“Angel you silly bunny!” Fluttershy giggled watching the little white rabbit run circles around a tree in the middle of a grassy meadow as she sat in the warm afternoon sun. It was a perfect summer day, not too hot, not too cool, but just right.
Fluttershy let out a content sigh as she continued to watch Angel run around, drinking in the perfect air as a light breeze gently ruffled her mane and fur. Her wings gave an involuntary twitch as the air made contact with her sensitive feathers. A shout from the opposite end of the field drew her attention away from Angel. Tim, her best friend of 2 years now was dashing towards her, a falcon flew ahead of him. Her eyes bulged at the bird of prey as she dived for Angel to protect him. Instead of going for the white rabbit, the falcon went for the low bare branch of the tree and set itself down lightly, looking at the yellow pegasus with curiosity.

“Hey Flutters! What’s shakin?” Tim asked the mare.

“I-um...” Fluttershy blushed as she looked down from Tim’s sky blue eyes. It was one of the first things she noticed about him and they way his eyes transfixed her was baffling.

“Flutters, I’m not stranger. Why the shy attitude?” Tim smiled down at her.

“The falcon startled me, that’s all Tim.” She said quietly.

“Oh you mean Fledge here? She’s my new pet!” Tim said excitedly.

Fluttershy’s eyes glared into his own.

“You got a pet without me? I thought that we made a promise to do that together?” Tears now shone in her eyes.

“Fluttershy, he’s from your shelter, it’s ok. I thought you would’ve noticed me spending more time with her while I’m working.” Tim shrugged sheepishly.

“I’m still a little mad at you for not having me with you when it happened.” Fluttershy pouted, her tears no longer present.

“So much for the Element of Kindness” Tim said, a sly grin on his face.

Fluttershy recognized the phrase.

“Oh, you wanna see kindness? I’ll give you Kindness!” She said in a mock angry tone that was a little to quiet and high pitched to be taken seriously.

Flapping her wings, she shot towards Tim and hit him softly in the torso, wrapping her hooves and legs around him in a vice grip. Using her wings, she began to tickle under his arms and in the crook of his shoulders. Tim’s face cheeks inflated like a chipmunk and he burst out laughing as he tumbled to the ground.

After about five minutes of struggle, Tim gave up.

“Uncle! Uncle! I surrender to you oh kind and beautiful Fluttershy!” He laughed, now panting.

“The perks of feathers are quite nice.” Fluttershy giggled.

Suddenly his hands were around her barrel and she gasped and squeaked slightly in surprise.

“Sorry!” Tim stammered, removing his hands from the mare.

“No no no Tim! It’s ok, you just surprised me that’s all.” Fluttershy stuttered quietly.

Tim slowly moved his hands back up to her middle and gripped her lightly just under her wings.

Fluttershy let out a content sigh as she put her head on his chest as the cool breeze ran through her mane and fur once more. Angel and Fledge had joined the pair and were seated next to one another. Tim looked at the two pets and realized that this never would’ve happened on Earth, this was magical and he loved every bit of it. He never wanted to go home after he became friends with Fluttershy. He did live with her afterall and he was a major help around the house and at the shelter.

Tim moved his right hand to her head and brushed a lock of her soft pink mane out of her face so he could admire the view. Fluttershy’s beauty was unparalleled, well at least to Tim it was anyway.

Fluttershy motioned for him to run his fingers through her mane and Tim happily obliged.

Meanwhile, Fluttershy had a similar thought process going on in her head.

Tim had been with her through thick and thin for two years and never left once. Whenever she was sick, he had been there to care for her. When she was hurt, he took care of her and the animals. When she was sad, he was there to comfort her. When she felt lonely, he was there to be her friend. Fluttershy had hidden her romantic feelings for Tim for sometime now. She could no longer deny the pounding love she had for the human and the way he loved her as a friend, but would he ever love her as more than that? She was far too scared to ask him to be his special somepony and what if he found another mare? She was stuck as Tim would say: between a rock and a hard place. She needed to do it soon or her heart would wrench up and die from her pent up love and feelings for him. What she needed was the right moment. A time they felt connected, a time they bonded, a time-That was it! Fluttershy realised what she had to do in order to make herself comfortable enough to talk to Tim about her feelings.

“Hey Tim?” Fluttershy asked, picking her head up slightly.’

“Yeah Flutters?” He replied.

“Why don’t we head home? It’s getting late now.” She said softly.

“Sure. Though I wouldn’t mind laying here like this forever” Tim said with a smile.

Her heart and stomach fluttered like the butterflies on her flank.

The pair and their pets got up and began their walk back to the cottage.

Once they arrived, the two animals went upstairs to their respective places. Angel curled up on Fluttershy’s bed and Fledge sat atop her perch in Tim’s room.

“So Flutters? What do ya want to do?” Tim asked.

“How about we sing that song you taught me?” Fluttershy said, setting her master plan into motion.

“Well, I’d love to.” Tim said, walking over to the large grand piano that he had acquired from one Octavia Melody after he had taught her the art of “modern cello”, which helped her get along much better with her roommate, notorious DJ Vinyl Scratch.

Cracking his knuckles, he played the first few chords to acquaint himself with the song.

Then he began.

Tim and Fluttershy’s voices rang through the house with undeniable beauty as they belted out word after word. Their pitches mixed perfectly and the pair had soon lost themselves in the music. When the song ended, there was a look of sheer disappointment plastered to their faces.

“That was amazing!” Fluttershy flapped her wings in excitement.

“Quite right Flutters.” Tim said, winking at her.

“Tim?” She asked.

“Yes?”

“Can you play me a different song?” Fluttershy asked him, a look of hope in her eyes.

“Why would I say no? Here’s another one of my favorites. It’s for you and I’m singing it about you.” Tim blushed.

Her heart jumped and wings twitched at the gesture.

Fluttershy was on the verge of tears as she listened to the words of the ballad with eager ears and finally the dam broke and a single tear dripped down her cheek as the song ended.

Tim noticed her tear and jumped to her side.

“Flutters are you ok?” Tim asked worriedly.

“No Tim. I’m just fine. That was a really beautiful song.” Fluttershy sniffed.

“Fluttershy, you’ve been acting weird lately and I’m wondering what’s going on with you. What’s on your mind?” Tim asked.

Fluttershy’s mind screamed in panic and she shot out of his arms and sobbed while flying into a nearby bedroom. To her horror, she realized too late that it was Tim’s room. Before she could escape, Tim opened and shut the door quickly, locking it behind him. Fledge’s head shot up from the crook in his wing and he looked back and forth between the human and the mare.

Fluttershy began to sob into a pillow, realizing she had probably blown her one chance with Tim.

“Flutters, I am not going to take no for an answer anymore. Something is clearly on your mind and it isn’t gonna get any better until you talk about it.” Tim said firmly as he laid down beside her.

Fluttershy turned her body away from him in shame.

“You’ll think I’m stupid!” She argued.

“Why in the name of Celestia’s mane would I do that? You are one of the nicest mares I know and as your best friend, I need to know what’s bothering you so much so we can resolve the issue.” Tim said gently, putting a hand on her shoulder and flipping her around so he could stare into those brilliant cerulean eyes of hers.

“Tim...” Fluttershy began.

“Yeah Flutters?”

“Will you be.............my special somepony?” She flinched as she blurted out the last part and scrunched her face up.

Tim was shocked, he didn’t know Fluttershy liked him as much as he did her. It was like the planets aligned and formed their destiny right then and there.

“Yes” Tim whispered to her.

Fluttershy’s eyes shot open.

“D-did you j-just say?” She asked in a shaky voice.

“I said yes Flutters. A thousand times yes. I’ve been waiting to make a move.” Tim admitted.

“Funny how that works out.” Fluttershy smiled sheepishly.

“You wanna hear one last song? On my guitar this time?” Tim asked.

“Oh that would be wonderful.” Fluttershy said, wiping her tears away and sitting up. Tim pulled the instrument from its case and gave it a test strum.

Then he began to play...

The song actually made Fluttershy cry in happiness as she nuzzled into his side. When the song ended, Tim secured his guitar and pulled the covers up for Fluttershy.

“How about you stay the night in here? Just the two of us, together to cuddle?” Tim asked.

“I’d really like that Tim, but can I get Angel?” She asked.

“Of course.” Tim smiled as she flew and quickly retrieved the white rabbit and set him down as she shut the lights off.

Fluttershy climbed under the covers and Tim stripped and put on a pair of gym shorts, opting to stay shirtless. He was no hunk but he was beefy and muscular as needed.

“This comfortable?” Tim asked her, gesturing to his shirtless torso.

“Yeah, I’ve kinda wondered what it feels like anyway.” Fluttershy said.

As Tim crawled under the covers, he wrapped his big arms around the yellow pegasus and held her close to him. Fluttershy in turn, wrapped her own hooves around his broad shoulders and back, feeling the warmth coming off of his form gently soothe her own body.
She took yet another risk and moved her head forward, closing the gap between them and letting her soft lips brush against his. The feeling sent her sky high and into a whole new world of bliss as she moaned quietly into his mouth. Tim returned the favor and brought his hand to her cheek, brushing it with his thumb. They continued to kiss deeply, savoring each other’s taste as they lay in the dim moonlight entering the room from Tim’s window.

When they finally broke apart, they looked into each other’s eyes once more.

“I love you Fluttershy.” Tim whispered, kissing her forehead.

“I love you too Tim.” Fluttershy said and kissed his nose lightly.

They drifted off to a pleasant and beautiful dream filled night.
