moonrise asked with scared confusion.
"Put down the shield. I need the gems"
Draco shouted at his father.
"I am afraid you have seen to much,"
Star Swirl spoke sternly before knocking out Draco with a sleep spell. Star Swirl then turned to Draco's father.
"Moonrise, he can not know about the elements. Especially since he has begun using his power for evil."
"I understand,"
Moonrise replied in agreement.
The Next Day
"Draco are you ok"
Celestia hovered over her brother seeing if he had woken up.
"Sis is that you,"
He asked, rubbing his eyes to help him see.
"Yes, it is so good to see you again brother"
She cried out giving Draco a hug before asking,
"What happened?"
"I don't remember,"
Draco shrugged, trying to remember the events from the day before. He looked to his sister and asked,
"Celestia where is farther?"
"He left with master Star Swirl to meet with Griffons up north,"
Celestia whispered.
Draco then began to remember what happened the day before.
"I see"
He replied with an annoyed tone. Celestia then looked at her brother with a worried expression as he began to get angrier.
"Draco are you alright"
She asked fearfully
"Yeah why,"
his tone was dry.
"Well you look angry,"
She replied bluntly, hoping this would not upset him more.
"Well i'm not. Anyways where is Luna,"
He asked looking around the room.
"She is outside. Why?"
"Maybe we could play a game like old times. Could use a good game of buck ball."
"Really,"
Celestia questioned with a surprise glance.
"Yes, come one let's go,"
Draco smiled at his sister.
Meanwhille up north, Moonrise and Star Swirl arrive at Griffon stone to meet up with king Gnula for an importing meeting.
"Ah, Moonrise and Star Swirl the Bearded, glad you made the trip. What news do you bring to me now,"
Asked the griffin king as he looked at Moonrise and Star Swirl with a greedy smile.
"Lord gnula we come with some important news from the south,"
Star Swirl spoke with a serious tone.
"Go on,"
said the king.
Star Swirl cleared his throught before beginning to speak.
"We want your help in finding who killed Moonrise's wife, the beloved Wildfire."
"I see,"
said the great griffin king with a greedy smile.
"My griffins will help you find the bastard who did this, if I can get something in return."
"We can give you the chest of lake Ledora, and all the riches it hold. "
Said Star Swirl with a proud grin.
"Perfect,"
The griffin king laughed with excitement.
