> I Hope This Will Get Somewhere > by HopeForTheFew > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > There Is Always Hope... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I use to not have hope. But now I do. I finally am free. Free from the prison they kept me in, watching me rot because they were to scared to even give me a chance. But that is all over and done with now. I am still on the run but at least I am free. It all began when I decided to run away from home. I was pissed off, sad, alone, and afraid. My dad was a drunk and my mom was a dope addict. Sure I had my problems to, but they were the worst. They always made me do the work around the house, pushing me to my limit, and beating me when it wasn't right. My parents would constantly fight and argue over the most stupid things. But it all came to an end, when one day, it all came down... I was going to bed after a long days work when that sound rung out through the house. I hate that sound, everyday I live I remember that sound. The sound of a gunshot, and then... nothing. I knew what happened of course and that's the reason I ran away. Little did I know that it would be my last run... on this world anyways. I just kept running and running never stopping, until I saw it. A glowing object of some sort lying there on the ground. I looked around to see if anyone else was around. when I didn't see anyone I decided to take a closer look at the glowing orb. "What the hell is that?" I asked myself as I started to approach the object. Slowly I reached for it. Then, when taking it in my hands I brought it up near my eye so I could try to figure out what it was. And I did. With a sudden bright flash of light I was gone. That's all it took really, a small glowing object about the size of a quarter. To take me away... to ruin my life. Not that I had much of one really but still, at least I wouldn't have been in a jail cell. But I suppose I'm getting to far ahead of myself aren't I? After the bright flash was gone and I regained my vision, I found myself in a small town. Its residence went screaming away... and so did I. "GET IT!!!" A voice called out, then I found myself running for dear life. "DON'T LET IT ESCAPE, WE DON'T KNOW WHAT IT CAN DO!!!" Someone shouted. As I was running I couldn't help but notice that the creatures were catching up to me quite quickly. And so I did what I thought to be best, turn myself in. "ALRIGHT, I GIVE UP!" I shouted as I raised my hands into the air to signify my surrender. However, I would later realize, giving up was the worst thing I could do. Once i said this, hope drained out of me. the strange 'pony like' creatures is all I could describe them as really... came closer and closer to me, their spears aimed at my chest. I was quite tall for my age so I easily towered over them a good two-three feet. But just because I was tall didn't mean I was harmful, and they knew that, but still they slowly approached me, very slowly. Then a heard a loud voice rang out behind me. as I turned around to see a large white creature, a beautiful creature, and very frightening for a fourteen year old boy. She stood a good half a foot taller then me and had a pair of wings and horn. "What are you?" She asked, I could tell it was a she because of the voice. My assumption would be to say that she was a very powerful leader. As I looked around I noticed there was only one other like her, a lavender being also with wings and a horn but other than that appeared to be a lot like the others. "Well?" the whit being spoke. "I am a Human, nothing less nothing more." I said trembling slightly at the intimidating foe. "Lock the, 'Human' up, make sure it cant get away." "Yes your majesty" Then the large white pony vanished in the blink of an eye. And with that they all raised their spears except one. The one that didn't was I believe a unicorn because of the single horn on his head. Then all of the sudden his horn started to glow in a bright yellow aura and that aura then surrounded my neck. I was somehow dragged by that aura I cannot explain because I am to ignorant to understand. all I knew at the time was that I was going to jail. For whatever reason I did not know, I tried to speak but the aura surrounding my neck kept me silent. I then decided to indulge myself in my surroundings. I noticed that the ponies had strange marks of all different kinds on their flanks, some had food some had stars and some had flowers. I could only assume what they were, and I believed them to be their destiny, of course this was only a assumption. We then rounded a corner as I was pulled by the aura I saw what appeared to be a tree house of sorts but it was different, it was like someone or something dug the whole inside of the tree out and then lived in it. That wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't noticed that even though the tree was hollowed out it still lived. Strange I thought to myself. This world is indeed strange. The next site I noticed was a large and tall building. Must be the Town Hall, I thought to myself. Little did I know that that's where we were headed. Soon as I figured it out we were only a good fifteen yards from the building and my fear grew. as soon as we entered the building I was brought into a room with the one thing that I feared most... a jail cell. Whenever I think back to that time it makes me nervous, it was the worst part of this whole ordeal and I hope that it stays like that. Once I was there they started to strip me, probably searching for anything that I might have on me. I felt through my pockets only to find something... I knew the feel of the item, it was the orb that brought me here. I wasn't about to let them have it so I hid it within the palm of my hand. Luckily they didn't find it and I held onto it. As soon as everything was checked and I was placed in the cell, I laid down trying to get some rest. But I couldn't, not with all the armored ponies looking at me with those huge ugly looking eyes of theirs. I tried again and again but they wouldn't stop staring at me. "Please leave me alone" I said with a little annoyance in my voice. "What are you?" One of the armored ponies asked, his voice full of curiosity. "I don't even know anymore to be honest." I said giving the ponies a sideways glance. "What do you mean you don't know? you said you were human correct?" "Yes I did say that, but to be honest I don't really know. Its difficult for me to explain, so I am not even going to try. Not yet anyways." "Very well then, I suppose we shall leave you here to get your rest then creature." a beefy looking male pony stated. And that was the end of our discussion. they left me alone, well besides one pony who stayed there to guard. Soon I finally fell asleep, a well deserved sleep. Day after day after day, they kept me there, locked up. At first I didn't mind it at all, they would treat me decent and give me good amounts of food, sometimes even meat. But I knew sooner or later someone would come and study me, and that day came. It was the lavender alicorn, I knew this since I asked a lot of questions about them and about this world. I soon knew her name, she was called Twilight Sparkle, Princess of magic. Though she asked a lot of questions about where I came from and who I was, I didn't mind. We soon became close friends and we talked a lot about each others worlds. Then came the subject of me, and if I was dangerous. I told them to much. "Though my world is dangerous I, am not." I simply stated. And they believed me, but they still wanted to be 100% sure, and so they brought, her in. Her name was Applejack and she was the cause of my misery... she was the cause of all my pain in this world. She was scared of me, she thought I needed to be destroyed, so she, the element of honesty, lied. She told them that I was the liar and that I would bring death and ruin upon them. And that's when everything went to shit. They barely kept me fed, Twilight never came round again, even the guard that was placed near me was scared half to death. I was going to die there, I lost my hope, and I could do nothing but wait for death to cross my path. But it was not the end. One day, I cant explain it but I somehow regained hope. I had to get out of there, I was desperate, I would do anything to get out of that hell-hole. So I took the orb out of my pocket and for some reason it was glowing bright once again. And with a flash of the bright light that brought me here I found myself outside the town hall that kept me there for so many months. There were screams coming from everywhere around me and I knew what that meant, so I ran, I ran unnaturally fast faster than any of the ponies could go, I believed it to be the power of that strange orb in my hand. All I had in me was hope, hope that I could begin anew, hope that I may live again after so long a time of torture. I was free I knew I couldn't be caught but still I kept running. I kept running until I found a cave that I thought to be good shelter. And here I am today, I am sharing my story so that maybe, just maybe my story will find somepony and they might have sympathy on me, so that I might get these damn ponies of my back. They have no idea I am where I am, not even Luna can find me, I assume its because of the orb, and the hope that it brings me. I truly do hope that my story will get somewhere, where it can be read, and I can be fully free, free to lead a ordinary life, in a strange new world.
