> Spring Buddies, Well Not Exactly > by Penguin_Pop34 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Chirp, chirp," the sound of crickets made as the three roommates peacefully sleep in their cozy beds. Not a creature is stirring, except Sonata. Sonata had a lot on her mind recently, ever since the Winter Formal, she was reminded of Adagio's Birthday coming up. And she totally forgot! What kind of friend am I? she thought. Sonata sat up from her bed to take a sip of her water, and she lied down again to ponder. What should I get for Dagi? To show how much I care for her? She took a peek at Adagio, who had a mess of hair, snoring away in a deep sleep. Sonata put on her pink, fluffy slippers and snuck towards Adagio's bed, looking in her desk. It's not the right thing to do, but I don't have another choice. As she opened the desk drawer, she mostly found autographs from the Wondercolts team. Figures. Sonata thought. As she dug deeper in the drawer, she found the pendent Sonata gave her, and a letter Adagio planned to give to Santa, Dear Santa, Now, I don't know if you are real or not, but there's one thing I want for Christmas, friends. I know I have Sonata and Aria, but who says you can't have more friends? Sonata had silent tears after reading that. I know what I can do for her birthday. I know it's 12:00 pm, but it's worth it. she grabbed her cellphone, and texted Sunset. Sunset, Dagi's Birthday is coming up, meet me next week at the swimming pool in the campus. She took one last look at Adagio. And Sonata whispered, "Don't worry, my friend." The next morning, Sonata woke up to the screams of Adagio, Sonata jumped out of bed, wondering what's going on. "Dagi! Da..." Sonata stopped to see that she forgot to put all the stuff back into the desk drawers. Autographs were scattered on the floor, and the Santa wish list is in Adagio's hair. "A robber was here! Who went through my stuff! SONATA!!!" Adagio yelled at the top of her lungs. "Oopsies," Sonata stammered nervously, and quietly left the scene. > Chapter 1: Paper Airplanes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's the time of day, where winter break is officially over, and students have to go to school again, people rush to their classes like a maniac, while others sleep in, just like Aria and Adagio, who didn't quite get the catch that is class time. RING RING! the alarm rang noisily. "Ugh, Aria, could you get that?" Adagio moaned. "Fine," Aria sighed and slammed the alarm to turn it off, and it ended up falling to the ground, still constantly ringing. "WHY WON'T THIS STUPID ALARM TURN OFF!?" Aria yelled, stomping on the alarm. "Aria, just use the switch to turn it off. Use common sense," Adagio said, as she face palmed herself. Aria flipped the switch, which finally, became silent. "Now back to bed!" Wait, where is Sonata? Adagio thought as she took a peek at Sonata's bed. Huh, she must've woken up early. Adagio rubbed her eyes as she looked at the calendar, "OH MY GOSH ARIA, we overslept! Winter break ended today!" she yelled. "WHAT!? Well Sonata could've woken us up!" Aria said, as she jumped out of bed quickly. Adagio ran after her, they only had ten minutes to wash, get dressed, eat their breakfast, grab their supplies, and run all the way to the classroom building. But of course, Aria and Adagio both agreed that they would definitely arrive to class late. They rushed towards the bathroom, and got ready as quick as they could. "Where is my hairbrush!? Adagio asked. Aria glared at Adagio. "Not now! I'm using it!" After they finally brushed their teeth, and brushed their hair, Adagio and Aria ran towards their laundry basket. "Oh! My poor hair! If you hadn't hogged the hairbrush, I would have taken care of my hair like I usually did!" Adagio complained. "Shut up, stop complaining, and GET DRESSED!" Aria yelled. Then they put on the clothes they wore yesterday, smelling them just in case it they're dirty. That smells fine, that too, UGH! That smells horrible! Thank goodness I have spare jeans! Aria thought and put her clothes on. Adagio went ahead and just put her clothes on, smelly or not smelly, she can just spray it with perfume. They grabbed their bags and rushed to the café to grab some orange juice, and a donut just in case they spill their juice while running. As they entered the classroom, they saw confused students, including Sonata, staring at them. "Dagi, Ari, why are you carrying orange juice and a donut? And why are you guys late? We've already taken our 2nd quarter exam," Sonata said. "Don't ask," Adagio said. Sonata glared at the two late students. "I already have!" "Now, now Sonata, I'll take care of this," Mrs. Jubilee said. "Girls! Since you are late, you will have detention at 3:00 pm. Understand!?" "Yes Mrs. Jubilee," Adagio and Aria muttered. "Now come sit down, and make up your exam. You have one hour, starting, now," Jubilee said. The exam was mainly on life science and biology, which is Aria's worst subject, and Adagio's least favorite subject. Aria and Adagio began tapping their pencils on the paper, answering questions on the exam. Aria then looked around to see what other students were doing. Sonata opened her favorite book, The Guide to Tacos, while others read other books. Adagio began taking her exam, while Aria began fiddling with her pencil. While Mrs. Jubilee wasn't looking, Aria folded papers, mainly, her exam, into a paper airplane, and threw them at Adagio's hair. At first, Adagio didn't notice. Then Aria tapped her shoulder, and whispered, "Hey Adagio, what nice hair you have!" "What!?" Adagio said, as she pulled a paper airplane out of her hair. "Is this some kind of joke!?" "HEY! Why are you talking Mrs. Adagio!?" Mrs. Jubilee yelled. Aria smirked. "Busted!" "That is not helpful!" Adagio said. "Aria threw paper airplanes at my glorious hair! Just look at me!" she pointed at her hair sadly. "Aria, how many times do I have to tell you, no throwing paper airplanes! especially using you exam as a toy! And Adagio! You could have politely came up to me and told me what's going on! You both will have detention for one hour more!" Mrs. Jubilee said, as she sipped her coffee. "Nice going, poofylocks!" Aria said. "Well done, airplanefreak!" Adagio growled. Sonata sighed, then giggled. "Will they ever get along?" After biology, it was time to go to the library, Sonata had to find a book for her research project on an animal. "Hmm, fish? Nah. Eagles? Nah. Oh, oh, oh! Puppies! Their adorable!" Sonata said as she opened the door to the library. Aria decided to sit on the library couch to take a nap, Crunch. Aria jumped, then she reached into her pocket to find her smashed paper airplane. "Hmm." Sonata went wild on the puppies books, shelf after shelf. She ended up with ten books about puppies to research on. "Excuse me? But can I get these checked out? I have a research project to do," Sonata said. After Sonata checked out, she went to Aria, who was running around, throwing her paper airplane. "Ari?" Sonata questioned. Aria suddenly stopped, blushed embarrassedly and said, "Come on, let's just go." Sonata laughed considering Aria was acting like a child, "Let's go, you have detention with Dagi, remember?" Sonata reminded. Aria went back to her grouchy face, and mumbled, "I know, whatever." Adagio was back at the dorm, cleaning up her desk. She looked at her watch, surprised that she was going to be late for detention. She ran as fast as she could to Mrs. Jubilee's classroom, and sat down, along with Aria and a few other students who as well have detention. "Hey airplanefreak, thanks for getting us in prison!" Adagio whispered. Aria glared at Adagio, hiding her paper airplane, "Oh, be quiet!" > Chapter 2: Singing Lessons > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, after the paper airplane incident, Fluttershy woke up to the sound of chirping birds outside of her window, along with her roommate, Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy thanked the birds for the wake up call and hopped out of her bed along with a lime green bedspread with lavender butterflies on them. Rainbow didn't agree on the thought of robins annoyingly chirp constantly in the morning, so she had enough. "Oh quit it birds! I need my rest!" Rainbow hissed. Fluttershy glared at Rainbow, and yelled at her. "Rainbow! These are innocent little birds that are waking us up so we won't be late for class! Isn't that right little robin?" Fluttershy said as she opened her window to pet the baby robins. "Shh, it's okay, you can calm down. Here's a worm." Rainbow looked at Fluttershy with a sick look. Why does she carry worms around? But she didn't question it to her. "Oh, your voice is oh so pretty!" Fluttershy complimented the birds, and sang along with them after Rainbow left for class. "There's music in the treetops, and there's music in the vale, and all around the music fills the sky! There's music by the river, and there's music in the grass! And the music makes your heart soar in reply! Ahh ahh, ah ah ah ah, ahh, ahh, ah ah ah!" Fluttershy sang. What she didn't realize is that Sonata was waiting outside of her dorm room waiting to head to biology class with Fluttershy. "Hey, Flutters! You door was unlocked! So what's taking you sooo..." Sonata trailed of as she was hypnotized in Fluttershy's beautiful voice, Her pitches are perfect! Sonata thought. Fluttershy jumped and turned around, to see a hypnotized Sonata, she stammered with the quietest voice she ever made, "You, d-didn't see t-that did y-you?" Sonata snapped out of her trance, and squealed with happiness, "Are you kidding me? That was the most beautiful voice I've ever heard! You should make a concert!" "No! Absolutely not! I can't stand standing in front of an audience!!" Fluttershy snapped at Sonata. Soon, she calmed down to hear the scared whimpers of Sonata. "Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't know what came over me!" Fluttershy apologized. "No it's okay. But you should share your voice at some point. How about after biology, let's talk about singing together! There is a talent show coming next week!" Sonata suggested. "Sounds... nice," Fluttershy said. When Sonata and Fluttershy arrived to biology, (Luckily, right on time) they sat down in their seats to take a pop quiz, which Sonata hated. But Fluttershy didn't complain and finished hers in a matter of minutes. Soon the bell rang to excuse the students for lunch. When the two girls entered the Canterlot University Café, Fluttershy ran towards the buffet section considering she didn't have breakfast. She got some celery with ranch, along with milk and a vegetarian burger. While Sonata grabbed some water and a buritto since they didn't have tacos at the moment. As they sat down with Adagio and Aria, Sonata asked Fluttershy something. "Hey Flutters! Since we are singing together at the talent show, could you give me some singing lessons? I'm a bit rusty." "Sure," Fluttershy said. "Wait, you two are singing together at the talent show? That's hilarious!!" Aria laughed. Adagio bumped Aria on the arm with her elbow and made a weird smile. "We would like to join you guys! Right Aria?" Aria rubbed her arm and cringed. "Ow! Okay! We will join you guys!" Sonata made a wide smile, the same smile when she first moved in, in the beginning of the year. "For realizes? Yippie! We're going to be a quintet!" "You mean, a quartet," Fluttershy corrected. Sonata rolled her eyes, "Potato! Tomato!" ___________0o0___________ The next day, which is a weekend, Fluttershy went to the auditorium along with Sonata, Aria, and Adagio to get singing lessons. "Alright, let's get started! Sonata, let's see your singing." Sonata sang as best as she could, she sang beautifully, although she is a little off beat. When Adagio sang, she is a little off pitched, but with perfect rhythm, Aria sang really well with the low notes, but had trouble with the high notes, since she has a deep voice, and the screeching, Fluttershy had to cover her ears so she wouldn't go deaf. "Alright girls, you sang really good, but each of you have some flaws and some things we need to work on," Fluttershy said. "Okie dokie lokie!" Sonata said. While Adagio and Aria groaned in reply. A few days passed, and it's the day when the talent show started. The principal called out numbers for contestants to come up on the stage. When Trixie and the Illusions went on stage, they sang Tricks Up My Sleeve. And everyone clapped and screamed, "We love you Trixie!" Sonata was shaking all over the place. "I think I have butterflies in my tummy!" "Oh, Sonata. Remember what you said? But you should share your voice at some point," Fluttershy said. "Okay, I'll try," Sonata said. "Number 15!" "That's us!" Adagio said. They ran up the stage, and music blared out of the speakers. Sonata held up her mic, and started to sing with the group. "Oh whoa! Oh whoa! You didn't know that you fell! Oh whoa! Oh whoa! Now that you're under our spell!" After the song was over, students were screaming and clapping. And Fluttershy felt, proud of herself! It was exactly when her pets cheered for her at home! "We, did it?" Aria said. "We did! That felt awesome!" Sonata said. "And the winner of this talent show, is..." "Fluttershy, Sonata, Aria, and Adagio!" The principal handed Fluttershy a gold trophy, with their names indented on it. Trixie stomped across the stage. "THIS ISN'T OVER!" > Chapter 3: Slumber Party at my Dorm!! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sonata stepped off the stage with pride, and giggled with delight. The whole crowd was yelling for an autograph. And Adagio willingly signed them. Fluttershy was struggling with the heavy trophy, her arms felt like spaghetti, and she was about to die with embarrassment. Luckily, Aria helped her carry the trophy down the steps, then suddenly they bumped into a certain pink haired girl, who was gasping so hard. Aria thought her mouth was going to tear. "OH MY GOSH, YOU WERE... quote from Dashie, AWESOME!!!" Pinkie squealed. "Especially Fluttershy, who I didn't expect to sing in front of screaming fans, in a big stage, with a bright spotlight, and one mistake, can ruin her whole life, and the crowd will-" "Pinkie, not now," Aria said, pointing at Fluttershy, who was shaking violently, and tears were running down her eyes. "Oopsie daisy! Well, since you're here, SLUMBER PARTY AT MY DORM!" Pinkie said. Aria facepalmed herself, and sighed, "It feels like when Sonata moved in." After Adagio blew kisses to the audience, she walked towards Fluttershy, who was whimpering and waved nervously. "Hi.. I'm... Fluttershy." "Yeah, I know, we sang together ten minutes ago," Adagio said. "Hey! When's the slumber party!" Sonata said, popping out of nowhere. "Eep! WOULD YOU PLEASE STOP WITH THAT!" Fluttershy screamed, jumping back towards Adagio. "And how did you know about the, you know," Aria asked. "I don't know, overheard you I guess," Sonata pondered, tapping her chin. They stared at Sonata for a while, then they all carried the trophy to the trophy showcase room in the dorm lobby. "Soo, slumber party?" Pinkie asked. Adagio and Aria stared at Fluttershy. "Nope, I have a birdwatching club meeting, see ya!" Fluttershy said, sprinting right away, out of the doors, to the meeting. Pinkie Pie slowly stepped in, with a smile on her face. "Slumber party?" Sonata nodded repeatedly. Adagio and Aria looked at each other, and sighed, "Okay..." "Yippie!" Pinkie and Sonata said together. A few hours later, Adagio packed her sleeping bag, and her toothbrush, while Aria packed her blanket, and her game console. Sonata packed her stuffed animals, and her fluffy, unicorn sleeping bag and pillow. They left for the elevator, and went down to the 3rd floor, straight to Pinkie Pie's dorm room. They knocked the door, and the door opened. "Hey! You guys came! I thought you would just stay in! Heh! Wouldn't want cabin fever, wouldn't you?" Pinkie giggled. "Come on in!" Aria turned around. "No." "But there's video games!" Pinkie said. Aria turned around again, and sprinted into Pinkie room. "What are we waiting for?" At 7:00 pm, Sonata and Pinkie were playing with their unicorn action figures, while Aria was playing Mario Kart with Adagio. "Yes, I'm going to win!" Adagio said. Aria had enough, and disconnected Adagio's Wii remote. "I doubt it." "Come on, CarmelCorn! Let's go to the cotton candy fields, there's a birthday party coming up!" Sonata said. "Yea, Cupcake! we'd better come now, or Peppermint will not be happy, do you realize how much she goes into rage mode!?" Pinkie said. "Tell be about it!" Sonata said. Meanwhile, Adagio and Aria were fighting over which video game to play. "Pokémon 2!" "Minecraft!" "Just Dance!" "Dora and the Snow Princess!" "Wait, WHAT?" "Nothing." When nighttime arose, everyone fell asleep, almost. Adagio had a mess of hair, as usual. Aria was playing on her DS, Sonata hugged her teddy bear, and Pinkie slept in a weird position. Ring Ring!!! the alarm rang as the four girls snapped awake. "What time is it?" Aria moaned. "9:00, thank goodness it's spring break," Adagio said. "My poor hair again!" "This is the best sleepover ever! When's the next one?" Sonata asked. Adagio and Aria shook their heads in disbelief. "No, no, no." "Worst!" Sonata pouted. The three girls packed their bags, and got their clothes on. "Aww, too bad you can't stay for pancakes! I made fresh ones!" Pinkie said. Sonata stared, drooling. Adagio rolled her eyes. "Fine." Pinkie set up a little pink table along with blue pillows to sit on. Sonata gobbled the pancakes in seconds, while Adagio and Aria stared at her, then ate some strawberries Adagio brought. "So, how's college?" Sonata asked, with a mouthful of pancakes. Pinkie thought for a bit. "It's good, but all the teachers are boring! They're too serious! Once I got detention for throwing a study party! I mean, how mean is that!?" "Yeah, total meanies..." Aria said sarcastically. "Well, Pinkie, how's the Wondercolt stuff?" Adagio asked excitedly. "Sorry, Dagi has Wondercolt fever," Sonata said, sighing annoyingly. "Oh! It's going great! Me, Applejack, and Dashie are the offence, but the soccer ball is a big round meanie! When Dashie passed the ball to me at practice, it just decided to hit me on the shoulder!" Pinkie whined. "It still hurts!" "Tell me about it! When I was ten, I was in soccer practice, and when I meant to kick it in the goal, it rolled away! And another player from the other team stole it!" Sonata said, crossing her arms. "Well, it's time to go. I'm supposed to study with Twilight. She says I need some education. Bye Pinkie," Aria said. "Bye girls! See you later!" Pinkie said. "Hey! Why don't we have Pinkie over at our dorm for a slumber party?" Sonata suggested. Adagio and Aria looked at her, and shouted at the same time, "NO!" > Chapter 4: BOOKS!!! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aria walked angrily towards the elevator, along with a cheerful Sonata, and a dazed Adagio. "That was the most pointless sleepover in the whole university, no!! The whole world!!" Aria complained. "It wouldn't have been pointless if you were thankful instead of being grumpy," Adagio sighed, leaning against the elevator wall. "He, he! Wooooorst!" Sonata giggled, eating a strawberry poptart. "Okay, please stop. I'm only saying this once," Aria said. Ding! The elevator door opened to the lobby, and Aria walked out the doors with her ipod. Sonata had a confused look. "Dagi, Ari is the worst, for realizes!" "Give it some time, Sonata. Give it some time," Adagio said, shaking her head. Meanwhile, Aria walked towards the library, listening to Shake Your Tail on her ipod. As she opened the doors, the library was surprisingly crowded, half of the students were reading the new comic, Power Ponies: Comic 10 While others are doing research on the computers. Twilight waved her hand back and forth until Aria noticed, and she sat down with her. "Hi. Ready to learn?" Twilight asked. Aria rolled her eyes. "You sound like my kindergarden teacher." Twilight giggled and opened up a college dictionary. "Now, you struggle with your vocabulary class, right?" "Yeah..." Aria said. "Well, the vocab exam is coming up, and the teacher was polite enough to give me a copy of the exam to study, so let's answer these questions shall we?" Twilight said. This is going to be a while. "Okay," Aria said. Book after book, Math, Biology, History, Technology, Twilight helped Aria with problems and research. Soon, the sun began to set, and students began to leave the library, along with the two girls. ___________________ Sonata opened up her laptop to continue her essay on puppies. She had a messy stack of files and papers with as much information about puppies as she could get, along with a mug of tea and a little bowl of potato chips. Sonata printed out her essay and put on her pajamas, and sat on her bed, drinking her tea. "Dagi, I've been thinking, since your birthday is coming up, why don't we go to Mrs. Cake's café for dessert?" Sonata asked. Adagio smiled and took a chip from Sonata's bowl. "Sure thing, Taco Lady." "Hey! That's not funny!" Sonata giggled. "By the way, Aria should have been back by now from studying with Twilight, do you think she's okay?" Adagio turned on the shower, grabbing the shampoo. "Yeah, she should be fine. Tomorrow, we're going on some errands, but I have to make up a quiz and Aria has to travel for a job interview. You're lucky you have a job, Sonata," Adagio said, along with noisy water splashing noises. "So I'll give the list of errands to you to complete. Is that okay?" "Yeah, it's okay. And thanks for reminding me, I have work tomorrow!" Sonata said, lying down on her bed. Adagio turned off the shower, putting on a towel. "Sonata, could you check on Aria? It's past 8:00 pm, and she's still not here." Sonata nodded. "Okie dokie lokie!" ___________________ Aria and Twilight went to Mrs. Cake's café for a coffee break. Twilight ordered extra sugar to keep her awake while studying overnight. "So, who is your roommate or roommates?" Aria asked. "Applejack. We get along fine. Pinkie is roommates with Rarity and Sunset, And Rainbow is roommates with Fluttershy." Twilight said. "That's interesting. Did you know that Adagio freaks about you guys? She adores the Wondercolts," Aria smirked. "I figured." Twilight said, sipping her warm coffee. Mrs. Cake walked over with a tray of two small cheesecakes, and placed it on their table. "Thanks," Aria said, taking a slice. Before Aria could take a bite, Sonata came bursting through the glass doors, panting. "There you are! Dagi and me were getting worried about you! You do realize it's 9:00 right now!?" Aria sighed. "Well, I needed a break from all that studying, and Twilight offered to have a little coffee break, she even paid for me!" "Can we take these cakes to go please?" Twilight asked. Mr. Cake brought a paper bag and put the cheesecakes in, and handed it over to her. "Thanks, Twilight. See you later," Aria said, grabbing the bag and running after Sonata. When they've reached the dorm, Adagio was watching TV on her favorite channel, and Aria went to the bathroom to take a warm bath. "Oh! Oh! I love that show! I wanna watch!" Sonata squealed. Aria stepped in the bathtub, smiling. Thank you, Twilight, my friend. ___________________ Twilight stepped out of the bathroom and went to bed. She pulled the covers over her. "Where ya'll went today?" Applejack asked, typing an email. "To the library, a friend needed help on her studies," Twilight answered. "Well that's nice of you. Say, was it that girl with purple hair and seafoam green highlights?" Applejack said. "Yes, her name is Aria. She has two other friends named Adagio and Sonata I think," Twilight said. "Okay, let's hit the hay. It's getting late," Applejack yawned. Twilight nodded in agreement considering that it was a long day of work. And she rested her head on her pillow. The moon shined bright in the sky, Owlishious was outside of the window, whooing and flapping. Twilight slept peacefully in her bed, with a smile on her face. Meanwhile, Adagio, Sonata, and Aria were not even asleep yet. "Dagi, could you please turn on the night light? I'm getting scared," Sonata asked. "You're always scared," Adagio said, turning on the night light. Aria snorted and fell onto her bed. And the three girls slept in silence. Well, for ten minutes. SNORE Adagio snored with the usual mess of hair. Sonata and Aria had enough of it. "STOP SNORING!!!" > Chapter 5: RODEO > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight woke up to the sound of chirping birds and bright sunlight. Applejack was reading a letter from Applebloom. It was wet because the rain, but she could manage to read it. Dear sis, I made a new friend, with Button Mash. Turns out he doesn't have a special talent either. And Sweetie Bell has a tiny crush on him, she's been blushing a lot! Anyway, miss you already. Please write back! Love, Applebloom. Typical Applebloom. Applejack thought as she put the letter on top of her other letters. "Applejack, since it's the weekend, what are you going to do? I'm going to a spelling bee with the other highly advanced students. And the prize is one thousand dollars!" Twilight bragged. Applejack rolled her eyes and smiled. "I'm going to a rodeo tonight. Had to rent a bull to ride on. Sigh, too bad Applebloom isn't coming." "I heard Sonata is coming. Isn't she part of the cooking club you're in too?" Twilight asked as she brushed her hair. "Ya'll comin' too? Well besides you of course," Applejack questioned as she put on a plaid shirt. "Pinkie, Rainbow, and Fluttershy are. Rarity can't come because she's worried that mud will get on her dress," Twilight giggled. Applejack laughed along. "Typical Rarity." "Well, I'm going to the library to find some books to read. An essay isn't going to finish itself!" Twilight said and left the dorm. Meanwhile, Sonata put on a white and blue cowgirl hat and danced around like bull gone wrong. "Yee haw!" "Sonata! Don't step on my magazine collection!" Adagio yelled. "Sonata! Don't step on my DSi!" Aria wailed. "I DON'T CARE! I LOVE IT!!!" Sonata squealed. She grabbed a jump rope and lassoed Aria. "WHAT IN THE GOD DANG WORLD ARE YOU DOING!?" Aria screamed. "You aren't yourself these days. Are you sick?" Adagio asked. Sonata pouted and dropped Aria onto the ground. "OW!!" "DUH! The rodeo is coming tonight! My cooking partner, Applejack is competing! Didn't you see the obvious banner hanging on the side of the classroom building!?" Sonata said as she untied Aria. "NO NEED TO LASSO ME YOU TACO IDIOT!" Aria shouted. "Pfft. Wooorrrsstt!" Sonata smirked. "OH YEAH!?" Aria angrily said. Her face turned red. "Girls, calm down. We don't want to be living in the streets do we?" Adagio sighed. "Hey ya'll," A voice said. "APPLEJACK!" Sonata said and hugged her tightly. "Whoa! No need to be so mushy!" Applejack said. "Please let me go, a'h can't breathe." " Then let's go to the Canterlot Café." Sonata said as she rushed out the door. Applejack's eyes widen, and turned to Adagio and Aria. Aria was moaning on the ground. Adagio had the same facial expression as Apple jack. "Don't ask." Sonata grabbed a tray and grabbed a crispy, meat taco. "Have you been practicing AJ?" Applejack grabbed a tray and grabbed an apple fritter. "Yeah, ever since last week. How are your classes goin'?" They sat down next to Adagio and Aria, both eating stew. "Not bad. Dagi keeps messing with her hair, and Ari keeps sneaking in her DSi. Figures," Sonata giggled. "Hi, might if I sit with you?" Twilight asked. "Sure! The more the merrier!" "I have to travel to the Crystal Academy to compete in the Spelling Bee in a hour, wish me luck!" Twilight said, stuffing her face in burgers. "Good luck. Have you been studying late in the night again?" Applejack asked. "Yeah, I didn't realize how hungry I was!" Twilight slurped her tea. "YAY! FOOD EATING CONTEST!" Sonata said and stuffed her face with tacos. Slurping and stuffing. Applejack looked at them in disgust and slowly picked up her tray and sat on the other side of the table where Rainbow was sitting. "Yo, AJ! What's up? And what's with Twilight and Sonata?" Rainbow asked while eating pieces of chicken. "Don't ask. Well, you already did," Applejack said, finally eating her apple fritter. After a hearty meal, Sonata watched Applejack warm up for the rodeo. She cheered will all her might. "GOOO!!! COME ON!" Applejack finished off throwing the last barrel, which flew all the way to the forest. Let's just hope that it didn't fall on any animal. Fluttershy wouldn't be too happy. She lied on the ground to gasp for air. Sonata squealed with delight. "That was, AWESOME! Uh, are you okay?" As the moon rose, people were cheering and screaming as competitors were throwing barrels as far as they could, and as many as they could. "GOOOO!! APPLEJACK!" Pinkie and Sonata cheered. Lots of lights were hanging on the poles, people were buying apple cider, and others were wearing cowboy and cowgirl outfit just for the occasion. "Yay!" Fluttershy whispered. "Yeah, AJ! Braeburn too!" Rainbow jumped up and down. Applejack had one last barrel. She threw it with all she's got. After lots more competitions, the placing are made. "FIRST PLACE GOES TO BRAEBURN AND APPLEJACK. THEY'VE TIED EVERY GAME. SECOND PLACE GOES TO -" and it goes on. "Good job, cuz!" Breaburn said, nudging Applejack in the shoulder. "You too," Applejack said. "WOOO! Woooooooo....." And Sonata fell onto the ground, gasping for air after screaming a lot. Applejack walked towards Sonata. "Thanks for comin', uhh, are you okay?"
