Pinkie's Party Games
Written by TheCrimsonDm

While the moon cast its enchanting light over the village of Ponyville, and the creatures of the night began to stir, six silly ponies inside a familiar crystal castle sat in a circle while talking enthusiastically. Twilight Sparkle was still not accustomed to her new castle, even after all the decorating her friends had done for her. So the one and only official party pony of Ponyville came up with an ingenious plan to make the princess feel more at home. The plan was simple, all six of them would gather around, and have the best slumber party ever.

Twilight Sparkle hadn’t gotten much experience with slumber parties, mostly due to the fact that half of her closest friends felt like it was childish. Out of the other two, well they were completely insane, making for some awkward situations to say the least.

The room they had chosen to sleep in was one of the guest rooms, chosen for its cozy size. There were a few pieces of furniture in this room, but for the most part it was currently filled with Pinkie’s party supplies and sleeping bags. Despite all of these things being in here, it was still quite comfortable for the six ponies.

“So, darling, what should we do tonight?” Rarity asked, while brushing her mane with an all too elegant hair brush.

“Um,” Twilight fumbled for an idea. After giving it a moment she gave up. “I don’t know, Pinkie, you’re the party pony. What should we be doing?”

Pinkie crossed her forelegs and a very serious look came over her. “We need to play… games.”

“Okay, that sounds fun,” Twilight agreed. “I have a starter set of Ogres and Oubliettes that I can pull out.”

“No,” the pink pony replied. “We need slumber party games. One that will bring us all closer together as friends, secrets will come out, things will be done, and in the end we will all be the best of friends.”

“No,” Rarity gasped. “You can’t be talking about that game!”

“I’m afraid so,” Pinkie said seriously.

Rainbow Dash stretched out her wings nearly hitting Applejack and Fluttershy before saying, “Sorry, I’m lost. What are you two talking about?”

Rarity looked away nervously and an evil grin came over Pinkie’s lips.

“Truth or Dare,” Pinkie Pie replied villainously.

Without warning Twilight clapped her hooves together and squeed. “Yes! I have always wanted to play that game with somepony. My brother would never agree to it, so I never got the chance.”

“Well you have five ponies willing to play it with you now,” Pinkie replied joyfully.

Fluttershy lowered her head and protested, “I, um, I’m not so sure about this.”

“Oh what’s wrong, afraid that somepony is going to make you kiss me?” Rainbow Dash joked.

The comment only made Fluttershy’s face become bright red and a tiny squeak escaped her lips.

A giggle escaped Pinkie’s lips. “Don’t worry, Flutters. We’re not playing Extreme Truth or Dare, that would be mean to Twilight. You have to be gentle your first time or else you won’t enjoy the experience.”

Applejack raised an eyebrow at Pinkie Pie before asking, “We are still talking about Truth or Dare, right?”

“I’m going to set up some ground rules!” Pinkie replied, happily ignoring Applejack’s question.

“Rules? I love rules,” Twilight exclaimed.

“Rules? Lame,” Rainbow Dash said loudly.

Pinkie waved a hoof dismissing the responses and explained the rules carefully. “First rule is a simple one, if you don’t like the question asked, or the dare requested, you may opt for the other option. For example, if Fluttershy didn’t want to accept the dare to kiss Rainbow Dash, she could choose to answer a truth instead. The only thing is that once you choose the other option, you have to stick with your choice.

“Second rule, you cannot dare somepony to tell you the truth, because that’s just lame.

“Third rule, if you don’t answer a question, or do the dare, you lose.”

“You can lose this game?” Twilight asked, concerned.

“You can now,” Pinkie Pie answered.

It didn’t take long before everypony agreed to Pinkie’s rules and decided to start playing. The rules seemed fair, though Twilight secretly feared that she would be the first one to lose. Fluttershy seemed to be the most nervous about playing, but Twilight convinced her to give it a shot.

“Since its Twilight’s first time, let’s have her go first,” Pinkie Pie suggested, nopony argued.

The princess shifted nervously as she stared at everypony. “What do I do, exactly?”

“First choose a pony, and then you ask them whether they want to tell you a tantalizing truth, or do a daring dare. After they do whatever you ask, we go to the pony next to you and it’s their turn,” Pinkie Pie explained.

“Okay, um… Pinkie Pie, truth or dare?” Twilight asked.

“Yes!” Pinkie Pie squealed. “You chose me, that’s awesome. Oh and truth, truth, so much truth.”

Twilight raised an eyebrow at the overly silly response but let it go thinking that it was just part of Pinkie’s crazy. It took a moment but Twilight found a question that she could ask and it was one that sounded fun. “Pinkie Pie, what is your worst fear?”

“Oh, oh, oh, I know this one, pick me, pick me,” Pinkie Pie shouted with her hoof raised up high in the air.

“I already did.”

“Okay,” Pinkie Pie replied. She took in a deep breath and in one long sentence she said, “My worst fear is to run out of flour while on a long vacation, in which I’m the designated cook, and it’s someponies birthday, but without flour I can’t make their cake!” Afterwards Pinkie took in a deep breath and smiled.

Twilight stared at her in shock. Sure she should’ve expected something like this, but that was still a very detailed scenario. Pinkie Pie was always the odd one though.

“Okay, Applejack it’s your turn,” Pinkie Pie stated.

“Alright,” Applejack said with a tilt of her hat. “Rainbow, truth or dare?”

“Dare, obviously,” Rainbow Dash replied.

At first Applejack sat in quiet contemplation with her hoof resting on the bottom of her jaw. Suddenly her eyes seemed to sparkle as a playful look overtook them. At first Applejack snickered and then she voiced her dastardly plan. “Rainbow Dash, Ah dare you to fly upside down, in a circle, three times.”

“Pffft, is that all. I could do that blindfolded.”

Twilight covered her eyes as Rainbow Dash leaped into the air and began flying upside down. Rarity ducked just in time as Rainbow Dash made a quick turn and attempted to fly in a complete circle. She managed to actually fly in a very awkward circle once before she overshot her trajectory and came crashing into the crystal wall. As Rainbow Dash slid down the side of the wall, Applejack couldn’t help but laugh.

After Rainbow Dash sat back down in her spot she grumbled, “Applejack, your turn. Truth or dare?”

“Ah reckon Ah’ll take dare,” Applejack replied.

“Cool,” Rainbow Dash said, calmly. “I dare you to go and kiss Rarity.”

“What?” Applejack replied.

“What!” Rarity nearly screamed.

Rainbow Dash crossed her forelegs and grinned. “You two heard me, now let’s see some mare on mare action. Maybe you two can teach Twilight a few things about life.”

Rarity growled at Rainbow Dash. “I will not kiss another mare, thank you very much.”

“An’ that doesn’t sound too awfully pleasant to me neither,” Applejack said. “I’ll take truth instead.”

Rainbow Dash looked put out but she quickly recovered, and said, “Fine then. Applejack, what’s your biggest secret?”

Applejack took a moment to ponder the question. Finally Applejack let out a sigh and said, “Ah’m gonna quit. Ya’ll have yer fun while I watch.”

“What!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. “You can’t quit now. Who am I gonna rival with now?”

“Sorry,” Applejack replied. “Ah never really liked this game in the first place, thought Ah’d try it for Twilight’s sake at least.”

“Whatever,” Rainbow Dash said, lamely. “Fluttershy, it’s your turn.”

A sudden look of horror crossed Fluttershy’s face. Her eyes darted across the room rapidly as she tried to focus on everypony at once. Finally she covered her face with her hooves and said, “I don’t want to have to choose anypony.”

“It’s okay, darling. Why don’t you choose me, and I promise that I won’t get upset with you,” Rarity said, calmly.

Fluttershy peaked out from beneath her hooves. “You promise?”

“I swear.”

With a smile growing on her lips, Fluttershy put her hooves back down. Fluttershy looked relieved to say the least in hearing that Rarity wouldn’t be mad at her for playing. Quietly Fluttershy asked, “Rarity, truth or dare? Um, if you don’t mind.”

“Truth of course.”

Fluttershy opened her mouth and quickly closed it again. For the longest moment she was quiet, a wing thoughtfully stroking her chin. Finally she smiled and asked, “Who is your special somepony?”

Rarity’s eyes shot wide. “I, um, oh you asked… that. Okay, Rarity, time to buck up. This was going to happen eventually anyway.” Rarity took in a deep breath before saying, “Spike.”

There was no response from anypony in the room, instead Rarity was treated with everyponies silence. After what felt like an eternity, somepony did respond. Twilight shook her head violently and asked, “What?”

“It’s true, me and Spike have been dating in secret for quite a while now. I’m surprised that you didn’t catch on to anything when I gave him that doll of me… the one he sleeps with. You aren’t too awfully mad at me are you?” Rarity asked, concerned.

Twilight couldn’t think about what she was hearing, her mind only drew a blank. Eventually the princess decided to do the only thing that she could. “I am going to pretend that I never heard that.”

“Sounds wise, Ah think Ah’ll do the same,” Applejack agreed.

Pinkie Pie was twitching in her seat. Suddenly Pinkie Pie said excitedly, “This is getting awesome! Now it’s your turn, Rarity.”

“Oh well, um… Fluttershy, truth or dare?” Rarity asked, nervously.

Fluttershy covered her face with her hooves again and squeaked out a response. “Truth.”

“How did you learn to speak to animals?” Rarity asked.

Fluttershy didn’t open her eyes as she answered. “I was raised by bears.”

Everypony now stared at Fluttershy. Rarity coughed, before asking, “Excuse me?”

Gently Fluttershy set her hooves onto the floor again. She looked very nervous as she said, “After I fell from Cloudsdale, I landed in Whitetail Woods, where a friendly family of bears adopted me. They taught me everything that I know.”

“This explains a lot,” Rainbow Dash stated, shocked.

Fluttershy grew a tiny smile. “It was actually very nice there. The only threats we had to worry about were campers, hikers, and picnic goers. That’s when I learned how to steal picnic baskets without ever being caught.”

“Who in the world taught you to steal picnic baskets?” Rarity asked.

“The bears did… why?”

“Never mind,” Rarity said, finally giving up on her attempt to understand this insanity. “Pinkie, it’s your turn.”

Pinkie Pie exploded with excitement as she jumped into the air, did a back flip, and landed perfectly. With a giant grin that was larger than her face, Pinkie Pie’s turn had finally come up. Pinkie thrust a hoof at Twilight and said, “I choose you! Truth or dare?”

“Um,” Twilight said while attempting to figure out what to do. “Dare?”

“Excellent, than in that case I dare you to play the next game with me first!” Pinkie Pie said excitedly.

“Can you even do that?” Twilight asked.

Applejack shrugged and offered, “There was nothing against it in the rules.”

“Fine, I’ll play the next game with you first,” Twilight agreed, though she really wished that she knew what the next game was going to be.

“Yes! My plan for tonight is almost complete. You are going to love me for this,” Pinkie Pie said.

“I really hope I don’t regret this,” Twilight said to herself.

Almost an hour later the game of truth and dare was over with Pinkie Pie as the winner. As Pinkie Pie rummaged through her saddlebags in the corner for the next game everypony looked at each other in excitement. Nopony had any idea what was next, but after all the fun they had in truth and dare, they couldn’t help but wait for the next thing.

“I hope it’s a physical sport, maybe night tag,” Rainbow Dash said.

“Oh no, nothing to ruin my precious mane please. Maybe a nice little card game,” Rarity offered.

“We could play a board game, it would be quiet and peaceful,” Fluttershy said, quietly.

“Boo, no board games. I want excitement, Pinkie,” Rainbow Dash hollered.

“Maybe it’s a logic game, that would be wonderful,” Twilight said. She wanted to know what the game would be just as much as the others.

“Come on ya’ll, its Pinkie’s game. Whatever she brings out will be fun,” Applejack said.

“Yeah it will be!” Pinkie Pie said from right next to Twilight’s ear.

Twilight jolted at the sudden appearance of Pinkie Pie. But how she got behind Twilight was impossible to answer, the saddle bags were in the opposite side of the room?

Pinkie Pie rolled a purple die down at Twilight’s hooves and said, “This is the game we are about to play together. I have all the other dice in my pouch here.” Pinkie Pie dangled a bag of dice in front of Twilight’s face.

Twilight used her magic to lift the die up and examine it. It was six sided die that had words instead of numbers listed on it. Twilight began reading the words out loud, “Kiss, touch, rub, lick, prod, caress?” Twilight gave a very worried look to Pinkie Pie and nervously asked, “What are we going to play?”

Pinkie dropped two more dice onto the floor. One of them listed the names of all her friends, and the other listed various body parts that she dared not name out loud. A wicked grin grew on Pinkie’s face as she stared deeply into Twilight’s eyes. Slowly Pinkie Pie said, “We’re going to play and adult pony game now.”

“And I,” Twilight said in pure horror at the realization of her earlier blunder, “Volunteered to go first, and with you…”
