> Recreation of Life > by Sugarcube66 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Falling through the heavens > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight was sitting in one of the sky chariots. She was on her way home from Cantorlot, after having been summoned for a special talk with Princess Celestia about Twilight's role as the Element of Magic and about the knowledge that Celestia had a student before her. Twilight was thinking about this other student, and didn't really think about how fast the pegasi were going. Celestia had said her former student's name was Sunset Shimmer but the mare wasn't her student for very long. She had introduced Sunset to a magic mirror which opened once every 30 moons and let to a alternative dimension, but after that Sunset vanished with the only trace left behind was the mare's precious sun locket that Celestia had given her and a note that spoke words of traitor and liar, both of which were in the room with the mirror. Celestia had also said that she didn't know what had drove Sunset away but neither the less, she was worried. A unicorn would be lost in the alternative world, and it would be dangerous if anypony discovered that she wasn't a 'human' and thus she wouldn't be safe there. Twilight thought about it. The words traitor and liar rang through her head. Celestia wasn't a liar as for as she knew and she was like a mother to her. Wait, mother. Could it be possible that Celestia and Sunset Shimmer were related? There names were similar after all and that would explain it. If Celestia didn't want Sunset to find out about Sunset being her foal then it would make sense for Sunset to call Celestia a liar and a traitor. But why wouldn't the princess tell her daughter that they were related. Twilight had no time to think about it when suddenly the chariot's speed picked up, due to a gust of wind catching the pegasi guards' wings and it was hard to keep control of the speed at which they were going. Twilight was gripping onto the chariot, hoping the quick speed would be short but she was unlikely as a gust of wind caused her to gasp out and lose her grip. With nothing to grip too, Twilight fell through the air. Screaming so loud that her lungs pained, Twilight tried to flap her arms. She knew it was useless but she couldn't think of anything better to do at that particular point in time. She sighed, horn glowing as she wrapped her body into her herself, magic surrounding her. She couldn't stop the fall but she could lessen the impact. She sighed, and saw the ground getting closer to her every second. Tears rippled from her eyes as she thought about her friends, family, Princess Celestia and everypony else who cared and cherished her, she hoped they wouldn't mind if she was found dead. She waited for the impact to come and sure enough, seconds later with a crash landing, she hit the earth beneath her. But the problem was that when she hit the ground, her horn was hit harshly and it sent her raw magical abilities haywire. She gasped in horror, with what little conscious she had left in her as her colors changed. She wasn't suppose to be a different color, no what was happening? Why was her magic going haywire like this and it only got bad when her cutie mark, her destiny was robbed from her and replaced with another, one that would changed her life. She tried to call for help, but her voice didn't work. Dust filled her eyes, nose and mouth as she struggled to breath. She began closing her hurting eyes, hoping that somepony would find her before it was too late. But she never saw anypony before her last strains of conscious faded in darkness, as she summoned her strength into one little plead. ''Help me....'' Nearby, a unicorn mare overheard the small yet weak pray for help. Her orange ears flickered as she tried to pinpoint the direction it was coming from. The mare gasped when she saw it coming from the nearby woods, which were filled with dangerous creatures such as fire snails and beetles, and twittermites. If a pony was in those woods, then they weren't likely to make it out. The unicorn growled in frustration, wanting to help but not wanting to put her life at risk. She eventually went with her former choice and ran straight for the overgrowth. Her horn glowing, she trotted into the woods, prepared to fit if needed be. She closed her eyes, let out a sigh and ran through the woods, looking for any sighs of life. That's when she spotted it, a pony with a crimson coat and rose colored mane was simply laying in the dirt. The pony was so covered in dust and mud that the unicorn could barely see that the pony was a mare, a unicorn mare just like herself. And that she had a rose cutie mark to go with her beautiful pink rose mane. She shock her head, trying to clear her thoughts as she bolted to the mare. The unicorn looked over the crimson mare with concern ridden in her turquoise eyes. She scanned the mare's breathing for a respond and was glad to see that the mare was still, in fact, alive. But that was the least of her concerns. The orange mare had to get her out of her, now! ''Sorry, but try and stay asleep.'' mumbled the unicorn mare, to the sleeping unicorn. 'Okay, calm down, Shimmer, it'll be okay. We just have to get out of here, now! Like right now!' Shimmer groaned as she forced herself to pick the sleeping mare up from the ground and placed her on her back. The mare was heavy but what could you expect from a full grown mare. Shimmer sighed and bolted for the exit to the woods. She had to get the mare out of there and especially before anything dangerous chose that time to appear. Shimmer could say that she was glad when she finally escape the woods and saw a couple of friendly faces. Her bests friends, the group looked at her with concern. Eventually one of them, a unicorn like her, but a light blue instead of a flaming orange, asked. ''Sunset, are you alright? Why did you enter those woods and why are you carrying a mare with you?'' ''Trixie, not know. This mare has obviously been through a lot. I mean, she's unconscious and definitely didn't know that I had saved her from the dreadful place.'' said Sunset, as she put the rose mare on the floor. ''I wonder what her name is.'' ''Something to do with rose?'' questioned one of the other mares, a bouncing blue earth pony. ''Sonata, really? Thanks for the obvious.'' groaned one of the other two, this one also a earth but purple instead of blue. ''You agree, Adagio.'' ''Yep. What are you going to do with her, Sunny?'' said Adagio, a orange earth pony. ''Well, maybe she should come with us. I mean, it might not be so bad.'' mumbled Sunset, though she didn't realize that her cheeks like up a bit. ''Oh, you have a crush on this mare and you don't even know if she can speak, hear, see or whatever!?'' gasped Trixie, in a shocked tone of voice. Her best friend was in love with an unconscious mare?! That just didn't sound right at all. ''I do not....I'm just worried about her, that's all. Let's settle down for the night and ask her in the morning.'' suggested Sunset, with a thick blush on her face as she slip into her orange, sunset designed sleeping bag. The others struggled at their friends actions and went to sleep themselves, thinking about what would transpire the very next day. > The gang > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning arose. Sunset Shimmer woke up feeling great after that long sleep. She walked over to the still unconscious unicorn mare and stroked her mane. What caught her attention was that the mare responded by mumbled in her sleep then awaking. A pair of violet eyes burned into Sunset's memory and a small blush formed on her face before she shook her head and forced the blush to vanished from her now scarlet cheeks. ''Are you alright?'' asked Sunset, gently to not scare the newly awakened mare. ''....Yea....um....where am I....Wait, who am I?!'' cried the mare, urgency filling her voice. The mare began frantic as she tried to remember what her name was and if she knew the mare who she was standing with. Sunset put her hooves on the mare's shoulder gently and said. ''Calm down. You don't remember what you name is?'' ''No....Um...do I know you?'' Sunset flinched, should she lie to keep the mare calm. She would have to speak to her friends but at this moment in time she didn't have much of a choice so she nodded and mumbled. ''Yes....I'm um....your friend, Sunset Shimmer. Don't you remember, Ruby Rose?'' ''Ruby..? Is that my name?.....Sorry, I just don't remember anything.'' mumbled Ruby, gently. She was unable to process what was going on but at least she knew she had a friend. ''No. It's alright, I won't leave you till your memories return.'' said Sunset, with a smile. Her nerves had calmed now and it was easier for her to lie to the mare in front of her. ''Sunset, is she awake?'' came a sleepy voice. Trixie appeared from the nearby tent where they ate their meals. She had a pancake in her hoof as she stared at her best friend. ''Give me a moment, Ruby.'' mumbled Sunset, as she walked over to Trixie and whispered into her ear. ''She doesn't remember anything, so I thought that we might as well lie to her at least till her memories return. I mean, she wouldn't survive in this dreaded world with no memories of where her family was.'' Trixie listened in, nodding gently before whispering in reply. ''So, you want us to act as her friends and you gave her that name, Ruby. What her surname, just to ask because then I could go tell the others.'' ''It's Rose, Ruby Rose. I thought it would fit with her design and cutie mark.'' mumbled Sunset, as she glanced at Ruby, who was happily watching a butterfly. ''No, go tell them so that we don't confuse Ruby when they come out. Just tell them what I told you, that her name is Ruby Rose. As for her personality, just tell them that she's was always a little jumpy and curious. I mean, we can't confuse the poor mare. She had to been through a lot to lose her memories just like that.'' ''I will, then once you want us to come out, just give us a call and we'll come and introduce ourselves to Ruby.'' said Trixie, with a smile before she disappeared back into the tent to finish her breakfast. Sunset smiled and let out a quiet sigh before she turned back to Ruby to see the mare waiting patiently for her. The orange unicorn choose to walk back to her. ''Want to meet your other friends, I can call them out soon. I say soon because their eating at the moment. I just sent Trixie inside to warn them about your amnesia but don't worry too much, okay?'' ''O....okay...'' mumbled Ruby, fear and confusion ridden within her small, harp like voice. ''...Sure. I'll meet them, Sunset. B...but, I don't remember what they were like....you sure they'll be kind to me, just like you.'' ''They'll be. In fact, Trixie and the Dazzlings are the best friends I had ever finished after I lost my mother because she refused to have me. She didn't care whether I was her daughter or not, she treated me like a student and nothing more. God, how I hate her so much. You wouldn't know, would you? When I was just a little filly, I dreamed of having a princess for a mother because...well I didn't have one. I was abandon at birth, that's what the orphanage told me. I didn't have a parent to care for me and nobody wanted a filly with a flaming mane and tail. I grew up in Fillydelphia, a place filled with earth ponies so nopony wanted a unicorn for a daughter so I grew up without a parent to care for me. So when I was taken in by Celestia as her prize pupil, I was so glad. I didn't have to live in a town of earth ponies anymore. But then, shortly after I stumbled upon a diary which told me that Celestia was my parent. I hated her so much for giving me up, she didn't love me. So I ran away, tricking them into believing I went through this magical portal. I actually had for about a year, and during that time I was used, humiliated and so I ran back to Equestria as soon as the portal reopened. I met Trixie, after she had suffered a heartbreak in Ponyville, soon enough the Dazzlings joined us only a couple of weeks after. I been traveling with them since, avoiding the guards for 3 years. You joined us before the Dazzlings did but that enough for today.'' Sunset forced a smile for a moment but frowned when she saw tears formulating within Ruby's eyes. ''Is it something I said?'' ''No...but y...you had such a heartbreaking life and I can't even remember the first time we met...and the day you told me about this!'' cried the mare, tears freely falling down her crimson face. ''Shh, it's alright. It's alright, it's not your fault.'' said Sunset, tears falling down her own face. She didn't even realize when she started hugging Ruby, she just did as her tears freely fell from her eyes. ''Is this a bad time?'' came a voice. Sunset turned, tears still in her eyes and her arms still around Ruby. The orange mare saw that it was Trixie with the Dazzlings. ''Why are you crying, Sunset. And why are you hugging Ruby, who by the way is also crying. It's like you retold her your darkest secret. Wait. You did, didn't you?'' ''I did, but that doesn't matter to you. Come on, Ruby. These are you friends.'' said Sunset, with a smile. ''First up, Trixie.'' ''Hi again, Ruby. I'm Trixie Lulamoon. I'm descended from Princess Luna, hence my surname but I don't process any particular magical powers that she has. Me, you and Sunset used to be a little trio, before the Dazzlings joined us.'' she had overheard the last part of Sunset's speech and so knew about how they were partially going to do this. ''Okay, next up.'' said Sunset, who had her hoof wrapped around Ruby's shoulder. ''Hi! Hi! I'm Sonata Dusk, your bubbly friend. I remember the time when I had bubblegum stuck to my hooves so I couldn't walk anywhere. You help me and we became fast friends after that. I wish you could remember, Rosy.'' Sonata's voice went very fast so it was hard for Ruby to pick up what she said, but Sunset whispered it into her ear for her. ''....Um....Okay, though I don't think anypony would become friends throw gum but...it doesn't matter. Um...next, I guess...'' ''I guess, I'll go next.'' said the purple earth pony. ''Hi, I'm Aria Blaze....Well, I guess I could say that me and Sonata are together but that's just plain embarrassing.'' ''Uh, Ari. You just said it.'' giggled Sunset. Even Ruby giggled a little. Aria blushed strongly and ran back to the tent. The orange earth pony watched this before saying. ''Guess it's my turn. I'm Adagio Dazzle. The leader of the Dazzlings. Me and my 'sisters', if I could refer to them as that, were once evil but after out punishment and meeting with you and the others, we decided to be reformed. Of course, when we first met, me and the girls were only little fillies.'' ''Fillies?...But...um, I thought your were full grown mares.'' asked Ruby, confused at what she meant. After all, Adagio and the others looked like grown ups. ''Nope, when me and the other two lost our powers.'' said Adagio, as she gripped onto the pendent that was wrapped her neck, the same pendent that was seen on both Aria and Sonata. ''We lost our bodies and we looked like spirits for centuries. Eventually, we regain enough magic to morph ourselves into these bodies but we still had to allow them to grow so we're only teenagers. Luckily, our growth is sped up so in another year or so, we'll be grown mares like you lot. But that's for a different time. You now know us and you definitely know Sunset considering she was the one who found, after you devastating accident, and saved you from the twittermites that live in the nearby woods. She was lucky to hear your cry, actually.'' ''I...see...'' mumbled Ruby. She began thinking, would she ever get her memories back? Why did it seem like the girls were almost lying to her? And who were her parents? She didn't know any of the answers, considering her amnesia but she did know that she would be surprised when they returned. > Attack. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A couple of days passed for the group. It was a rainy Saturday and they had promised before Ruby's appearance that they would head into the nearby town for some cooking ingredients since they were running low and only had enough to make till the end of the week but with Ruby appearing, they weren't able to go till she had settled down. Now was their day to go. Despite the rain, they couldn't wait any longer for more food. Ruby walked by Sunset, staring at the orange unicorn for a moment, thinking about what Sunset had told her when it was revealed that she had amnesia. About Sunset's past, it was just tragic. Why would the princess lie to her own daughter like Sunset had said she did. Ruby didn't know the answer, after all, she couldn't even remember her own friends, let alone anything else. The group walked into the small village. Small was a good word for it, because there was literally only like 4 streets in the entire village. It was smaller then the tiny Ponyville. But to Ruby, it was the biggest and most populated place she had seen since her memories faded. ''There's a lot of ponies here....'' She mumbled, as she hid behind Sunset. The orange unicorn stared down at the crimson mare for a moment before replying. ''There sure is, now come along. We need milk, eggs, butter, fruits, vegetables and two loafs of bread.'' Sunset read out the list for the ponies, before she began selecting jobs. She turned to Aria and gave her some bits. ''Ari, go with Sonata to get the milk, eggs and butter from the Mr Burns the village's farmer, she would just get lost otherwise....'' ''Hey! I don't get lost that often!'' cried Sonata, hating how she was treated like a little baby more then half the time. ''A-RI-A, tell her to let me go alone!'' ''Nope, I'm not trusting you on your own. I don't want to lose my girlfriend now, do I?'' said the pigtail haired earth pony. Sonata blushed, but continued whining. ''But!'' ''Oh, quit whining. Just come with me, I even get Mr Burns to let you stroke the cow.'' With that said, Sonata shut up and followed her girlfriend to the nearby farm. Sunset shook her head, wondering if she would ever get a break from the lovebirds of the group. She turned to Adagio and Trixie, handing them some bits and said. ''Okay, next. Adagio, can you and Trixie get two loafs of bread for us, from the baker. I don't know how long it will last and we still have a long way to go to get to Fillydelphia.'' ''Sure, come along, Trixs'' ''I guess your going to the supermarket with Ruby because you don't want her getting lost?'' asked Trixie, with a small smirk on her face. She was almost certain that her best friend had a crush on Ruby. ''Oh, shut up and do what I told you to do!'' yelled Sunset, blushing. Ruby looked at her, curiosity clean in her eyes. ''Don't even think about it, now come on. We have to get the fruit and vegetables.'' Trixie giggled and walked away from the pair with Adagio. Sunset groaned and walked aside of Ruby to the supermarket, looking down at the few bits she had. Since they were on a run from the royal guard, they had little to no time to collect bits and basically had to work in small villages like the one they were in. Soon enough, Ruby tapped her and mumbled. ''We're here, Sunset.'' ''Oh, thanks for telling me.'' mumbled Sunset, realizing she had dazed out. She then said ''Now, stay close. This place may be small but you could still get lost just like that. I don't want something to happen to you....'' She stopped when she realized that nopony was standing next to her, nopony at all and it scared her. ''Ruby? Ruby!? Where are you? Oh, this is so my fault for dazing off. If I didn't, she might still be here.'' She ran frantically into the store, hoping that Ruby had just gone inside and hadn't wandered off. Ruby walked around the shop, having not realized that her friend wasn't nearby. She smiled for a while before speaking. ''Sunset, this is amazing. I've never seen so many products in all my life...well, the bits I remember.'' She then realized. ''Uh oh...I'm lost. Sunset? Please tell me your nearby and that this is just some crazy joke. Yeah, crazy joke. My friend decided it would be fun to trick me into believing I was all alone in a huge scary shopping center....No wait, Sunset wouldn't do that. So, I did get separated!'' The ruby colored frantically looked around, tears filling her eyes. She was so scared that she didn't notice when a stallion came up behind her and asked her. ''Are you lost, beautiful?'' ''Yea....my friend's disappeared and I can't find her!'' cried Ruby. ''Oh, that's so sad. Well, come with me. I'll help you find her. I promise.'' said the stallion, wrapping his wing around the mare in a almost comforting manner. ''O...okay..'' mumbled Ruby, following him. What she didn't know is that all of this wouldn't be good for her at all. That it would scar her for life. Sunset ran through the mall, looking for her missing friend. She was so scared that she didn't realize that she was being tapped on the shoulder, until a voice rang through her mind. ''Sunset what's wrong? Wait, where's Ruby?'' Sunset turned to see Trixie looking at her, worry filling her purple eyes. The Dazzlings were there two, sharing Trixie's look but they didn't speak unless it was necessary. ''Ruby's vanished! She was with me one moment, and gone the next. I...I can't find her.'' cried Sunset, tears filling her eyes as she hugged her best friend. ''Don't worry, we'll help you find her.'' said Trixie, with a smile. ''Don't you have a tracking spell at all?'' ''Oh...yea....I was so scared that I didn't think of that.'' Sunset frowned a little before lighting up her horn. She focused and closed her eyes for a few minutes before the aura around her horn shaped and formed a arrow. ''Follow the arrow, it'll led us straight to her. I just hope we're not too late. Ruby walked with the stallion into a alleyway. She didn't know why they had gone this way, she had just followed him. ''Um...mister, where are we? I thought we were looking for my friend.'' ''Oh, we are. I'm just collecting some of my buddies. After all, I can't leave a damsel in worry and shock after all. Although, you'll have more to worry about once were had our way with you.'' He smirked and somehow Ruby knew it was time to get out of there. The mare began to run only to have the stallion jump on her and for a severe and heartbreaking pain to fill her sensing up. She didn't even have time to think about working out how the teleport, she felt so helpless like this. By the time, the stallion decided to stop and get off her, the poor mare was pretty much unconscious, holding onto what little stains of consciousness that she had left inside her. She was that out of it that she didn't see when the stallion grabbed a knife and began slashing her until the pain overwhelmed her already pained senses. Sunset and her group ran so fast, that they didn't even see the surroundings. All of them had worry on their faces, especially the severely concerned Sunset. The arrow was getting brighter by the second, meaning they were getting closer, closer by the second. She hoped that she would find Ruby as soon as possible. The arrow glow brightly when they made it to a alleyway. Now Sunset was scared. Especially when three stallions walked out of the alleyway and ignored them. They were chatting with each other about what they had just done in the alleyway. About the mare they had raped and left for dead. Sunset frantically ran into the alleyway, before any of the girls could stop her. Fear written her in eyes, she just hoped that it was Ruby in there but even if it wasn't, she couldn't leave a mare for dead, one that had been raped. Tears formed in her eyes, the mare was Ruby and she was pretty much unconscious. ''Ruby!'' she screamed, bringing everypony else into the alleyway. All equally scared for their friend. Sunset ran over, tears in her eyes as she held the mare in her hooves. ''Wake up!'' When a pair of purple eyes opened, Sunset calmed a little but the blood and knife that was on the floor didn't help her fright. With tears still in her eyes, she hugged Ruby. ''You'll be okay, I won't let anypony hurt your every again. Never ever again.'' Tears in the other mares eyes, but none of them could speak. Especially when their friend was already crying for her friend to be okay and that she would always protect her. They hoped that nothing like this would happen every again and they silently promised that they would never leave Ruby alone every again. > Doctors > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the incident, the girls went straight to the village doctors. They needed to check up on Ruby, after all she had just been beaten, raped and cut into with a freaking knife, they weren't going to head to Fillydelphia with her in this condition. The poor mare herself was barely awake, having to use Sunset for support. Sunset was just glad that Ruby was awake and was at least walking with support, so she knew that she wouldn't fall into a coma. The doctor was able to saw them straight away. He only let Ruby and Sunset in however, he wasn't even going to let Sunset come in but Sunset glared at him for suggesting that she leave her friend with a stallion after she had just been raped by a gang of stallions. When she said that and frightened to turn him into a hamster, he let her in. The doctor did some test, took some blood samples. He eventually grimaced, looking down at the sleeping mare, before turning to Sunset who was still wait with worry. He sighed gently and said ''Well, Miss Shimmer, your friend seems to be doing pretty well for what she went through. The problem is that she needs some extra blood running through her veins or she may not survive the night. But there is a bit of a problem, she is a very rare blood type. A type that is so rare that only the ponies related of Star Swirl the Breaded obtain it. Are any of your friends related to him or possible the royal family because they have this blood type as they are second cousins to Star Swirl.'' ''Actually my best friend Trixie is related to Princess Luna, would that do? She's only the descendant but would it do?'' ''Yes, it would. Thank you, can you bring her in?'' said the doctor, before getting a glare from Sunset for again suggesting that she would leave Ruby. ''Okay, I'll go get her. Trixie, did you say her name was?'' ''Yes, she's a blue unicorn with a beautiful silvery-blue mane and purple eyes. You won't miss her. Plus, knowing her she'll ask 'how is Ruby'?'' ''So basically, she's like you.'' said the doctor, wearily. ''No, but let's just say I don't trust stallions. Now go get her!'' The stallion nodded as quick as possible and ran to get Trixie. Sunset sighed and looked down at Ruby, gently moving a hoof over the sleeping mare's mane. A little squirm was the reaction she got. She smiled a little, and leaned down and soon their lips brush again each other. But the door then opened, snapping her back into reality. She blushed to herself, wondering what she was about to do to her friend? Could Trixie be right about her feelings for Ruby. She turned to the door and saw the doctor and Trixie. The stallion had a nervous smile on her face before speaking. ''Okay, Miss Lulamoon, can you lay on the bed for me while I check your blood type. I need to be certain after all.'' Trixie did as he told her too and he put a stringer in her shoulder. He tested the blood and saw it was the right blood type necessary to transfer to Ruby. ''Okay, good news. It's the right blood type.'' He again got a impatient glare from Sunset, which spoke get on with it. ''Okay, I just need to set this up now.'' He set up the transfusion and Trixie watched as her blood was being drained from her and sent into Ruby's sleeping form. She was weak yet she couldn't help but smile because she was helping her friend. Her thoughts were detracted when the doctor once again spoke. ''Once this I have transfer enough blood and she's awake again, I'm going to have to have her do a pregnancy test because she was raped, it could be possible that she was in heat after all.'' Hours later, Ruby had awoken and done the pregnancy test which despite being very early in the process was picked up as a positive. She was pregnant much to Trixie's and Sunset's heartbreak. Ruby was so young, too young for a foal. The crimson mare was still laying down in the hospital bed and was staring at her belly were her unborn baby resided. Sunset was sitting next to her and Trixie was still laying down at the neighboring bed. Sunset frowned and said. ''Ruby, are you sure that you want to keep it? You could always have a abortion. I mean, it would just be a bad reminded of what happened to you.'' ''No....I wanna keep it, after all it's wrong to tell somepony who hasn't even had the chance to smell fresh air yet.'' said Ruby with a smile that lit up her face, but there was a sadness in her eyes that both of the other mares detected. ''Sis, are you really, really sure?'' asked Trixie. She and Ruby had found out they were twin sisters shortly after Ruby had awoke. With the blood and DNA as evidence and a spell to prove it, it was pretty obvious that they were related. They had also found out that Ruby had apparently dyed her mane to it's beautiful rose pink and that it was originally dark navy blue-purple, pretty much violet, with a streak of lavender and rose pink running through it. Trixie was a little worry about this hair color thing, because she knew one mare who processed that mane, Twilight Sparkle. But was it possible that Rose was Twilight? She didn't think so, after all, their cutie marks were different for starters. ''I'm very certain, Trixs. I mean it......'' said Ruby, looking at her twin sister with a bright smile. Trixie couldn't help but smile with her, but much like with Ruby's smile, it never reached her eyes which clung to that glow of sadness. She wasn't certain about anything at the moment, but one thing she did know was that they would have to protect Ruby and her unborn foal, even after it's born. That was a pure promise that was shared through all the gang, even the Dazzlings who were still outside silently promised the very same. > Traveling > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day when Ruby had gotten most of her strength back, the group set out for the journey to Fillydelphia where they would be safer for at least a few years. The doctor that Ruby had saw ordered the village carpenter to make them a cart so she could rest when that Ruby could rest when she would need too. ''Um....guys.'' asked Ruby, looking at her friends as she got into the back of the cart. ''Why are we going to Fillydelphia, anyway? I mean, I don't really understand.'' Aria looked at her for a moment before saying. ''We're going to Fillydelphia, because Trixie's father and mother live there and they'll keep us safe for a few months until you had your foal, hopefully.'' ''Yea, hopefully.'' said Sonata, with a worry filled face. ''If worse comes to the worse, we may have to run away prior to the foal being born because the guards are always on our tails.'' Trixie nodded, gently. ''My parents have a small part of the house that is invisible to the outside and that's where we'll be staying. It's basically like another house within a house, it has a kitchen, bathroom and 3 bedrooms. One of which is my own, yeah I live in the 'hidden' part. I did because nopony needed to know that I lived with my parents by then. That and the main house only has one bedroom.'' ''I see.'' mumbled Ruby, gently. ''So, you grew up in a different house to the one that your parents' house at the moment?'' ''No, I grew up in that house. I always lived in the hidden part to the home. I was being bullied since I was in kindergarten, because I was late with my basic skills, walking, talking and potty training. The latter being the worse, they called me 'Pooixe' isn't of my true name. Then later one, when I started elementary and I earned my cutie mark, a talent related to magic, when I didn't have much talent in that certain skill so they called my 'magic' trixs and my name was changed from my birth name to Trixie. My birth name was Mixie Lulamoon, I know not much different but it got on my nerve. So when I got the chance to move out of my parents' bedroom, I moved straight into the hidden 'house' and particular raised myself with a little help and by the time I turned 12, I ran away having gotten sick of the treatment I had been given. Then I gave myself a job to get bits.'' Ruby nodded, worried and sorry for Trixie. She never thought that a filly would go through that much and she didn't even remember her fillyhood. Despite that, listening to Trixie, she wanted her own foal when it's born to have the best foalhood that she could hope for, instead of having the harsh treatments like Trixie or forgetting foalhood when she grows up. Sunset, who was silent most of the first part of the journey. She was thinking about what had transverse that prior day, Ruby being pregnant and her strange feelings. It wasn't stunned upon for mares to like one another, in fact it was common. But why would she experience her first crush on a mare she had barely met, like a week prior. Ruby was becoming slightly worried about the mare's silence so she spoke up. ''Um, Sunset. Why aren't you speaking?'' Sunset blinked for a moment before looking at the mare, who was laying in the cart that was being pulled along by Adagio, the strongest physically of all of them. ''I'm just thinking, sorry. Don't worry about it, Ruby. What we have the worry about is keeping away from the Royal Guard.'' A droplet of rain fell on her, she grimace and said. ''Looks like we're in for a bit of a storm.'' Right at that very second, a arrow was shot down at them. Aria looked up, fright filling her eyes as she saw a couple of pegasus guards had spotted them in the broad daylight. She glared at Sunset and yelled in a stressed, worry filled voice. A voice with no malice, just worry and concern for their safety ''You just had to say it, didn't you?'' ''Sorry. Come on, into the trees. They'll the safest place to hide.'' yelled Sunset, to the group. Most of the mares found it easy to get away but with Ruby still weakened, she couldn't walk so Adagio had to run and pull her. With the extra tug, Adagio had problems pulling her younger friend to safety. The guards had obviously noticed this and had began throwing arrows at the pair. Rain picked up a little, as the two mares with the cart tried to get to the trees where the others had hidden. Sonata saw this, in fact she was the first to see that there was something wrong. Acting upon instinct, she ran past her friend. The rain continued to get heavier and heavier as she ran closer to the danger of the guards and away from her shocked and worried friends. She managed to catch the guards attention and mouthed something to the shell-shocked Aria. 'If I don't make out of this alive. Remember that I'll always love you, Ari.' As she ran closer to the guards, the pendent around her neck glowed briefly under her wish to protect her friends. An arrow was shot at her and Aira's scream rang through everypony's ears. Rain hailed down onto the area as a big cloud of smoke erupted from the earth below where the arrows had hit and Sonata was nowhere to be found. And so many of the mares' thoughts were going wild unable to believe their ditsy friend would put her live on the line like what she had just done. The smoke clouds didn't find and Aira fell down and wept, thinking the worse had happened to her lover before she silently screamed Sonata's name before mumbling it under her breath getting louder by the second before another ear ringing cry ran through the air from the purple earth pony's mouth. ''Sonata!!!!!!!!!!!!'' The clouds thundered along with her shocked and sadness filled cry and the rain fell across her already wet with tears face. The other mares just quietly looked down at her, none of them could blame her for being upset. They may have just lost a friend and they were all trying to hold back their own tears. > Could it be? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The dust clouds finally eased off and the group saw their friend. Sonata laid motionless on the wet grass, as rain fell around her but not on her because of a gap in the clouds as light shone on her. Aria was the first to get up and run to her friend, tears falling down her cheeks and off her muzzle. A rather quiet cry came from her small mouth as she ran closer. ''Sonata!'' The purple earth pony collapsed beside her girlfriend, tears falling down her cheeks. The rest of the group came over, having made sure that the guards had left upon thinking they had killed one of them. Aria looked down at Sonata's pale face and then gazed her eyes over the blue earth pony's coat, to see the dirt patches and deep wounds where the arrows had hit. But her eyes shot straight to the mare's very slightly rising chest. She was still breathing! Tears of some joy mixed with her tears of sorrow as Aria mumbled out, a small happy filled cry that alerted the others of the news. ''Oh...Sonata.....'' ''She's still alive.'' muttered Trixie, before looking over the horizon. ''If we walk all night, we'll be at Fillydelphia by daybreak. My mom's a nurse and she'll be able to tend to her. But I'm not sure if there is enough room in the cart for her and Ruby.'' Ruby looked down at her motionless friend before speaking up. ''...If I have a bit of support, I may be able to walk. I want her to survive. I may not have many fond memories of being with her but I want her to live. So...if that means forcing myself, I'll do it.'' And to prove it, the ruby colored mare got off the cart and levitated Sonata into it. She stumbled a little and almost collapsed only to have Sunset catch her. ''Your still weak, I'll support you but I suggest that you have a rest when you need too. There may be just enough room in it for the both of you, if you squeeze.'' said Sunset, helping the mare stabilize her hooves. ''And when did you learn to use telekinesis, I don't remember me or Trixie teaching you how?'' Ruby looked away, muttering. ''It just felt natural for me. It just happened and I didn't think. My magic activated and I simply levitated Sonata into the cart.'' ''I see. Well, to be able to do that with little to no knowledge, that would explain why I detect this strong magical energy emitting form you. You have a ridiculous high amount of raw energy. Energy that rivals my own and there is only one mare I know who has ever rival my energy levels and that was Twilight Sparkle. I believe you may be distantly related to her, Ruby.'' ''I...don't remember anypony called Twilight Sparkle....Sis, do you know anypony called Twilight?'' she asked, looking at her blue coated twin. The unicorn mare stayed quiet for a moment before recounted her events with Twilight. ''Yes, Ruby. I do. She's a unicorn mare with a very high magical energy level. From what I can gather, she is the current pupil of Princess Celestia and I have only met her twice, I do know that her magic extends beyond simple telekinesis, for starters she knows how the teleport and use various other skills that I, myself, am unable to use. You know.....sis, remember when the doctor said that your hair may have been dyed. I was thinking that maybe you were Twilight, but if that were true, then I don't understand the cutie mark swap. You have a rose, and Twilight's cutie mark was a six point star with other stars scattered around it.'' Ruby stayed quiet. She had to process that for a moment, thinking quietly. 'Was it possible for a cutie mark to be swapped. Wait, Sunset had said that this Twilight had a high magic level, could that be that her magic went out of control and managed to swap her destiny and natural color sheme. But was that really possible? Could I really be Twilight Sparkle?....The student of the princess and a high leveled unicorn?' ''Now, Trixie. I don't really think that's possible. Ruby can't be Twilight, it's not possible. Sure, her true hair color may be similar but is that much of a reason.'' said Sunset, who was also trying to process that it may be possible to Ruby could be Twilight. The mare who in sense stole her mother away. ''Well, here's something else. Twilight Sparkle was anti-social when she first moved to Ponyville. But now, she's surrouded by friends. If Ruby is Twilight, the now Twilight, then it would make sense that she's more social despite having her shyness quirks. And trust me, Ruby is social. I mean, she made friends with all of us and is even willing the force herself to walk to help Sonata. That is something Twilight Sparkle would do any day. I mean, she helped me in the end. Saw the good in my vengeance filled heart. If it weren't for her, then the Alicorn Amulet would have corrupted me and I don't know where I would be if that had happened.'' ''...Your...actually right. Trixie, is there a way to find out the truth? Is there a way to find out if Ruby is Twilight?'' ''Well, when we get to Fillydelphia. We can check out the library. There's a ton of books on-'' ''The library?!'' piped Ruby, before blushing when she realized that she had interrupted her sister. ''Sorry....'' ''That's another factor, Twilight loves books. So as I was saying, there's a ton of books on spells and I do remember coming across the memory spell that allows one to look into the memories of a amnesic pony. If I remember correctly, it's an advance spell so you would have to cast it, Sunset because I'm still a notice caster. Using it, we'll be able to see if Ruby is Twilight or if their just similar in personality traits, magic levels and hair color.'' Ruby, who had mostly been listening into the conversation, was thinking. Was it really possible for her to be Twilight? If it was, then did that mean her friends had been lying to her this whole time? And would she have to leave them if she was Twilight? She didn't want to leave them after all they had helped her this far and even though they had only been friends for 2 weeks at the most, she wanted them to be together always. After all, Trixie was her sister and she....was gaining some feelings for Sunset. > Arriving at Fillydelphia > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the sun rose over the horizon, Ruby, Sunset and the gang finally caught glimpse of the city of Fillydelphia. Trixie's eyes stared down at the city as she scanned for her parents' home, which rested in the outer edge of the town. She smiled a little when she spotted it, and turned to her friends. ''If we continue walking, we should get at my parents' home in a few more minutes. But I think Ruby needs a rest.'' At that, Sunset looked at the mare that she was supporting and saw that the mare was slipping into a unconscious state from exhaustion. She instinctively gripped the mare tighter and lower her to the ground gently, so she didn't fall. Ruby's eyes shot open, as she tried to groan something out. ''Ruby, take a short rest. You really need it.'' ''...B-but....Sonata..'' ''Will be fine. Trixie and the Dazzlings will take her straight to Trixie's mom, while we rest. You seriously need it, after all you could severely hurt your unborn foal and you don't want that, do you?'' said Sunset, cutting Ruby's plea off. ''She's right, sis. I don't want my unborn niece or nephew hurt, or you hurt. Just stay here for a little while, Sonata will be fine. Sunny, make sure she stays.'' said Trixie, with a small smile brightening her face. ''I will.'' Ruby tried to protest, but was cut short by Trixie and the Dazzlings leaving with the cart that held the sleeping, injured Sonata. She glanced up at Sunset, from her unmoving form. ''I'm fine....Sunset...really.'' ''You aren't, Ruby. You were only raped a little while ago, and you forced yourself to walk to give room for Sonata being injured. I'm worried about you, not about the unborn foal. Will you be able to survive if you keep making reckless decisions like this? I want you to survive.......I love you, Ruby and I don't want to lose you.'' Ruby blushed a little, after hearing those words. But she wasn't able to speak, for a pair of lips cut off any words that tried to escape. At first the kiss scared her, scratch that, terrified her. After her ordeal, she was petrified of any real romantic contact but the kiss was warm and welcoming, like the mother's embrace. And soon, she found herself kissing back. Sunset broke the contact, leaving Ruby to just stare at her as if she wanted more. Sunset smiled a little, through the thick blush that caked her face. She was happy to get her feelings out, even if Ruby didn't accept it, but she wasn't expecting Ruby to spring up and kiss her, with the strength of a full grown stallion, and with as much passion as a blazing forest fire. The two continued to kiss, passionately till a voice rang through their ears. ''Sunny, Ruby. Will you two love birds hurry up, Sonata's awake.'' yelled Trixie, from a little further down the mountain side. She was grinning a little, as if she had been proven correct. Which by the record, she had as she had predicted Ruby and Sunset's relationship before Ruby was raped. ''...That was quick.'' mumbled Sunset, with a smile blush on her face. Not bright but notable. ''Um, no it wasn't. It's been an hour and a half already.'' ''An hour and a half!?'' gasped Sunset, not realizing that the kissing had lasted for that long. With that, she blushed a color that would make the ripest of tomatoes jealous. Ruby smiled at her, and managed to push herself onto her hooves and wander down to Trixie, on her own, much to Sunset's surprise. The mare's movements were a lot more lively then before despite having no rest. The orange unicorn decided to get up and follow the other unicorns down to Trixie's parents' home. ''Sonata...Sonata...Sonata...'' cried Aria, in Sonata's arms. Sunset and Ruby walked in, with a bit of surprise to see their usually cold friend, in Sonata's arms, crying and sobbing with no realization of the other ponies being there. ''Sonata....thank goodness...'' Sunset glanced at Adagio, who was sat on a stroll nearby with tears also filling her eyes, and asked. ''How long has she been crying like this?'' ''Since Sonata woke up about five minutes ago, they have even kissed and Sonata has tried to calm her down, but with little success, and apparently teasing her isn't working.'' said the orange earth pony, as she glanced at her 'sisters'. ''Wow....'' mumbled Ruby, blushing a little. She glanced at Sunset, and blushed even harder. Adagio noted this and giggled.''I think I get this, you and Sunset have fallen in love, haven't you?'' The pair of unicorns gasped and blushed darkly, Ruby even hid her eyes behind her overgrown bangs. ''I guess I'm right. I wouldn't have imaged that Sunset would have reveal her crush this quickly.'' ''Shut up, Adagio.'' cried a blushing Sunset, catching the still crying Aria's attention. ''Huh...? What's going on?'' Adagio smirked, glancing at the purple earth pony. ''Sunset and Ruby have reveal their love for each other.'' ''Really?'' said Aria, with a bit of a confused face. ''...Y-yes...'' mumbled Ruby. ''We.....um...'' ''...Did...'' finished Sunset, with a nervous blush on her face. Trixie and a older woman, who processed a dark violet coat, sliver mane and purple eyes like Trixie's and Ruby's, only darker. ''These your friends, Mixie?'' asked the mare. ''Yes, mama. One of which is my twin...at least, according to the doctors.'' ''...Your twin?...As in Midnight?'' ''Midnight?'' asked Trixie, confused. She had never heard that name. ''Well, sweetie. When you were born, it wasn't just you. It was you and another filly, the other filly's coat was a beautiful lavender and she processed a dark blueish-purple mane with violet and pink streaks running through it and the same purple eyes that you process. We name her Midnight after your late grandmother. But a few months after your birth, she was kidnapped by a few pegasus stallions, and we never saw her again.'' ''...That description....it sounded like that of T-Twilight Sparkle....then...Ruby really is?....'' mumbled Trixie. ''Mixie, what are you talking about?'' asked the mother. ''Well, shortly after I left, I met this mare known as Twilight Sparkle. She was Princess Celestia's pupil and has very strong magic. She beat me twice in magic......but then when I met Ruby...who I shortly found out was my twin sister, I began to wonder if that mare that I had met was Ruby.'' Ruby looked down, slightly. Her lost memories weren't helping her much, but she had figure out that Sunset had lied to her. She couldn't have been Twilight if she had been with her new friends for most of her life. She glanced at Trixie's mother, wondering if the filly she had describe really was her. ''So this 'Ruby', Mixie, could be Twilight Sparkle, who could be Midnight?'' asked Trixie's mom. ''...If I'm correct. We need to check Ruby's memories....she has amnesia......'' ''Amnesia....that's quite sad.'' Ruby frowned, Trixie's mom glanced at her and quickly figured out that the crimson mare was Ruby. ''Your this Ruby, aren't you?'' ''..Yes, ma'ma.....I'm Ruby Rose...or so I have been told....'' ''And you have amnesia?'' ''Yes.....I t-think....I was found by Sunset....unconscious....but I don't know when.....as my memories only go back to about two weeks ago. She and her friends lied to me....to keep me safe....but....a little while later.....'' Ruby trailed off, unable to say what had happened to her. Sunset looked down at her and hugged the pink maned unicorn. Ruby smiled at her and forced herself to continue...''B-but.....I got....r-r-raped....when I got separated from Sunset on a shopping trip....'' Ruby frowned, as the memory of that day returned, the memory of blood, pain and suffering. Tears formed into her eyes, as she fainted into Sunset's arms, her vision hazing in and out till it eventually faded. Sunset gasped, hugging her marefriend tightly. ''Ruby....you...shouldn't have forced yourself...'' > Enter! Petite mystery. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset looked down at Ruby's pale crimson form, as the mare slept peacefully. She wondered why Ruby fainted anyway, maybe from the remembrance of that incident or because of her exhaustion. She didn't know and that made her worry. She brushed her golden hoof over Ruby's dyed pink mane gently, as to not wake the poor mare up. She then leaned down and gently, very gently, kissed Ruby on the lips, feeling her twitch slightly. Purple eyes slowly open to meet Sunset's brilliant blue sea eyes. Her weak, stuttered voice followed shortly after. ''S...S-Sunset.....'' ''Ruby? Your awake.....'' mumbled Sunset, as she gently hugged the mare. ''Thank goodness.'' ''...What happened?'' mumbled Ruby, as she forced herself to sit up. ''You were talking to Trixie's mom and when you mention the incident, you suddenly fainted. I figured it was for exhaustion, but it might have been the memory of that....I sure wouldn't want to remember something like that.'' Sunset hugged her, trying not to hurt her marefriend in any way. ''...I see...'' ''Don't worry about it much. Hey, I have a idea, why don't you and I go down to the library?'' ''....L-library?!'' ''Yes, library. I already know where it is, so how about we go? Rosie?'' ''....Wait, are...you um...asking me...on.....a...date?'' questioned Ruby, curiously and slightly surprised by the nickname if her blush was any indicator. ''No!....wait.....yes....maybe?'' mumbled Sunset, getting quieter with every word spoken. Ruby grinned and giggled a little at Sunset's shyness, and pecked her on the cheek, making Sunset blush a deep scarlet. This only caused her to giggle and grin more. She then said, with a teasing undertone to her voice. ''Well, then. Shimmer, how about we get on with that study date?'' Sunset blushed darkly and mumbled. ''Meanie...'' ''Learnt from the best.'' Ruby smirked, almost evilly. ''...Your a demon...'' muttered Sunset, under her breath so Ruby didn't hear it. ''Let's go, then.'' The two got out of bed and wandered outside. Sunset left a note saying where they had gone, in case they didn't return before anyone woke up. They wandered through the city, it was pretty early as the sun had only just risen and so the horses and buildings were dyed a bright sunset orange. The library wasn't a far walk from Trixie's parents' home, but they never made it as a sob filled scream was brought to their attention. The two ponies looked at each other and ran off to find the origin of the scream, using Sunset's tracking spell. What they found wasn't what they expected. A little, very little and skinny filly was running from a large, full-grown stallion. Tears filled the filly's ruby red eyes, as she wordlessly mouthed the words 'help me'. She was coated in so much dirt and blood that the mares couldn't even see her coat color or her mane for that matter but to them, her appearance wasn't the problem. ''Leave her alone!'' cried Sunset, as she formed a fire shield around the small filly, noting that the child had stopped upon seeing the sea blue colored magic. ''Don't butt in.'' yelled the stallion. ''You cannot tell me how to treat my own daughter.'' ''Your obviously scaring her.'' said Ruby, as she wandered next to the filly, hugging her as a fire shield evaporated. ''Your her father, aren't you? Parents are meant to care for their children, not scare them.'' The small filly looked up at Ruby, wondering why these strangers were helping her. The tears that stained her cheeks began to run dry as she began to understand that she was safer with them. Ruby looked down at her, whispering to the small foal. ''You will be okay now. I won't let him hurt you.'' Sunset shot a fire ball at the earth pony stallion, and said. ''Why are you treating your own daughter like this? Don't you understand that children aren't toys that can be threw away at any point.'' ''If she had been born with a normal coat color, mane and eyes then I would have loved her. But no, she had to be born a albino. Albino's aren't right, their weird creatures. And it's her fault that my lovely wife died!'' ''What your doing isn't morally correct.'' cried Sunset, as she shot a few more fireballs at him, which all hit him. ''Fine, do what you want with her. Drown her, bash her in the head. I don't care anymore, as long as that mentally retarded, albino coated demon is out of my life.'' said the stallion as he threw his knife, which he had tucked in his black coat pocket, at the filly and Ruby. Ruby watched with shock, as the filly took the knife for her. The filly coughed up blood as she landed in Ruby's arms. The knife wound dug deep into the filly's chest, leaving Ruby in complete shock. Sunset growled, yelling. ''What the actually buck!? You could have just killed your own flesh and blood!'' ''Enough about that, Sunny. We need to get this filly some medical attention.'' cried Ruby. Sunset glanced back at her, nodding. She reluctantly followed Ruby, who used telekinesis to carry the small foal. They ran as fast as they could with the dying filly in Ruby's magical grip, they were so glad that their new home wasn't too far away. Ruby looked up at the filly, panting, as they finally made it back to the house. With a few tears dripping from her eyes, she whispered gently to the tiny foal. ''Please survive, little one.'' > Secret of the 'false foal' > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trixie's mother looked the filly over, after having removed the bloodied knife. The filly breathing wasn't great, nor was her will to live. As the mother patched the wound up, her husband said to her. ''Will she be okay, Magic Trick?'' He looked as worried as Sunset and Ruby, who were sat nearby. ''I mean, she's just a innocent foal.'' ''It's hard to say, Houdini.....her breathing is very shallow, too shallow.'' mumbled the mare, with a worry filled tone. ''But, I'll do everything in my power to save her. Sunset got up and wandered over to the foal, after Magic Trick was done. She gently ran her hoof against the filly's face, as she looked at the filly's pale, white features. She looked over the filly's appearance for the first proper time, the filly was a white pegasus with a rainbow mane but the pigtails that ran across the filly's neck were white like the filly's coat. On the filly's flank was a pawprint cutie mark and Sunset knew that the filly processed red eyes despite they were closed. ''Please be okay.'' She whispered gently, Ruby looked at her sadly. The two mares stared at the filly for a little while, not expected to wake up, until those beautiful wine red eyes opened up. Both mares gasped as the filly began to sit up, and stare at them with her dark eyes. ''Y-your awake?'' mumbled Ruby, shock riding in her voice. The filly tilted her head, and for a moment after it looked like she was going to speak but she suddenly stopped but then, she opened her month again and only babyish babble came out. Sunset and Ruby blinked and stared at each other, as if trying to figure out why this filly spoke like that. The filly looked at them for a moment before a short sound came out of her small mouth. ''Ahh....'' ''Sunset...what should be do?....I don't think this is correct, she's only talking like a baby.'' ''I know, I'll get Mrs Lulamoon.'' said Sunset, as she wandered downstairs. Ruby looked down at the small foal, who stared up at her with curious eyes. She smiled, and said. ''Hello, little one. I'm Ruby Rose, what's your name?'' The pegasus foal stared up at her, before repeating what she had said. ''...N-N....name?'' ''....Don't you have one?'' The small albino filly looked down and shook her head, not mumbling another word. ''I see, well....how about I name you 'Rainbow Pawprint' or 'Rainy' for short. Do you like that?'' ''....L-like?.....Like...that...'' uttered the filly, now named Rainy. Ruby looked down at her, worriedly. Rainy couldn't speak very clearly or well, was it possible that her abusive father never let her have any proper learning. She decided not to think about it and asked. ''Rainy, do you remember what happened to you yesterday? With that stallion who claimed he was your father.'' Rainy flinched, looking down as tears formed into her eyes. ''...D-Dawdy......Huwt.....Raiwy....'' ''Shh, it's alright. You don't need to remember if you don't want to.'' said Ruby, hugging the filly. ''If you like, I could be your mother and raise your properly.'' ''...M-mutwer?'' muttered Rainy, repeating what Ruby had said. ''...Or...you could just call me 'Mommy' or 'Mama' if you like.'' ''...Muma...?'' whispered Rainy, looking up at the mare who just said she would be her mother. ''Muma....wow't huwt?'' ''No, I won't. I won't let you get hurt ever again.'' The two ponies hugged for a little while, Rainy mumbling 'Muma' the whole time too. They didn't even notice when Sunset and Magic Trick walked in. Sunset smirked a little. ''So, when did you become the mother to this foal, Ruby?'' Ruby's eyes widened and she glared at Sunset. ''A few minutes ago, Rainy needs somepony to look after her. And I more then willing to be her mother.'' ''..Rainy?'' ''Ah, it's short for Rainbow Pawprint, the name I gave her. She doesn't have a proper name.'' Sunset was a little surprised to hear this. ''And you know this, how exactly? She wasn't speaking before.'' ''..Well, she picked some words up from me and I was able to get her to talk to some extent. She almost like a baby in her learning sense. She quick but awkward and it isn't very clear.'' Magic Trick decided to walk over to Rainy, who was scared at first. ''Shh, it's alright, Rainy.'' mumbled Ruby, to her new foal. The filly nodded a little, and looked up at Trixie's mother. ''....I'll get Trixie....she'll need to meet her niece...'' muttered Sunset, trying to get over the fact that her new marefriend had a daughter before giving birth. ''Okay, Sunny.'' said Ruby, as Rainy was being tested by Magic Trick for various things. ''Good, now Magic Trick. Are you able to walk.'' asked the middle-aged mare. She helped the small filly to her hooves and then let go. ''Now can you walk to me.'' At first, Rainy refused to leave her mother but with a little reassurance, she wandered off. Her walk was wobbly and she stumbled a few times to many, worrying Ruby a little. Magic Trick sighed, and looked at Ruby. ''I might have figured something out, Midnight.'' She used Ruby's possible origin name despite the fact that neither were comfortable with it. ''....I think, Rainy might have been isolated from society for most of her life. I mean, she can't talk very well despite picking words up really quickly nor can she walked very clearly. I think, her father was actually intending for her not be able to do much for herself.'' ''...I....see. That's so sad. A small filly like her shouldn't have gone through what she's been through. I'll definitely be a good mother to her and the foal when it comes.'' said Ruby, as she hugged the filly. She promised herself that she would protect Rainy as she raised her to let no harm come to the foal ever again. > On the road once more. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ruby smiled as she sat next to Sunset, in the front of a stage coach that was owned by Trixie. She watched as two fillies, play with a bunch of others. The two fillies were smiling brightly, despite the fact that was sun was going down and they weren't going to be able to play for much longer. Sunset looked at the sky, noticing a storm coming. ''Rainy, Serenity. You guys better come here, there's a storm on the way and we don't want you injured by accident.'' The little fillies looked at one another and said goodbye to the other foals before going to meet up with Sunset and Ruby. The younger filly was the one to talk. ''What is it, Papa?'' ''Like I said, storm a-coming. We need to get a move on as soon as your Aunt returns, you should get in the back ready.'' said Sunset, to the filly. Serenity was Ruby's daughter, despite being a 'rape child' Serenity was kind and gently, and definitely loved her family more then she cared about her self. As for the filly's appearance, she had a light green coat with yellow mane that processed a streak of blue. The foal's eyes were a bit of a mystery, she had heterochromia, meaning she had two different eye colors. One eye was purple like her mother's, and the other was bright pink, that was tinted with purple, making it look like Trixie's eyes. ''Come on, Rainy. Let's get inside.'' ''Otay, sissy.'' cried Rainy, with joy. Despite being the older sister, Rainy was still a toddler at heart. Sure, her mental age had grown a little over the four years since her adoption but her speech was still slurred and her ability to walk was still tainted. Most people would think that her physically age was that of a 8 year old, and they probably wouldn't believe she came from a horrible background where she was abused if not for not having any color besides the dyes she processed in her mane and the dozen of scars she processed over her body, the noteworthy one being her chest scar from the knife that her father had thrown at her. As the two fillies walked into the coach, a bird flew out with a small deer fawn following it. Rainy looked at the pair, giggling. ''Snowbaww, stop chaswing Flawkes.'' The deer fawn looked at Rainy before wandering over and snuggling the small filly. This fawn was Snowball, Rainy's pet. The fawn was only a few months old and Rainy had found it at a couple of weeks old, when he had been abandoned by his herd. Rainy had particular raised it and the fawn even seemed to think of the small filly as his parent. As for the bird, that was Flakes. Flakes was about two years old, and had been given to Rainy as a gift from the Dazzlings, who had left the girls to try and find out more into their pendents, which were starting to activate like they had years prior. Ruby was laid down at the other side of the couch, with Trixie looking over the map some centimeters away. Ruby looked up from her open spell book to see her daughters and smiled. ''How were the fillies, girls? Were they nice to you?'' ''Ywes, mommy. They were nwice. So hwappy to lwet us pway with thwem.'' said Rainy, happily as she placed her saddle bags down on the floor and went to lay down next to her mother, with Snowball cuddling up next to her. Trixie blinked, as she walked into the coach and looked at Ruby and the adorable sight. ''Girls, it's time to get moving.'' said Trixie, gently. She looked down at the cute sight before her, as Sunset and Serenity joined them. ''Just stay inside, and wait for me to tell you when we arrive in Ponyville.'' Everypony nodded at her, the little family huddled together, happily. Trixie smiled again, before leaving the coach with a last word. ''Just we need to get as much moving done as possible before that storm fully hits. I can't do the pulling in the storm, unfortunately.'' Everybody nodded gently. Just before Trixie was out of sight, Ruby asked. ''Sis, how long until we arrive in Ponyville....'' Her voice was uncertain and maybe even uneasy. But it was obvious as to why, she now knew who she was and wasn't very up to returning back there. ''Hmm, judging by the storm and the rate we're moving, I'd say about a week or so, give or take.'' muttered Trixie, glancing back at her twin sister. ''It'd be alright. It may have been a few years since you lost your memories, but I can be certain that you are no longer the same mare that drove me out of Ponyville. You're both Twilight and Ruby, a mix of traits that can blossom into a great pony. Plus, I can bet you that your friends will be happy to see you, after we fully fix that 'chaos spell' that altered your appearance and cutie mark.'' She paused for a little while, as she let that line sink into her former rival. She smiled softly. ''You have me and Sunset, and if they count; your daughters. Plus, from the last letter I received from Adagio; they'll be joining us again soon. Apparently, they've finally unlocked the majority of the pendent's secrets. Though, one bit surprised me.'' She got a look of curiosity from the other two mares before she continued. ''Sonata and Aria are now married, and with a help of a spell, have a young son named Blue Note.'' ''Wow, never would have expected that.'' said Sunset, nodding her head. ''They were always quite the cute couple, but for them to have a child. I never thought Aria would agree to it. Sonata, maybe, but Aria, no.'' She breathed it, before chuckling to herself. ''So, where did they say they'd be meeting us?'' ''In Ponyville, at the tree house library.'' Trixie replied, calmly. She got an affirmative nod, before she left to start moving the coach. The mares and foals inside simply began to chat with each other, as Trixie pulled the carriage towards their destination. It was to be a long jounery, but it was a necessary one for the group to complete: returning Ruby, or better Twilight, back to her friends, whilst supporting her.
