Chapter 1: To Canterlot and beyond


“Boring... It’s boring!” He thought.

Did he regret what he had done? No, he didn’t. It was his nature to do these things. Everything he had done...it was his destiny. However it hurt...Not the fact that he was trapped in here, but the fact that She had still ignored him. After all he had done...just to attract her attention.
No, not only to attract her attention, but...he had hoped she would at least...face him...But she had just sent her friends...He had been disappointed, but what was he expecting? After all those years...She obviously had done her best to forget him. And she had succeeded.

“Maybe...maybe she didn’t want to face me...because she thought...it would bring back old feelings...”

He sighed.

“Bah...She will never return my love...She never did...”

(Author's note: This will fit perfectly.)

If he was he still out there he would cry now, but trapped inside...he could just think of crying. He would give a lot to just get another chance.
Then it happened. He saw it coming moments before it actually happened. At first just, a thin crack. Then it got bigger and bigger until the shell broke apart.

“Could it be...am I...free again?”

Switch to Xenos

It was a clouded day. Clouded and rainy... I liked it.
I had just woken up and had looked out of the window.

“What a nice view to wake up with...” I thought.

I wasn’t referring to the weather...I was referring to a certain lavender mare, sleeping next to me on the bed.
It’s been nearly a month since our little adventure in the void...and the little adventure that happened afterwards. I smirked at that thought.
Twilight and I were in a relationship for quite some time now and still...every kiss felt, like it was the first. It was love. It was just love...
The funny thing was that nopony seemed to notice what was going on. Well, except for Spike and Rarity, but we made them promise not to tell anything. Not that we were ashamed or something. We just wanted our privacy. I knew I could trust Spike, but I wasn’t sure if I could trust Rarity. Twilight said we could trust her, but Rarity was known as the biggest gossip of Ponyville.
I looked at Twilight again. Her mane was in a mess...A beautiful, sapphire blue mess. She was still asleep.

“You deserve some sleep. After all it had been an exhausting night...”

I smirked again.

I finally stood up, and went into the kitchen. I thought it would be nice if I brought Twi (I can call her Twi now!) some breakfast. So I made a daisy sandwich and went back into the bedroom.
When I looked at the bed, I saw that my favourite lavender mare was already awake. She looked tired and was still covered into the blanket.

“Good morning, Twi.” I smiled.

She rubbed her eyes and smiled back.

“That certainly was a tiring night...” She mumbled, with a slight smile on her face.

“How about some good morning snuggling? I asked grinning.

She lifted the lower part of the blanket, seductively revealing her flank.

“That’s what you want?” She gave me a naughty look.

I blushed and looked to the ground.

“Damnit!”

Actually I wanted to remain cool and behave like a pimp, but she always made me blush.

I lay down next to her.

“Care for some breakfast.” I asked.

“Oh, that’s sweet of you.” She smiled.

I leaned my head against her neck.

“Xenos...Don’t you think we should tell them about our relationship. I mean it’s been a month and this was the fifth time I slept with you...At least we could tell the girls.” She stated.

I sighed.

“I guess you’re right...You tell Fluttershy, AJ, Pinkie, and Rainbow and I’ll tell the Doctor and Ditzy, okay?”

She nodded, then looked at me again with a smile.

“Ready for...another round?” She said seductively.

“Don’t blush, don’t blush, don’t blush!”

I blushed.

“Damnit!”

Suddenly someone knocked at the window. Twilight shrieked and quickly covered her flank with the blanket. I looked out of the window. Ditzy was flying there, wearing her mailmare hat.

“Hellooo, Xenos? Twilight? Anyone theeeere?”

I opened the window and let the grey Pegasus in.

“What’s up Ditzy?” Twilight asked.

Her face was still red.

“I got some mail for you. Her you go.” She said, and pulled out a letter.

I grabbed it with my magic and looked at the address...

“Uhm...Ditzy? This letter is for a Pony named Bon-Bon...”

“Oh! Woopsie. This is your letter.” She pulled out another letter from her saddlebag.

“Must be something important...” I thought when I looked at the fancy envelope.

“I’ll better be going now. Still got loads of mail to deliver.” Ditzy said with a smile and headed for the window.

“Wait!” I called. “What’s with you and the Doc now? Did the date go well?” I asked.

Ditzy just giggled, then took off into the clouds.

“Okaaaay, that was strange...” Twilight said from behind. “What’s this letter about, anyway?”

I opened the envelope. Inside, there was a message, written on fine paper. I started reading.

“Dear Xenos,

Your art has gained a lot of popularity during the last month. That’s why I would like to invite you to...”

I stopped.

“What? Invite you to what?” Twilight asked curiously.

“...invite you to THE CANTERLOT ART EXHIBITION!!!”

“Oh, that’s wonderful.” Twilight cheered.

I continued:

“There you can show your art to Equestria’s high society and meet other artists.

Yours sincerely,

Princess Celestia...”

I was stunned. It was like a dream. I was famous. I was buckin’ famous!!! I looked at Twilight. She gave me a bright smile. I loved her.

“There is a reservation for two in the Canterlot Grand Hotel in it.”

WHAM!

“THE CANTERLOT ART EXHIBITION?!”

“Oh hell no...”

Rarity had just busted into the house.

“How on earth?”

“Of course I will accompany you. No, you don’t have to thank me.” The glamorous mare said.

“Uhm...actually, I wanted to go there with...Twilight.” I pointed at my favourite unicorn.

“Bu- but, you simply CAN’T go there without me. You have no idea about high society. You will make a fool of yourself.” Rarity babbled.

“Thanks for your motivating words...” I thought sarcastically.

“Rarity, look...This would be like a holiday. A holiday I actually wanted to spend together with Twilight...alone.”

Rarity looked at me with pitiful eyes.

“That doesn’t work on me...”

She still looked at me the same way.

“Oh, come on!”

Then, suddenly, a great idea came to my mind.

“You can come with us...”

Her face brightened

“IF...!”

She looked confused.

“If you take a separate room together with...SPIKE!”

Rarity looked uncertain, but then frowned.

“Fine, I agree. Spike and I will share a room with Spike.”

“AAAAAWWW YEEEAAAAH!”

“HOW?”

Spike had just entered the house.

“How is that even possible???”

“Could we all just settle down for a moment? Or is there anypony else who wants to join us now?” I said angrily.

“Greetings Xenos.” Doctor Whooves said.

“OH, COME ON!”

Eventually I managed to get everything under control. Me and Twilight were going to Canterlot. Rarity and Spike were joining us. And Doctor Whooves just appeared wanting to pay me a visit.

“When is the exhibition?” Twilight asked curiously.

“It’s in three days. I suggest we take the train.” I answered.

“It’s a deal, then!” Rarity said. “I will pack my bags right away.”

“Calm down, Rarity. There are three days to the exhibition. No need to hurry.” I said.

“Darling, you have no idea how long it takes for a LADY, to pack her back.” Rarity said snobbishly

I just rolled my eyes.
Finally everypony left my house and I was alone with Twilight again.
She smiled at me.

“I’m so happy for you.”

I was happy for myself too. That was my break through. The kind of success every artist dreamt of.
Twilight walked up to me and gave me a long, intensive kiss.

“I think you deserve a reward, for your success.” She said with a naughty smile.

Then she slowly walked  back into the bedroom...

“Gawd, I love her.” I thought.

Then I followed her into the bedroom...

Chapter 2: To Canterlot and beyond


We were waiting at the Ponyville train station. The train would depart in five minutes.

“Where are Rarity and Spike? They’re missing the train.” Twilight moaned.

Rarity was, in fact, late. We had arranged to meet at the train station at 12 o’ clock, but now it was half an hour later.

“I guess we’ll have to leave without them.”

Then I suddenly spotted a glamorous white mare in the crowd of waiting Ponies. And I heard her...

“Hurry up, Spike. I don’t want to miss the train because of you dallying.” She nagged.

I rolled my eyes. Then I saw Spike slowly crawling towards us, and I saw why:
He was carrying a pile of heavy bags. It was obvious what was going on.

“Rarity, do you really think you’ll need all that stuff? I mean we’re just staying there for like three days...” I asked.

“Oh, Darling, you have no idea what a LADY needs.”

I sighed.

“What is it, that makes my little dragon friend be so madly in love with her?” I asked myself.

The train whistled.

“Hurry now, or otherwise we’ll miss it.” I commented.

“Hhhhhelp...me...” Spike wheezed.

I sighed again.
Then I used my magic to lift the bags off his back and carried them into the train. Eventually we managed to get onto the train and found our compartments. Then the train departed...
I lay down on my seat. Finally some time to relax. I looked out of the window and watched the scenery pass by. I noticed Twilight, placing herself next to me, leaning her head against my shoulder.

“This is going to be beautiful...” She mumbled.

She rubbed her head against my head.

“Xenos...I was thinking...” Twilight suddenly spoke up. “I think, you should meet my family...”

“What?!”

“I mean we’re together for about a month now... Don’t you think...they should know about us?”

I wasn’t sure. Of course they had the right to know about their relationship. They were her parents.

“Fine, you’re right.” I sighed. “We probably got some time before the exhibition starts, so we can visit them then.”

Twilight smiled and kissed me on the cheek. Then she snuggled against my side and started dozing. I felt my face turning red and smiled. Her fur was soft and warm. I kissed her on the forehead and rested my head on her flank.

“Eeyup...It IS going to be beautiful.” I smiled.

Then I closed my eyes and tried to sleep a little.

...

The train conductor woke me up.

“Arriving at Canterlot train station in a few minutes.” He announced.

I blinked...

“Hey...Twilight...time to get up...”

I heard her chuckle.

“I already woke up half an hour ago, sleepyhead.” She giggled.

I stood up, stretched my legs and yawned.

“I better go and look after Spike and Rarity.” I said and left the compartment.

When I entered theirs I nearly “d’aaaaaw”ed at the adorable sight.

Rarity lay on her seat, while Spike, curled up like a cat, snuggled against her belly. They both were asleep.

“Wake up you little love-birds.” I joked.

Rarity slowly opened her eyes, noticed Spike, shrieked, and pushed the little dragon off the bench. He landed ruggedly on the floor.

“Oh my, Spike I’m sorry.” She apologized. “You nearly scared me to death.

“It’s...ouch...okay.” He mumbled.

Rarity turned to me.

“Have we arrived already?” She asked with a dizzy voice.

“Almost.” I responded. “I’ll better leave you two alone now.” I said with knowing smile.

“Wait! What? No it’s not...” Rarity stammered, but I already left their compartment.

“Revenge!” I thought with a winning grin.

Finally we stopped at the station. We took our luggage and exited the train. The view was amazing. Canterlot really deserved to be the capital of Equestria.
Twilight noticed me staring at the city.

“Pretty impressive, huh?” She smiled.

“y- yeah...” I stammered.

We walked through the city to find our hotel. I noticed that there were mostly unicorns in the streets. We eventually reached the Canterlot Grand Hotel and checked in. Our rooms were on the second floor. We used the magic elevator to get up there.

“So, Twilight Darling, I will get myself ready for the exhibition, and you?”

“Xenos and I are going to visit my parents. Right, Xenos?”

“...yeah...” I grumbled.

“I should have never agreed to that.”

“Have fun.” Rarity chirped then disappeared into her room.

Spike followed her, with a big grin on his face.

“Thanks...” He whispered when he passed me.

We left our luggage in the room, then headed for Twilight’s parent’s home.

After we knocked at the door, a blue stallion opened the door. It was Twilight’s dad. His face immediately brightened up.

“Twilight, what are you doing in Canterlot. What a lovely surprise.” He said.

Then he noticed me.

“And who’s that?” He asked curiously.

“Can we...talk about that inside, maybe?” Twilight asked.

“Uhm...okay...” He answered with an inquiring look on his face.

When we entered the living room we were greeted by Twilight’s Mom and...Shining Armor! They looked surprised.

“Look who’s here.” Twilight’s dad said happily.

“Oh Twilight, what a surprise.” Her mother said.

“Sis, what are you doing here?” Shining Armor asked with a smile.

“The better questions would be: What are you doing here? Don’t you have duties as the captain of the Royal guards?”

“It’s my day off.” He smirked.

Then they noticed me.

“Don’t you want to introduce your friend?” Twilight’s mother asked.

Twilight looked from her family to me and back to her family. Then she sighed.

“Mom...Dad...Shining...this is Xenos...my coltfriend...”

Awkward silence.

“Uhm...hi?”

Then, suddenly her parent’s faces brightened.

“Oh, Twilight, that’s wonderful. You finally found yourself a handsome stallion.”

I blushed.

“Yeah...” Shining Armor said. You could literally feel the ice in his voice.

I cleared my throat.

“Uhm...thank you...”

“You have a very strange name. Where do you come from?” Shining asked suspiciously.

“I- I come from-...uh---“I stammered.

“He comes from far away.” Twilight quickly finished my sentence.

“I see...” Shining said.

He obviously didn’t like me.
The next hour I spent telling them about my job, and how I met Twilight. They were pretty surprised when I told them about our invitation to the art exhibition (except for Shining Armor, of course).
Suddenly someone knocked at the door.

“Come in, it’s open Twilight’s father said, then a royal pegasus guard entered the living room and saluted.

“Captain, an emergency. We need you at the Royal Palace to command the units. Now!” He said in a military voice.

With the calmness of a professional soldier, he put on his armour and exited the house.

“We should probably follow him. I want know what’s the matter.” Twilight said and followed her brother.

I was alone with Twilight’s parents now.

“I should...probably...go too. It was nice to meet you, bye.” I said and dashed out of the house.

The two unicorns shared an odd look.

“He’s...nice.”

“Yeah...”

Chapter 3: Surprising revelations


I finally caught up with Twilight at the Royal Palace. The place was crowded with Royal guards. I nocticed Shining Armor, standing in front of a line of unicorn guards, giving them commands

“Why do we...have to run that fast...” I wheezed.

“Shhh” She silenced me with a harsh look.

Then I noticed why. Princess Celestia was standing on the top balcony. I was stunned by her amazing charisma. The white alicorn was impressive as hell. Just by looking at her you could feel the amazing amount of magic power she was radiating.
Twillight noticed that my jaws dropped open and chuckled.
Then the alicorn princess spoke up:

“Fellow guards, I have a very important message for you.” 

She paused.

“The statue of Discord...is gone.”

Several gasps.

“Oh shit.”

“Stay calm. I want you to start a search. There is still the possibility that this is just a prank. However, be careful. If Discord is free again, he’s dangerous.” She continued in a serious voice. “Captain Shining Armor will divide you into search teams.” She nodded at Shining.

He started giving orders and soon the guards had formed seven search teams. The white stallion finished his speech:

“I’m expecting a detailed report by today’s evening. This mystery must be solved.”

I looked at Twilight. She seemed very worried.

“That’s not good. That’s not good.” She mumbled while running around in circles.

Then she stopped.

“We’ll have to see the Princess. She probably needs my help.” She decided.

So went into the throne room of the palace. Again I was stunned by the amazing architecture of Canterlot. Princess Celestia was sitting on her throne, flanked by two unicorn guards.
The Princess welcomed us with a warm smile.

“It seems like you received my invitation.” She said.

I grinned. Then I noticed that Twilight kneeled down. I quickly did the same and tried not to look right at the princess.

Then I heard her giggle.

“No need to be so formal, little unicorn.” She said.

“Did she just call me “little”?”

“Uhm...thank you...”
...

”...your highness!” I quickly added.

She had a very serious expression on her face.

“Oh crap, what have I done?”

“I- I’m...so-sorry...your highness.” I stammered.

Suddenly I noticed the corners of her mouth twitching. Then she broke out in heartly laughter.

“You’re so easy to spoof.” She laughed.

I felt my face turning bright red.

“Trollestia strikes...” I thought. “Wait, did one of them guards just giggle?”

“Princess...” Twilight spoke up. “I heard your speech. Is there anything I can do to help?”

“I’m afraid no. Since we don’t know if all this trouble is just a prank or not, there is nothing you could do for me. Besides, it is very unlikely that Discord has actually returned. You stil control the Elements of Harmony, so the spell can’t be broken.” The ruler of Equestria answered calmly.

Twilight frowned.

“Why don’t you get prepared for the exhibition?” Celestia smiled.

“You’re probably right...” Twilight mumbled.

So we went back to the hotel.

“Let’s see what Rarity’s doing...” I suggested.

I knocked the door of their room.

“Rarity? Spike? You here?”

No answer.

Suddenly the door opened and rarity stood in front of me. She was wearing a bathrobe and a towel wrapped around her mane. She obviously had just stepped out of the shower.

“What is it, Xenos Darling?” She asked.

“Haven’t you heard the news? Discord’s statue is gone!”

“Oh dear! Does that mean, he’s free again? That’s teeerrible!” She yelled and pretended to faint.

I rolled my eyes.

“Calm down, Rare. The princess said it’s very unlikely that he has actually returned.”

“Phew...” Rarity sighed relieved.

“Where’s Spike?” I asked.

Rarity pointed at the couch. Spike was sitting there like in trance, staring at Rarity.

“He’s like this since I went out of the bath room.” She said.

“Oh Spike...” I thought and shook my head.

Sure, bathrobe-Rarity was...in a way...hot, but seriously, Spike’s reaction was...a bit extreme.
Then Twilight and I went back to our room, where we found a little surprise. A tuxedo for me and a beautiful astronomy-themed dress for Twilight.
Twilight’s eyes shined.

“Oh my gosh. Thes are beautiful. Rarity must have created them for us.” She exclaimed.

“Nice one, Rarity.” I thought.

I’m not much into fancy clothes, but this tuxedo had...swag...(yes, I just wrote that).

“I think I’ll take a shower now...” Twilight stated.

Then she disappeared in to the bathroom. For some reason I felt the urge to follow her.

“Don’t let your dick control you!”

I heard  the shower running.

“A brief look won’t harm anyone.”

I opened the door a little bit. Just so I could look through the chink. That was a mistake. I saw a wet hair-Twilight, rubbing her body with shampoo. This resulted in the biggest boner I’ve ever had. In addition, I accidently hit my head against the doorframe.

“Ouch!” I exclaimed.

Twilight turned her head to the door.

“Fuck...”

I saw her blush.

“Uh...Twilight...sorry...I...just-“

“Shut it!” Twilight snapped.

Then she suddenly smirked.

“Shut up, and get in here.”

“Resist! Resist the temptation.”

I failed resisting...and I’m glad I did.

We arrived at the exhibition. I had taken my best paintings with me.
I was wearing my tuxedo and Twilight was wearing her beautiful dress.

“Have I already told you that you look amazing?” I asked with a smirk.

“Yeah, approximately five times in the last 30 minutes.” She responded with a grin.

I smiled and kissed her. Then I looked around to find Rarity. She was easy to spot, being surrounded by a crowd of colts. I had to admit that she looked stunning. Of course she had made herself a dress too.
When she noticed us, she gracefully walked up to us.

“Twilight, Darling, you look simply marvellous.” She turned to me. “And you too, Xenos. Like a real gentlecolt.”

I blushed.

“I think I should go and see where to hang my paintings and drawings...” I stated. “See you later, Twi.

Switch to Twilight

“See you later, Twi” Her coltfriend said, then disappeared in the crowd.

“Sooooo, what have you been up to, all day?” Rarity asked.

“Ah, nothing important. First we visited my parents, then we heard the Discord statue thingy from the Princess and after that we did it under the shower...”

“Wait, what? Did I really just say that? Please no.”

Rarity’s jaws dropped open.

“Oh shit, I really said that.”

Twilight blushed heavily.

“Uhm...I mean...we did something...and there was a shower...and...”

“Twilight, Twilight...” Rarity interrupted. “I don’t want to know. Just keep your sexual experiences for yourself next time.”

“Phew...”

“Where’s Spike?” Twilight tried to switch the topic.

Right on cue, the purple dragon walked next to Rarity. He obviously seemed to enjoy the jealous looks of the other stallions around.

“Hey there, Twilight. Where’s Xenos?”

“Working.” Twilight responded briefly.

“I see...” Spike said. “What are we going to do now?”

Suddenly two royal guards entered.

“Twilight Sparkle! The Princess wants you to meet her immediately.” One called out.

“What’s the matter?” She asked.

“We don’t know. We were told to get you.”

Twilight saw Xenos walking towards her.

“What happened?” He asked in confusion.

“The Princess wants to meet me.” Twilight responded. “You better come too.”

“We’ll also come with you.” Rarity said and dragged Spike with her.

Then they followed the guards to the Royal Palace.

Switch to Xenos

We arrived at the throne room where we were greeted by the Princess.

“The Discord case has taken a...surprising turn...” She began.

“What do you mean by...surprising?” I asked.

“That’s what she means” A voice said.

Chapter 4: It started like a normal day...


“DISCORD!” Twilight and Rarity yelled in unison.

The draconequus chuckled.

“Twilight Sparkle and Rarity. My dearest friends. And little Spike is here too. How wonderful.” He giggled.

Twilight’s eyes narrowed while Rarity gasped in shock.

“Discord! Stay where you are!” Twilight spat at the spirit of disharmony.

“Ohohoho. No need to be huffish.” He said.

He obviously didn’t take Twilight serious, which made her even more furious. I put my hoof on her shoulder to calm her down.
Discord looked at me in a strange manner. I noticed his different sized pupils.

“And who is this?” He asked curiously, then smirked. “Ooooooh...I see.”

He teleported behind me and Twilight, pushed us together and started to sing:

“Twilight and greenunicornstallion sitting in a tree. K-I-S-”

“It’s enough Discord...” Celestia said.

The draconequus frowned, then teleported back to Celestia’s side. I couldn’t help but grin. Although he was the spirit of chaos and disharmony, he was sort of peculiar. However I had no idea what all this was about.

“Princess, what happened? Why is Discord free again?” Twilight asked nervously.

“It appears that somehow the spell-“ She began, but was interrupted by Discord who silenced her with a quick gesture.

“Shhh...Let me explain it. It was just a normal day and I was relaxing in my house made of stone...” He gave twilight a dirty look, then continued. “...When suddenly the spell broke, and set me free again. And by the way I’ve changed. No more chaos and disharmony.”

He smiled.

“So, Discord claims that he has changed and apparently it must be true, because otherwise the spell wouldn’t have broken, right?” I said.

“Ooooh, you really found yourself a smart coltfriend, right Twilight?”

Twilight blushed.

“He’s not my...well, actually he is, but...THAT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.” She shouted.

“Discord, please...” Celestia said calmly and turned to us again. “We still don’t know why exactly the banishing spell broke, but I think everyone deserves a second chance so...”

She paused.

“So I want you to...take care of him...”

Twilight stared at the Princess in disbelief.

“You want us to do WHAT???” she exclaimed.

“Yes, I want you to help Discord starting a new life. You will watch him and make sure, that he doesn’t fall into relapse.” Celestia remained serious.

“Bu- but Princess, you can’t be serious...I mean he is...and we are...and,,,” Twilight stammered.

“Twi, please...I think the Princess is right. Everyone deserves a second chance...even Discord.” I tried to act as a broker.

Twilight looked at me as if she couldn’t believe what I had just said. Then her expression darkened.

“If you like him so much, then why don’t you let him live at your house?” She asked provocatively.

I stared back at her angrily. I never thought her to be that stubborn.

“That’s exactly , what I was thinking of.” I responded, accepting the challenge. “Discord, if you want to, you can live at my house, until you get your own.” I announced.

Discord cheered, while Twilight just stared at me. Then she busted out of the throne room. Rarity snorted derisively then followed her friend without taking any further notice of me. Even Spike, who hadn’t said a word the whole time didn’t seem to understand me. He just shook his head when he passed me.
I hung my head.

“What happened to Love and Tolerance?”

Then Discord teleported to my side and smiled at me.

“Allow me to introduce myself: Discord, Spirit of chaos and disharmony, and you are?”

I sighed.

“I’m Xenos. Nice...nice to meet you.” I tried to sound friendly, but failed.

Discord patted my shoulder.

“Come on, little one. She will get over it.” He said, then he teleported next to Princess Celestia.

“So...I’ll be going now, sweetheart.” He said and tickled her chin.

The Princess quickly backed off with an expression of dislike on her face and although Discord chuckled, I could swear that for a glimpse of an eye I saw a shadow of disappointment on his face. The spirit of chaos teleported back to me and we headed for the exit.

Suddenly I felt a strange pain in my horn. Everything went blurry and I collapsed. I could see that the same thing was happening to the princess. After a few seconds the pain suddenly stopped. I blinked and stood up again. I shook my head to drive the haziness away.

“Wha- what happened.” I mumbled.

“That was a strong magical interference.” The Princess explained. “The same thing happened about a month ago, but this one was much stronger...”

I just stared at her.

“About a month ago? But that’s when I-“

“Princess, there’s something I should probably tell you...” I said.

Then I told her my whole story. She listened attentively. I noticed that Twilight had entered the throne room again, rubbing her forehead with her hoof. Obviously the interference had affected her too.

“That means that again, someone, o r something from another dimension has entered our world.”The Princess said, after I finished my explanation. “And it seems that our visitor landed near...Ponyville.”

Nopony said a word.

“I want you to examine this occurrence with the most possible cautiousness.” She continued.

We nodded.

“I will use my crowd teleportation skill, to bring you back.”

“Wait! Rarity called out. “Won’t this destroy my beautiful hair styling?” She asked, and actually seemed serious about it.

“Rarity!” We all said in unison.

“What? That’s important.” She shrugged.

Then Celestia charged her powerful spell and transported us back to Ponyville.

(Author’s note: We now switch to my partner’s OC, means that there is a change in the narrative style)

Switch to Dave

Ok first thing, are you in there? No? That’s settled then. Now I need to figure out what the difference in this dimension is and how the hell I should get back.
I walk down the hill when a sudden flash of light appears. After the light disappears I see Rarity, Spike and Twilight, and who the fuck that guy is and finally, wait what the fuck is Discord doing here?

“Uhm hello?” I raise an eyebrow at them.

“Wait... You are a human.” The green stallion said to me.

“And what would you know about that mister?” How the hell did he know I’m a human? Oh right, no one there, forgot.

“Because...I’m a human...or better, I used to be, until...never mind. By the way my name would be Xenos.”

“Ok XENOS if that’s your name, I’m Dave and how am I supposed to believe that you have been human once? It’s not like you are a pony or anything.” Xenos, I still can’t believe that name, I think it sounds stupid at least if it’s what he chose if he really WAS a human.

“You seem feisty Dave, you remind me of someone.” Someone? Not a pony? What? “Yes he’s not pony. And yes I just read your mind, Problem?” He can do that? Oh whatever he still hears me now. “And I know you will ask so will just say it. I’m Discord, Spirit of chaos and disharmony. And these small ponies are Twilight and Rarity and that small guy is Spike.”

“I’m not small!” Oh please Spike, just shut up will you?

“Oh and Dave wanted you to shut up.” 

Spike cringed.

“Stop doing that!”

“I like the chaos you know? Though I have changed for the better I promise you that.” Changed? From what? Being evil? Loving chaos? “Yes to all of your questions.”

“Just stop, please stop reading my mind will you?” He frowns.

“Fine...”

“Wait you must tell us how you got here!” Twilight exclaimed.

“Well some guy decided to prank me, so he sent me into another dimension. Though I am coming from another version of Equestria, but before that I was on earth. And I have met all of you before in my version of Equestria except for you two.” I point at Discord and Xenos.

“Well I got here through a portal and was, as you can see, transformed into a Pony.” Ok what? Well, weirder things can happen right? “But... why do you have an Ashbringer on your back with the disc and all?” When did he see that? Well it does not matter.

“Long story short, I killed a Rayquaza and he was protecting this disc thing and I have smithing skills so I made it, just because it has sentimental value.” Can we just get out of here please?

“You killed a Rayquaza? Seriously? What kind of fucked up Equestira do you even come from???” Oh Xenos I thought you would have guessed by now.

“What is a Rayquaza?” Twilight asks.

“It’s a dragon of sorts and yes it exists and yes I killed it, now that that is over with, can we just get out of here please? I am tired of explaining things to everypony.” I see Xenos looking at me with a strange expression.

“I just noticed but what the heck is wrong with your eyes?” Not this again.

“A symptom, nothing more, nothing less, not harmful.” He just nods.

“He seems harmless, should we get going then?” THANK YOU XENOS! I then hear a thundercloud.

“What the fuck was that?” I turn around to see Discord, wait didn’t he just stand behind me?

“Oh sorry, just me playing around, I also think we should get out of here.

Twilight humps. “Come on Rarity and Spike we are going back to the library so XENOS can get to know his new friends better.” What is her problem? They then trot off.

“Well they are kind of a thing.”

“DISCORD!” Really? I would never have guessed.

“Wait your together with Twilight?” He simply nods. “Colour me surprised, I was working on soften up Rainbow if you know what I mean.” He groans. “What? I am just saying good going here. Oh wait and I also got these.” I spread my wings to their entirety.

“Okaaaaay...that’s a bit weird. How did you get those?”

“Simple really, just a mutation.”

“Can you fly?”

“Can you do anything else?” Oh Discord, you so funny.

“Yes I can fly, though not for long, I am still training on it. No I do not have any other special abilities, sorry Discord.”

He shrugs.

“No matter, it is quite marvellous how you can fly though.”

Xenos just stares.

“XENOS! Hello, are you there?” I wave my hand in front of him. He then snaps out of it.

“Oh sorry, they are cool though.” He then frowns.

“What is up with Twilight though?” I ask.

“She did not agree with the idea of me befriending Discord here.” He points his hoof to Discord.

“That’s too bad, but I feel like we should do something to make everypony agree with the fact that he has changed. And if you were wondering why I’m so inclined to help him, it’s because I can see that he wants to change.” I smile at Discord and he smiles back.

“I thank you for your support Dave the human.” A pot drops on my head and both of them burst into laughter.

“Was that you?”

He sniffs.

“Priceless! HA that was funny.” Discord you are so silly when not trying to destroy stuff. “You know I can still hear you right?” Sorry. “Accepted.”

“What did I miss?” Xenos asks.

“Nothing much really, WAIT! I have one question for you though.”

“What would that be?”

“Before you came here, were you a Brony?” He looks surprised.

“Well yeah, I was, were you?” I nod smiling. “We have something in common! HUZZAH!”

“Uhm yeah, should we get to your place? I am tired from dimension travel and stuff and my throat is really dry as well.”

“Yeah sure just follow me.” I follow him to a small house. We walk in nothing more. “This is where I live and I guess where you will live until we found a way to get you back, seeming how you almost got Rainbow.” I nod.
“Though I want to know one thing, why is Twilight overreacting about Discord? I mean at least give him a chance, geez.”

“Well, uhm...”

Discord then speaks up:

“I have more experience with her than both of you, not really but in that apartment I do. She really is a party pooper, Pinkie is much more fun.”

“Indeed she is, but Rainbow is still cooler.” I still want to know why the fuck I’m here!? ‘It’s easy really but I won’t tell you, oh wait I’m not supposed to be here, so goodbye.’ WAIT! GET BACK HERE! FUCK! Discord gets a surprised face unnoticed by Xenos.

“Kind of, but I like Twilight more.”

“Every man to his own, but I have to ask what are you so surprised by Discord?”

“T-t-t-that voice.” Huh? What voice? “The voice in your mind Dave, I heard him talking to you.”

“He’s a douche. Don’t mind him.”

“What are you two talking about?” I shush him.

“Well, yes but he created me.” ... he created Discord?

“WHO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?” SHUT UP PLEASE!

“The guy who teleported me, he created you?” Discord nods and then he sighs and takes a sip from his teacup, where did he get that? Oh wait, it’s Discord.

“This makes no sense to me.”

“Do you think it does to me?”

“YOU HAVE A FUCKING VOICE IN YOUR HEAD!” He yells.

“You two please calm down, I want to explain some things to you, take a seat.” He gestures towards the sofa.
“Well I don’t know much about him except that we were once friends and his name as well as that he created me. I know one thing about his power and that is that he is only matched by one thing or should I say being.”

“Let me guess, the nice guy?”

Discord gets a confused look on his face.

“I see you have met both and yes that is who I am talking about.” He takes another sip. “But enough about him, he is not here so what should we do?”

“I don’t know, I really want to rest though.”

“You can take the sofa Dave, Discord you can take what you want, I really don’t know what you need and I will just take my bed because , well, I am tired as well.”

We all agree and I lay myself on the ground because yet again the couch is too small. “Night, Discord.” I mumble. God I miss Dash now.

“Night, Dave.” I then fall asleep.

“Oh sure, just ignore me. It’s not like I offered you my house.”

Chapter 5: Disappointing truth


I got up quite early that morning. I just couldn’t get much sleep. So much had happened yesterday. First, Discord has returned, but is a nice guy now. Second, a human named Dave has appeared here (who got wings for some reason). And finally, my friends turned their backs on me, because I supported Discord. Even Twilight! That actually hurt the most.

I sighed.

Then I got out of bed and went into the living room, where I stepped into something feathery.

“Oh gawd, there’s a dead bird on the fl- oh no, it’s just Dave. Why is he lying on the floor?”

Dave opened his eyes and looked at me.

“Xenos...”

“Yeah?”

“You’re standing on my wing...”

I quickly stepped back.

“Why are you lying on the floor anyway?” I asked.

“The sofa. It’s too small for me.”

“Oh...”

Silence.

“Can you...can you sleep on...cloud beds...like the ones pegasi have?”

“Now that I have wings I can do that, yes.” He responded.

“I’ll ask Rainbow if she can get you such a thing.” I said friendly. “Wait, where’s Discord?”

“Over here.” Discord said, somehow...standing on the ceiling?

“Why are you upside down?” I asked.

“From my point of view, you’re the one that’s upside down...”

“Whatever...” I thought.

“So what are we going to do today?” Dave asked.

“I thought it would be the best, if we all go to town and let the Ponies know that you are here. I mean...” I turned to Discord. “You’re the Spirit of chaos and I don’t think, they’re that happy to see you. You didn’t leave a good impression on your last visit to Ponyville. Don’t expect a warm welcome.” I warned him.

Discord just whistled.

“And for you, Dave. You’re probably an even bigger problem than Discord here.”

“Why? You came from another dimension too. They’re accepting you, right?” Dave asked.

“That’s kinda funny. Actually nopony knows where I came from except for Twilight, Spike, the Princess, the Doctor and you two.”

“The Doctor?” Dave suddenly asked. “You mean Doctor Whooves? You know him?”

“He was actually the first real friend I made here.”

“What about Spike?” Discord asked.

“That’s kind of a funny thing. At first Spike didn’t like me. He actually kinda hated me, but we became friends. We’re cool now.”

“I see...Now...why don’t we go and...rough up town.” Dave said, trying to sound cool.

Silence. Discord and I just looked at him.

“Don’t say something like that...you sound like a dumbass when you do that.”

Dave hung his head.

“Let’s just go...” I suggested.

“Wait!” Discord said. “Put these on.”

He pulled out three pairs of shades.

“Where did you-? Never mind...” I sighed.

Then we went out and headed for the town center, of course in slow motion, because we were wearing shades now.

“Awesomeness increased to 100.”

Switch to Dave

“I probably feel more badass than I should right now.” I think out loud.

Discord looks confused.

“Bad ass?” STOP!

“It’s a matter of speech.” Thank you Xenos. “Let’s hit town shall we?” I nod as well as Discord.

We walk through the streets and all I notice is that Ponies gasp and try to get out of the way as fast as possible.

“Well that was certainly...Eventful...Xenos.”

“I told you not to expect a warm welcome...”

I NEED DASH NAOW.

“I uhm do you know where Rainbow is located right now?” He raises an eyebrow. Wait do ponies even have eyebrows? Well at least that’s what it looks like.

“Well at her house I would guess, but are you really sure? She is not the same as in your world you know? You could be disappointed...” I just nod and then fly away, but before I got too far I turned back and yelled:

“Oh and Xenos, I will be back later!” He nods and I turn around and fly towards where Rainbow’s house should be.

I arrive at her cloud-house and knock on her door. She opens with an annoyed expression, which immediately turns into to surprise as she sees me.

“Whoa, what the buck, are you?”

She backs off.

“Well, my name is Dave, and I’m what we call ‘human’.” Real smooth Dave.

“Okay...Dave. I’ve never seen such a thing as ‘human’.”

“That’s probably because I don’t come from this universe.” Please, atleast seem like your impressed.

“Are you trying to be funny? ...”

She looks very annoyed.

“No I’m totally serious. Really!” Hmm, how should I prove I’m not from here? Oh I know! I then pull out my sword.

Rainbow immediately backs off.

“Put that away! Seriously I can defend myself.” Did I scare her? But I didn’t mean to do that.

“No need to be afraid. I know how to handle it. I can show you. Wanna see me fight a manticore or something like that?”

“ARE YOU CRAZY?! Manticores are dangerous and by the way, they live peacefully in the Everfree Forest. When you go and fight one of them they will attack the village. You should better go now, weirdo”

Rainbow shuts the door.

That went a lot worse than I thought. *sigh* Well let’s get back to Xenos.

I then take off to look for Xenos.

Switch to Xenos

“...I will be back later!” Dave said and flew away.

“He’s nice and everything, but seriously, why wings???”

Eventually Discord and I reached the Town centre. All the Ponies suddenly looked at us.

Silence...

Then suddenly somepony screamed:

“Discord has returned. He will bring chaos and destruction all over Ponyville.”

Soon everypony was running around in panic.

“The Horror! The Horror!”

I sighed.

“Discord? Can you summon me a megaphone?”

“Sure, here you go.”

“How did he do that? It just appeared out of nowhere. He didn’t even use magic.”

I took the megaphone with my magic and spoke up:

“Everypony, calm down! Yes, Discord has returned, but he only because he wants to change. He’s not a threat anymore.”

All the Ponies stopped and looked at us.

“Why should we believe that?” Someone asked.

“Because it’s the truth and by the way, Princess Celestia herself told me to integrate Discord into Equestria’s society.”

That worked. Still, some Ponies groaned and looked at us in a strange way, but they accepted Celestia’s will.
Then, suddenly Dave landed next to us and again, Ponies were shocked.

“It’s a monster. A flying monster. The Horror! The Horror!”

“Not again...”

I gave Dave a dirty look and used the megaphone again:

“Please, calm down again. This guy is no monster. His name is Dave and he comes from...a different place and he has no idea how to get back and needs our help. By the way he’s totally harmless.”

Silence.

“A SWORD: THE MONSTER HAS A SWORD!”

“It will kill us all! RUN!”

Panic again. I banged my head against a wall.

“Why me? WHY?”

“Can everypony please shut up!? No, I don’t know why he’s carrying a sword, but I can guarantee you that he’s NOT going to kill you. He’s not a monster. He’s a friend that needs our help. I don’t know what you’re going to do, but I am going to support him.” I shouted, and then I dropped the megaphone.

Everpony stared. They looked at me, like I had insulted Ponyville’s hospitality. Actually I had, but I didn’t care, because I was right. I turned to Dave and Discord again.

“We should probably see Twilight at the library. We need her to find a spell that can get you back to your universe, Dave.” I suggested. “By the way, what happened with Rainbow?”

Dave hung his head. I decided not to ask further questions and we left the town centre to head for the library.

I tried to put on a fake smile, when we entered the library. I didn’t want to let my anger out on Twilight.
Twilight smiled when she saw me, but immediately frowned when she saw Discord.

“Hi Xenos. Hey Dave...right?...Hello Discord...” She said.

Usually I would welcome her with a kiss, but it didn’t seem right now.

“Twilight, we need your help. We have to find a way to get Dave back to his universe.”

“You don’t like him?” She said provocatively, indicating that she was still angry about the Discord thing.

“No, it’s just that the other Ponies don’t seem to be satisfied with the situation. Apparently they think Dave to be a monster and I think I don’t have to tell you what they think of Discord.” I stated, trying not to sound too annoyed.

Twilight mumbled something then started searching through the bookshelves. She searched for about half an hour, then looked back at us, with a disappointed expression.

“I’m really sorry, but it seems that I don’t have any books about that topic. I can’t help you.”

Dave looked crestfallen.

“I’m sorry, Dave...” Twilight said carefully.

“No, no. It’s okay. After all, I’m still in Equestria. I’ll just have to start all over, until I find a way back.” He tried to sound unconcernedly, but I could see that he was badly disappointed.

Switch to Dave

‘How are you doing today my friend? Oh wait...’ GET BACK HERE! ‘NO! AND BYE!’ HELLO? I still hate you for doing this. My head falls. “Uhm, Dave are you in there?” Xenos waves a hoof in front of me. I fall back.

“Huh wha? Oh sorry, I was thinking.” 

He laughs.

“Yeah, you kind of zoned out.”

“Seems like it. I’m going out again, seeing as I have nothing to do really.” They all just nod and I walk outside.

Hmm now what should I do to impress everyone that I actually am nice? Hmm, maybe I should give them treats? Nah too much Pinkie. I know what would be perfect, fighting of a monster from the town, but sadly there are no monsters attacking. WAIT!? Maybe I should GET a monster to attack? Yes that sound perfect. YOU ARE ALL GOING TO LOVE ME! Wait too much Fluttershy? ‘I would say too little.’ Are you here to stay this time? ‘Nope so goodbye.’ Why is he doing this to me? I just want to go home. *sigh* Well at least I know how to get accepted fast right? Yeah let’s do that.

As I walk through Town, everypony that sees me just gasps and runs away. Wait why am I not flying there? That would probably go faster. I fly off towards the forest.

I arrive at the entrance, it was awhile since I was here, and it’s giving me a weird vibe.  I walk in on the very convenient path into the forest. Wonder where this is going, oh wait is that a house? Probably Zecora’s house, should I ignore her? Yeah, she would probably just warn me about the dangers of the forest and I really hate rhyming, no offence to anyone who likes that.

I walk straight into the forest and all I see is forest, forest and wait is that a chicken? What is that doing out here? And why is it hiding in a bush?
It hisses at me as I see it has the body of a snake, oh shit I should get out of here. And I rocketed out of there. I searched the forest for a manticore for what felt like hours, but it had really only taken me 15 minutes until I found a river, wait where am I now? The Water splashes at my face and I see a sea serpent, wait is that Stephen Magnet? “Ohohoho, who are you little thing?” Yup it’s him, definitely him.

“I’m looking for a manticore.” He inspects me.

“Now why would you be doing that?” I look away.

“A manticore stole something from me.” I lied.

“Oh ok, that’s never any fun, there is a manticore cave not long from here, maybe it there?” I nod. “Ok then just walk that way for five minutes and you should find it.” I nod and walk away.

I continue walking until I see the entrance to a big cave.
Let’s get this over with.

Chapter 6: Screwing it up


After Dave left I turned back to Twilight. She seemed a little worried.

“I really feel bad for him.” She stated. “He really seems to miss his world.”

“You have no idea...” I thought when I thought about Dave’s crush on Rainbow Dash.

“I think we should...go now. Right, Discord?”

The draconequus just nodded. Twilight looked like she wanted to answer something, but remained silent. So we left. Even though I couldn’t see her, I felt her look following me.
Outside, Discord asked me:

“It’s really not that good at the moment, huh? Between you and Twilight, I mean.”

I nodded and sighed.

“It wouldn’t be a problem, if she would just...accept you...”

“Maybe I should just...move away...to Canterlot or something. I don’t want to destroy your relationship, after all you did for me.” He said, with a caring look.

I looked at him with a sad smile.

“He really has changed. He really proves that he wants to be a better person.”

“No, Discord! You’re staying here. You deserve it.” I said confidently. “Twilight will get over it.”

We both smiled.

“But seriously, we need to find away, how to make them other Ponies like you. And I already have an idea.”

“That would be?”

“You’re going to meet...Pinkie Pie.” I suggested.

“And how should that help?” He asked.

“Think of it: Pinkie wants to be friends with everypony. She’s the best Pony to start with, and by the way, you can gain bonus points by summoning chocolate rain.”

“True that.”

So we went to Sugarcube corner to find our favourite Party-Pony. The welcome wasn’t quite as expected: When we entered the confectionery, a cake landed right on my face.

“What the-?”

“Stay back! I have cakes! Lots of them.” Pinkie yelled.

“Pinkie, please, it’s not how-“

*splash*

Another cake had just landed in Discord’s face. He wiped it off, then grinned.

“Oh, it’s on then.”

“Please no...”

Unnecessary to mention, that a massive cake fight began. When they finally ran out of cake, the whole place was a sugar massacre.
Pinkie wiped the cake out of her face with her tongue.

“Mhmmm...chocolate. Declicious. What exactly did you want to tell me?”

*facehoof*

“...I just wanted you to meet Discord. The new Discord.”

Pinkie bounced up to us and shook Discord’s hand (claw?).

“Hi, new Discord. What happened to the old one? I’m Pinkie Pie by the way.”

*facehoof* again

“Pinkie could I-“

Discord sushed me.

“Let me explain, Xenos.” He turned to Pinkie. “As you know, I’m Discord, former spirit of chaos and disharmony. I’m back from my stone prison, because I wanted to change my life and make friends and Xenos here...” He pointed at me. “...thought, that you were the best Pony to start with.” He finished and took a deep breath.

Pinkie glared at him, then beamed at us.

“I would loooove to be your friends, now that you aren’t a big old meanie anymore. And do you know what I do for my friends? I throw a PARTYYYYY.” Pinkie babbled.

I smiled.

“That’s settled the-“ I started but was interrupted, by somepony screaming.

“Why can’t you just let me finish my sentences???”

I looked around and saw Mrs. Cake staring at the mess in her confectionery. Then she glared at furiously glared at us.

“WHAT. HAVE. YOU. DONE???”

“Oh, Mrs Cake. Xenos and his friend new Discord came here and I thought Discord was a meanie, but he actually isn’t, and so we started a cake fight and now we’re friends.” Pinkie beamed.

I noticed Mrs. Cake’s eyelid twitch and slowly backed off.

“This can’t be good.”

“YOU ARE GOING TO CLEAN ALL THIS UP!” She shouted.

I saw Discord making a calming gesture.

“Allow me to fix this.”

He clicked his fingers, and suddenly...everything was cleaned up. All the cakes ‘repaired’ and back where they belonged.

Mrs Cake’s face was priceless.

“I- I- guess, that’s settled then...” She stuttered.

She still stared at Discord, who somehow had summoned a cup of tea, which he was slowly sipping at.

“So now that this is-“

“EEEEEEEEEEEEEK!”

“What now?!”

Suddenly a blue Pony I didn’t know, bursted into the room and started stammering:

“Outside the town...monsters...manticore...the guy with the wings...HELP!”

“Dave what have you done?” I thought.

“Discord! Quick! Dave is in trouble.”

We busted out of the pastry shop and headed in the direction the other Ponies were fleeing from.

Switch to Dave

I am running through Ponyville being chased by a manticore, but then I hear somepony yell something. “DAVE! YOU HAVE WINGS! USE THEM!” Wait was that Xenos? Oh and thanks for the tip.
I fly up in the air and the manticore gets confused while I land behind its back, let’s get hacking? I pull out my sword, and hack at the manticore’s tail only to get knocked away by a big paw. “Ouch.” I say as I get tossed straight into a building.
The manticore charges at me and I dodge him while trying to slash him with my sword, I hit it but I immediately feel like I lost a ton of power, ok what is happening here? It body slams me to the ground. I grunt and it hops off me and I roll away and get up again. I’m starting to feel like this was a bad idea. It swings its paw at me again and I dodge it easily and swing my sword at its back side only to lose even more of my capacity. What is happening? It slams its claw at my face and I fly into a barrel and get knocked unconscious.

Switch to Rainbow Dash

“What happened? Why is everypony panicking?” Rainbow thought.

She dashed off into the direction eyerypony was fleeing from. Then she saw it. This strange Dave-guy was fighting...a manticore!

“Don’t tell me he’s really that stupid...”

Dave attempted to strike the manticore with his strange sword, but barely dealt any damage and was immediately knocked into a...barrel by the beast.

“He’s an idiot, but we have to save him...and the town too.”

Rainbow flew closer and yelled:

“COME ON, EVERYPONY! WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER ON THIS! WE NEED TO GET THE MANTICORE OUT OF HERE, FOLLOW MY LEAD.”

She flew down and tried to attract the manticore’s attention by shouting at it. Eventually the monster desisted from Dave and headed towards her. Rainbow turned around and rocketed to the forest. The manticore followed her for some time, but then stopped and turned on...Ditzy!

“DITZY, RUN FOR THE FOREST!” Rainbow shouted.

The grey Pegasus nodded and...flew straight into a tree.
Rainbow facehoofed. What did she expect? But how could she save Ditzy now?
The manticore was just about two rip her in two with his deadly claw, when he was suddenly struck by a brief lightning bolt. Rainbow looked around and saw Xenos running at the manticore with a glowing horn, continuing to fire lightnings. The manticore didn’t seem to be vers impressed by the lightning strikes, but rather annoyed. It launched at the unicorn stallion, who immediately jumped aside and headed for the forest.
Rainbow decided to use the distraction and bucked the manticore right in the face. Apparently this knocked the beast out.
As soon as it hit the ground, Applejack and her brother Big Macintosh approached the monster and tied it up with some strong ropes.
Finally Xenos used his levitation magic to lift the manticore and carry him deeper into the forest, where they untied it.
The monster didn’t seem too eager for a fight anymore and quickly escaped into the bushes.
When they got back to town, everypony cheered. Usually Rainbow Dash would enjoy this moment, but she was too angry at this Dave-guy at the moment. What was he thinking?

“This guy seriously needs a kick in the flank.”

Switch to Dave

Ouch, what happened? I was fighting a manticore. Oh god did I get knocked out? I open my eyes to see Dash walking towards me with an angry expression. “What happened? I don’t remember.” She says nothing, she only slaps me right in the face and walks off. “Don’t even THINK of talking to me again.”
Oh god what have I done? I feel terrible now. That really hurt, not only my face but also my soul. I begin to sob as I sit there in the rubble, not caring if anypony sees me or whatever happens to me, WHY? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SEND ME HERE!? I HATE YOU! Why? Was my earth life not bad enough? I had finally gotten friends and maybe a girl and then YOU FUCKING SEND ME AWAY!? I guess I should be happy for even being in Equestria at all, but I just can’t not with THIS happening! Why did I have to do that? Why am I such an idiot all the time? I should probably just go and jump off a cliff before I hurt anypony else, wait who’s that voice? “Dave, what were you thinking, for Celestia’s sake?” Xenos?

“I-I-I’m so sorry.” I sob forth.

He sighs. “We should probably get you back to my place, shall we?” I just continue to sob. “Discord, can you help me here?”

“Of course.” And as fast as he snaps his fingers we are back in Xenos house and I’m just lying on the floor continuing to sob. “Dave, calm down! What happened, happened. We can’t change that anymore” I sniff.

“Yeah, Dave. Just calm down and tell us what happened. I Promise we won’t get mad.” I sniff again.

“Yeah right, you are just going to slap me like RD did.” Then Xenos puts on a ‘bossy’ tone.

“Now you listen to me Dave, we are your friends and we will not be angry at you just tell us what happened.”

I nod and start telling them what happened all from me going to Dash’s house to being in the rubble. “Now what made you think, that would be a good idea, Dave?”

“I don’t know, I tell you! It was the dumbest thing I have ever done and I would do anything to change it.” *Dave are you there? Hello! Can you hear me?* Wait, which one are you? *The one who didn’t send you off, I’m here to get you back. Why is that guy such an idiot trying to send you off to a place I don’t know about?* I can go home? *Yes.* My heart lights up as the morning sun.

“Uhm, Dave what are you doing?” Xenos asks.

Discord speaks up:

“I heard it, and well let’s say it’s like this, he can go home now.” I am so fucking happy you would not believe it. *Wait let me check your memory here. Oh god, why did you do those things?* Please don’t remind me, I just want to forget it. *Sure thing, I won’t mention them again.* Thank you.

“Dave that’s great! You can finally go home now.”

“Yeah, I am really happy about this.” I have one question though. *What would that be?* Why haven’t you found me earlier. *I did not know about your disappearance until this morning and I must say it’s tiring going through worlds just to find you.* I’m happy that you did.

“So that means goodbye?” They both say.

“I guess so, it has been nice knowing you two.” They smile and we all hug, Bromance hug FTW! *Do you want to keep contact with Xenos here?* Wait, I could do that? *Yes, you would be able to send letters and I would be able to take them and send them, sadly there would be a delay, sometimes this stuff can become slow.* That does not matter, as long as we can keep contact. “Do you know what I just heard?” I ask as we release the hug. Xenos looks at me. “I just got to know that we would be able to keep contact through letters. The only thing you need to do is send yours through Discord and I should get them. As for you to get my letters well they will just appear in front of you.”

“That would be great. It seems like we didn’t have much time to get to know each other. It would be nice to have a human friend after all.”

We all hug again. I am ready. *Ask them to back off.* Ok. “Please back off, I’m getting teleported, I will miss your friendliness Xenos and I hope to hear from you soon.” He nods and everything goes white and next thing I realise is that I’m standing inside Twilight’s tree again. All my friends are there and gaze at me for a moment. Then they all jump at me and hug me. I also notice Dash snuggling against me.

“It feels great to be home again.”

Chapter 7: Bad blood


I sighed.

“Back to normal then, I guess?” I said to Discord.

“Normal? Don’t call me normal. That’s like an insult.” He joked.

I smiled.

“You know, Xenos...” He started. “When we first met Dave...you said you once had been human. So you were...like Dave?”

I chuckled a little.

“Well, sort of.”

“Do all humans look like that?”

“No, not really. I mean, first of all, humans don’t have wings normally. Second there are also female human-beings.

“How do they look like?” The draconequus asked curiously.

“Well, they’re...sort of...more beautiful...some of them...oh, and they have boobs.”

“Boobs?”

“Never mind...and don’t read my mind now...”

“Ah, be sure I wo-WHAT THE BUCK, WHAT IS THIS???”

“Discord, you promised!”

He ignored that.

“And humans actually find...that attractive?”

“Well...sort of, but seriously stop reading minds. It’s evil.”

“Yeah, whatever. What do we do now?”

“I guess, I will like...try to set things straight with Twilight.”

“Oh good luck then. I will do...things...I don’t know yet, bye!”

He waved and then disappeared. For some reason I thought his behaviour being more...strange than usual, but what do I know? He’s the spirit of chaos after all. He has to act random sometimes. I shrugged and went to the library.

I stopped before the entrance to Twilight’s tree and took a deep breath.

“Just be nice. She will understand.”

I entered. Nopony seemed to be there. I called for Twilight and Spike.

“Coming.” Spike answered.

He came down the stairs and waved at me.

“Hey, Xenos. Haven’t seen you in a while.” He greeted.

“...yeah, about a day or something.”

“Whatever. What’s up?”

“I actually was looking for Twilight...” I responded.

“Oh, she’s not here right now. She went to meet Applejack or something like that.”

“Oh...”

That was disappointing.

“What did you want to talk about with her? Or were you just here to do...things you two do when you are alone.”

I blushed.

“Don’t tell me you’re observing us!”

I quickly drove that thought away. It was ridiculous. Spike, being a crazy stalker. That would be just too weird.

“I wanted to talk about that Discord-“I stopped and looked at Spike again.

“Spike, you’re my friend, right?” I asked.

“Yeah, sure...”

“I want an honest answer. What do you think about that whole Discord thing?”

“Well...thing is...he’s still the spirit of chaos after all...you weren’t there...you didn’t see what he did. After all he had done in the past it’s simply hard to believe him.”

I sighed.

“If the others would just give him a chance...He lives at my house for nearly two days now, and even I can see that he has changed. He’s still crazy, no doubt, but he isn’t evil.” I tried to explain.

“I know what you want to say. It’s just that Twilight...when she and the others encountered him first he nearly managed to defeat them and tear their friendship apart. If I was her, I would act the same, I think.”

I thought about that. Maybe Spike was right. That would mean that if Twilight would spend some time with Discord, she would probably see him in a different light. I I could only convince her to actually spend time with him.
Right on cue, the door opened and Twilight entered. She looked at me, seeming to be surprised.

“I guess, I leave you two alone now.” Spike said and left the library.

I was alone with Twilight now. I just wanted to pull myself together and talk about that Discord thing, when she suddenly rushed at me and kissed on the mouth. I was surprised by the wild welcome. Then I noticed something strange and backed off.

“Eww, Twilight! What have you been eating? Your breath smells like horseapples!”

Then I realised what I had just said. However Twilight didn’t seem to be offended or angry. She just smiled sheepishly.

“Oops. Looks like I haven’t brushed my teeth in a while.” She grinned.

I decided not to ask any further questions, but change the subject to Discord. At least she seemed to be in good temper. Best conditions. At least that’s what I thought.

“Soooo, Twilight. There’s this thing I wanted to talk with you about...” I began carefully.

“And that would be?” She asked with a smile.

“Discord...I want you to spend some time with him...He really has changed. I know it’s difficult for you...but, please try it.” I finished, took a deep breath and looked at her hopefully.

The way her expression changed from friendly too mad, was honestly frightening. I backed off as Twilight got closer to me and snorted.

“Why can’t YOU understand it??? He is the spirit of disharmony. He’s evil and he will always be. You’re just too naive to see it. Wake up, from your stupid little dream and face reality!” She snapped.

I was shocked by the harshness of her words. Then my eyes narrowed. I felt this incredible anger grow again. I always thought I could choke that feeling down, but I couldn’t right now. I wanted to hurt somepony’s feelings now!

“What in Celestia’s name, is your motherbucking problem, Twilight? Discord has changed. Just because you’re a little bucking smart ass, doesn’t mean you’re right. You’re just too arrogant to admit that you’re wrong and guess what? Pinkie Pie is already friends with who you call “will always be evil”! How you like THAT!” I spat at her.

That was  way harsher than I intended, but at that moment I just felt it to be right. I looked at her with a grim smile. I expected her to break out in tears, or apologize or just turn her head away...but...she acted different...a lot different.
In fact she just stared at me, with that frightening mad expression and then yelled:

“If that’s what you think, then we should end this relationship, now!!! Don’t you ever dare to come back again!”

I was stunned. I was expecting a reaction, but not that... You’ll probably think that I cried now. Wrong! I was way too angry for crying. I just snorted, spit on the floor and turned around.

“Selfish bitch!” I mumbled.

I was just about to go, when she suddenly added:

“Oh, and know what? I faked EVERY orgasm!”

That was mean. I rushed out and shut the door. I was bristling with anger. I let my anger out on a defenceless newspaper. I picked it up with magic and set it on fire. Then I stomped on the ground and returned home.
On the way I realised what I had just done. My anger flushed away and was replaced by bitter sadness.

“We-we-...We broke up...We really broke up. I...simply...lost...her...”

It felt like my brain had just realised what had actually happened. Now I didn’t feel like destroying things. I felt like crying. And that’s what I did...I cried. I cried and sobbed and cried again. All the way home. I needed some sleep now.
Unfortunately something had happened during my absence. Something that would usually cheer me up. But now I just couldn’t be happy. Not now...

Chapter 8: Crushing trees


I knew it even before I entered the house. The dulled music I could hear from outside, the flickering lights I could see through the windows. There was only one possible conclusion.

“Pinkie Pie!”

I was right. When I entered the house it had turned into a colourful room, full of balloons, confetti and cake. It looked like a common Pinkie-Party…with one exception: There was a lack of guests!
I spotted Discord and Pinkie Pie, playing “pin the tail on the Pony”, but nopony else. At least they were having fun.
Eventually they noticed me, and turned around.

“Oh, hi Xenos, this is a surprise party for new Discord and because he doesn’t have his own house I thought I could throw it at your house as Discord lives with you and I hope you’re not angry because I didn’t ask for your permission, but I couldn’t, because then it wouldn’t be a surprise story anymore so I thought it would be okay, because you like parties, cause everypony likes parties adn actually I invited everypony but nopony has come so far, which is strange because usually everypony comes to my parties and-.” Pinkie jabbered, but stopped when she noticed my facial expression. “Is there something...wrong?” She looked worried now.

I sighed.

“What happened? You look more depressed than Twilight, when I nearly defeated her.” Discord asked.

“Twilight…” 

I tried hard not to break out in tears.

“Ju-just read my mind. I don’t want to talk about it…” I sobbed.

“Haven’t you told me that would be evil?” He mocked me.

“JUST DO IT!” I shouted, then hung my head again. “Sorry…”

“Whoa, no need to…oh…Oh! That’s…I’m…uh…sorry…” He obviously was stunned by what he had just seen.

He teleported to my side and patted my back.

“Let it out, my friend. Just let it out.” He said caring.

That’s what I did. I let everything out and broke out in tears.

“Hey, why is he crying? What did I miss?” Pinkie asked worried.

Discord flew to her side and whispered something in her ear.

“Oooh, so you and Twilight were like…but you broke up…and…oh…That’s sad.”

“You bet it is!” I said and gave her a dirty look.

Pinkie hung her head and looked sad. After watching me crying for some time, she carefully began:

“You know…I don’t like it when somepony is sad…and there’s this song…I-“

“PINKIE, STOP IT! I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF YOUR #+*%@! SONGS!” I shouted at her.

The pink Pony was obviously hurt by the harshness of my words. Usually I would apologize now. But this wasn’t like usual. This time I didn’t give a single fuck, if anypony was hurt. I know that wasn’t a very nice attitude, but what do you expect? I hated everything back then. It felt like the time, when I was sent back to human earth by the gods of time and space. It was the same feeling of loneliness and helplessness.
I realized that I just needed some time alone now and pushed Discords arm off my shoulder. Then I rushed out of the house and headed for…somewhere.

Switch to Discord

Discord was a little bit shocked. Although he knew the green unicorn for only two days, he would have never expected such an emotional release. Discord never thought that he would care much about other’s feelings, but he had to admit: This time he felt really bad…

Switch to Xenos

I ran and ran and ran. I didn’t know where I ran, but somehow I ended up in the park. I stopped and looked around. Nopony seemed to be around. That was good, as I wanted to be alone.
I lay down beneath a tree and started sobbing again. I thought about everything. About my whole life, the mistakes that I’ve made, the few good times I had everything… I even caught myself pretending that it would have been better if I had never come to Equestria, but that was a ridiculous thought. My life here was ten times better, then it would ever be on earth, but still… Now that I’d lost Twilight, it seemed actually sort of realistic. I tried to pretend to hate her. That she wasn’t worth it, but I couldn’t lie to myself. Twilight had turned out to be one of the best things that had ever happened to me. It wasn’t really the break up, that hurt, it were the words she had thrown at me.
Probably I was overreacting. Probably everything wasn’t that bad. It was my first relationship, and therefore my first break up too. Maybe it wasn’t that much of a tragedy, but back then I didn’t know.
My thoughts were rushing and my emotions were taking over again. This time I felt nothing, but rage. Rage I couldn’t really explain. I didn’t know if I was angry at Twilight or myself or even at Discord, who, after all, was still responsible for all this. That last thought I quickly drove away.

“Stop it! It’s not Discord’s fault. He supported me. He’s my friend. It’s Twilight. Nopony else is more responsible for all this shit, it's her!”

My unreasonable fury grew even bigger. I didn’t know what exactly happened, just that I focussed my enragement at a lone tree on a hill and before I even realised what I was doing I fired a massive lightning beam from my horn. It hit the tree and it literally exploded. Even though it was about twenty meters away, I was hit by the splinter that fell from the sky.

“Oh god! What have I done? I hope nopony was over there.”

I quickly rushed to the hill. As I came closer I could finally see the size of the destruction I had caused. The tree looked like it had burst from the inside. The trunk looked like it had been torn apart. It was a wooden massacre. The whole hill was charred.
I was scared by my abilities. I still didn’t know what happened. Were hate, sadness and frustration emotions that strong, that they could cause...that amount of destruction if they were combined with magic? At that moment I swore that I would never use magic again when I was angry. I time I had only vaporized a tree. What if I hit a Pony next time? What if I...kill a Pony? I didn’t even want to think about it. I just wanted to leave this place as fast as possible. That was when I suddenly heard someone whimpering.
I looked around, but couldn’t see anypony, but I still heard some quiet whining. I tried to concentrate to spot where it came from, and found out that it came from a big bush a few meters away. I carefully came closer and went around the bush where I saw...Fluttershy!
She was lying on the ground, crying. She didn’t even notice me. She had covered her face with her mane, and continuingly sobbed. Then I noticed something strange. Something that made my stomache clench. The yellow Pegasus was lying in a blood puddle. As she moved I could see that her whole right flank was covered in blood.

“Oh god, Fluttershy what happened?!” I asked shocked.

Obviously I had startled her. She shrieked and tried to get up, but failed and collapsed.
I quickly got over to her to calm her down.

“Fluttershy, no need to panic. It’s just me, Xenos. You remember?”

I had never really talked to her since Pinkie’s welcoming party. I had occasionally seen her in town, buying food, but nothing more. I wasn’t sure if she even remembered my face.
She clenched as I tried to touch her.

“Please, Fluttershy, I only want to help you. You’re injured, you need help. Tell me what happened?” I tried to sound calm.

“...Just lying here...loud bang...explosion...tree...wooden shard....my flank...” She stammered, still shivering from the shock.

I tried to lift her wing, but she pressed it against her side, even tighter.
I sighed.
“Would you please, lift your wing? I just want to see how bad the injury is.”
She looked at me with her big, cyan eyes. Then she slowly lifted her right wing. She squinted her eyes, indicating that she suffered from the pain. Then I could finally see why: There was a deep cut in her side and it continued bleeding. In the near distance I spotted something that looked like a large piece of wood. It was covered in blood.
My worst fears had come true: My emotional outbreak had actually seriously injured somepony!

“Quick, you have to bandage the wound.” I gasped.

I was looking for some sort of a bandage when I realised that I was still wearing my saddlebags. I emptied them on the ground, took a piece of canvas and wrapped it around her stomach. She cried again when the fabric touched the wound. It was a heartbreaking scream, but I had to go on, otherwise she would bleed to death.
I finally managed to stop the bleeding, but Fluttershy still needed professional help.

“Fluttershy? Can you hear me? You need help. We need to get you to the hospital.” I tried to speak.

She mumbled something.

“What was that?” I asked.

“No...hospital...my cottage...closer...first aid kit.” She stammered.

“But Fluttershy...I- I don’t know how to vet this wound.”

“Can...tell you...it’s...not that bad.” She mumbled again.

I didn’t know if she wanted to act tough, but I supposed that she knew what she was talking about. Although I didn’t know if I could really help her, I decided that she probably wouldn’t make it to the hospital, so it would be better, to do what she had suggested.

“I will lift you on my back now, okay? Don’t be scared now.” I said and focussed my magic.

I tried to pick her up as gentle as possible. The yellow Pegasus squeaked a little when she got levitated through the air. I placed her gently on my back. She was heavier than I was expecting. However I managed to carry her weight. Fluttershy pointed the way and I carefully started walking...

Chapter 9: Out of the way, I’m a doctor!


Finally we reached Fluttershy’s cottage. I almost stumbled two times. Fortunately I was able to hold balance both times. I didn’t even want to know what could have happened if I actually dropped her.
When I wanted to open the door, I was suddenly attacked by a little white rabbit. He tried to...sort of...punch my legs, but I didn’t even notice it.
I supposed that this was Fluttershy’s pet bunny, Angel.

“Calm down, little one. Fluttershy is hurt and needs help!”

The little rabbit startled as he saw his owner, lying on my back, bleeding.

“Angel, please...she’s hurt...she needs our help.”

Angel glared at me, seeming not to be sure what to do. Then his facial expression became more resolute. He kicked the door to the cottage open and pointed me to come in. I made sure that Fluttershy’s head wouldn’t hit the door, when we entered.
I walked towards the couch, where I lifted the wounded Pegasus with my magic and carefully placed her on the sofa. Then I wiped the sweat from my face. Carrying somepony is more exhausting then you would think.

“You need to...first aid kit...” Fluttershy stammered, then lost consciousness.

I was shocked. What should I do? I never vetted anypony. I was confused and scared and was already about to run away, when something poked my leg. I looked down and saw Angel, hopping up and down nervously. He obviously tried to show me something. I kneeled down, to get at eye height with the rabbit.

“What is it? What do you want to show me?” I asked.

He bounced up to the wall and pointed at something, he couldn’t reach from the floor. I recognized it as a first aid kit.
I quickly grabbed it with my magic, placed it on the floor in front of me and opened it.

“What now?” I asked Angel.

He pointed at Fluttershy’s preliminary dressing. By gesturing he told me to remove them.
I wasn’t really sure about it. Then I saw that blood was already coming through the canvas. I pulled myself together and started to remove it. It was disgusting. The canvas was soaked with blood and adhered to her fur. Then I uncovered the cut...and nearly vomited. I won’t describe the details. I don’t even think I would remember them.
I looked back at Angel what to do. He didn’t seem to be as disturbed as I was. I supposed he was used to such views. He pointed me to wait, hopped into the kitchen and came back with a wet sponge. I took the sponge and started cleaning the wound, which was crusted with blood. It didn’t look that horrible then, but it was still bleeding, although not much anymore.
I looked back to Angel to see what to do. He pointed at a small glass bottle with some sort of liquid in it and at something that looked like cotton. From his gestures I supposed that this was some kind of germicide. I poured some of it at the cotton, until the rabbit pointed me to stop. Then I took a deep breath. This wouldn’t be delightful for Fluttershy.

“This is going to hurt a little bit.” I whispered, although I knew she couldn’t hear me.

Then I started to slowly dab the wound with the cotton. Fluttershy winced a little when the germicide touched the cut. After some time angel pointed me to stop. He brought me some bandages, which I carefully wrapped around Fluttershy’s waist. Finally I finished and fastened it. I hoped it wasn’t too tight and looked at Angel. He seemed satisfied with my work and gave me an approving look. I felt a little proud of myself.

“And now?” I asked.

Angel just shrugged. Then he hopped on the couch, curled up to a ball and started dozing. I thought of leaving and informing a doctor, but what if something happened in the meantime? As long as she was still unconscious it would be better if I stay in range. I lay down on the couch next to her, just to watch her in case she needs help again. She was breathing steadily.

“At least she seems okay now...”

I always thought her to be a bit of an annoying Pony. With all the shyness and her disability to make her own decisions, it wouldn’t be easy to interact with her. Well, that’s what I thought... In fact the yellow Pegasus had proven that she had...well...true grit... As I looked at her I realised that she actually was...sort of...pretty. Her long pink mane and the soft cyan eyes...

“Stop it!”

I quickly banned that thought from my head. After all she was still with BigMac, who isn’t really the kind of stallion you want to have as an enemy. Moreover I had just broken up with Twilight. This wasn’t the time for such thoughts. It was probably just because I felt guilty for bringing Fluttershy in this situation. It certainly wasn’t real affection, just sympathy...right?
After some time, I got a bit tired. Moreover I was lying in an uncomfortable position. I tried to lie down in a different position, but couldn’t as I would have to move Fluttershy then, and I didn’t want to wake her up. I levitated a pillow from a chair, so I could at least lay my head somewhere.

“Just for resting...no sleeping!”

I tried not to be overwhelmed by sleep, although my eyelids were getting heavier. In the end I couldn’t resist anymore. I drifted away into slumber. Not a very peaceful slumber, though. I thought of Twilight again...
I don’t know what time it was, but after a while I woke up. I noticed that my cheeks were all wet, indicating that I had been crying while sleeping. I felt a little embarrassed. Then I noticed something else. Someone’s head was resting on my head...Fluttershy’s head! I blushed and tried to back off. She was still asleep, so she probably didn’t even realise the situation. I thought of a way to get out of this situation without waking her up.
I used my magic to levitate my pillow. I tried to place it under her head so wouldn’t notice a difference. Unfortunately...this finally woke her up. She slowly opened her eyes, with a dizzy expression on her face.

“Just another minmnmnm...” She mumbled and snuggled against my flank again.

Then she realised what she was doing.

“EEEEEEEP!”She squeaked and jumped back.

Now we were both blushing.

“I- I’m so sorry, I-...I didn’t mean to...” She was looking for words.

I quickly made a calming gesture.

“No need to apologize, you were asleep.”

I tried to change the subject.

“How’s your wound doing?”

Fluttershy looked at the bandage, then back at me.

“Did you...I mean...you...vet...me?” She asked.

I scratched my neck and tried to avoid eye contact.

“Uhm...sort of...with the help of Angel.” I tried to sound humble.

“Where is that little guy anyway?”

“Uhm...thank...you...” She mumbled and looked down.

I gave her an encouraging smile and eventually she smiled back. Just a little bit, but she smiled.

“So anyway, now that you’re awake we should...sort of...see a real doctor...I don’t know if I did that...” I pointed at the bandage. “...properly.”

“You’re...right...maybe.” She muttered.

So we left the house and headed for the town’s hospital. There we had a short talk with an Earth Pony stallion named Doctor Horse (god, all these references are making me sick). He examined Fluttershy’s wound and said, that, although it wasn’t a severe injury, it was good that we took care of it so fast. He also added that the bandage looked like it had been arranged by a professional.
I never felt that proud again.

“Would an additional doctor’s cutie mark be too much? Probably yes...”

Doctor Horse changed the bandage again and we could finally leave. I felt relieved that she wasn’t injured too bad and accompanied her on her way home. I didn’t exactly why I did it. Maybe I just wanted to be a gentlecolt, or I just enjoyed her company. We talked about different common things on the way. Nothing special, just Smalltalk...or maybe more like...flirting. I quickly drove away the ridiculous thought.

“Stop it! You just like her as a friend. There’s nothing wrong about that.”

But still... I had this strange feeling, that it was more than simple sympathy, I felt for her.
I just wanted to say her goodbye, when she offered me to come in and have some tea.
I didn’t know what to do. On the one hand I wanted to leave as fast as possible, because i didn’t seem to be sure about my feelings for her, but on the other hand it would be impolite to turn her offer down. She obviously wanted to thank me for helping her and I still felt bad, because after all it was my fault that she got hurt.
I thought if I should tell her that it was me who destroyed the tree and was indirectly responsible for her injury. But what would I tell her?

“Hey Fluttershy, you know what’s funny? In fact I’m the guy who blew up that tree and nearly killed you, but now that it’s all over we can laugh about it, right? No, that’s probably a bad idea...” I tried to imagine the situation.

So I followed her inside. She disappeared into the kitchen and started making tea. I sat down on the sofa and waited. After a few minutes Fluttershy came back with two cups of tea. We started Smalltalk again and actually I thought it would be sort of awkward, but it actually wasn’t. Then after some time I brought up a question that had bothered me since I found her in the park.

“What were you actually doing in the park? I mean you were alone and hid behind a bush.”

She looked down and said nothing. At first I didn’t understand why, but then I saw a tear running down her cheek.

“Oh god, what have I done?” I panicked.

“I’m..I’m so-sorry Fluttershy, i didn’t mean to...hurt you or...” I stammered.

Fluttershy didn’t say anything. She just sobbed and then suddenly...she hugged me! She hugged me and started crying. I was stunned by her sudden emotional outbreak. What could it be that made her so troubled? I didn’t know what to do so I started patting her back to calm her down.

“Geez, Fluttershy, what happened?”

She sobbed again and started whimpering:

“I-I-It’s BIgMac...me...and him we...we broke u-hu-hup.” She began to cry again before even finishing her sentence.
I suddenly felt much closer to her now. Finally, somepony who had to go through the same crap as I had to. I felt that I could tell her. I felt that she would understand me, and that I would finally have somepony to share my emotions with.

“Fluttershy?”

“Mhm...?”

“There’s something I need to tell you...”

Then I started telling her about my relationship with Twilight. To be exact, how it had been before we broke up. It felt good to finally tell somepony about my feelings. Fluttershy didn’t interrupt once. She just patted my back and dried my tears with her wings.

“The Element of kindness at her best...” I thought.

After I finished my lament, Fluttershy started with hers.
Apparently she and BigMac had had problems for quite some time. She wanted him to be more open and sensitive, while he wanted her to be less...well...whiny. Sounded like casual partner problems to me, but as Fluttershy was more sensitive than most Ponies she was also hurt more.
Eventually the yellow Pegasus finished and looked at me with her sad, cyan eyes. She was just TOO cute, right now.

“Uhm...Xenos...I...wanted to...I...thank-“

She didn’t get any further, because I silenced her by pressing my lips on hers. She didn’t even resist, but rather returned the kiss. She tasted a bit like mint and...then I realised WHAT THE FUCK I WAS ACTUALLY DOING!!!
I quickly backed off blushing.

“Eeeeep!” Fluttershy squeaked and hid her face with her mane.

“Oh gosh, Fluttershy I’m so- I mean, I didn-“ I stammered, looking for words.

She said nothing. She just shivered.

What had I done? I didn’t know what to do, but it wouldn’t get better if I just stayed here. So I decided to leave. I was still blushing when I exited. Then I heard the screams...

Chapter 10: Everypony hates me


The screams! They were coming from town. Fluttershy rushed out of the cottage, looking terrified.

“Wha-What’s happening?” She asked nervously.

“I have no buck-“

Then we heard the roar. Fluttershy immediately winced and hid behind my back.

“Eeeep! What was that?”

I recognized the sound of the roar...and it didn’t make me feel better. There was only one creature to make such sounds. I wanted to rush to town, but Fluttershy held me back.

“Wait for me. If it’s an animal it just needs some kindness” She said.

“Fluttershy, stay indoors! It’s a dragon!”

That was a lie. It didn’t sound much like a dragon. However my little lie worked. Fluttershy squeaked and rushed back into her house, locking the door.
I actually didn’t want to lie to her, but...I just didn’t want her to get hurt... I didn’t know why I cared so much for her and wanted to protect her, but right now, that wasn’t important. I finally left Fluttershy’s place and galloped towards the centre of the riot.

“This isn’t good...” I thought.

I knew only one creature to make these sounds. A...

	Switch to Discord

“...HYDRA!!!”

“What?”

Discord was just relaxing in his hammock, sipping on a cup of tea, when he heard the screams. He got up from the hammock stretched his limbs and yawned.

“Oh, Ponyville...You never give poor, old Discord time to relax.” He sighed, then teleported.

Switch to Xenos

I saw it from the far. It was huge. Much larger than the one from the episode (yeah, I still remembered that). It was green and had not four, but six heads. It stomped through the town, crushing everything in its way and biting off large pieces of the houses. Several Ponies were running around screaming and trying not to get stomped into the ground by the giant snake-like creature.
I didn’t know what to do. My magic wasn’t even to close to be powerful enough to even tickle this thing. However I tried to act like a hero and started firing lightning bolts at the monster. As expected it was barely noticed by the Hydra. It just looked at me (with all six heads! Creepy!) and then roared.

“That’s it! Real heroes know when it’s time to retreat! Bye!” I thought.

I already wanted to run off to hide in a barrel, when I suddenly heard a familiar voice.

“What do you think, you’re doing here, little lizard?”

“Discord?”

The former sprit of chaos was floating right in front of the monster, which just glared at him, looking unsteady.

“You can’t just come here and start eating the houses. That’s not what you do as a guest.” He continued.

The Hydra snatched at Discord, who easily dodged the attack.

“Ohohoho, you’re a little grumpy, aren’t you?”

“Is there even ONE thing he will ever take serious?”

Discord started flying around the Hydra’s heads and poked them repeatedly. This made the creature even more furious. It tried to bite Discord, but he was way too fast.

“Nononono, you’re doing it wrong. Look, this is how I do it.”

With this words, he made a brief gesture and one of the Hydra’s heads was hit by a...piano? The crazy draconequus was actually bombing the monster with a rain of pianos, falling down from the sky. The hydra stumbled back, trying to avoid the falling music instruments.

“What, you don’t like music? That’s sad. Have some cakes instead.”

He then started to throw all sorts of cakes at the giant reptile.

“Okay, now it’s getting ridiculous!”

“Everything comes to an end, my friend. Time for you to go to bed, now.” Discord said to the Hydra, which looked pretty deranged now.

Then he touched the monster’s head and both of them simply...disappeared. Everypony gazed at the sky in disbelief.  For a few moments, everything was silent... Then I heard a “Poof” and Discord appeared from a grey cloud of smoke. Everyone just glared at him.

“...Uhm...Tadaa?”

Everypony cheered. They were really...cheering for Discord, who somehow...had summoned another piano and started playing while floating in midair. I was honestly happy now. Finally the Ponies accepted him. Even better, they really LIKED him. It was inspiring, and that meant...time for painting!

I quickly ran home to get my equipment. Then I galloped back to the town centre. I built up my easel and started painting pictures. Happy pictures! Finally, after all the break up stuff, I was happy again. Now that Discord had proven himself to be a nice guy, and Fluttershy sort of...helped me to get over my heartsickness... I felt a lot better.
After some time I noticed that nopony was actually looking what I was doing. That was strange.
No, I’m not that arrogant, that I think, when I’m drawing everypony has to gather and stare at my amazing skills, but...usually, at least one or two Ponies stopped to look at my work. However, that day, none of that happened.
In fact nopony didn’t even seem to notice me. As I watched the Ponies, passing by, I could see, that some of them gave me a depreciative look. What was going on?
I got even more suspicious, when a little filly, tried to get a closer look, but was immediately dragged away by her mother, who whispered something while looking at me in a strange way.

“Seriously, what the buck?”

What had I done wrong? Then I saw Spike in the distance.

“Maybe he knows something.”

I waved at the little dragon, but he didn’t seem to notice me. Or did he try to ignore me?

“Hey, Spike!” I called him.

He stopped, but didn’t turn around. I walked up to him, but he still didn’t turn around

“What’s wrong?”

Then I saw his face. He didn’t look very happy. He actually looked really angry.

“Something…worng…Spike?” I asked carefully.

He just stared at me and clenched his fists.

“Uhm…Spike?”

“I’ll tell you what’s bucking wrong!!!” He suddenly broke out. “Twilight has locked herself in her bedroom for hours now and won’t stop crying! The only thing I could get out was, that you idiot broke up with her, and obviously weren’t really much of a gentlecolt. In fact you must have acted like a total jerk. I never saw her so devastated. Now I can't even enter the library anymore because she has cast a magical barrier around it.  THAT’S ALL YOUR FAULT!”

I didn’t know what to say. Sure, I had said some things I probably shouldn’t have, but…Twilight didn’t even seem to be offended when I left. She was just incredibly angry. However I couldn’t really believe that my words had hurt her so much. At least it explained why everypony avoided me…

“Spike, listen I-“ I tried to explain, but he cut me off.

"I don’t want to hear it. You better never show up at the library again! And by the way, Congratulations, you just lost a friend.”

With these words he turned around and trotted away. I was just standing there with my mouth open. Again, I felt like an idiot and wanted to cry, but I realized that everypony was staring at me. And they didn’t look friendly. So I made an angry face to hide my frustration and rushed away. When I was sure that they couldn’t hear me any more I stopped holding back and let the tears flow…

“Not again! Not now! Not when everything has just turned to good…”

I needed somepony to talk to now. But obviously everyone had already heard the news and thought I was an idiot. Who could I talk to without being referred to as a jerk? Then I remembered the only Pony, who wasn’t interested in what happened in town…Doctor Whooves. With a little spark of hope I headed towards Ditzy’s house…

Chapter 11: Doctor Whooves is a psychiatrist


I arrived at Ditzy’s house and looked into the garden. The blue phone box was still there.

“At least this time, he’s here when I need him...”

The Doctor seemed to be nowhere, so I knocked at the door of the TARDIS. Nopony answered. I looked around.

“Maybe he’s inside the house...”

I went back to the front door and knocked it. This time the door opened. It was the Doctor, he looked a bit annoyed, but immediately smiled when he saw me.

“Xenos. Haven’t seen you in a while. How was the exhibition?” He asked.

I supposed he had no idea what had been going on in town, since I got the letter.

“You don’t know what had happened in the last few days?” I asked him.

“Well Ditzy is in Fillydelphia currently...so nopony’s informing me about stuff.” He grinned sheepishly.

“What is she doing in Fillydelphia?” I asked surprised.

“Well, it turns out that there is an annual mailpony congress. But what do you mean with ‘what’s going on in town’?”

I sighed.

“Well, a lot has happened since I left for the exhibition. Let’s start there. When we arrived to Canterlot, something had happened.” I stopped to build up tension.

“That would be?” The Doctor asked curiously.

“The statue of Discord had disappeared.”

“Wait, wait!” He interrupted. “THE Discord? The spirit of chaos and disharmony?”

“Exactly. It turned out that he had been freed from his stone prison.”

The Doctor looked alert.

“However...” I continued. “...it seemed that he had changed.”

“Discord? Changed? That’s a bit hard to believe.” The Doctor stated nervously.

“In fact he has... but later about that. Anyway, Princess Celestia wanted me and twilight to take him to Ponyville, so he could...like...start a new life.”

“But of course, you rejected...” He interrupted again.

“Uhm...no...In fact, I was happy to help him, but...well...Twilight wasn’t.” I said.

“Understandable...”

I ignored his objection and continued:

“We were just about to leave, when suddenly a magical interference happened.”

“A...magical interference...what exactly is that?” Doctor Whooves asked.

“I can’t really explain it. It happens when something enters this dimension from the outside...and it hurts like hell.”

“How comes I didn’t feel anything back then?”

“I guess it can be sensed only by unicorns, as they own magic... By the way, this would explain why I was unconscious when I came here.”

“You mean, because you were in the centre, or to be exact, the cause of the interference, the immense pain knocked you out?” He concluded.

“Exactly!”

He was really smart, but he wouldn’t be called “The Doctor” for nothing, right?

“So where did I stop...Celestia found out that the cause of the interference was near Ponyville...once again. She sent us there with a teleportation spell. With ‘us’ I mean, me, Twilight, Spike, Rarity, and Discord.”

“So what was the cause?”

“ A dimension traveller too. A human like I was.”

Doctor Whooves looked surprised.

“How did you know it was a human? He was transformed into a Pony too, wasn’t he?”

“No, in fact, he wasn’t and even stranger he had wings...for some reason. It turned out that his name was Dave and he came from...Equestria.”

“What? Does that mean there are two Equestrias?”

“Well...sort of. Dave claimed he originally came from the human universe too. This could mean that there are many different Equestrias, and only one earth, but I think-“ I began, but was interrupted.

“...you think it’s more likely that there is a big universe that contains many smaller ones.”

I was surprised. Could he read minds?

“Yeah, exactly... Like...a universe in a universe...UNIVERCEPTION!!!”

“Uhm...what...does that mean?” He looked confused.

“Never mind...just some sort of a running gag... Anyway, this Dave-guy came here on accident, and had no idea how to get back to his world. So...kind as I am, I offer him to stay at my house too, together with Discord.”

“And it didn’t work out well...”

“Well...at first it actually did. It was a bit difficult to introduce both of them, but finally the other Ponies accepted their presence, but then Dave did something really stupid...”

“That would be?” The Doc asked.

“It happened to be, that in his universe, he has a crush on Rainbow Dash, adn his world’s Rainbow has a crush on him too. In our universe, however, Dash was rather creeped out by him. So he decided to show that he’s a nice guy and a hero. Basically that wasn’t a bad idea. What made it stupid, was the fact that he brought a manticore to town, to fight it.”

“He was really that stupid?”

“Unfortunately, yes. He overestimated himself and got knocked unconscious. Rainbow Dash had to save the day and as you can guess, she wasn’t very pleased about Dave’s behaviour. After that Dave was all depressed and stuff, but then the guy who sent him here took him back...or was it another guy...I don’t know, they were talking in his brain.”

“That sounds a bit...strange. He had voices in his head? Sounds like schizophrenia to me.”

“I know what it sounds like, but it was true. Discord read his mind and sort of...translated the conversation. Anyway, the mind-guy finally took him back to his universe.”

“So everything’s happy again?”

I cringed a little.

“No...no, it’s not...After Dave left our world, I went to the library to have a talk with Twilight...and it didn’t end well.”
“What do you mean?” The Doctor asked curiously.

I tried to hold back the tears. I didn’t want to remember what had happened.

“We...her and I...we...broke up.” I stammered and snivelled.

“Oh...I...uhm...oh... You never told me that you and Twilight...like...”

“We wanted to make it official, but...now it’s not necessary anymore, I guess.”

The Doctor patted my back.

“Don’t cry, my friend. These things happen. Life goes on.” He said calmly.

“How do you know?”

“I don’t. It’s just what a good friend has to say.”

I smiled a little. At least I got one loyal friend.

“Thanks, Doc. That means a lot to me. After all, there’s one Pony, who doesn’t hat me” I said.

“Why would I hate you?”

“Well...” I began with a sheepish grin. “...apparently I wasn’t very much of a gentlecolt when we broke up. In fact I said some things I don’t even want to remember. Twilight didn’t seem very hurt back then, but...it seems she actually was. Spike told me that she had locked herself in the library and had been crying all day...That was when he quit our friendship. Oh, and by the way, everypony thinks I’m an asshole now, and no one wants to talk to me.” I managed to say all that without crying, although I was close to.
The Doctor sighed.

“Well, from your point of view all this seems unfair, but you have to think like them. First you brought them Discord back, then this Dave, who caused a manticore to attack the city and finally obviously hurt Twilight very deep. If I didn’t know you I would be...angry...too.” He explained.

He was right. I couldn’t blame the others for hating me. However I had been right. Discord had changed. He had saved the town and now everyone accepted him and I became the public enemy... That’s what I told the Doctor.
He rubbed his chin.

“I can understand that it feels unfair, but I think I have a solution for this problem.”

“That would be?”

“Make an official apology...like politicians. Just apologize for what you’ve done, make up with Twilight and soon everyone will accept you again.”

“But...I was right. I did nothing wrong. I was right in every way.” I protested.

He just looked at me.

“You know...sometimes it’s better to give in than to insist that you’re right. If you show regret, Twilight will understand it. She’s reasonable mare after all.”

I felt more confident now.

“Thank you. I think I know what to do now.”

He smiled.

“However...” I continued. “What actually happened after your Date with Ditzy?”

The Doctor cringed a little and blushed.

“Oh my god, did you actually...?” I asked in disbelief.

“NO! No! Not that...it was just a little embarrassing, but we didn’t...NO!” He quickly negated.

“So what happened then? Every time I asked Ditzy, she just giggled.”

He sighed.

“If you really want to know... At the date I drank a lot wine...too much obviously. Apparently I passed out and Ditzy had to carry me all the way home. From what she told me, it happened like this: When she arrived she dropped me on her bed, but was so tired and fell asleep right next to me. This resulted in an awkward awakening. I thought the same you did, but Ditzy thankfully explained everything to me. And that’s it. That’s what happened on my date.” He finished and smiled sheepishly.

Although I was still a little depressed, I had to laugh. The story was just too ridiculous.

“So you literally...ended up in bed with her, although not in the common sense, right?”

The Doctor blushed and chuckled.

“That’s probably the right word, yes.” He grinned.

I felt a lot better now. Now I thought that I had finally got the balls to face twilight again. I said goodbye to Doctor Whooves and went back home. Before I would go and see her I wanted to, at least, wash my face. My eyes were all red from crying.
When I arrived at home, Discord was already expecting me.

“You got mail.” He said with a monotonous computer-like voice.

I wondered where he came up with that reference.

“Mail?”

“Yes, mail form a friend of ours.” He responded in a cheerful voice.

“A friend of...Oh it’s a letter from Dave, right?”

Discord just nodded, then teleported to my side with the letter in his paw. I grabbed it with my magic and started to read.

Dear Xenos.

I have not written earlier because I have been unconscious for almost a week because I crashed into RD while we were having a race. So that was irritating, but it was good to know that I saved her life in that fall, she also stayed by my side the whole time in the hospital.

Besides that, she kissed me for the first time as well, but only on the cheek though, maybe soon for the rest…

And we also had a date, we watched a Wonderbolts show from the VIP-Booth, I paid of course and I must say those tickets are really expensive. There was one thing that stood out a lot there, and that was that my friend had sent in a song that we heard during the competition and a bit before. Good for him.

I have nothing else to say except that I am happy to be home and I hope you get together with Twilight soon.

I smiled. This letter really made my day. It encouraged me even more.

“Do you want to reply now?” Discord asked.

I smirked.

“No...not now. First I have to do something important. I’m going to make up with Twilight.”

“Good luck then. I suppose you don’t need me then, so...Arrrrrevederci!” He said and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

I smiled again. Then I went to the bathroom and washed my face and even combed my hair. Finally I stepped out of the house.

“Be prepared Ponyville, here I come!”

It will contain some chapters that wouldn't fit in the regular storyline, for example a detailed Chapter about the Doctor's and Ditzy's date. Chapter 12: It’s official, I’m an idiot


I walked through the streets. Everypony gave me disparaging looks. I didn’t care. By the end of the day, everything would be alright again. At least that’s what I thought.
I arrived at the library and stopped right in front of the door. I didn’t notice anything about the magical barrier Spike had mentioned, so I guessed Twilight had calmed down.

“Okay, just go in there and admit you’re mistakes. Then you kiss her and everything’s alright again.”

I took a final deep breath and stepped in.

“Twilight I want to-“

I didn’t get any further, because my jaws dropped. There was Twilight...and she was hugging...Big Macintosh!!! Twilight noticed me and gasped. She immediately let go of Big Mac.

“Oh...uhm...Hi, Xenos...we were just...talking about you.” She stammered.

I couldn’t believe my bucking eyes. A few hours ago she had locked herself in her room to cry and now...this. I just glared at them. Big Mac looked as stoic as always, while Twilight seemed to look for words.

“It’s not exactly...what it looks like. It’s-“ She didn’t get a chance to finish a sentence.

“JUST SHUT UP!!! I came here, because I wanted to apologize and all I see is...you and him. No wonder that you locked the library. You two were really busy, I guess!” I growled.

Big Mac just raised an eyebrow, while Twilight’s jaws dropped and her eyes widened.

“You think we-“

“JUST FUCKING SHUT IT! And for you...” I turned to Big Mac. “You just broke up with your marefriend...and what’s the first thing you do? You hit on somepony else’s?”

I saw how his eyes slowly narrowed and he stomped his hoof on the ground. He looked very angry now.

“What do ya know about Fluttershy?”

I grinned evil.

“Oh, I got to know her a little bit more! Let’s just say...she was hit by a motherbucking explosion and I saved her life!” I shouted.

The red stallion turned pale.

“Fluttershy’s hurt? Mah Fluttershy’s hurt?!”

“Your Fluttershy? YOUR FLUTTERSHY??? You don’t bucking deserve her. She deserves better. Do you even know how much you hurt her? Do you know it? I do. BECAUSE SHE TOLD ME!!!”

My heart was bumping at an insane speed now. I felt so much hate for this arrogant stallion. Or did I just pretend to?
Big Mac just looked at me and snorted. Then he suddenly shouted with an extremely angry voice:

“DON’T YA EVER DARE TO SAY THAT AGAIN! If there’s one who doesn’t deserve his marefriend it’s you! What did ya do for Twilight? Nothing! Ya behaved like a complete (I didn’t know that word, but it sounded like a very rough cuss). YOU don’t deserve anypony!”

That was the final straw. I felt nothing but rage anymore. I dashed at Big Mac trying to smash my hoof into his face. However the red stallion seemed to have a little more fighting experience than me. He easily dodged my attack and I crashed into a bookshelf.

“Quit it! Ah don’t want to hurt ya.” He tried to hide his anger.

“That’s too bad, because I want to hurt YOU!” I hissed and jumped at him again.

This time he didn’t just dodge. He ducked and slammed his head into my stomach. I felt the pain and collapsed. I also heard Twilight scream:

“STOP IT!!!”

But I didn’t even think of stopping. I got up again and lost control over my body and mind. I charged a lightning bolt with my horn and aimed for Big Mac. Both he and Twilight looked shocked. I didn’t know what would have happened if I actually got a chance to shoot, but it didn’t happen anyway.
It was Twilight’s reaction that prevented me from making a terrible mistake. She quickly fired a magic beam at me, which knocked me back and smashed me against the wall.
Everything started to turn blurry, so I quickly shook the dizziness away. When I could see clear again I noticed a pretty furious Twilight glaring at me.

“WHAT. WERE. YOU. THINKING?” She shouted.

“What I was thinking? What were YOU thinking, when you and he...” I pointed at Big Mac.”...did...whatever you were doing...?”

Twilight clenched. She looked like she was about to explode.

“WHAT WE WERE DOING??? Big Mac came and asked me for advice. He wanted to make up with Fluttershy again and wanted my help. Yes, I hugged him. To comfort him!”

“Then why were you so surprised when I came in. As if you didn’t want me to see it!” I yelled back.

“Of course I didn’t want you to see it, because I thought you would draw wrong conclusions, which you obviously did! And you know why? BECAUSE YOU’RE A SELFISH, JEALOUS PRICK! And I NEVER! EVER! want to see you again.”

“Oops...”

“I-, I-....”

I couldn’t say anything. She was right. She was right in every way. I was selfish. I was jealous. And most of all, I was real prick. A motherfucking asshole. I went mad at Big Mac for simply hugging Twilight, despite the fact that I actually KISSED his ex-marefriend.
I didn’t know what to say, so I stood up and left the library. I could feel Twilight’s eyes piercing me, so I just looked down. I couldn’t stand her look right now. Outside I just wanted to cry, but couldn’t. I was too stunned by what had happened. I was even ready to kill myself, but how would I do that? Equestria wasn’t the place for suicide, so I dropped that thought.
I needed somepony’s shoulder to cry on, but I didn’t know who I could visit. Everypony hated me and they would hate me even more, when they heard about all this. I couldn’t even face the Doctor now. I screwed it up so badly, I didn’t even deserve any friends.
I decided to go home to hide under my bed, or maybe try to drown myself in the bathroom. I hoped that at least Discord wasn’t at home. Unfortunately he was...

“HAPPY MAKE UP WITH TWILIGHT DAY!” He shouted, when I entered the house.

Everything was decorated. There was even a banner showing a very amateurish drawing of me and Twilight kissing. Now I couldn’t hold back the tears and started crying like a foal.
Discord looked irritated and then his expression darkened.

“You screwed it up again, right?”

I just nodded. Then he teleported to my side and...Slapped me with his paw?

I stumbled back, stunned by the rude behaviour.

“Pull yourself together for Celestia’s sake. You had a chance, but you screwed it up like an idiot. I felt sorry for you the whole time, but now...you’re just pathetic!”

His words were harsh, but true.

“It doesn’t matter anymore. That’s it. Twilight’s never going to like me again.” I sobbed.

“Do you even listen to yourself?! You sound like a wimp. Now use your brain and think of a plan how to make everything right!” He shouted.

“Don’t you get it? It’s over. Forever.”

“What? You’re gonna give up like that? No way. You’re going to your room and work out a great plan how to bring you two together again!”

“But-“

“NO BACKTALK!”

He sounded just like my mother. This eventually made me...do what he said. I went into the bedroom, locked the door and started thinking.
I thought and thought and thought... until I had a plan. Not a great plan, but it was worth a try. I slammed the door open.

“Discord! I’ve got it. I have an idea. But we need a few things for it: First we need a bunch of music instruments, a recording studio, a female singer, a-“

“Wait, wait. I guess you want to record a song, right? Do you have the song in mind?” he interrupted me.

“Uhm...yeah...why?”

“Because...my little uninformed friend...I can record it right from your mind.”

“You can really...do that?” I asked in disbelief.

“I’m the spirit of chaos, I can do whatever I want.” He responded briefly.

“Good then...listen to this.” I said and concentrated to replay the song in my head.

Discord raised an eyebrow.

“Don’t you think that’s a little bit...too cheesy...especially for Twilight?” He asked.

“Oh...it’s not for Twilight. It’s for somepony else. To be exact for two other Ponies.” I said with a grin.

“Now you got me interested. Carry on...”

Chapter 13: I love it when a plan comes together


I was on my way to Fluttershy’s cottage, thinking of a good reason for visiting her.

“I’ll just say that I wanted to know how her injury was doing...”

I arrived at the house and knocked at the door. Fluttershy opened and greeted me with a warm smile.

“Did she just blush?”

“Oh...hello...Xenos. I didn’t expect...you.” She said in her usual low voice.

I really had to pull myself together not to hug her. She was just too adorable.

“Well...I just wanted to...look how your wound is doing.” I tried to sound casusal.

“Oh...yes...my wound.” She sounded slightly disappointed. “It’s...fine now...thanks to your help.”

A moment of silence.

“Can we...like...go inside? There’s something I need to talk about with you...” I said discreetly.

“Oh...that’s okay...I guess. Come in.” She mumbled.

Was it just me or was she trying to hold back a smile?
Inside, Fluttershy went to the kitchen to make some tea. I sat down on the sofa and waited. How would I ask her?
She came back with two cups of tea. I thanked her and took the cup with my magic and slowly began to drink. I noticed that she watched me every move. It was sort of cute, but also creepy.

“Just ask her...”

“Uhm...Fluttershy?” I began.

“Hmm?”

She looked at me with her big cyan eyes. I started to feel a bit uncomfortable.

“I...uhm...wanted to ask you if you...like...have time to...sort of...hang out with me...this evening...maybe?” I stuttered.

She just glared at me. Then her expression brightened.

“I would love to.” She squeaked.

The way she pronounced love made me feel a little bit worried. I hoped she didn’t take it too serious. Otherwise she would be very disappointed then.

“Then...can we probably meet at about...7 o’ clock...in the park...at the big oak...if that is okay for you?”

She just nodded with a wide grin.

“Then...uhm...see you...I guess.” I mumbled and quickly left the cottage.

“Damn, that was awkward” I thought when I went outside.

So far, everything went well. Now it was time to get to step two of my plan...

Switch to Fluttershy

He had asked her out! He had really asked her out! Well...he didn’t officially ask her, but she was sure that he meant it that way. Fluttershy was so excited. Except from Big Mac, no stallion had ever asked her out.

“Big Mac...”

Thinking about him still hurt a little, but now... Fluttershy didn’t think she was in love, but after all the heartsickness it was good to finally find a nice stallion.
She caught herself thinking of Big Mac again.

“Stop it! You broke up. It’s over. Time to look for somepony new.”

Xenos...strange name...but he was all nice and friendly. He wouldn’t complain about her, sometimes difficult, nature.
She looked at the clock. There was still a lot of time until their...date. Was it a date? She didn’t know. She was so excited, though. She felt appreciated again. Humming a happy song, she went into the bathroom to make herself up. She wanted it to be perfect.

Switch to Big Macintosh

Big Mac was working. He had been bucking apples all day. Actually it wasn’t even applebucking season, but he needed to release some anger, even if it just meant to kick some trees. That green unicorn...what was his name again? Not only did he insult Twilight, but also he claimed that he had saved Fluttershy’s life. Big Mac would have done the same if he had known what had happened.

“You don’t deserve her!!!”

That’s what that guy had said, but he had no idea. However it was sort of true. Big Mac really hadn’t been that nice to Fluttershy. He loved her, but she was difficult sometimes. Very difficult.  He had just wanted to tell her that. It should have been a calm and reasonable talk. Unfortunately he had been a bit...too forthright. He should have known better. Fluttershy had always been very sensitive. Anyway, everything turned into a major quarrel and resulted in a break up.
Big Mac sighed.
That’s why he had visited Twilight. He needed solace...or was it something else. He had always considered Twilight to be kind of attractive. She was always acting a bit more...restrained than other Ponies. Just like him.

“And just like Fluttershy...” He thought and sighed again.

Maybe it wasn’t that bad. After all Twilight had also broken up with this...douchebag. That guy really was a douche. After Big Mac had...sort of...cried on Twilight’s shoulder, she had told him her story too. It wasn’t nice to hear. That idiot had said things, nopony should ever say to a mare. He was the one who didn’t deserve a marefriend.
Big Mac thought. Maybe he should ask Twilight out for a date? Would that be insensitive? After all she had just broken up and he didn’t want to make the same mistake twice.
Suddenly he heard someone calling his name. He turned around and saw his sister Applejack heading towards him.

“Big Mac, here’s a letter for ya.”

“A letter?”

Big Mac was surprised. He never got letters. He grabbed the letter and opened the envelope. A short message was inside.

Meet me in the park, at the big oak at 7.

A friend.

That was a bit strange. No addresser was mentioned. What was this? Some sort of a prank?
Big Mac thought. The invitation looked like it would lead right into some sort of trap, but...did he have enemies? Probably Twilight’s ex-coltfriend, but even for that guy, this would be pretty weird.

“Maybe it’s from...a mare?”

He didn’t know why he came up with that thought. He never dated any mares but Fluttershy before, but did that mean that other mares couldn’t be interested in him? He had honestly never thought about that. After some more thinking he decided to go for the ‘invitation’.

“It ain’t gonna be that bad...”

Switch to Fluttershy

10 minutes before 7. Fluttershy was waiting in the park, right next to the big oak, just like they had arranged. She was really nervous. What would they do? What should she talk about? All these questions rushed through her mind, when suddenly she heard somepony walking in the distance.

“That must be him!”

She quickly straightened her mane and set up a bright smile before turning around and looking right at...Big Mac?

“Uhm...hi...Big Mac?” She began carefully.

...

“Hi.” The red stallion responded briefly.

“What are you...I mean...why are you here?”

“Somepony send me a letter. I should meet him or her right here...and ya?”

“I- I- was just-I mean I-.” Fluttershy couldn’t bring out a single sentence.

On the one hand she...somehow...just wanted to hug him and turn everything back to the time when they were together...but on the other hand she was here to meet Xenos...
Suddenly she noticed a quiet melody, playing from somewhere around. A strange melody, but somehow romantic.  As it continued she noticed that it wasn’t just a melody, but a song. A beautiful song actually. A song she had never heard before...

(Author’s note: This, I am talking about.)

“Were does this come from?” Big Mac asked with a confused look on his face.

“I- I don’t know” Fluttershy said quietly.

All her feelings were rushing. Big Mac, and the music, and  everything in the past, and...

“NO! Stop it!”

They were just standing there, no one moving, the music still playing. Fluttershy didn’t know what to do. Should she just stay like this, until something happened?

Fortunately Big Mac finally broke the awkward situation:

“Ah think, ah should be going now. Doesn’t seem like mah mysterious friend will turn up and-“

“GAH, just kiss already!”

Fluttershy shrieked. Somepony had just jumped out of a bush.

“Xenos???” She called out in disbelief.

“What are YOU doin’ here?” Big Mac asked as his eyes narrowed.

“What I’m doing here? I’m trying to bring you two together again, for Celestia’s sake, but you’re really making it hard for me.”

Fluttershy blushed heavily.

“I thought...you would...we would...” Fluttershy stammered.

She didn’t know what to think right now. Then Xenos spoke up:

“Fluttershy...listen...I do like you, but not that kind of like. After our little...incident, I had a lot time to think.”

“INCIDENT???” Big Mac yelled.

“Please, Big Mac. Not THAT sort of incident.” The green stallion said and turned back to her. “I like you...as a friend!”

Fluttershy was stunned.

“Then what...what is all this about?”

She pointed at Big Mac.
Xenos sighed.

“Look...you two fit together perfectly. I can see that. Everypony can! You had a minor break up, but that’s not a problem. Those things happen in a relationship.”

He paused for a moment and then continued:

“I had a break up myself. I know how hard it is, and after all I realise how much I want Twilight back.”

Fluttershy noticed a tear running down his cheek.

“What I want to say is...I regret what I did in the past and whatever had or will happen between me and Twilight...it shouldn’t concern you two. If I can’t get my own romance settled than at least I can settle yours” He finished and took a deep breath.

Fluttershy looked at Big Mac, who just gazed at Xenos. She was honestly touched by the heart-warming speech. Then Xenos, spoke up again:

“You know...Big Mac...I’m sorry what I said to you. I didn’t mean anything of that. I was just frustrated and hated myself. I don’t want us to be enemies.”

He walked up to the red stallion and raised his hoof.

“Peace?”

Big Mac looked at the stallion, with an indefinable expression on his face. Then..finally he raised his hoof too and shook the unicorn’s.

“Peace...” he responded with a smile

Xenos smiled too.

“No go and get your girl back.” He said with a smirk.

That wasn’t necessary. Fluttershy jumped at her favourite Earth Pony and hugged him tightly.

“I missed you so much.” She mumbled as she nuzzled his chest.

Big Mac was obviously surprised by the sudden emotional outbreak, but then smiled and returned the hug.

“Ah missed ya too, Fluttershy...”

The music was still playing...and it made her feel happy. Very happy...

Switch to Xenos

“Daaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww.”

I tried hard not cry at that simply adorably cute sight. I failed though. Manly tears were running down my cheeks. Tears of joy. Those two were just such a sweet couple. They started to kiss so I decided that it was time to leave now.
When I was about to go, Big Mac turned to me.

“Xenos?”

“Yeah?”

“Thank ya.”

I smiled.

“If there’s anything Ah can help ya with...just ask.”

I smiled even brighter.

“There is in fact a certain issue, I could use your help...”

He looked at me with a questioning expression. I just grinned

Switch to Twilight

Twilight had just got up and was about to make herself some breakfast, when suddenly someone knocked the door. She drove her fatigue away and opened the door. Standing there was Big Macintosh. He smiled at her.

“Mornin’ Twilight.” He greeted friendly.

“Good Morning Big Mac. What brings you here? What about you and Fluttershy?”

“We’re fine. We’re together again.” He said with a smile.

“That’s great. I’m really happy for you, but...do you need my help with something?” She asked.

“In fact, Ah do. It’s a bit difficult to explain, but ya need to come with me to the town centre.” He responded.

“The town centre? Why? Has something bad happened?”

“Nnope.”

“Then why should I go there?”

“As Ah said, it’s a bit difficult to explain, but I’d be thankful if ya’d just follow me.”

Twilight raised an eyebrow. What was he up to? She decided to follow him, as she would never find out otherwise.
Then they both headed for the town hall.

Switch to Big Macintosh

So far, everything went well. He had convinced Twilight to follow him, just like Xenos wanted him to do. He didn’t know what the weird unicorn had planned, but he seemed quite sure about it.

“Ah just hope it doesn’t end in a catastrophe...”

Switch to Twilight

They arrived at the town hall. A platform was built up in front of it. A crowd of Ponies had gathered around the platform.

“Uhm...what is this supposed to be?” She asked Big Mac

He just shrugged.

“Ah have no idea. Just go up there.” He said and pointed at the platform.

Twilight was really confused now. Did he want her to hold a speech or something? About what? And why?
Looking back, she didn’t know why she did it, but she just shrugged and went up on the platform. There was a speaker’s desk. Everypony gazed at her as she walked up to it.

“Twilight, what is this all about?” Someone asked.

“I have no idea. I was told to come here. I don’t know more than you do.” She responded helplessly.

“I’ll tell you, why you’re here.” A voice called.

Twilight looked in the direction the voice was coming from. Standing there was...Xenos?

“What’s he doing here?”

The green stallion began to walk towards the platform, everpony staring at him in confusion.

“Twilight Sparkle, Element of Harmony, Princess Celestia’s most faithful student, twice saviour of the world, and...”
He paused for a moment. “...the love of my life.”

Twilight’s jaws dropped.

“Did he really just say that???”

Xenos continued:

“I have said things in the past. Things I deeply regret. Things you should never have to hear again...And I’m sorry. I know that sounds pathetic now, but...I don’t know another way to say this. Twilight, the last few days had probably been the worst of my life. Why? Because I had lost you.”

He was standing right in front of her now.

“I don’t expect you to forgive me. I just wanted you to know...I want you back, because...I...love...you.”

Then, without any warning, he grabbed her, pulled her towards him and kissed her on the mouth. Everypony gasped. Then he suddenly drew back and just looked at her, waiting for an answer.

Silence...

Twilight didn’t know what to say. After all he had done, he really didn’t deserve a second chance, but...that speech...and she actually missed him and... Instead of answering she just jumped forward and kissed him again.
Everone cheered.
She had to admit...she had really missed his lemon flavoured lips. The sweet and sour taste of his mouth. She actually didn’t want to give in that easily, but her feelings overwhelmed her. So there they were...in love again.

Switch to Xenos

I felt so goddamn relieved, when she finally kissed me  back.

“Oh you raspberry flavoured lips. I missed you so much...”

I had done it like a boss. The plan, the speech, the kiss, everything. However I have to admit, that I nearly shit my pants (although I don’t wear any), when I had to do that apology. I had never felt the need to pee so badly. But it didn’t matter now, because I did it. I bucking did it, and made up with my favourite lavender unicorn. The reward couldn’t be better. There was so much love in this kiss, that I nearly got an erection.
I looked around and saw Twilight’s friends gathering around us. I let go of my marefriend adnn smiled at them...and they smiled back. Finally I wasn’t the target of hate anymore. I also saw Big Mac in the distance. He just gave me an approving smile.

“Stoic as always.”

Suddenly I felt someone poking my leg. I looked down and saw...Spike. He grinned sheepishly.

“I guess...it’s my turn to apologize now, right?” He started.

I just grabbed him and gave him a big Bromance hug.

“F-f-friends again?” He asked insecure.

“You can bet your life on that.” I cheered with a smile.

Then I hugged Twilight again. I saw a tear on her cheek and felt my emotions breaking through too.

“We should...never...ever...do that again.” She mumbled.

“At least everything ended good...” I answered.

We kissed again. The others looked at us with a ‘daaaaaaawwww’ expression on their faces.

“I think you were right...” Twilight then spoke up. “Discord really isn’t that bad anymore.”

“Oh, now you agree?” I asked sarcastically.

“Yes...yes, now I do. It was silly to break up, just because of a minor disagreement and after everything all I’ve heard he has really proven to be a better...uhm...draconequus. I guess, I can send the elements back to the Princess now.”

“The elements? You mean the elements of harmony?”

“Yes. The Princess sent them to me, after we returned to Ponyville, in case of Discord falling in relapse. It was just a safety measure.”

Another kiss.

“I’m just happy everything is back to normal again and looking back...that whole brak up was...sort of ridiculous...especially your last line.” I smirked.

“Last line? What do you mean?” She asked confused.

“You know...” I looked at the other Ponies watching us, then whispered into Twilight’s ear. “When you said: I faked every orgasm...”

She looked even more confused.

“I...I didn’t say that. I would never do that because...uhm..” She blushed. “because it would be....sort of...a lie...”

“I’m pretty sure you did say that.” I insisted. “Those are the things, we males remember.”

“Maybe you misheard it when I ran away.” She suggested.

“You didn’t ran away...I did...and- Oh shit!”

My heart sank to my boots.

“What? What is it?” Twilight asked nervously.

“Twilight! Listen! Where did you keep the elements?”

“At the library, but what-“

“Have you told anyone else about them? Think!”

“I mentioned them to Spike a few ti-“

“Everypony, follow me!” I shouted.

“I- I don’t understand, what-“

“No time for explanations. HURRY, before it’s too late.”

I dashed off and headed for the library, Twilight and her friends following close behind.

“Shitshitshitshitshit! We’re fucked! We’re fucked! We’re fucked!”

Chapter 14:  Fooled!


Twilight didn’t understand what had happened. Why was Xenos suddenly so worried?
They reached the library and Xenos bucked the door open.

“Stop right there!” He yelled.

Twilight tried to get passed him to see who he was talking to. She saw the library in a mess. Books were lying around everywhere. Standing in the middle of all the chaos was...Discord?
Everypony gasped except for Xenos, who just looked grimly. Twilight wanted to say something, but couldn’t. Her tongue felt just too heavy.
Discord was holding a book and shook it to see if there was something inside. Then he tossed it in a corner carelessly. Twilight finally regained her voice.

“Discord!” She yelled. “What in are you doing???” She yelled.

The draconequus chuckled.

“Oh, poor little Twilight. Isn’t it obvious? I’m looking for your precious little Elements of Harmony. Unfortunately you hid them quite well, but that doesn’t matter. I like to play hide and seek.”

Twilight cringed. She had almost believed his lies. She had almost trusted him...But she had been right. She had been right all the time. He hadn’t changed. He had just fooled them all to gain power again.
Twilight’s eyes narrowed. She looked at Xenos, but the green stallion didn’t seem to be surprised by the betrayal. He just glared at Discord. She knew that this wasn’t the right moment, but she couldn’t resist:

“I told you I was right! He is still evil! He hasn’t changed a single bit!” She said.

Xenos didn’t even look at her. He just stared straight forward.

“I’m sorry Twilight, but I think you’re wrong...” He said calmly.

“WRONG??? How can I possibly be wrong now??? He just admitted that he wants to steal the Elements! How much evidence do you need???”

Her eyelid was slightly twitching now. What was his problem? Even a blind foal could see that Discord is evil. However he continued in the same calm manner:

“You’re still wrong, because...this isn’t Discord!”

“WHAT?!?!?”

Switch to Xenos

“WHAT?!?!?” Everyone called out in confusion.

Discord rolled around on...well...the air, laughing.

“Not Discord? Are you blind? It’s clearly him!” Twilight yelled, gazing at me in disbelief.

“Oh Twilight, your coltfriend is a bit faster than you, isn’t he? Come on Xenos. Tell her. You’ve already figured it out.” Discord grinned evil.

I just gave him a dirty look.

“Why don’t you? Give up your disguise and show your real face...Chrysalis!” I shouted.

Everyone gasped.

The draconequus’ body started to vibrate and changed its shape, turning into a tall alicorn...or better...insect alicorn. Her body was covered in a black chitin. With her torn bug wings, the perforated legs, and the oddly shaped horn she looked like a creature straight from a nightmare.
Chrysalis broke out in evil laughter.

“Finally you found out. I thought you would never get it.”

She laughed again.

“I should have noticed it earlier. Let me guess when Twilight and I broke up you took the other one’s place both times, right?”

“Of course I did. I never had that much fun for ages.”

“That explains the rotten smell back then. Ugh, I really kissed that thing.”

“Were you also involved in the Big Mac and Fluttershy thing? Did you try to destroy their relationship too?” I hissed in anger.

“That’s funny. Actually I wasn’t. It just fit perfectly into my brilliant plan, but go on. Where else was I?” She asked provoking.

“Well obviously, you changed to Spike one or two times, to find out where the elements were.” I continued.

“That’s really obvious now, isn’t it?”

“...And I wonder if you had something to do with the Hydra attack too.”

Chrysalis chuckled again.

“Oh it’s funny how smart you are. Yes, I was involved in that. In fact I WAS the Hydra.”

That was surprising. I didn’t expect her to be powerful enough to turn into such a giant creature.

“...but you didn’t imitate Discord until now, right?”

“Again you’re right...”

“...and still...after all, I have no idea what you’re up to...”

More evil laughter from Chrysalis.

“You have nothing to laugh anymore, Chrysalis. You’ve blown your cover and you haven’t got your dirty hooves on the elements yet. In addition we’re eight and you’re alone. Give up! It’s over!” Rainbow Dash yelled.

“Over? It’s not over, little pegasus. It has just begun...because you little fools stepped right into my trap!!!”

Chrysalis suddenly charged a powerful spell and released it without a warning. Thanks to my paranoia I had been prepared for this since we had entered the library. I could put up a magical shield just in time, but the others weren’t fast enough. A mighty energy wave hit them and knocked them down. It was so bright that I had to close my eyes not to get blinded. When I opened them again, I saw the others lying on the floor...and they didn’t move anymore. Fear filled my heart, brain and guts.

“What have you done to my friends, you oversized cockroach?!” I yelled.

Chrysalis chuckled again.

“No need to be insulting. They’re fine...for now! I just cast a little paralysis spell on them. They can see, hear, and feel everything. They just can’t move.”

I had to gain more time to make up a plan, so I decided to ask random questions to distract her.

“I don’t get it. What is all this supposed to be? None of your actions make sense!”

“Oh you little fool! Think you can try to distract me until you figured out a way to outsmart me. Stop trying, you’ve already lost...and that’s why I can reveal you my plan as it doesn’t matter anymore now.”

“Can she read minds too?”

She buzzed with her insect wings, lifted herself into the air and started circling me. My eyes followed her every move. She wouldn’t be able to attack me unprepared.

“So what was the plan? I’ve been watching Ponyville for quite a while, waiting for the right moment to strike. Unfortunately, all the Ponies were horribly alert. It would have been really difficult to remain undetected, but then...a very useful event happened.”

“Useful event?”

“Yes, useful. It was your arrival in Ponyville.”

“What? In which way would you benefit from my arrival?”

“At first I didn’t. At first you were just another dumb little Pony, getting in my way...but then you started your pathetic little romance with Twilight here.” She said and pointed at the paralysed unicorn on the floor.

I had to pull myself together not to simply jump at Chrysalis trying to choke to death. I wouldn’t be able  defeat her in an open fight. She was way too agile and powerful for me.

“And how did my...romance...help your plan?” I hissed, trying not to mentally explode.

“It’s simple. From all the other Ponies, Twilight is the smartest. She would be the first to blow my cover if she notices unusual behaviour from the Ponies in town. However, love can be distracting, right? I used the lack of alertness and managed to sneak into Ponyville’s society.” She responded.

“I understand...Then Discord and Dave appeared and you decided to use the already difficult situation to your advantage. With all the confusion, it was easy for you to remain undiscovered. Am I right?” I concluded.

Chrysalis just laughed and nodded.

“Go on, go on. You’re amusing.”

“...What I still don’t understand is the Hydra attack. What purpose had it?”

“I’m disappointed. After all I expected more from you. It’s obvious: The citizens didn’t trust Discord and after the break up story with Twilight, most of them disliked you. So I attacked the town, disguised as a creature that can only be defeated by a very powerful being and as expected, Discord stepped in and saved the day. Means, he was the hero of Ponyville now, and you became the new public enemy number one.”

“Motherbucking asshole!”

“Why me? I thought the whole romance was useful for you!”

“It was, but frustration and sadness is more distracting than simple love. I watched you since you suddenly appeared out of nowhere and unfortunately...you turned out to be smarter then I thought. It seemed like you were seeing things different than the others. You became a serious threat to my plans. So I did my best to keep you focussed on your own problems.”

“Then Discord really must have been a thorn in your side. He did everything to encourage me to win Twilight back and eventually he succeeded. And what would you say if I tell you that Discord can read minds? What if I just requested his help by thinking?” I interrupted.

The changeling queen just laughed.

“First, I know that he can read minds. Second, we both know that you can’t do that. He can read your mind, but you can’t contact him with yours.”

“How do you know?” I hissed.

Chrysalis chuckled again.

“Because I told her...”

“DISCORD?!?!?!?”

The draconequus had just stepped out of the shadow, slowly clapping his paws.

“Surprise, Surprise! You didn’t see that one coming didn’t you.”

“Wha- wha- what is- wh-“ I stammered, unable to form a proper sentence.

Although my brain had already realised what had happened my heart refused to accept it. I couldn’t believe that all this was really happening.

“Did you really think I would change that easily? Bah, and I thought you knew me. I’m the spirit of disharmony and chaos. Betrayal and lies, that’s what I do.”

I just gazed at him with my mouth open.

“I- I-...I thought you were my FRIEND!” I stuttered.

“Ohohohoho...what made you think that? The fact that I USED you to reach my goal? I’m Discord. I don’t need friends. Ugh. All I need is my daily amount of chaos. Like this.”

He clicked his finger and a raincloud appeared over my head and it started to rain chocolate drops.

“Why? Just...why?”

“Phew, I always thought you to be sensitive. I was trapped in a stone statue for thousands of years. Then, I finally can break free to catch up with all the chaos I missed and suddenly those puny, little Elements of Harmony cross my way and I get stoned again. Do you think that’s fair?”

“You spread disharmony and anarchy. What did you expect? That they’ll just let you do your thing until Equestria is all messed up?” I yelled back.

“No, of course not. How could I even dare to question the decision of the mighty Celestia. Because she totally has the right to define good and evil? Has anyone ever thought that it might be just in my NATURE to create chaos. I was created to do it. My whole life depends on it.” He sounded a bit desperate.

I didn’t know why, but I felt like I could understand him. He wasn’t really evil...he was misunderstood...but still...the betrayal hurt.

“I guess, you didn’t break free on your own, then.”

He chuckled, back in his usual arrogant manner.

“No. That was all little Chrysalis’ plan.”

“Guard your tongue!” Chrysalis hissed.

“Geez, no need to be offended. Anyway, she used a simple spell breaker. The imprisonment spell is far less powerful than you would think.” He laughed.

“How- how did you manage to convince Celestia then?”

“Oh, quite simple. Good old Tia had always been way too sweet-natured. I must have changed, otherwise the spell wouldn’t have been broken. How could she know that a simple spell breaker was enough...but seriously who would ever consider freeing the spirit of disharmony? Ridiculous, isn’t it?”

He grinned at me.

I tried hard to hold the tears back. I had thought him to be one of the best friends I’ve ever had and he...had been lying...the whole time. This feeling was even worse than the pain I suffered after Twilight broke up.

“It’s time to end this now.” Chrysalis spoke up.

“Meh, go ahead and do what you want. Paralyze them and throw them into one of your dungeons. I don’t mind. It’s getting boring.”

“Imprison them? No, no. I will end this forever. I will just kill them.”

“WHAT?!” Discord and I yelled in unison.

He flew to the changeling queens side.

“Slow it down Chrysi. No need to get violent. Trick them? Yes. Humiliate them? Yes. Lock them away in the deepest dungeon possible? Also yes, but killing them? Definitely not! I never agreed to do this.”

“Hah. You? Agree? No one asked for your approval. You should be happy that I freed you.”

“Do you even know who you are talking to? I’m more powerful than you will ever be in your whole lifetime!” He shouted in anger.

“So powerful that six fillies managed to trap you in stone after you already defeated them...You should be happy that I even gave you the opportunity to help me.” Chrysalis responded in an arrogant voice.

I expected him to break out in rage and kick Chrysalis’ flank or something, but he did none of that. He just glared at her, his eyelids twitching. The he snorted and turned around folding his arms.

“That’s all? He’s going to take it like THAT?”

Chrysalis landed in front of me. I backed off charging my magic to deflect her next move.

“Why do you keep resisting? It’s over! First, I will end you and then the others.”

“Why? It wasn’t even them who defeated you. It was Shining Armor and Cadance! Get revenge on them!”

“Did I really just say that? I’m pathetic.”

“It was Twilight who blew my cover and freed Cadance."

“She freed Cadence, because you sent her there. You screwed up your plan all by yourself!”

“Whatever...I will get my revenge on all of them. After I killed Twilight, I’ll make sure that Shining Armor will hear the news. His loved little sister dead...he will be so furious. Means he will instantly come after me...and fall right into a trap. The same thing will happen to Cadance.”

“You’re a monster. Your completely insane. You’re a...a...GRAAAH!” I yelled.

I was literally bursting from rage. I just wanted to jump at that bitch, rip her guts out and choke her with her own intestines (too much?). Only the few remains of my sanity held me back. I wouldn’t have a chance and although I knew I wouldn’t survive this, I didn’t want to die the painful way.
Chrysalis ignored my insults and continued.

“Celestia I will have to imprison her as she is immortal, but...you know...immortal doesn’t mean invincible.”

I noticed Discord cringing a bit.

“You think you’ll get away that easy?!” I hissed.

“Oh, I’m sure I will, but that’s none of your business anymore as you won’t live long enough to see it.”

It was over. I knew it. I thought and thought and thought, trying to find a way to save us all, but there wasn’t any. I could maybe land a quick strike on Chrysalis which would give me time to fell, but...that would mean that I had to leave the others behind...and there was no way I would, or even could do that.
In my desperation I did the last thing that came to my mind. I tried to appeal to Discord’s...I don’t know...maybe...heart?

“Discord! Why are you doing this? You don’t need revenge. You had friends. They started to like you!”

“Like me? Do you even hear what you’re saying? I see their looks. They still hate me. They still FEAR me! You think I could change? I can’t. I am and will always be the spirit of chaos and disharmony. It’s my destiny. A destiniy that doesn’t allow friends!” He shouted.

“But you have changed. I know how you were before. The old Discord wouldn’t help me up when I was down. Not even if it was part of his plan. You have changed. You just don’t want to admit it...and you know what...after all you have done...I would still stand by your side. Why? Because I think...deep inside you...there’s the good Discord...the one that’s my friend.” I finished and took a deep breath.

Discord didn’t say anything. He just gazed at me. I couldn’t tell from his facial expression, but...in his eys I could see that I had moved something inside him.

“Enough of that sweet-talk. Prepare to meet your destiny, Xenos.”

“No...”

“WHAT???”

“I said...no! I will neither allow you to hurt him, nor will I allow you to hurt them!” Discord pointed at the paralysed Ponies on the floor.

“Fool! You dare to challenge Chrysalis, the mighty queen of the changelings?”

“You bet I do...and speaking of yourself in third person doesn’t make you more powerful!”

“YOU WILL REGRET THIS!!!” Chrysalis yelled in anger, rose up into the air and fired a green lightning bolt at Discord.

The draconequus deflected it with his lion’s paw, then charged an energy ball in his other claw and returned fire. Chrysalis dodged the magic projectile and fired three more lightning beams. Discord used his magic to avoid the energy beams and teleported to the side. The bolts crackled against the wall and left three charred spots behind.

“She isn’t playing. She’s really trying to kill him.”

My mind rushed. Discord didn’t seem like he had difficulties handling the changeling queen, but she was a tough opponent. She might not match his magic abilities, but she did have a better combat style. They would fight like this forever. None of them would get the upper hand. I had to do something before they took the whole library apart.
I charged my magic and aimed for the changeling. One simple hit would be enough to distract her so Discord could knock her out. However, she was really fast and steadily changed her flying direction.

“Just one fucking hit!”

I put my whole concentration on that one spell, fired...and struck! Chrysalis staggered and crashed on the ground. I grinned.

“Your FACE beyatch!”

Chrysalis got up and shook her head.

“It’s over Chrysi. Get back where you came from and NEVER. EVER. come back again!” Discord said.

“It’s...not....over....UNTIL I SAY IT’S OVER!”

She suddenly jumped into the air and bucked the draconequus in the chest. Then she charged a deadly lightning and aimed...for Twilight and the others!

“NOOOO!” I screamed and launched at her, trying to slam her. She easily dodged the pathetic attack and bucked me in the head, smacking me into the wall.

“Maybe I lose...but you’ll lose too...YOUR FRIENDS! DIE!”

She fired the deadly beam and the whole room was suddenly brightened up and I had to close my eyes.

“NO, PLEASE NO!”

I felt the light fading, but I didn’t want to open my eyes again. I was too afraid of what I would see.

“He...why...he did...” I heard Chrysalis stammer.

“Who did what?”

I opened my eyes and saw all my friends unharmed...except for one!

“DISCORD!”

The draconequus was lying in a corner. His eyes were closed and there was a charred spot on his chest. It was still fuming.

“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?” I yelled at Chrysalis.

“He just...I mean...he...he threw himself inbetween...He sacrificed himself to save them. Why did he do that???”

“Because he has something you lack! A heart!”

Chrysalis still looked like she couldn’t understand what had just happened. Then her eyes narrowed and she looked at me again.

“Now it’s only you and me again. No one else to interfere  with my plans anymore.”

I swallowed and brought myself into fighting position. My jaw still hurt from her first strike.

“C-c-come at me!” I stuttered.

“With pleasure...”

She then launched at me, faster than I expected, and bodyslammed me against the wall. I didn’t even have to time to charge a spell.

“You aren’t a real opponent. Your weak. You will die like wimp and your friends will too...and I will ensure that it’s in the most painful way possible.”

I was blazing with fury. All my emotions were rushing. She murdered Discord and she wanted to murder my friends too. I wanted to destroy her, crush her like a tiny insect.
Chrysalis fired a lightning bolt. I quickly put up a magical shield. However the power of the spell broke it and I was smashed into the wall again, relatively unharmed though.

“Why do you keep on fighting? You’re doomed. Nothing can save you now. You’re only making it more painful.”

I was just lying there. I felt all my negative emotions rushing. Fear. Hate. Fury. Disgust...All that focussed in my brain combining with the insight, that I was helpless. That Chrysalis had won. That I couldn’t do anything to protect my friends...to protect Twilight...
The last thing I saw was Chrysalis, charging another one of her deadly lightnings. Then everything went black.

Switch to Twilight

Twilight was completely paralysed. The only parts of her body that could move were her eyes and, luckily, her inner organs. She had to watch everything.
Discord. At first he seemed like she knew him from the past. Arrogant, selfish and most of all...a liar. Of course she was shocked...but not surprised. But then...when Chrysalis revealed her real intentions...that she wanted to kill them...kill them all....he showed real care. Twilight could see that he had been struggling with himself. It really was like Xenos had said: Deep inside him, there was a good Discord. And this Discord finally came out and...saved their lives. He sacrificed his own life to save theirs. Twilight really wanted to scream at that moment, but she couldn’t move a single muscle.
And now...everything was over. Chrysalis had just knocked out Xenos, and was about to end his life. Twilight didn’t want to watch, but she couldn’t turn her head away. She couldn’t even shut her eyes. She would have to watch her coltfriend brutally getting killed. She had never felt so much fear before.
Then, suddenly something happened to the green unicorn. He slowly stood up and opened his eyes. His eyes! They looked oddly frightening. They were glowing all red. What was going on?
Chrysalis fired her green beam at him. Twilight’s stomach clenched as she expected Xenos to be tossed into a corner. But none of that happened. The bolt would have hit him right in the head...but it vanished right before his face! Xenos just watched it disappear without even bother to move.

“WHAT? What did you do?” The changeling queen yelled in surprise.

Xenos didn’t respond. He just took one step forward, still glaring at the insect alicorn with his glowing eyes. Then he spoke up...but it wasn’t his voice speaking. I was much more powerful and...sort of...darker voice.

“Chrysalis! You have gone too far! You will pay for what you have done!”

Chrysalis just gazed at him in confusion.

“I have no idea what you did, but I’m not intimidated by your tricks. I’ll end this ridiculousness now. This time my magic won’t fail.”

She launched another lightning and like the one before, it was deflected by Xenos’ somehow invisible magic force field.
Chrysalis jaws dropped.

“What is this???”

“It is your doom!”

The insect queen continued to blast beams at the unicorn, but all fo them crackled against the magical barrier.

“It’s enough! YOU. SHALL. BURN!!!”

He started to focus an enormous amount of magic at his horn. It formed a glowing red ball, which was steadily gaining size. Even from her position Twilight could feel the enormous power eradiating from it. She also felt the source of the magic. She could feel the negative energy coming from it. It seemed like Xenos had somehow managed to turn all of his bad feeling and emotions into pure magic force.
Chrysalis moved back until she was leaning against the wall.

“What are you?” She yelled in panic.

“I’m your worst nightmare!”

Twilight couldn’t see what happened next. A bright flash of light temporarily blinded her and the others. All she heard was a big explosion sound and a terrified scream from Chrysalis and the temperature rose to an insane heat. Then the light faded...and Twilight could move again. The paralysis spell was broken.
She stood up and rubbed her neck. Her moves were still a bit dizzy from the spell. Then she used a recovery spell to restore everyone’s eyesight. She looked around and saw Xenos lying on the floor unconscious. Her eyes scanned the room for Chrysalis...but she was gone. Where she had been standing was...a giant hole in the wall. The edges of the hole were still blazing and fuming. She also noticed charred pieces of chitin, spread all over the room.
Twilight ran up to the green stallion and shook him.

“Wake up! WAKE UP!”

He slowly opened his eyes and rubbed his forehead.

“This heaven..?” He mumbled, then looked at Twilight. “Yup, definitely is...”

“Twilight couldn’t help, but smile. Then she hugged him tightly.

“Gah...my...throat...choking me...” He wheezed.

She quickly let go and grinned sheepishly. He rubbed his neck.

“What did just hap-“ He stopped as he noticed the hole in the wall.

“...The fuck did I just do?”

The others, who had recovered from their paralysis gathered around them and looked at the destruction. The magic blast had left a flaming trail across the way and had melted most of the ground.

“It seems you have focussed your negative emotions to charge a powerful magic blast.” Twilight tried to explain.
“A-an-and...Chrysalis?” Xenos stammered in confusion.

“You literally blasted her to eternity. That was SO awesome!” Rainbow Dash cheered.

Xenos looked like still didn’t get what had happened, but then he suddenly jumped up.

“DISCORD!” He shouted and ran towards the body of the draconequus, who was lying in a corner.

“Oh no!”

Twilight had almost forgotten about him. About the one who saved her life...
They all gathered around him.

Switch to Xenos

I nudged Discord with my hoof, but he didn’t move.

“Come on, pal. You can’t go like this!” I shouted, but he remained silent.

I felt an awful emptiness in my heart. I couldn’t believe that he was...dead. Finally he had found out what friendship meant...and now he couldn’t even experience it. I hugged his neck, tears running down my cheeks.

“Why? He didn’t deserve it.”

The others seemed as sad as me. I saw tears everywhere. Then Spike placed his claw on my shoulder.

“Time to let go...”

I knew what he meant, but I didn’t want to accept it. I still held him tight.

“Why do the good guys always die???”

Suddenly I heard someone chuckle.

“What sick asshole would love at this situation???”

“I like you too, Xenos.” Discord said.

“Wait...WHAT???”

I jumped back. The draconequus looked at me with a trollface-grin.

“I’m still the spirit of chaos. I’m immortal, silly.”

I just glared at him. He had been alive all the time.

“You...I...Chrysalis...dead...alive...WHAT THE FUCK?”

“Well, her attack was powerful enough to knock me out and it took some time to recover and before you ask, no I couldn’t help you. I was as useless as a stone, but turns out you could handle the situation perfectly on your own.”

I still stared at him with my mouth open. He raised an eyebrow.

“Are you mad at me now? I mean I wasn’t very nice and...umph!”

He didn’t get any further as I jumped at him and hugged him so tight that I he was almost suffocating.

“...Air...” He wheezed.

Eventually I let go and he gasped for air.
Then suddenly Twilight walked up to him, having a very angry expression on her face.

“Discord! You lied to all of us, fooled us and almost got us killed!” She yelled at the draconequus who just looked to the ground.

“But...” She continued. “You also made the right decision in the right moment and...saved our lives and obviously you’ve changed. So I want to ask you...do you accept my...” She turned around and looked at the others.” Do you accept OUR friendship?”

We all looked at him, expecting something. He just gazed at us, his eyelids twitching and then...he broke out in tears?
We all looked at him in confusion.

“Something...wrong?” Flutttershy asked carefully.

He summoned a tissue and blew his nose.

“No, it’s just...*sniff*...that’s the nicest thing somepony has ever done for me...”

“Daaaaaawwwwww!”

“But...” He continued. “I can’t accept it!”

“WHAT?” We all yelled in unison.

“You have to understand...a few minutes ago I’ve almost got you all killed. If Xenos hadn’t appealed to conscience I would have just let it happen.”

“But ya proved ya’ve changed.” Applejack insisted.

“Yes...for now. I could fall back into my past self at any time...and I don’t want to hurt anyone again. I’m the spirit of chaos. It’s all I can do....chaos...and chaos is evil...If I stay here what can I do? Face it, I was meant to be evil.” He sighed.

“No...you aren’t. Yes, your purpose is to create chaos and disharmony...but that isn’t always a bad thing. Remember what you did with your powers...you made people laugh. Just ask Pinkie.” I said and pointed at the pink mare.

“Yep, that’s true. You’re funny. You make cake fights. Cake fights are funny.” She giggled.

“See. You don’t always spread chaos...you also spread...laughter. That’s what you can do here. Makes us laugh.” I finished.

Discord looked at me. Then his eyes watered and he pulled me into another hug.

“Thank you.” He mumbled.

Then the others joined the hug too and I knew that everything was alright now...and I was happy.

Chapter 15: Aftermath


Everything was good again. However we had to explain the explosion, the flaming trail and the hole in the library. We decided that it would be best if we just made up a scenario that would be...more comfortable for Discord. We just said that Chrysalis had appeared again and Discord had saved the day...and that a tiny magical malfunction had caused a little bit of an explosion. I don’t know if they really believed us, but they seemed okay with the idea of Discord being a hero.
So it happened tha,t in the evening, I and my best (male) friends, that were Discord, the Doctor and Spike, were sitting together in the bar. After all those fighting and emotions and stuff I was happy to finally get some time to relax.
As we were talking about common things, an idea suddenly came to my mind.

“Hey Discord. You know...I haven’t really thanked you for saving me...and for saving Twilight.”

“She really means a lot to you, doesn’t she?” He responded.

I blushed.

“Don’t you have...a special somepony?” I asked innocently.

He just raised an eyebrow.

“Seriously? I’ve been trapped in stone for thousands of years. It’s quite difficult to get a date that way and besides, look at me...would you want to date me?”

“I mean...before you had been turned to stone wasn’t there...someone? Someone white...and alicorn-like?” I asked ironically.

“What do you- Oh no. Nonono!” He said and raised his arms defensively.

I just smirked.

“You like the Princess don’t you, Discord?”

He blushed heavily.

“I am NOT crushing on Celestia.” He insisted, but didn’t sound very confident.

“Admit it. You fell for her green eyes.” I grinned.

“Ha, her eyes are magenta.”

“Ha, thanks for proving my point!”

“DAMNIT!”

I grinned from ear to ear, while Discord was blushing even more, sinking under the table.

“No need to be ashamed.” Spike said. “We all have those feelings. It’s natural.”

“Not for me! I’m the spirit of chaos. That’s just embarrassing. Anyway it would never work! I’ve accepted that a long time ago.” He insisted.

“Bah...Never say never...” I said.

“Did I really just make that reference? Back on earth they would crucify me for this...”

“No! It’s not even worth trying. Just look at me...Do I look in any way attractive to you?”

“Well...it would be pretty odd if I make a statement now.” The Doctor carefully stated.

Discord just shrugged.

“See what I mean. It looks like I’m going to be...forever alone...”

“Too many references!”

“Discord...” I began. “I don’t know why I say that, but...you and Celestia...fit together.”

He raised his eyebrow again.

“Let’s see...draconequus- alicorn, evil- good, mad-sane...nope, can’t see it.”

“Then let me explain. You’re both immortal!”

“Oh I see...because that totally makes us the perfect couple...” He responded sarcastically.

“No...I mean yes...I mean think! Celestia’s been living for over a thousand years...and she never had any relationship or something...You know why? Because she can’t...because everypony would age in front of her eyes...except for you. You two could live together...forever.”

Seriously? I had no idea what I was talking about. I just wanted to say something emotional...to encourage him...and apparently it worked.

“You...really think that?” He asked.

“Actually no.” It thought.

“Of course I do.” I said.

Everyone smiled.

“And...” I continued. “I’ve also got an idea how to get you two closer together.”

Everyone looked at me curiously.

“Not sure if happy or scared...” Discord stated briefly.

“There’s this song...if you’re a mare it’s impossible not to fall for this song, trust me. However we’ll need certain things...Spike, write a list...”

Switch to Celestia

"...and so Discord has proven to have good inside him and I think I can accept him as a friend now. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Your faithful student,

Twilight Sparkle.”

Celestia sighed.

“...good inside...”

It reminded her of the past. She had never wanted it to happen that way, but he forced her to... If he had been more reasonable it would have never got that far.
She sighed again.
It was probably better to forget it and never think about it again. Mistakes had been made...and some mistakes you just can’t make right anymore.
Another sigh.
Suddenly somepony knocked the door.

“Who’s there?” The princess asked.

No answer.

“Strange...”

Another knock. Now it was getting annoying.

“Who’s there!” Celestia said, much louder this time.

Still, no one answered. Then...another knock.

“Okay, that’s enough now.”

Celestia went to the door and opened.

“This isn’t fun-“ She began, but didn’t get any further as her jaw dropped.

Standing there was...Discord...and he wasn’t alone. There was Spike and Xenos and a brown Earth Pony stallion she didn’t know...and they had music instruments.
They started playing. It was quite a beautiful melody...and then...Discord started to sing!

(Sorry, but I have to do this now)

They finished and Discord looked down.
Celestia didn’t know what to say. That song was so...beautiful and romantic...and touching. All the time she hadn’t realised his feelings.

“Daaaaaawwwww!”

I had never seen Discord blushing that much anymore.

“I guess we’ll leave you two alone now...” I said with a smirk.

Both of them blushed.

“I can send you back to Ponyville if you want to.” The princess suggested.

“That would be very kind, my princess.” The Doctor said formally.

“Wait!” I interrupted. “Could you send this letter to Dave?” I said and handed a paper scroll over to the draconequus.

“I will do that and...Xenos?”

“Yeah?”

“Thank you...for everything.”

I smiled. Then Celestia used her teleportation spell and a moment later we were back in Ponyville.

“Why can’t it be that easy for me too?” Spike groaned.

“Huh?” The Doctor asked.

“Oh...I mean...uhm...nothing.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Spike has a crush on Rarity.” I stated dryly.

“Shhhh. Nopony knows about it.” Spike whispered looking around nervously.

“...And he’s very serious about it.” I sighed.

We walked for a while, when the Doctor suddenly spoke up:

“There’s something that irritates me. We didn’t even practice that song. We just played it out of nowhere. How did we do that?”

“I don’t know. It’s Equestrian logic. If you need to sing a song there’s always music...no matter what.” I explained.

“Hm...”

I was lying next to Twilight in her bed. We just did some simple cuddling, but it made me so happy, because I had missed it so much.

“You look a bit melancholic. Aren’t you happy how everything turned out? Aren’t you happy for Discord?” She asked softly.

“I am. I’m totally happy with everything, but still...I can’t really believe that it was me who...ended Chrysalis’ life.” I said quietly.

“You weren’t yourself when it happened. You looked a bit like me when I got my cutie mark. I also had no control over my magic... Besides, you did the right thing. She would have killed us all otherwise.” She responded, then nuzzled my chest.

I felt her warm breath on my fur and it gave me goosebumps.

“But...It just isn’t right...I don’t know why, but I think it just wasn’t right. I should have just knocked her out or something. I never thought that killing someone would feel that horrible.”

“You’re not to blame. You didn’t have control over yourself. It wasn’t your decision. Just forget it.” She said calmly.

“I...can’t.”

“Then I’ll have to make you to.” She said and suddenly pulled me into a deep kiss.

I wrapped my forelegs around her waist and pulled her close to me.

“Giggity...”

Dear Dave,

I really want to tell you everything that happened, but I’m afraid I can’t describe it. Let’s just say the last few days were really eventful. Twilight and I have settled our differences. I’m happy...really happy again.

Chrysalis was resting in the recovery cocoon. The healing fluids would recover her health soon. If she hadn’t put up that defensive barrier the magic heatblast would have simply vaporized her. Even so it didn’t end very well. The pure energy had almost melted away whole parts of her body. Her chitin shell had saved her from worse injuries. Luckily she could contact her changeling subjects to pick her up and transport her back to the hive.
Despite the uncomfortable situation, Chrysalis had to grin. She hadn’t been prepared for that turn. She had underestimated the green stallion’s abilities. It wouldn’t happend again. She would wait and develop a new plan. A plan that wouldn’t fail. A plan that would finally make her rule over Equestria...and that would get her revenge.
“Enjoy every single day, Xenos. One will be your last.”
