> Pinkie's Three Parties > by Shimmer Shy > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > A Party for Adagio > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie Pie walked through the halls of Canterlot High, as she would any other day. The Battle of the Bands was over, and all was well. In fact, the once-evil Sirens now went to the school, after their pendants had been shattered. This is exactly what Pinkie was thinking about and came to an abrupt stop. She still hadn't thrown them a Welcome to Canterlot High party for the Dazzlings yet, which she did for every new student. Well, then I just found out what I'm going to do today, she thought to herself, just as the bell rang. Right after class. And so she scrambled to the science room. Adagio passed a group of girls in a corner chatting on her way to her locker. Out of the corner of her eye she saw one point at her, whisper to her friends, and the group cleared out. As did everyone else in the hallway. Adagio let out a small annoyed growl, finding herself alone once again. She entered her locker combination and a small piece of paper floated to the ground when she got it open. "Ugh. Not another one." she groaned as she knelt down to pick it up. But to her surprise, the note wasn't a rude comment like it usually was. It read: Dear Adagio, Please meet me in the band room RIGHT NOW! -Unknown Adagio shrugged. "I have nothing better to do." She closed her locker and then headed to the band room. Once science was over, Pinkie finally had the chance to set up a party for the first person on her list, Adagio. She hurried down to the band room, with a wagon filled with party supplies in tow. Don't ask me where she got them... As she passed Adagio's locker, she slid a note into it. Hopefully she'd finish setting up before she found it. Pinkie finally reached the room for the party and dug through her wagon, but then frowned. She'd left her party cannon behind. I knew I was forgetting something! She sighed. Oh, well. Guess we're gonna have to do this the old-fashioned way. She glanced at her watch. Doing this in ten minutes would be difficult, but come on, we're talking about Pinkie Pie here! Ten Minutes Later Adagio opened the door to the band room. "Surprise!!" Pinkie jumped up from behind a drum set, making the guest of honor jump. "Ahh! Oh, it's you." Adagio rolled her eyes. "Don't you like it? It's a party just for you!" Adagio read the banner that hung above them. 'Welcome to Canterlot High!' "Aren't you a little late?" "I know, I know. But better late then never, right?" Pinkie shrugged. "Anyway...I was also wondering...I'm friends with everyone in the school except you and your, um, trio? So, wanna be friends?" Adagio considered this. She'd really only ever been friends with Aria and Sonata. And everyone always avoided her (she didn't blame them), and also, why not? Maybe it'd be a good change. "Um, sure..." "...Pinkie Pie." Pinkie beamed. Adagio nodded. "So, wanna come par-tay?" And so everyone was happy. Pinkie grinned. One down, two to go. > A Party for Aria > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, Pinkie Pie was prepared to plan Aria's party. All the supplies she needed were in her wagon, including her party cannon. She began setting up at about the same time as yesterday. Her scribbled note getting stuffed into Aria's locker, and Pinkie dragging her wagon to the band room. She knew today might be a slight bit harder. Aria didn't really seem like the partying type. Neither did Adagio, for that matter, but Pinkie guessed that she'd gotten lucky. She picked up her party cannon and looked around the room. "Hmm...where would be the perfect spot?" she asked herself. "Hey Pinkie." a voice behind her said, startling Pinkie. She turned around. "Oh, hey, Dashie." she smiled, waving. "What brings you here?" "Just picking up my guitar. What are you doing here?" Rainbow Dash replied. "Aria's 'Welcome to Canterlot High' party." Pinkie turned back to examining the room. "Need any help?" Rainbow asked, picking up her blue guitar. "Well...I can't seem to find where to put my party cannon." "I thought you didn't have one. Why don't you just put it there?" Rainbow pointed to a corner of the room. "If I put it there, the corner across from it won't get decorated. Never mind. I'm sure I can solve this problem." Pinkie said, ignoring her friend's first sentence. "OK, then. Sorry, I've gotta go. Wish I could stay to see how this turns out!" Rainbow left with a wave. "Maybe that would be the best spot..." Pinkie thought as soon as she was gone, setting it up in the corner. Aria wasn't having any better luck than Adagio with fitting in. By the time she got to the hallway of her locker, everyone was already gone. This didn't bother her, though. She didn't like any of them anyway. The purple siren first noticed the slip of paper wedged in between the holes of her locker. Curious, she uncrumpled it and read it. Why would anyone want me to meet them in the band room? She thought, then shrugged. Can't hurt to check it out. She crumpled the paper back up again and threw it to the ground, heading to the band room. Just before she turned the corner, Derpy spotted the paper behind her and picked it up. "Hey, don't litter!" she shouted after her. Aria ignored her, of course. Pinkie looked around at her work happily. Well, hers and her cannon's. That corner really was the best place for it. Outside, she heard footsteps and someone about to open the door, and she jumped behind a table. The door opened and..."Surprise!!" Pinkie jumped up and shouted, just barely surprising Aria. "What's this?" Aria asked, looking around. "It's your party, welcoming you to Canterlot High!" Pinkie exclaimed, putting a pink and blue striped party hat on both of their heads. "And what if I don't want you to throw me a party?" Aria crossed her arms. Hearing this, Pinkie frowned just a bit. No one had ever turned down one of her parties. But she had been expecting this, so she regained her smile. "At least try it." she tried. "Look, I'm kinda busy..." Aria was about to turn around, but stopped when she saw Pinkie's face. She was giving her the 'Don't Leave Me' look that reminded her of Sonata. Every time she saw it, she just couldn't say no. "Fine." she finally sighed, making Pinkie smile wide and pull her into the room. After a minute or two, Pinkie asked, "Hey, I know I was kinda against you in the Battle of the Bands, but could we be friends?" Aria hadn't expected to hear this from her. The only friends she had at the moment were Adagio and Sonata. Plus everyone else was afraid of her. Sure, it was nice that this overly-energetic girl threw a party for her, but she thought it was because she felt bad or something. "I guess." Aria replied, trying to sound untouched. But Pinkie Pie caught on. Two down, one to go. > A Party for Sonata > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today Pinkie Pie was extremely happy, knowing that the past two days had gone so smoothly. Today she would throw a party for Sonata, the last girl on her list. Surely this would be easy. Sonata was usually someone to look on the bright side of things, and Pinkie had noticed she'd already made a friend or two. Pinkie was used to the Party Procedure by now, after doing it for the second time yesterday, and she was a few minutes ahead of schedule. Maybe she should make Sonata's party REALLY special and use her free time to get her a gift? But wouldn't that be unfair to the others, though? Then again, she was pretty sure the other two wouldn't care much. Making her final decision, she marched out the door, and then out of the school, having the perfect idea for a present. "Hey, Sonata!" Lyra waved from across the hall, noticing the blue siren exiting a classroom. Sonata looked up to see a happy Lyra dragging a not-so-happy Bon-Bon behind her. "Oh, hey guys. What's up?" "Well, Bon and I were going to see a movie tonight." Lyra explained. "Wanna come?" Bon-Bon gasped in disbelief. "Lyra...!" Lyra glared at her. "Sure!" Sonata smiled, confused why Bon-Bon was so upset. "Great, see ya!" And the two disappeared in a flash. Sonata shrugged and went to her locker. "Hey, my tacos!" She picked up a box, ignoring the note on top. "Hey, a note!" She bent down to pick it up. "Hmm. I wonder who that could be..." she said to no one in particular. Only one way to find out. "Shhh!" Pinkie whispered to the wrapped box she was carrying, opening the band room door, then set it down on the table. "How are you so heavy?" The box moved an inch towards her, then another. "Hey!" She ran over to keep it from falling. "I‘ll let you out soon! Stay!" "Hello?" said a voice of who was opening the door. "Surprise!!" Pinkie jumped up five inches from Sonata's face. "Gah! Don't hurt me!!" she exclaimed. "Why would I do that, silly?!" Pinkie laughed. "Sorry for scaring you." "Nah, it's fine." Sonata smiled embarrassingly. "Why does that banner say my name?" "Cause this is your 'Welcome to Canterlot High' party!" "Really?!" "Of course! What‘re friends for? Um, we are friends, right?" "Sure! Wait, what about Adagio and Aria? Did they get a party, too?" Awe, how sweet. "Why wouldn't they? Now, do you want to open your present? It's starting to get restless in there!" "Ooh, what is it?!" Sonata ripped open the box, then gasped. "Awe, it's so cute!! Thanks, uh..." "...Pinkie." Pinkie Pie helped. "Yeah." She picked up the small puppy that was excitedly bouncing around on the table, it‘s tongue lolling out of it's mouth. It started licking her cheek. "Awe, wait till Dagi and Aria see you!" Before school was out that day, Pinkie was sitting with her friends outside. As Sonata and the two other sirens walked past, the puppy hidden in Sonata‘s backpack, Sonata ran up behind her and hugged her hard. "Thanks again, Pinkie. Your party made my day." Then, she ran away. "What was that all about?" Sunset asked. "Let's just say that I made a new friend today." Pinkie smiled.
