> Pinkie's Candy Heist > by Sapphire the Gem > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Candy Thief > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie Pie bounced along side Twilight Sparkle. The pink earth pony's fluffy mane and tail bouncing along with her every step. Twilight, a purple alicorn, walked causally as the friends made their way along the dirt pathway. There was another reason why Twilight had brought Pinkie along. Her sweet tooth would be great for helping Twilight to pick the perfect ingredients for making a delicious red velvet cake for Rarity's birthday. "Okay, Pinkie, we're here!" Twilight smiled, "I can't wait to begin." "Me neither!" Pinkie replied jumping up and down with excitement. "I'm sure Rarity's gonna love that red velvet cake!" Twilight nodded in agreement, "And with your help I'm sure it will be even better!" Pinkie had been giving Twilight some cooking lessons at Sugar Cube Corner for the past four months. Twilight soon learned that Pinkie was a pretty darn good cook and a very encouraging teacher. Even though Twilight messed up numerous times on her first few batches of cupcakes, Pinkie kept on encouraging her to keep trying until she finally got it right. The two them were standing in front of the largest candy shop in all of Ponyville, it was called The Candy Warehouse. It had large pink bricks on every wall with a yellow stripe going straight around the middle of the building. It had a large sign with "The Candy Warehouse" printed with a rainbow in the background. "Woo-ho! Let's go!" Pinkie cheered as she and Twilight passed through the entrance. Once they were inside the two mares were both spellbound when they saw isles of candy as far as the eye could see. Pinkie let out a squeal of delight as she and Twilight walked into the isle that housed the first item on the list, chocolate. "Okay, Pinkie, what kind of ..." the rest of Twilight's sentence was lost to Pinkie who was more interested in the five pound chocolate bar resting in front of her. Even more interesting was that she didn't see a price tag on it. "PINKIE!" Twilight snapped. "Whowhatwhenwherewhyhow!" Pinkie blurted in surprise. "Oh. Yes Twilight." Twilight did a face hoof, "I was trying to ask you what kind of chocolate is best for cooking with, dark, milk, or sugar free?" "Sugar free." Pinkie replied, "If you plan to add sugar any way, then go with sugar free so it's not too sweet." Twilight nodded, grabbed a bar of sugar free chocolate in a magic orb, and placed it in the basket. Pinkie, however, went back to staring at the "free" five pound chocolate bar. "Hey Twilight." Pinkie called, "I'll catch up to you in a minute." "Alright Pinkie." Twilight replied, "I'll be in the frosting isle." Once Twilight had left the isle Pinkie got a naughty grin on her face. Very carefully, she reached out, grabbed the giant chocolate bar, and then slipped it into her mane. A perfect fit. "Hey Pinkie," Twilight called from a couple isles down, "I could use your help again!" "I'm coming!" Pinkie sang as she trotted off to find Twilight. Unfortunately, Pinkie was gone before a small price tag fell to the ground from the chocolate bar behind the one she had grabbed. When Pinkie reached Twilight, she answered Twilight's question before she had chance to ask. "Lite blue frosting with edible glitter. So that it matches the colors of Rarity's cutie mark." "How did you know that I was going ask 'What kind of frosting'?" Twilight muttered looking mighty confused. "Just a hunch!" Pinkie replied. Then out of the corner of her eye Pinkie spotted yet another priceless item. More free candy! This place is amazing! Pinkie looked back at Twilight who was still looking for lite blue frosting with edible glitter. Pinkie crept over to the rack with the "free" candy on it. When she reached it, as quickly as she could, Pinkie grabbed it and shoved it into her hair. "Hey Pinkie, where did you see that frosting?" Twilight called. Pinkie jumped about two feet into the air. When she landed she quickly went over to Twilight and showed her the frosting. "Here you go!" Pinkie chirped, "Lite blue frosting with edible glitter, just like I said." "Thank you." Twilight replied with a proud grin, "If we keep this up we'll have all fifteen items on the list cleared in a half hour!" By the end of the shopping spree, Pinkie, had managed to pick up ten lollipops, five gumballs, some M&M's, and a few other things. Her mane was now two times it's original size, and had candy packets and sticks poking out of it, yet no pony seemed to notice anything strange about this. Pinkie stored stuff in her mane all the time, so it seemed natural for it to have things sticking out of it at every angle. "I think that's everything." Twilight muttered, "Let's see, chocolate, frosting, sugar, buttermilk..." Pinkie was once again lost in her own thoughts. This time it was because of how much candy she had manged to grab. Maybe it's not really free. The thought seemed to chase her like a timber wolf, Of course it is silly! Why wouldn't it be? Once Pinkie had cleared the thought Twilight motioned for her to come over. "Pinkie, could you come here please?" "Yes Twilight." Pinkie replied calmly as she tried to hide her worries from the alicorn. "It's time for us to be on our way." Twilight looked at her friend slowly before asking, "Are you okay Pinkie? You look kinda nervous and timid. Is there something bothering you? You know that you can tell me anything." "Oh it's nothing really." Pinkie blurted to try and clear up her case. "I was just wondering if Rarity will absolutely love the things that we have chosen." Twilight put her hoof gently around Pinkie's shoulder. "Don't worry." Twilight said. "If any pony can through a perfect party, it's you Pinkie." Pinkie smiled back at Twilight and the two mares made their way out of the candy store. Once they were about one block away, sneaky Pinkie pulled a lollipop out of her mane and began to eat it. Twilight didn't notice this until they came to a stop to allow other ponies to pass. "Pinkie," Twilight began as sweetly as she could, "Where did you get that lollipop?" Not like she needed to ask, Twilight knew very well where Pinkie had found that lollipop, she wanted to make sure that Pinkie knew where it had come from. Pinkie answered before she had a chance to think, "Oh, this? I found it without a price tag at The Candy Warehouse!" Pinkie then realized the huge mistake she had made, speaking before thinking, but it was too late. Twilight was already pushing her, forcefully, back to The Candy Warehouse. Once they were inside Twilight immediately went up to the checkout line with Pinkie at her side. A yellow pony with blue eyes and a pink and blue mane, styled to curls at the ends greeted them. "Well hello there. What can I do for you two." Twilight took one more look at Pinkie before she spoke, "Hello there miss um..." Twilight looked carefully at the pony's name tag. "Miss Bonbon. I have some very unpleasant news that I think you should know." Bonbon looked at Twilight, her eyes wide with worry. "Oh my Celestia! Is it something about the store? Should I go and get the manager?" She fretted as she tried to pinpoint Twilight's displeasure. "Nothing is wrong with the store," Twilight said quickly to try and get to the chase. "It's just that... Pinkie, here has been stealing candy!" Pinkie gasped in denial, "I have done NOTHING of the sort! How could you accuse me like Twilight!" "You told me that you did!" Twilight growled. "Tell her the truth!" At this Pinkie rolled her eyes and muttered, "Fine. I guess I did take a piece or so." Twilight, now even more infuriated, grabbed Pinkie's tail in a magical orb. "Hey! What are you doing!" Twilight didn't answer. Instead, she pulled Pinkie into the air and shook her up and down, with Pinkie screaming like she was on roller coaster the whole time. Whenever Twilight put Pinkie back on her hooves, there was a three foot high pile of candy laying on the ground in front of them. Pinkie was now red as a beet and on the floor sobbing, "Okay fine! I admit it! I took the candy!" Bonbon looked at the embarrassed pink pony who was in a sobbing fit of tears. "Why did you do it though?" She asked bluntly, "You should know that stealing IS illegal." Pinkie's tears were starting to dry out as she began to calm down. "I didn't see any price tags so I thought that they were free." She whispered. "Why were you so mad at an accident Twilight?" Twilight felt a pang of regret. "Yeah, that was a little harsh, wasn't it?" Pinkie nodded and then gave Twilight a big hug. "It's okay, I forgive you." Pinkie smiled guiltily, "Besides, I should have asked in the first place if all of that," she gestured towards the pile of candy, "was really free." Bonbon smiled slightly, "Well, thank you for returning these not purchased items, um... Do you want any of it still?" Pinkie thought about it for a minute. "There is one thing." She trotted over tho the candy pile and dug through it until she found that five pound chocolate bar. "It's this." Twilight smiled, and happily purchased the item for her friend, and at Rarity's birthday party it was split up between all of the ponies who attended the party.
