> Sunfall's Raspberry Ice Cream Obsession > by EllyCoo > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > What?! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life is bad. Life sucks. Life is lame. Life is hateful. Life is hatesome. Life sucks. Life makes me repeat things. Life confuses me. Sunfall, like all days, was depressed. Tuesday was the WORST day of the week for her: Flash Sentry, the guard she had her eyes on since kintergarden, was escorting his precious, pretty, purple, perfect, PRINCESS Twilight Sparkle special somepony. Seeing them acting all lovey-dovey was irritating. And she had to look at that all day. Twilight, as a Pwwwiiinnncesss, liked to hold little ceremonies each time she left Canterlot for just a night and a day. Just a night and a day! Sunfall wasn't going to miss her in such a reduced time. She was even relieved, as she liked having time for herself, snuggling her Flash hoof-made plushie, and eat raspberry ice cream in bed... Wait. Raspberry ice cream? Something about that didn't seem right. Sunfall dropped her saddlebag. Something was wrong... and it had something to do with raspberry ice cream... In silence, she creeped through the living room and went into her small kitchen. She carefully opened the fridge and almost got a heart attack. "WHAT?!", she shouted so loud everypony in the caslte could hear her. "WHY?!" Okay, now she was breathing fast and loudly. She was in panick. In panick. So much in panick that she rushed to the toilets to pee. Ah. It felt ni-- NO, nothing was fine! Not even having a good time in the toilets! Sunfall had PRIORITIES! She quickly went out of the toilets and apple bucked the fridge door, still mad. No more raspberry ice cream. Now that was inacceptable. "FEEDBACK!", she shouted. Feedback, her bluebird, appeared at the kitchen door like a good soldier. He knew that when his master called him like that, there was something the matter. Taking a serious, agressive tone, which wasn't like her at all, Sunfall said, without looking him in the eyes: "Feedback. You are going RIGHT away. I need ALL the birds to come here RIGHT THIS INSTANT.", then she turned to him: "YA GOT THAT?" "Tweet!", he said and flew away. It took them a split second to all be in the kitchen, aligned and ready to receive orders. Sunfall violently slammed the fridge door open. The birds all jumped simultaneously when she did. "Now, tell me, BURDS. Which one of you is responsable for the lack of my DEAR RASPBERRY ICE CREAM in the freezer?", she shouted. "THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! Tell me NOW!" One of them shyly raised a wing. "You, Coconut?! NO! It can't be! I fed you everyday and-- what's that, Coco? WHAT? You're accusing me of... of not buying another box? ... Hmm..." Suddenly, she felt guilty. Very guilty. "Well, perhaps you're right... You know, birds... You have to hold back mama when she's not herself. When she's going absolutely insane and not buying raspberry ice cream in case of depression, you hold her back and say, Mama, you forgot the ice cream." She opened her arms and all the birds went onto her to do a big group-hug. But the problem wasn't solved. She had to get ice cream by the next day. Was she going to watch TV without any ice cream? No, that wasn't possible. Nope. She pushed away her birds gently and put back on her saddlebag she dropped. "Well, birds, thanks a lot. Mommy is going to the market now!", she smiled. "Be right back!..." Suddenly, she stopped. She slowly turned her head up to the clock that was hanging on her living room wall and fell on the ground. It was past 10 PM?? Oh no! The market closed at 8 PM! Wait, it was Tuesday. She maybe still had time if she ran there fast enough. She stood up and ran at the door that she locked quickly. She literally rolled down the stairs, not minding her head hurting terribly. She trotted like she never did through the Canterlot streets, when suddenly, somepony stopped her. "Hey!", that pony said. Well, actually it was a little filly. "Hey, there!", Sunfall said, sweat dripping down her temples. "Are you Sunfall?", the filly said, turning around Sunfall. "Yes, I am, why?" "I'm a big fan! My name is Aura!", the filly jumped high next to the mare's face who was panicking even more. "I love your birds! They have a beautiful singing! And your bird songs are amazing! And cute! And cool! I love them!" "O RLY?", Sunfall quickly said, impatient to finally be able to go. "Well, that's nice, but I uh, gotta go!" "Oh, I'm sorry! Wait, can I get an autograph first?" "Um, okay, but quick!" "Yay!", she said and took out a paper from her little purse, with a quill. "I even made fanart." "That's adorfable", Sunfall said while signing the paper with her mouth. "There you gooo!" "Hey, wait! I thought your signature had a little bird scribbled under your name?", the filly pouted. "Oh, right.", Sunfall said and drew the quickest and the best bird she could do. "There! All done! Now here's my, um, card, in case you want to talk, because I gotta go now!" Leaving a pink card in the filly's hands, the sort of card she only gave to personal friends, she ran way as fast as possible. Aura stroked the card against her cheek and walked back home, sparkles in her eyes. Sunfall was running like crazy, but then she tripped onto something. A rock. There wasn't even grass in Canterlot! When she looked up, she saw a grey mare with purple bangs. She was an earth pony, if she wasn't hiding wings under her dark grey sort of dress. Sunfall stood up, mumbled a faint "Sorry" and was running away, but the mare pulled her back. "You ain't getting rid of me so easily, filly.", she said with a monotonous voice. "You're saying sorry to Sedi." "Sedi?", Sunfall said, blinking, confused. "I have no idea who that is, I'm sorry, miss, but I gotta go--" "YOU TRIPPED ON HIM.", the mare said, pulling her back again. "Huh? That rock? I'm sorry, I don't think he can even hear m---" "You're not going anywhere until you kiss him.", she said, pulling her back again again. "Now." "Kiss a rock?! Are you mad?", Sunfall said, holding her head that kind of hurt because of the pulling back. "DO IT.", the mare pointed the rock on the ground. "You won't go anywhere." Sunfall quickly ran on the side, then on the other side, but the mysterious grey mare kept appearing before her to stop her from running. Desperate, she finally quickly kissed the rock before everypony's eyes. "CAN I GO NOW??", she said, crying and wiping her mouth. "Yes, you can. Geez, no need to cry.", the grey mare said again. Sunfall would have slapped her if she wasn't in a hurry. Then again, if she wasn't in a hurry, she wouldn't have tripped on "Sedi". Finally, she arrived to the market; that was closing its doors. No! NOO!!! It couldn't be. She couldn't give up now. She dashed to the pony who was wrapping things up. "PLEASE LET ME HAVE MY ICE CREAM!", she shouted to his face. "Please! It's very important!" "Sorry, miss, we're closing the supermarket for now! Come back tomorrow!" "I can't!", she said, almost crying. "It has to be for TONIGHT!" "Are you crying?" "... Maybe..." "I'll give it to you if you cry." Sunfall started hitting herself, but it didn't work. She asked to the cashier next to her: "Hey, you! Could you hit me, please?" "Huh? Now I'm not a violent stallion... I can---" "PLEASE DO IT!", she said, desperate. "Just slap me!" The cashier hit her gently. "Harder!" He did so. "Agh! Harder! I feel it coming!" "HGN!", the stallion said and slapped her harder, feeling a bit guilty. "Aahh! Almost there! Harder!!" "GAAAHHH!!", the cashier gave her a final hit that gave her a black eye. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "There. I'm crying. Sniffle... Can I have my raspberry ice cream?" "Raspberry?", the old stallion said. "You didn't say anything about raspberry! We don't have anymore!" ... Sunfall almost fainted. Okay. Everything was fine. She was alive. And healthy. But she might be sick if she doesn't eat her ice cream. No... she's a normal pony. She's gonna be fine. She groaned as she walked out of the market. Slowly, she went back to her home. Her life made no sense anymore. It was hopeless. Nothing was right today. Damn, her cheek hurt. Damn, she was hungry... She crossed the road where she met that rock mare. Where she kissed that stupid rock. Both weren't there anymore. Thank goodness... She still looked on the ground to make sure she didn't trip on anything. The filly was gone, too. She could see her shadow at a house next to the place where they met. She was with her family, eating dinner. Damn, she was hungry... She walked a bit faster and reached the Canterlot Caslte. She walked up the stairs. When she reached the guards, she showed them her identity card and went in, head down. she wasn't looking for rocks, she was just down. That was, until a pony came to her... "Hey, Sunny!", a male voice said. "Flash?", she said, looking up to the pegasus. He was without his armor. "I got something for ya", he said, and hoofed over a box of raspberry ice cream. "... Wha-huh?" "I noticed you liked this kind of ice cream a lot! And... I thought it would've been nice to, sometimes, thank you for what you've done for Twilight and me...", he blushed. "So yeah. Expect more gifts. Thanks, Sunfall!" Sunfall looked at the box, then into his blue eyes. Box. Eyes. She hesitated to jump at his neck and kiss him like she ever kissed. Instead, she gave him a big kiss on the cheek, which made her blush. "Thanks, Flash..." "No problem!", he said and gave her a hug, making her even more red. "It's to thank YOU, after all." "Well... Hehe..." "Well, I gotta go! Good night, Sunshine!", she said and grinned before walking away. Sunfall stared at his butt as he walked away, then walked away at her turn. She crossed the halls, looking at the box of raspberry ice cream. Exactly the type she liked. EXACTLY. Nopony noticed anything about her. Well, that's what she thought... Finally, she opened the door to her appartment. She dropped her saddlebag again and fell on her sofa, tired from all the running. She was about to take some spoon and bowl to eat the ice cream but... "I don't even need you for now.", she whispered. "I'm happy."
