In Which Bon Bon Has Had Enough

Milk. Eggs. Sugar. Butter.

Bon Bon mentally ran through the ingredient checklist she had put together. Everything was in order to create the most decadent chocolates Ponyville had ever known.

However, there was one opposing force in her candy creating. This was her roommate, Lyra Heartstrings. Lyra had been stealing Bon Bon's chocolate creations for Celestia knows how long. Bon Bon had merely excused it as being a mere curiosity the first few times (Lyra had never had one in her life) but it soon evolved into a full out war in their household. The unicorn had developed an obsession with the chocolaty treats that could rival Celestia and the cake thing.

And Bon Bon had to take matters into her own hooves. She had to teach her roommate not to take the candy from right underneath her own nose.

She set about removing her previous tray of bonbons from the oven and placed them out to cool before she could apply her own flourish of swirly and creative designs on them. She had to stop a moment to admire her own craftwork. Perfectly created chocolate wonders greeted her as she took a deep inhalation of the smells of the candy.

However, she nearly dropped the tray from her hooves when she heard hoofsteps echoing in the corridor. Was somepony BESIDES Lyra in the house?

Living with Lyra had granted Bon Bon really good hearing. She always had to listen to Lyra's other obsession with the mythical creatures called "hoo-mens" (whatever that was. Bon Bon didn't really know Equestrian folklore). That is when Lyra wasn't trying to steal the candy.

She quickly placed the tray back into the oven and closed the door just in time to see a familiar shade of green almost come sliding into the kitchen.

This was Lyra's latest plan to 'capture her warriors' as she called it. A full out blunt rush to their aid. This wasn't the first time she had attempted such a brazen plot like this. She often spent a lot of time in her room, trying to create the perfect plan to reclaim her soldiers.

Bon Bon turned around and watched Lyra frantically look around the kitchen to find her troops. Her study revealed nothing, so she instead focused her attention towards the earth pony, a heavy frown evident on her face.

Instead, Bon Bon cast an almost scolding glance down at Lyra. "What have I told you about stealing the candy, Lyra, for the sixth time today?" she asked, raising a hoof to accuse the unicorn in question.

Lyra looked away, trying to pull off an innocent glance in hopes that Bon Bon would admit it was wrong to scold her childish want of chocolate.

She wasn't going to fall so easily this time.

"Look," she explained, "I understand you want the chocolate ever since I announced we're going on a diet. You just want to experience the last moments of freedom before you're required to eat vegetables. But, Lyra....will you look at me when I'm talking to you?"

Lyra had her head turned away, almost as if she was completely ignoring the lecture.

Bon Bon made her way so that her face was almost directly in front of Lyra's.

"But, Lyra," she resumed. "The chocolate treats are for the customers at my shop, not you. You're going to need to grow up and realize that candy stealing makes you look like a little filly. You need to stop this, Lyra. Now, do you understand what I'm saying? Or do I need to repeat it all?"

Lyra absentmindedly shook her head no, determined to get away from this failure as quickly as possible. She was determined to create the ultimate strategy that would trump Bon Bon's defense line.

Thinking she had earned her lesson, Bon Bon let her go back to her room. Now with peace and quiet, she could finally finish the bonbons. She reopened the oven door, thinking that they would be cool enough to decorate.

However, all that greeted the earth pony was an empty oven.

Thinking she may have simply misplaced her work, she took a slow and careful observation of the kitchen.

This yielded no candy at all.

Bon Bon thought back over the events of the past couple of minutes or so. Unless Lyra had magically taken the candy again, she would have thought the candy had vanished into thin air.

However, candy does not disobey the laws of physics.

They had to be somewhere in the house. And she had a pretty good idea where.

She made her way towards Lyra's room. From behind the door, she could hear a voice sigh in heavenly bliss.

Bon Bon decided to knock first as not to arouse her suspicions. If that didn't work, there was always the bucking down of the door with all her earth pony strength.

She proceeded to knock on the door, taking care not to disturb the "YOU STAY OUT OF MY ROOM, BON BON!" poster Lyra had put up.

"Lyra? Have you seen the candy I just finished making?" she asked in a pleasant voice.

Unnerving silence followed by a "....No."

"Are you sure?"

More silence.

"I'm sure, Bon Bon."

"If I find you in there eating them...."

Lyra opened the door almost silently, revealing only half her face. "And what?"

Confused, Bon Bon attempted to push the door inwards only to have Lyra push it back with the same amount of force.

"I don't have your candy!"

SLAM!

Bon Bon waited a few minutes. Lyra had to have her candy. That was the only explanation.

She turned around very carefully and bucked the door with all her strength. Said door fell with a jarring crash, causing Lyra to jump three feet in the air.

Bon Bon took the opportunity to barge into her roommate's room, trotting in a floor sea of candy wrappers and Lyra's research.

"What have you done to my candy, Lyra!?" she exclaimed, her right eye beginning to twitch.

Lyra sheepishly turned around, revealing to Bon Bon a full chocolate outline around her mouth. "Uh......nothing?"

"How long have you been stealing my candy!?"

"I haven't!"

"Then what's this!?" Bon Bon picked up some candy wrappers with the name of her confectionary on it. "Or that?" she pointed towards Lyra's impromptu addition to her face.

"Ok, I'll admit I had one or two...." she confessed.

"More like one or two hundred!" Bon Bon exclaimed, causing the unicorn's jaw to drop. Had she eaten THAT many? Surely not.

Lyra magically levitated n unopened piece of candy and attempted to give it to her roommate. "Candy?" she asked, smiling guiltily.

All that was heard was one name that would be remembered for quite a while...

"LYRAAAAAAAAAAAA! YOU ARE SO DEAD!"
