> Midnight Warfare > by Aeon-Reaper > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Introduction > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Directly After Dusk Warfare The High Command begin the investigation and inquiry into Dark Storm. Celestia and Luna succeeded in convincing the Gryphon King that the massacre was done by a rouge Equestrian military operative, the Gryphons agreed not to retaliate against Equestria, if they were allowed to make Dark Storm face Gryphon justice, to which Equestria made a counter-proposal; He would be tried by both Kingdoms for his crimes. A few days after the investigations have begun, Dark Storm leaves the armed forces to avoid trial and then suddenly disappeared of the grid entirely, in order to avoid being persecuted as a civilian, and the inquiry against him was dropped But the others under Dark Storms command were persecuted by both Equestria and the Gryphon Kingdom. 2 Years after Dusk Warfare Civil war breaks out, with an insurgency of extremists trying to topple Celestia and Luna. Dark Storm had disappeared and left the Army, before the trial. Before resurfacing again during the civil war, by committing acts of terrorism against Equestria. The insurgents attempt a coup, but ultimately fail, and their leadership is eliminated. The decapitated rebels start to fade as a force, until Dark Storm uses his influence to seize control over the extremist remnants. His influence spreads like a cancer, consuming the criminal underworld. Recruiting Gryphons, Hippogriffs, Diamond Dogs, Dragons and Changelings, to his cause. He starts his massive reign of terror against Eqeustria, causing unrest and fear, and straining the relations between Equestria and the Gryphons even further. 2 years after the civil war, Dark Storm has become Equestria’s most wanted, with attacks daily and tensions only growing both outside and within Equestria’s boarders. 4 Years later… > Chpt. 1: So it Begins > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chpt. 1 So it Begins 4 Years later Celestia paced back and forth in her throne room, in deep thought. A look of focused concern and uncertainty plastered on her muzzle. There had been another attack by Dark Storm, this time it was the bombing of a park in Central Manehatten, resulting in the deaths of several ponies and many others injured. Celestia sighed and stopped pacing and just gazed out of the window with a solemn look as the sun was about to set. The princess then looked up at the clock and noticed that it was 4 minutes to 5 in the evening, she had a meeting to attend with the High Command to discus and approve their plan to put an end to Dark Storm’s reign of terror. In the past 4 years since he had left the Equestrian Army to avoid trial, Dark Storm had gone on a massive killing spree, his death toll now stood at almost a thousand, and all this because of a grudge against Equestria for giving him no choice but to leave the armed forces. His acts of terror weren’t limited to just Equestria, he had carried out multiple attacks against the Gryphons, Dragons and Changelings, even Yakyakistan had become a target. Celestia began walking towards the door and left her throne room and began her walk to the meeting room. The Sun Princess was in deep thought, thinking over what had happened over the past 4 years since Dark Storm vanished, first he had turned to criminality, then later he had been recruited by an extremist rebel group, which had ultimately led to a civil war in Equestria, and ending with the defeat of the faction after a failed coup and the death of their leaders. However just as things seemed to come together, they just fell apart again. Dark Storm had succeeded in taking control over a large portion of the group and soon became no.1 on Equestria’s most wanted list. However, Celestia was dragged out of her train of thoughts when she saw her sister; Princess Luna and Princess Moonlight Song; Luna’s student and adopted daughter, coming out from around a corner. “Celestia!” Luna greeted in slight surprise, “Hello Luna, hello my dear Moonlight” Celestia greeted the two other princesses “Hello Aunt Celestia” replied Moonlight with a small smile. Celestia gave her own small smile, yet she knew that they were just as concerned about what would happen as she was. Truth be told; everypony was worried for what the future would hold. With Dark Storms terror attacks and the tensions with the Gryphons, it was a very troubled and unruly time to live in. “Well sister, shall we go? The meeting is about to start” Luna said breaking her sisters train of thoughts. “Of course sister” Celestia replied with a nod, coming back from her thoughts. “This way” the ruler of Equestria said and resumed her walk down the hall which lead to the meeting chamber. After a few minutes of the walk, they arrived at the meeting room. The sun princess opened the doors and stepped inside along with her fellow princesses Inside all ready present was Princess Cadance and Prince Shining Armour, along with General Night Shadow; head of the Lunar Shadow Task Force, General Firebrand, General Black Hawk; head of Equestrian Military intelligence, General Iron Flare head of the Orion Intelligence Surveillance Department, Supreme Sky Marshal Silver Mane and General Phyco head of the Night Owl Secret Service. As soon as the three princesses entered all the others bowed respectfully. Celestia, Luna and Moonlight returned the bow, then walk towards the large round table to take their seats. “Thank you all for attending” Said Celestia as she found her seat, sitting down in between Luna and Cadance, with Moonlight sitting next to Luna. Every other pony sat down at their respective seats. “As you all know, Dark Storm’s latest attack was on Manehatten central park, 24 ponies died and many more were injured” Said Celestia with a clear authoritative voice, yet the discomfort and the fear was apparent in her undertone. Ponies nodded their heads in recognition of this appalling fact. “This most recent attack along with increased tensions with the Gryphons has cause an awful lot of unrest and increased panic across Equestria.” Celestia said with a voice weighed down by sadness and fear. “We must put an end to Dark Storm immediately” “General Night Shadow, what suggestion have you come to?” “I advise tasking Ghost Squad 6 to hunt down Dark Storm. My orders are Kill/Capture” Came Night Shadow’s cold and calm answer. “They are the best covert operatives the I have, and with the increased tension along the Gryphon boarder, we don’t have many units to spare, they are the ideal operators to send” Said Night Shadow with confidence and finality in his voice. He received several nods from others around the table in agreement. “Pardon me for asking Night Shadow, but if I’m to be honest isn’t there perhaps somepony else that is even more suited for this kind of operation?” Luna asked. Celestia looked curiously at her sister, as did Cadnace and Moonlight. All of them wondering who the Moon Princess was referring to. However, Princess Celestia, Night Shadow, Shining Armour and the other generals all realized who the ruler of night meant. Night Shadow sighed “We discussed about sending him, but we all decided against it” Night Shadow explained “Who did you decided against?!” Cadance asked “The one pony who could rival Dark Storm himself, and the greatest LSTF operative I have” explained Princess Luna. “Commander Aeon-Reaper” everypony lowered their gaze at the mention of the Commander’s name. Princess Moonlight’s eyes went wide when she heard Aeon’s name being mentioned, her wings gave a tiny twitch. Luna noticed this in the corner of her eye, and discreetly put a hoof on Moonlight’s in order to keep her calm. “Why did you decided not to send him, he is the best LSTF operative?” Celestia asked “Because, he is needed elsewhere, along with the fact of his past with Dark Storm” replied Firebrand Luna sat upright “Don’t be ridiculous, surely you cannot think that Aeon has some connection to Dark Storm?!!” Luna almost shouted, rather offended by a thought that one of her best operatives could possibly have any connection to Equestria’s most wanted terrorist. “No certainly not! It’s just that we decided not to send him due to that we believe that sending him will add an unstable element to a delicate situation” Firebrand continued. “Nonsense, his past experience and knowledge of Dark Storm makes him the ideal candidate and above all he is one of my best operatives!” Luna declared “Unfortunately the High Command disagrees” Sighed Night Shadow with disappointment in his voice. The Princess of the Night sighed and lowered her head again, Princess Moonlight turned to look at her mother with concerned eyes, and put a gentle hoof on hers. Luna looked up and turned to her daughter, she gave Moonlight a small smile, knowing of her concern about the commander. Commander Aeon-Reaper, was indeed one of the best Spec Ops operatives Equestria had, he was an extremely skilled soldier, a genius strategist and tactician, a brilliant scientist and engineer, and a remarkable assassin, but he was also a sociopath and a nihilist. He had little to no regard for society’s norms or ethics, hardly any morality, very little empathy and he made no attempt to hide it or even soften his nature at all. Yet despite his attitude, Equestria still needed him, and held him in high regard, due to his accomplishments and his loyalty to their land. So no matter how horrible he could get, he still served the royal state and defended it to his last breath. Celestia sighed “Very well then, I understand. But I still would advise on having Aeon on stand-by in case Ghost Squad 6 require any assistance” Celestia stated The High Command nodded their agreement, “Very well your majesty” replied Firebrand, with a hint of reluctance. Celestia gave another sigh, and quickly looked around the room. It was a rather grand meeting room with windows of either side of it giving a clear view of the setting sun and the capitol city of Canterlot below. The Bringer of the Day looked around the large circular table, at all the ponies before her and took a deep breath. “Very well, then General Night Shadow. You here by have permission to proceed.” Celestia acknowledge “Thank you, your majesty” Replied the head of the LSTF. He then brought forth a document and handed it to the princesses. Celestia levitated the file across the table and lay it down and opened the dossier, she quickly read through the document, then handed it over to Luna, who quickly read through it. The two Princess nodded, and the goddess of the night brought forth a quill and signed her named on the order, then handed it back to her older sister, who then proceeded to sign it, approving of the order. “There, Operation Hunter is approved!” Said Celestia as she returned the order back to Night Shadow “Thank you, your majesties, we shall initiate Operation Hunter immediately, and Commander Aeon shall be informed of our decision and placed on stand-by” the dark general replied. “Thank you General” Replied Celestia and Luna at the same time. The older sister took another glance around the room and noticed that the sun had almost set. “Very well then, mares and gentlecolts, I think we have decided on what course of action to take. Ghost Squad 6 is to be assigned to track down Dark Storm.” Celestia said definitively “Yes your majesty!” came the reply from the High Command “I also want all Equestrian intelligence units keeping an eye out for Dark Storm.” Celestia continued “Of course your majesty!” Replied Iron Flare and Black Hawk “Good, then I believe that this meeting can end. Thank you all for attending, and be safe my ponies” Finished Celestia as she stood up, followed by her fellow princesses and Shining Armour. “Of course your majesty!” Replied everypony apart from the Princesses, as they stood up and prepared to leave. All the members of the High Command were the first ones out, knowing they had a lot to do and headed back to the Equestrian Military HQ. Meanwhile the Princesses stayed in the meeting room, thinking over what had been discussed at the meeting. Celestia gave a deep sigh, and looked up at Cadance and Shining Armour, Cadance looked back at her aunt. “You two may go, I know the two of you are need in the Crystal Empire” Celestia said to the couple. “Very well, but are you sure you don’t need any help here around Canterlot?” Cadance wondered “No, we’ll be fine” Replied Luna “Really, are you sure your majesty?” inquired Shining Armour, wanting to be sure, that they were alright with them heading back to the Crystal Empire. “I’m sure, go be with you ponies, we’ll be alright” Said Celestia with a small smile. “Very well, good luck Celestia” Cadance wished and gave her aunt a hug. Celestia returned the hug, and held her dear niece in her hooves. “Good luck to you too, my dear Cadance” Celestia wished. Celestia then broke the hug and gently stroked her niece’s cheek. Cadance whipped some tears out of her eyes, and smiled at her aunt, then turned to her husband. “Let’s go Shining Armour” Said Cadance, with a sad and tired voice, as she began to walk towards the door. “Of course my dear” replied Shining Armour and walked next to his wife as the two left the room, to head to the train station. That left the three remaining princesses alone in the grand meeting room. “Well…” Luna decided to break the silence. “I think I best be off, I need to go over a few things with Night Shadow and Moonlight” Said the Night Princess, as she turned to looked at her adopted daughter, who was standing silently behind her. It was clear that she was in deep thought. “Of course my sister. I have things to be done as well” Replied the elder alicorn. Celestia hugged her little sister close. “Take care of yourself my dear sister” Celestia whispered to her younger sibling. “I shall, and you too my dear sister” Luna replied, as she nuzzled into her older sister’s embrace. Celestia nuzzled back, then broke the embrace. Once the two elder alicorns broke away, Celestia turned too looked at her other adopted niece. “And you take care of yourself to Moonlight” Celestia said and walked closer to the youngest alicorn. Moonlight was dragged out of her train of thoughts by her aunt’s voice. “Hhhmmmm? Oh, of course I will aunt Celestia” replied Moonlight, apparently still in a slight daze. Celestia smiled softly at her sister’s faithful student, having some idea as what she was thinking about. “Hhhhmmm” Murmured Celestia. She embraced Moonlight in a warm hug, and held her close. Moonlight returned the hug and nuzzled into her aunt’s chest. Celestia smiled gently and gave Moonlight a small kiss on her forehead. “Be careful my dear Moonlight” Celestia whispered to her. “I will, Celestia, I will” Replied Moonlight. The two alicorns split apart, Moonlight remained silent and Celestia took a deep breath and turned back to her sister, giving her a small smile, but her eyes betrayed her. Luna clearly saw that she was worried. Luna smiled and placed a hoof on her sister’s shoulder. “Don’t worry sister, we’ll make it through this” Luna said with confidence, and a warm smile. Celestia couldn’t help but smile in return, her sister always made her smile. “Thank you Luna” “You’re welcome Celestia” replied Luna, then turned back to her daughter, who was staring blankly out the window, in deep thought. “Come, my dear Moonlight, we best go, we have work to do” Luna called to her student and daughter. Moonlight snapped back to reality, and looked at her teacher. “Of course, mother” she replied and began walking towards her and the door. Luna nodded and started to lead the way out of the meeting room, but before they left, she turned back to look at her sister one last time. Celestia smiled at them, but again her eye revealed her true feelings, they were all scared and nervous, not knowing what the future would bring, but they tried to make it the best. Luna and Moonlight quickly returned the smile, then left the room, leaving the Sun Princess alone as she walked over to the windows overlooking Canterlot. It was early dusk now and soon night would fall, the last rays of the sun were cast out over the sky, giving it a slight melancholy feeling. Celestia gave a deep sigh, and looked out over her land, wondering what would become of it? Where would this road that they had started down lead to? Only time would tell. Celestia looked out over the horizon. End of Chapter 1. > Chpt. 2 Ghost Squad 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHPT. 2 Ghost Squad 6 About 2 hours after the meeting. “Mother I’m worried!” Moonlight announced. The younger alicorn, stared at her mother who was slowly pacing in their personal chambers within the grand castle of Canterlot. Luna sighed and shook her head “I know Moonlight, so am I. But you need not worry so much about Aeon he can take care of himself, also he is not assigned to this op!” Moonlight sighed “I know he is capable of handling himself, but I still can’t help but feel concern” the young moon princess replied, Luna gave a small nod. “I just don’t want to lose a potential friend, especially one who is not open to friendship” Moonlight continued. “I’ve got so many things planned and I don’t want to lose something I’ve been working so hard for!” The light blue alicorn lowered her gaze to the floor, whilst her mother looked at her with concern and sympathy. The older alicorn walked forward to her daughter, and lifted her chin up. “Don’t worry, my dear. I’m sure you will succeed in your mission” Luna assured her, whilst placing a hoof on her shoulder. Moonlight nodded slowly. Ever since she had met Aeon for the first time 2 years ago, she had made it her personal mission to try and open him up to friendship and kindness. However, she had had no success in trying to break him, he still didn’t accept friendship into his life. Luna gave a small smile “It’s alright my dear, don’t worry about him. Now come on. We are awaited at the High Command” Luna announced and stood up and turned towards the door. Moonlight gave a sigh in defeat, and looked up. She began walking towards her mother, who was standing near the door. The older alicorn opened it and the two quietly left their personal chamber and headed out of the castle. Same time at the High Command: A light grey Pegasus stallion, with a black and blue mane, a bullet cutiemark and steel tipped wings, walked through the halls of the Equestrian Military High Command. Accompanying him was a shorter Indigo coloured Pegasus stallion, with a light blue and black mane and with no cutie mark, behind him were five other ponies; one light brown Pegasus stallion, with a small goatee, and a red and white mane, a dark blue Pegasus stallion with even darker hair, walking next to him, was a grey female bat pony, with a dark blue mane tied up in a ponytail, then lastly; a grey unicorn mare, with a dark brown mane, walking close beside a dark blue Pegasus stallion with a short, dark brown mane, followed close behind them. The 7 ponies walked on through the hallway, passing other ponies heading in different directions, some were in small groups like themselves others were rushing past on their own. The group of 7 were mostly quiet, aside from small chatter between the occasional members. The Indigo coloured stallion looked at the grey stallion leading them down the corridor with an inquiring expression. “Do you know why we’ve been called to the High Command, Hollow?” asked the cutiemark-less pony, to the leading stallion. The taller Pegasus gave a small shrug and turned to his colleague “I don’t know Stealth. All I know is that General Night Shadow and the High Command want to see us” He replied with a sigh. The dark blue pony only nodded his head before briefly turning his attention to the light brown stallion, who only gave him small shrug, being equally as unsure as the other two, then turned his attention back to the hallway in front of him. Meanwhile behind them the blue Pegasus stallion with the black mane was softly talking with the young female bat pony. “Got any ideas as to why the High Command has summoned us?” he asked. The grey bat mare only shrugged. “Don’t know Shadowmoon, but I guess it perhaps has something to do with the Gryphons. After what’s happened lately” She replied, with a hint of concern in her voice. The dark royal blue stallion only nodded in agreement at his adopted sister’s reply. He let out a small sigh and turned back in front of him, his gaze wondering to the floor. The group continued to trot in silence, not another word was said, all of them had the same uneasy feeling in the pits of their stomach, but none of them decided to speak of it. Whatever it was they had been summoned for, they knew there would be hell to pay in one way or another. The grey Pegasus continued to lead his squad down the halls until they reached the doors to one of the grand meeting rooms of the Equestrian Military High Command. The 7 ponies stopped outside the doors leading into the chamber. They briefly examined the door and their immediate surrounding; the meeting room they’re were summoned to wasn’t the grandest, but it was still very prominent. To the right hand side of the door, the windows were letting in the last glimpse of sunlight, whilst to the left were more doors leading to other rooms or halls. The leader of the group took a deep breath, then opened the door. He stepped inside, followed by the dark indigo pony and then closely by the others. In the room, either sitting around the long table or standing up, were several ponies from the meeting that took place at Canterlot castle only a few hours prior. Amongst them were Generals Night Shadow, Miche, Iron Flare and Supreme Sky Marshal SilverMane Aside from the Generals, Princess Luna and Princess Moonlight were there as well, having just arrived a few minutes before Hollow and his companions. All of the ponies in the room looked up from whatever it was they were doing, to examine the new comers. Most of the ponies in the room, all had various looks of stress, uncertainty, deep thought or concern, but they all softened once they saw who it was that had just entered. “Ah, Captain Hollow Point!” Announced General Night Shadow “Please come in” Hollow and his team gave a salute, then walk into the room and stood by the table. “Thank you for convening at such short notice, Ghost Squad 6. Please be seated” Said Princess Luna, and gave a quick gesture to the Squad to take a seat, and the 7 ponies obliged. “I’m sure you are wondering why we summoned you all here so briefly?” asked the Princess Luna “Yes, your majesty” Replied the grey Pegasus “Well, you all most likely know of Dark Storm’s most recent attack on Manehatten, the High Command have decided to send you to take down Dark Storm” Ghost Squad 6 sat still in their seats, yet inside they all had full storms of thoughts and emotions going on. Captain Hollow Point; the commander of Ghost Squad 6, sat up straight, in a tall posture with a hard, blank expression, his gaze unwavering. The rest of his squad all had similar appearances: 1st Lieutenant Stealth-Shadow; the second commander of GS6 and stealth specialist and technical expert, sat with a similar look and posture as his captain. Lieutenant Hexagon Pie; GS6 sniper, and surveillance officer, looked a little less composed, but still kept himself from doing anything. 2nd Lieutenant Shadowmoon; the squad’s assault specialist, lowered his gaze, not daring to look anypony in the eye, fearing he might give something away. Sergeant Lieutenant Steel blade; their melee weapons specialist, kept her face hardened and blank of any emotions. Sergeant Major Frostbite; Ghost Squad 6 Heavy weapons expert and ordinance officer, tried to restrain herself from sudden action, it was hard, but she succeeded in preventing herself from doing anything rash. And Master Sergeant Night Hawk; their intelligence operative, just kept a calm and collected expression. “Do you accept?” Lunas asked, snapping the Lunar Shadow Task Force operatives out of their trains of thought. Silence once again filled the room, Ghost Squad 6 looked at each other, then turned to their captain, indicating that it was ultimately his decision. Hollow Point finally broke the silence, nodding in confirmation. “We’ll do it, your majesty!” replied Hollow, with determination and an unwavering gaze. “Excellent” said the Princess of the Night. Ghost Squad 6, all shifted in their seats, straightening themselves, all keeping passive, cold expressions. “We have also decided to put Commander Aeon-Reaper on stand-by, in-case of any escalations” Luna added Moonlight and Ghost Squad 6 all tensed upon hearing the Commander’s name being mentioned. All members of Ghost Squad 6 knew of Commander Aeon-Reaper, yet none of them had ever worked with him directly. They all knew of his reputation, for being Luna’s most efficient operative, he had solidly earned that reputation and he was defiantly one of the most respected, but also one of the most feared ponies within the Equestrian Armed Forces. Stealth-Shadow was one of the few to have ever earned the Commander’s respect, and also having earned his as well. Snapping back to reality, Captain Hollow Point, straightened himself. “Do we have any leads as to where Dark Storm is?” he asked “Yes, there is an abandoned training facility in the Bronco mountains, the SSIIU believe that Dark Storm is using it as a hideout” General Iron Flare said. “How accurate is this intel?” asked Night Hawk. “Unclear. But so far, all evidence points to that it is used by his inner circle” Iron Flare replied. “Understood” Night Hawk, sat back, yet still uncertain and unsatisfied with this answer. Night Shadow pressed a hoof against the table and a holographic screen appeared in the middle of the table. “Your insertion point will be 10 klicks outside the perimeter, to the north, once on the ground break your squad up into two fire teams and move to stand-by positions, A & B, 2 klicks outside the perimeter” Whilst he was talking, the holo screen showed what he was instructing. It showed an overview of the complex, as well as GS6 themselves and their insertion point and stand-by positions, along with estimated hostile patrols. “The target is the command building at the north-west side of the complex, the mission is kill or capture, kill or capture” “Copy that, sir” replied Hollow “What opposition are we up against?” Frostbite interjected “Several heavily armed mercenaries: Gryphon, Pony and diamond dog. Their weaponry varies from everything from assault rifles, to SMG’s, heavy and light MG’s, as well as explosives, so expect heavy resistance. The total number of mercs is unclear but we believe at least 40-50.” Answered Iron Flare “Understood” Frostbite nodded, and sat back. Iron Flare gives a small nod to Night Shadow, and he presses more controls on the table, and the holo map redistributes the hostiles across the area. “We counted at least 6 4-troop patrols guarding the perimeter, 6 guarding the outer perimeter and several across the entire facility” the head of the SSIIU continued. Ghost squad 6 nodded and watched the screen with extreme interest and focus. Night Hawk was busy taking notes, as was Shadowmoon, the others were just listening, and would memorize their orders automatically. Iron Flare continued “A small convoy will arrive at 09:00 hours, there is a possibility that it might be Dark Storm himself, so do not engage until you have eyes on the convoy” “Understood” replied the Captain. Night Shadow nodded “You will have exfil waiting and the Shadowbolts will be on stand-by for air support, as will Commander Aeon” he proceeded to inform them. “Very well” they replied. “Good” answered the dark Pegasus, and sat back in his chair. Silence once again filled the room, as all the information that had just been given was processed by the elite covert squad. All the members sat still in their seats completely unmoving, all of them had an uneasy feeling in the pits of their stomachs, for the mission ahead, yet deep down they all knew that they would have been called upon sooner or later to take down Dark Storm. At the same time Princess Moonlight was having similar feelings, her stomach did a loop at the thought of sending such brave and loyal ponies to find a psychopath, who had killed more beings than anypony would want to count. And she still worried over Aeon himself, despite this not being his mission. The silence was broken again, this time by Lieutenant Steel blade. “When are we to be deployed?” she inquired. Night Shadow looked up, after having been in deep thought when the silence fell. “Tomorrow at 08:00 hours, you will be dropped off at the insertion point and moved to stand-by positions and await the convoy, once the convoy arrives you have authorization to proceed” replied the Head of the Lunar Shadow Task Force. Ghost Squad 6 straightened themselves, and all gave a nod to their commander. “Copy that, sir” they all replied. The meeting room became quiet again for a few moments, but it felt like an eternity for the occupants. “You best all get ready” Night Shadow said to the 7 ponies “Dismissed” Ghost Squad 6 all stood up simultaneously, and gave a salute to Night Shadow and the others, then proceeded to leave the chamber. As the covert, Spec Ops squad left, all of the ponies in the room, watched with worry and concern in their hearts. Moonlight was clutching to her mother’s hoof beneath the table, Iron Flare took in a breath after having stopped breathing for a moment, Miche swallowed hard, and SilverMane, clenched his jaw tightly trying to easy his worry. Night Shadow kept a steely gaze, yet even he was feeling uneasy. Ghost Squad 6 were his best operatives, next to Commander Aeon. He had hoof picked them for the LSTF himself, he knew they were some of the best, yet he couldn’t shake the queasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. As for the princess of the Night herself, she kept quiet and held her daughter’s hoof. But even she had the same feeling as all the others; they were all worried. Dark Storm had made it clear that he would bring Equestria to its knees, no matter what it took, even if he had to reduce it to ash first. And now they had decided to send somepony into his path, not knowing what would happen. Only time would tell, but one thing they all knew; something massive was about to happen… very soon. The question was: What? End of Chapter 2.
