Chapter 1: It Came From Wherever It Came From

"Will you accept this mission?" She asked him in an uncertain voice.

"I will accept it, and see it through to my journeys end." he said with some fear in his voice.

"Very well then, go forth unto this world and do your part. Farewell my friend, I hope to see you again one day." She said with a hint of sorrow

he nodded, stood up and headed out the door. The door opened with a hiss and he walked out while grabbing his weapon that was leaning against the wall. Then the door closed with him looking back once last time. It was a hope and a prayer to see if he could accomplish the mission.

Then, all of the sudden, The distinct sound of a space shuttle being launched into the unwelcoming space could be heard from even her office. And she knew it was the end of brave old John.

Shining armor was given the job to search the strange alien space craft with the help of her sister, Twilight. She refused to not go on this mission even though Armor had strongly advised against it. But that was to be expected do to the fact that it was Twilight. They hadn't even cracked the hatch open to the space craft and Twilight was already taking her notepad to the max of its writing material. But if Armor knew Twilight correctly, she would always have several more on the ready to be written.

"Shining Armor, we are ready to break the hatch open on your order." One of the guards said, saluting the captain. Armor returned the salute and nodded his head as confirmation for the guard. Then Armor gave the order and two magical aura's surrounded the hatch and pulled it straight off so that it was clear to enter the craft.

Shining Armor, Twilight, a couple scientists and a couple guards all entered the shuttle together. It was a lot bigger on the inside then the outside do to the fact that when the craft had landed, it sunk down into the earth somewhat. There were all kinds of machines with blinking lights within it and a strange container in the middle of the room that stood out beyond anything else. Armor approached the container out of pure curiosity and peeked a look inside of it. there appeared to be some kind of living organism that was inside the container. it was a strange and very tall bipedal creature, similar looking to the apes in the North but at the same time, was very different. "Twilight, you might want to have a look at this." Shining said.

Twilight approached the container next to her brother and gazed curiously at the being within it. The creature was obviously Bipedal and appeared to be very tall, if she had to make a estimate she would say it was around six and a half feet tall. Then, all of the sudden the creatures green eyes opened in shock and the container opened with a hiss and a cold mist of some kind leaked out of the container.

All of the ponies back away from the container, Armor was ready to blast whatever it was to kingdom come if it chose to attack them. However when the creature got out of the container it just gave a loud yawn and walked towards a door in the corner of the room that they had not explored. "HALT, IN THE NAME OF CELESTIA!" Shining yelled.

However that did nothing to attract the creatures attention as it opened the door and pulled out what appeared to be a heavy mace and aimed it at them. This caused Armor to release a blast of energy to try and knock the creature out, but all It managed to do was be deflected by the mace and rebound right next to shining armor. This caused Shining's heart to skip a beat and he gazed down at the burn mark on the ground next to him. He looked back at the creature and it appeared to have a smile on its face.

Celestia stared down at the creature from her throne. The ponies that had went to the space craft had decided to bring the creature here, with a weapon. "What are you?" Celestia asked the creature in confusion.

"I could ask you the same thing, if it weren't for the fact that I already know who and what you are, Princess Celestia." The creature said with a smile on its face.

"That doesn't answer my question, what are you?" Celestia asked once again.

"I am what is known as a Human, I will give you no further answers about me or my kind until we have developed a friendship of good strength." The creature said, that smile now gone and was replaced by a frown. Shining Armor told her how it managed to deflect a strong offensive spell, this worried Celestia but she did not let that show.

Celestia nodded to the creature as confirmation and ordered it be given a room. However the 'Human' refused this offer and instead asked to be returned to the space craft where they had originally found the creature.

I walked within the confines of my home, the space shuttle called the Marine. I went over to the computers and made a mental note as to where my location was. However I knew that the mental note wouldn't last very long but I didn't have any paper to jot down anything so I was pretty much forced to make a mental note. I opened the container that was my bed (For now) and lade down within its confines, I placed the Brink Of Destruction which is my weapon on my chest and closed the lid down. Hopefully the hissing didn't scare the guards that were placed outside as it made quite a racket. I rested my head and thought about what needed to be done in the future. The ponies wouldn't even know what hit them. They wouldn't know the sight of destruction if it was right in their face. And destruction would come.

When I had woken I opened the hatch and exited the cryogenic freezer/bed I walked over to what use to be the door and walked out, they still needed to fix the broken hatch for me but I suppose it would take time as everything would. I said good morning to the guards who only appeared to be frightened of me which caused me to roll my eyes in annoyance. I walked over to a patch of trees and swung my club which caused a laser to appear that, in turn caused the trees to fall down to the dirt floor that awaited them.

I then began to float the trees and cut them into the appropriate pieces for my want which was to build a home similar to the one that I lived in before I went to work for the PAUD.

In a few minutes of floating things around I had a decent log cabin on top of the hill that my shuttle had crashed into. I looked at the guards who had their maws to the ground. I laughed and looked back at my cabin. Of course I wasn't going to live in it until I had everything I wanted inside which would take some time. But I was a very patient 29 year old man. So with that I went back to the bottom of the hill and entered the Marine and took advantage of everything I had with me. I opened up the hidden armory and gazed at my wall of weapons both big and small. However I didn't want any of the firearms, instead I went to the corner where a large white box lay. I opened the box and gazed at the huge amount of MRE's within the box. Sure most MRE's sucked to eat but it was something, and I really don't think the ponies are about to go and hand me meat do to the fact that they are Equines and are not meat eaters.

I was about to leave the room when I noticed something that I had completely forgot while I was on the journey to this planet. My guitar, I smiled and walked over to the other corner of the room where the instrument was located. I picked it up and left the room. I headed towards the computers where a chair was located and I took a seat. it had been quite some time since I played this song but after awhile I remember the chords and notes and began playing the song. To my surprise, this world actually had a love for music, I knew it had magic but I didn't know music counted as such. But, low and behold, all the beats and sounds joined in with the song as I sang with the tune.

Once I had finished with the song I put the guitar down and walked outside. It was now noon from what I could tell and two different guards were at watch. They eyed me carefully clearly not trusting me. I just shook it off and went back to the pile of wood that I had left there and began to create something that I would need a lot more of. Of course wooden chairs weren't really that good for sitting on, but neither was sleeping in a cryogen freezer so I was pretty sure I could handle a wooden chair. It only took me a couple minutes for a couple chairs and I put the rest of the wood back in the pile.

I brought the chairs inside and placed them before me, they would need my authentication butt test to be sure that they were suitable for seating my wait. And indeed they were as they were held strongly together by the power I put into them along with the house.

Twilight sat in her library as she pondered about the creature. Her thoughts went to deep however as she was losing well needed sleep. And she would need it for the journey to the creatures craft tomorrow that she and her friends wee going on. So without anymore thought on the subject Twilight went to bed, secretly hoping that the creature was good at heart. Celestia seemed to trust it but Twilight had a sinking feeling in her heart that something rather terrible was going to happen, and it involved the creature in some way.

And how right she was...

Chapter 2: In Its Shadow

Within a mountain in the Everfree Forest. Something crawled its way slowly through the mountain, black smoke was left as a trail as it moved. And soon, to soon, the being found its way out and stood tall as it began to walk, slowly towards the future. Towards the destruction it would inevitable bring.

I awoke and got out from my bed and prepared. I knew the reason I was brought here and I knew what was coming. And so I grabbed the Brink Of Destruction and grabbed a some water that, to be frank was surprising that it wasn't septic. I did not expect to win, but it is a hope, one that I choose to hope in. The real reason for building that house on top the hill was do to the fact that I was bored and thought I would show off some of my power to he guards, but now I wish I had used my head and saved some of my power. But I could reclaim some of it. And so I did, I took the power that bound everything together and sucked it back up into my soul. With just that little power sucked up I felt stronger, and I was. And so I headed off. But before I left I told the guards where I was going and that they needed to tell the princesses that something was coming, a storm was coming. I was glad to see that they obeyed the command and thought to myself that they were good soldiers indeed. And with that, I headed off to destruction.

The being walked out of the Everfree and headed to the small town known as ponyville. The creature grew a black smile and laughed as black smoke came forth from its mouth. It had waited so long, and now its time had finally come. Destruction had finally come.

I walked through the town of ponyville while getting questions of all kinds from its residence. Then Twilight came out and began to furiously beg me to go back to my hole in the ground, I just waved her off, a determined look on my face. But before I left I told her to get everypony out of town and to the city of Canterlot, including all the Elements. She questioned this but I just looked at her sternly and she nodded her head as confirmation. I was at the edge of town and gazed down at the Everfree from atop of a hill. I saw my target and without any hesitation, I charged. Though, the surprising thing of all of it was the fact that music began to play which lifted my heart and made me smile. My time had come, destruction had come.

The being within the earth stared at the creature on top the hill, it was similar to himself only was not pitch black and covered in smoke. The being smiled and licked its lips and opened his arms as in the greet the unwelcomed protector, then, all of the sudden, music began to play from somewhere unknown, which confused the shadow being but did not scare him.

I continued my charge, as light began to shine forth from my mace (Which was part of its power if it was used correctly with a powerful light source.) and I lifted it high in the air. I took a large leap and smashed my mace into the creatures skull, it would have killed the beast if it wearnt for the fact that it all of the sudden turned to smoke and disappear. This caused me to look around franticly and before I knew It, I was struck from behind and was sent flying face first into a tree, the blow would have knock me clean out if it weren't for the fact that I brought my hands up to defend myself from the tree. The music got louder and louder with every second that passed by and strengthend my heart. I gazed up towards the shadow as it smiled menacingly, this turned what anger I had within me into rage as I once again charged, only this time, I used the light.

Princess Celestia. Luna, Twilight, Shining Armor and all the residents of ponyville starred at top the hill as the being from space and an unknown shadow did battle against each other, at first it looked like the shadow was going to win without very much of a problem but then the 'Human' turned around and raised its mace high and charged, only this time, it raised the mace higher so that the light that came from the mace could shine upon the shadow. This gave Celestia an idea.

I shined the light on the shadow and it tried desperately to cover its face from the light, but it was no use as I took another leap and smashed the mace into the creature, this time it actually did something and sent the creature to the ground screaming in pain. I stood back up and was ready to throw another hit at the creature but before I was able it lifted its hand and released two black beams from its hand that sent me flying backwards once again. I looked down at my stomach and was glad to see that there were no holes within me. Without wasting anymore time at looking at my belly I gazed upwards and was scared half to death by what I saw. I had told them to leave, to get out of here but instead I find them on top the hill gazing at the battle before them. The shadow creature seemed to notice this and looked at the top of the hill as well, it released a smile and started to walk slowly up the slope to the ponies.

He noticed the ponies on top the hill and started to slowly walk to the top of the hill. However before he could make it very far, the large white Alicorn started to hover high in the air and glow brightly. this confused him as he stood still but soon noticed what the Alicorn was doing.

Celestia started to hover high in the air and her horn began to glow brightly. Then, all of the sudden the sun began to shine brighter and beams of light were brought down upon the shadow creature. However her light did nothing to the shadow as it covered itself in a black shield that the light could not pass through. The horrow of all of this was the fact that the shadow could still seem to navigate even with the shield in front of it. The shadow was floating now just above the ground and continued to climb the hill. Horror filled Celestia's eyes as she all she could do was hope that the creature could not attack while it was within its shield. Celestia doubted this however as the shadow creature pressed on it movements. Then, all of the sudden the Human being charged forth and slammed its mace into the black shadow shield and broke it.

I slammed my mace down into the shield of the shadow creature and smashed it into a thousand pieces. However, when I struck the shield the creature spun around and struck me aside the head and sent me spinning to the side. It was angry, very angry. I struggled back to my feet and the music became even louder, so loud in fact that normally it would have hurt my ears, but not here, not this time. I stood up as tall as the creature. we starred at each other for quite some time but then the creature decided to break that stare by sending several black vines towards my chest to try and impale me. But he did not succeed as I grabbed his vines in my power grasp, the same grasp that I used to build the log cabin. The vines broke and the creature had a look of shock on its face and then anger, no not anger, absolute rage.

The creature then shot forth two beams, the same beams that had struck me in the stomach previously, however I just lifted my mace to my chest horizontally and blocked the two beams easily. What the creature did next however I would not be prepared for.

The creature teleported once again and I turned around to see if it had teleported behind me like before, however what greeted me was only the puff of shadow smoke and then I was hit from behind and shoved to the hard ground beneath me. The creature had teleported behind me and then teleported again to where it was behind me a second time and shoved me into the dirt. I tried to get up but in turn I was flipped over and what greeted me was flying fists to my head that sent me spinning beyond belief. I thought it was over then and there as the music began to fade and blood began to pool out onto the ground.

However, it was far from the end as the music on the outside started to disappear. but new music became a reality on the inside. I felt myself slipping to the merciful grasp of unconsciousness. But I knew my mission, and I would NOT fail. With one heavy push I threw the creature off of me and I felt myself slip back into the real world and more music began to come from somewhere unknown. It grew in sound, and I grew in heart. I looked around and saw all the blood that my body had left on the ground. I looked up at the creature with pure rage in my eyes and I screamed in anger and pain.

I picked up my mace as the creature stood up. I spat out blood from my mouth and raised my mace high in the air so that the creature could see the beam of light that was about to hit him. And, as I expected the creature hid behind a shadow wall and that was my chance, and I took it. I lowered my mace and ran to the shield. I raised my mace high once more and swung as hard as my body would allow me to swing. I smashed through the wall and crushed the creature beneath me. I swung time and time again, making sure that the creature was dead. However, it was not.

All of the sudden the creature shot a vine forward which impaled me through the chest. I stopped mid swing as blood bean to fill my mouth. I backed away and the vine fell to the ground and disappeared into the creatures shadow. I gazed up at the creature as it began to stand up and it looked me in the eyes, and I smiled. The creature noticed this and was confused and to be frank seemed somewhat frightened, and it had a right to be. I raised my mace once more into the sky as the last rays of the sun powered the mace and magnified the light onto the creature. It screamed in pain from the unsuspected attack. And then It accord to me, if it could be hurt by light then maybe, just maybe. And so I tried it out, all the while blood continued to flow out through the hole in my chest.

I aimed the mace at the creature who was now hiding behind a tree from the rays of the sun and I shot the laser through the tree. And indeed my experiment worked as the beam traveled through the tree and through the creature. The tree fell to the side to reveal a hole within the creatures chest as black ooze leaked out. I smiled as I saw the creature fall to the ground and melt away into more of the ooze. I laughed out loud as I heard hooves pound onto the ground. And then the music stopped, and so did I as I fell to the hard ground beneath me. And with that, I saw no more. But I did think one last thought. I had done my job, I had accomplished the mission. And then my mind went blank, and my body went numb as the cold grasp of death filled my body.

All the ponies were gazing at the unnamed grave. They did not know the name of the being so in turn, they marked it Ponyville's Hero And so there ended the life of a man, a good man. Celestia had made a speech about the creature and its works but in the end, the ponies all drifted back to their work. But they never would forget that man, he paid the price and he would always be remembered as the hero of not just ponyville, but the world.

However, in the deep dark of the grave, a heart began to beat once again. His heart began to beat. And the ground began to shift as the Human pushed against the earth. A hand ruptured out of the dirt, and then a torso, and then the Human stepped out of the grave. He grabbed the grave stone and threw it down into the hole where he once lay. He took a deep breath and began to walk towards the Everfree. "This is my job, and I am not about to retire just yet." The creature said as it entered the Everfree. Screams were heard in town and the Human knew they had seen the grave. But He just smiled and kept on walking. He never would stop protecting the world he lived in... He never would give up on it...
