Written letter:
----------
"Dear Double Diamond,
I've known you for a long time, but recently I feel like I've seen the real you. I never knew how much I really cared about you. I value our friendship so much to the point it makes me want to scream my heart out. That may sound bad, but I'm just willing to go to extreme ends for you. The way you look when you bullet down a slope, or when you finally reach the bottom to all of us cheering. I wish I had the guts to tell this to you forward, or even the guts to sign my name. But, hey, I guess you have a secret admirer then.

~Sincerely, Your secret admirer
---------
The blue stallion looked down at what he had written. He reread it to make sure he got what he wanted out of it and blushed as his heart started to race. Just thinking about Double Diamond was enough to make his entire face turn red. He even considered calling himself tomato head. He then folded the letter and sealed it in an envelope.

It was very dark in the midst of night. The stallion trotted out the door, and he was greeted by the crickets' songs while he made his way across the large open street. He paused for a minute, for he did not want anyone to notice him. He left the letter outside the door and quietly galloped home. He made extra sure that no one would see who he was, for he didn't want the sudden attention of his friends. He looked at the clock, and it read 2:00 am. He yawned as he moved his way to the bedroom. He stretched his back and went under the covers.

Party Favor drifted off to sleep...

2) Breakfast Time

The sun arose from the horizon. It was a beautiful Sunday morning in the village. The birds were chirping, the winds were calm, and the area was peaceful. Today was a perfect day to all the residents, especially Party Favor.

Party yawned. He woke up with a bright smile on his face, for he knew that his friends would be eating breakfast together at Sugar Belle's place. He hopped out of bed and brushed up his mane, but his mane refused to be tamed, so he let it stay poofy. He stepped outside and took a deep breathe, smelling the fine sugary scent that was present. He immediately started to make his way towards the bakery. Night Glider was the first to greet him.

"Hey! Look who it is!"

Sugar Belle and Double Diamond turned around to face the guest.

"Well, it took you long enough." Night continued. "I was gonna eat your breakfast if you were any later."

"No she wouldn't." Sugar contradicted. "If she did, I'd hit her with my rolling pin."

"Oh shit." Diamond started laughing from the thought of the two getting into a ridiculous fight.

Party blushed in embarrassment; thinking he did something wrong.

"Dude, cheer up, I wouldn't let her touch your food." Diamond added in.

Party sat down in his chair. "I don't see any food, how would she eat it if it's not here."

Just then the timer beeped. Sugar Belle got up and grabbed the tray of muffins out of the oven. She passed a muffin to each of her friends and sat down to eat with them.

Soon, they all had finished, and were now helping Sugar clean up the mess.

"I can't eat another one." Night complained.

"You ate 4 muffins, of course you're full." Sugar cut in.

"But they were gooooood." Night whined.

"As always." Double Diamond added in.

"Aw, thanks you guys." Sugar said with a bright smile on her face.

Once they were all cleaned up, they went their separate ways. Diamond grabbed his skis from home and started to head to the mountain trail.

"Wait," Party called out.

Diamond turned around to see Party with a pair of skis and a pink scarf on.

"Can I come with you?" He asked nervously.

Diamond was a little shocked. It wasn't like Party to just join in on something as adventurous as skiing. He was happy on the other hoof, because he always wanted to show someone else how to ski. He looked back at Party and responded: "Let's do this."

3) Skiing 101

The climb wasn't so easy for Party. He stumbled a lot and almost fell off twice. However, it was hardly anything to Diamond, since he did this for a living. At the top of the hill, Diamond stopped to take a look at the view. They weren't on that tall of a slope, but it was still nice to take in that nice cool mountain air. Just a single breathe was all Diamond needed to get started on his day. He could even sleep in the snow if he really wanted to. He turned to look at the shivering blue stallion wobbling up beside him.

"Now, this isn't much, but it's a nice slope for your first time." Diamond explained. "The first thing you always make sure to do is always strap yourself in. You never know what could happen, but being strapped in could save your life."

Party got into the skis and fixed himself into the straps.

"Alright, secondly, you should remember your two basic forms. The different forms effect the way you go down. The first form is the straight away. To do this is simple, so all you do is keep them straight and lined up as you lean your weight downward. The second form is the crossing formation. As opposed to the straight away, you face your skis to where the tips are angled and face each other. That will make you slow down and give you more control."

Party looked down at his skis. He kept switching between the forms so he could get used to it before he went down.

"Alright, I think I got it." He said to Diamond.

"Good, now that's about all you need to know for now about going down the slope. Now I'm gonna teach you how to stop. All you do is turn completely sideways."

Diamond lowered his goggles until they were over his eyes. He pushed down the mountain and showed off all the things he taught to Party.

He looked up and shouted. "Now you try!"

Party gulped in fear as he pushed off onto the flurry of snow. He glided down quickly and crashed almost immediately. He started to tumble down the hill and face planted at the bottom.

4) The Visit

Stuck in bed. Three words that make anyone groan in boredom. Well that's what happens when you fall down a slope and give yourself a black eye and a broken hoof. This is how our hero felt. Party Favor hated being in his bed, and he swore that when he was better, he would toss the mattress out the damn window. He was getting quite agitated looking at the wall all day. Well, not all day, he assured himself that someone would come by and make him forget everything. He really hoped someone would just pop right in, it doesn't matter who. Just then, he heard the squeaking of a door being opened. He would jump for joy if he could, but he reminded himself of the blasphemous infliction he had.

"Hey, buddy, sorry about the slope incident." A very concerned white stallion said whilst avoiding eye contact. He was too ashamed to look him in the eye.

"It's alright Double Diamond, it was my fault for not curving myself like you said."

"But it wouldn't have happened if I were to just go on my own."

"Dude, it would've been more painful not to go."

"Party, I will never understand your strange methods of speech."

"I'm saying that I'm glad I went, even though I got hurt."

Diamond cheered up, and looked at him. Party's smile was enough to make him smile. He then took off his saddle bag and opened it. He pulled out a book and sat on the chair next to the bed.

Party raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?"

"Well, I thought I would read to you since you look kinda bored right now."

Party then lowered his eyebrow. "Fine." He turned his head to face Diamond. "It can't hurt, and it beats doing nothing."

Diamond opened the book. "Chapter One..."

-------

"...and the stallion marched up to the balcony and saved his sister. The rest of town cheered for their hero, and celebrated his defeat of the evil king. The End."

The clock struck 7:00.

"Is it that time already?" Party asked.

"Yeah, didn't know I read that long. I guess I should make dinner."

"Oh you don't have to."

"Party, I'm going to make dinner, and you're going to like it. Now shush."

"Dude, I can do it myse- oh yeah..."

"Yeah, the whole 'stay in bed' thing."

5) Dinner and Bed [Cuddles ^3^]

Diamond was doing his best in the kitchen. He was making hayburgers, and also trying not to burn everything to the ground. He wasn't the greatest chef in Equestria, but he knew that it would be good. It has to be good, he's making it for his best friend who's depending on him because of injury! He was extra careful, and he even made it a little bit spicy, just the way Party Favor likes. He went into the pantry and grabbed two plates. He put the sizzling hayburgers on those said plates, and walked into the bedroom.

Party took a whiff of the dinner he was about to eat. "This smells amazing." He said as he watched the food get ever so close to him.

"Oh, it's not much, but I tried to make it the best to your liking."

"I already love it."

Diamond blushed slightly. He thought to himself: "Party could be so flattering sometimes."

Diamond took a bite of his dinner and was shocked that he actually cooked something so good. Party was digging in, floating the sandwich up to him with his magic. He devoured it in mere minutes. Diamond watched in awe as he took another bite of his own. It took another two minutes for Diamond to finish.

"I know you say you can't cook," Party started to speak. "But I think you're a liar."

"Thanks, and again, I'm not really that good."

"Well, too bad. I think you just don't wanna admit it."

"I never admit to saying I'm good at anything, and you know that."

"Yeah, you even complain how you're not good enough on your skis, but you are such a fucking liar."

"I mean, I just."

"And you have a great mane too."

"It does that on it's own."

"I'm just saying, you need to take ownership of your achievements."

As the argument continued for a long while, the sound of crickets were starting to be heard.

"Oh my, it's ten o'clock." Diamond said.

"..." Party struggled to speak up.

"I'm gonna head out n-"

"Wait"

"What?"

"Do you wanna stay the night?"

This time, Diamond struggled to speak up.

"Okay." He finally managed to say. "Where am I going to sleep then?"

"Well, I guess the bed's big enough for two." Party scooted over enough for Diamond to enter.

"Oh, I mean, okay."

Diamond awkwardly got into the bed next to Party. He felt himself starting to sweat from nervousness. He closed his eyes and started to drift.

Party still couldn't sleep. He kept tossing and turning, but it was hard due to the broken hoof. He then looked over at Diamond. He stared at his soft, fluffy body. He couldn't keep himself from touching it. He inched closer very slowly. He then made contact. This made the sleeping Diamond turn towards the source of the poke. Without even waking, Diamond grabbed on to Party, and held him close. The sleeper's face turned red. Party returned the favor and used his good hoof to latch onto Diamond. He soon fell asleep in the hooves of the white stallion.

6) Aftermath and The Revisit

The sun once again peaked over the horizon to the start of a cold Monday morning. It was snowing outside, but inside Party Favor's house, it was warm and snug. Diamond's eyes slowly awoken. He yawned and looked down at the stallion he was holding. He closed his eyes once again, only to reopen them in shock. He panicked and fell off the side of the bed. This was enough to wake up Party.

"HUH?! WAZZAT?!" Party yelled as he woke from his slumber.

Diamond was on the floor, rubbing his head where he made contact with the ground.

"What happened last night?" Diamond asked as he stood up.

"I don't know!"

"Did we...?"

"WHAT?!"

"Nothing."

"Okay," Party sighed. "I had trouble sleeping last night, so I sort of got closer to you. Then, you grabbed on to me and held me in place."

Diamond blushed. He looked into Party's eyes, and spoke up. "I'm sorry, dude."

"It's fine."

"So..."

"So, what?"

"We're still having breakfast with Sugar and Night, right?"

"Of course."

-----

[Four days later]

-----

"Finally, my hoof is back to normal." Party said triumphantly.

"Yeah."

"So, I know it caused the problem in the first place, but can we head up to that slope again?"

"I don't know." Diamond worried for his friend.

"Come on."

"Fine, but if anything happens to you, I will never forgive myself. I need you to be one hundred percent sure that you want to go."

Party nodded.

They grabbed their gear and put on their scarves, and headed up the trail.

7) One Last Try [Finale]

The climb wasn't as bad the second time around. Party got up with no problem at all. He joined his friend as they gazed out into the snowy horizon. They saw their village, which was covered in snow, and they saw the slope that was ahead of them.

"That wasn't so hard, was it?" Diamond smirked as he asked his friend.

"That's what she said."

They both bursted out laughing from the immature joke. Once they finished laughing, they looked down the slope.

"Wait," Party began. "I think we should have lunch first, I mean, I packed it and it's about noon now."

"Sure." Diamond turned around and sat down with his friend to eat.

It was a simple lunch, just a couple of sandwiches, and some melon. They started eating their food, when Party started pondering about asking the question. He was very nervous on how it would play out. He was afraid that Diamond wouldn't like him back, or worse, stop being friends overall. All these thoughts were clouding up his mind. Suddenly, he was interrupted by Diamond.

"Hey, do you know anything about secret admirers?" He asked.

"What are you saying?"

"Well, I've been pondering this letter I got on my doorstop about 5 days ago. It's saying how someone in the village has a crush on me or something. I mean, crazy right?"

"Uh-huh."

"Any idea who it could be?"

Party started to sweat. He didn't know how to respond. He was afraid of all the different outcomes. Without thinking, he spoke up.

"Me."

"What?"

"I said, me. I wrote it."

Diamond blushed brightly. His heart was beating fast. He looked into Party's eyes. Party on the other hoof was looking downward, preparing for the worst.

"I don-" Party's sentence was cut off by a pair of lips meeting his. He welt his insides melt and it felt like time slowed down. He returned the kiss.

Diamond looked up at him. "I've wanted to do that for so long now. I just didn't have the guts to do it."

Party was shocked. The bravest stallion he knew was scared of making a move. He smiled at him.

"I love you, Party Favor."

"I love you too, Double Diamond."

The two packed up their stuff and got on their skis.

"Why don't we go down together?" Diamond asked.

"I thought you'd never ask."

They held hooves and made their way down the slope. They made it down, and Diamond was yelling in excitement as he got Party down the slope without a single slip up. They took off their skis and headed into town.

They left as friends, but came back as lovers.

The End.

Double Diamond looked back at the letter he got from Party Favor many weeks ago. He shed a tear. He picked up the letter and put it in a frame. He them stuck it onto the wall. He smiled at the letter. He then walked into the other room, picking up a pen and paper.

------

"Dear, My love, Party Favor,

I just want to let you know how much you mean to me. I would never traid you with anyone else in Equestria. I also want to let you know that if I had to, I'd go to the end of the globe to find you if we lost each other. This is made with all of my love, the love that belongs to you. Thank you for being my coltfriend.

~Sincerely, Double Diamond
