love can be strange, sometimes even a strong friendship can lead to passionate feelings but when another species is involved it's a whole new story. Rarity a fashionista in Ponyville must come across this feeling after a wolf saves her from a pack of timberwolves, and the wolf becomes injured and needs help so she takes him back to the boutique to care for him.
It was a busy Saturday afternoon in Ponyville as many ponies from different parts of Equestria we're catching up with some of their friends while eating salad sandwiches, and foals playing tag with one another and some going to Hayburger Queen with their parents while playing with a happy meal toy, and a pink party pony was spreading joy in the afternoon by throwing after birthday parties and giving out free balloons to any filly or colt that walked by. Applejack was making a bundle of bits for her apple farm, not one customer refused to pay and the apple treats had tasted extra good even the visitors from Canterlot loved the sweet apple goodness. The weather team had planned a beautiful cloudless day, the birds whistling a gentle soft tune while flying with their families, all around Ponyville. While everypony in town was enjoying the afternoon, a certain white unicorn with an elegant purple mane and tail along with a purple baby dragon who was hauling a cart filled with sparkly gems, as the mare's gem finding spell had led them into the dark, dingy and scary Everfree forest.
"come along Spike there are more gems over here" said the white unicorn in a soft ladylike voice.
"I'm coming Rarity" Spike spoke in a eager excited tone.
Spike caught up to Rarity and set down the cart, his mouth watering just from the clinking of jewels in the cart as they sparkled
"did you find more gems where are they," Spike said still in his excited tone
"yes Spike right over there" Rarity said pointing with her forehoof to where the pile of gems were.
Spike ran towards the area where Rarity pointed and with no hesitation he started digging not knowing they were being watched, as the bushes started to rustle which caught Spike's eye which made him stop digging, Rarity looked down to the little dragon and wondered why he stopped digging.
"Spike is something wrong" Rarity spoke in a worrisome tone.
Spike quickly snapped out of his concentration from the bushes as he shook his head repeatedly.
"huh what..." Spike replied as he began to focus on Rarity "I thought I saw something move in those bushes" he continued as he pointed at bushes.
Rarity looked forward at the bushes where Spike was pointing and saw nothing, but she noticed the air started to turn chilly as her body began to shiver from the cold air.
"it's ok wittle Spikey Wikey just dig up this last batch of gems and we'll get out of this dreadful forest" Rarity spoke as she put her hoof on Spike's shoulder.
So Spike continued digging and then the rustling of the bushes started again, he took a quick glance as he still continued to dig but his nose caught a foul stench he had smelled before which made him nervous, he then dug a lot faster and grabbed the large pile of gems and threw them onto the cart.
"ok thats all the gems now we can get out of here right" Spike said as he looked nervously at the bushes again as they began to rustle again which made him jump again so he quickly went to Rarity, while holding the handle for the cart as he was about to speak to her a loud growl from the bushes caught they're attention and a whole pack of timber wolves jumped out the bushes snarling and growling, Spike froze in fear while Rarity grabbed Spike by the spade tip of his tail with her teeth and flung him on her back and she ran as fast as she could her hooves pounding on the ground the timberwolves in hot pursuit of them.
Deeper into the Everfree Forest above the top of the highest cliff; there was another wolf but it wasn't a timber wolf, it was a Everfreeian grey wolf, with ice blue grey fur, light yellow markings where its face was and paws, and a piece of red fur on the top of it's head coming down to it's neck. yeah that's me my name is Dusko, I've been a lone wolf all my life never had a pack or a family to call my own well the pack I was born in... well they didn't really approve about my decision. wait you wanna know my story,well ok, I was only young still just an innocent pup it all started when a couple of ponies had invaded our lands most of the pack were killed and...
"AHHHH!!!"
A high ear splitting scream was ringing in Dusko's ears, he reached to the top part of the cliff and also heard growls which were as loud as thunder.
Dusko wasted no time and jumped down the cliff by using his claws for grip as he slid down and as he got down to the bottom he leapt to the ground running as fast as he could jumping over small streams leaping into rivers and swimming to the other side, he showed no signs of giving up he was determined to save the innocent soul from the timberwolves. Dusko jumped out of the water not even bothered to shake the excess water off his fur, as he continued running, he could tell he was getting closer by the sound of the timberwolves growls and snarls, oh and not to forget the screaming he could tell one scream was defiantly female because of its feminine tone, he could tell he wasn't that far so Dusko decided to climb up a tree to see how far he was, he climbed to the highest branch and what he saw was the strangest thing,
"is that... a dragon on that... pony's back huh" he spoke quietly as he tilted his head in confusion.
known the less he carried on as he jumped down and landed on a huge rock but he decided to take a little shortcut up the hill so he could get to them quicker as he continued on the face of determination and willing he showed as he ran, climbed and jumped.
Rarity was in panic she didn't want to die by timberwolves, even the thought of looking for gems in the Everfree now just sounded foolish to her knowing it was the beginning of Spring and so the timberwolves would be out hunting. Anyway she then continued to run but was then was trapped by a dead end.
"oh no we're trapped what are we gonna do!!! we're doomed" Spike screamed in panic.
Rarity thought a moment and levitated Spike with her magic to the top of the ledge and as soon Spike's feet touch the high ground, a mysterious figure had leapt above jumping down to the timberwolves, the wolf had landed in front of Rarity snarling and growling at the timberwolves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxYOA_J4MZU
Dusko glanced at the white unicorn with a raised eyebrow and then turned back to the timberwolves who were not pleased seeing how a wolf was stopping them from getting their pray, Dusko launched at wolves biting and snapping at their stick limbs. Rarity was in shock a wolf was saving her life, she then turned to Spike who was watching this wolf defending them until Rarity had levitated a stick to poke Spike out of his concentration Spike shook is head and focused on Rarity.
"Spike go get some vine so I can climb up" Rarity spoke glancing at the wolf who was defending them.
"ok Rarity I'll be back shortly I promise" Spike said boldly as he ran off to find some piece of vine.
"Be careful Spikey Wikey" Rarity shouted as she cringed nervously looking at the wolf who was fighting viciously to protect her.
Dusko pounced on to the timberwolves biting them trying to tear them to pieces until one of them tore a chunk of flesh from his left foreleg that led to the bone and the timber wolf threw Dusko to the wall where Rarity was, he quickly got up not trying to notice how much pain he was in, he looked at Rarity and notice concern for him in her eyes but a timberwolf was able to scratch his face and leaving a bloody cut above his left eye. He then quickly moved his body in a more defensive position as he shielded Rarity from the timberwolves and growled at them while snapping his teeth to warn them off until he got an idea, he looked up to the top ledge and noticed that dragon had come back with a piece of vine. So he hurled Rarity onto his back and used his claws to climb up to the top of the ledge, placed Rarity onto the ground and no sooner he did Spike ran to her wrapping his little arms around her.
Dusko glanced with a raised eyebrow in confusion and curiosity and then turned his attention was drawn to the timberwolves trying to reach at them, he let out a glare as he growled to warn them off again and then grabbed the piece of vine in his mouth and leapt onto the tree that was behind the timberwolves and very unexpectedly a blue magical aura had held of the vine he then looked towards where the magical aura was coming from and found it was that white unicorn he gestured with his paws to tie the vine around the tree and he jumped back to them and smirked at the timberwolves as he grabbed the other end of the vine with his mouth and pulled the vine and he had help with the dragon and the white unicorn helping him pulling the tree down, the tree began to crack and tilted forward.
Rarity wondered what this wolf was doing as he gestured to her to help him, while her and Spike still pulled the vine to make the tree fall she caught a glance at the creature as he jumped onto the tree next to the cracked tree and then on to several others until he got on below ground and took off running, and started heading towards the cracked tilted tree and climbed onto the trunk of the tree and leaned in and pressed his weight onto it, the timberwolves were starting to climb up the ledge and Rarity and Spike quickly moved backwards leaving Dusko to do it on his own as he glanced towards them and the timberwolves and let out a little gasp and used all his strength on the cracked tilted tree and the pressure from his weight pressure the tree began to crush onto the timberwolves smashing them into tiny pieces of sticks.
Dusko let out a large exhale while wiping his forehead as he looked at the stick remains of his rival cousins as he let out a smirk. Rarity and Spike on the hand could only stare at the wolf, curious on how he was smirking at the vicious beasts remains. Dusko stopped and saw the two beings staring at him, he then jumped off the tree and climbed to the top of the ledge as he noticed a hoof reach out to him as he was about to climb up, he stared at the hoof with a raised eyebrow showing confusion on his face until he let out a little growl and Rarity backed off as he scowled at Rarity and Spike. he got up and slowly walked towards Rarity becoming an inch close to her as he smelled a weird fragrance on her that he couldn't describe but it made him scrunch his nose up just by one whiff of her, he then stepped back.
"what are you doing here" Dusko spoke in his rustic husky tone.
Rarity was speechless she never expected this creature to talk, but not only that he could speak but she could understand what he was saying, since she heard different species from the Everfree didn't communicate or even speak the same language, after her confusing thought the wolf frowned at her like he was waiting for a reply.
"uh hello there mister uh... Wolf I'm Rarity and this is my friend Spike" she spoke nervously as she grinned, Spike gave a nervous smile as the wolf looked at him.
Dusko scowled again yes it was nice to know they're names but he wanted to know what they we're doing the the forest.
"Answer my question!... What are you doing in the Everfree forest" he looked at them his scowl turning into a little frown.
"Me and Spike we're looking for gems and I'd thought there might be some ancient gems in the forest so I could take them back to my boutique so I could use them for a brand new fashion line I'm creating for a client" Rarity explained.
Dusko raised an eyebrow as he had no idea what she was talking but he shrugged it off thinking it was just a silly pony thing.
"I'll escort you out the forest" he said, Rarity was about to follow until Spike grabbed her by the tail and pointed out.
"what about all the gems we found and the cart" Spike exclaimed, Rarity looked worried as Dusko frowned at them 'sigh' "hide into that abandoned cave and wait until I return with your gems" he spoke as he limbed to find their cart. A few minutes had past and Dusko returned with the cart still filled to the top with gems, Rarity and Spike peeked out of the cave and noticed he had returned as they walked up towards him.
"oh thank you mr... do you have a name" Rarity said curiously.
Dusko let go of the handle of the cart as he saw the little dragon known as Spike grabbing the handle of the cart he then turned his attention to Rarity and snickered at her question.
"of course I have a name... it's Dusko" he frowned as he began to walk them back to Ponyville.
On the walk to their town, Dusko was thinking to himself saying why did he save this pony and her friend, why was it him that saved them, all these things floated about in his mind he then took a quick glance at the mare as she was keeping an eye on Spike so he wouldn't eat any of those gems, but Dusko couldn't help but just stare in wonderment and curiosity, on how this baby dragon and this pony are friends. Rarity was walking behind Dusko and felt the need to repay him for saving her and Spike, until she glimpsed down to his left front leg which was dripping with blood, and thought of a crazy generous idea.
The trio made it to the entrance of Ponyville, night had risen and Spike was shocked as he had to get back to Twilight, so he put down the cart next to Rarity as he was about to speak.
"wow it's late I best be getting back home to Twilight" he said as he ran to the Ponyville library.
Rarity and Dusko watched the little dragon run until he was completely out of sight, Rarity turned to Dusko concerned about his leg and thinking of her offer for him after he saved her life.
"thank you again for saving me and Spike" she spoke very gratefully.
"it's no problem..." Dusko replied as he then turned to his badly injured leg and began to lick it and started to turn back into the forest until.
"wait!!!" Rarity yelled out, Dusko turned his head in confusion "in honour to repay you how about I take you in so I can fix your leg up" she responded with a generous smile.
"Did I hear that right or is she going completely bonkers, take me into a town full of ponies, into her home so she can help me with my injured leg?..."
Dusko stared at Rarity confused about her offer, Rarity tensed up a bit as he stared right into her sapphire blue eyes but somehow she knew he wasn't gonna hurt her, but Dusko didn't seem to understand no-one or no pony for that matter would never help out a wild animal.
"why should I trust you" he frowned as he backed away from the fashionista.
"why should I have trusted you... you might of just fought those timberwolves so you could do what your predator instincts tell you and attack me and Spike.
If there was something he wasn't keen on it, living up to his carnivore predator instincts especially on ponies it just didn't seem to suit the Everfreeian wolf taking an innocent life seemed so wrong thinking about they're family and friends who would miss them made Dusko very depressed though eating another animal seemed fine to him, maybe thats why his birth pack left him at such a young age he didn't know probably. He then frowned at Rarity growling and shouted.
"don't you dare mistake me for a timber wolf" he growled staring right into Rarity's eyes, he then back away again and snickered "good point but say I was gonna go along with your offer, that you keep your promise that I shall leave as soon as my leg is healed" he said curiously.
After Dusko spoke Rarity felt nervous when Dusko yelled at her, like she offended him and him saying she mistaken him for a timber wolf, which confused because she thought all types of wolves were the same.
"oh I'm sorry if I offended mr Dusko... But yes you can go back to the Everfree" Rarity smiled, Dusko looked at the Everfree and then back to Rarity.
"Let me think about it..." he looked onwards into the forest and then turned back to Rarity.
"If you hear a howl like this" he spoke as he got ready to howl.
During his howl, Rarity couldn't believe how beautiful his howl was it wasn't like a timberwolves, no his was full of passion and it was as sweet like a melodic harmony tune he could let the wind flow around him like if his howl was magic.
"go back to your town for now and when you hear that howl meet me here" Dusko spoke sounding firm and bold as he limbed towards deeper into the forest but before he got about 5 inches towards the forest, he glanced behind and noticed a gem was being levitated in a blue magical aura as he stopped and lifted up his good paw and let the gem be placed onto his paw he then turned to Rarity and slightly smiled.
"if you don't want me to help with your injured leg then at least take this as a token of my gratitude" she said in an elegant graceful tone.
"thank you miss Rarity" Dusko replied as he let out a smile and carried the gem with his mouth and continued to walk on into the forest, Rarity went on her way and was thinking what decision he would make.
At the top of Everfree peak was Dusko his leg heavily bleeding and his left eye was starting to swell, he lay down at top looking onward towards Ponyville while licking his injured leg as he thought deeply about Rarity's offer.
'sigh' "I can't do this can I??..." he thought as stopped licking his left leg and gazed at the moon.
"what decision shall I choose" he spoke out loud to the moon.
Your probably wondering why I'm talking to the moon, well we Everfreeians or any other tribal related creatures have a mythological legend that has gone on for generations, and it all began when ancient earth pony tribes had a ancient ritual that can help to communicate with the moon by drawing a symbol of the moon and embracing the moon's light while speaking the words of the night. But creatures like wolves reflect in the moons illuminating light which makes the breeze howl the moons whispering wise words, sounds confusing and strange I know but I like to call it a instinctual superstition.
A soothing breeze had flourished into the air from the moon coming down onto Dusko, as the breeze blew around him Dusko closed his eyes and listened to the wise whispering of the breeze from the moon.
"I don't understand. What are you trying to say" Dusko said directly to the moon.
Another gust of breeze had flourished towards Dusko his ears twitching from the breeze whispers of the moon, as he glanced at the dancing leaves that were flourishing with the breeze as they flew around his injured leg and back towards his ears he then opened his eyes and looked over the distance towards Ponyville.
"I can't believe I'm doing this" he spoke with grief but he knew his leg weren't gonna heal without help, and began to let out a strong howl.
Rarity had made it back to her Boutique and notice a sleeping unicorn filly on her step, she then set aside the cart with gems but the clinking from the gems had awoken the sleeping filly.
"huh?... who's there" said the little filly squinting her eyes open, until some candles were lit and the light had hurt her eyes from her sleepy state.
After rubbing her eyes she noticed her big sister Rarity and jumped towards her and hugged her big sister tight.
"Oh Rarity I was so scared you wouldn't come home," the filly said hugging Rarity, Rarity smiled and wrapped her hoof around the filly who started to cry tears of joy.
"It's alright Sweetie Belle I'm here now" Rarity said comforting her little sister.
Sweetie Belle let go of her sister and noticed Rarity was walking to her first aid box, picking it up off her shelf with her telekinesis and as she opened it she checked through what was in it and whether she had enough.
"bandages, disinfected... mmm only one plaster... I guess I can get help from Fluttershy since she loves helping out animals" Rarity murmured as she noticed Sweetie Belle was still watching her with a confused expression her face.
"Um Rarity?... What are you doing" said by the confused little filly, before Rarity could say anything she put her forehoof around Sweetie Belle's shoulder and led her towards the stairs until.
Rarity looked back at the window and her eyes widened when she heard that howl, she knew it was his, due to it's soft soothingness, Rarity quickly composed herself.
"Sweetie Belle go back to bed I'll explain everything in the morning" Rarity smiled as she glanced at the door.
The little filly had done what she was told but as she walked up the stairs, she caught a glimpse of her big sister running out and looked at her with a suspicious look of confusion but none the less Sweetie Belle did as she was told but was still curious.
Before going to the Everfree Rarity made a stop at Fluttershy's cottage; the cottage was small but cozy filled with birdhouses and burrows where all the animals would sleep the roof of the cottage was a flat rounded moss surface which kept it nice and dry. Inside the cottage the whole decor reflected everything the resident of the property loved, more birdhouses hung from above, there were shelves of books titled how to handle different species of animal, and books about all behaviours of different animals. Up the stairs was a single bedroom, sleeping the bed was an adorable yellow pegasus mare with a long flourishing pink mane and tail who's sleeping peacefully, until a loud knock on her door had startled her from peaceful slumber.
'yawn' "who could that be... It's still dark" the shy pegasus said in a quiet soft gentle tone.
She gets out of bed rubbing her eyes with her fore hooves and started to walk down the stairs towards the front door, and as she opened it slowly it was somepony she would of never expected.
"Rarity... it's a bit late isn't it" Fluttershy spoke still rubbing her eyes.
"I'm so sorry Fluttershy but I need your help" Rarity explained as she looked exhausted from the day she had, she was more exhausted than that day she had to redo her friends Gala dresses.
"Can't it wait until morn..." she was then interrupted.
"Fluttershy there's a creature who is in dire need of medical attention and I need your help to treat his injuries" Rarity spoke looking desperate.
Fluttershy's eyes widened as she moved her right forehoof over her mouth and gasped "oh dear the poor thing" she spoke sounding worried for the poor creature Rarity spoke about.
"So that's why I need your help" Rarity said with a smile.
Fluttershy took a deep breath and quietly sighed "ok I'll do it. so what's the plan" she spoke curiously but also willing knowing she was gonna help a poor creature.
"Ok then... if you have any spare medical supplies then bring them" Rarity spoke very firmly since she was in a hurry to get to Dusko.
Fluttershy didn't know what to think that seemed in a hurry to help this creature and she couldn't argue about that especially if a poor innocent animal needed help, she grabbed most of her badages, ointments, plasters and disinfected all in her saddlebags and headed out with Rarity.
It had been a few minutes and Dusko was waiting outside of the forest, he started to feel weak due to the massive amount of blood loss also he started to feel sick from the horrendous amount of blood, his eye was blowing up like a balloon he could barely open it, also due to the state he was in gave him a head banging migraine which felt like to hammers were banging down on his skull.
"what's taking her so long" he wondered glancing all directions.
Ok it wouldn't surprise me if she went back on her offer and decided she wasn't going to help me I mean who would help a wolf anyway, or maybe she went to tell the equestrian authorities to capture me and possibly experiment on me or worse even kill me. Wait what I'm saying she didn't seem the type to do that, plus it was her idea to take me in, so why I'm thinking like that snap out of it Dusky. Dusko used his right paw to slap him out of his crazy talk and ended hitting his swollen eye.
"AHHHH!!!" he screamed from the agonising pain from that hit.
"Ok that was not smart" he spoke out loud clenching his eye as he winced in agony as his eye began to run filled with water that started flowing out like a river.
he was about to open his eyes until he saw two blurry silhouettes of one pony. Wait what two ponies now, Dusko was about to panic since he was too weak to run away and since his vision was blurred he couldn't tell which one was Rarity.
"Rarity" he spoke as he fell to the floor, seeing nothing but blurry surroundings.
Off in the distance Rarity and Fluttershy saw Dusko on the ground and quickly sprinted towards him, Fluttershy was about to be in tears as she was in shock in the condition he was in, and not to mention how much pain he must be in.
"So this wolf got into this state because he protected you and Spike from timberwolves" she spoke looking horrified.
"Thats right..." she then returned her attention to Dusko and she was also in shock cause how bad he looked "Dusko, Dusko, oh dear Fluttershy let's get him back to your place since it's closer" Rarity spoke as she used her telekinesis to place Dusko on her's and Fluttershy's back.
"good idea... I guess" she began to feel a bit uncomfortable not about bringing a wolf into her home, but more like what would her little critters think and Harry the bear would probably attack the wolf.
The two mares had walk back to the cottage with the unconscious wolf on they're backs, as they reached for the cottage door Rarity opened it with her magic and gently hovered Dusko on some cushy pillows next to the fireplace, and lit all the candle lights to light the place up, while Fluttershy got out her medical supplies and started cleaning Dusko's wound on his leg first. At first she started gently rubbing a cloth with disinfected on his leg as he let out a loud growl.
Dusko's eyes bursted open as he growled from the pain and confusion, glared at Fluttershy who seem to be staring him down which only confused even more.
"huh?... why are you staring at me like that" he spoke raising an eyebrow confused on what this pegasus was doing.
"Fluttershy I don't think using your stare on Dusko is going to work" Rarity pointed out as she saw Dusko not reacting like the pegasus's animals.
Dusko turned his head and saw Rarity "Stare... what are you ponies talking about" looking at the two mares in front of him.
Fluttershy continued tending to Dusko wounds,while Rarity comforted him, Dusko on the other hand felt like his life was falling apart he felt like he was being domesticated and thinking to himself why he agreed to this idea. But it didn't matter he had a good feeling from these ponies and started to think "some ponies aren't all bad" he thought as he let out a smile.
Chapter 2: there's nothing to fear than an Everfreeian
Ok today has been quite bizarre, not only did I save a pony and a dragon from my rival cousins, now I've agreed to stay with a pony until my injuries heal today as been quite a day. Anyway the yellow pegasus mare who was named Fluttershy and I'm not gonna lie that name, face and voice made my heart explode and I can't believe I just said that, oh phoenix feathers spending time with ponies is turning me into a soft touch.
It was 3 in the morning and Rarity was starting to feel drowsy her mane was a bedraggled mess, and bags were beginning to show on her eyes but she managed for a while. Fluttershy was just about finishing the bandaging on Dusko's leg after him letting out a couple of growls and snarls, but he seem to stop when Rarity told him to behave and to be honest he hated the fact he was being told what to do and what not to do, but he gave in in the end cause something inside knew he could trust these ponies and how they didn't want to harm him but to only help him.
"there you should be ok now. I would recommend you rest up for a few months to let the bone heal" Fluttershy said calmly as she smiled at Dusko as he gave a cute puppy-dog smile.
"thank you miss Fluttershy" Dusko replied as he looked at his bandaged leg and then back to Fluttershy "hey wait... where's Rarity" as he said that the wolf and Pegasus caught a glance of the white unicorn who was sleeping with her head on Fluttershy's table.
Both the wolf and pegasus giggled at the sight, until Dusko got up on all fours and gently lifted Rarity on his back and headed towards the door until he stopped and turned to Fluttershy.
"do you know where Rarity lives" he spoke as he turned his head to Fluttershy.
"go deep into Ponyville and follow the signs for carousel boutique" Fluttershy explained, Dusko smiled and was on his way Rarity still asleep on his back.
Dusko had made it into Ponyville and what he see's triggers a memory of when he was a pup and all Ponyville was just a small little settlement filled with earth ponies farming the lands, as he followed the signs to Carousel Boutique he was sighted by a Pegasus stallion who started to fly towards the bell tower and got out the megaphone that was being to alert ponies of the situation.
Dusko knew what was happening an quickly bolted to Carousel Boutique, as he heard that bell that sounded like thunder ringing in his ears, ponies waking up from their slumber switching on their lights which made Dusko panic a lot more knowing that other ponies might spot him, as he was about to reach to the door to Carousel Boutique Rarity had slipped off his back his eyes widened in shock and bolted straight to her and used his muzzle to flip her onto his back and head into the building as he used his right paw to push the door open and as soon as he entered the fragrances were surrounding his nose that felt like it was burning his smell senses as he scrunched his nose so he couldn't smell the strong fragrances as he shut the door which also awoken a sleeping Rarity who slid off his back again.
"huh..." Rarity came out with confused on how she got here "oh my how did I get home" she exclaimed confusingly as she caught sight of Dusko who held out his paw, Rarity was surprised seeing how grumpy and rude he was when she first spoke to him he is quite the gentlecolt or gentlewolf.
"what's with the gentlecolt attitude" she spoke as she took Dusko's paw and stood up.
"hahahaha..." Dusko laughed then quickly moved his face right into Rarity's and scowled "don't push your luck," Dusko then stepped back and walked over to Rarity's fainting couch as everypony called it and lay down it.
Rarity used her telekinesis and levitated a blanket from the pile of dried washing from the washing basket, and gentle placed it on him as Rarity smiled in delight as she walked up the stairs to her bedroom. Dusko's eyes widened as soon as he felt a warm cozy sensation on his body, he lifted his head and looked down at the weird looking um he didn't know what it was or what it was for but having it as comfort and warm felt so relaxing which made him smile for the first in a long time as he fell back to sleep.
The whole town had awoken from their peaceful slumber still in their dressing gowns and slippers as they rubbed their eyes trying to wake themselves up. The pegasus stallion who was named Knight Rider had flew down towards everypony in panic.
"What is it now Mr Knight Rider this better be important" said the sandy coloured grey maned and tailed mare.
"there's a... a Wolf in Ponyville... Not just any wolf it was an Everfreeian" after Knight Rider spoke everypony started screaming and running amok, the fillies and colts had jumped into their parents and siblings arms scared.
"Everypony!!! Everypony may I have your attention please" the ponies weren't listening as they continued to panic until a purple alicorn had quickly bolted on top the stage next to the mayor casted a containment field spell.
"EEEEENOUGH!!!" the purple alicorn shouted, everypony stopped instantly when their eyes caught sight of the alicorn Princess.
"Princess Twilight what should we do if there's a wolf rampaging around Ponyville" said the mayor who was panicking, before Twilight spoke Knight Rider flew up in the air.
"When I caught sight of this Everfreeian wolf it appeared to have some pony on it's back" after Knight Rider spoke everypony started to panic even more, until Twilight used her containment spell again, and called over the pink party pony over.
"Pinkie since you know everypony in town count how many are here" Twilight exclaimed to her, "I'm on it" Pinkie said determinedly as she scanned through everypony and bolted back to her alicorn friend.
"Everypony's here except for Rarity" said the pink party pony in her serious tone, everypony looked worried, until the mayor had made her way to the podium.
"Everypony please remain calm I will get in touch with Princess Celestia to see if some members of the royal guards can come to Ponyville and keep watch for this dangerous beast" after speaking to the crowd the mayor turned to Princess Twilight "you and your friends go to Carousel Boutique check if Rarity has seen anything." Twilight nodded and whistled with her hoof and jumped off the stage with Pinkie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy following behind.
Twilight and the rest of her friends had made it to Carousel Boutique, before Twilight knocked she turned to her friends.
"alright girls be vigilant the wolf may be in there" Twilight was then interrupted by the soft tone of Fluttershy.
"there is a wolf in there he rescued Rarity and Spike from timberwolves" as soon as Fluttershy mentioned this news the others were shocked in silence until Applejack broke the awkward silence.
"I'm guessing you've seen this wolf before Fluttershy" Applejack spoke in her southern country tone.
"sigh... Yes I helped Rarity treat his wounds" she nervously spoke as she slightly smiled.
Rainbow dash on the other hoof was a bit more skeptical and flew over her friends and knocked the door.
The knocking had awoken Rarity, Sweetie Belle and Dusko from their peaceful slumber, and the first Dusko did was jump behind the couch and used the blanket to hide. Both Rarity and Sweetie Belle walked down the stairs and Sweetie Belle noticed something under that blanket, Rarity noticed her little sisters curiosity and her telekinesis on the blanket, and it revealed Dusko who growled and pointed at the door with his paw and quickly bolted behind one of the dressing rooms.
Rarity then walked to the door to open it and Rainbow dash had flew in with a frown "Rarity there's a wolf in Ponyville and Fluttershy said you and her helped a wolf with his injuries" as Rainbow was talking, Dusko decided he should probably reveal himself he didn't like this idea but he knew he had to besides he sensed something about these ponies especially the purple one with the horn and wings.
"Oh dear... Dusko must of been spotted by somepony" Rarity spoke not noticing that her friends and little sister were present in the room.
"uh who's this Dusko?' Applejack spoke confusingly until one of the curtains from the dressing rooms had rustled, Rainbow rushed towards and opened the curtains as soon as she and the others caught sight of Dusko they were taken a back as they caught of Dusko his long claws capable of ripping things to shreds his height as big as a normal stallion and his razor sharp teeth that could rip anything apart from just one bite,as Rainbow looked at him she cringed in fear as he began to walk toward them.
"I'm Dusko the one that saved miss Rarity and a Spike the dragon from the timberwolves" he frowned as he started to circle all the mares and the filly "By now you must know I'm an Everfreeian artic grey wolf the most rare and dangerous species of all wolves, the Timberwolves don't take to kindly to my kind. And for why I saved Rarity's life is because I've seen what the Timberwolves do to their prey and when I heard the scream I just couldn't let that happen" Dusko explained as all the ponies looked at him curiously.
Sweetie Belle walked towards Dusko and started stroking his leg and hugged it "oh thank you for saving my sister oh thank you, thank you" Sweetie Belle said smiling at the wolf, it wasn't until everypony else started thanking him for saving their friends but two ponies didn't seem to trust him, Rainbow and Applejack kept frowning with a suspicious eye. Pinkie Pie came up from behind him and give him a big hug like he was a teddy bear, Rarity used her magic to release Dusko from Pinkie's grasp.
"Please you mustn't tell anypony Dusko is here please pinkie promise" Rarity begged at her friends and little sister as they all gestured and said "cross my heart hope to fly stick a cupcake in my eye" they said in unison.
After the ponies introduced themselves to Dusko he answered some of their questions, some were understandable and some questions seem a bit to personal for the wolf's liking.
So they asked questions about me understandable, so I answered their questions they were mostly about where I came from?, are their more Everfreeian wolves out there?, why are the timberwolves my rival cousins?, you name it they said it of course there were questions I couldn't ask since they were personal and basically they were about my past which I don't really like to talk about anyway. I dare not trend the path in the past, to many painful memories I don't want to look back on plus theres that saying it's better to leave the past in the past and never look back, So yeah. Back to these ponies, they seem to trust me but that Rainbow winged one and the orange one with the hat who were named Rainbow Dash and Applejack they looked at me in a very suspicious way, like they didn't trust me which is understandable I am a very dangerous species of wolves, but what they didn't know which makes me different towards other wolves Everfreeian or not I have a heart but if anyone ticks me off then your in a world of pain cause I won't have mercy on you.
Celestia had risen the sun as it beamed down the town of Ponyville and all the ponies had left the Boutique, and Pinkie jumped up behind Dusko and gave him another big hug.
"It was great to meet you Dusky, I'll be sure to throw you a party" Pinkie said has she started to stroke him on his head.
Dusko pushed his front paws towards the pink earth pony mare and moved her away from him.
"personal space miss Pinkie Pie" Dusko growled then he started to walked towards Rarity's couch and lay back on it.
All the 5 mares walked out the Boutique and waved as they said their goodbyes until the next time they meet, as Rarity waved back she then closed the door and turned to the wolf on her couch who looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"you really think your friends can keep this secret" Dusko spoke as he began to cross his front paws, forgetting that his broken leg was bandaged seeing how he's never had a bandage on before made him winced from the agonising pain, Rarity gently placed a pillow in fronton Dusko and gently placed his leg down on it.
"My friends are trustworthy Dusko and I know they don't seem to like the idea but they agreed to keep quiet around everypony else in town" Rarity responded as she gently placed the pillow on Dusko's injured leg.
Dusko never attempted to growl at the white unicorn, like he knew inside she was trying help him, and also he could sense that she and her sister and her friends were trustworthy.
Meanwhile the 5 mares were very cautions knowing that an Everfreeian wolf was in their friends home but after meeting Dusko themselves most of them felt ok knowing that he wasn't as bad they thought since he saved Rarity and Spike. Except Rainbow Dash and Applejack they didn't seem to impressed sure he seemed like he was telling the truth, but the problem was that he is a wolf a very dangerous species knowing one was in the home and company of one of their friends just made them nervous.
"Do you think Dusko was telling the truth" Rainbow dash suspiciously said with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm pretty sure he was telling the truth, if he was lieing I think we'd be dead by now" Twilight exclaimed.
"Are ya sure bout that Twi, he is a dangerous wolf, what do you reckon" Applejack spoke not entirely sure about Dusko being here, which made her nervous seeing how one of her dear friends is taken care of him.
Twilight didn't know what to think, but what she did know is that he sounded trustworthy she then turned to her friends.
"We keep Dusko a secret to everypony in town but we're just gonna have to be vigilant" Twilight said the 4 mares nodded and went on their way to their business.
A couple of hours had past, and Dusko was awoken from the smell of burning, but there was something else he could smell it smelt quite fascinating. Dusko sat up and gently got off the sofa and cautiously walked toward what seem to be a kitchen or something he had no idea, as he entered the room and the smoke started to clear, he saw Sweetie Belle Rarity's sister, and it looked like she was cooking something.
As I entered this room which I found out is called a kitchen it sounded fitting somehow don't ask me why I don't even know, apparently it's where ponies keep their food, hey don't look at me like that I'm a wild animal who's lived out in the wilderness and had to fend for myself not to mention I hunt for my food. I mean come on a wild animal like me doesn't get these luxurious that's way more like a domestic life. Anyway I walked in this kitchen and as soon as the smoke cleared I saw that little filly Sweetie Belle and it looked like she was... Huh what's that word um. Wait!... do you know it what is it tell me?... That's it!!! Cooking thanks guys.
"uh... Sweetie Belle?" Dusko gently spoke as he approached the young filly.
Sweetie Belle let out a little shriek as she turned and saw Dusko standing behind her, his large claws which look like they could cut through anything, then his teeth those sharp things could rip through anything, even thinking about what creature got in his way made her cringe in fear.
"oh hi... Dusko right." she responded nervously, Dusko looked at the filly sensing that she was nervous of him, so he kneeled down carefully until he was level with the little filly and placed his good paw on Sweetie Belle's chin and gently smiled.
"Don't worry I'm not like other wolves" he smiled, Sweetie Belle smiled as well and quickly got back to her cooking, Dusko stood up and walked towards a table with a tray of some sought of food and carefully took a whiff from it.
"huh?... What is that stuff" he pointed at the food on the tray with his good paw as he looked at Sweetie Belle confusingly, Sweetie Belle to face Dusko as he confusingly looked at the breakfast she cooked for Rarity,
"it's some breakfast I made for Rarity and I'm going to bring it up to her. Do you want to help me Dusko" Sweetie Belle exclaimed as she smiled at the wolf who was giving quite a confused look.
"Is this something you do all the time for Rarity" he spoke even more curious.
"Sometimes if I stay at Rarity's" Sweetie Belle was then interrupted, "so you don't actually live here" Dusko spoke with his head tilted as he raised an eyebrow.
"Not exactly but I do like to spend time with my sister if she's working on a new fashion line then I always like to help, and I one day I hope to be just like her" Sweetie Belle exclaimed, Dusko just smiled as he found it so adorable how Sweetie belle looked up to Rarity like that and as he processed what the young filly said he looked back when he was a pup, and none of his siblings wanted nothing to do with him.
After Dusko snapped out his concentration he turned to Sweetie Belle again as she was about to bring the breakfast up to Rarity, "hey do you need some help" he called out and Sweetie Belle smiled and let him help her open the Rarity's door, and just as Sweetie placed the tray on the bed with her magic and Dusko howled a sweet morning tune that had awoken a sleeping Rarity who was surprised what she saw wasn't just the breakfast on her bed it was Dusko standing next to her little sister until the napkin on the tray had dropped off but Dusko knelt down and gently picked up with his mouth and placed it back on the tray, and was about to turnaround to the door.
"You don't have to leave" Rarity gently spoked, Dusko turned his head "are you sure?" he confusingly spoke as walked back towards the two sisters.
"How did your leg get injured" Sweetie Belle asked, Dusko sat explained to Sweetie Belle what happened last night along with Rarity, who eating her breakfast that Sweetie Belle made for her and after she finished she got out of bed and brushed her mane while Dusko went to grab the tray until he saw Rarity doing something with her mane.
"uh?... Rarity what are you doing?" Dusko spoke as Rarity turned around to talk to him "what do you mean what I'm doing" she replied with as she levitated her brush with her telekinesis.
"That thing your holding, what the hell are doing some sought of grooming technique" he curiously Rarity looked at him then at her hairbrush "I use this hairbrush to brush my mane, it's what ponies do after they get out of bed to brush all the knots out their mane because no-pony likes a bedraggled mane, well at least I don't" Rarity explained as Dusko looked her confusingly.
"Interesting?... Well I'm gonna just pick this tray up and go help Sweetie Belle" as awkwardly grinned and power walked his way down to the kitchen to Sweetie Belle, and placed the tray on the counter and started to panic.
"No, no, no, no, no, no... I regret my decision bad move, bad, bad, bad" he then looked at his bandaged leg and started yelling "THIS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!..."he shouted and smacked on the kitchen table until he realised what he just did and whimpered along with a bit on wincing from the agonising pain.
As Dusko was having his regretful moment, Applejack and Fluttershy had come by carrying what seemed to be food, Sweetie Belle turned her attention to the earth pony and the pegasus mares.
"Hi Applejack, hi Fluttershy what have you got there" Sweetie Belle said as she pointed at the baskets the mares were carrying.
"Since Dusko's here and he won't be able to live up to his wolf instincts I've been looking up what wolves eat and well I'd thought me and Applejack might have what he likes" Fluttershy exclaimed.
"Someon... I mean somepony say food" Dusko pricked up and walked up to Fluttershy and Applejack "what's in those" he started to sound excited "I wonder if it's a deer leg or squirrel or or or fish oh god I could go for some fish right about now" he thought to himself as he began drooling.
Considering Applejack doesn't trust him she couldn't help but giggle at his little daydream drool as it reminded her how her dog winona would act around food.
Fluttershy and Applejack both placed the baskets down and opened them up what Fluttershy's basket revealed made Dusko lick his lips and his eyes looked like they were gonna pop out of his head he was excited until he then caught sight of Applejack's basket.
"uh excuse me miss... Applejack what is that" he said as he pointed to Applejack's basket.
Applejack pulled out some of her famous apple treats out of her baskets, such as the apple pie, the apple fritters, caramel apples and wait.
"Wait just a minute... why are those apples rainbow coloured?" Dusko asked confusingly.
I've seen what apples look like but I've never seen rainbow coloured ones and I can assure you guys I'm not eating magic mushrooms, I mean I know these ponies are herbivores and they don't eat meat like me, but seriously Rainbow apples.
Anyway Applejack explained that these Rainbow apples are in fact called zap apples, which kinda made sense when I took a bite from one of them it gave me a bit of a shock but tasted really sweet and I mean sweet and this coming from a creature who's eaten wild berries in the Everfree all his life.
After Applejack explained to Dusko what zap apples were, went back to Fluttershy's basket as he opened it with his paws the smell of fish flourished through his senses, not to mention the Applejack's apple treats, so Dusko thought of an idea he took the apple pie used his claw to cut it open from the top and once he done that he placed the fish inside the pie and placed the top back on the pie and swallowed the whole thing. As he was chewing he could feel the fish bone as he used his paw to go to his mouth and pull the fish bone out and threw into basket, after he was finished he was licking the juice of the fish off his paws and then pat his chest letting out a humongous burp.
After he finished his huge burp he notice a little rabbit behind Fluttershy and he couldn't help but lick his lips at the little creature, Angel looked horrified and threw an apple fritter at Dusko's face.
Dusko quickly wiped the apple fritter off his face and growled at the little bunny who was goading Dusko to chase him, and so he did with his leg in a bandage that wasn't going to stop him until Applejack grabbed a piece of rope out of no-where, and made it into a lasso and caught Dusko around the neck bringing him off his legs.
"haha hey ladies sorry about that" he awkwardly spoke while the ponies looked at him as he grinned awkwardly until Rarity used her telekinesis to pick him up off the ground and put him back on his paws and moved right in his face frowning at him.
"Now listen here Dusko I know you may not agree what we ponies do here or you make not like it, but the least you can do is show some respect for poor defenceless animals like angel and my cat Opal who will stay away from you" she spoke as she frowned at Dusko.
"Respect... defenceless... Sounds familiar oh yeah back in the Everfree when I saved your life, don't you dare say I don't have respect you keep talking to me like that and your making me regret saving you" he angrily spoke.
Rarity felt shocked on what he said until she got back on him "you need to control that temper of yours" Dusko's eyes widened and turned back into a scowl as he went straight in Rarity's face "I know I'm not sounding nice but your lucky cause I would of ripped you to shreds" after he spoke the other ponies looked shocked and Sweetie Belle went to her big sister and wrapped her hoof around Rarity's foreleg in fright of Dusko's words.
Dusko could see he was scaring the little filly, he then looked at Fluttershy who was calming her pet bunny Angel and Applejack kept her eye on Dusko if he tend to fight back, Dusko then looked back at Rarity who stood her ground with him and he admired that but more importantly he knew he never meant what he said.
"I'm sorry about that" he gently said as his ears folded down and made is way to Rarity's couch and lay down on it thinking what he regretted saying and more or less thinking that his own instincts was is downfall for his start of the day and he would have to learn to control himself and his temper.
Time had past, during his time alone as he thought about what he said to Rarity that he didn't want to save her which was an obvious lie seeing how he cared about others more than the timberwolves, not to mention family, and while Dusko thought about family he glanced at Rarity and Sweetie Belle hugging until Sweetie Belle walked towards the door and out the boutique, Rarity then closed the door and noticed Dusko looking and all she gave was a awkward smile at him as he quickly turned away still feeling guilty. And all he kept thinking was, if he really was that heartless he would of ignored the scream for help and just let Rarity and Spike die. But there was something inside of him that was telling him he doing the right thing by letting this pony help him, Dusko could only imagine that he would be branded a domestic sap for which is nothing more than a traitor to all wolf kind, but being the type of wolf that Dusko is that doesn't seem to bother him he's been a lone wolf since he was able to walk, all his family disappeared and all he could see were earth pony tribe settlements which made him think they killed his kind, so he went roaming from place to place stumbling onto Ponyville before it became a fully functioning town as it is now with nothing but a few earth ponies tending the land. He recalls that moment on that day he was lonely, starving, scared and tired and was chased out by two very strong-looking stallions who were throwing pitch-forks and waving torches at him until they drove him back into the Everfree forest.
That was when the timberwolves found him and took him in and taught him how to fend for himself like teaching him how to hunt and also teaching the ways of the timber wolf which was nothing but bloody torture, and still to that day Dusko would not want to look back upon it, which is the timberwolves little torture game, when the timberwolves hunt for their prey more so if it's a pony mare or filly or stallion or colt, they would drag them into the darkness and torture the living hell out of their prey sounds disgusting right, why do you think Dusko left the timberwolves to proceed his own path and since he never wanted to talk about his past, for a 20 year old wolf still younger than any of the other species of wolves due to his lack of growth into his everfreeian families environment, and him mostly fearing over the loyal protectors of they're homeland and forbidding themselves to becoming into contact with any other creature other than they're own species. But what Dusko did know about his species that they were xenophobic and didn't want to reveal themselves among others, not to mention dangerous and far more frightening than Dusko, in a way you could say Dusko was even freighted of them as well considering he's one of them but there was one thing he didn't have which all other Everfreeians had which was, wings. Now Dusko heard that most Everfreeians had wings especially when he was a pup knowing and wishing that someday he would earn his wings, but as time went by that never became true, so he kinda forgot about it and treated that legend to be a old time story that would not probably be real or wouldn't even happen to him, though that's always been Dusko's dream to feel the wind in his fur and fly along with the birds, maybe if he ever did earn his wings maybe the other everfreeians would come for him and he'd probably find out who he is supposed to be.
But right now all he can do is wait for his leg to heal up so he'd be fit and ready to go back to the Everfree his one and truly place to call home back to his cave up the top of everfree peak, but while he was in Ponyville stuck inside of a boutique being cared for by a pony he saved plus her little sister and also her friends. But things weren't going particularly well ever since Dusko was spotted by Knight Rider, Mayor mare had got in contact with princess Celestia to see if any of the royal guard could come out to Ponyville and keep watch for Dusko if he was sighted again, and to make it worse prince Blueblood was summoned to Ponyville not just to keep the guards stationary but he had his suspicions about this everfreeian wolf. Dusko watched from the windows of Carousel Boutique and could see these stallions in golden armour stationary around entrances and what looks to be they would go around talking to random ponies, Dusko was the distracted when Rarity came in looking nervous as she walked over to Dusko.
"This is just dreadful absolutely dreadful" said Rarity who was glancing from Dusko and then to the window to where the royal guards are.
"What's going on out there, what's with all those ponies in golden armour" he responded while tilting his head.
"Since you were spotted last night the royal guards are keeping an eye for you and I dread to think what they would do to you" she spoke dreadfully imagining what would happen if her saviour was captured.
After Rarity spoke there was a knocking on her door, and as soon as Dusko heard the loud commotion he quickly ducked down underneath the kitchen table while Rarity took a table cover and placed it over the table enough to make Dusko unseeable, as she turned to open the door and to her surprise two members of the royal guard were at the door.
"Excuse me miss is your name Rarity" said one of the guards.
"Why yes. yes it is "she replied with a smile with also a hint of nervousness as she quickly glimpsed at the table while the guards were whispering at each other.
The other royal guard walked forward "we have reason to believe you were the only one who never attended the urgent gather up, and don't worry your not in trouble we just need to know why?", the guard then ordered his partner to search the area.
Dusko who was under the kitchen table started to cringe when the guard who was searching came into the kitchen and a little bit of Dusko's tail peeked out and with the guards wearing golden plated horseshoes the pressure on Dusko's tail was so intense he clenched his claws into the floor and to stop him from screaming at the top of his lungs he began to bite his tongue and put his good paw to his mouth as the pain on his tail was so intense.
Rarity saw Dusko's tail peeking out a bit and cringed a bit when the guard who was searching the place had stepped on the wolf's tail, she then noticed the other guard looking at her waiting for her to respond, she quickly turned her attention to the guard and took a deep sigh to settle her nerves.
"I was here all night sleeping, due to the fact I was exhausted after collecting gems for my fashion business" she exclaimed.
The guard who was questioning Rarity gently smiled and nodded and gestured for his partner to come along.
"That's all ma'am but if you see anything suspicious then let us know" the guard said as his partner walked out the door.
"I'll be sure to" Rarity said pretending to encourage them, and closed door as they walked back out into the town.
"Oh my howling moons of great balls of fire I'd thought they'd never leave" Dusko exclaimed looking at is tail after it was stepped on, Rarity walked towards Dusko to check to see if his tail was all right.
"Don't worry miss Rarity I'm fine it's just little sore" he spoke while smiling gently, Rarity gently smiled back and then noticed that the time was getting on and quickly trotted to her work room.
"there are some things I must attend to" she said trotting up hurrying up the stairs.
Dusko couldn't help but just stare at Rarity with curiosity and confusion, and with his curiosity getting the best of him as he carefully followed Rarity up the stairs to her fashion workshop room, and as he reached the door way the mannequins in the room made him feel uncomfortable as he remembered one time seeing a hunter pony's shack hoarded with stuffed animals from the Everfree which made him sick that day, and only just the thought of it made him feel sick again. Rarity turned to see Dusko's face as he looked like he was about to pass out while he was staring shockingly at the mannequins.
"Uh?... Dusko?... are you... um?... alright" she spoke looking worried at her saviour, as she began to walk towards him slowly and extended her hoof and gently poked him in the shoulder and with that slight bit of contact made him jump.
"AH!!... What are those things" he screamed out as he looked at Rarity terrified, Rarity put her hoof around Dusko to calm him down glanced from Rarity and then back to the mannequins.
"Easy there Dusko they're mannequins" Rarity calmly explained, Dusko looked at her with a raised eyebrow "what's a mannequin?. and why do they look like ponies that have been" he begins to cringe slightly "stuffed" he then gulped at the last word.
The words he was saying about the mannequins made her shiver at such a thought, as she was about to speak she couldn't help but let out a little giggle as he cautiously looked at the mannequin like a puppy exploring it's new surroundings.
Dusko frowned at Rarity since he didn't like being made a fool out of, he then walked up to Rarity still frowning, Rarity looked deep into his eyes but again she never feared his gaze.
"I'm sorry, I do apologise Dusko I never meant to offend you" she spoke apologetically Dusko just looked at her and then pointed back to the mannequins demanding for an explanation.
So Rarity composed herself and sat and explained what the mannequins are and that they're not ponies at have been stuffed and in fact they were made out of polystyrene a material that fascinated Dusko he then reached out his paw to feel the mannequin, after that he then looked apologetically at Rarity.
"I'm sorry but thanks for that little lesson" Dusko began smile as he felt the interest to learn more everything about this subject and even the history peaked his interest.
"um Rarity..." Rarity had her attention on Dusko as he smiled with a hint of nervousness "I'd like to learn more if you don't mind" he spoke as he slightly grinned, Rarity was at a lost for words no-pony except for her sister, but no-pony as ever asked her to teach them, it almost made her nearly tear up. she greatly smiled and gesture for Dusko to follow. Dusko had never seen anything like it, I mean he's known ponies wear clothes but they were tribal garbs but what Rarity was doing was just like another language being translated, Rarity couldn't believe her eyes how this wolf wanted to learn from her, as he took in everything she had said and he even spoke out a few ideas with to her surprise was inspiration, and of course there were things that Dusko didn't like, for example the way Rarity stresses passed him as she rushes to find something when it's literally in the same place it was before.
But there was one thing that caught Dusko's attention, the gems that were attached to a outfit he then curiously walked to towards it and started to sniff the gems that we're on it.
"uh... Rarity?" Dusko spoke gently, as Rarity turned to face him as he began to point out at the gems she had put on her fashion line.
"Are you sure some of your choices of gems are real" he explained as he examined each gem on every outfit, Rarity was taken a back by this she never thought that some of the gems were fake, "I assume that they are" she spoke a bit worrisome as she thought to herself were her choices a good thing, would sapphire shores still appreciate them if some of the gems were fake.
Dusko noticed her worrisome look and walked over to her and put his paw around her "it's ok no need to panic you ponies wouldn't know the difference but let me show me you what I mean" he reassured her as he gently smiled, he then walked over to the cart of gems and sniffed them to find both a real one and a fake one, as soon as he found the two he was looking for, he went back to Rarity and set aside the two gems.
"Ok Rarity since you seem to have a good eye for fashion, which gem seems to sparkle more" he explained, Rarity with her fore hoof to her chin and a think as she looked at the two gems in front of her.
After several minutes of examining the gems in front her she finally had made her decision on which was the real one.
"That one of course" she spoke rather confidently as she pointed out with fore hoof to the gem on the right, Dusko admired her confidence for a moment until he lent down and sniffed the gem one more time to see if she was right.
He began to smile and looked up to Rarity and nodded, Rarity couldn't believe it she knew she had a good eye for fashion and which gem she chose looked the most glamorous but actually guessing which gem was the real really amazed her.
Dusko than began to tap the two gems with his claw and the fake made a horrible clanking noise and the real one made a sweet jingle noise, but what Rarity found truly incredible was when Dusko took all the gems that were real and put them altogether in a pile and gently blew on them with his breath and all of a sudden the gems began to glow and float in mid air, Rarity couldn't believe her eyes; the rubies were dazzling, the sapphires were dazzling, all the gems were so amazingly dazzling. While Rarity was distracted by the magical floating gems and whether Dusko was warming up to this pony made him a little uncomfortable, and he kept thinking would his loyalty be tested with his friendship which kinda scared him a bit.
"She is quite beautiful if I do say so, but I can't say anything like that to Rarity, she might find it weird I mean it's even strange that she treats me like a friend and I've never had many friends at first I never knew what friendship meant, until now Rarity had taught me everything and when her friend Twilight Sparkle came over I learned so much more the knowledge that she had was so inspirational, I could listen to it over and over again she was quite the teacher." "The others like Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie always knew how to cheer me up, Fluttershy would come to check on my leg and put new bandages on it, plus she always rewarded me with fish which I couldn't argue there. And Pinkie Pie promised me to throw a party for me and that night I lost count how many sugar rushes I had, but luckily Fluttershy knew how to calm me down when a had to much, plus Rarity was teaching me some manners and let's not mention the other to two ponies Applejack and Rainbow dash who were suspicious about me started to see me as friendly but there was still a hint of suspicion."
While the girls were having a good time, that little dragon was sitting out the way as he watched the girls dance to that strange musical sound I began to have a talk with the little guy.
"hey... Spike? is it" Dusko said trying to remember his name, plus the name not really a dragon name I've gotta be honest with you Dusko thought as he tilted head with confusion.
"uh... yeah I am" he spoke a bit nervously but let out a smile at the wolf, "shouldn't you go join at the party" he gestured as he pointed towards the girls.
Dusko looked at the 6 mares and then back at Spike as he raised his eyebrow at him "I'm not used to parties like this... plus the weird movements they're doing all seems really bizarre to me?..." Dusko spoke confused as he focused his attention at the mares and then back to Spike.
"Weird movements?... You mean they're dance moves" Spike exclaimed as Dusko wanted to know more about what this dance thing is.
"Excuse me but what is dance" Dusko sat and looked at the baby dragon who seemed shocked that somepony or someone wanted a question answered by him
So Spike made himself comfortable and explained what dancing was to Dusko and the different kinds of dancing there was, and no sooner or later Spike called the girls over to teach Dusko how to dance. After several falls, Dusko slowly grasped the easiest movments but what seemed the easiest was the slow dance with the girls, mainly it was Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie and Fluttershy, Applejack nearly volunteered to help but she still didn't trust him, so all she and Rainbow did was just give their support by cheering him on.
"wow I've gotta say this now dancing with miss Twilight Sparkle was an absolute disaster I mean come on the girl can't even dance let alone lead a slow dance and yes we mostly slow danced it was the only dance that was the easiest and I didn't keep falling over and my paws are in agony after being stepped on by their hooves, but we all had a good time and it was a good way for them to get to know me a little. And after the dancing Pinkie brought a ginormous cake and on it were sticks with little fire flames I questioned what they were for and they told to make a wish and blow out the candles and maybe someday would my wish would come true."
Dusko thought what to wish for and took a deep breath and blew powerfully at the candles that the cake had started to blow over as well and went over Pinkie, AJ and Rainbow dash, I opened my eyes and I grinned Apolagetically "I'm sorry about that I just got excited" he grinned awkwardly until Rarity came out with some towel cloth things and Rainbow lifted herself with her wings as she got the cake off her.
"Yeah next time watch how you blow" she said as she dropped the towel in a basket and said her goodnight to everypony and flew out the door, the rest went to leave as well as the said their good nights walked out the boutique.
Dusko began to help clean up the mess as he felt like such an idiot as he had a guilty look on his face, Rarity sooner noticed and gave him a forgiving embrace, Dusko started to blush a bit and gulped "whats that for?" he asked.
Rarity looked him the eye "you have nothing to be guilty of Dusko we all make mistakes" she spoke gently to him, no matter what he still felt guilty and dropped what he was doing lay on Rarity's couch.
Rarity finished off the last bit of cleaning and placed the blanket over Dusko and gently gave him a peck on his cheek and walked to her bedroom, Dusko's eyes widened as he saw Rarity walk up stairs and put his paw to his cheek and began to blush at what he knew she did, as he lay his head down and smiled as he glimpsed up the stairs.
A couple of weeks had gone by, and Dusko's leg was healing up nicely, even though the healing process had taken its toll and as deformed Dusko's leg a bit and by deformed the bone was making a little bump on his leg, and Rarity had put herself forward to host the Ponyville days festival and she'd been planning for weeks by using a full-sized model of Ponyville and decorating it to her little idea that she planned out. While she was still planning, Spike had popped over and noticed Dusko peeking at the window watching the day go by, until he noticed Spike looking at him as he crossed his arms.
"you know you're not supposed to peek out the windows because some pony might see you" Spike exclaimed to the wolf who stared out into the town.
"I know Spike it's just so fascinating all I've known about ponies that they lived as tribes but now this town is like fully growing community it's truly amazing" he smiled excitingly, until Spike grabbed his tail and pulled him away from the window, moved to his face and looked him in the eye.
"If those guards see you you'll be in a world of trouble" Spike exclaimed as he pointed outside to the guards guarding the perimeters of every building in town, "not to mention what they might do to you" Spike continued on as Dusko listened and then glanced at the guards.
"I'm not afraid of a few guards I once fought against hunters with my own teeth and claws, you think a few guards could get me" he spoke rather confidently as he smirked at the baby dragon.
"Your pretty overconfident if I do say so" Spike said with an awkward grin, Dusko continued to smirk "take it from me, Spike a place like this is nothing compared to what's out there, sure it may be scary but you gotta show the world you're ready for anything" Spike looked at Dusko amazed at his words of wisdom, but there was also a touch of sorrow as Dusko told Spike about is puppyhood on how he was abandoned from his own kind and the things he witnessed with timberwolves bought a tear to Spike's eye as he rushed over to the wolf and wrapped his arms around him.
Dusko was a bit taken aback from Spike's gesture as it made feel a bit uncomfortable since nobody's ever shown him sympathy before, Dusko's ears began to flop down as he gently smiled at the baby dragon and wrapped his paw around him to return the gesture "thanks, Spike" he gently spoke, then the friendly gesture was then interrupted by Pinkie Pie as she jumped in and hugged them both "FREE HUGS" she shouted. Applejack and Twilight had followed in and saw Dusko was getting uncomfortable from one of Pinkie's hugs and Twilight used her magic and levitated him out of the embrace and placed him on the ground.

After taking a few breaths after getting suffocated from Pinkie's surprise hugs, Rarity had come downstairs and to her surprise saw Applejack and Twilight helping Dusko while telling Pinkie to be careful since Dusko wasn't used to all this attention, and speaking of attention when they turned their heads they noticed Rarity in a lovely new dress every pony couldn't believe their eyes the dress seemed to have a sense of beauty and elegance maybe it was the actual real gems which made it so majestic, while every pony went over to Rarity Dusko couldn't help but be amazingly stunned on how beautiful she looked and with them gems she was simply dazzlingly.
"This is nuts I can't be falling for a pony no matter how kind or beautiful she may be I just can't have these feelings" Dusko thought to himself as he quietly sneaked into the kitchen so he could think, unlucky for him as Twilight noticed Dusko stressing in the kitchen, she excused herself so went over to talk to him, as Dusko continued to rant over his feelings for Rarity.
"Um Dusko what are you talking about" Twilight curiously said as Dusko jumped at the sound of the horn-winged mare, he quickly turned his head and noticed her standing behind him, he then began to frown "what do you want" he spoke rather aggressively.
"I just noticed you ranting about something and I was just curious" she awkwardly grinned as the wolf let out a vicious growl.
"Easy Dusko easy I didn't mean to snoop but you look like you need help" she calmly spoke as she calmed him down, Dusko continued to frown at her as he continued to pace back and forth still glaring at the alicorn princess.
"Is that all you ponies do, help others" Dusko spoke rather curiously as he tilted his head a little, "only those who are in need of help and guidance" Twilight spoke very gently as Dusko turned to her again with his ears folded down as Twilight placed her fore hoof on his shoulder.
Dusko took a deep breath and looked into Twilight's eyes "Twilight... what... what's that feeling you get when somebody you start to care about because of everything they've done for you start to have this feeling in your chest every time you lay your eyes on them" he spoke rather nervously, Twilight knew straight away what he was talking about Dusko had feelings for Rarity.
"Are you saying you have feelings for Rarity" Dusko's eyes widened as he began to feel embarrassed, he was about to growl at Twilight but she was right.
"She's right I can't believe I'm saying this but what Twilight's saying is right I do have feelings for Rarity, knowing she said that made me wanna growl but it wasn't worth... Wait a minute I'm not growling oh for the love of..." he thought as he lay on the floor and placed his front paws over his face and began to whimper like a puppy. Twilight cringed but reassured him which he kept explaining that ponies and wolves don't match, but Twilight knew as he kept on pausing, like he kept avoiding the fact that he does, "Dusko I know you are trying to hide the fact that you do have feelings, but if it's the one thing I've learned in all fairytale stories, is that love will find a way" she spoke very remorseful.
"I'd like to be alone, please Twilight," he said very softly as he made his way to Rarity couch as he down on it thought about what Twilight said.

Meanwhile in town every pony was getting ready for the Ponyville days town festival, as they were all talking about who would run it this time, the guards, however, were still patrolling the perimeters of Ponyville still on the search for the Everfreeian wolf and one pony wasn't as pleased as he wanted this wolf's head hanging.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'VE SEARCHED EVERYWHERE, sir, " said a very disappointed Prince Blueblood, "like I've, sir, we've searched everywhere in town and still no sign of this wolf... Maybe it's gone back to the forest where it belongs" said one of the guards and Blueblood was having none of it, he had a feeling that the Everfreeian had to be in Ponyville probably stalking them and waiting to attack at any moment.
"If we begin to turn our backs the wolf will attack we must remain vigilant" he turned his head towards all the ponies setting up the town for tomorrow's nomination for the festival "if it was up to me there would be no festival unless this wolf is found and destroyed" he spoke rather eagerly aggressive as he went off and walked around the rustic town.
------
The next morning every pony was gathering around the town hall all eagerly awaiting the announcement, as they watched the elder ponies on the election comity discuss who should be the lucky pony to host the grand event. As soon as they made their decision and all three approved, granny Smith slowly made her way over to mayor mare who began her speech, "citizens of ponyville, this year's contenders were all an acceptation but there can only be one pony, and that one pony is" she paused as she waited for granny smith and as granny smith placed down the paper on the podium with that one pony's name on it, mayor mare then looked down on the paper "Rarity!!!" she called out with a smile on her face.
Crowds went wild as they all applauded Rarity by shaking her hoof and offering her flowers as she began to smile gratefully at the crowd, and then Twilight walked towards her "congratulations Rarity do you know what your going to do" Rarity smirked at her friend as Spike pushed the model of Ponyville towards the two mares, "I might have a few ideas" she replied as Twilight smiled back.
Back at Carousel Boutique Dusko was still pondering about what Twilight said yesterday, well mainly thinking if he should say something to Rarity and then he thought back to the ponies and wolves don't match thing he said yesterday. "This is completely bonkers I mean come on how come I'm having these feelings for Rarity, it's just insanely bonkers" Dusko thought to himself as he paced around the boutique. He then caught a glimpse from the window of all six mares and Spike walking towards the boutique and decided to open the door for them a like a good gentle colt.... I mean gentle wolf and opened the door for them.
"Ok!... you seem quite cheerful" he awkwardly smiled as he scratched behind his ears he then watched the others walk in, "It's the Ponyville days festival and Rarity's been picked to host the event" Spike spoke rather eagerly excited.
Dusko just tilted seeing he had no idea what he was talking about "the Pony... Ville days... What festival... What does that mean?," Applejack and Twilight stepped forward and explained to Dusko what the Ponyville days festival and while Rarity was getting ready for the announcement and Spike and the others were setting the stage up.
"So you celebrate this big grand event because this town was founded over 1000 years ago," he said trying to process what the two mares were saying.
"Well, that is one way ah could put it," Applejack said sounding impressed on what a quick learner he was.
"So they explained this Ponyville days festival was and it was very interesting, I must say Applejack and Twilight weren't surprised that I said a few charming words if I do say and their faces like they knew Rarity had something to do with it, I gave a little tilt with my head but I kinda giggled at their reaction, they just gave a sought of look saying Rarity's been teaching him sought of look, plus did you guys know that Rarity talks in her sleep, she speaks a lot of that prim and proper language of hers."

A few minutes had past and Rarity with the help from Spike presented her theme for the festival "Small town chic'' as Dusko was more concentrated on the sketches, while Rarity was offering for help from the others, and then Rarity began to go all giddy with excitement as she announced her celebrity crush Trenderhoof was coming to town and so Rarity had this idea to make festival amazing so it would impress Trenderhoof. Dusko began to feel stupid after he heard that Rarity had some kind of crush on this writer pony, but he couldn't help but feel a bit creeped out at the chunk of hair in a glass container.
"uh?!... Rarity is that really necessary" he cringed as he pointed at the chunk of hair, Rarity looked at Dusko and saw what he was pointing at.
So Rarity ended up explaining to Dusko that is was hoof made or something and it wasn't actually real hair, still, he felt this shrine thing about this pony looked rather creepy not to mention obsessive.
"So after that rather interesting lesson, I mean seriously she has a chunk of hair in a glass container anyone or any pony for that matter would find that creepy, so anyway the girls had gone off to their bit to help Rarity set up her theme whatever and Rarity was off to this train station with Twilight to greet this Trenderhoof or whatever while I stay here in the Boutique as always, and watched from afar from the window as I continued to process these feelings."
While Rarity was showing Trenderhoof around Ponyville, she continued to blush and giggle like a giddy school filly, but the giddying didn't go on, as she then finally showed him Sweet Apple Acres and Trenderhoof laid his eyes on Applejack, which made her heart shatter as the tears started to flow down her cheeks.
------
Dusko heard the door slam shut and he could feel water under his paws, he lowered his head to sniff the water.
"Tears" Dusko confusingly said but curious to find out what Rarity was so upset about.
So he carefully opened the curtain with his muzzle to see a very upset Rarity, with her eyeliner dripping off along with the tears down her cheeks, Dusko placed his paw on her shoulder.
"What's wrong" Dusko gently spoke as he went to nuzzle her -- until she burst out in tears, as he jumped backwards on his back.
"HE DOESN'T LIKE ME!, BECAUSE HE HAS A CRUSH ON APPLEJACK!!, AND IT'S NOT FAIR" she shouted out as she threw an upset outburst.
"Wait... Trenderhoof doesn't like you" Spike said as he walked to stand next to Dusko, Dusko had some kind of idea as he continued to listen to what Rarity was saying Dusko and Spike looked at each other with raised eyebrows and then turned back to Rarity. After sobbing her heart out, Rarity had an idea to get Trenderhoof's attention, Dusko and Spike couldn't help but awkwardly cringe at what she pulled out.
Dusko walked towards her as she examined the outfit "uh Rarity..." Rarity stopped to see Dusko looking rather curious, "what's wrong Dusko" she replied, Dusko gulped a bit "do you really think changing yourself would get this Trenderhoof to like, I mean what if your not his type" Rarity was taken aback by Dusko's words. At first, Rarity didn't believe him, plus she was too eager to win Trenderhoof over "don't be silly Dusky, it's not like I'm gonna change my personality just because Trenderhoof seems to find rustic attractive" she joked as she gently tickled Dusko's chin. As Rarity went out the door, Dusko had an idea he knelt his head down to Spike, "Bring Twilight here, I have an idea" "Like what?... What is it?" Spike replied demanding an answer, "I'll explain when you get Twilight here".

"YOU WANT ME TO DO!!!... WHAT!!!" Twilight replied as soon as she went through the door.
"I want you to turn me into a pony, in this case, " Dusko said sounding confident and serious, Twilight already could tell why -- since it was clear as day Dusko did like Rarity.
"But why Dusko? I know you like Rarity but what's so important about you wanna be a pony" Twilight explained seeing how it was such a bizarre request.
"I sat down and explained to Twilight why I wanted to be turned into a pony, I couldn't bare the fact of seeing Rarity upset and this Trenderhoof fella seemed well stupid in my opinion, because why would any pony, in this case, be so blind, Rarity is a great friend she's beautiful, she's talented, intelligent, kind, caring, passionate and not to mention generous. If that's what celebrity ponies are really like they should be ashamed of themselves, I mean look me a wolf who excepted help from a pony and I've done nothing but show my kindness and loyalty but most importantly my friendship."
After Twilight listened to Dusko explanation, she could be sought of see why -- a savaged wolf being more civilised than any storybook prince sounds more like a fairytale than a dream come true. Twilight had to get Dusko into the Library so she told me to stand, close to her, Dusko was anxious he had no idea what Twilight was capable of until all of a sudden after one flash of light he found himself in a different location.
"What the heck happened, where are we," Dusko said in a confused state as he anxiously looked around his new surroundings, Twilight couldn't help but giggle a slight bit, but before Dusko turned towards her she stopped as he demanded an explanation.
"Welcome to the Ponyville library" Twilight announced as Dusko looked in awe, as he walked around until his tail knocked a book off the shelf, which at first made him jump at the slight thud it made when it landed on the ground. Dusko turned around and noticed the marks on the books kinda look like the marks these mares have on their flanks. He then took a deep breath and sighed.
"uh, Twilight can I ask you something?" Twilight turned around and listened to what Dusko had to say "of course Dusko what is it" replied politely as she smiled.
"I'm sorry for being nosey but why does this particular book have the same marks just like the ones on your flanks?... What's all that about?..." Dusko questioned slightly nervous of the fact that he sounded nosey.
Twilight could see Dusko was uneasy, but she gradually took him aside and explained to him -- Dusko began to feel at ease and what surprised him, is at the end of her explanation Twilight offered for Dusko to give his thoughts on friendship during his time in Equestria.

I was stunned, the thought that Twilight offered me to contribute in their journal -- but there was one slight problem.
"I don't know how to write" Dusko gently spoke and Twilight had another idea that she would write for him while he speaks out his thoughts.
So after the agreement, Spike brought out a book from one of the shelves and placed it on the table, while Twilight skims through each and very page Dusko watched impressively -- until Twilight found something.
"There's nothing about an easy transformation, but there is one that will make ponies see you as a pony but, ponies that already know you will still see you as a wolf" Dusko sought of cringed -- as he imagined the look Rarity would give him, as he shook his head from the thought and began to panic looking desperate for another alternative.
"No!!! No!!! No way!!!.. There's gotta be something else" Dusko spoke in panic as his ears folded down and looked directly into Twilight's eyes.
"There is no way I could do that, plus Rarity would know straight away and just imagine how she'd feel, I mean I'm no prince charming but good friendship means everything, it's nothing about falling in love and I'm not saying I'm in love Rarity -- no, no, that would be preposterous, ha, ha"

It wasn't long until Fluttershy came into the library, with a very concerned look on her. Twilight asked her what was wrong -- but all she said was "come to the boutique" after she said that Twilight and Dusko looked at each other rather anxiously as Twilight immediately teleported herself and Dusko back to Carousel Boutique.
"No sooner we appeared back in the Boutique the scent of a rustic aroma clouded my nose, it wasn't long until Rarity relieved herself that my eyes were stunned beyond belief as my ears folded all the way down."
While Applejack laughed and everyone else was still completely stunned, Dusko calmly built up the courage to step forward -- his emotions had been deeply stirred from terrified to confident as he seriously gazed deep into Rarity sapphire blue eyes.
"I know you were deeply upset early, but and I apologise for saying this, but this isn't the way to go too impress someone, you can't force someone to fall for you especially if they don't feel the same way and going about it like this is not the right thing, surely you must know that, right".
Rarity processed in her mind what Dusko had said, and she was deeply touched -- a part of her knew she was wrong for doing this, but her mind said otherwise she jumped down from the stage and and went to stroke Dusko's chin -- until he deflected her hoof away from his face and frowned and slowly shook is head in disappointment. After Applejack stood in to try and talk Rarity out of it, Rarity refused to listen as she stormed out the door heading for Sweet Apple Acres.

A few hours later Applejack convinced Rarity she was wrong, as with the help from her friends, 'small town chic' had been arranged once again with the help of her friends. Dusko on the other hand was once again stuck inside the Boutique watching over all the bright lights, the melodic music flowing through the air and ponies dancing like they were floating in mid-air -- until Twilight had came by and by Dusko's surprise the flow of magic from her horn his request was granted.
As Twilight's magical aura lifted him up the air, in a flash and sparkles he opened his eyes and to his surprise in his eyes as he watched his paws reshape themselves into hoof-like stumps, his tail wavered as it transformed from fur to hair and as his head was the last he closed his eyes and in a flash -- upon his image his appearance had full changed to a tall handsome stallion. As he was about to leave the Boutique Twilight granted him one last spell -- as he blinked from the flash and as he looked in the mirror a suit had been placed on him as turned to Twilight placed his hoof on her shoulder and smiled.
"thank you."
"Just remember this transformation won't last until the stroke of midnight you shall turn back into a wolf" she then placed her hoof onto his shoulder and spoke rather gently "now go get her boy" and as soon as she said that Dusko wrapped his hoof around Twilight to hug as as he nodded and gently galloped out with his new hooves.

The whole town sparked pure amazement in his eyes, the taste if the cucumber sandwiches which bursted with new flavour in his mouth and not to mention the apple cider from Sweet Apple Acres -- and though Dusko was far to interested into the festive, the mares seemed mesmerised to him the other stallions were beginning to get quite jealous of his style but also laugh at his comedic behaviour as it was his first time experience something like this.
At first he couldn't see Rarity, but Rarity could see him, "oh my!?... What a handsome stallion he is!" Rarity tried not get her head wrapped round the idea of being attracted to another stallion, seeing how her other attempts were complete failures. After walking away from some quite disappointed mares as he awkwardly grinned -- until his eyes finally saw Rarity as he gently breathed and smiled and began to walk closer to her, Rarity didn't whether was gonna pass out or what but her heart was beating none stop as stepped down from the stage and calmly awaited the handsome stallion to come to her.
As they both looked into each others eyes and smiled, the conductor pony had smiled and tapped his stick on the music stand and the orchestra ponies played a sweet waltz as both the mysterious stallion and Rarity took hooves and walked to the dance floor. Dusko struggled to get his balanced at first but he remembered the dancing with Rarity and her friends as he and Rarity floated on the dance floor -- the more comfortable he got the advanced his moves were as he twirled Rarity around and twirled back to him, as the chorus of the waltz song came Dusko lifted Rarity off her hooves and held her waist as both he and she looked into each others eyes and as the song got softer he set Rarity back down as she rested her head on his chest which surprised him at first, but he then saw Twilight and others and they all smiled at him as he smiled back.
After the dance was over Dusko and Rarity snuck away from the town as they walked into the beautiful night -- with the moon shining bright, it set a romantic atmosphere as Dusko walked by Rarity sided until he picked a rose from a nearby bush and placed it in Rarity's mane. she saw her reflection she saw the beautiful rose that was placed in her mane and gently kissed the stallion on the cheek -- but it wasn't until she saw his reflection and she saw Dusko, the surprise on her face turned to a heart-warming smile as she looked deep into Dusko's golden eyes.
The kiss on the cheek left Dusko bashful as his cheeks burned red, until he took a whiff from his nose and remembered a hidden cavern entrance that he used to visit when he was a pup -- as he thought it would be the perfect place for Rarity. Near the entrance to the forest Dusko led Rarity to the hidden cavern as he guided her through the small tunnel and removed any obstacle that would get in her way. Dusko then lit the gems up as he told her to open her eyes and to her amazement the gems were magnificent as they floated in mid-air, as Rarity sat and watched the beautiful sight Dusko then sat next to her with an unlit gem in his hoof and together they breathed onto the gem and it lit -- but not like the others as the face of the gem showed a memory of them dancing back in Ponyville.

As Rarity and Dusko cuddled next to each other, Dusko realised his tail was turning back to normal which worried him, as he had to get back to the Boutique.
"Might I escort you back to your home M'lady" Dusko disguised his voiced as spoke a bit deeper and more prim and proper.
Rarity accepted and placed her hoof on his foreleg as they walked back to Ponyville , with Dusko's tail in between his legs.
As they made it to the Boutique, Dusko was almost back to normal with only his pony head, mane and all the way down to his front hooves -- meanwhile Rarity had opened the door and by complete surprise she pulled Dusko in and brought his head down to her face and placed her lips onto his, the sheer shock from the affection -- felt truly alien to him and somehow seemed to speed up the transformation as his mane turned back to normal, along with his ears, which he folded down immediately. After she kissed him she walked to the stairs to her bedroom as she fell onto her bed being completely starstruck as she lay on her bed with a smile placed on her face as picked the rose from her mane and held close to her.
Meanwhile Dusko felt relieved as he lay back on the couch all back to normal, but he also noticed the gem he sneakily kept as it shown the image of him and Rarity dancing, which left dopey and bashful as slowly closed his eyes.
