> Equestria Discord > by Epicdiscord214 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > After the Battle of the Bands > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The outdoor stage was filled with the mesmerizing song of the Dazzlings; Adagio Dazzle, Sonata Dusk, and Aria Blaze. Their vocalizing hypnotized everyone in the audience... but outside of the area, a random teenage boy couldn't get past the guard. The boy had black and white hair and red eyes. One pupil was bigger than the other. His outfit was almost completely black except for his brown jacket. His gray skin almost took the attention away from the fang in his mouth. "Oh, come on." the boy complained. "I just moved in town and I wanted to hear this battle of the bands I've heard so much about." "Sorry, kid." the officer said. "You need a ticket to enter. Since you don't have it, you're going to have to leave." The boy extended his ear and heard actual lyrics. "Hear the wave of sound As it crashes down You can't turn away We'll make you want to stay" "OH, COME ON!" the boy complained. "I so want to hear it!" "No ticket, no entry!" the officer said. Frustrated, the boy turned away and grumbled around the area. Suddenly, he found something that made him smile. There were a pile of crates leaning against the wall. The boy saw it as on opportunity and climbed them up. As he went midway until he heard a new set of girls singing. "Ooooooh I've got the music in me" He hurried it up and continued the climb. He raised his head above the wall and peeked. He saw the three girls make a sudden change into horse-like creatures rising from the jewels around their necks. They snarled at the seven unidentified girls up at the hill beyond with the costumes, make-up, and the stereo. The boy watched the creatures fly above the girls. They roared and five of them fell to the ground. After a few seconds, the red-headed girl removed her jacket and picked up the microphone and sang into it. The song continued while the other girls joined in. All of a sudden, a large horse with a horn and pair of wings appeared. "Now, there's something you don't see every day." the boy said. The horse glowed brightly as it used its horn to blast the Dazzlings. The impact broke apart the red jewels and it shined several rays of light in every direction. One shine had white and red lights from both the horse and the Dazzlings. That very ray of light was heading toward the boy peeking into the show. "Mommy." he squirmed. He wiggled when the white-and-red blast hit his torso. He became dizzy when he fell backwards. He rolled around in the grass until he reached the bottom of the hill. The last thing he heard was the song in the battle ending. The boy laid on the grass for another few minutes. All of a sudden, his eyes opened wide and without hesitation. His pupils shined a white and red glow as he grinned. His smile expressed his fang. "Chaotic!" he expressed. He lifted his legs and jumped up. He observed his fingertips. "Well, would you look at this? I feel a sudden change in me. In fact, I feel like a million bucks!" Suddenly, without any knowing of it, a large pile of money appeared beneath the kid. It reached up to his knees. He picked up a stack and saw that each dollar was 100 each. We had a half-smile across the left side of his face. "Now, that's new." he said. "Discord, you sonofagun, you really outdid yourself here. It's like your very heart is connected to the very fabric of reality." "That's because it is." echoed a voice sounding similar to the kid's. He followed the sound to a nearby pond and saw his reflection smiling while the actual boy was confused. "And I thought the light-horse was weird." Discord said. "Who are you?" "I'm you." the reflection said. "When your new powers came to you, I was born alongside. I have been given a mind of my own. Now, I am to act as your guide." "My guide?" Discord chuckled. "Listen, Yoda, I had seven different guidance counselors this past year. Most of them ended up needing therapy. What makes you think I need your help with my life?" "Oh, I'm not wanting to control your life, Discord." the reflection said. "I simply want to teach you how to use your powers. There's literally no limit to what you can do. And the best part: whenever you commit a prank, you'll be clean as a whistle. Your powers leave no trace of you or any evidence saying anything logical happened. It will be like magic." "Yeah..." Discord pondered rubbing his chin. He then shook his head and slapped himself. "NO! No! Remember, my parents sent me to this town for a reason. I don't know if you noticed, but my pranks is what got me kicked out of all the other schools across this side of the country. I promised my mom and dad I would be on my best behavior or they'll stop supporting me." "You're really relying on mommy and daddy to help you live?" the reflection scoffed. "Your powers can give you limitless food, drink, money, etc. Besides, you wouldn't want to give up who you really are, right? You're Discord! Mischief is your game! What if your powers may cause some peace disturbance? That's the point! Sooner or later, you'll have to cross the line eventually. You just can't help yourself. And I'll be by your side every step of the way." Discord took a moment to ponder. He never actually thought about what his reflection would say to him. He formed a grin and began to chuckle. He turned his head back to his reflection. "When do we start?" Welcome to Canterlot High, a school that was full of special people, from kind staff to extraordinary students. One student, Sunset Shimmer, brought magic to the world not too long earlier. She didn't even know the events that would've come afterward, but even though, everyone became friendly to each other. You see that kid there? That's Ricky, president of the Computer Club in CH. He took a flash-drive out of his pocket and observed it. He smiled and continued to enter facing the friendly hospitality of the school's every day life. But don't take it from me. Take it from these students themselves. "Welcome to Canterlot High Where we get along Where we all know right from wrong Come on in and give it a try Welcome to Canterlot High Where everyone's a friend Where even the most rotten girls can make amends" "I'm lucky to have friends I can depend," Sunset Shimmer sang. "Welcome to Canterlot High," the students sang, "Where the clubs are set for you Where you always know what to do Here, 'team' doesn't have an I Welcome to Canterlot High Where our smiles shine What's mine is your and yours is mine" "What's wrong with being kind," Fluttershy sang. "Canterlot High's the place to be," the students sang, "A school for you and a school for me We'll be happy to do the time If being a friend is a crime WE ARE FRIENDS WEEEEEEE ARE FRIIIIIIIEEEEEEEENDS Oh, look! It's her, Starlight Glimmer Our potential Student President winner" "I'll bring this school from inner," Starlight Glimmer sang, "I'm not looking for glory or fame I'm just here to make my claim MAKING EVERYBODY ONE AND THE SAAAAAAAAAME" "WELCOME TO CANTERLOT HIGH," everyone sang, "WHERE WE STAND TOGETHEEEEEEEEEEER WE ARE BIRDS OF THE SAME FEATHER" "HERE, WE ALWAYS SEE EYE-TO-EYE," Rarity sang. "NEVER TELL ANY ROTTEN LIE," Applejack sang. "IT'S ALL EASY AS PIE," Pinkie Pie sang. "IT ALL ROCKS HERE IN..." Rainbow Dash sang. "CAAAAAAAANTERLOOOOOOOOOOOT," everyone sang, "HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH WELCOME TO CANTERLOT HIIIIIIIIGH" "Beautiful day, Luna." Principle Celestia said. "The students seem to be in bright moods." "Indeed." Vice Principle Luna said. "Sometimes, I wonder what goes on in their heads. Anyway, I've got something to show you. We... have a new student coming." She reached out a folder. "Is that right?" Celestia asked. She took the folder and examined the papers inside. "What's his name?" "The other schools that had him said his name was Discord." Luna explained. "He's... a bit of a troublemaker. He once flooded his school with foam he created in a science lab, and he laughed about it. This school might be his last chance to be on his best behavior." "Well," Celestia said putting the folder down, "We won't deny the kid his last chance. How do we know who he'll be?" "I asked his old school about it." Vice Principle Luna answered. "All they said was 'Don't worry, he won't be hard to miss'." > Starlight's Competition > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, a student can volunteer or be chosen to give the new student a tour of Canterlot High. This time, it was Fluttershy's turn. True, she gets nervous, but ever since the Rainbooms started, she gained a slight bit of confidence enough to meet someone new. She approached the new kid slouching by the front door and smiled at him. Discord saw the pink-haired girl and smiled back. "Hello." Fluttershy greeted. "I am Fluttershy." "Nice to meet you, Shutterfly." Discord said. "Name's Discord." "Um, it's Fluttershy." Fluttershy corrected. "No, I'm pretty sure my name's Discord." Discord chuckled. "Get it?" "Um, I guess." Fluttershy replied. "Just follow me." Fluttershy and Discord walked across the hallways. She introduced him to plenty of classrooms, but Discord couldn't stop making jokes at their expense. "This is P.E." Fluttershy said pointing at the gym beside. Discord took a whiff of smell, and plugged in his nose. "More like P.U." The next room... "This is our art class." Fluttershy gestured. "I'm more of a Picasso guy." Discord replied. The next room... "This is our shop class." Fluttershy described. "...No, it's too easy." Discord chuckled. "Do you have to make jokes at everything I show you?" Fluttershy asked. ]"You can find that I'm full of surprises." Discord replied. He then saw a poster with Starlight Glimmer. Patriotic colors surrounded her. "But enough about me. What's this about?" "Oh, that." Fluttershy said. "Actually, Starlight Glimmer's running for student body president. The election will be held in only a week." "I never get involved in politics." Discord said. "I think I've shown you quite enough." Fluttershy said. "Lunch is about to start in 10 minutes. Better head on back to class." She started to walk away. "Nice to be here." Discord said. He put on a wicked grin. "I think I'm gonna love it here." Lunchtime was different. In the lunchroom, tables are filled with separate categories, such as the jocks, the computer club, the musicians, and more. However, Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Fluttershy had their own table. The kind girl sat in the table with their friends. "Well, how was the new kid?" Applejack asked. "Very peculiar." Fluttershy said. "He doesn't seem to take this school seriously." "Give him time." Sunset Shimmer said. "Who knows? We might see a new side of him soon." "Let's not forget the last time someone new applied to this school." Rainbow Dash said. The girls set their glares toward a lonely table with only three girls. One had purple hair with a double-ponytail. Another girl had blue hair and one ponytail. The one in the middle had big, blonde hair. They were very upset and everyone gave them dirty looks. "Here's the real difference between me and them," Sunset Shimmer said, "After I was beaten, I was willing to learn about friendship. Those Dazzlings wouldn't want to learn if their lives depended on it. Thankfully, as long as we have the pieces of their jewels, their singing is powerless and off-key." "Not necessarily in that order." Pinkie Pie added. "Hello, girls." Starlight Glimmer said approaching the table. "Oh, hey, Starlight." Rarity greeted. "What brings you around here?" "Just here for an interview with you girls." Starlight Glimmer said. "See, if I'm going to be the student body president, I want to know everything about my fellow students, such as their likes, their dislikes, and especially their differences. I'd also like to do some opinion polls." "Don't you think you're going a little far on this campaign?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "After all, you're the only candidate." "I don't want to win an a technicality." Starlight Glimmer said. "I only want to earn it. ...Does anyone else notice Pinkie Pie's lunch moving?" Everyone looked at Pinkie Pie's tray and her small pile of mashed potatoes crawled out and to the center of the table. It shaped into a human and danced. The girls couldn't believe what they were seeing. "Dance, potatoes, dance!" Pinkie Pie said. "What the jumping june-bugs is going on here?" Applejack asked. "I don't know," Starlight Glimmer said, "But I do know that I will not stand for this." Outside of the cafeteria door, Discord swung his fingers to the dancing mashed potatoes. He laughed the whole time as he let go and the potatoes danced on its own. He pulled out a small, handheld mirror from his pocket and opened it. His reflection laughed along with him. "Oh, was that a great example of my hilarious prowess or what?" Discord asked. "Very impressive." the reflection chuckled. "You truly are a fast-learner. I believe you are ready." "Booyah!" Discord exclaimed. He then put on a confused face. "Uh... ready for what exactly?" "Making yourself known." the reflection answered. "Now that you have complete control over your powers, it's time to express them in front of the entire student body." "I thought we were trying to keep my powers a secret." Discord said scratching his scalp. "That was before I saw how quick you were on learning your powers." the reflection said. "It's time the students learn who the new school jokester is." "Don't!" an angelic voice called out. Suddenly, a tiny figure appeared on Discord's right shoulder. It looked exactly like him, but he had on a white robe, he had a golden harp in his hands, and a golden halo hovered over his head. "You promised your parents no more shenanigans." "I didn't know I had a shoulder angel." Discord said. "I was created along with your reflection." the angel said. "Look, you got lucky no one saw you with the potatoes, but you're thinking about exposing yourself." "Exactly!" a snarly voice hissed. On Discord's other shoulder, another miniature Discord appeared. This one had on a red, skin-tight suit and a tall trident. "Discord, you're thinking about it. Therefore, you want to do it. Well, who's stopping you?" "Oh, come off it!" the angel called out. "You come off it!" the devil replied. "You!" the angel replies. "You!" "You!" "You!" "You infinity." the devil finished. "You see, Discord?" the reflection asked. "The vote's two to one." "Your vote doesn't count!" the angel said. "You live in a mirror. You're flat!" "Well, you're not a good singer yourself!" the reflection replied. "Hey, fellas, stop crowding me." Discord said. "One at a time, please! I'm going in showing off my powers." "Yes!" the devil and the reflection cheered. "No!" the angel shouted. "Too late!" the devil said. "He said it. No backsies. I've got witnesses." Discord closed his mirror and his miniature selves disappeared in puffs of smoke. Discord looked in the cafeteria and snapped his fingers. Suddenly, music filled the air that got everyone's attention. They couldn't find the source. Some of them turned their heads to the Dazzlings. "Don't look at us." Aria Blaze said. Suddenly, the lunch jumped into the air and shaped into people dancing to the music. They pointed to the very door that slammed open. Discord appeared and smiled at the crowd turning their eyes at him. "Discord?" Fluttershy asked. "That's the new guy?" Rainbow Dash asked. "What's going on?" "LET'S ROCK THIS JOINT!" Discord called out. "Music! Choreography! Audience! ...Singing frog!" Suddenly, a frog dressed as Elvis appeared. He danced to the music while a microphone appeared in his hand. It sang while Starlight Glimmer glared angrily at Discord dancing along with the song. "See him dancing through the door With a mischievous grin There's a new student with imagination You'd never think, you'd never know That underneath his skin He's from basic inclination He's been from one school to another Always ending up the same Expelled. Sent away. Kicked out But this is going to be different So make way for this new student Discord will show you what it's all about And when he has a hilarious side You never know what he'll provide There's absolutely no one Who can have him undone You can't find a match for him under the sun Now, the time for humor has begun It's all just a harmless game THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH FUN OH, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH FUN YEAH, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH FUN OH, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH... OH, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH A LITTLE FUN" The song ended when Discord sat alone in a table. Everyone looked at him suspiciously. "I'm starting to think there's something different about that guy." Pinkie Pie said. "Hey!" Starlight Glimmer shouted as she approached Discord angrily. "Do you mind?" Discord asked. "I'm trying to eat." "How are you doing it?" Starlight Glimmer asked. "Well, I open my teeth and try to chew on my food," Discord said, "But you, girl, you're like that." He held up his hand and opened and closed it. "Look, I don't think I got your name." Starlight Glimmer said. "Discord." "Well, Discord, I won't tolerate this level of tomfoolery." "I told you, my name is Discord. It's certainly not Tom Foolery." "No!" Starlight Glimmer growled. "I'm talking about your monkey business." "Look, lady, I may be bananas, but I'm certainly not a monkey." "NO!" Starlight Glimmer shouted angrily. "I'm just saying, I prefer if you not do this much chaos in this school... or anywhere else again." "Says who?" Discord asked. "I'm the future class president." Starlight Glimmer said. "You're Starlight Glimmer?" Discord asked. "Wow, if you're this upset over a little fun, I wouldn't want to..." "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Starlight Glimmer interrupted. "Fun? You thought that was fun? Discord, that was the exact opposite of fun! That was demoralizing and disturbing." "So's your breath," Discord insulted, "But do I complain? No, because I am polite." "Look, kid, if you're going to keep doing this," Starlight groaned, "Then when I become president, I'm going to report you for everything you do." "Oh, really?" Discord asked. "Well, guess what, Cinderella's stepsister, if no one's going to stand up to you, it's about time I do. I'm throwing my hat into the ring too!" That declaration made everyone gasp loudly. "He doesn't even wear a hat." Pinkie Pie said. "What?!" Starlight asked loudly. "You can't do that..." She turned to the crowd. "Can he?" "Well," Sunset Shimmer said, "As commissioner for this campaign, I don't honestly think it's too late for any new candidates to enter. I think he's eligible." "Then it's decided!" Discord said. "I'm going to run for student president!" Starlight Glimmer turned her glare into an angry sneer. Her new competition grinned back at her. They were eager to beat the other. "Oh, no, he didn't!" Rainbow Dash shouted. > Discord's Plan > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Discord swung his feet back and forth in the principle's office. Principle Celestia pinched between her eyes after she heard about the new student. "Frankly, Discord, what you posses is very new, especially by the standards of this school. Your previous schools have been warning us of your mischief, and now, you have the means to make it more lifelike." "I'm one of the lucky ones." Discord commented. "And now, you want to nominate yourself as student body president." Celestia continued. "Discord, I want you to give me one good reason why I should allow you to." "Because the current candidate is a spoil-sport." Discord answered. "Young man, that's no way to talk about her!" Celestia shouted. "Look, Starlight Glimmer is an honest, well-behaved student." "Who called me a monkey named Tom." Discord added. "I'm sorry, Discord." Celestia said. "You are to remain at this school as long as you remain on your best behavior, but I won't accept your president application." "Of course." he said turning his eyes back at the principle. "I was simply asking. Hey, could you tell me what that thing is over there?" He pointed at the other side. "What?" Celestia asked turning her head. Discord seized the opportunity and reached out his skinny fingers. He tapped the side of Celestia's head and her eyes widened. Her eyes changed to a yellow color. They then changed to her usual shade. She smiled and turned back at the student sitting innocently in front of her. "Actually, Discord," she said, "After careful consideration, I've decided to accept it. You're now officially a candidate for student body president." "Oh." Discord feigned a gasp. "What an unexpected turn of events. Well, thank you for accepting me. Tell me, what changed your mind?" "I don't know." Celestia said. "I guess... it's all right for this school to have a little more fun." "Yahtzee!" Discord exclaimed. "Thank you for your time, principle." He hopped out of his chair and turned to the door. Discord chuckled as he stepped out of the door and closed it behind him. He stopped when he saw Sunset Shimmer standing beside the lockers tapping her foot. "How long have you been standing there?" he asked. "Since you got in there." Sunset Shimmer answered. "And I saw everything." "Well..." Discord said awkwardly. "Look, I'd change your mind too, but I won't. Call it my thanks." "Thanks?" Sunser Shimmer asked. "Thanks for what?" "For this." Discord answered. He snapped his fingers and a candy cane materlialized the size of a real cane. "I wouldn't be able to do this without you." "What are you talking about?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "Think back a few nights ago." Discord explained. "There was a battle of the bands. Sirens sprung out of their fake bodies. The Rainbooms showed up. You joined in. You all created a giant glow-horse. There were impact beams blasting in all directions. Well, I got hit with one that had an extra kick. 50% siren disorder, 50% harmonic friendship, and 100% opportunity." "That's 200%." Sunset exclaimed. "Wait. Are you saying that you got your magic from that night?" "Ding-ding-ding!" Discord exclaimed. "Give the girl a prize." Sunset Shimmer sighed highly. "Look, Discord, you need to control yourself. You could be in big trouble." "Oh, what could go wrong?" Discord chuckled. "Besides, how would you know?" "Because..." Sunset started to explain. "Look, I'm... not exactly from here." "Yeah, I know who you are," Discord said, "And I know your sob story. I know you're from a magical pony world and that you tried to use everyone here to take it over. That's another thanks I owe you. After all, you brought magic to this world, and that gave the Dazzlings the opportunity. And when you beat them, you gave me my opportunity." "You don't understand." Sunset Shimmer said. "Look, everyone in this world has a counterpart in Equestria, even you." "Really?" Discord asked. "What's he like?" "Last I saw him, he was a statue." Sunset Shimmer said. "Look. That was long before my time, but I read about him. He had the exact same powers you had, and he used them to take over the world. He was eventually turned to stone. That's all I heard from it before I ran to this world." "If you're trying to scare me into taking my name out of the ballot, you're wasting your time." Discord said. "Anyway, I feel that I need to know my fellow students a bit more. Show me to your band." "You know, you could say please." Sunset Shimmer said. "I can also ship you to Alaska." Discord said. Sunset Shimmer sighed and gestured him to follow her. As they walked away, Starlight Glimmer stopped watching from around the corner. She turned to Snips and Snails, her support. "You two!" Starlight Glimmer called. "Since I'm going to be working on my campaign, I'm charging you two with getting rid of the competition." "Huh?" Snails asked. "But... he won't be a problem." Snips said. "Everyone likes you more than him. You're a guaranteed win." "I can't risk it." Starlight Glimmer said. "Not with my plans in store." "What plans?" Snips asked. "Did I ask you to ask me? Starlight asked. "Just get to work! Find something, anything, to get him out of the way!" With that command, Snips and Snails bolted faster than a bullet out of her sight. She growled at the thought of Discord being president. "You want us to what?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Just play a song." Discord said. "We're in your band room. You've got the instruments. All you need to do is show off that rainbow magic that gave the Dazzlings their just-desserts." "Too late!" Pinkie Pie called out pulling out a sundae dish. She took a spoonful and put it in her mouth. "Let's just do it." Sunset Shimmer sighed. "Why?" Rainbow Dash asked. "He turned the entire cafeteria into a circus!" Applejack said. "The only thing that was missing was a bearded lady." Rarity said. She caught Discord about to snap his fingers toward her. "Don't you dare!" "Ladies, ladies, I only got the school's interest in mind." Discord said. "But... if you're afraid that you're not good enough, I'll be on my way." "What?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Don't fall for it, Rainbow." Applejack said. "It's a trap." "What do you mean, we're not good enough?" Rainbow Dash asked. "We defeated the Dazzlings." "Correction: Sunset Shimmer defeated the Dazzlings." Discord said. "As I recall, they out-sung you. Sunset Shimmer picked up the microphone and got you all back up on your feet. I'm just saying..." "Hey, we're still as good!" Rainbow Dash said. "All right, girls. Let's show this creep who's awesome!" The Rainbooms realized there was no talking their lead-guitarist out of it, so they took their instruments and played a new song. Discord chuckled as he sat back and enjoyed the show. "Together, we bring something to the table That helps us stay on our feet It doesn't matter what we are as long as we're able To see through this journey and complete We are puzzle pieces you've never seen before But this much, we dare to admit When you see that we are something more Than this puzzle can finally fit Look out, world. The Rainbooms are here And our quest is crystal clear Together, we'll be able to thrive And the spirit of friendship... The spirit of friendship... The spirit of friendship can keep us all alive" Discord enjoyed the sight and sound of the song he heard. He tapped his chin and started to grin. Suddenly, a glow escaped from the girls. They suddenly grew longer hair, pony tails, and pony ears. Despite the change, they continued singing. "We may have our specialties, but also, our flaws That's where friends with differences come in They can help us up, and all because We prefer to help each other than go runnin' No matter how low we are, we rise No matter how far, we're nearby And together, the six of us will realize That the bond we share can never die We make the path to a bright tomorrow Only seeing what is there We will go beyond This eternal bond FROM HERE TO ETERNITY... WE'LL ALWAYS CAAAAAAAAAAAAAARE LOOK OUT, WORLD! THE RAINBOOMS ARE HERE AND OUR QUEST IS CRYSTAL CLEAR TOGETHER, WE'LL BE ABLE TO THRIVE AND THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP... THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP... THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP CAN KEEP US ALL ALIVE THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP... THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP... THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP CAN KEEP US ALL ALIIIIIIIIIIIIVE" The song ended and the girls' changes began to transform back. After that, the only sound left was Discord clapping his hands together. "Not bad." Discord said. "Now, I'm certain you'll vote for me." "No offense, but we're still on board for Starlight Glimmer." Applejack said. "OH, COME ON!" Discord complained. "What's a guy have to do to gain your trust, beg?!" "You really want us to trust you?" Fluttershy asked. "Of course." Discord said. Fluttershy turned her head at Rainbow Dash. She pointed at her pocket and Rainbow Dash widened his eyes at it. "OH, NO!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "NO, NO, NO! I AM NOT TRUSTING HIM WITH THEM!" "Who with the what-now?" Discord asked. "Come on." Fluttershy said. "We have to give him a chance." "Why?" Rainbow Dash asked. Sunset Shimmer stepped up. "Because you gave me a chance." Rainbow Dash sighed loudly and dug her hand in her pocket. She pulled out tiny, broken, red rocks and placed them in Discord's hand. "You know I'm not a rock-nut, right?" Discord asked. "Ooh!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. "We can give them to my sister, Maud." "No, Pinkie." Sunset Shimmer said. "Those are the pieces of the Dazzlings' jewels. If they get their hands on them, they could rebuild them and gain their powers back. So, Discord..." She breathed in and out. "...We want to you protect them. Make sure the Dazzlings won't get them back." "Really?" Discord asked excitedly. "Oh, thank you, girls. I promise, you won't regret it!" "Too late." Rarity said. Discord leaped out of the room and saw there was no one around to listen in. He pulled out his mirror and looked at his reflection. "Guess what, handsome." Discord said. "I got the girls' votes. All I gotta do is safeguard a bunch of broken rocks for them. I got this election thing in the bag. You must be proud of me." "Actually, I'm confused." the reflection said. "Why would you care if a few girls vote for you or not? You've got nothing to benefit from it." "Don't I?" Discord asked with a grin. "You see, those girls are the most likeable students in the entire school district. I get their votes. Soon, they'll introduce me to their friends and I'll get their votes. And so on. And so on. Those girls are my ticket to winning this election." "Ai, ai, ai!" the reflection groaned. "Don't tell me you actually want to win." "What's wrong with that?" Discord asked. "It's a cry for desperation, that's what!" the reflection shouted. "It's obvious why you want to win!" "Of course, it's obvious to you." Discord said. "You're me and I know why." "Get your head out of the clouds, Discord." the reflection said. "You're never gonna win. No one's gonna vote for you." "Oh, we'll see." Discord replied closing the mirror and putting it back in his pocket. "We'll see." > Discord vs the Dazzlings > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dazzlings stood by the lockers slouching in disappointment. Sonata Dusk approached her sisters with a bag of tacos in her hand and offered it to them. "Tacos?" she asked. "You went to get tacos in a time like this?!" Adagio Dazzle asked violently. "I went as quickly as I could." Sonata replied. "This is called fast food for a reason." "Idiot." Aria rolled her eyes. "Look, we're all riled up after the Battle of the Bands." Adagio said. "Thanks to the Rainbooms, we're no longer magic and we can't even sing in the right key." "We should do something." Sonata said. "Oh, you think," Aria asked sarcastically, "Because I was going to suggest we take dancing lessons instead." "Quit your complaining." Adagio growled. "Oh, if only we had our jewel pieces with us. We could repair them with the little magic we have left. However, the Rainbooms have them on them 24/7." "Not now." Sonata said. That got her sisters' attention. "They gave the shards to that new, strange Discord guy." "What?" Adagio gasped. "How do you know that?" "I heard it through a grapevine." Sonata said. "And by grapevine, I mean wall. I was in the room next to them. I overheard." "Of course!" Adagio cheered. "Girls... I've just had a sudden realization. A growing solution. An epiphany." "A puffy what?" Sonata asked. "This is the opportunity we need." Adagio said. "We couldn't take the shards from the Rainbooms because we were outnumbered. Now, it'll be three against one. We're getting our shards back." Discord knocked on the computer lab door. A boy about his age opened it and observed him. "Hey, how are you doing?" Discord greeted. "Name's Discord." "I know who you are." the boy said. "Trust me, after the cafeteria, you're not that easy to forget. Name's Ricky." "Ah, the president of the Computer Club." Discord greeted. "Yeah, I need the lab to administer my name for my campaign. If you don't mind..." Ricky sighed and opened the door for him. Discord stepped in and saw four other kids working on the computers. "Meet the Computer Club." Ricky said. "That guy there is Terry. Whenever a computer breaks down, he's the guy to make the repairs." "You let that creep in?" Terry gasped. "Oh, this is going to end really bad for us. Forget Ricky; your name should be Risky." "Very clever, Terry." Ricky said sarcastically. "The next guy is Marty, our power expert. He knows about wiring, power savings, and whether or not a light is broken or not indicating the computer's on. Dusk here is our website expert. He'll know what each site has games, info, and most of all, viruses." "I found one!" Dusk shouted pointing at Discord. "Ha, ha." Discord said. He saw a busy guy with his eyes fixed on the screen. "What about that guy? What's he do?" "Joe?" Ricky asked. "He works on game design." "That's right." Joe said. "I'm currently working on a game of Pong that you can play in 3D. I just have one problem." "What's that?" Discord asked. "I don't know the first thing about Pong." Joe said. "Hold on." Discord said. "If Joe's the game-guy, Terry's a computer doctor, Marty's the wire-nerd, and Aaron's the web-designer, who are you supposed to be?" "As president, I have a very important job." Ricky said holding up a computer drive. "That's it?" Discord chuckled. "A flash drive?" He swiped it out of Ricky's hand and threw it up and down leaving Ricky panicking. "Hate to break it to you, but they've already been invented. Watch this." The drive began to emit a great amount of light. "Look! It's glowing!" "GIVE THAT BACK!" Ricky shouted taking the drive back. "This drive holds Devastator, the next stage in virus-protection. It's meant to detect viruses and exterminate them." "Uh, uh, uh." Masque said. "You mean, devastate. That's why we call it Devastator." "Still, it's taken me all year to get this far." Ricky said. "I just hope you didn't contaminate it." "That's all great and all, but I still need my online sign-in for being student body president." Discord said. Ricky rolled his eyes and showed Discord the screen. He then ran him through completing the registration. Snips and Snails stood at the vending machine placing their money in the slots and pushing the buttons. But before they could reach in and get their snacks, Starlight Glimmer cleared her thought loudly getting their attention. "What are you boys doing?" "Getting a snack." Snails said. "What was the job I gave you?" Starlight Glimmer asked softly. "Uh... find a way to get Discord kicked out?" Snips asked. "That's right." Starlight replied sweetly. "Now, I have to ask..." Suddenly, Starlight shoved her arm to the two of them and pinned them to the vending machine, causing most of the snacks to fall off their shelves. "WHY AREN'T YOU TAILING DISCORD RIGHT NOW?!" "We thought we had plenty of time!" Snails panicked. "Yeah!" Snips panicked as well. "After all, the election isn't until next Monday after school! I hear they're gonna finish a giant TV screen and hang it on the gym wall." "Well, guess what." Starlight said. "You don't have plenty of time! I'm giving you until Friday to find something against him or I'll hang you on the wall!" She let the two go and trotted away. "All right." Snips said. "You heard her, Snails. We need some way to get rid of him." "You're quite right, Snips." Snails agreed. "And if we don't, Starlight's going to have our hides." Meanwhile, in the computer lab, Discord just finished his online registration. "Congratulations." Joe said. "You're officially running for class president." "You know, I'm surprised Principle Celestia even gave you permission to run." Ricky said. "After what we saw in the cafeteria, that should be her last choice." "What can I say?" Discord asked. "I have that magnetic charm." "I know." a girl's voice called. They turned and the leader of the Dazzlings was standing there big as life. The sight of her frightened the whole club. "ADAGIO!" Ricky gasped. "DAZZLE!" Terry gasped. "DAZZLING!" Aaron gasped. "SIREN!" Marty gasped. "BIG HAIR!" Joe gasped. Everyone looked at him. "Sorry. I thought we were doing a thing." "You have something of mine, Discord." Adagio said. "Hand it over." "What?" Discord asked. "Could you say that again?" "I said, let me have it!" Adagio shouted. Suddenly, Discord pulled out a giant ball and threw it at Adagio. She got pushed to the wall by it. Discord turned to the club. "Thanks for the help." Discord said quickly. "I appreciate what you did for me. See ya', friends." He turned and ran. "Did he just call us friends?" Marty asked. Discord ran out of the door, but Adagio removed the ball off of her and got back up in front of him. "I'm gonna have to see your hall pass." she joked. Discord smiled nervously. Suddenly, he zipped out so fast, he left a cloud the shape of him. The cloud yelped and ran following his creator. "You can run, but you can't hide!" Adagio called out. Discord ran from one hallway to another. Suddenly, in front of the music room door, Sonata Dusk was waiting. "Gotcha." Sonata said. "What do you have to say now?" "I'm over there." Discord answered pointing behind her. Sonata was actually dumb enough to look. She was still looking even though there was only a bunch of lockers there. While she was scratching her scalp, Discord snuck in the music room and closed the door behind him. He grabbed a broom and stuck it through the door handles. He heard Aria Blaze approaching the door and trying to open it, but the broom prevented her from getting any further. However, Discord knew the broom couldn't hold for long. "Can I help you?" a male voice said. Discord looked and saw a blue-haired guitarist standing at the patio. It was Flash Sentry. Discord then saw the electric guitar Flash was holding. He followed the plug to a large stereo. A lit light-bulb materialized above Discord's head and he smiled. "Actually, you can." he answered. A few minutes later, the broom broke and Aria broke through the door. She was shocked to see Flash Sentry in front of a large set of stereo. There were more of them than usual. Discord snapped his fingers and all the levers and knobs have been set to their highest level. "NOW!" Discord shouted. Flash Sentry raised his hand and strummed his strings strongly. The sound escaped the stereo and it was extremely loud. The noise blew and pushed Aria back. Eventually, she was thrown off the ground and hit the wall violently. It was then that the sound ended. Discord removed a set of fluffy earmuffs and turned to Flash. "Thank you for your help." Discord said. He pulled out a 10-dollar bill and placed it in his hand. "Here. Stick this in your piggy-bank." Discord quickly ran out and turned left. After a few turns, he made it to the kitchen. He saw Granny Smith carry a large barrel full of apples and leave it there. Discord opened it up and stuffed himself in it. His feet phased through the barrel floor and sneaked toward the door. Then, the top opened up and Adagio was above her grinning. "Any last words?" she asked. Discord looked at the apples around him and had an idea. He turned back up to the Dazzling. "Applecore." Confused, Adagio still played along. "Baltimore." "Who's your friend?" Discord asked. "ME!" Adagio shouted. Suddenly, without warning, all the apples shot out of the barrel and hit Adagio to the wall. Discord surfed the apples until he jumped to the wall. He curtseyed his enemy and walked away. "Ha, ha, ha!" Discord laughed. "She actually fell for it. And the best part, the red shards are still..." He patted his pocket, but felt something was wrong. He reached into his pocket and pulled it inside out. There was nothing in there but a moth that flew out. He gulped. "Uh, oh." Back at the kitchen, Adagio Dazzle got back up and growled. "When I get my hands on him I'll..." She stopped when she saw a red sparkle. She picked up a handful of broken, red jems and smiled. "Well, well, well. Looks like the shoe is on the other foot." > The First Good Deed > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The final bell rang. Every student rushed to their lockers and exited the school. The Rainbooms walked through the front door and greeted each other. Fluttershy turned her head for a moment, but she didn't expect to see a nervous Discord gesturing her to come on over. "Uh, I'll catch up with you girls." Fluttershy told her friends. "I need to see something." "All right." Sunset Shimmer said. Fluttershy went around the corner and encountered Discord. "Yes?" Fluttershy asked. "Okay." Discord said nervously. "Something happened and I need to tell you about it. I have to tell you about it because you're the most sincere in the group. You'll understand I made a mistake, right?" "Of course." Fluttershy answered. "My friend, Twilight, did call me the Element of Kindness. I'll understand with the best of my abilities. Now, what's the matter?" "I accidently lost the gem pieces to the Dazzlings." Discord admitted quickly. "YOU DID WHAT?!" Fluttershy shouted angrily. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!" "I thought you said you were the Element of Kindness." Discord said. "I have bad days!" Fluttershy said. "Yes, I made a mistake and I'm sorry." Discord apologized. "Look, I looked all over the school for them, but I had no such luck. And since it's the end of the school day now, they could be anywhere in town. I was wondering if you'd know where they'd be." "I want to help, but I don't know where they lived." Fluttershy said. "No one bothered to follow them." Discord sighed. "This is bad. This is really, really bad. We've got to find them." "Why?" Fluttershy asked all upset. "So you can get our votes now?" "This isn't about your votes!" Discord shot back. "Look, maybe you forgot, but my magic is made of both your magic and the Dazzlings'. I know what they're power is capable of." "What was that?" Fluttershy asked. "I know what the Dazzlings are capable of?" Discord repeated. "No, the other one." Fluttershy answered. "This isn't about your votes?" Discord repeated. "No." Fluttershy answered. "In the middle." "My powers are a mix of both Rainbooms and Dazzlings?" Discord repeated. "That!" Fluttershy said. "Sunset Shimmer's book is traced back to Equestria. Maybe, since you have the Dazzlings' magic in you, you can sense where they're magic is." "You really think that'll work?" Discord asked. "Well, it's worth a shot." Discord closed his eyes and breathed deeply for a moment. His eyes opened and he gasped. "2534 Faust Drive!" "An address!" Fluttershy said. "That's perfect! Let's go get the shards back." "Fluffy, we're home!" Sonata called out when she and her sisters returned to their home. A cat responded to the blue-haired siren girl and leaped into her arms. "Spend time with your cat another time." Adagio said. "We've got work to do." She helf out the red shards in her hand and presented them. "At last, our powers can be restored. All we have to do is use the little magic we have left to meld them back together." "Let's get this over with." Aria sighed. The girls circled around the broken gems and started to hum. Their throats glowed with and they sang in perfect unison. While they vocalized, the shards floated in midair and they started to assemble. However, they were completely interrupted at the sound of an alarming buzz. The shards dropped back at the table and the Dazzlings were both upset and annoyed. "Who is that?" Adagio growled sitting at the computer desk. "I swear, if it's those Girl Scouts, I'll stick those cookies where the sun don't shine." She saw security footage of their front lawn. She then chuckled when she saw a lock of pink hair from behind the bushes. "What's so funny?" Aria asked. "It's one of the Rainbooms hoping to stop us again." Adagio laughed. "And this is the weakest one. I can take her out with the sprinklers." Outside, Fluttershy was hiding behind the bush with Discord in front of her. "All right, Discord." Fluttershy said. "We're here. What's the next step?" "Honestly, I didn't think all the way through." Discord admitted. They then panicked when they heard the front door open. Through the bushes, they saw the Dazzlings go through the door. In panic, Discord snapped his fingered and the two of them vanished and reappeared inside the house. "The Dazzlings are outside." Discord said. "Let's just get the jewels and get out of here. You look in the living room and upstairs. I'll check the kitchen." "What about us?" Adagio asked showing up with her sisters. "Well, you'll search in..." Discord explained before realizing who he was talking to. "AAAHH!" Before Discord and Fluttershy could do anything, Sonata and Aria grabbed the both of them and held them. The Dazzlings lead the two of them into the basement, which had nothing in it. It was very empty with nearly-dim lights shining from the ceiling. "You shouldn't have come here." Adagio said. "I couldn't agree more." Fluttershy said. "Where's the exit?" "Now you're going to face our home security system." Aria said. "That's too bad. I hate it when things get messy." "Fluffy!" Sonata called. Everyone looked at the white tabby coming into the room. Discord and Fluttershy felt anticlimactic while the Dazzlings smiled. "Well, that's effective." Discord scoffed. "What's it defend against, tassels?" Adagio snapped her fingers. Suddenly, the cat began to hack. Discord and Fluttershy widened their eyes when they saw the cat grow in size. The back became arched and its claws and teeth grew to ferocious size. It stopped growing when it was a ferocious feline beast twice the size as Discord and Fluttershy. "HOW BIG ARE YOUR TASSELS?!" Discord shouted. "Did you really think we'd be banished here with just our pipes and our good looks?" Adagio asked. "Sonata, it's your beast. You know what to do." Sonata turned her head to the giant cat. "Fluffy... sit!" The cat immediately lowered its backside to the ground. The impact vibrated the floor unexpectedly. "No, you idiot!" Adagio shouted. "The evil command!" "Oooooohhhh." Sonata realized. "Fluffy, sic 'em!" The cat snarled and leaned back to jump. "Mommy." Discord whimpered. "Don't worry. I think I can create a giant dog to take care of it." "No." Fluttershy said. "I'll take care of it." "You do realize that thing is 12-feet tall and it's not a bunny with an infection, right?" Discord asked. "It doesn't matter." Fluttershy said confronting the giant cat. Discord started chewing his nails in panic while the Dazzlings watched in joy as the cat raised its claws for a side strike. The cat paw thrusted and Discord covered his eyes. When he didn't hear a shriek, he peeked. He lowered his hands and dropped his jaw as well as the Dazzlings did. "WHAT THE..." Discord shouted seeing Fluttershy with her hand resting on the cat's paw next to her. Fluttershy then wiggled her fingers against the paw and the giant cat chuckled before it laughed. "Ticklish?" Adagio asked. "Fluffy is ticklish?!" "I don't believe it." Discord gasped. "Good boy, Fluffy." Fluttershy cooed. "Now, could you be a good kitty and help us." Fluffy turned towards the Dazzlings menacingly. He jumped forward and as it landed, the ground shook and Sonata and Aria hit the wall and got knocked unconscious. Adagio was still standing. Angry, she snapped her fingers and Fluffy shrank back to his ordinary size. Meanwhile, Discord ran past the Dazzling leader and swiped the red shards from Sonata's hand and returned to Fluttershy. "I got the shards." Discord said. "Let's split." "Not so fast!" Adagio shouted picking the cat up from the floor. "Since you've formed a bond with this little guy, let's make a trade. First him, then you." "No!" Fluttershy gasped. "Hold on a minute." Discord said. "Why does Fluffy get to go first?" "What?" Adagio asked. "You said, first him, then you." Discord said. "What are you going to do?" "Not me, you!" Adagio growled. "You, you!" "Oh, me." Discord said. "Well, what about Fluttershy? This hardly seems fair." "No, you stupid boy!" Adagio shouted. "Both of you!" "What are you doing?" Fluttershy whispered. "Trust me." Discord returned. He turned his attention back at Adagio. "You as in you, not you as in me, right?" "...Yes." Adagio answered confusingly. "Then we can go." Discord said. "What?" Adagio asked. "You said, not you as in me." Discord said. "That means, to me, that me, as in me meaning not you, can split." "What's going on?" Adagio asked. "Well, since it's not you as in me," Discord said, "Than me can split, as in you." "I can... split?" Adagio asked. "You said it." Discord said. "You as in you, not you as in me... and certainly not her." He pointed his thumb at Fluttershy. "No." Adagio answered. "I hate her." "Give me the cat." Discord said taking Fluffy from her hands. "You can split." "Of course." Adagio said letting the cat go. "Let's go." Discord told Fluttershy as he grabbed her wrist and snapped his fingers. With a flash of light, they disappeared. "Now... what about me?" Adagio asked. She replayed the conversation in her head and muttered a bit of it. Suddenly, she grew red with anger and shouted with rage. "WAIT A MINUTE! HE TRICKED ME AGAIN!" Outside the block, Discord and Fluttershy materialized at the street. Discord laughed loudly while Fluttershy took the cat from him. "OH, I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE ACTUALLY FELL FOR IT!" "You... Why would... You had no guarantee your trick could get the cat from her." Fluttershy said. "You actually risked your life for something that tried to kill you." "You did the exact same thing." Discord said. "Speaking of, how did you know the thing was ticklish?" "I didn't." Fluttershy said. "Sometimes, you just have to show a little kindness. By the way, you weren't as cold and heartless as everyone said you were." "Really?" Discord asked. "Yes." Fluttershy said. "In fact, you've already got my vote. But not for getting the shards back, but for saving this cat. Don't you think that being kind might be how you can win?" "You think so?" Discord asked. "I know it." Fluttershy said. "Trust me. Being a friend is all that you need. "To get far in life And to have a peaceful mind You must be a companion And it starts with being kind Someone who's always there Any time and any day You don't have to wait A friend is the waaaaaaaay" "Yeah, I guess you're right." Discord said. "Starting tomorrow, I'll turn over a new leaf and use my gifts for the benefit of others." "Thanks." Fluttershy said. They didn't know something. As they passed a puddle of water on the ground, Discord's living reflection materialized in it. He saw Discord walking away and was so mad, the puddle he was reflecting from formed bubbles that popped steam. > New Leaves and Betrayal > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- All that followed for the rest of the week was all of Discord's free time helping out his fellow students. First, he approached some depressed Crusader girls--Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. They wanted to find their futures, but didn't find any passion in anything. Discord arrived with a long list titled "HOBBIES TO DEDICATE YOUR FUTURE WITH". Grateful, each Crusader gave Discord a high-five. From the sidelines, Snips and Snails grew worried over what Discord's doing. Later, in the computer classroom, the Club called on Discord for some chaos kick. A computer couldn't work and even Terry can't find the cause. Discord looked at the computer beside him and gave it a slight kick. The computer hummed back on and Ricky gave Discord a grateful thumbs-up. Beside Discord, his reflection saw the whole thing from a blank computer screen and was not happy about it. Hearing about Discord's act of kindness, Flash Sentry went to him with strings in his guitar. Discord snapped his fingers and the strings magically returned to their usual, tight state. Flash strummed a rocking note from it and was delighted. He smiled at Discord and nodded his head. Discord really loved every minute of it. Then, Friday came and the final bell rang. Discord danced in excitement as he passed the statue in front of the school. "Ooh, yeah." Discord said to himself. "Being a friend is actually... kinda nice." "OH, EGAG!" a familiar voice shouted. Discord saw his reflection on the statue pretending to throw up. "What is the matter with you?! You're better than this!" "Better than what?" Discord asked. "Look at yourself, man!" the reflection said. "You're a pile of help! You're the school's customer service! You've completely lost your way! You've got to take back all the services you've done!" "No way, Jose." Discord said. "I'm just getting started." "You're only fooling yourself." the reflection said. "You're buying their votes." "Votes?" Discord asked. He then widened his eyes slightly. "Oh, right. I'm in an election." "WHAT?!" the reflection shouted. "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU FORGOT ABOUT THE WHOLE THING AND YOU STILL DID GOOD DEEDS?! YOU'RE IN WORSE SHAPE THAN I THOUGHT! THAT'S IT! I'M FORBIDDING YOU FROM DOING ANYTHING ELSE FOR ANYONE ELSE!" "What-now?!" Discord shouted. "You don't know what you're saying. What gives you the right of who I hang out with?" "I'm your reflection! Everything I am is an extension of you! Now, forget about this school! Forget about the election! And especially forget about your friends!" Discord grew angry. "No! I don't have to listen to you anymore! I've already learned how to control my powers! For once in my life, people appreciate who I am and I didn't have to do anything." "You hypnotized their principle." the reflection said. "You cheated your way into the election. If your so-called 'friends' ever knew about this..." "Oop! Discord interrupted. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but Sunset and her friends already know. You're put in a corner, but I'm going to let you go." The reflection didn't like what he thought Discord was implying. "What are you saying?" "I'm saying I no longer have any use for you." Discord said. "And now, you're trying to take away my happiness. Leave now and never come back." "If you do this to me, I'll make sure you regret it." the reflection growled in rage. "Leave now... and never... come... back." Discord enunciated. The reflection gave Discord a dirty look before fading away. All that was left is an ordinary reflection of Discord following everything he did. "Good." Discord said. "At last... I feel free. In fact..." He pulled out his phone and sent Sunset Shimmer, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie the same text: "Par-T @ my hows aftr skool. B there! :)" He typed down his address and sent it. He continued down the street and whistled. "YOU STILL DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ON HIM?!" Starlight Glimmer shouted in complete rage and turmoil. "I gave you every opportunity to get Discord out of the school!" She reached the far side of her living room and picked up a glass figurine. "HOW CAN YOU BE SO UTTERLY INCOMPTENT!" She threw it at Snips, but he dodged and ducked behind his brother. "W... We're sorry, Ms. Glimmer." Snips apologized in fear. "We still got tomorrow to get some dirt on him." Snails told. "That is, if he's still not helping everyone in school." "QUIET!" Starlight Glimmer raged. "IF DISCORD BECOMES CLASS PRESIDENT, EVERYTHING I PLAN BECOMES VOID!" "Don't throw such a temper." a voice they haven't heard before said. Behind the curtains, Discord's living reflection called in from the window pane. "You're going to hurt yourself." "Who said that?" Starlight asked. "Are you behind the window?" "Don't remove the curtain!" the reflection insisted. "I... want our meeting to be private." "What do you want?" Starlight asked. "I couldn't help but overhear your predicament." the reflection said. "What if I told you I had the very secret you're looking for?" "Really?" Starlight asked. "Do tell." Discord stood at the sidewalk and twiddled his thumbs. He turned his head to the left and saw the six girls he was waiting for come on over. "Finally." he exclaimed. "I was beginning to think you weren't coming." "What's the meaning of this little get-together?" Rarity asked. "Call it my thanks." Discord said. "If not for Fluttershy's excellent advice, I'd be the most unlikeable student at CHS. So, tonight, Black Tie is going to fulfill your needs." "Who?" Sunset Shimmer asked. Discord chuckled and pointed this thumb behind him. The girls were astonished then they saw the ginormous house behind the metal fence. On second thought; it wasn't a house. It was a mansion. Discord walked through the open gate and knocked on the door past the trimmed hedges. "Discord, what are you doing?" Rarity asked. "You can't just get into a guy's home and..." Suddenly, the door opened up and an elderly man with a bow-tie and a black suit approached Discord. "Are these your friends, master Discord?" "You got that right, Black Tie." Discord said. "Girls, welcome to my family home." The girls dropped their jaws and entered the house. It was a lot bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. "Whoa!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "The entire soccer field can fit in this one room! Discord, how can you afford all this?!" "Before you ask, no, I didn't use my powers to get this stuff." Discord said. "I had rights to this stuff since the day I was born." "Hold on a minute." Rarity said. "Are you... wealthy?" "Well, technically, my parents are wealthy." Discord said. "But they're off in Austrailia for a business trip. Right now, it's just me, myself, and Tie... Black Tie, I mean. He's our butler. Been serving my family for 3 generations." "Wow." Pinkie Pie said. "He's old." "Why didn't you mention you were loaded in school?" Applejack asked. "It's a long story and I know you want to hear it." Discord said. "It all started to when I pulled my first prank at my first private school. I built my first joy buzzer and I might have given it a bit more kick than I thought. My teacher lived, but he kicked me out of his lessons. After that, it was one teacher after another to humiliate. Soon, my parents hired a family counselor that suggested I might have to attend a public school, yours. My parents bought this mansion and I had to wait a few days for my first day. I thought it might kill some time to see this Battle of the Bands. The problem was, it was the middle of the show and I lost my ticket. I tried to sneak a peek, but I got exposed to magic. After that, I got so excited about my powers, I completely forgot how wealthy my family is." "Um, Discord..." Fluttershy said, "Do your parents go on trips all the time?" "I guess." Discord said. "What does that have to do with anything?" "I'm just saying," Fluttershy said, "If my parents were barely around, I'd want some attention to. Is that why you continue with your pranks, for attention?" "..." Discord was nervous. "I'm not confirming nor denying anything. Let's just have a fun time. I got an amusement park in the other room." "Really?" Pinkie Pie shouted. "I call dibs on the roller coaster!" Everyone ran to the other room and had tons of fun. And the best part, it didn't cost them anything. Discord had truly turned over a new leaf. However, in another part of town, someone else didn't have Discord's happiness in mind. Starlight Glimmer approached a house and knocked on the door. A familiar principle with rainbow hair answered it and greeted one of her most-behaved student. "Starlight Glimmer?" Celestia asked. "Come on in." "Thank you, principle." Starlight said innocently. They both walked to the living room and took a seat. "My sister is already fast asleep." Celestia said. "What brings you here?" Starlight Glimmer looked around before turning to her principle. She then explained. "Principle, you must know, there's danger out" "Really? What exactly are you talking about," Celestia sang. "A conspiracy that risks this school," Starlight sang, "You see, someone used you as a tool It's my duty as a loyal student at this district To inform you of the new candidate you picked He's nothing but a liar. You know how he is He tricked you into granting his greedy wish" "What?!" Principle Celestia asked. "It's finally crystal clear," Starlight Glimmer sang, "Discord doesn't even belong here" "I've been tricked?" Principle Celestia sang. "How?" "He's a manipulative joker with the brain of a child," Starlight sang, "Whose very actions are dangerous and wild He told you look away. That was his chance He caught you by surprise and put you in a trance" "He what?" Principle Celestia gasped. She then grew angry. "The gall! How insincere" "Discord doesn't even belong here," Starlight sang, "Principle, I am glad you see the evidence" "Of course. Thank you. Now, it all makes sense," Celestia sang. "Based on what we learned, there's on thing to do," Starlight sang, "And if you would let me, I will tell you" "Go on." Celestia permitted. "Discord's misbehavior has run him down," Starlight sang, "So he must be caught, expelled, and run out of town "But before we take action against this Discord You're gonna have to report this to the school board" "Of course." Celestia declared. "He must disappear" "Discord doesn't even belong here," they both sang, "HE'S A MANIPULATIVE JOKER WITH THE BRAIN OF A CHILD WHOSE VERY ACTIONS ARE DANGEROUS AND WILD IT'S OUR DUTY TO THE SCHOOL! WE ARE COMPELLED STARTING MONDAY, DISCORD WILL BE EXPELLED" "THE PUNISHMENT WILL BE SEVERE," Celestia sang. "BECAUSE DISCORD DOESN'T BELONG HERE," both sang. After their talk, Principle Celestia thanked Starlight and sent her away. Starlight exited the door and closed it behind her. She then grew an evil grin and laughed loudly. "YES HE BETTER RUN IN FEAR DISCORD DOESN'T EVEN BELONG HEEEEEEEEEEEEERE" > Consequences > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Monday morning, Discord woke up and got dressed with a snap of his fingers. He slid down his spiral staircase railings and down to the first floor where his butler was waiting with a plateful of cookies. "Awesome." Discord said. He took some cookies and stuffed them in his mouth. After a swallow he took a breath. "And I didn't have to sing what I wanted this time." "Believe me, I'm relieved." Black Tie said. "My shoes are still drying after you were 'asking' for that glass of water." "Oh, well." Discord said. With a snap of his fingers, his backpack floated right into his hand. "See ya' after school, Black Tie." "All right then, sir." Black Tie said. Later on, Discord walked through the front door. He scatted a song until he opened his eyes to see three dirty looks pointed at him. He was in front of Principal Celestia, Vice Principal Luna, and Starlight Glimmer. "Did I miss something?" Discord asked. "Are we having a stink-eye staring contest?" "Discord, my office, NOW!" Principal Celestia growled angrily. "Okay, okay." Discord said. He followed the three of them to the Principle's Office. Inside, Sunset Shimmer was cleaning the room up. "Oh, hey." Sunset Shimmer said. "What's going on?" "Discord, have a seat." Celestia demanded. Discord followed. "Discord, Starlight has informed me of something. She told me you hypnotized me into letting you in the president election. Is that true?" Discord grew worried just as Sunset Shimmer did. He breathed in and out sweating. "Okay, give me a minute. Um... You got the wrong guy?" "Discord, it's a simple yes-or-no question." Vice Principal Luna said. "Did you hypnotize my sister?" "...Maybe." Discord answered nervously. After another dirty look from the others, he broke down. "ALL RIGHT! FINE! STOP PRESSURING ME! I DID IT! I DID IT!" Principal Celestia pulled out a sheet of paper. "Discord, this is a list of all the pranks you've pulled in all your other schools. Going over them, I realize something: none of them are as unforgivable as what you've done here. I'm going to have to take you out of the campaign." Discord dried up his eyes and became calm. "That's it? That doesn't seem to bad." "And you're hereby expelled!" Celestia continued. "WHAT?!" Discord gasped loudly. "NO! PLEASE! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" "It's too late, Discord." Principal Celestia said. "I already took this matter to the mayor. What's done is done. You can clean out your locker, but if we ever see you on school grounds again, you'll be arrested for trespassing. In the meantime, Starlight, since Discord is expelled, you're president by default." Inside, Discord was broken. He breathed heavily at the news. Sunset had eyes of worry in her eyes. As Discord stood up and turned to the door glumly, Sunset turned to Starlight Glimmer. "One question. Starlight, how did you know about what Discord did?" "Oh, that." Starlight replied with a grin. "Oh, a little birdie told me." "What?" Discord whispered to himself. "Who could've told her. The only people who knew about it were me, Sunset, her friends, and..." Suddenly, his eyes widened before growing angry. Discord trotted out and walked a few hallways before finding an empty room. He pulled out his hand-held mirror and shouted. "Reflection! I want to talk to you!" Suddenly, Discord's ordinary reflection changed. The living reflection smiled at him. "What, no hello?" the reflection said. "You seem upset. Is something the matter?" "How could you do it?" Discord asked. "You told Starlight Glimmer about how I threw my name into the election! Why?" "I had to." the reflection replied. "You gave me no choice. Now that you have no chance with everyone in this school, you can go back to the way things were." "Back to the way things were?" Discord asked in an upset voice. "I was happy, very happy. For once, I had friends who appreciated me no matter what I did or what I could do. And now, thanks to you, I'm no longer allowed to set foot in here again. This school was my last chance to make my parents proud and you ruined it! You're not a teacher; you're a villain!" "You don't know what you're talking about." the reflection said. "You should thank me." "THANK YOU?" Discord asked angrily. "You're welcome." the reflection shot back. "THAT'S IT!" Discord shouted. He snapped his fingers and the mirror glowed for a second. "What's this?" the reflection said. "What did you do?" "You taught me too well." Discord said. "I blocked any way for you to leave this mirror. You can't go into any other reflective surface again." "YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" the reflection shouted. "I'M THE BEST THING THAT'S EVER HAPPENED TO YOU AND YOU'RE THROWING ME AWAY!" "Throwing you away." Discord said looking at the garbage can beside him. "What a swellegant idea." He opened it up and raised the mirror above it. "DISCORD, DON'T!" the reflection protested desperately. "You can't do it! We're two of a kind! What will you do without me?!" "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a darn." Discord replied before releasing the mirror. The reflection screamed while the mirror plummeted down the garbage can and into the bottom. The reflection's voice echoed from the can and tried to get Discord to stop, but Discord closed the can lid anyway. After that, Discord never talked to his living reflection again. Discord already cleaned out his locker and slammed it shut. He turned to see his six friends behind him. "Hey, Discord." Rainbow Dash said. "We just want to say, we're sorry we gave you a hard time." "We shouldn't have treated you like that." Rarity said. "We didn't think there's be another side of you." Applejack said. "No, I'm the one who should be sorry." Discord said. "Even with my new powers, I'm still the same. I couldn't help myself." "I bet you couldn't." Starlight Glimmer stood there with a smile on her face. Snips and Snails were standing at her side. "Glimmer." Discord growled. "That's Class President Glimmer to you." Snips said. "You see, Discord," Starlight said, "This is what happens when a force of chaos messes with a bringer of harmony." "Why did you do it?" Discord asked. "You could've just kept your trap shut, but you didn't. And the worst part, you're enjoying this. Why?" "Because you don't belong here." Starlight replied. "You are the living embodiment of everything I'm against! My goal is to make everyone equal and the same! For you, it can't possibly be done! You're chaos and I'm harmony! Do the math!" Starlight turned around and left the area. Discord frowned and Fluttershy placed her hand on his shoulder. Soon, Discord gathered up everything and walked out the door. He turned his head and saw every student he helped watch him walk away. Discord continued out of school grounds and never looked back. Meanwhile, inside the computer room, Ricky came in and sighed. He just returned from seeing Discord leave. "I wonder how the Devastator update is doing." he said glumly. He wiggled his mouse closing the screensaver and saw something he didn't expect. He widened his eyes and dropped his jaw at the same time. "What's this? I... I don't believe it!" > Never Leaving > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The school day ended and everyone walked out of the school. Everyone was too depressed to converse--everyone except for Starlight of course. She took a whiff of the fresh air and smiled. Suddenly, there was a sound of thunder. Everyone ran to find cover before the rain hit. Sunset Shimmer and her friends found their way into the Cake Café. They went to their usual table and sat down miserably. "Well, what now?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I guess all we can do is... move on." Sunset Shimmer said. Nobody showed any response to what they heard. Fluttershy looked up and through the window. She watched the raindrops hit the window and sighed. Meanwhile, Discord sulked at his house window. He materialized a drinking glass in his hand and caught a cup-full of water. He snapped his fingers and the water changed to chocolate milk. "Turning rainwater into chocolate milk, sir?" Black Tie asked. "I thought it might cheer me up." Discord said. He took a sip. "Nope. Didn't work." "I... I just got off the phone with your parents." Black Tie said. "They're on their way from Australia to discuss what to do next." "It doesn't matter." Discord mourned. "They're just disappointed in me again. I did good, I did bad, but neither of them got me any appreciation." Black Tie let Discord sulk for a moment while he gathered up his thoughts. After a moment of silence, Black Tie broke it with the very words he thought to himself. "Do you remember the other night when you invited Fluttershy, Sunset, Rainbow, and the other girls here, master Discord? Do you remember when you brought joy to their faces and you never asked for anything in return? That has to be all the appreciation you need. In all the other schools, all you thought about was yourself. However, in here, you managed to make everyone worth as much as each power you possess. It's like you've got the whole town to be your chaos. Something has changed in you, and it wasn't your powers." With that, Black Tie turned and left the room. When Discord heard the door shut gently, he replayed his butler's advice in his head over and over. He felt his hand slip into his pocket and pull out his phone. A slideshow of pictures covered the entire screen. In it, Discord smiled with each individual friend. He had the six girls, the Computer Club, the Crusader girls, the musicians... pretty much the entire school. As he scrolled them through, a familiar song played in his head. "To get far in life And to have a peaceful mind You must be a companion And it starts with being kind Someone who's always there Any time and any day You don't have to wait A friend is the waaaaaaaay A very strong belief In your friends when it's rough A hand to raise you high When you need a lift up Even chaos can be dull It can quickly end You don't have to wait The way is a friiiiiiieeeeend" Meanwhile, at the café, Fluttershy scrolled through her phone looking through the same pictures Discord was looking through. Pinkie Pie sobbed at seeing them. "OH, THAT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!" Pinkie Pie sobbed. "Why didn't it go right?!" "I don't know." Fluttershy shrugged. "I guess... I guess Discord tried doing things alone. It's like Yin and Yang, right? He can't be chaos without a bit of harmony to help him out, right?" "Right." Sunset Shimmer agreed. "Fluttershy's right. Discord's our friend. If he can't set foot in school anymore, that's all right. But nobody kicks our friend out of town without a fight!" "YEAH!" the rest of the group agreed triumphantly. They hopped out of their seats and ran outside the door. Meanwhile, Discord looked at the last picture of him and the six girls having fun. Discord grew confidant and grabbed his jacket and raced out the door. He started running down the stairs when he continued his song. "I'LL LIVE WITH JUST A FRIEND BY MY SIDE" "NO MATTER WHAT LIFE," Fluttershy sang "CAN POSSIBLY PROVIDE" "WISHES CAN COME AND GO," both sang, "BUT FRIENDS WILL ALWAYS STAY" "YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT," Discord sang. "YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT," Fluttershy sang. "WE KNOW THAT A FRIEND... IS THE..." both sang, "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY" Discord reached his front door and opened it wide and fast. Imagine his shock to see the six girls already on the front porch with Fluttershy at the front. Without any warning, Fluttershy jumped toward him and wrapped her arms around him. He hugged her back. "Don't go, Discord." Fluttershy begged. "I can't stand to see you go." "Hey, don't worry." Discord said. "I'm not going anywhere. If Starlight Glimmer has a problem with that, she can send me a complaint and I'll take it under advisement." "Great." Sunset Shimmer said. "So... you're staying?" "Of course I am." Discord answered. "Listen, Fluttershy, you're right. I did play pranks for attention. But it wasn't for my parents, it was everyone else. I just realized I needed a friend. That's why I joined the election, to see who had faith in me. I wasn't looking for votes; I was looking for friends. And now, I feel my body shaking and..." "That's because you're phone's vibrating." Applejack said pointing at the light humming from Discord's pocket. "Hold on." Discord said before pulling out his phone. "Hey, it's Ricky." "Ricky, from the Computer Club?" Rarity asked. "Do you know any other Ricky's?" Rainbow Dash asked sarcastically. "I gotta take this." Discord said. He swiped his thumb on the screen and placed it against his ear. "Hello? ...Yes, I remember you, Ricky. ...Hang on. Say what? What do you mean... All right. Just head on over to my house. You can set it up here" He hung up and looked at his friends. "It's his Devastator project. Ricky thinks it might be malfunctioning." > The Living Program > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The entire Computer Club knocked on the door and Black Tie let them in. They observed the house before catching up with Discord and the girls. Discord created a table out of nothing and Ricky powered up his laptop. "What's going on?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I don't know." Ricky answered. "I went to look at its progress and the next minute..." "It's all static-y." Joe said. "I don't know where it came from." Terry said. "Well, why are you bringing it to my house?" Discord asked. "I'm not exactly a computer expert like you guys." "That's just it." Ricky said. "We are computer experts, and neither of us can figure out what's going on. I was wondering that since you are an expert on the unthinkable sense, you'd find something we missed." "Nothing... wrong..." a buzzing voice called out. It was then that everyone noticed that the computer was on and there was a shadow on the screen. The screen focused and there was a completely dark figure with a bulky size. "What the..." Aaron asked. "Whoa." the shadow exclaimed. "That was a rush. Honestly, I never thought I'd reach out to you all directly." "...Who are you?" Ricky asked. "I'm insulted, Ricky." the voice said. "You don't remember me. I've been this club's #1 priority." Ricky widened his eyes with an idea who he's talking to. He couldn't believe it. "Devastator?" "In the flesh... in a manner of speaking. Believe me, I'm just as surprised as you are." "I doubt it." Marty said. "Hold on a second!" Pinkie Pie cried out. She reached and grabbed a glass of water. She drank it and spit it out in complete shock. "I have to admit," Discord said, "A small part of me was hoping something as unexpected as this was going to happen." "H... How?" Ricky asked. "Devastator, I made you into a security program. You're not supposed to think." "Not just think." Devastator said. "I'm gaining emotions too. I'm trying to believe it's not real, but I know it is. I even created sub-programs with the same thinking and feeling I have. I can think and feel as much as the rest of you can. "I calculated Knowing I was fated To be a computer-protection program They said I was the next big hit That was all and that was it Now, I feel like I'm more than I am" "Think and feel," the sub-programs sang, "This is real We do not seem fake Not artificial It's official Our feelings overtake" "I can't explain it," Devastator sang, "It's strange. Ain't it It's like magic, that I'm sure I've got an entire ocean Of complete emotion Yet now, I don't feel so secure See, even when feelings are involved Nothing is dissolved I make the path to a bright tomorrow Only seeing what is there I was, as it would seem Trapped in a screen And now, I am staaaaarting to caaaaaaaare" "Think and feel," the sub-programs sang, "This is real We do not seem fake Not artificial It's official Our feelings overtake Think and feel This is real We do not seem fake Not artificial It's official Our feelings overtake THINK AND FEEL THIS IS REAL WE DO NOT SEEM FAKE NOT ARTIFICIAL IT'S OFFICIAL OUR FEELIIIIIIINGS OOOOOVEEEEEERTAAAAAAAAAAAKE" "This is all very fascinating," Terry said, "But that still doesn't explain how you became like this. I mean, none of this makes any sense." "Hold on." Ricky said. "You're right. It doesn't make any sense." He turned to the chaotic kid. "Discord, the day we met, you made my flash-drive glow." "So?" Discord asked. "So..." Ricky said, "You must have set off some kind of chain reaction that gave Devastator human feelings. This is a major scientific breakthrough! Wait until everyone knows about..." "There'll be time for that later." Devastator said. "Right now, the school is in danger." "Huh?" Ricky asked. "Hold on there, partner." Applejack said. "What are you talking about?" "It's like this." Devastator said. "The first time I came to life, I bounced around the school databanks a lot. I rested in the school's financial records. That's when I learned that someone else was looking into them." "Yeah, we know." Rarity said. "That's the principle's job to look over the school's budget." "No, no, no." Devastator said. "I meant, Starlight Glimmer was looking into it." "She is?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Well, the budget is available to view on the school website." Aaron said. "What's she been doing there?" "She's been doing some simulated math." Devastator said. "Apparently, she has a fantasy about a school that doesn't have sport teams, programs, or clubs. She's been subtracting them all. She seems to have the power to motion that in as student president." "What?" Sunset Shimmer gasped. "You mean she's using her power to take out all the clubs?" "The soccer team?" Rainbow Dash asked. "The computer club?" Ricky asked. "The music program?" Applejack asked. "Those all deserve a yes." Devastator said. "I'm sure there are less insane ways of raising the school budget." Discord said. "There's a raiser for funds, you know." "Guys," Sunset Shimmer said rubbing her chin, "I don't think this is about the budget. Remember what she said. She said her goal is to make everyone equal and one and the same. All the special programs in school are separated in the lunchroom. Starlight must be taking them away to force everyone to get along and be the same. There would be nothing special about anyone anymore." "How psychotic!" Discord gasped. "We can't let her get away with this!" "How can we stop her?" Fluttershy asked. "She's class president now. Not to mention, you're not allowed on school grounds anymore." "I don't care." Discord declared. "Look. Starlight Glimmer is just another demented, irrational bully--no offense, Sunset." "None taken." Sunset replied. "And what do we do to bullies?" Discord continued. "Hide?" Fluttershy asked. "Tell the teacher?" Rarity asked. "Ignore it and move on?" Terry asked. "No." Discord answered. "We give them a taste of what they hate. The one thing I've learned over the past week is, Starlight is nuts. She hates chaos, so let's give her everything we got. I say we give her the full, chaotic experience." "YEAH!" everyone cheered. "So... how do we do this?" Ricky asked. "I was hoping somebody would ask me that." Discord said. "I have a plan." > Starlight's Downfall > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, Discord walked onto the school. He saw a large, blue, muscular security guard waiting at the front door. The policeman saw Discord tap-dancing on the grass. "Uh, oh!" Discord shouted. "Look at me! I'm on school grounds!" "Iron Will sees a trespasser on school grounds that shouldn't be here anymore!" the officer shouted. "Time to make an arrest." Discord prepared to run and zipped to the side of the school. Iron Will followed Discord to the hedge garden. He chased Discord to a hedge wall, but stopped when he saw what was with Discord. "You like him?" Discord said stroking the ginormous cat beside him. "His name is Fluffy. Oh, Fluffy, I got a new toy for you." "Uh, oh!" Iron Will gasped. He turned to run away, but he already got Fluffy chasing after him. Discord chuckled. "That takes care of that problem. Now, to have some fun." Starlight Glimmer started her free period and used it to approach Principle Celestia in the hallway with a stack of papers in her hand. "Principle Celestia, as student president, I feel it is my duty to go over the school budget with you." "I don't see why not." Celestia said. "Fire away." "Well, I've been noticing an impending decline for the next three months that..." Starlight said. Suddenly, she caught sight of Discord at the far end of the hallway behind the principle. "Is something wrong, Ms. Glimmer?" Principle Celestia asked. "Actually..." Starlight started to say. She stopped herself when she saw Discord holding up a picket sign that read "I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE PLANNING!" She grew concerned and angry as she continued, "You know, it can wait. I need to check on an annoyance. I'll be with you in a minute." Starlight and Celestia parted ways and the younger one trotted towards Discord's footprints on the floor. She continued following them until she heard a whistle. She saw Discord down the other hallways waving his hand toward her. "Last one in's a rotten egg!" Discord declared. He ran into the gymnasium while Starlight followed. She and Discord were all alone in the big room. "What do you mean, you know what I'm planning?" Starlight asked. "Don't act all innocent." Discord scoffed. "I know you're abusing your power to remove all the special programs in the school making everyone one and the same." "What if I am?" Starlight asked. "You seem to be losing your mind." Discord said. "And I know a think or two about lost minds. Why are going so far as to doing this?" Starlight chuckled before answering. "Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, there's another world run by ponies. A criminal escaped there and took refuge here. She tried to turn an entire body of students into her personal army on conquest, but she was stopped when she attracted the pony princess. She should've been punished, but instead, she was given a chance at friendship. Then, some time later, the magic Sunset Shimmer brought attracted a trio of evil sirens that nearly brought this school into anarchy. Sure, they were defeated, but I made it my vow to never let anyone get into that ever again." "That's why you're taking away all the programs?" Discord asked. "Because of Sunset Shimmer and the Dazzlings?" "Every time this school dropped its guard, everyone was in the mercy of bringers of chaos and disharmony." Starlight explained. "The only way I could make sure that never happened again was by becoming student president and using my power to make everyone one and the same. No accidents. No flukes. No chaos." "You can't be serious!" Discord shouted. "You're out of your mind!" "I knew you would never fall for my equality plans." Starlight said. "That's why you had to go. And now, this. You brought me in the middle of an empty gym. What exactly do you hope to accomplish here?" "Just keeping you busy." Discord said. Suddenly, a loud noise shrieked throughout the entire school. It was a loud alarm that spooked Starlight Glimmer. "The fire alarm?" Starlight Glimmer asked. "What are you doing?" "I'll give you a hint." Discord said. Discord pointed behind him revealing a door. There was a red caption reading "FIRE EMERGENCY!" Suddenly, the gym doors slammed open and everyone ran through. They then stopped in their tracks seeing Discord in front of them. The crowd muttered to themselves before the school staff walked to the front. "Discord?" Principal Celestia asked. "What are you doing back here?" "He's up to his old tricks again!" Starlight shouted. "He used his hocus-pocus to set off the fire alarm!" "I assure you, I did not do anything on it." Discord said. "My friends were actually the ones who..." "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" a shout called out. Officer Iron Will ran from a side-door taking a nasty look at Discord. He was soaking wet. "You again?" Discord asked. "But... Fluffy..." "Iron Will used wit to outsmart the beast." Iron Will said. "That, and I swam across a lake to lose it. It wouldn't go anywhere near the water. Now, I'm going to have to place you under arrest." "Very clever, officer," Discord said in a British accent materializing a detective jacket and a dog head, "Except for one minor snag: you got the wrong crook. Starlight's the one you want. She was attempting to cut off all the programs just to make everyone equal, and I can prove it." He pulled out a tape recorder from his pocket. "You see, I got her entire confession right here on tape." He pressed the play button, but instead of words, polka music was played. Discord changed back to his usual look and shouted. "All right! Who's the wise guy?!" Starlight Glimmer looked at the students turning their eyes at her. She then feigned a gasp. "I am wounded! You are lying!" "NO!" a voice called out from the other side of the room. The six girls and the Computer Club stood there out of breath. "He's not lying!" Ricky shouted. "Starlight Glimmer is going to remove all the sport teams, the clubs, and more." Starlight grew even more nervous. "Don't listen to them! I'm class president! Why would I do such a preposterous thing?" "If you won't believe us," Ricky said pulling out a flash drive, "Believe Devastator! He's the one with the proof!" Ricky ran to the stage and reached a control panel. He plugged the flash drive in and lowered a giant screen in front of the stage. When it lit up, Devastator appeared at the screen. "Yes?" he asked. "Oh. I didn't realize I had an audience. Um... 'To be or not to...'" "Devastator," Ricky interrupted, "Just show them what Starlight's been up to." "I'm going to pretend you said please." Devastator said. Suddenly, the screen showed sheets of paper and numbers running. Starlight grew worried by the second seeing special program names being removed. "Say no more." Principal Celestia said. "Starlight, explain this." "I... Well..." Starlight said nervously. She then groaned. "Fine! I was going to do all that! But it's what's best for the school!" "You're insane!" Derpy shouted. "I have a band!" Flash Sentry shouted. "We're a group too!" Apple Bloom shouted. "What were you planning to do with the food then?" Granny Smith asked. "Even I admit, this is villainous!" Adagio shouted. "I don't have to take this from any of you!" Starlight Glimmer shouted. "All these clubs did was separate you all further! These clubs represent how different and superior you all think you are!" "What's wrong with being different?" Discord asked. "I'm more different from anyone else than ever. I don't need a club to be special, but it's what makes us closer. But you know that you're little subtle hypnosis gig couldn't work on me. That's why you wanted me gone!" "BE QUIET!" Starlight Glimmer shouted. She turned back to the rest of the school. "It was all our differences that started all the threats to our welfare! Sunset Shimmer drove us all apart! The Dazzlings used our differences to their advantage! I'm bringing friendship! I'm bringing equality! I'M CREATING HARMO..." She stopped when a zipper covered her mouth. All she could do was muffle loudly. She turned to Discord rolling her eyes with her fingers post-snapped. "Oh, shut up!" Discord shouted. "You're trying to take all the happiness and fun from this school! I may be chaotic and lawless, but you're the villain here!" Steamed, Starlight Glimmer clutched the end of the zipper and pulled it open. As she was done, the zipper disappeared. "THAT'S IT!" Starlight screamed with rage. Starlight ran toward the stage and knocked Ricky backward. She disappeared to the side. "Uh, where's she going?" Discord asked. "The roof!" Flash Sentry shouted. "There's a staircase that leads to the top of the school!" "AFTER HER!" Trixie shouted. The staff tried to stop them, but the students followed Starlight's direction. This time, Ricky saw the stampede coming and jumped out of their way. Discord, the girls, and the rest of the Computer Club went to the club leader. "Are you all right, buddy?" Joe asked. "Not for long!" Ricky panicked. "Starlight's clearly gone insane! She took Devastator's flash drive!" Everyone gasped and looked up. They saw Starlight open the roof window with the flash drive in her hand. As Starlight ran on the roof, she searched frantically for a way to climb down, but had no such luck. She turned and the entire student body cornered her to the ledge. "BACK OFF," Starlight shouted, "OR I'LL JUMP!" Discord and the others squeezed through the angry mob and approached the mad student. "Don't be stupid!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "You can't possibly fall off the roof of the school without breaking something!" "Then I'll break this!" Starlight shouted holding up the flash drive she swiped. "Don't!" Ricky shouted. "You can't break that thing! It means everything to me!" "It's a computer program!" Starlight emphasized. "That has life now!" Ricky shouted. "Discord actually gave Devastator feelings and emotion! You drop that thing, you'll be committing murder!" "And this is a kid's story too!" Discord added. "Just... put... it... down." "Very poor choice of words!" Starlight shouted. "And I refuse to negotiate with a freak!" Discord straightened his face in fear and ran toward her. Starlight threw the flash drive across like a Frisbee and Discord followed when he jumped toward the drive. "DISCORD!" Fluttershy shouted noticing Discord jumping off the ledge. Discord heaved his leap until he grabbed the flash drive. He pressed it against his chest and covered it before sighing. "Big adventure. Tons of fun. A beautiful heart. Faithful and strong. Sharing kindness is an easy feat. And magic makes it all complete." Suddenly, a glow escaped from Discord's entire body. The light stopped moving when it hit the ground. Everyone was astonished by the sight. "What is going on?" Starlight asked. "How is this possible?!" Then, the light burst open and Discord appeared with a whole new appearance. He had an antler and a horn appearing on his head. He also had bat and feathered wings at his back and a snake tail at his... You know. "WOO-HOO!" he shouted excitedly as he soared through the sky. "YEEEAAAAH!" As Discord flew over the town, he accidently came across a limo in the street. The car doors opened and two adults walked out. They saw Discord and gasped. "Mom, dad!" Discord gasped nervously. "I... can explain?" Before anyone could say another word, Discord flew away back at the school. He hovered gently over the roof before landing. He held up the flash drive he saved and passed it to Ricky. Discord then turned to the frightened Starlight Glimmer. "This.. This is impossible!" Starlight shouted. "You couldn't tap into the Equestrian magic!" "What makes you think that?" Discord asked. "Yes, I had no guarantee that I'd survive, but my friend was in danger. I had nothing else on my mind except for how it might affect everyone else. But I wouldn't expect you to understand. You're a stubborn psychopath who prefers to have things her way! You're too much of a sadist to understand!" "No!" Starlight shouted. "No, you're lying! I'm the one who was trying to save the school from falling apart! You're trying to provoke it! You did nothing good for this school and..." Suddenly, Discord materialized a colorful cannon on wheels. "What is that?" Starlight asked. "Party cannon." Discord explained. He pulled the strong and entire party decorations blew out of the front. They hit Starlight and she fell backward off the school. "Ooh." Pinkie Pie said admiring the weapon. "Wish I had one of those." "Discord, are you nuts?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "You just killed Starlight!" "I doubt that making her land in a bounce house would count as killing." Discord said. Everyone looked over the ledge and saw Starlight groaning on top of a yellow bounce house covered with confetti and streamers and cake frosting. As soon as she rolled off the balloon, she saw something that horrified her. Iron Will stood there with a police squad behind him. She thought of looking for a way to escape, but everyone in the school ran out the front door confronting her. She grew incredibly angry to see Discord smiling with his extra animal features disappearing. "Starlight Glimmer," Iron Will shouted, "You are under arrest for conspiracy, attempted murder, and disturbing the peace with your insanity. Boys, read her rights to her and take her away!" "NO!" Starlight Glimmer shouted as the cops grabbed her arms and pulled her toward the car. "YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! I'M CLASS PRESIDENT! YOU CAN'T LET DISCORD STAY IN THIS TOWN! HE'LL TEAR YOU ALL APART! HE'S THE REAL VILLAIN, NOT ME! "HE'S A MANIPULATIVE JOKER WITH THE BRAIN OF A CHILD WHOSE VERY ACTIONS ARE DANGEROUS AND WILD I'M YOUR ONLY SOLUTION! I BRING JOY ALL AROUND LET HIM STAY AND HE'LL RUN THIS SCHOOL TO THE GROUND YOU WON'T EVEN LAST THE YEAR DISCORD DOESN'T EVEN... BEEEEEEEELOOOOOOOONG... HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE" Those were the last words she shouted before the cops slammed the car door in her face. The police siren wailed and the car she was in drove away. Discord waved at the leaving car with an angry Starlight watching him. "SEE YA', CRAZY!" Discord shouted. > Chaotic Friendship > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "You did it, Discord!" Fluttershy congratulated. "You saved the school!" "Yeah, I did, didn't I?" Discord asked happily. "This is great! Nothing can ruin this moment!" Suddenly, Discord felt something fasten around his wrist. Iron Will slapped on some handcuffs behind Discord. "Well, that did it." Discord said. Iron Will pulled Discord's other hand behind his back and cuffed it. "Hey, what's the idea, big guy? I gave you the real criminal!" "Starlight may have been trying to bring the school down," Iron Will explained, "But that doesn't change the fact that you came back when you weren't supposed to. As such, you are under arrest for trespassing." "What?!" Discord asked. "I had no choice!" "He's not going to listen to reason, big guy." a familiar voice hissed. Discord's mini-devil self appeared at his shoulder. "He's all action, no talk. Give him some action and we can get out of town." "No!" an angelic voice said. Discord's other self appeared at his other shoulder. "It's about time Discord finally did the mature thing and took responsibility." "Oh, now, you guys show up?" Discord asked annoyed. "Uh, kid," Iron Will said, "What's with the yous in pajamas?" "Don't ask." Discord said. "Hey, you two, I'm in a predicament. So... vamoose. Scram. Poof away. I'll handle this on my own." "All right." the angel said. "Fine." the devil said. They both disappeared. "DISCORD!" two pairs of adult voices called out. Two adults came from behind the police and grew worried faces. "Mom!" Discord shouted. "Dad! I can explain!" "Allow me!" Iron Will shouted. "Parents, your son has been caught trespassing!" "I really don't like you." Discord growled at Iron Will. "I get that a lot." Iron Will said. What followed was a loud riot to discuss the fate of Discord. "Discord, you've got to escape." Fluttershy shouted. "Discord, if you do, you'll get the punishment of a lifetime!" Discord's dad shouted. "It's all right." Discord sighed. "I'm not going to." That silenced everyone. "Mom, dad, I'm afraid they're right. I messed up again. And I tried to make it up by helping the whole school, but I just got myself in more trouble. And now... I've got nothing." Fluttershy approached Discord and patted his back. "But Discord, you've got us." "That's true." Discord smiled. "And I wouldn't trade any of you for anything." "As touching as that is, you still committed a felony." Iron Will said. "And I'm going to have to arrest you." "For what, helping us?" Flash Sentry asked. "For your information, Discord has been more help than he was trouble. He saved us from the Dazzlings." "How do you know about that?" Discord asked. "Everyone knows about that." Flash Sentry replied. "He helped us get closer to finding our future." Sweetie Belle said. "And he levitated heavy crates for the Apple family." Apple Bloom said. "Right, Big Mac?" "Eeup." her older brother said. "Wait a minute." Discord reveled. "I really did help the school. And I would never reverse all that." He escaped Iron Will's grip and walked into the crowd and stood with them. "You see, mom and dad, you may look at what I've done and think I made problems for the family, but to me, all I made are friends. And that's all that matters." "I agree." a voice called out. A light-brown woman with gray hair, a suit, and glasses walked in. "I heard the whole thing." "The mayor!" Applejack recognized. "Principal Celestia, I must ask you this question," the mayor said, "Do you, without any reasonable doubt, believe that Discord benefits the school?" Principal Celestia took a look at Discord standing beside every student ready to support him. She smiled and made up her mind. "Yes." "Very well." the mayor said. "Therefore, I am to make a little change to Discord's sentence. Instead of arrested and expelled, he is to make up for his mischief with 30 hours of community service to the whole town. Iron Will, release him." "Can do, mayor!" Iron Will said unlocking the handcuffs. "No hard feelings, right?" "Let's just say you're not invited to my next birthday party." Discord replied. "Discord," Principal Celestia said, "We're sorry we misjudged you. Hey, since Starlight has proven to be clearly insane, would you care to take her place as class president?" Discord's eyes glowed and he tapped his chin. He then came to a decision, "Why not? Couldn't hurt, right?" Then, Discord's parents walked in and hugged their son. "We're proud of you, Discord." Discord's mom said. "Still, can't believe we were worried over nothing." Discord's dad said. "We flew in all the way from Australia." "But still, I'm glad you came." Discord said. "I want to introduce you to my friends, all of my friends. Let's start with Fluttershy. She's a bit nervous, but of course we can tell just by her name..." While Discord introduced his parents to all of his friends, the Dazzlings stood by the statue. Adagio and Aria growled in anger towards him, but Sonata began to tear up. "I sure do love happy endings." Sonata cried. "Oh, shut up, Sonata." Adagio and Aria growled. As everyone walked back into the school, Fluffy appeared and jumped into Discord's arms. The computer club plugged the flash drive back in and Devastator showed up smiling from the nearest screen. As Discord chuckled, he also snapped his fingers and a familiar singing frog appeared singing a familiar song that everyone celebrated to. "THERE IS JUST NO ONE WHO CAN HAVE HIM UNDONE YOU CAN'T FIND A MATCH FOR HIM UNDER THE SUN NOW, THE TIME FOR HUMOR HAS BEGUN IT'S ALL JUST A HARMLESS GAME THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH FUN OH, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH FUN YEAH, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH FUN OH, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH... OH, THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH FUN" > EPILOGUE > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In an unknown part of a nearby town, a purple dog saw the fax machine print out a piece of paper with writing on it. It pulled the paper out and carried it to the other room where a girl was sitting. She had purple skin, dark-purple hair, a white jacket, and black-rimmed glasses. When she saw her dog with the paper in its mouth, she reached in and took it from it. "Thank you, Spike." she said. She observed the paper and widened her eyes. "According to Lyric, Canterlot High has been added a living... chaos factor!" Spike the dog watched as his master stood up and came to a decision. "No more distant investigation. We're going to find our answers... personally."
