I may eventually decide to accept the OC's of other people, but until that time, please do not spam the comment section with OC submissions, but do feel free to ask questions, just don't expect me to answer quickly. Background: One of my OC's, whom I have not yet posted online, named midnight fury, who grew up in Trottingham, but then his entire family went with his father on an expedition to the Everfree isle, which required going under the floating island of Evisica, right underneath which the ship crashed, with midnight being the only survivor, this island is quite close to a large crack that exists in the pony world, only known as "the breach," a zone where… you know what? I've decided that's all the background I'm going to tell you, if you want to know more, read. Also I already posted all of the story ive wrote on fanfiction.com under the username Madman12435. Chapter 1: Midnight Breach It was a bleak evening on Evisica, as Midnight Fury walked through the valley where he had built his shed. He knew the darkness would come soon, and then his nightly transformation would occur. He was a somewhat feminine looking unicorn, with a pure white coat, small bone structure, and a black mane and tail, with a single stripe of white down the middle. His horn was broken in half, it had been like that for his entire life, and he couldn't use any form of magic due to this odd deformity. His cutie mark was the symbol "infinite", with a line through it, all in blood red. As he made it to his shed, the sun had almost set, and Midnight ran inside, trying to tie himself down; he knew what was coming, as it wasn't exactly the first time he was exposed to the Breach's "energy." It mutated all life it touched when it was dark. He knew that he could no longer escape the effects, even if he moved to a far off county, like Equestria, he would still change, having been exposed to Breach "energy" for so long. He had tied his back hooves to his bed by the time the sun had set, and the darkness began to infest him, slowly. His coat began to turn black, his mane Shades reversed, becoming a white mane and tail with a black stripe through it. His pupil became extremely thin, similar to that of a cat at midday, and his horn became whole, the shattered stump growing the missing length. The two things that didn't change were his body size, and his eye color, which remained grey. As Midnight looked around the shed with bored eyes, he noticed that he had tried to tie himself up again. With a sigh, he untied the ropes with a small telekinesis spell. This done, he got up, and walked out, slamming the door behind him. He was headed to a point near the edge of Evisica, a location where several manticores resided. These manticores, however, were different; the breach energy had caused the material of their wings to dissipate, and turned their flesh and bones to quicksilver. As his horn began to glow, a small crack formed in his horn, which sent out a large shock wave, knocking the manticores off of the island. A few seconds later, one of them managed to climb back up. It attacked midnight, leaving a large gash in his left back leg. He managed to remember the fighting techniques he had learned from his friend, Swamp Tar, and grappled with the manticore, jabbing his knee into the back of its neck, knocking the beast unconscious. He then used the last of his nightly magic reserves, breaking his horn again in doing so, and healed his leg's wound as best he could on such limited power. At last, he half-walked, half-limped home. As he walked, his coat began to turn back to white, his mane and tail changed back to white with a black stripe, and his pupils expanded back to normal size. He felt a sudden pain, and all was black. When Midnight came to, he noticed that he had changed back to normal, and wondered what had happened the previous night. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a familiar voice say "well, it seems your awake at least, my healing magic isn't as good as that of your dark form, but there was little to patch up." Upon hearing this, Midnight fury jumped out of the makeshift bed he was in, and saw Swamp Tar. He is a blind, moss Green Unicorn with pure white eyes, which at the moment were covered up by his black blindfold. He had a darker green mane, and a cutie mark of crossed red and blue swords. Midnight's eyes welled up, for he had thought that his best friend had died over 3 years ago, "why didn't you tell me you lived Swamp?" Midnight asked, tears of joy started to move down his face. "Because," Swamp Tar said, "of what the breach had done to me, I woke on another of the floating lands, which I have decided to name Ert, and-" "Ert? Really?" Midnight cut swamp tar off, seeming amused by the name, as it was the same name as Swamp's imaginary marefriend, "Shut up, I was half asleep when I named it. Anyway, you should at least try to sleep, even if the breach keeps you from sleeping at night, at least try to sleep for part of the day. Trust me, it helps." Midnight, not wanting to anger his friend, lied down on the bed, and went back to sleep, and had a dreamless slumber upon the lumpy mattress of dead plant material. The next time Midnight Fury awoke, it was nearly sundown, and Swamp tar was standing by the window, and said, "well, it's been nice chatting with you Midnight, hope to see you again sometime, and then it started once more, but this time, Midnight saw what the breach had done to Swamp tar, it caused his hooves to mutate to claws, his mane and tail went into his body, as though they were being sucked through a straw, slowly, swamp's coat changed to a velvet color, with a single, blood red stripe cutting down the center of him, his teeth became jagged and translucent, and his eyes began to obtain color, a deep, dark blue, with specks of red and green scattered throughout it, then, Midnight's day form lost control, leaving just his darkness. Midnight lifted his head, and said to nopony in particular "well, it's a nice change of scenery, I guess," and walked out, suddenly noticing a small voice in the back of his head, which sounded oddly familiar. It said, 'wait, how can I be able to see what's happening at night? I have no control over myself then!' Midnight wondered who this was, and thought to the voice in his head 'who are you and what are you doing in my head?' the voice took a few seconds to respond, surprised by the voice he heard, the voice said 'I am Midnight, Midnight Fury, and what do you mean YOUR head? Last time I checked, it was mine!' This utterly baffled Midnight, he was communicating with his uninfected form! He quickly thought to... himself 'well, I suppose that makes two of us, or should I say two of me, as we technically are one pony. Also, why do you keep tying me up at night?' The voice seemed a bit embarrassed by this question, responding with 'well, whenever I changed back from you, I always woke up somewhere strange, and with at least one new scar, I was simply trying to stop from getting more injuries. By the way, where do you, or should I say I... go every night anyway?' Midnight's night form was surprised by the sudden question, and the lack of logic behind his reasoning, so he ended up answering honestly, 'I have been looking for a way off the island every night.' As I said, in this chapter I only own my OC's Midnight Fury and Swamp tar. Please tell me if you find anything wrong with this. A quick word of thanks to Silas Grimm for proofreading, both of your feedback was very helpful. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2 'I have been looking for a way off this island every night.' Midnight's night form stated in his mind. From what it seemed, the voice in his head (which he now recognized as his day form) excitedly said, 'Wait, you have been looking for a way off the island? Did you find one? And you still haven't answered me about the scars, where did they come from?' Midnight began to get annoyed at this point and shouted in his mind 'I haven't found a way out yet because one, there is a barrier covering the top of the island, and two, SOMEPONY keeps tying me up every night! And the scars are from trying to find a way out I found a long time ago, which was near a quicksilver manticore den! Now if you don't mind, I'm going back to where I was last night, before I changed back to you.' And ran into the woods toward the spot where he had blasted the manticores off the island The voice seemed to be a little stunned at this, and said quietly 'well sorry,' and went quiet. The Breach energy did strange things to creatures on Evisica, normally; it just changed what they look like, or what material they are made of, like the quicksilver manticores, which lost their wings every night. However, with Midnight, it just gave him 2 personalities, the trees became mangled, red messes every night, and the grass and green plants went blue and hardened. The animals became killing machines, which is likely why the trees are red… When midnight got to the area where he collapsed the previous night, he found something quite interesting; there was less of the Breaches energy here than anywhere else on the island, he then walked calmly, so as not to waste the little breach energy there was, to the spot where he actually found the manticores. He then bounded up the rocks, to find a hole that led almost straight down, the voice in his head said, 'Don't. You. Dare. I don't want to die just yet.' Midnight scoffed at this, saying 'and you would rather live like this?' '…fair point, continue' said the voice Midnight then jumped down the hole, his hooves scraping the edge, so as not to fall to fast. 'Well,' he thought, 'it could be much, much worse.' As he descended, he noticed that a light was starting to appear farther ahead, and braced himself for impact, casting a fall-dampening spell, and hit the ground. The area around him was the bottom layer of Evisica! He was nearly free! He ran to the edge, to see if this layer had a barrier around it, when he saw there was none, he prepared to jump off. Then, a large, black head hit him in the side, sending him back to the center area. As he looked around, trying to find what did it, he saw a terrible sight; a hydra had made this place its home, the breach energy caused it to become pure obsidian, and have at least 14 heads! Midnight saw this was an enemy he couldn't defeat easily, and cast an immobility spell at it, causing his horn to crack again. While the beast was immobilized, he ran up to it, and began to slowly push it towards the edge. The beast was, due to its size, able to quickly overcome the immobility, and kicked Midnight Fury, puncturing his left fore-leg. Midnight came to a sudden realization: he could try to cast a imagination type magic, although he would break his horn even if it didn't work, as his horn glowed, the hydra began to run toward him. He then said, "May you find peace in hell." And the ground began to shake, the area under the hydra began to detach itself from the rest of the island, and floated out, and finally, it dropped into the sea below. Once the spell was complete, his horn began to break, midnight poured the last of his magic into a spell to stop the bleeding in his leg, which caused half of his horn to shatter. The voice inside of his head said, 'you… you defeated a HYDRA? What kind of spell WAS that? I've never seen anything like it my whole life!' Midnight, slowly said, 'that was an imagination type spell, its only true limit is how much magic you can channel at once, which for us, is very, very little. All I can do now is wait to change places with you, as we can't leave until tomorrow night.' 'Why is that?' "I'm out of magic right now, that's why" Midnight said, and collapsed on the ground. He was slowly changing to his day mode, and the places of his consciousness switching with that of his day mode. Once Midnight's day mode was in control, he walked over to the edge the hydra had been dropped from, and peered down. Below him he saw water a few miles below, and immediately understood what his night mode said; they can't leave with little magic energy or they would die when they land, and wished that there were another way down. The moment he thought this, his emblem (cutie mark) began to glow, and the crimson light which shone from it revealed something he hadn't noticed before: a strange metal platform, which wasn't actually touching Evisica, but was floating a few feet away. As Midnight approached the platform, it began to respond to the light from his flank, and it began to whirr. After carefully testing that it won't fall, he stepped onto the strange device, and it began to whir even louder. Almost instantly, the platform began to move. The direction being the one midnight was facing, as he turned, so did it. When he realized this, he pointed it south-east and sped off. After a few minutes on the strange device, he began to see where he was headed, the mainland, and stopped it, quickly trying to find a good place to rest, the best he could find was an empty cave near the shore. As soon as midnight's hooves left the strange device, it sped back the way it came, at a much faster speed than even the Pegasi were said to be capable of. Inside the cave midnight realized it was quite hot inside of it, but thought it would be colder farther in. After a few more sweaty minutes, midnight found something rather odd: a Black Cape, with a fireball shape sewn into the side of it. When he tried to pick it up to examine it, he burnt his hoof on it, this made him realize that the source of the heat was said cape. He then looked around for anything which could be of use, and found a sheathed dagger, some food, and a rather large jug of water. He took what he could carry, and packed it all into a bag, but before he could leave, he felt something hit the back of his neck, and all was black. I only own my OC's, the quicksilver manticores, and the obsidian hydra. Also if anyone wants to see a pic of any of my OC's, you can email me at: Madman12435yahoo. From now on, I'm only going to submit one chapter per week, it's just I had to do at least a little bit more. So please review and comment. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Authors notes: As I said at the footnote of the last chapter, I am now calling the energy of the breach "void" energy, as that somehow gives me a more ominous feeling, also, when one of midnights "modes" is communicating with the other I'll be using different things to mark who is speaking, rather than calling one "the voice," for the one in control of the body, I will simply be using quotations, like in all of his conversations, the one with no control over the body will now use a different symbol, like this: \why would you even do this?/ that's how it's going to basically look, also, all speech in quotation marks that is not assigned to any character belongs to whichever of midnights forms is in control of his body, when he is talking to his other form, that way I don't have to say who he is talking to all the time. Well, on with the chapter Chapter 3: When midnight awoke, the first thing he noticed was that his hooves were bound, and that he was lying in a pool of sweat, in the cave. There was a Red pony, wearing the cloak which he saw before, standing over him, her eyes were blue, her coat was crimson, and her mane was bright red, with a single white stripe, and was shaped to be sticking out to her right side, sort of in a spike shape. The cloak covered everything else. "Who are you, and why were you stealing my things?" The mare asked, with a combination of curiosity and anger in her voice. All I could respond with was saying with a raspy voice "Midnight fury, unicorn of Evisica" Her eyes widened at the mention of the island, and backed away, I noticed it get a bit less warm as she moved away, I tried to drink some of the sweat I was lying in, so as to keep from becoming dehydrated, upon noticing this, she quickly grabbed the jug of water out of the bag I had packed, and poured some into my mouth. "Thank you," I said, my voice returning, "Now would you mind telling me why I'm tied up?" "I'll be the one asking questions here, not you," she said, impatience in her tone now, "why were you stealing my things?" "Because I'm trying to find somewhere far from Evisica, where the void energy can't reach me, and for this I need to travel. Traveling requires supplies, so I was going to just take a small amount, not enough to harm anyone." I said, the heat was forcing the truth out of me like it was sweat, but I decided it would be a bad idea to mention this, all things considered. "What is void energy? And why are you trying to get away from it?" The cloaked pony asked. "For you first question, void energy comes from the breach, it mutates any living thing it touches, every night, until dawn. As for why I want to escape it, just put me outside during the night, and you will see." The cloaked mare considered this, and said "ok, but do one thing that leads me to believe you're trying to escape, and I will kill you" "Sounds like a fair deal," I responded, "just one question, how am I going to get outside?" The mare sighed, and picked me up by the rope, I noticed that her hoof caused the rope to begin to sear, and realized the source of the heat was her. Once we were outside again, the sun was almost done setting, and my transformation was starting, while I transformed, I said "I won't exactly be… myself once I've changed, just thought I should tell you." The mare nodded, and I let the darkness take hold of my mind, pushing me to the back. When Midnight's night form awoke, he assumed that his day form had tied him up again, and sighed, saying, "Not again midnight, I thought we had an agreement you would stop tying me up." \It wasn't me this time/ "Then who was it?" \Look up and you will see./ "What do you mean?" as midnight said this, he looked up, and saw the mysterious pony mentioned all throughout this chapter, and said, "Oh, you're the one who tied me up, thought it was my day form again, mind if I take them off?" "N-no, not at all," said the mare, who seemed to be both frightened and intrigued, watched as his horn glowed white, and the rope disintegrated \how did you convince her of that? She threatened to kill me if I took those off!/ "Perhaps she is just in shock, did that not occur to you?" \Oh…/ "Um…" the mare asked, "who are you talking to?" "well, that's kind of hard to explain," Midnight said, "I guess the easiest way to explain it would be that I'm conversing with the one who you just talked to, however, in another way, I'm just talking to myself, a completely different side of myself, just think of me as midnights 'night form.' Anyway, what is your name?" "My name is Fire Storm," the Pegasus said. "Well Storm, would you mind telling me exactly where I am?" Midnight asked curiously. "Well, right now we are currently 200 miles north of the country of Ti, and there is about twice that much in-between here and the nearest gate-stone of Heliopolis." "And is there a way to quickly get from Ti or Heliopolis, to say, Cervidas?" inquired Midnight. "There is a way to get there, it's not exactly a direct path, but why would you want to go to the land of the Ents anyway?" Fire Storm asked, intrigued by Midnights question. "Well," Midnight said, "I want to get as far from Evisica as I possibly can, some place where I will be exposed to as little void energy as possible." "Why not stop somewhere you would fit in a little better?" Asked Fire Storm. "Like where? Prance?" Asked Midnight, "No thanks, been there a long time ago, hated it." "No, I meant Equestria." Said Fire Storm "Oh, well that's not a bad idea, it's full of ponies that are different from the rest, I've heard. Why not?" Midnight exclaimed, starting to cheer up a bit at the idea of fitting in. "Well, I could show you a way there from Ti, if you don't mind the heat," Fire Storm said. "I've lived through it this long, and it seems it will just make me need a bit more water than before, or I could just cast a 3 day cooling spell on myself, so the heat wouldn't be a problem ,I would love for you to help me." \Oh what joy! The psycho who tied me up is joining us!/ "Shut up" "Excuse me?" Said Fire Storm, with a slightly angry look on her face. "Not you," Midnight explained, "my form whom you tied up." "Ah, he can hear what we are saying, can he?" She asked. "Yes, as a matter of fact, he can." Midnight said, "So how would we get there? Oh, and before I forget to tell you, I only have control of this body at night." "Interesting. Anyway, the way is simple, first we have to head to Ti's port, there should be a boat going to Equestria we could board, that is, if we aren't noticed." Fire Storm said, "Or at least a boat to Hoovesgorod, which is a few dozen miles outside Equestria. From there we could just follow the river east and we will arrive in Equestria. Then we would have to get to Canterlot, and get you a citizenship. Then we could-" "I already have Equestrian citizenship, I've had it from birth." said Midnight. "Oh, well that makes it a bit easier, do you have any proof of citizenship?" Asked Fire Storm. "Yes, I do, why?" Inquired Midnight. "Well, it's quite simple, we get you deported from here to Equestria, it's free, and mostly legal, but it would be about a week's journey." said Storm. "I suddenly don't like where this is going, but if it will get me away from here, I will do it," said Midnight. I own nothing but my OC's. Everything in this chapter that is not one of my OC's, even the country names, are property of Hasbro. For a copy of the map I'm using, go to: WTWEFIC.TUMBLR.COM (don't copy and paste it, just type it in) i forgot what its called, but on it says in large letters "the known world," and has all the countries and islands I've mentioned thus far. Also this is my longest chapter :D > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 4 "I suddenly don't like where this is going, but if it will get me away from here, I will do it," said Midnight. "Good," said Fire Storm, "now, what's the smallest crime that can get someone deported from Ti?" "Um, I could always just beat someone up," Midnight said. Upon saying this, Fire Storm turned toward him, with a slight twinkle in her eye, and said, "That's it! We will have you beat someone up!" "Only if they deserve it though, I don't just go punching people for a good laugh," Midnight said, "but we should wait a few days, make myself be known to be somepony who would do such a thing if crossed, if I did that, then I would be deported a bit faster from when it happened." "Wow," said Fire storm, "you are really thinking hard on this aren't you?" "No, wait, this plan won't work," said Midnight. "Why not?" asked Storm, "you just play pretend for a few days." "It's not that, it's that I change back at dawn every day, therefore, I can't go into town without it being discovered I've been exposed to void energy, and once that is found out, I would likely be put to death rather than deported." Storm sighed, and said "True, except the inns there allow late night arrivals, and leavings." "Oh…" Midnight said, feeling a little stupid, "well then let's get as much ground covered tonight as we-" Midnight was then cut off by a loud Roar. Quickly looking out towards the direction of the roar, which was the ocean, he saw, to his horror, the Obsidian Hydra he dropped off of Evisica running toward him, its appeared to have even more heads than before, and its eyes were fixated on him with the rage of one who was out for revenge against those whom had wronged it. Upon seeing this monster, Midnight shouted "RUN, FIRE STORM!" and took a battle-ready stance, his horn at the ready. \Are you INSANE? That thing nearly KILLED you last time, and now it's angry at you for dropping it from several thousand feet above sea level!/ "How many times do I have to tell you to shut up?" Midnight began to charge an advanced piercing spell, aimed directly at the beast's chest, but was then stopped when he saw something which looked like it was a phoenix flying toward the beast, and removed almost all of it's heads simultaneously. It also seemed to melt the area around the cut, causing the heads to be unable to grow back. Midnight then shot the spell he was charging, which cut clean through what he could only assume was the accursed beast's heart, muttering, "I have said it before to you; may you find peace in hell." The flaming figure flying overhead suddenly dived toward him, the speed of which caused the flames to be doused, revealing the figure to be none other than Fire Storm, who crashed into midnight, thereby giving him his only real wound from this battle, which was quite the burn. He quickly moved Fire Storm off of him whilst casting a healing spell to reverse the burn, muttering "Well, that's going to leave a scar." And used the last of his available magic to move Fire Storm back into the cave, whom was sound asleep, he had a lot of questions to ask her tomorrow night, and walked to the other side of the cave, which was surprisingly cold in comparison to the rest of it, and went to sleep as the night ended and the day began. -Day Form- When Midnight awoke from his other forms sleep, he noticed that Fire Storm had left the spot where 'he' had put her, and got up to look for her. He found her outside the cave, doing what looked like warming some food, and suddenly realized how hungry he was. He approached Fire Storm, and said "Hello, how are you this morning?" "Just fine, and you?" Fire Storm inquired, focusing more on cooking breakfast than talking. "Good enough, but still, I'm surprised that the obsidian hydra was still alive, and that it walked all the way here so quickly." Midnight Responded, more than a little shocked they lived through the attack, and that it was dead at all. "Wait, you've seen that… thing, before?" Storm asked, almost giving Midnight her full attention. "Yup, my 'night' form dropped him off of Evisica," Midnight said, almost as though he was enjoying the memories of its attacks, "but, still, how did he survive that drop…" "Who knows" Fire Storm said, whilst eating the food she prepared. "Wait," Midnight said, "I'm just wondering, is there anything here I would be allowed to eat?" In response to this question, Storm smiles, and points at the grass growing around them. Midnight then sighed, muttering "Fine," and began grazing silently. The rest of the day went off without any real problems, and when midnight began to ask questions, Storm simply said "It will be better if I don't have to ask or answer questions twice, so let's wait until nightfall, that way both of you're… 'parts' will be present." A few hours after breakfast, Midnight Fury Decided he wanted to go exploring, so as to get a feel for their surroundings. After a good 20 minutes of walking, Midnight found a small group of apple trees, and decided to have a small snack of fruit before heading back. When he got back to the cave, it was nearly sundown, and Storm was waiting for him to transform. So he let the darkness take over once more. -Night Form- When Midnight finished changing form, he was surprised to find he wasn't tied up, like he normally was. Fire Storm sat across from him, on a patch of burnt grass, and said, "I've been wondering, exactly how does your horn continue to break?" "Well, you see, every night, I have a specific amount of magic I can use. If I go over, it breaks. It also automatically breaks when my 'day' form takes over." Said Midnight plainly, "While we are asking questions, how did you burst into fire last night?" Fire Storm seemed a little ashamed by this question, "I don't know how it happens, as you can tell, my body temperature is rather abnormal. My emotions control my body temperature, I was just so scared of it that my body temp got high enough that I just burst into flames, it also happens when I get into a true rage, depression, and so on. Is that all or should we take longer to reach Ti?" "No, that's all, let's go." Said Midnight. It was a long, hard trek. Fire Storm had spent most of the day packing bags, in which there was food, water, soap, and other various provisions, she had also found a map of the surrounding area, and were moving to the nearest cave to the both a body of fresh water, and a village of some sort. When they made it to the cave, Dawn was starting to break, so midnight decided to get some rest, set up his bedroll, and flopped down on it, trying to get a little sleep before being transformed by the sun again. Yeah… I've made the day form have a comparatively boring life to the night form… oh well, in personal opinion; I care about all my OC's equally (other than one which I shall never mention the name of, or post online). Once again, I own nothing but my OC's, and the Obsidian Hydra, and yes, it's dead now, I don't think it will be coming back again. > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A/N: I have decided where I'm going to end this story, and the basics for the storyline. Also, I want to say that now I have different things for saying where and who it is showing from the position of, (it's still 3rd person though) -_place_- _-persona-_ . Anyway, on with the chapter. Chapter 5: _-Day Mode-_ Midnight awoke several hours after dawn, he found there not to be much to do that wouldn't reveal him to the village not far from their cave, so he went back inside, and tried to go back to sleep. -_The Echo_- Midnight found himself in a small valley, in the surrounding area, he found that this was an area called 'The Echo,' also known as a dream world, when he realized this, he quickly looked for anything of symbolic nature, as the Echo was said to be a place only accessed when one sees the future. After a few minutes, he found a town, it seemed a bit odd, but that was likely because he was in another plane of existence. Midnight then looked up, and saw the sun and moon overlapping, creating a solar eclipse, suddenly, Midnight was standing before… a shadow, a black 'thing' slowly came into existence, and walked toward him. Then, Midnight woke up. -_Reality_- When Midnight awoke again, he noticed that it was starting to get dark out, and began to pack up all the things which had been taken out the night before, with the exception of Fire Storms bedroll. Midnight then willingly accepted the darkness. _-Night Form-_ When Midnight awoke, he saw all of his stuff was packed up, and decided to get some water for the trip to Ti's border town. The lake water was cool and refreshing, Midnight also ate a small amount of grass and an apple, and then went to wake up Fire Storm. Unfortunately, the first thing midnight tried was nudging her. This resulting with him getting second degree burns, the bright side to this, was that his screams of pain woke her up. After tending to his wounds, Fire Storm looked over their supplies, and then explained that she thought that they could reach the town in half a night, then they would find a place to stay until morning, when she would find someone to get beat up by either of his forms. After a quick agreement, they began the walk to their next location. -_Time skip to: end of the walk_- (- this just means I'm skipping some of the boring part) \Really, a bee's nest? Even I don't fail that badly/ "You would in collecting honey, trust me" \No, I don't think I would have let the entire nest get to me. I would have just jumped into a body of water and waited for them to leave./ "We'll see" "So, exactly how far are we?" Midnight asked Fire Storm "We're almost there, it's just over that hill." Midnight then galloped up the hill, and saw the town below him, he could see ponies harassing each other, and said, "well, it looks like we won't have to look for someone for me to beat up after all." \True that./ "Indeed," said Fire Storm, "we could do this right now, and we could call your transformations a spell backfire induced mutation, couldn't we?" "Ok, lets do this," Midnight said, as he began to walk toward the town, from what he could tell, there were still more than a few hours left of the night. Upon entering town, Midnight and Fire Storm were then eyed by all of the residents of the town. Then, one foolish stallion walked up, and said something so sexist and provocative to Fire Storm even Midnight was disgusted. Midnight, now enraged at the stallion, cast a spell, creating a pure black club, and proceeded to beat him roughly one third to death. The stallion then ran off, and a guard then ran up and said' "your under arrest! Lie down on your front and put your hooves behind your back!" As to be assumed, Midnight complied, so far everything is working, let's hope it stays that way, he thought to himself. Then the police knocked him out, and all was black once more. Midnight awoke one hour before sunrise in a cell, he tossed a small stone at the guard, who woke up with a startle, shouting "Who's there? Oh, its just you. I could get you hung for that," "Actually, I was just trying to wake you up so that somepony who is your superior doesn't find you sleeping on the job. Also, so that nopony thinks I ran off, I need a witness to see me change back." "Change back?" The guard asked, now intrigued. Midnight suddenly remembered his cover story, and said, timing it with the suns rise "Yes, a few years ago, one of my spells messed up and caused me to change form at night, at dawn my horn breaks in half, and my entire color scheme reverses. This should happen any moment." Followed by Midnight collapsing and changing into his day form. _-Day Form-_ When Midnight finished transforming, he stood up, and said to the guard, "I apologize if my 'night' form gave you any trouble sir. Also, exactly how long am I going to be in here?" The guard, visibly shaken by the sudden transformation, said "Y-your hearing isn't until tonight, at least that's what I was told." "Thank you kindly mister…" Midnight trailed off. "Oh, I'm Cloud nova, second in command of law enforcement here." "oh, well thank you Mr. Nova. Also, before I forget, what is the punishment for what I did?" Midnight said. Nova then stated, "Depends on your plead; if you plead guilty, you will be deported on the spot, and have to pay a fine, if you plead innocent, then you will have to sit through your trial, and then if found guilty, you will be sent to jail for 2 years, then fined and deported. In your position, I would plead guilty." "Thanks," Midnight said, and went to sleep on the cold cell floor. -_The Echo_- Upon entering the Echo, Midnight noticed everything was exactly as it was when he left, including the black… thing, standing right in front of him, whom he now noticed was saying something. He heard it say, "What is one shall become two, when that which is two becomes one." "What does that even mean?" Midnight asked, obviously confused by the question. The being suddenly started to disappear into the shadows created by the dream eclipse occurring overhead. Midnight suddenly ran in the direction he had seen a town in during his last dream, and saw something which surprised him more than anything he could have expected. Then, he was pulled out of his dream. -_Reality_- Midnight woke up a few minutes before sunset by Cloud Nova, who said, "As soon as you transform, we have to go to your trial." "Well it's not like I can just transform at will. So hold your horses." Then the darkness took over once more. _-Night Form-_ As soon as the transformation was finished, Midnight was bombarded with information from his day form for him, everything he was told by Cloud Nova. "So, shall we get going?" Midnight asked. "Yes, follow me," Nova said plainly, as he lead Midnight out to the vehicle meant to bring him to his hearing. The drive was long and boring. The trial was, sadly, no different, and, Midnight was deported on the spot, just like Nova said he would be. Fire Storm then had to spend all her bits on a combination of Midnight's fines, and a ticket so that she could come with me, as it turns out, the ticket cost more than Midnight's fines. "well, here we are," Said Midnight. "Indeed," Said Fire storm. Suddenly, several roars were heard, and a group of quicksilver manticores, whom Midnight instantly recognized as the same ones he had dropped off of Evisica a month or so back, he instantly shot out 3 bomb spells, which were designed only to destroy mercury. The pitch black explosions created a sound which likely made it around the world rather quickly, temporarily deafening him, and everyone else around him, but it did its job, the manticores were slowly reforming, but were still affected by the explosion enough that they stopped. The ship's captain began to rapidly shout orders to his crew, who responded surprisingly quick. Well, when you consider the manticores made of liquid metal that would kill them if they got to the ship, it seems natural. I made another layer of anti-mercury mines, and set them up around the port using displacement magic. The manticores dumbly ran into the second volley of bombs, and were destroyed, by that point, we were already mostly to sea. The hard part was over. That's all for now, this fanfic is approaching its end. I own nothing but my OC's, which Cloud Nova is one of them, and the quicksilver manticores. MaDmAN12435 Falling out. > Chapter 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 6: -_Ship at sea, day 4 of trip_- _-Night Form-_ Midnight sighed, it had been 4 days out of the promised 9 it would take to reach Manehatten, and he was already bored, he then decided to talk to himself about something he had been wondering, "Hey" \What is it?/ "I was just wondering, how come we both are called Midnight, I'm our night mode, so it makes sense for me, but for you…" \Yeah, I see what you mean, I was thinking we could change mine to 'Midday Joy,' what do you think?/ "I see, you chose a name which is polar opposite mine," \Exactly/ Midnight then heard a voice from the crow's nest "LAND HO!" Midnight sighed, it had been several days, and they had barely made it to the first stopping point: Amarezon, one of the few 'free' towns, which were a part of no country. Often they were lawless and laced with crime. "I hope we don't stop here too long." \Same here Midnight/ As the town came into view, the stallion in the crow's nest shouted "GET DOWN! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" The shout reached Midnights ears as a large explosion erupted from the water just off the side of the boat. Midnight, noticing he had only an hour left in control at best, quickly asked one crewman how long they could live with their current supplies, the stallion said "we would make it halfway, if we are lucky." "Not a problem," Midnight said, his horn beginning to glow, the entire ship then disappeared as the sun rose. -_Ship, day 5_- _-Day Form-_ When Midday Joy, as he was now called, awoke, he noticed that they were able to see no land. He quickly got up and asked the nearest crew member "What happened? The last thing I remember, we were under attack, where are we?" The crew member, seemingly in shock said "You, or at least your black form, teleported us to a point that is, according to the captain, 3 quarters to the next stop, we were lucky." Midday stood there, shocked at what happened. Midnight had saved a whole passenger ship full of ponies from not only a town of lowlifes who were trying to sink their ship, but now they wouldn't die before reaching their next stop: Hoovesgorod, where the ship would pick up the rest of its supplies, and then head up a river to Equestria. Midday then realized something: he couldn't see fire storm anywhere, he went downstairs, and saw her, puking her guts out out the window, muttering "Make it stop, dear sweet Celestia make it stop," before more of the sound wrenched at Midday's stomach, causing him to slowly try to get away from where she was, as he had no plan of getting puked on today. He then made his way to the sleeping room, where tons of ponies seemed to be packed in, he slept in a small space between a Pegasus who smelt terrible and had an obvious eating problem, and an earth pony, who honestly wasn't that bad to sit near by his opinion. -_The Echo_- Midday's visits to the Echo have been occurring every day, and finally understood why it was called "The Echo." It was because everything that was seen told of what was to come, and when it did happen, it was like an echo of what the person saw. That then lead to people calling it the Echo, and it became cannon. This visit was a little different, he was seeing himself from the outside, splitting in two, the one of him he saw was in obvious pain, and was desperately trying to move away from the point where he was splitting in two. Suddenly, the entire world he saw in the echo disappear, the normal "its nearly sundown, time to get up" signal. -_Ship Day 5, sunset_- Midday Joy awoke an hour before sunset, as was normal, he looked around, and saw that almost everypony had left the sleeping room. The hallway was also empty, except for Fire Storm, laying on the ground, still writhing in pain on the ground from vomiting so much, muttering "Dear sweet Celestia please make it stop." Seeming to be crying as she spoke. Midday walked up the stairs to the deck above, to find nopony there either, things were starting to look suspicious. He thought to himself how could an entire boatload of ponies just disappear? There isn't even a crew… oh no, no crew means… Midday suddenly ran to the stern of the ship, and saw that there was nopony at the wheel, shockingly, it was as still as it would be if it were in a tough sea-pony's iron grip (sea pony in the sense of sea-man, not in sense of merman). This utterly confused Midday, as the ship was still moving along the correct path, and the only thing missing was EVERYPONY WHO WAS ON THE SHIP. Weapons to defend the ship, food, supplies, all still there. The sun sank below the horizon, and Midday transformed. _-Night Form-_ When Midnight awoke, Midday immediately told him about everything that he that had happened. Midnight, suddenly remembering Fire Storm, ran down, to see her still vomiting, and crying from the pain of it. He then cast a temporary spell to make her stop getting seasick. After a few minutes, Fire Storm stood up, and brushed herself off, followed by her saying "Hello Midnight, how are you?" "Well, I myself am good, but we may have a bit of a problem," Midnight said. Fire Storm got a surprised look on her face at this "Really? What is it?" she asked. Midnight then proceeded to tell Fire Storm everything he was told by Midday Joy. By the time he finished, Fire Storm seemed extremely worried, and began to pace back and forth, muttering "how is this possible? How are we the only ones left? I could have sworn that several ponies passed by me right before you showed up and helped me with my seasickness, but now that I think about it, it was probably you passing by me and walking around up there…" "oh, I almost forgot," Midnight said, "The ship still seems to be on coarse, so we will make it to equestria, all the food and weapons, enough for a whole ship is still here, we will survive, easily." "I hope so," whispered Fire Storm, shaking her head, "I hope so." CLIFFHANGER! Wow, I planned this totally different, with Midnight fighting at the port of Amarezon to protect the crew of the ship… oh, and I wasn't origionally planning on killing off a shipload of ponies. Oh well, it turned out rather well, and please remember to vote on whether or not I switch to first person view for the rest of this story.
