> Lost Memories and New Experiences > by Brony4life360 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darkness. That's all I see while I am laying face-first in the grass. All I can feel is the grass I am laying on, and the fresh air blowing across my body. I wonder where I am, because I don't remember falling asleep on a hill. I should be at my home in... I can't remember where my home is... Wait I can't remember anything! My eyes shoot open as I quickly push myself up. I have to squint as my vision gets assulted by the bright landscape. What the hell! Why can't I remember anything! "Wow," I say to myself out loud, "This is just fan-motherfucking-tastic. I can't remember anything, and I don't know where the hell I am. But hey, look at the bright side, at least the view is nice." Now taking a better look now that the countryside, I am amazed by the view! Soft hills stretch forever it seems. Their are majestic looking mountains in the distance, and looking closer at the mountains, I can see a city on the side of one of the mountains. I think to myself Is that even possible without it falling? I can't even think to know how the heck that thing is staying up there. Now abandoning that train of thought, I look for any sign of a nearby town. There! I say in my mind just as I spot a little town in the distance. Maybe I can get someone to help me! I start to walk twards the town when I trip over something. "Shit!" I yell as I try to keep myself from faceplanting. Looking at the object that I tripped over, I notice that there are three objects sitting in the grass. One looks to be a ball for some type of sport. The second object is just a small piece of oddly-shaped metal, and the last one is an unusual looking sword. Well, This is... Different. Maybe I should take these things with me.Looking down at my jeans and t-shirt, I see that I, somehow, have a sheath for the sword, and I can store the metal piece in one of my pockets. I will have to carry the ball in my arms though, unfortunately. Sliding the sword into its sheath, the metal piece into my pocket, and picking up the ball, I set off towards the town. I hear a quiet noise behind me, like the beating of some wings. I turn and see that there's nothing there, so I just shrug and keep heading towards the town. Now that I am closer to the town, some more features pop out to me. The first thing that stuck out to me was the style of housing. most buildings seemed to be made out of wood with thatched roofs. Odd, but if there is something that can help me here, I won't question it. Before I can shout out a call for help, I hear a soft whump right behind me. Startled, I quickly turn around and I find a... It's a cyan colored pony with a rainbow mane and wings. It has fucking wings. Yes thats right, that's the first thing that goes through my mind. This thing that looks roughly like a pony has wings. Also the fact that it is extremely brightly colored and has magenta eyes the size of dinner plates is well, pretty unnatural. What. The. Fuck. "Alright you... creature, you take one more step towards Ponyville and you will regret it." it growled. I observed that it spoke with a higher-pitched voice that was a little scratchie. Based off of this I could only assume it was a female. Wait, she just spoke perfect English. I was so shocked that I didn't even realise that I just remembered something from my past. "Hey!" she shouts, snapping me back to reality, "If you don't start talking right now I am going to kick your flank into next week!" Oh shit she seems pissed! I was freaking out because I didn't know what to do, so i did the only thing that my mind was telling me to do. Although it probably wasn't the best decision, I went and ran into the nearest forest. "Hey wa-" She tried to call me, but I was already in the forest. Not even slowing down, I was dodging trees left and right. After a little while,(felt like a few goddamn hours) I tripped on a vine and flew towards a huge tree. SHIIIIIT Apparently I had enough momentum to smash through that tree. And the other two behind it. "MOTHERFUCKER!" I scream in pain as I land. Suprisingly though, as I look at my body, there dosent seem to be much damage exept for a few bruises and small cuts. I also notice that I had left my ball at the place that I had started running from. Damn. Okay, so running full-speed into a unknown forest where it might be pretty dangerous was not a very good idea. Let's try to head back to the... awww SHIT. Where am I? Okay calm down. First of all was that a fucking pony back there!?! Are there more of their species? I sigh, then growl to myself in a low voice, "Well let's try to find that town again, even I have no idea what's going to happen it's probably better than this for-." I'm cut of by a chours of loud growls. Looking behind me, I see at least ten pairs of glowing green eyes. --------------------------------- Rainbow Dash was just having a regular day. She just woke up at six in the morning, went to her job at Ponyville's weather center, got her job done early, as always, and was just about to go out and practice some of her new tricks in the cool afternoon air. But today, she spotted soething pretty odd at the edge of her vision. What in the hay is that? She asks herself before slowly flying closer to the creature. It looked similar to a monkey, it had four limbs and seemed to be walking on only two of them. It seems to lack a fur coat, but has clothing over most of it's body. The only mane that it seems to have is at the very top of its head a short, light-brown mane. Silently flying closer, she can see that it dosent have and hooves, instead it has hands like Spike, just that the ends are rounded unlike Spike's claws. The one thing that really caught her eye though, was the sheath that held what looked like a sword. Now extremely worried, she tried to sneak up on it and tell it to go back home. But she saw it stop and start to turn, so she quickly flew up about ten feet to keep herself out of its sight. Looking back down at the weird creature, she glimpses it shruging and continuing on it's route. She lets out a breath of relief and tries to look ahead towards its destination. Oh buck. Her eyes widen and her heart leaps into her throat, it was going directly towards Ponyville! Oh Celestia what do I do! She screams silently before she regains her composure, after all she is the most awesome pony in Equestria. She could definetaly stop this weird creature, whatever it was. She quickly bolts down to the ground behind the creature, "Alright you... creature, you take one more step towards Ponyville and you will regret it." Okay, if I keep this up, I can probably can lead it away from town. As the creature turns around, she gets a good look at its face. It had no real muzzle, it was round and pretty flat all around. The thing that really got her attention though, was its eyes. They acted kind of like her mane exept if you moved your head only slightly, its eyes changed colors. It looked at her with one kind of expression she didn't think she would see off of the creature, bewilderment. It was like the creature had never even seen a pony before! Enough of that! Let's see if I can get it away from town. She waits a little bit for the creature to speak, but her patience had run out "Hey!" she shouts, "If you don't start talking right now I am going to kick your flank into next week!" Now she sees that that last little bit was too much as the creature started to twitch and fidget, obviously terrified. Crap. Rainbow Dash thought. She didn't want to terrify it, she just wanted to lead it away. But before she could say anything else, the creature was allready sprinting in the direction of the Everfree Forest. "Hey wait, come back!" She yells, but there was no way it could have heard her. Now nearing panic levels, Rainbow thought to try and go after the creature, but there was no way she was going to step into that forest alone. And aswell, she probably couldn't track it if she tried. Rainbow now realised that she had one option left. Flying as quick as she could into Ponyville, there was only one pony that could help her get that creature out of the forest. Twilight > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Twilight, have to find Twilight, gotta find her. Please tell me she's in her castle..." Rainbow was rambling as she raced across Ponyville to find the one pony that could help her, Twilight Sparkle. As she busts through the entrance to Twilight's new castle, she notices that all her friends were there. Standing on one side of the huge room Applejack and Rarity seemed to be having an argument over something, probably something about dresses or something happening in Sweet Apple Acres. Spike was nowhere to be found, probably taking a nap or something. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were sitting in the center of the room, and seemed to be talking about something, but turned their heads as soon as Rainbow had entered the room. "Hey Rainbow." both of them said, almost in sync, but Rainbow ignored them and kept searching for her target. After a few seconds of looking, Rainbow finally spotted Twilight in the back of the room reading a book. Still an egghead like always. Rainbow thought before racing straight towards the alicorn. "Twilight," Rainbow shouts, startling Twilight a little, "IreallyneedyourhelpcausetherewasthisweirdcreaturethatIsawwhenIwasabouttopracticesomeofmystuntssoIgotcuriousandIstartedtofollowitandthenIsawithadaswordandIstartedtofreakwhenIsawitandnowitsranintotheEverfreean-" Rainbow was abruptly cut off by a lavender hoof. "Okay, Rainbow, calm down. Then when you're calmed down tell us what exactly happened." Rainbow, now cut off from he rant, takes a look around at her friends worried faces. Taking a deep breath, Rainbow sighed, "Okay, you might think that I am making this up, but I swear to Celestia's mighty beard that I am not." Rainbow looks into each of her friends eyes, making sure they know how deadly serious she was. "Alright, you all might want to sit down for a few minutes." ------------------------- (About 20 minutes later) As rainbow Dash finishes her story, a mix of different emotions quickly com over It takes a couple of minutes for every one of her friends to finally say something. "Well, that was certainly... Different." Twilight observed. "Yes, that was certainly a most perplexing story Rainbow." Rarity commented. "I wonder if it likes cake?" Pinkie mumble to herself. "Well, I have to say Dash, that's a 'mite different than what yer stories usually are." Applejack says, still completely dumbfounded by the story. "Oh gosh, we have to help that poor thing, it might get hurt in the Everfree Forest. We should go and help it." Fluttershy manages to squeak out. After a few more minutes of silence, Rainbow speaks up. "I agree with Fluttershy," Rainbow stomps her hoof, eyes gleaming with determination, "I saw the fear in its eyes, it was absolutely, and I couldn't forgive myself if it got hurt." "Now wait jus' a minute Rainbow. Why are you worried about that thing? I mean, you already said that it looked dangerous. Hay, you even said that it even had a weapon!" Applejack "Okay I know that it had a weapon Applejack, it just... When it turned around, just... sigh I don't know, okay? I just have a feeling that now that I accidentally scared it off, we should go and help it." All of Rainbow's friends nodded at her statement. Applejack just sighed and relented just a little but. "Why are yall going with this, ah mean thin thin' could be deadly for all we know!" "Applejack, I know that you are worried, but that creature is absolutely terrified and it might be in danger. I have to go and help it." Fluttershy reassures Applejack, while Pinkie and Rarity nod in approval. Twilight also speaks up, "Also I have never heard of a creature like this, so this would be a great opportunity to study it!" After all her friends, Applejack finally gives up, "Alright, I'll go, but don't think that I'll be trustin' that creature anytime soon." "Alright!" Rainbow shouts, flying towards the door, "Lets go!" "But Rainbow, we don't know where it's gone!" Twilight said, confused. "Twilight, you do have tracking spells, right?" Rainbow asked, a bit annoyed by the question. Twilight blushes a little, "Oh, right." She squeaks out. "Well then, we better get going!" Rainbow shouts as all her friends are running after her. I hope that it's not to late. ----------------------------------------- Back in the Everfree Forest Looking straight at all ten pairs of eyes, the human could only think one thing. God if you are there, please, come out so I can punch you in the dick for constantly FUCKING ME! But, just as he starts to back away in fear, one of the creatures steps out into the light, and that's what truly shocked him. His face contorted into a look of absolute disbelief and frustration. Really, REALLY!?!?!? The pony I can handle. Or at least I think I can. But this! It's a fucking wolf made of wood! That's just. Not. Ah screw it, it's not like anything else I've seen makes any goddamn sense. Okay, I can't be sidetracked, these things are obviously going to attack. Thank the god-like-entities of this world that I have this sword. Oh, I don't have any experience with a sword... Well it cant be that hard, right? You just go swish-swish-stab right? After his little freak-out, he noticed that he had gotten surrounded. Looking for a way out, he found none, putting a hand on the hilt of his sword, he waited for the creatures to attack. He heard a snarling from behind as one of the wolf-things pounced. His body took control and immediately unsheathed his sword and swung with an upward strike. The wolf got split in half by the force of the strike, spraying splinters into the man's eyes, blinding him. While he was blinded, two more wolves pounced at the man. Effectively clearing the wood out of his eyes, he sees the other two wolves darting at him. He tried to dodge them both, but one bit him on his sword arm, right above the wrist. "DAMN IT!" he screams in pain, dropping his sword. Seeing the other wolf coming after him, he manages to dislodge the wolf that bit into his arm, and gave a devastating axe kick straight into its head. That wolf moved no more, and the other one backed off, limping slightly. The man looked for his sword and found a slightly bigger wolf crouching over it. Out of the corner of his eye he saw three more coming at him from his left. turning, he gave one a vicious uppercut as it lept towards his face, and though he was strong, he was still amazed when he saw the wolf's body go sailing above the trees, screeching as it fell back down to the ground. He looked back at his hand. His knuckles were bleeding and He turned back to the other two wolves and snatched them both from the air as they leaped at him. He grabbed them by the back of their heads and slammed them together with all his might. When he heard both heads crack and splinter, he felt some grim satisfaction. He never liked to kill anything, but if he had to, or was provoked enough, he would do it in a heartbeat. He looked back at the remaining four wolves, when he heard something, it sounded a lot like. Horses? No, that would be ridiculous, until he heard a gasp. He turned around, and saw the blue pony again, but now she had friends. Five of them to be exact. And each of them were just as unusual as the rainbow-colored one. Then he saw the looks on their faces, which ranged from fear, to disgust, then to amazement. Before he could say anything, though, he felt some claws ripping through his back, and felt a pair of jaws clamp onto his shoulder, right next to his neck. "FUCK!" he screamed, ripping the wolf that bit into his shoulder, which took a chunk of his shoulder with it. Taking the wolf by the head, he snapped its neck. Fueled by adrenaline and rage alone, he went and screamed at the other wolves, "DIE YOU PIECES OF SHIT!" and ran at them. The next thing he could remember was him standing over the dead bodies of the wolves. Bleeding heavily, and exhausted, he barely notices the yellow pony walking up to him. "Oh gosh, are you... um... okay?" It squeaks out. Obviously it was completely terrified of him. "Yeah... just let me catch my breath while I slowly bleed to death, I mean do I look anywhere near fucking okay to you?" He replies sarcastically before he remembers what he just spoke to. "Wait a minute, can you understand me?" He asks the pony. Every single one of the ponies nod at him. "Well... that's... okay I'm not even going to question that right now, because so far nothing in this world make a god damn bit of sense." After he finishes his rant, he feels a sudden pain in his back. He had forgotten his injuries, and now they were making a reappearance. Stumbling forward he see that there was a worried look on the ponies faces, and the yellow one in front of him still had that terrified expression on its face. "Hey could you all do me a favor please?" He asked politely. "Sure!" The yellow one replied a little too quickly. "Okay so I need you to come over here," he pointed to the ground right next to him," can you do that?" "O-okay," she mutters as she steps to where he indicated, "what do I do now?" "Catch me." He says as he passes out. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The five friends were at the location where the creature had ran off into the Everfree, all looking at a particular object that the creature must have dropped. It confused all of them, because it was one normal object that they saw on a regular basis, a soccer ball. Twilight and Rainbow were arguing about what to do next while the others were waiting quietly. "Rainbow, are you sure this is what the creature was carrying this when you saw it?" "Oh, for Celestia's sake Twilight. Why would there be a soccer ball right in front of the forest. It has to be the thing's ball, I know it." "Well, if your so sure, I'll give it a try. But why would a creature have a soccer ball with it?" "Hay if I know Twilight, but you should do the tracking spell, and then we can find the damn thing!" "Alright Rainbow give me a second, this should give us a pretty good idea of where it is." Twilight said as she was lowering her horn to the ball, her horn aglow with her magic. As soon as her horn touched, a bright flash enveloped the ball and her eyes. Twilight now could see lavender prints heading into the forest. "Alright, the spell worked, lets leave the ball and go." Twilight says to the group. Then they travel into the Everfree. ------------------------------------- (A little while later) "Twilight, we've been trav'lin for at least an hour now, maybe we should just give up." groaned Applejack. "If we haven't found it after this long, it's prob'ly already dead." "No, we will not give up." Twilight argued, "Until the tracks end, or I see the... body, I will not give u-." They were cut off by a loud shriek coming from ahead of them. Rainbow, instantly flies up through the trees and takes a look ahead of them. Rainbow sees something flying up over some trees, and it looks a little familiar. As the object flies through the air in her direction, it starts to fall back to the ground, and Rainbow finally gets a good look at what the object is. Shock rips through her body like lightning as she realizes that the object is a timberwolf. She flew back down to her friends, shock evident on her face. "I think I know where the creature's at, and it seems that it might be in some trouble." Her friends faces contort into faces of fear and anxiety, until Pinkie Pie gives everypony a big smile. "Lets go, sillies. We can't help if we aren't there yet!" She proclaims, starting to run in the direction of the noise.M "Pinkie's right, lets go" Twilight says, while giving everyone a confident smile as the bolt after Pinkie. As they get closer to the noise, they can see some damage to the trees in front of them. Dents, like somepony had clipped the trees while running at top speed. Some broken branches strewn along the grown. They finally saw a sight that made them take a second look. There were three trees that had been completely smashed apart, their top halves on the ground next to them. "Buck me! That creature must be strong!" Rainbow whispers, not knowing that all her friends are thinking the exact same thing. They were all entranced by the sight of all the demolished trees, that they all just stopped and stared. That was, until a loud growl snapped them back into reality and they all bolted in the direction of the noise. They were nearing the noise and eventually broke through the forest into a clearing, and that's when they all saw it. All of them, save for Rainbow, gasped in shock when they saw it. The creature was unlike anything they had ever seen. It stood about six feet tall, was bipedal, and had no mane except for the top of it's head. It also didn't have any hooves, only little claws, like Spike, only they were dull. It was, by far, the weirdest looking creature they had ever seen. They also noticed all the timberwolves bodies next to it, so it seemed that it was completely capable of defending itself. It must have heard them gasp, because it had turned around and looked at them. They now got a good look at it's face, but what really caught all of their eyes was the eyes of the creature. it had eyes that showed the entire spectrum of the rainbow, and seemed to change colors if the eyes moved slightly. In the eyes, they also could clearly see it's emotions. At first they saw confusion, it quickly became disbelief and recognition as it spotted Rainbow. After a few seconds, the timberwolves attacked the creature from behind. All the girls looked on in horror, they had forgotten the wolves, just like the creature, apparently. There were two wolves that attacked it, one bit into it's shoulder, near the neck. The other had gotten down and raked its claws against the creatures back. They looked on in shock as the creature let out a scream, "FUCK!" They all backed up at the ferocity of the yell, while they saw the creature rip the timberwolf off of its shoulder and snapped its neck. All the girls, except for Fluttershy, were now watching in shock as the creature turned towards the rest of the timberwolves. They could feel the rage coming off of the creature in waves, as it screamed, "DIE YOU PIECES OF SHIT!" and ran at them. They all watched, except for Fluttershy, in amazement as the creature kicked one of the timberwolves into the ground, completely shattering its torso. After he had killed that one, he grabbed another one and slammed its head into a tree, once, twice, three times. It kept going until the head had a crack running through it, and that the body no longer moved. Everything in the clearing stopped as soon as the creature dropped the body. "You want some more?" It whispered to the rest of the pack, which immediately bolted back into the woods. All of the ponies had stopped and stared. All of them had different looks adorning their faces, but after a minute, it was Fluttershy who went and tried to talk with the creature. "Oh gosh, are you... um... okay?" She squeaks out. Obviously she was completely terrified of it. but for good reason, it had just taken out an entire timberwolf pack by itself, but it still needed help, with its wounds bleeding furiously. The creature turned back around, shock rip piling through its face for a second before it became a face of oh-shit-I-forgot-that-those-things-were-there. "Yeah... just let me catch my breath while I slowly bleed to death, I mean do I look anywhere near fucking okay to you?" It replies sarcastically before it seems to remember what it just spoke to, expressing just as much shock that all of the girls were. "Wait a minute, can you understand me?" It asks Fluttershy. Every single one of the ponies nod at him. "Well... that's... okay I'm not even going to question that right now, because so far nothing in this world make a god damn bit of sense." After it finishes talking, it stumbles forward, face etched with pain. Rainbow and her friends all now became worried about this creature, and by its low toned voice it was a male, but before they could do anything, he spoke again. "Hey could you all do me a favor please?" He asked politely. "Sure!" Fluttershy replied a little too quickly. Still skeptical about the creature. "Okay so I need you to come over here," he pointed to the ground right next to him," can you do that?" "O-okay," she mutters as she steps to where he indicated, "What do I do now?" "Catch me." He says as he collapses, and, Fluttershy being too scared at that moment, didn't catch him. He hit his head on a rock, which created another gash in his forehead and might have given him a minor concussion. Everypony stood there shocked before Fluttershy spoke up, "Twilight, he is losing blood right now and is pretty badly hurt. Can you teleport us to the hospital?" Fluttershy didn't need to ask twice as Twilight's horn started to glow with her magic as she teleported every pony back to Ponyville's Hospital. > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow was pacing across the creature's hospital room. She had been doing so for hours. It had been two days since Twilight and the others had brought him to this hospital, and he still hadn't woken up. Rainbow had stayed with him the whole time. She felt responsible for his injuries, and it felt wrong to leave his side while he was laying in the hospital bed. She rarely left the room, only to eat, drink, and use the restroom. Rainbow felt that she had to make this right with the creature, no matter what. Rainbow was pacing the room impatiently, again, on the third day of the creatures arrival to the hospital. In deep thought, she did not notice the groan of the creature waking, so she kept on pacing, muttering to herself. The man, now fully awake and confused, sat up suddenly. Rainbow, not noticing any of his other movements, screamed, "What the buck!" as she proceeded to jump to the other end of the room. Rubbing his eyes multiple times to make sure he was seeing things right, slowly lowered his hands and said to himself, "Are you fucking kidding me?" Now that he was fully awake, he noticed that he was in a hospital room. He was clothed in hospital drab, hooked up to some machines, and apparently had some type of operation on his back. Now thinking back to it, he could remember the timberwolves, and trying to get to the town, but he could not remember how he got to this world. He also could remember the rainbow mare in front of him. She was the one who told him off when he was heading to the town, but she was also one of the ponies that was there in the forest. Is she following me? He wondered. "So, you seem to be following me around, any real reason for that?" he inquired. Rainbow did not hear the creature speak, she was too busy looking at its eyes. Those eyes were captivating for her, they were hard and suspicious, yet there seemed to be a warm kind of glow behind it. She could also see that the creature was highly intelligent just from seeing the raw emotion radiating from it's gaze. Also the color of the eyes were absolutely breathtaking. Instead of the eyes being one defined color, they were colored like she just did a miniature rainboom through each pupil. All the colors of the rainbow shined brightly in those eyes. Rainbow was finally drawn back out of her trance when the creature screamed "Hello, can you hear me!" Turning her attention away from it's eyes she looked at it's face. It breathed a sigh of relief as it saw her snap out of her trance. "Finally, took you long enough! So, can you understand me?" Rainbow took note of it's voice. It had a pretty deep voice, about like Big Mac's voice deep, but it was scratchy, as if had been through a lot of screaming matches. "Y-y-yea." Rainbow replied weekly. What in the hay was that! Get it together Rainbow, he seems friendly enough. The man immediately slouched down into a relaxed position, grinning all the while. "Good! So, where exact-a-fu-ck-in-ly am I?" "You are in Ponyville Medical." "Okay, now that I know where I am, who are you?" "How have you not heard of me? I am The Rainbow Dash. Fastest flier out of Cloudsdale! I am also one of the Elements of Harmony with my friends Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Fluttershy! You must be new around here to not have heard of me." Rainbow Dash, Ponyville, Cloudsdale, the Elements of Harmony. Every time he heard another name, he felt a tug in his mind, like he could remember those things, but there was something blocking it. He decided to ask about it later. He was about to ask her another question when she suddenly blurted out, "Well, enough about me, what's your name?" The man tried to remember his name, but he couldn't think of what it was. He pushed and tried to remember, but it wasn't coming. Just when he decided to give up on the search, he thought of something. He thought of a name that his friends and family used to call him, or at least that's what he thought. Rainbow, intently watching his face intently, was feeling a bit worried. She saw his face contort between extreme concentration, and then into anguish and sadness. She was about to speak up when his face brightened and he looked her directly in the eyes and said, "Bear. That's my name, or at least a nickname, that everyone use to call me. At least I think it is, I can't remember jack shit for anything else. So, I can't help you with any of your other questions." Rainbow couldn't respond. Really, she thought, he's lost his memory? That must be horrible! "It's kind of weird though," Bear said, "It feels like I would be able to, but there's something blocking me from remembering." "Wow, that is pretty weird." Rainbow responded with a bright smile enveloping her face, "But I might have a solution to it, I have an alicorn friend named Twilight-" "She's the purple one right?" "Yea she is, and I could ask her to find out a spell to get your memories back!" Bear sat up straighter, smiling, while his eyes lit up with excitement. "Really, she can do that!" "Yep, so you want me to get her for you Bear?" Now his face falls into a deadpan expression. "Nooooo, Rainbow, I don't want Twilight to find a spell to get my memories back." Bear says with obvious sarcasm, "Of course I want you to get here!" He practically screamed. "Got it. I'll be back tomorrow with Twilight if we find the spell. Would that be alright?" "Yea, that would be cool. Wait, could you also bring all my things that I came with and my clothes?" "Sure!" "Thanks, Rainbow. I will see you tomorrow." Rainbow immediately opened the door after his confirmation and left to find Twilight. Celestia was in her personal study area, extremely focused on the scrolls levitating by her head. She had noticed a massive magic flux had caught her attention. It was a familiar type of magic surge and she was desperately trying to see where the epicenter was located. Celestia was extremely worried. It was different this time, I can't track it this time! What if this one kills even more before I find it? That magic trace, it was a creature Celestia thought was long-gone. A creature filled with hate and violence. Celestia was abruptly interrupted by a scroll popping into existence right in front of her face. Dear Princess Celestia, I know I haven't written a lot in the past few weeks, but the reason that I am writing this letter is of the upmost importance. There was a creature that was found by Rainbow Dash outside of Ponyville a few days ago. I hadn't written to you about it because shortly after Rainbow encountered it, it ran into the Everfree forest. Rainbow came to us in hopes of tracking it down, so after an hour of tracking it through the Everfree, we found it. When we found him in the forest, he had already literally obliterated most of a timberwolf pack. He stopped and looked at us when we came within view, and that's when a couple of wolves attacked him from behind. One cut open his back, while another bit his shoulder. He then proceeded to scream and smash the timberwolves into splinters! I am slightly scared of this thing, it calls itself 'Bear' and he is definitely a male. He is bipedal, has no fur except for the top of his head, and a flat face. He doesn't even have hooves, he has these little claws like spike, but they are dull. After that he passed out and we took him to the hospital. He had three objects with him. A soccer ball, a sword, and what I have inferred to be the mouthpiece of an instrument. I don't know what to do Princess, but it also seems that Bear has lost his memory, I am going tomorrow with Rainbow to see if we can restore it. Rainbow seems to say that Bear is a pretty nice guy, but I'm not so sure. Wish me luck, Twilight Sparkle Celestia was horrified. The flux of magic had to be near Ponyville, and it had brought a human into Ponyville. Twilight and her friends could be in danger! She was having flashbacks to three different incidents similar to this. Years before Equestria became as diverse as it was, there were two different magical fluxes that had been located a small town of farm ponies. When she went to investigate what the magical disturbances were, when she found two of these humans. What she found there terrified her. The two humans had massacred the ponies. They cut them dawn and defiled the bodies. Celestia went into the town, and saw how they had strung the ponies' entrails along the ground, put their heads on pikes, and when she got to the humans they were wearing the skin of all the ponies that they killed. She was paralyzed with dear as they turned and almost carved her up, but her fear turned to fury and she killed both of them. But she could feel the magic radiating off of them. It was a magic she had long forgotten. Hatred. That had scarred Celestia for all her life, but there was a third incident like this, but a lot more recent. By the time she had tracked down the human this time, it had killed two apple farmers... They were Applejack's parents. She had never told the Apple family about this incident. It would scar them all. This time though, it seemed a little different. This human hadn't immediately killed whatever he got close to, and he actually talked to a pony! I am going to have a chat with this 'Bear', and we'll see if he is indeed friendly. She thought as she teleported to Ponyville. Bear was woken up suddenly from his slumber by a loud pop right next to his hospital bed. Turning quickly, he was facing a huge, white alicorn. He sits A little irritated at being woken up so suddenly, Bear says, "So, who would you be to wake me up in the middle of my fuckin' nap?" Celestia, a little taken aback by the human's, no, his name is Bear, initial greeting replied, "Hello, Bear I am Princess Celestia, co-ruler of Equestria." I still have to be careful. Who knows if he is only acting friendly so that he can get to me! Suddenly awake at the mention of 'Princess', Bear sits up, "And why would a princess be here to see me?" Celestia fakes a smile, a little curious at the way Bear was acting, still she had to be cautious. "To hopefully get a little information out of you, and to see you're not a threat to my ponies." Bear, still a little confused, replies, "Well, you see there's a little problem with giving you all that information... I lost my memory-waitaminute how did you know that I was here?" Celestia was not expecting this, a human that actually that was having a conversation with her. She responds, "Well, Twilight sends me letters every so often, and when she sent me a letter pertaining to you, I had to come and see for myself!" Bear could sense the underlying tension in her words. "Really? I guess that works. So are you supposed to be an all-powerful god or something, because I don't think you came for just a little check-up." Celestia wasn't going to give him any ideas, so she just stuck with the topic of his memory, hoping to distract him from the topic of her past with humans. "I wanted to see if I could help with your memory loss." Bear was not totally convinced, but went with it anyways. "Cool, you're here to help. So, how are we going to this?" "Well, first of all, when you try to remember something, what does it feel like?" "It feels like there is something blocking me, like a veil over my memories that I can't push through." Celestia sat down, a focused expression on her face. "Alright I have a spell in mind, but I will need all the things that you came into this world with, and we will also need Twilight here." "Alright, I can get behind that, but why do we need these things?" "Well, I would need the objects that you had with you, because they could have a connection to the magic that sent you here. That would make it easier to identify the magic and be able to 'lift the veil' off of your memories." Bear nodded in understanding, "Yea, that makes sense, but why do we need Twilight here for this?" "She needs to be here, because when I release your memories, they are going to be in a jumbled mess. Magically speaking of course, but your memories will be sent to Twilight to unscramble them, then be sent back to me so that I can clear away any extra magic that may leave any lapses in your memory that weren't meant to be there." Celestia lied. " I don't actually need her here for the spell, I just want her to be there to keep him contained anything goes wrong or Bear goes crazy. "Alright, so since we just now have to wait for Twilight and Rainbow to get here, how about you answer some of my questions." "Alright." After about an hour of Bear asking a whole slew of questions, ranging from 'How are you the co-ruler of Equestria' to 'What's that mark on your ass?' Twilight and Rainbow finally came into the room. Twilight instantly saw the Princess and ran up to her. "Hey Celestia! I didn't know that you were coming! Actually, why are you here exactly?" Celestia turned away from Bear, who flops down on the bed trying to digest all the new information, and looked at Twilight, a huge smile plastered on her face. "Well hello Twilight! It is nice to see you here, oh and the same goes to you Rainbow Dash. As for the reason I am here, I am here to help you with the memory spell for Bear over here." She says with a tense undertone that both Twilight and Rainbow picked up on. Twilight's face fell, "But, Celestia, the spell only requires one unicorn--" "I will be here to supervise, because it is a pretty complicated spell..." Celestia quickly interrupts, starting to sweat a little. Both Twilight and Rainbow Dash look at each other, knowing something was up. "Uhhh, Princess?" Rainbow says. "Yes, Rainbow Dash?" "Is there something wrong? Did Bear do something, because your sounding a little stressed." Celestia sighed, knowing that she better tell the two ponies about what she was planning on doing. "Alright girls, please come with me. I need to tell you something before we begin." Celestia turns to Bear, "We're going to be stepping out for a moment, we will be right back." "Bear just sit's up and half-mumbles to them, "Alright, that's cool. I'll be right here when ya get back." But as soon as the ponies walk out of the door, Bear thinks to himself, I have a really bad feeling about this. > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bears POV I was putting my clothes on, getting myself off the hospital equipment, and getting my three things together while Celestia and the girls discussed... Whatever the hell Celestia wanted to talk to them about. I didn't trust Celestia on this plan. I can't tell you why, but I just had this feeling while she was discussing the plan. I could literally feel the tension that she was feeling for me. I don't know why she was so nervous when she was talking to me or about me. I wasn't able to finish my train of thought before Celestia and Twilight came back into the room. From what I could see, Rainbow looked pissed, Twilight looked both skeptical and terrified, and then there was Celestia. Celestia had the biggest fake smile on her face like I was a royal guest but I had just punched her grandma, or something like that. Either way, they had come back into the room, and I was ready to get my memories back. "Well now that your all here, lets get started!" I say to all three of them. Celestia just continues to smile at me, "Alright Bear, we'll get started, but just one thing," Her smile melts and she looks at me with a serious expression, "when we perform this spell, I will be able to see all your memories. Everything that has happened to you, all of your decisions I will be able to see. Are you alright with that?" I think about that while Celestia walks over and sits down next to Twilight. For some reason, Rainbow was giving Celestia the stink-eye the whole time. I'll have to ask her about that, but either way, Celestia's little warning. If I can't remember in the first place, it's not like I have much of a choice. "Alright Celestia, I'm cool with you seeing all of my memories, ya'know, 'cause I can't remember them anyways." I say with a goofy smile plastered on my face. Celestia sighed and looked directly at me, "Alright, Twilight come over here. Rainbow Dash, could you please go sit down, please? I don't know what might happen." Rainbow grunted, once again giving Celestia a nasty look. Okay, what the fuck did Celestia do to make Rainbow pissed at her? Either way, Celestia and Twilight took their positions, and gave each other a brief nod. "Are you sure you're ready for this Bear?" Celestia asks me. My patience had run out at that point, so I snapped back, "Just fucking do it Celestia!" Celestia backed up quickly when I snapped, taking a defensive stance. Why would she take a defensive stance though? It's like she expected me to attack her. "Sorry, sorry, I am just a little exited at the prospect of getting my memories back, okay? I'm sorry about snapping at you." I say apologetically. Celestia calms down a little bit, but she still seems a little wary, keeping her distance. "Alright Twilight, are you ready to do this?" Celestia said, turning her head towards Twilight. "I'm ready." Twilight replied with a confident, yet worried, smile. I wonder why she's worried? Celestia stands in front of me, and Twilight stands off to my left, next to the door. Celestia's horn becomes bathed in a golden hue and all of a sudden my vision gets that golden hue around the edges. I look towards Rainbow, who is now sitting down across the room. When she makes eye contact with me, she gives me a look that scares me. It's a look that makes me feel that she is already looking at my dead corpse, with her sad and depressed look on her face. Before I can even react, my vision cuts out. All I can see is black, and I can't move. It stays that way for what feels like an eternity, then I can see a light. Before I can register what the light might have been, my memories start to flood into my mind. All of the pain from my childhood, my sadness of being alone for so long. The happiness of meeting my first friend, my career as a musician, and then the pain of the day that it was all taken away from me. The guilt of all the people I had... killed. Day that I found Mlp, the day I became a brony. The day that the strange man who offered me to go to Equestria. The magic that man had given me. What he had told me to do with my powers. The things that he had shown me, those things that the people that had traveled before me had done to the poor ponies. My refusal, him taking me away to Equestria. Me waking up in Equestria with my memories gone. It all came back to me. When I woke up, Celestia was in a corner, eyes red from crying, and a saddened look on her face. Twilight was huddled next to her, trying to cheer her up. Rainbow was looking at them both, a shocked expression on her face, probably from Celestia's reaction. Until she shot up when she had saw that I had woken up. "Bear!" She screamed, while leaping across the room to give me a bear hug. Huh, ironic. Either way I hugged Rainbow back. "What happened?" I asked Rainbow. "I don't know!" Rainbow replies, "She was performing the spell, and then all of a sudden she starts to cry! She was muttering something after she had finished the spell, but I couldn't hear it." I look over to Celestia, with Twilight next to her, trying to comfort her. I had to ask her if I would be allowed to live in Equestria. She knows that there is nothing left for me anywhere. I can't go back to Earth, but I might have a chance to have a normal life in Equestria. I walk over to Celestia, watching as her gaze slowly comes up to my face. "What do you want, you monster." Celestia coldly asks me. Monster. That was one name that I have always been referred as. It always hurt, but I never have shown it. It was a display of weakness, and with what I had to go through, I could never show any weakness. But, with what she saw in my memories, I can't blame her for calling me one. "I may be a monster, Celestia, but I will never hurt any of your subjects. I swear that on my life. I will even be a personal guard to Princess Twilight Sparkle over here if it means that I might be able to have a peaceful life here in Equestria." Celestia, standing up now and regarding me closely. It looked like her gaze was burrowing into my soul. It was kind of unnerving, but I held her stare. "I will no-" Celestia started to say. "I will take him as my guard." Twilight interrupted. Celestia was taken aback by this, "But Twilight, his kind is dangerous! He cannot be trusted!" Why would Twilight help me? I have done nothing for her, hell I don't even trust myself sometimes! Why would she help me? "I want to give him a chance Celestia, my judgment isn't clouded with precedents of others of his species. I think that he should at least have a chance to prove himself." I take a step closer to Celestia, and kneel on one knee, bowing my head. "I swear to you Celestia, I will protect your subjects with my life, and I will never intentionally hurt one of them." Right after I had said this oath, my entire body became bathed in a deep purple aura. I stood, alarmed as Twilight, Celestia, and Rainbow backed away from me. I turned to look around the room, and I saw the three things that I came into this world with bathed in the same aura. I look at them and realize hat all three items, my mouthpiece for my instrument, my soccer ball and my sword. They had all been absorbed, or some shit into my sword. All of a sudden, my sword started floating towards me. I stood there, transfixed as it stopped a few feet in front of me. I looked at Celestia, and the others, when Rainbow screamed out, "Bear, look out!" I turned back to look at my sword, and it was already hilt-deep into my gut. All my senses went into overload, and I could hear Rainbow and Twilight screaming behind me, but I felt no pain. I watched as the sword entered my gut, and with a flash, runes stretched up my arms and down my legs. I was freaking out at that point. "Celestia what the actual fuck just happened." I worryingly asked Celestia, while all of them were staring at me, wide-eyed and open mouthed. Celestia was the first to recover, "I think that when you made the oath, your inner magic, in the form of that sword activated. It responded with your oath to protect the ponies of Equestria. Now you can use your magic!" I remember how my magic works. I have to mentally form a weapon in my mind, and the runes on my body will activate and form the weapon in my hands. It takes extreme concentration to form a weapon, and it helps if you are familiar with the weapon and how it works. "Nice!" I yell, going to the center of the room. Turning back to the trio, I warn them, "Stand back, I don't want to hurt you." I concentrate, thinking about the one weapon that I was most familiar with. I feel the runes running across my body start to activate. I can feel like the magic surging through my body like an electric shock. I watched as the runes on my hands started to glow and start to pour out my magic. The magic slowly formed into my weapon, a six-foot scythe with a two-foot wide blade that has a four-foot long curved blade. I turned and looked back towards the trio, Celestia looked a little defensive, raising her wings and lowering her horn. The other two were looking at me in complete disbelief. I looked at them and decided to have a little fun. I knelt down on one knee, scythe by my side. "Princess Twilight Sparkle, I swear to you that I will protect all of Ponyville with my life." Twilight's eyes refocused on me, and Celestia looked to be pretty pleased with my wording. Grinning, though, I continue, "With my trusty scythe by my side, I will make sure that all enemies will be," Celestia, Twilight, and now Rainbow were all looking at me with huge grins on their faces, " completely and royally fucked." Celestia and Twilight's smiles fell, while Rainbow was laughing her ass off. I dissolve the scythe and turn towards Twilight, "So," I ask, "where am I going to stay while I am here?" Twilight seems to ponder this for a second. "You could stay at my castle!" "Alright then lets go!" I say as I head towards the door. "Wait!" Twilight yells, "You can't leave yet!" I smile evilly, "Well okay then, I'll wait." Rainbow looks at me worriedly, "Bear, what's with the creepy smile?" I turn my gaze towards Rainbow, "Well you see Rainbow, I don't follow rules very well. Way back when, in my world, my friends use to compare me to Pinkie Pie, because I do a lot of random and insane shit." "Wait," Twilight interrupted, "How do you know about Pinkie Pie?" "Later, I will answer all your questions at the castle. Also, bring your friends too. I would like to meet the ponies who saved my life. I'll see you at the castle." All three of them turned to give me odd looks. "What do you mean by 'meet us at the castle?" Rainbow and Twilight said while Celestia just stood there staring. I back up towards them. I lean back and shout, "See ya later fuckers!" I break into a dead sprint towards the window and break through it to the outside world. While I do that I hear Rainbow yell, "He's bucking insane!" Laughing as I go through the window shoulder first. I smile and think as I start falling to the ground. Today's going to be a good day > Chapter 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ah, it was great to feel fresh air on my face again. The feeling of falling, and all the wind rushing pas-OH SHIT. Ah the feeling of landing face-first on the ground. The feel of grass on my face. The pain lancing across the front of my body, while the stitches on my back protested my landing. The worried voice of Rainbow behind me-wait. "Bear! Are you alright?" asked Rainbow, her voice filled with worry. I slowly got up onto my feet, and looked at Rainbow. "Yea, I'm good." I replied while I was still crying from the hit on my nose. I look back up at the window that I had just jumped out of. The window on the second floor had broken when I jumped out. Well, that explains why I wasn't ready for the landing. The only time I jumped out of buildings was when I was on the third floor at least. I turn back to look around and see if I can spot the castle. But I am stopped suddenly when I hear a screech of excitement. I whip my head around to look at the source of the sound, and to my surprise I found it quite quick. All I heard was Rainbow look behind me, say, "Lyra do-" and when I turned, my vision became one blotch of mint green fur. "Whu thu fuch!" I screams through the mound of fur that is now enveloping his face. "I knew it!," the green-furred thing that was attached to my was crying gleefully, "I knew humans were real!" . I manage to pry it off of my face, and set it on the ground. Now that I get a good look at it, it strikes me that I have seen her before, when I watched the show. Grinning, I mock-bow and say with a thick British accent, "Well hello my fair pony, what is your name, if I may so inquire." She gasped, holding a hoof to her mouth, "Wow, it can even talk too! My name's Lyra. Lyra Heartstrings." She holds out her hoof for a hoof shake. I take her hoof and gently kiss it. "It is my pleasure to meet such a beautiful mare, my name is Bear." I then stand back up and look at Lyra. She had her head turned to avoid my gaze, blushing heavily and rubbing the hoof that I had just kissed. Hnng, Oh god my chest hurts. I turned back to look at Rainbow, who was just standing there looking at me if I had just fucked Lyra right in front of her. "Oh my god Rainbow, your fuckin face!" I practically yell, pointing at her, while laughing my ass off. Oh my god my sides hurt. Getting up and wiping tears from my eyes. "Alright Rainbow, lets get to the castle." Rainbow stays still. "Okay, then going to the castle by myself!" I say in a last-ditch effort to snap Rainbow out of her little trance. It doesn't seem to work. I turn towards Lyra, "Well, it seems that Rainbow.exe has stopped working. Later, Lyra." I wave goodbye. I have just turned away from her when she yells. "Wait!" I turn back to face her. "What?" I ask. "I have so many questions though!" She replies, walking towards me. "I need you to answer them, please!" She gives me the puppy-dog eyes with her last statement. Fuck, I can't say no to that, but I had already thought that she was going to ask me that, so I already had an answer ready for her. "Come to the castle tomorrow at sunset. You can bring three friends, I will answer all of your questions. Now, if you will excuse me, I will be heading to the castle now." I turn back to where Rainbow was. "Alright Rainbow lets go-" She wasn't there. I turn to look for her, and all I can see is a rainbow trail heading straight to the castle. I sigh, looks like I'm gonna have to hurry and get to the castle. I turn to Lyra, "Well, it looks like this is goodbye until tomorrow." After I had said my goodbye, I started to run in the direction of the castle. Now, I am in great shape, thanks to my job and active lifestyle. Getting across this town was going to be a piece of cake. I wasn't expecting the amount of ponies that I would have to dodge though. I think that I had accidentally ran on the road that goes through the market. I saw a bunch of ponies walking from stall to stall, and there was no way I was going to be able to stop in time with the pace that I was running at. "Clear the way!' I scream, hoping that the ponies would get out of the way. Most did, but there were some that seemed to freeze in fear as I was barreling through. They were all screaming, though, every single pony was screaming. I couldn't hear any specific things that they had said, because I was trying my hardest to not run into anyone. After what felt like an eternity, I finally got out of the market and was able to see the base of the castle. I exhale in relief. I was almost to the castle. I start to slow down when I near the door. This castle, though, does not fit in with the rest of the town. I shrug and ignore that revelation and push the door open to enter the castle. Holy shit, this thing is so much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. The ceiling is high as shit and this fucking room could fit a lot of people in here. Hot damn, I swear that some titan-sized creature designed this place. I look to the center of the room and find Twilight and her friends sitting on six different thrones in the center of the room. They are all looking at me. All of them have different expressions on their faces. Before I can figure out what out what their expressions were, a pink blur covers my face. Goddamn it Pinkie. This mare is covering my entire head, I can't breath, hear, I can't do fucking ANYTHING. As I try to pry her off of my face, I hear Twilight shout something. Pinkie immediately disappears from the death-hold that she had on my face. I take a deep breath as I now am not being suffocated. Looking around the room, I now see that all of them have frowns on their faces, save for Pinkie. She has a worried smile. I was really confused now. Rainbow and Twilight had seemed friendly when they first met me, but now they are giving me distrustful scowls and looking at me like I should be thrown in a prison. I continue walking up to their thrones, with a little nervousness building up in my chest. As I got to the center of the six thrones, I steel my nerves and keep my face straight. "So, Rainbow, Twilight," I nod my head in the direction of both of them, "what's with the sudden mood change?" Rainbow scowls at me and snarls, "Don't talk to me, you monster!" She looks like she wants to say more, but Twilight shoots her a 'shut the fuck up right now' type of death glare, which shuts Rainbow up pretty quick. Twilight turns her attention back to me, "Celestia told us what you humans have done to innocent ponies in the past. I do not trust you at all. Now, I am giving you one chance to tell us what we want to know, before I kick you out of Ponyville." Holy mother of twat-knockers, she's being serious! I think while I look at Twilight's expression. But, I don't make any sort of indication that her words had any impact on me. "Alright." I say, calm and gazing at Twilight. "So all I will do is answer your questions, and then you will kick me out of Ponyville?" "Yes." Twilight answers, her voice cold. I looked around at all the other elements, their expressions weren't much different. I sit down, looking at Twilight. "Alright, let's get this show started!" I say with a smile as Rainbow snarls at me. I turn to grin at her. Oh, man was this going to be a shit-storm for the ages. "Alright, first question," Twilight says as she starts to pile together... Notebooks and quills. Of fucking course she would be taking notes during this. "Where did you come from?" I smirk, "Well I came from my mother's womb, like all of you probably did as well." God I love being a smartass sometimes. I think while I look at all of their faces, which range from annoyance to rage. "Are you going to treat this as a joke?" Twilight almost yells at me, her face red. Man, someone must have shat in her cheerios this morning, because her temper was short as hell. "Yeah, I am." I respond, my face straight. "Because even if I do take this seriously, you are still going to kick me out anyways. So why should I take this seriously Twilight?" I stand up now and look at Twilight, who is currently rolls her eyes. "Then let me help you with that, since you know you are going to leave anyways." Twilight says, a little darkly. I was shocked, this did not seem like Twilight at all! I looked at her, my eyes widened a little. I watched her activate her magic, and I saw something wrong her when she did. Were those... black streaks in her magic stream? I thought before she blasted me with a stream of lavender-colored magic. > Chapter 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight's POV I looked at where I had just blasted. All I could see is a little scorch mark, but no crater. I must have teleported him, Thank goddesses. I don't know what came over me! I just had this wave of... Fear, wash over me! As I look to my friends, I can see their expressions, I can see their confusion and shock. I couldn't believe it either... "What the hay Twi?!" I hear Rainbow shout from beside me. "We were supposed to question him, but you just blasted him! What's the deal?" All I can do is turn and look at her and stay silent. I had no idea what happened! How could I explain it to my friends if I don't know what exactly happened! I was just talking to him, he decided to try and get under my skin, and then... I was just scared! All I could see was black! "Uh, Twi?" I hear Applejack say next to me, and I turn towards her. "What happened there? That wasn't like you a' all!" I sigh and sit up, facing them all, "I honestly have... No clue what just happened..." They all look at me and each other with looks of shock and confusion. I continued, "All I remember is that after... Bear..." I still had a tough time even mentioning him, thinking about what Celestia told me about him and his race. "Made his comment to get under my skin, I got swallowed up by a feeling of darkness and pure fear! I don't even know what happened, until I blasted him!" This had an effect on all of them. All their expressions changed, morphing into fear, until Fluttershy spoke up. "Twilight... D-did you... Did you k-k-kill him?" She spoke, her voice quivering. This made me relax, at least I can give them some good news about what happened. "No, Fluttershy, I didn't hit him with a lethal blast. I hit him with a long-range teleportation spell. He is far away from here, we probably will never see him again." Their expressions lightened a little bit, except for Rarity's. She still had a worried expression. "Twilight... I hate to say this darling, but that might be a bad thing..." She says, nervousness entering her voice. Everypony looked at her like she was crazy, even I had to raise an eyebrow. "Please explain to me how this might be a bad thing, Rarity." I say, still a little shocked at her words. "Well Twilight dear... The experience that you said that you felt... Sounds a lot like what you experienced when you faced King Sombra..." Rarity explained, still a little nervous, but she was looking directly at me... This hit me hard. This was exactly like what happened at the door... I could not speak or move at all... But at the same time, I could only see a vision, but... Something about this one felt different than Sombra's dark magic... It felt more... Malicious... Dark... Destructive... "Let's just hope that he just stays gone then..." I say quietly, sinking to the floor as old memories were ripped back to the present. I have to write Princess Celestia about this... Bear's POV My life. Why does it have to be so painful? I sigh as I slowly open my eyes while I stand up, and see that I am... I am.... Okay, actually, where the flying fucksticks am I? All I can see is a little meadow around this small lake, that is being fed by a waterfall coming from one of the mountains that is close by. It looks like it is isolated... No noticeable landmarks anywhere in sight. Shit. I'm fucking stuck here... I barely register the wet streaks falling down my face. A chance... That's all I've ever FUCKING ASKED FOR... One chance to get to know someone... But someone has to come and fuck it up for me... Why can't I ever just have ONE FRIEND! I rage in my mind, my hands clenching. Eventually, I come to my senses and wipe my tears away. This was no time to feel sorry and bitter. I needed to find some shelter, and some food. This world wasn't going to kill me off just yet. I slowly start to make my way around the valley. There were not many places to enter the valley, so that seems promising, knowing that I could easily set up some defenses... If I ever needed them, at least. Either way, I had to get to work. Knowing that I am most likely not getting out of here anytime soon, I might as well make this place my new home. In Celestia's bedroom Celestia was pacing the room anxiously, while her sister, Princess Luna, sat on the bed and watched her sister pace with unease. "Sister, please. Stop pacing, you are wearing grooves in the floor." Luna speaks, finally standing up and putting a hoof on her sister's shoulder. "I cannot, and you know that Luna." Celestia says with a stressed voice. "You know that this shows that... He is growing in power... He is now able to summon these... Humans... and give them magical abilities..." Celestia states while ignoring her sister's requests, and continues to pace. "Where is Discord! I called for him hours ago!" She suddenly shouts, looking around in irritation. Luna just sits and sighs, having no clue as to who Celestia was talking about. "Well call the devil, and he shall appear Celly." Another voice says as Discord, the Lord of Chaos blinks into the room with a bright flash of light. "Finally. You come." Celestia says, still a little peeved at his tardiness, but that was not important at the moment. "Do you know the situation?" She say, fixing her stone gaze upon Discord. Discord then sighs, and then adopts a serious posture, and the whole world seems to stop for a second. The Lord of Chaos, known for his pranks and antics, as well as his joking attitude, suddenly getting dead serious like this, there is clearly something wrong, Luna noticed. 'Yes, Celestia. I am all to familiar with how my brother's condition is." Discord says with a scowl, like someone had spat in his face. "Um... Who are we talking about?" Luna says, a bit confused. Celestia stops, and looks at her, "You don't know?" Luna shakes her head as a response as a reply. Celestia then sighs, "Discord does have a... Brother... His name, is Malignus, or The Malicious One in old Equestrian." Discord grunts in disapproval at hearing his brother's name. Luna nods in understanding as Celestia continues. "As you know, Luna. Discord came to be way before we were born." Luna nods again. "Malignus is even older than Discord, and much more powerful..." Celestia says in a more quiet voice, trying to convey exactly how serious she was trying to be at that moment. "Discord also has one other sibling, if you remember." Celestia looks over at Luna. "So at the very start of this world, there were three Spirits. Discord, Spirit of Chaos. Harmony, Spirit of Balance. And lastly, there was Malignus, Spirit of Destruction." Discord then looks up at Celestia, and Celestia catches his silent message and steps back as Discord stands in front of them. He clears his throat and begins to speak. "Me and my siblings.... We got along decently in the early years of our lives. We were content to just watch over the world. We rarely interfered with mortals back then. Everything was very peaceful, that is.... Until Malignus decided that it was not enough to destroy only the ones who deserved to be destroyed. He wanted to tear this world apart..." Discord says with an angered expression. "Me and Harmony... It was the only time we have ever worked together. We stopped him before he destroyed the entire planet. But... To ensure that he didn't return, Harmony sacrificed his body to put Malignus into another dimension... To ensure that Malignus would never return." Discord says as the sisters look at him, confused. "If Harmony's body was destroyed... How were the Elements of Harmony, and the Tree of Harmony created?" Luna asks, slowly standing. Discord looks back at her, "The Tree and the Elements were formed by Harmony's ambient magic." Discord explained. Luna nods, before Celestia gets up, "Discord. Are you aware of the... Humans... That have been appearing in the last few centuries?" Celestia asks Discord. Discord nods at her, not saying anything. Celestia then continues, "The last few times that I have... Encountered these humans, I could sense a dark magic unlike any other... The only one who could be doing this is Malignus." Discord nods, "That means that he is gaining power, and he is still determined to destroy this planet..." Discord says darkly. Celestia nods and Luna looks between them, "He must be trying to use these humans as his pawns..." Luna says, her eyes wide. "We have to destroy them." Celestia says darkly, "I will not let anything hurt my ponies." A few weeks later Bear's POV It has only been a few weeks inside this little valley, but I have made it into a home for myself. And I shall call it, FORT KICKASS! Yeah... that sounds good. This place was very nice for a isolated place, plenty of food, water, enough space for me to lounge about, and do all the things I need to do. I smile and sigh as I look back near the waterfall. There had been a cave next to the waterfall, and it was of a nice size, so it was now my house, and was great at storing food. In fact, I had found enough food for the next three days! `As I walk back to the meadow, I feel a wave of numbness pass over me, making me stumble. The fuck was that?! I think as I look around, and then look at myself. My eyes widen as I see the runes on my arms glowing with a completely black color. All of a sudden, my vision went black. I slowly held my head as I get up, grunting in pain. "Hello Bear." A deep, gravely voice says, seeming to speak from all sides of me. I then growl as I look around, looking for the one who was speaking. I remembered that voice, the one who brought me here. "What do you want?!" I growl, still looking around. All I want is for you to do your job. Do the one job I brought you here to do." He chuckles, "You do remember your job, don't you?" I scowl, "I am not going to kill anyone without a reason." I growl, trying to look through the darkness around me. I hear him laugh, "You should really reconsider, you might regret going against my will." He says, before I suddenly open my eyes, looking around. Apparently it has become night, while I was in that weird fucking place... What the fuck was that? What is going on? Why is this happening to me? > Chapter 8 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 Years After the arrival of Bear Bear's POV I awoke with a groan, slowly sitting up as the sunlight reflected off the waterfall and into my eyes. Goddamn mornings, I fucking hate them. Either way, I slowly sat up, stretching my arms. I winced at the bruise that had formed on my shoulder. I sigh as I take a look at it, flexing my arm in various ways, hissing in pain as my shoulder started to protest. Fucking Manticores. Only way to get away from them is to run, unless you're a dumbass and slam into a rock. I sigh, and slowly stand up, there was no point in complaining. There was work I had to do. I slowly stretch as I walk outside of my cave, into the meadow. I smiled as I looked at the little valley, I had done good work here, making this place into my home. The cave was where I slept, and where I stored anything useful, such as furs, food, and fresh water from the waterfall. I had made a couple of gates by the two entrances to the valley, to hopefully dissuade anyone who would try to wreck my place. The meadow has become my training yard, where I would train with my magic... Yeah... One thing though... I fucking hate the magic he gave me. Yes, I did come into this world with magic, and he explained how it works. I had runes etched into my skin, but they weren't visible until I pumped my 'mana' through them. These runes activated as I pumped my mana through them, and formed my mana into physical weapons, such as swords and spears. though this might sound awesome, it is not. The fact that I have the ability to use magic comes at a cost, because I came from a planet with no magic on it. Because I was not... In tune with this world's magic, made it extremely painful to use. It's as if I pour tar across my skin. I hate it but, it is useful at times. Talking about him... I haven't had any... Visions from him since the day I got here... I think that's a good sign? Finishing my thoughts, I started to head to the back of my cave before I hear a small meow come from below me. I smile as I look down and see Floyd. My adorable little kitten. He was a small, scrawny little fellow, with light gray fur that had dark gray stripes. He also had the most amazing eyes, they were just like mine! A full rainbow colored Iris around the pupils. When I found out about my new eye color, I freaked the fuck out... But that was a while ago. I had found him.... About three years ago. In this very cave. I rescued him from a couple of Timberwolves, and now... He is attached to me, and I am pretty sure he is the only reason I'm not going insane out of pure loneliness. Either way, I smiled down and picked him up, as he started to purr and snuggle into my arms. I loved this fucking guy. He was just too damn cute. I chuckle and take him to the back of the cave, and grab him a fish and put it on the ground before I set him down. "There ya go bud.' I say with a smile. This guy was my bud. I wouldn't know what to do when I eventually lose him... I smile and nod as I slowly stand up and grab a strip of dried beef, chewing on it as I slowly make my way over to the walls. I slowly start to inspect them and sigh as I see that they were in need of some repair. The wood that I had originally used has started to sag, or crack. I double check the walls, before I quickly go back to my cave and grab some of my tools. I smile as I inspect my tools, I mean sure, it looks like a caveman made them with them just being a rock attached to a stick with some rope, but they did their jobs beautifully. I nod and grab my hammer, some wooden stakes, and my sword. I smile as I see the sword, it was just a regular straight sword, but it gave me some comfort, knowing that I didn't have to use my painful magic to defend myself. I sigh and put my tools on my belt. Surprisingly, my jeans and belt were still able to worn, and they didn't look too bad! My shirt didn't have as much luck, though. Three years... Whoever made my jeans and belt needs a fucking raise. I chuckle at the thought and smile as I slowly walk back out of my cave, yelling to Floyd, "I'll be back soon bud!" After I had said my goodbye, I started to run out of the valley, and go into the forest to look for some trees that would provide me some strong wood for my walls. I knew of a place like that, but it was a ways into the forest, about an hours walk. I sigh as I start down the trail, quietly whistling to myself. God damn, what was the song that I was whistling? Oh, right! The Andy Griffith show! That was the one that I was whistling. God I missed Earth... But then again, I really didn't either. Sure I missed my family... But I loved the freedom that this world had for me... No real tragedies for me in three years... That had to be something, right? Either way, enough of the depressing thoughts, I just had to get my wood, and then repair my wall with it. That was the plan, and I was going to stick with it. Wait... What was that sound? I slowly draw my sword and step off of the trail. Something wasn't right... I could hear a bunch of noise coming from up ahead, what sounded like howls of pain, and blaring noise. I start to slowly try and navigate to the noise through the trees. As I get closer, the sounds start to get more and more distinct, and it sounded like... Marching... My eyes widen and I quickly start to climb the nearest tree, quickly getting up it thanks to my height and my stronger-than-normal limbs. As I poke my head above the leaves of the tree, I have to stifle a gasp at what I see. It looked like a platoon of soldiers in a meadow nearby. Griffon soldiers. Now let me tell you, in armor these guys are downright terrifying. I watched them as they slowly marched for a few hundred more feet, before they stopped. I then heard one of the soldiers bark an order at the others, and they started to set up camp. I had to know what the hell was going on. So I slowly and quietly climbed back down the tree, and started to sneak over closer to their camp. Now, I know this was a bad fucking idea, sneaking towards a fucking small army, but I mean goddamn, I had to know what the fuck their goal was. It just didn't sit right for me to know that there was a metric assload of griffons here, so close to my home, and not know what they were doing. So, as any normal idiot would do, I snuck into some bushes next to one of the groups, smiling as I hear their conversations. "Slash, get over here! We just got word from the Bloodwings, and that their starting to push onto Canterlot!" One of them says excitedly. I felt my eyes widen a bit as I hear him speak. Canterlot? Bloodwings? What the actual fuck is happening in Equestria?! Another one of them starts to speak, dragging me out of my thoughts. "That just means we need to get to Ponyville tomorrow, make sure the elements can't get to Canterlot to reinforce." That made me reel my head back. Ponyville? Jesus, I really have lost touch with the outside world. I hear some of the griffons start to laugh heartily, making my blood flow through my veins a little quicker, my hands clenching. What the hell are they planning? To invade Equestria? And what is going to happen to the ponies of Ponyville? I then shake those thoughts out of my head quickly, dismissing them. Those ponies did nothing for me. I will do nothing in return. "Oh! Scout team got back! Get Soliquill over here, I want to hear what they found." That caught my interest, a scouting team? What have they found? I listen closely as I hear a group of paw/clawsteps leading towards me. I tense up and get ready to bolt as they come closer to the bushes that I was behind, but then relax a bit as I hear the new griffons start to speak. "So, you featherbrains want to hear what we found?" A gruff-sounding voice asked, follow by a syncronized 'yes' from the rest of the griffons. "Ha! Thought so. Either way, we went a little north of camp, wanting to make sure that we aren't going to pass by any Hydra nests." I was listening intently, seeing if they were going to provide me some information. "But my team stumbled across what seemed to be some creature's base." Base? What would they mean by tha-... Oh SHIT! I thought, my mind and heart racing now as the griffon continues. "All it had in it was a couple of walls, a training ground, and a cave where he stored a bunch of food..." I had to fight to breath normally now, my mind racing as well as my heart. "We didn't see any sign of the creature, so we burned everything it had." I barely heard from the griffon, and at that moment my heart stopped. I HAVE TO GET HOME. > Chapter 9 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bear's POV I was fucking sprinting down the path that I had come down, there was no way. They couldn't be talking about my home... No way... Right? As I ran, the forest around me slowly began to form into a green blur as I ran, throwing all caution to the wind. My home for three years... It hurt to think about, but all I know is that I need to check if everything is okay. Hell, they could have accidentally found some abandoned shit-shack out in the middle of this godforsaken forest. I nearly was taking myself out on the trees and rocks in my way as I ran, and then my heart sank to the bottom of my chest. I could smell something burning. My heart raced as I picked up the pace. I don't think I've ever ran so fast in my entire life. So focused to getting home, I didn't even notice the sound of paw-steps behind me. But I kept running, lungs burning like hot coals in a furnace, legs tense as a sixteen-year-old virgin on his first date. I could start to see something through the trees, slowly emerging, and as I finally made it to the entrance, I realized that my worst fear had indeed come true. It was all burning. The smoke plume coming up from behind the makeshift wall did indeed confirm that. I ran inside, all my previous tiredness from my sprint through the forest was gone with the amount of adrenaline flowing through my veins now. I looked around my little camp as I ran, and I almost broke down right there and then. Everything I could see was completely destroyed. Those goddamn griffins didn't leave a single thing untouched. As I got closer to my cave, I could see smoke billowing out from inside. I ran in and looked around for any supplies that could have been left. Nothing. I saw nothing that was salvageable. But by god I felt like I was forgetti-... Floyd... Where was he? I scrambled around as I kept calling his name. Hoping to god or whatever fucking deity was out there that he was okay. As I kept searching, I heard it. A small, weak meow, and with that my heart soared. "FLOYD!" I almost screamed as I tried to locate the sound. I kept hearing the meow again and again as I kept searching. As I neared my bed, or at least what was left of it, I heard the meow clearly. I smiled and then looked under the bed. Under it, I saw a small lump of gray fur and I slowly reached out and poked his back with a finger. "Floyd? I'm here bud... Come on out..." I say as I reach down and slowly slide him back into my arms. Something didn't feel right though... Usually he would at least meow, turn his head, or do something. But he was limp as I scooped him up. I started to look over him for any injury, and quickly figured out that everything was indeed not fine. As I looked down at his face, tears fell from my own. Overall he really wasn't hurt too badly... But those fucking griffins took one thing away from him. His sight. Both eyes were closed, and blood was streaming out from under his eyelids. I slowly brought him closer to my chest, crouching down and sobbing softly. "I'm sorry bud... I wasn't here to protect you..." I say softly, almost a whisper. Floyd meows gently but then he started purring in my arms. My tears were coming out like rivers at this point. Now, even when he is blind, he still knew it was me... And he felt safe... Even after he was robbed of his sight, and everything burning down around him. The little shit knew it was me. As I was sitting there, with Floyd in my arms, I realized that now, I didn't really have a home anymore. My tears slowly stopped in this realization, and I slowly started to become enraged. I slowly stood with Floyd still safely in my arms, and started to walk back out of the cave, remembering how life use to be in this safe little cove that I had carved out for myself. One year after Teleporting I smiled to myself and stood up as I looked at the wall that I put up at the entrance to the cove. The sun was out, and it was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. I heard a loud meow from behind me, so I turned around to face Floyd. "Alright ya little shit. You want some food, don't ya." I say down to the little adorable mass of gray fur sitting in front of me. I sigh and chuckle a bit as I grab a strip of dried meat from my pocket. "Fine, one little snack. But no more until dinner, got it?" I say as I slowly squat down and lay the strip in the grass right in front of him. I watch him slowly start to gnaw at the food, as a rush of what I would call quote-unquote 'happiness' flood through me. I haven't realized how truly peaceful it seems to be here. Even in the middle of Everfree, you could find some semblance of order. I smiled to myself as I thought to myself. When was the last time I've felt this content? I mean, yeah it gets a bit lonely around here at times, but where else can you get that is this... Calm? At that thought I sighed and got up. Well, since I'm really not doing anything else... Why not take a swim? Two years after Teleporting Floyd was always terrified of storms, and to be fair, I was a bit too. Both of us were laying on my bed, trying to ignore the deafening thunder outside. Every time we saw a flash I pulled Floyd a bit closer to me. Honestly, the storms in the Everfree are pretty dangerous but this was on a whole new and unnatural level. Like, imagine a hurricane on land, combined with the absolute WORST hailstorm you could remember. Yeah, that was about the level was. Floyd was shaking in my arms and I smiled a little, leaning my head down to rest my forehead on his. Instantly, he seemed to calm down, and started to purr. I smirked and chuckled a bit. You stupid little cat... Stop making me feel so good! After that storm... Me and Floyd were basically inseparable. Only when I went out, were we not together. Present I sighed and slowly wiped my face of any remaining tears, my anger still fresh in my mind. Well, it was great... But I guess it's time to say goodbye... I slowly turn away from my camp, slowly sliding Floyd down the front of my shirt. I don't think he payed any mind, since he just kinda... Plopped down. Well... Either way... I won't forgive the griffons for doing this. And since I really have no where else to go... Might as well follow them to Ponyville at least, lets see how badly I can fuck their plans up! I double check my supplies, for some basic rations, and my sword. After confirming that I have them I smirk and start jogging to where I last saw the Griffon camp. Unfortunately however, Floyd is not a fan of the jogging, and is currently putting his claws into my chest... This is going to be a long trip... Isn't it?
