"So, why do you want to join us, friend?" Starlight Glimmer's smile was sickeningly sweet, a glint of something sinister behind her shimmering eyes.
Double Diamond found himself stammering for an answer. His now bleached bangs fell down in front of his eyes, startling him a bit, making him even more on edge. He was going to have to get used to the changes in his body, between his now completely white coat and his new cutie mark, but that was a thought for later.
"Friendship." Was his eventual reply. "You promised me I could meet other ponies here. I've always been lonely, even when surrounded by many other ponies at home. Or, my old home at least."
The now pure white stallion glanced towards the window, looking for the bright shining faces that had attracted him not too long ago, causing him to abandon his solo ski trip. It was far too dark to see them now, unfortunately. In fact, everything about his current situation seemed much more bleak than it had been earlier in the day. He was beginning to have his doubts now, causing his nervousness. Standing here in Starlight Glimmer's house, the excitement and grandeur from earlier was quickly fading away, leaving him feeling oddly exposed and vulnerable. His breathing started to slow as his whole body became relaxed.
