Looking down at the five girls, she felt a small pang in her heart at seeing the anguished looks on their faces. They brought this on themselves though when dared act nice to her when she started school then had the gull to turn around and betray her. “You’ll pay for this bitch!” Rainbow Dash cried out, tears of anguish falling as she cradled Fluttershy’s unresponsive body in her arms. If any of them deserved pity from Sunset, it was Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, and to an extent maybe even Rarity. It was Applejack and Rainbow Dash that had opened their big mouths. “Why?” Pinkie sobbed out, her clothes littered with rips as she clutched her side, wincing in pain. “We never wanted it to go this far!” Applejack said, trembling in anger as she stood next to Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. She was fighting back the tears as she clutched her fists so tightly she could feel drops of blood being drawn. “Darling, can’t we talk about this?” Rarity asked quietly, looking sadly at the others around her in disappointment and anger. “We worked so hard to get where we are.” “You should have thought of that before betraying me!” Sunset hissed out, kneeling down a little preparing for a jump. Her regalia sparking almost as if sensing her mood, the custom made Air Treks infused with what little magic Sunset could access creating a semi-sentient set of A-T’s. “I swear it was a misunderstanding!” Rarity pleaded, looking up hopefully at Sunset who huffed and turned her head away from the girl. They had known each other for three weeks before tonight’s battle and Sunset had believed that they were her friends. Yet she overheard Rainbow Dash and Applejack talking smack about her saying how clumsy she would be and they refused to let her in their group despite saying at lunch that they were friends. If they didn’t want to be friends they should have just said so instead of saying that and making fun of Sunset behind her back. In a fit of rage Sunset spent three days learning everything she could about Air Trek’s and then building a custom pair with parts she bought from some dealer. She was shocked when she could feel the magic flowing into them from her own fingers unbidden, making the things change shape. That night the Hell’s Gate regalia was born and Hell’s Queen Sunset Shimmer rose to take her place as the newest A-T sensation. With her regalia she seemed unstoppable and rose in the ranks quickly until she issued an official challenge to her former friends, Sleeping Forest. The losing team would have to disband and retire their team name forever. “There were no misunderstandings, only mistakes! My mistake of trusting you all!” Sunset snarled before leaping off the tower, her blades throwing off sparks as she rode at an angle around it before jumping near the bottom, flipping over in the air and ricocheted off the two buildings sides until she was gone. It was finally time, the mirror portal was going to open and despite having fun and becoming one of the best and most popular A-T riders, even if her reputation at school was crap because of her bullying, she wanted to go home. To do so though meant that she needed to get Celestia before the princess could get her. In order to do so, she had a plan after using the portal to spy on the alicorn. She would steal the Element of Harmony and bring it back to this world. Under the highest point of the full moon before the portal closed again she would have maybe six hours to put the crown on an absorb the power from the artifact after bring it across the dimensional barrier which if she was right would increase it’s power significantly. If everything went according to plan she would become an alicorn and even more powerful than the princess herself. She would be able to return home without having to look over her shoulder for Celestia to find her every moment of the day. She would be able to have peace. All she had to do was get the crown from that damned purple menace that usurped Sunset’s own place beside Celestia. It shouldn’t be too hard as the girl may be book smart from what Sunset could see, yet she was pathetic in every other aspect. It was kind of cruel thinking that way she admitted, but two years of smacking down pathetic losers thinking they could take on the Hellfire Club and Hell’s Queen made her ruthless as she fell deeper and deeper into her own darkness. She never once hurt anybody since that night though when she seriously injured Fluttershy making the girl so paranoid and scared that she jumped at her own shadow. It was something that she still regretted though she never asked for forgiveness. Forgiveness wasn’t something Sunset deserved and she was okay with that. She never wanted to truly hurt anybody ever again and turn somebody into a shadow of their former self. All she wanted was to go home and not have to fight for her place in life and just live out the rest of her days in peace. As the portal rippled signifying it’s opening, Sunset briefly wondered if this was what she wanted to do. Steeling herself as she had made the decision long ago, she stepped though refusing to let cold feet stop her now. It was time to claim her destiny! She couldn’t help wondering if it was her destiny though wouldn’t she be the one in the purple pony’s place with a set of wings and a horn with enough magic power to level a human nation if she saw fit?
