> Six Months > by elmago02 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Broken Heart > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It’s been a little over three years since a flame haired girl walked through the mirror and ended up in the human world. Three years since she noticed a certain pink haired girl. Eight months since a pony princess visited this world and defeated the flame haired girl. Seven months since the flame haired girl, together with her six best friends defeated the sirens. Six months since the flame haired girl became, from her point of view, the happiest and luckiest girl from this world, the pony world, and who knows how many others. Six months ago, the flame haired girl enjoyed a weekend accompanied by the kindest girl there is. Six months ago she risked her life to save that same girl. Six months ago, they became officially a couple. Six months ago, they told their friends about them, who were extremely happy about the good news. It has been six months of happiness. “Six months of being together, and the kind girl couldn’t be happier, right now, she wishes she could spend the day with Suns- the flame haired girl, but she will have to settle for her four friends.” “Uhm, Pinkie Pie, who are you talking to?” Rainbow Dash asked as she looked at her friend, mildly confused. Pinkie gave her a wide smile. “You silly Dashy, to the reader of course! I’m narrating the story, but I guess I could leave that part to the author, That way I can focus on enjoying the day with my bestest friends.” She said as she patted Rainbow on the head. Dash just looked at her for a few seconds before turning around and walking fast to catch up with her other friends. ‘Why did I even bother to ask. Pinkie Pie just being Pinkie Pie.’ Dash caught up with the girls just before they reached their destination. Saturday afternoon, the group of five friends had decided to go to the mall by Fluttershy’s suggestion and enjoy the day doing whatever they came up with. “Ooh! There is a promotion on shoes at Pegaso Atelier!” Rarity said as she moved fast to the windows of the shop where a wide variety of stilettos were at display. “Come on, sugarcube.” Applejack took Rarity by the wrist and pulled her away from the window. “Even if those shoes are on sale, they would still cost you an eye.” “But they are so pretty!” Rarity whined as Applejack dragged her. “Come on, Rarity, there are other shops that have some cute clothes that are more in your price range.” Fluttershy told her friend with a reassuring smile. Rarity sighed. “I guess you are right, darling. Let’s go see what we- That dress is so beautiful!” She exclaimed as she ran to the shop named Dragon Couture. “Really? You move from an expensive shop to an even more expensive one?” Applejack exclaimed as she ran after her friend. Fluttershy just watched them with a smile. “You want to go grab something to eat?” Rainbow said as she got close to Fluttershy. “Uhm, sure, I coul-” “Uhhhh! Let’s go to Mexican Dog, I have been craving for a Definitivo Chili Dog for some time.” Pinkie said as she popped, seemingly from out of nowhere, right in front of Fluttershy. Rainbow chuckled. “Sure, that sounds good, I’ll have one too.” She said as she followed Pinkie Pie to the Mexican Dog, Fluttershy close behind them. “So, ‘Shy, why couldn’t Sunset hang out with us today?” “Well, I called her this morning and she told me that she got a job as a tutor, so she couldn’t hang out with us.” Fluttershy answered with a bit of sadness. “Is Sunset in need fer money?” Asked Applejack as she approached Fluttershy while dragging Rarity with her lasso. “Now that ah think about it, how did Sunset get money to live the way she does? This is the first ah have heard her and job in the same sentence.” “Oh, well, that’s actually really simple. There seems to be a spell back in Equestria that allows a unicorn find gems with ease. So she used that spell and gathered a lot of gems before coming to this world, she then sold them and managed to get a really good price for them.” “That’s just amazing,” Rarity said as she removed the lasso from around her waist. “A spell to find gems, simply fantastic. If I could use it I would gather as many gems as I could and use them in my designs.” Pinkie Pie said something that no one understood because her mouth was filled with half of the Definitivo chili dog. “Pinkie Pie, please, swallow before talking.” Rarity chided Pinkie swallowed, but before talking, she devoured the rest of the fast food, ordered one more Definitivo chili dog and then said: “Did Sunny ran out of money then?” “Uhm, I don’t think so. When she told me, she said she still had enough money to pay for college.” Applejack whistled. “Damn, that’s a lot of money. So why is she tutoring?” Fluttershy scratched her cheek. “I’m not sure, maybe she just wants to help people who are having problems with some subjects at school. She certainly has helped us a lot with the subjects we have troubles with.” Fluttershy said, a small smile showing as she thought of those afternoons she spend with Sunset helping her with algebra, her cheeks tinted rosy as she remembered how Sunset would reward her with a kiss everytime she solved a difficult problem Rainbow Dash noticed and leaned close to Fluttershy. “Are you thinking something naughty?” “What? N-no, I wasn’t!” Fluttershy burned bright red as the others laughed. “Alright alright. So, anyone else wants something to eat or should we move to look something else to do.” Rainbow asked. Fluttershy and Rarity each ordered an orange juice, Applejack ordered a simple hot dog with a cola, Rainbow had already ordered her Definitivo chili dog and Pinkie Pie ordered a third one and a crepe. The group of friends sat at a nearby table. As Rarity drank her juice, she couldn’t help but look at Pinkie eat her food. “Honestly, darling, I don’t know how you manage to stay in shape when you eat so much. What is your secret?” Pinkie Pie looked down at herself for a few seconds, then looked back at Rarity. “I don’t know.” “Please, Pinkie, You must be doing something.” Rainbow scoffed. “She doesn’t need to do anything. She is Pinkie Pie. I bet she burns all those extra calories with how much she moves and jumps around.” Rarity hummed. “I guess you are right at that, Rainbow. And here I thought I would find the secret to stay in shape without having to get all sweaty.” “You could always do what Fluttershy does for exercise. You would still get sweaty, but it would be a lot of fun.” Rainbow said as she gave a big bite to her hot dog. Fluttershy tilted her head to the side. “I don’t exercise.” “Oh please, I bet you do. You spend a lot of time with Sunset.” “Well, uhm, yes. But what does that have to do with exercising?” Rainbow smirked. “I bet that at least once a week you practice the horizontal tango with her, that must burn a lot of calories.” Fluttershy turned as red as a tomato while the girls laughed, with the exception of Rarity who had just spit orange juice over herself after hearing that. “R-R-Rainbow Dash!” Fluttershy exclaimed as she covered her face. “Haha, sorry ‘Shy. It’s just that it’s so much fun to tease you.” For some time now, Rainbow had teased Fluttershy in every chance she got. She really respected Fluttershy and Sunset relationship, but damn, Fluttershy’s face always turning bright red was really funny. “Seriously, Rainbow Dash, that isn’t a topic to be talking in a place like.” Rarity said as she cleaned herself with a napkin, trying to hide her own smile. Rainbow rolled her eyes. “Whatever, Rarity.” Rainbow finished her hot dog and stood. “Hey Applejack, are you up for a friendly competition?” “Any time. What do ya have in mind?” “There are a few arcade machines in the second floor. We have a score to settle from the last sleepover.” “You’re on.” Applejack stood and together with Rainbow Dash made her way to the game zone, Pinkie Pie excitedly bouncing behind them. Rarity was about to follow her friends, but as she attempted to stand, something pulled the sleeve of her blouse. “Uhm, Rarity, could you come with me.” Fluttershy whispered to her friend, and before Rarity could answer, Fluttershy began moving in the opposite direction from the others. Rarity looked worriedly at Fluttershy. “What’s it, darling? I hope nothing bad has happened.” Fluttershy shook her head. “No, no, nothing bad. I just want your help with something.” “Oh, that’s good to hear. So, what is it you need help with?” “I… Well, Sunset and I have been together for half a year now and I… I want to buy her a present.” “And you want me to help you find something good for her?” Fluttershy nodded. “Oh, darling, It would be my pleasure to help you. Tell me, have you thought of anything that she would like?” “It’s a bit hard to come up with something. She’s never said anything of wanting this or that.” Rarity brought one hand to her chin. “Hmm, you are right, darling. Sunset isn’t exactly the most open person.” Rarity sighed. “I guess you should go for the safest route. You could buy some sexy lingerie for you two and have a really passionate night.” Fluttershy’s eyes widened and her cheeks turned bright red again. “R-Rarity!” The fashionista laughed. “Oh my, Rainbow is certainly right, it’s so much fun.” Fluttershy crossed her arms and looked away from her friend. “I should have asked Pinkie Pie for help.” “Oh, come on, darling, I’m sorry.” Rarity got close to her friend and hugged her. “It was just a little joke, I couldn’t help myself.” She said with a small smile. Fluttershy sighed in defeat, she really couldn’t stay angry with anyone. “Okay Rarity.” Fluttershy returned the hug and then pulled away. “Do you have any other idea for Sunset’s present.” “Right now I can’t think of anything. Why don’t we look around, we are bound to find something good for her.” Fluttershy sighed and looked a bit depressed. “Darling, remember that it’s the intention what matters when giving something. And I can tell you right now that whatever you give to her, she will absolutely love it. Now let’s move.” Rarity dragged Fluttershy around the mall. After a little over an hour of moving around the mall, Fluttershy walked out from a little jewelry store, a small box between her hands. She had to admit, even if she wasn’t completely sure that this was the perfect present for Sunset, it certainly was the one that would best express her feelings. It wasn’t the most expensive of the items of the shop, but it wasn’t the cheapest either. It was a small pendant with a heart shaped crystal gem in the middle. “We should look for the others. They must be worried, we disappeared without saying anything.” Rarity said as she got out from the shop with her own purchases. “I’ll call Rainbow Dash to see where they are.” Fluttershy kept the little box in a pocket and took her cellphone from another and quickly called her friend. “Hey, Fluttershy,” came the voice of Rainbow Dash. “I was about to call you. Are you with Rarity?” “Hi Rainbow. Yes, Rarity is with me.” “Where did you guys go?” “Sorry, there was something I wanted to buy and Rarity accompanied me. Are you with Pinkie and Applejack?” “Yeah, we are still here at the arcade. You completely missed it, while Applejack and I were facing each other at a shooter, some fat guy popped out from nowhere to “teach us” how to play. He was good, but then Pinkie Pie stepped up and totally wiped the floor with him. It was amazing! She also got the high score of the shooter!” “That’s… great? Well, Rarity and I will be there in a minute.” “Nah, don’t bother. We are all done here. Why don’t we meet at the mall entrance? We were planning on going to Pinkie’s house to hang out there for awhile.” “Alright, Rainbow Dash. We’ll meet there then.” “Cool.” The call finished and Fluttershy placed her cellphone back. “Rainbow didn’t sound worried at all. It seems that the girls enjoyed the day. They’ll meet us at the entrance.” The two friends chatted about nothing special as they made their way to the entrance. They easily found their three friends, and as soon as Pinkie Pie saw them, she started to wave excitedly at them. “RARITY! FLUTTERSHY! WE ARE OVER HERE!” She shouted out as she jumped excitedly. Fluttershy laughed. “Yes, Pinkie Pie, I can see you. There’s no need to shout.” “SORRY!” “We should buy some pizza on the way to Pinkie’s house, I’m really hungry.” Rainbow said as she lead the way out of the mall. “Didn’t you eat that big hot dog?” Rarity asked as they walked down the street. “That was over an hour ago!” “Ah’m actually a bit hungry mahself.” Applejack said from right next to Rainbow Dash. “I would also like some pizza.” Fluttershy added quietly. “I’m a little bit hungry too, after all, I just had that orange juice.” “I love pizza!” Pinkie said with a huge grin. Rainbow grinned victoriously at Rarity. “See, Rarity. You are the only one against the idea of eating pizza.” “I wasn’t against the idea of eating pizza. I just-” “Hey, look!” Pinkie interrupted Rarity as she pointed towards the other side of the street. “Isn’t that Sunset?” Everyone looked where Pinkie Pie was pointing to see that she was correct, a huge smile appeared on Fluttershy’s face. At the other side of the street, right next to a bus stop, stood the flame haired girl.  “Who’s that guy?” Rainbow asked as she pointed towards the boy that was talking with Sunset. He was big, about a head taller than Sunset and wide shoulders. They seemed to be on really good terms. “Maybe the person Sunset was tutorin’. Come on, we should go talk to…” Applejack trailed off as she was shocked by what her eyes were seeing, just like the others. The guy had wrapped his hands around Sunset’s waist at the same time the girl wrapped hers around his neck. Sunset stood on tiptoe to reach the boys lips. They were locked in an affectionate kiss until the bus arrived. They quickly untangled their limbs from each other and got on the bus. The group of girls looked with wide eyes and open mouths as the bus accelerated and turned left at the corner, getting out from sight. The first one to move was Fluttershy. Her legs gave way as she fell to the ground crying. > Sucker Punch > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It hurt… This wasn’t real, it just couldn’t be real… Sunset… Her Sunset… She was... It hurt so much. The image of Sunset Shimmer kissing someone else… It felt like her heart was being punctured by a hundred needles. Fluttershy had never felt this much pain before. She wanted it to stop. She wanted this pain to stop. She wanted for all of this to be a lie, for all of this to be some nightmare. She just wanted this to be whatever it could be except for reality. One hand covered her face and the other grabbed the fabric that covered the left side of her chest. Everyone felt so useless, seeing Fluttershy sobbing and crying. “Darling…” Rarity trailed off as she had no idea what to say, her mind just couldn’t come up with anything to say to comfort Fluttershy. She just knew that her friend was suffering, and she had to do something. Rarity hugged her, that’s the only thing that came to her mind. Rainbow clenched her jaw. Anger coursed through her whole body, her hands balled into fists. How could she? How could she do that? They were happy together, right? They loved each other, right? Wasn’t... Wasn’t Fluttershy enough for Sunset? That bitch. If Rainbow hadn’t been stunned by what he had seen, she would have chased that bus, boarded it and demand some answers from that demon. But she couldn’t, there was no way she could reach that bus now. “We… we should take Fluttershy to her home.” Pinkie Pie said in an unusually quiet voice, her hair slightly deflated. She knelt down and with Rarity’s assistance, helped Fluttershy stand up. The girls began their slow walk towards Fluttershy’s house. They remained quiet, mostly. The only sound was the occasional sob from Fluttershy followed by one of Pinkie’s promises to bake Fluttershy one of her favorite pastries. Step, sob, promise. Step, sob, promise. Step, sob, promise. Step, sob- That was it. Rainbow couldn’t take it anymore. Hearing her oldest friend's sobs was driving her crazy. She had to do something now. Rainbow stopped walking. “You guys go ahead. I have something to do.” She turned around to leave but a hand on her shoulder stopped her. “There will be time for that later.” Applejack said. Rainbow brushed Applejack’s hand off. “I can’t just stay here. I have to find that-” “Ya aren’t just stayin’ here. Fluttershy is hurtin’, she needs her friends. There’ll be time to talk to Sunset later.” Applejack said with a look that said there was no room for discussion. Rainbow closed her eyes and breathed deeply as she tried to calm her anger. Applejack was right, being with Fluttershy right now was more important. She opened her eyes and nodded at her friend, both of them walking behind Rarity, Pinkie and Fluttershy. After a walk of twenty minutes, the girls finally reached Fluttershy’s home. The house was mostly empty, Fluttershy’s parents had gone on a one week trip for their anniversary. They moved to Fluttershy’s bedroom, the place where the girl would feel more at ease. “Darling,” Rarity said as Fluttershy sat on her bed. The crying had stopped but the girl was still a complete emotional wreck. “Would you like some tea? I could go prepare you some.” Fluttershy looked at Rarity and nodded, she was about to stand but the fashionista stopped her. “No, no darling, there’s no need for you to stand. I know where the kettle and the tea is. I’ll be back in a moment.” Rarity left the room. “Fluttershy…” Pinkie started. She wanted to make her friend feel better, seeing her like this was horrible, but she knew that her usual tactics of parties and games weren’t an option here. ‘Think, Pinkie, think. Say something to make Fluttershy feel better… or just say something that will make her think of something different.’ “I haven’t told you about this time I left Gummy alone in the house. He somehow managed to get into Maud’s room and ate Boulder, Maud’s pet. Maud was so sad, and I didn’t bake Gummy a single of his favorite pies for that week. It turned out that Gummy hadn’t ate Boulder, I mean, it’s impossible for Gummy to eat a rock. The thing was that only Gummy had pushed Boulder behind the Desk. So as an apology to Gummy for-" Fluttershy’s cellphone rang, interrupting Pinkie’s story. Fluttershy grabbed her cellphone and looked at it, she just let it ring. “Uhm, Fluttershy, aren’t you going to answer that?” Pinkie asked her. “I’m… I’m afraid...” Fluttershy placed the phone on the bed. Rainbow leaned forward to look at the name displayed on the screen. Sunny. Her anger returned. The phone stopped ringing for a few seconds, then rang again. “Afraid?” Pinkie asked. “It’s… I’m afraid of t-talking to her.” Some fresh tears gathered on Fluttershy’s eyes. “If I hear her voice I’m going to sta-start crying, and she’ll ask why… It will either end in her telling me that she loves so-someone else or she will lie to me…” “Fluttershy, are ya goin’ ta pretend this never happened? Ya can’t do that, ya’ve ta talk with her.” The phone stopped ringing. “I know, Applejack, but I just… I-” “She doesn’t deserve you, that bitch.” “Rainbow Dash!” Applejack exclaimed. “It’s the truth! She’s better without her! We all are better without her! We never should have given her that second chance! I bet she was just using Fluttershy!” “Rainbow!” Applejack said with a look that was screaming to shut the hell up. She wasn’t defending Sunset. Applejack actually, more or less, shared Rainbow’s thoughts, but this wasn’t the time to say it. Applejack looked at the bed where her friend lay with her face buried in the pillow to muffle her pained cries. “Sugarcube, sorry about that, if there’s-” “P-please, just…” Fluttershy said, lifting her head “I’m s-sorry, but I w-want to be alone.” “Ya sure, sugarcube?” A little nod was Applejack’s answer. She sighed. “Alright, then we’ll leave now. If ya need somethin’, just call any of us.” Applejack stood and walked to Fluttershy, placing one hand on her shoulder. “We’ll be here for ya.” Applejack walked to the door and almost crashed with Rarity who was carrying a tray with five tea cups and a kettle. “Whoa, sorry there.”Applejack said as she walked past the fashionista. “Where are you going, Applejack?” Rarity asked as she got out of the kitchen while carrying a tray with a kettle and five tea cups. “Fluttershy needs some time alone. We’re leavin’.” “But I just finished preparing the tea, it’s chamomile!” Rarity said a she lifted the tray for everyone to see. “It will be tea for one. Just put it on the night table.” Rainbow said as she walked after Applejack. “Let’s go, Pinkie!” Pinkie looked sadly at Fluttershy. “Everything will turn out fine.” With that, Pinkie ran out. “Darling,” Rarity said from the door. “If you aren’t feeling up to it, the girls and I could talk to Sunset first?” “No, I… T-thank you, Rarity, but… I’m the one that has to talk to her. I just n-need some time to think, to clear my mind. Tomorrow I… I’ll talk to her.” “Alright. Take your time, darling,  but don’t overthink this, It will only cause you more pain.” Fluttershy said nothing. “I will come visit you tomorrow.” Rarity placed  the tray where Rainbow Dash had told her. With her hands now free, she turned to Fluttershy and took her hands and squeezed them. “Be strong.” The door closed behind Rarity, leaving Fluttershy alone as she wished. She grabbed the kettle and served herself some tea. Her hands trembled as she brought the tea to her lips. The tea was good, but it didn’t help her with her feelings. Actually, nothing in her room helped her with her feelings. She didn’t felt at ease. Everything in this place just remembered her of Sunset. This bed… here had been her first time… the one she had given to the person she loved the most… the person that was out there kissing someone else... The tears just wouldn’t stop. She had to take some fresh air. “Ah thought we agreed to let Fluttershy fix this thing with Sunset. To let her talk first.” “Then what are you doing here, Applejack?” Applejack sighed. “Ah knew ya would be here, Rainbow Dash.” “And here is where I’m staying until I have some words with her, so don’t even bother in convincing me to leave.” “Ah wasn’t here ta convince ya of anythin’. Ah would also like ta hear what Sunset has to say.” Both girls waited for almost an hour until they saw the flame haired girl approaching the entrance to her home. “Shimmer!” Rainbow called to the distracted girl that had been looking at her cellphone and hadn’t noticed them. “Huh? Oh! Hi, Rainbow, Applejack. What are you doing here?” “We were waiting for you. Where were you this afternoon?” “Oh, didn’t Fluttershy tell you? Sorry for not going out with all of you today, I was busy this afternoon. I had to go to the other side of the town.” Rainbow narrowed her eyes. “Shimmer, Where were you this afternoon?” Sunset frowned. “I just told you, I had to go to the other side of the town because I had to tutor-” “Shimmer!” Rainbow shouted, surprising Sunset. “Let me help you a little bit, because I think you forgot. This afternoon. Two streets down Crystal Mall. At the bus stop of the 4th street. Does that place ring any bells to you?” Sunset cocked her head to the side. “Ummm, no? What are you talking about?” Rainbow was slowly losing her temper while Applejack just looked at the two of them with a frown. “That’s strike two, Shimmer.” “Why do you keep calling me by my la-” “Who was that tall guy we saw you with?” Sunset was starting to get annoyed. “What are you talking about? What guy? Is this some kind of prank, because I don’t think it’s funny.” “We didn’t find your little stunt of this afternoon funny either.” Rainbow said, getting face to face with Sunset, looking her right in the eyes. “Rainbow Dash, today has been a really long day, if you don’t have anything important to say then just step aside.” Sunset walked past Rainbow, but before she could get far, a hand pulled her by her shoulder. “Why did you cheat on Fluttershy?” “What?!” Sunset swept the hand away from her shoulder and turned around with an incredulous expression. “Why. Did. You. Cheat?!” Rainbow repeated, punctuating each word. “What stupid thing are you saying?! I would never-” “Don’t even try that with me!” Rainbow poked unset on the chest. “We saw you, all of us saw you!” Another poke. “Fluttershy saw you kissing that guy!” Rainbow didn’t poke her this time, she just clenched her fist. “You broke her heart, and all I want to hear is why you did it? Remember, this is your last chance.” Sunset stood stunned. They had seen her this afternoon, kissing some guy. Fluttershy had seen it. Was that why Fluttershy hadn’t answered her calls? She had been trying to contact her the whole afternoon. ‘You broke her heart.’ Sunset repeated the words in her mind. She felt a pang in her chest. Just the mental image of Fluttershy crying for something she believed Sunset had done. Fluttershy was right now, heart broken, believing that Sunset had been unfaithful. She hated the mere thought. Whatever had happened this afternoon, she had to fix this now. “I didn’t chea-” Rainbow’s fist connected with Sunset’s eye and the flame haired girl fell backwards. “You think that I’m fucking stupid?!” Rainbow shouted furiously. “Stop trying to deny it! Why do you even try to deny it! You are only making things worse for you! Do you think you can just pretend it never happened?! Do you think you can just go with Fluttershy and pretend everything is fine?! What the fuck is wrong with you?! Why did you do that to Fluttershy?! ” Rainbow lifted her fist again, and Sunset braced herself, but the hit never came. Applejack had had enough of being just an spectator. “Stop, Rainbow.” She said as she held Rainbow’s arm. “I think that’s enough for today. It’s obvious we won’t get anything done here.” Rainbow glared at Applejack. She pulled her arm away from her friend’s grasp and walked away. “A-Applejack, I-” “Ah don’t want ta talk.” Applejack interrupted. Sunset noticed how Applejack’s fist trembled. “Ah’m really disappointed in ya, Sunset. All of us are. Ah came here, thinkin’ that ya might have somewhat of an explanation to yer actions. But if ya can’t be honest about it, then there’s nothin’ ta do. Just don’t hurt Fluttershy anymore than ya already have.” Applejack tipped her hat and left. “It wasn’t me.” Sunset whispered, but there was no one to hear it. > Crazy, but Cute > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset walked hastily up the streets. The sun at the horizon was setting down. She wasn’t paying much attention to her surroundings as she was deep in thought, she hadn’t even bothered to leave her backpack at her house. She had kissed some guy and Fluttershy had seen her? How could that be? She had been busy the whole day. The mere thought of her kissing someone who wasn’t Fluttershy was absurd, impossible… And yet, highly possible. After Twilight’s second trip to this world, Sunset had kept in contact with the princess through the magic journal. Twilight talked about her adventures with the pony counterparts of the girls. This was a thought that had crossed Sunset’s mind some months prior. If there were counterparts for each of her friends, for each of the people she had met in this world, then there was counterpart of her… or more accurately, she was the counter to this world’s Sunset. She had to explain this to the others. She had to explain this to Fluttershy. She couldn’t just leave her girlfriend to believe she had been unfaithful. She was going to fix this right now, that’s why she was heading to Fluttershy’s home. Turning the corner, Sunset saw Fluttershy’s home and picked up her pace. “Fluttershy!” Sunset called, looking at the left window of the second floor, hoping that Fluttershy’ face would show up. After a few minutes, Sunset’s called her girlfriends name once more as she rang the bell, but again, there was no answer. ‘She isn’t home.’ Sunset thought, but a small part of her was saying that maybe Fluttershy was at home, she just didn’t want to see her. What if Fluttershy was angry at her and decided that she wanted to break up? The mere thought of that happening… it scared her. Sunset shook her head. She shouldn’t think like this. She had to be positive, if she could just talk to Fluttershy, she could explain this… theory of her. Maybe it would be a bit hard to believe, especially because she didn’t have any kind of proof to back her up, but Fluttershy would surely believe her… right? Talking with Fluttershy was impossible as she wasn’t at home and didn’t answer her calls. So what was the plan now? Go around the city looking for this world's Sunset Shimmer? That wasn’t a good plan. She had no idea where to start looking for her. Rainbow mentioned the bus stop that was two streets down from the mall. Maybe if she… No, still impossible to track Sunset. Three different busses stopped in that place, and their routes covered about eighty percent of the city. She would just have to wait for Fluttershy to talk to her. Sunset pulled her phone and wrote a quick message. Fluttershy, Rainbow told me what you saw this afternoon. It’s not what you think it is. I have an explanation. Please, talk to me, I’m right in front of your house. I love you. Hopefully Fluttershy would see the message and would return home quickly… or open the door in case she was inside. Whichever happened first was good for her. She grunted and covered her left eye. It hurt, but it was a bearable pain, nothing to worry about. She would have a talk with Rainbow when all this misunderstanding got sorted out. This little walk of hers hadn’t helped at all. After her friends had left, Fluttershy had decided to go out to take some fresh air and sort her thoughts and feelings. She really tried to follow Rarity’s advice on not thinking too hard on this, but she hadn’t. She had thought of a bad scenario where Sunset had just grown bored of her, followed by an even worse where Sunset had never really loved her. Earlier, when she got Sunset’s message, she had thought that maybe there was a good explanation to everything, but she quickly dismissed it. Sunset was probably lying. She sighed. Fluttershy’s path was illuminated by the yellow light of the streetlights. She had walked aimlessly for a while now. She finally decided to look around her to make sure she hadn’t wandered to some unknown, scary place. She couldn’t believe herself. How had her legs brought her to the White Tails park? The place where her first date with Sunset had started. Just as in her room, she didn’t want to be there, she wanted to be as far away as possible from anything that made her think of Sunset right now… But she was tired of walking aimlessly. Sunset was probably still waiting for her at her home, like the message said, so maybe killing some time here would be the best. The fountain at the center of the park caught her attention. She just stood in front of it, looking at it but not really paying attention to it as her mind was in another place. She thought about what she had seen earlier. What had happened with her Sunset? The actions of the girl today had been completely… wrong, Sunset wouldn’t cheat on her ever! Or so she had thought. Loyalty, it is an important part for any kind of friendship, and even more important for a relationship. Sunset had showed that day that she lacked it, and now, after reading the message, it was obvious that she also lacked honesty. Tears formed in her eyes. Had Sunset always been like this? Had she lied from the beginning? Her phone rang, interrupting her thoughts. She slowly reached for it as she wiped the tears away and tried to calm herself. Was it a call from Sunset? She still wasn’t ready to talk to her. Fluttershy let out a sigh as she saw Pinkie’s name on the screen. “Pinkie?” Fluttershy answered. “Hey, Shy. I just wanted to know if… if you maybe need some company? I know you said earlier that you wanted to be alone, but that was in the past and now is the present so if you need anything…” Fluttershy smiled. Pinkie being a good friend like always, thinking of the happiness of the other. “Thanks Pinkie, but I’m... fine.” That wasn’t true, but she just wanted to be alone. Pinkie was silent for a few seconds. “Okie-dokie. Remember, if you need anything just call me.” “I’ll keep it in mind.” The call ended, allowing Fluttershy to go back to her thoughts, but not for long. The phone rang a second time. Looking at the screen, Fluttershy saw that it was Pinkie again. She answered. “Hey, ‘Shy, it’s me again.” “I know, Pinkie, what is it?” “Well, After I got back home I started to bake all the things I promised you, and I was going to tell you about that but I forgot so I decided to call again and see if you were hungry. I made your favorites, and my favorites… and Gummy’s favorites, but he already ate those so nevermind.” Now that Fluttershy thought about it, she hadn’t eaten anything since lunch, but with what she was going through, she didn’t feel like eating anything. “Save them for another day, Pinkie. I… I already ate.” “Oh, alright. Then I’ll bring you some tomorrow, that’s if Gummy doesn’t eat them first.” “Sure. Thank you, Pinkie.” “No problemo!” Pinkie hung up. Fluttershy could now go back to her- Fluttershy sighed as her phone rang for the third time. She quickly answered it. “Yes, Pi-” “Fluttershy?!” Fluttershy’s heart dropped and her eyes widened. This was Sunset’s voice. She hadn’t bothered to check the screen. “Fluttershy, are you there? Fluttershy?” Fluttershy was frozen, with her phone pressed against her ear, not knowing what to say. “I…” “Fluttershy, please, listen to me! I can explain everything, I swear! I didn’t kiss anyone this afternoon!” Fluttershy remained silent. “Fluttershy, It’s not what you think. It wasn’t me. This might sound crazy but I think it was-” “D-don’t lie to me.” “No, Fluttershy, just let me explain! It-” Tears formed on her eyes. “I don’t want to hear your lies! How can you say it wasn’t you? I saw you! I saw you cheating on me!” Sunset was silent for a few seconds. “Fluttershy, you have to believe me, it wasn’t me. I would never-” “If you are just going to lie and lie, then I don’t want to talk to you ever again, we are done!" “No, Fluttershy! Just-” She hung her phone, not wanting to hear more lies. Her tears now running freely down her face, falling to the edge of the fountain. She stood there, looking at the phone on her hand, trying to process what had just happened. She had broken up with Sunset? Yes. She hadn’t planned to do it. It just… happened. Fluttershy cried. It was over, all the happiness she had felt for almost six months. Why had this happened? Wasn’t Sunset the one? The most fantastic girl there was? Fluttershy had thought so, but Sunset had turned out to be- “Are you alright?” Someone asked as they placed a hand on the weeping girl's shoulder. Fluttershy jumped in surprise as she let out a quiet ‘eep’. Her grip on the phone loosened, causing it to fall in the fountain. “Oh! Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” The person said, waiting for some kind of response from the girl, but as soon as she realized Fluttershy wasn't grabbing her phone she reached in and got it herself. “Here I came to see if I could help you somehow and end up only causing you more problems.” Fluttershy remained still, looking with wide open eyes at the girl in front of her. The girl awkwardly tried to dry the phone with her dress. “I wouldn’t try to use it until it’s completely dried up inside.” She said before offering the phone to Fluttershy, who slowly reached for it. “I’m sorry, well, not for the phone. No, I mean, I’m also sorry for the phone, but I meant that I’m sorry about what happened when you were talking on the phone.” Fluttershy just kept looking at the girl’s face, not saying a word. “I-I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I was just sitting over there while I waited for my boyfriend, and I just kind of heard you talking.” The girl said with an awkward smile. “I know it must be weird for a complete stranger to come and comfort you after what happened. But, well, if I was me the one who had just broken up with my boyfriend, I would certainly want to for someone to comfort me… preferably not a stranger… like me.” The girl facepalmed. “I’m not a weirdo, I swear. I just want to offer you some help right now, because it seems like you really need someone, but I’ll leave you alone if you want.” Fluttershy was in some kind of a daze. Her mind was trying to process what she was looking at, trying to process what she was hearing. It just… This was just impossible. How could she be here? She blinked twice before finally looking away from the girl’s face. It wasn’t me. “Y-you are…” ‘You are not supposed to be here.’ Is what Fluttershy wanted to say, but the words wouldn’t come out. “I’m sorry, I haven’t introduced myself. I’m Sunset Shimmer.” Why, why was she acting like she didn’t know her? Fluttershy looked down. Why was Sunset wearing a dress? Sunset didn’t even own a dress. Why was Sunset wearing sandals? She hated using those, she always wore boots. It wasn’t me. Sunset was trying to deceive her, right? It was just… It was just… “Umm, and you are…” Sunset asked. Fluttershy’s mouth opened and closed until finally. “You… You know who I am.” Fluttershy focused her gaze on Sunset’s eye, trying to see if she could catch even the slightest sign of being deceived. “I do?” The girl brought a finger to her chin and lifted her right eyebrow while keeping the other in place.“I’m sorry but I really don’t remember meeting you before.” Her eyes never left Fluttershy’s face as they continued to examine the girl. It wasn’t me. Fluttershy stood up and ran away. “Hey, wait.” Sunset called but Fluttershy had already gotten away. ‘That was... weird. Really, really weird.’ “Sunset, I got the tickets for the movie.” A new voice, a masculine one said. A tall and muscular young man arrived to the center of the park with two tickets on his hand. “What’s wrong, honey?” He asked when he saw the girl looking in the opposite direction. “There was a girl that…” Sunset shook her head. “No, nothing.” She said with a grin as she got closer to the guy and wrapped her hands around his arm. “So, which movie are we watching. I hope it isn’t one of those cheesy romances.” The couple began walking towards the movie theater. “Nah, nothing romantic, but I won’t tell you what it’s about, I want it to be a surprise.” Sunset rolled her eyes. “Whatever.” “So, a girl.” The guy started. “Was she hot?” Sunset glared at him before punching him on the arm. “Ouch.” He said with a faint chuckle. Sunset turned her eyes to the front. “She was cute. A bit crazy, but cute.” > Forgive Me > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope filled Fluttershy’s heart, but she didn’t dare to completely believe it yet. It was just...  She didn’t know what it was, she just knew that she had to get to her home right now. She had run all the way from the park and now she was close. Turning right at the corner, Fluttershy could see her house now. Right there, Fluttershy could see a person sitting at the entrance of her home, a girl with a fiery hair. The girl was hugging her legs to her chest, her head resting on her knees, covering her face. Fluttershy slowed her pace. She examined the girl’s clothes. From what she could see, Sunset was wearing one of her favorite jackets, a pair of jeans and boots. Completely opposite of what she had been wearing in the park. It felt like an eternity, but it actually took her less than a minute to reach the huddled girl. Her heart lurched for the girl when she heard the faint sobs. “Sunset?” She tentatively asked and Sunset looked up instantly. She let out a low gasp as she looked in Sunset’s eye. One was red from crying, while he other was swollen and a small dark ring was starting to take shape around it. No doubt that Sunset had recently taken a hit in the eye. She felt sorry for the girl, but thanks to that eye, that last proof, her doubts were completely crushed. This Sunset and the one she had met in the park were not the same. Sunset remained speechless. She hadn’t expected to see Fluttershy today, not after the talk they had on the phone. But she was here, right in front of her. This was her chance to explain- or at least try- what had happened. “Fluttershy…” She started, keeping her eyes locked with the shy girl. “I… let me explain. I… It wasn’t… This might sound too farfetched b-but...” The words stopped. This feeling she had on her chest… She felt fear. What if Fluttershy wouldn’t listen just like she didn’t on the phone. It’s not like Fluttershy had come here to talk, she had come here because she lives here. What if Fluttershy hated her now? The flow of tears had resumed. She couldn’t live with that, because Fluttershy was everything to her. If she lost Fluttershy… No, she had already lost Fluttershy. The girl had broken up with her, so if she didn’t do something right now, nothing would change. “P-please… It wasn’t me!” Sunset said with a tone of desperation in her voice. She lifted her hand to reach the other girl, but shied it away in fear that Fluttershy would react negatively to it. She close her eyes, her left one hurting slightly. “You have to believe me!” Sunset fel a warm hand caress her cheek. “I believe you, Sunset.” Fluttershy said as she used her thumb to wipe the tears that trailed down. Sunset opened her eyes again, looking at Fluttershy’s caring, but sad expression. “I’m… I’m really sorry for not listening to you.” Sunset’s lower lip trembled and in a quick motion moved forward and pulled Fluttershy in a tight embrace. Her head rested on the crook of Fluttershy’s neck while her hands grabbed Fluttershy’s blouse from behind, she wouldn’t let her go. “D-Don’t break up with me, please.” “Never.” “I c-can’t lose you. I don’t k-know what I w-would do.” Sunset said between sobs. “I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” She said as she rubbed Sunset’s back. At that moment Fluttershy understood that the one person that had been hurt the most from this had been Sunset. They remained like that until Sunset calmed down. “Let’s go inside. We need to put some ice on that eye.” Fluttershy guided Sunset inside, to her room. Sunset placed her backpack on the corner before sitting in silence while waiting for Fluttershy. The girl showed up with a crushed ice pack and gave it to Sunset. Fluttershy sat on the bed, but kept her distance from the girl. Fluttershy had no idea what to do right now. She wanted to hold Sunset close, but she felt like she didn’t have the right to do so, not after hurting Sunset. To her surprise, Sunset was the one to close the gap, leaning against Fluttershy and resting her head on the other girl’s shoulder. “I… ” Fluttershy started, feeling that she owed an explanation. She talked about this other Sunset. “I’m really, really sorry for thinking you… that you had che…-sigh- I’m really sorry. But it just… You weren’t there. When I saw her I thought that you had lied to me, that there hadn’t been some tutoring class and I just…” Sunset lowered the pack of eye and took Fluttershy’s hand gently squeezing it. “I won’t say that I would never lie to you, I… there might be times when I will lie to you, but I will never do it to hurt you, and certainly, never to cheat on you.” Fluttershy looked at her oddly. “Then why would you lie to me?” Sunset scratched her cheek. “Well, maybe to plan a surprise for you. Or to tell you that those pants don’t make your butt look fa- Oww!” Fluttershy pinched Sunset’s cheek before she could finish. “I’m just kidding!” Sunset laughed while she tried to keep Fluttershy’s hand from reaching her face again. With a bit of struggle, she managed to seize both of Fluttershy’s hand and took this chance to push the girl on the mattress, keeping both hands above Fluttershy. Fluttershy pouted at the grinning Sunset, but inside, she was happy. That little comment from Sunset had helped to lighten the mood. Sunset leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on Fluttershy’s forehead. “I’m sorry, I did lie to you. I didn’t go to tutor anyone.” “You… you didn’t?” Sunset shook her head. She planted another kiss on Fluttershy’s nose. “I was at a crochet class.” Fluttershy looked at her oddly. “You were at a what?” “Crochet class. I’ve been watching some videos online for some time now, but I realized that just with those I wouldn’t be able to finish my little project on time. So I went to ask for some pointers on how to improve the quality of my work. They also helped me finishing it.” “Oh… okay. And what were you working on?” Sunset stood up and walked to the corner and opened her backpack, picking something out from it. “It’s a bit early, but I… I want to give it to you now.” Sunset moved back to the bed and handed Fluttershy a paper bag. “Sorry for not wrapping it properly.” She leaned forward and place one more kiss on Fluttershy’s lips. When their lips parted, Fluttershy slowly opened the bag, finding a little yellow pegasus plushie with a pink mane and tail inside. “Is… Is this a pony version plushie of me?” “Yeah. Do you like it?” “I love it! It’s so cute!” Fluttershy exclaimed as she pressed the plushie against her cheek, feeling its fluffiness. “Thank you.” “I had originally thought of making a little me but-” “You have to make a little Sunset. Please!” Fluttershy exclaimed, looking at Sunset with her best puppy eyes. Sunset laughed. “Alright. You know what, you will help me make it.” “Me? But I don’t know-” “That’s no problem, I’ll teach you.” Sunset said with a big smile. “I’m really glad you like it.” She placed her hand on Fluttershy’s chin and lifted it. She leaned forward and placed one kiss on Fluttershy’s lips. “That’s my gift for our six months anniversary.” Fluttershy’s eyes widened. “Oh my god! I-I also got you something! But I…” Fluttershy looked around her room. Where had she placed that gift? The last thing she remembered was bringing it home, but after that… Maybe in one of the drawers… No, it wasn’t there… Maybe she had dropped it. Getting down on her knees, Fluttershy scanned the floor of her bedroom. It wasn’t under the bed or below her desk. The little gap of the night table was too small for the gift to be there… Where could it be! “I’m going to the living room for a moment, I just have to look for-” “Is this what you are looking for.” Sunset said as she held a little box in her hand for Fluttershy to see. “Yes, It is! Where did you find it?” “It was right here on the bed, I found it just as you started to look for it.” “Then why didn’t you tell me sooner you had found it!?” Sunset smirked. “I was going to, but I got distracted watching you wiggle your butt in the air as you looked for this on the floor.” Fluttershy looked at her with a deadpan expression. “Hey, it’s not my fault that you have such a lovely derrière.” Fluttershy blushed. “J-just open it.” She said as she looked away. Sunset opened the box, looked inside it and with her right hand pulled out the pendant. She took her time examining the heart shaped crystal gem. “I… I had some trouble thinking of what to get you. I… When I saw that pendant I thought that it could be like I was giving you my…” Fluttershy looked down. “It isn’t as good as the gift you gave me. You put so much effort into it and I just bought the first thing I saw...” “Hey, don’t say that. It’s the feeling behind it what makes it special.” Sunset said as she put the pendant on. “Thank you. I love it.” Fluttershy smiled. At that moment, the winding clock in the living room announced the hour with ten consecutive chimes. Sunset checked the time in her phone and sighed. “I can’t believe it’s this late already. I should go home.” “You can stay if you want. We’ll share the bed.” Sunset looked at Fluttershy, a mischievous grin forming on her lips. Just the words she had wanted to hear from the girl. Sunset opened her mouth but quickly got interrupted by Fluttershy. “I swear, If you say something along the lines of ‘me wanting to get you in bed’ I will kick you out.” Fluttershy said seriously as she placed her fists on her hips. “I-I wasn’t! I-I was only going to ask if you have something I could wear for bed.” Fluttershy smiled. “You sure that’s what you were going to say?.” Sunset shook her head affirmatively. Fluttershy stood and moved to her closet, looking for something comfortable that Sunset could change into. She quickly found something. “Here.” She handed Sunset a white shirt and blue shorts. “I’ll go brush my teeth while you change.” “Hey, Fluttershy.” Sunset said before the other girl could leave the room. “Hmm? Yes?” “Could you talk with Rainbow? Explain what really happened today. I don’t want to give her a chance to give me another black eye.” Fluttershy gasped. “Rainbow was the one who did that to your eye?” Sunset nodded. “I will have a serious talk with her.” Fluttershy frowned. “No one lays a finger on my girl.” Her girl. Sunset really liked the sound of that. No matter what had happened today, she was still Fluttershy’s girl and Fluttershy was hers. “Thanks.” Both girls readied themselves for bed and moved under the covers. They made some idle chat for a moment, Sunset talking about this crochet lessons she had been taking while Fluttershy lay her head on her girlfriend's shoulder. She paid half attention as she was trying not to fall asleep. Today had been weird. Fluttershy had never expected to see another Sunset, especially not twice in the same day. She had been lucky to meet her at the park. If she hadn’t then she most likely wouldn’t be cuddling with Sunset right now. Now that she was thinking about this other Sunset... “Sunny.” “Hmm?” “Have you ever thought of wearing a dress.” “Mmmm… Not really, I don’t think I would look good in one.” “That’s not true. You would look amazing in one.” Sunset hmmed. “I guess I could wear one,” She smiled mischievously, “but only if you take it off me at the end of the day.” “I think we have a deal.” Fluttershy looked up with a smile that matched Sunset’s. “Good night.” She pressed her lips against Sunset before setting her head back on Sunset’s shoulder. “Good night.” Sunset’s arm would be numb in the morning.
