Rainbow Dash woke up and thought that everything is okay. She trot outside to check morning mail.

"Commercial, commercial, bill, some package, newspaper and letter from...mom?" Rainbow was pretty confused. Her mom didn't write to her very often, except when something very bad has happened, or in some case very very exciting thing.

Dear Dash

A terrible accident happened with your dad. He was in hospital, but...died in few days. Funerals are on Wednesday. Sorry you have to know that

Mom

Rainbow's hooves started shaking. Letter fell on the cloud floor.

"That's not true." she said quietly to herself. She opened her wings and dashed away, to Cloudsdale, where her mom lives and dad lived.

AN 10 MINUTES LATER

Dash knocked on their old home door. Her mom, blue maned pink pegasus named Firefly, came to door. Her face was striped from tears

"Hey RD..." said her mom

"Is it true? Is he really dead?" ask Rainbow.

"Yes...I'm sorry Dash. You know he had heart problems and he just died in a heart attack. But it happened at night when he slept." said her mom, tears streaming down from her eyes. That was hard to Rainbow to see her mother cry and holding tears back. She had one rule to herself. Don't start crying, like never.

"Mom, please don't cry. You know I don't like to see it." said Rainbow quietly to her mom.

"Sorry Rainbow. It's just hard. You're coming to funerals right?" asked her mom as she wiped away tears what were running down from her eyes.

"Of curse I'm coming. But now I have to go. I have to take care of clouds. Bye."

"Bye."

AFTER

Rainbow kicked clouds with inveigh. That was her way to deal with sadness. Crying was for weak ponies.

"It's.Not. FAIR!" shouted Rainbow when she thought nopony was around.

"What isn't fair?" asked Applejack who had walked by. Fluttershy,Rarity,Twilight and Pinkie were with her.

"It's nothing I was talking about." said cyan Pegasus when she landed. She tried to make careless face, but that didn't came out well.

"Rainbow I know that look. You are upset about something, right?" said Twilight.

"I don't wanna talk about it." mumbled Dash.

"Rainbow!" said Twilight demandingly.

"Alright, fine! I just got to know that my father died. Happy now?" said RD with shaking voice.

"Oh,Dash I feel sorry for you." said Twilight.

"That's nothing." lied Rainbow.

"That is a thing darling. Can you say when are the funerals?" asked Rarity.

"On Wednesday. You can come if you want." answered Dash.

"I'm coming. I was pretty good friends with him. He took me and you like everywhere." said Applejack.

"Me too." said Fluttershy.

"We're all coming." said Pinkie Pie, who actually hated funerals. They were always so sad and no fun or laughing.

ON WEDNESDAY

At 12.30 Rainbow Dash and her friends went to funeral place. Dash had been extraordinary quiet this day. Of curse other 5 understood it. Especially Applejack understood that. She had lost both parents in a accident when she was 8 years old.

On the way there they met Soarin, Rainbow's few months ago found coltfriend. He had already heard what happened. And he had invited too.

"Hi, RD..." said Soarin.

"Hi, Soar..." answered Dash. She wasn't in mood to talk.

AT FUNERALS

Dash didn't wanted to watch her dad lying in that chest. When she looked, all her memories of her dad spending time with her, came into her mind. That hurt. A lot.

Rainbow saw her mother who cried hard. But then she felt a warm hoof on her shoulder. As Dash looked to right side of her's she saw Soarin who made a weak smile, but Rainbow couldn't smile. There was so many things going on in her head. Like question: "Why that happened?".

Soarin like had understood her thoughts and frowned. He put his wing over Rainbow's back and Rainbow put head on his shoulder and closed her eyes for a minute.

Was time to push chest to the hole in the ground. A soft thump was heard. That done Rainbow turned around and walked away. Soarin thought for an second and then followed.

"Dash! Wait up!" shouted stallion to Rainbow who started to fly off.

Rainbow closed her wings and said: "I couldn't be there more time and I thought it's better to go home.".

"I understand you, but would I come with you?" asked Soarin.

"I love that idea. I could have some company. I don't wanna be alone at home today." answered Dash and made a very weak smile.

Dash opened her home door. "Come in." said Rainbow to Soarin. He stepped in. Soarin had never been to Rainbow's house. It was pretty and big.

Soarin had noticed that Rainbow Dash is trying hard to hold tears back, when she looked at a photo of her dad and her. He's ear caught a quiet whisper from Rainbow's mouth. She said: "Rainbow you can't cry. Just don't act like a child.".

"Dash...You want to cry right?" asked Soarin.

"I don't wanna admit it, but yes. It's hard to deal with it. But crying is so weird for me. Last time I cried was about ten years ago, so when I was 7 years old. Another years I have lived without it." answered Rainbow.

"I know you hate crying, but sometimes it's good for you."

"What do you mean?"

"I meant that if you don't let you're feelings out eventually, you might start crying on very bad time. Like in Academy or just hanging out with you're friends. I want best for you."

Rainbow Dash felt that feeling when you can't hold you're feelings much longer. She thought about times as filly and her dad spent time with her, about how he thought to Rainbow how to fly. How he looked after her if mom wasn't home.

Rainbow felt those tears streaming down from her eyes. Soarin noticed that and frowned a bit. He felt himself a bit guilty, but still that was best for her. He took Rainbow to his hug and kissed her forehead. Rainbow hid her face into Soarin's fur and started sobbing.

"Why? Why did he die?" whispered Dash.

"Maybe there was an lesson for you." said Soarin quietly.

"Like what?" asked Rainbow, still whispering.

"I don't know. Maybe you find it out soon." replied Soarin.

With every second, there came more tears from Rainbow's eyes, she had finally understood completely, that she had to let it out.

Soarin let some tears to come from his eyes too.

"I have that feeling that I wanna break something." said Dash through tears.

"That's normal, but I think not the greatest idea." replied Soarin with a little chuckle

"I know..." said Rainbow still crying.

Then she sobbed very hard again, that wasn't easy to accept a fact that her father was dead. For very long time.

Once Rainbow Dash stopped again, she said:

"Sorry for that crying burst."

"That's okay." said Soarin, smiling

"And I think I'm done now. I feel much better." said Rainbow as she wiped her tears away.

"Great! I said that would be good for you." replied Soarin.

"And now I think that I have to go and wash my face. That might be pretty red from that crying." said Rainbow as she went to the bathroom.

She is very pretty thought Soarin.

FEW MINUTES LATER

"Hey." said Rainbow Dash as she trotted out from bathroom.

"Hey, sweetie." replied Soarin

Rainbow blushed. Everytime Soarin called her pet names, Dash liked it, but that made her blush too.

"You're staying today, right?" asked Rainbow

"Sure, if you can bear my snoring." chuckled Soarin.

"Yeah, sure I can." smiled Dash

Then she looked at clock and surprised.

"When we came here?" asked Dash from Soarin

"About around 5.00 PM. Why?" said Soarin

"I just discovered I have cried a bit less than 2 and half hours. Even Fluttershy don't cry so much." answered Dash

"Don't be nervous, that not change you." said Soarin to her.

"That might..."

Then Soarin lips met Dash's. At first Rainbow was surprised, but then melted in it.

"I love ya, Dashie." said Soarin quietly when they finished kissing.

"Love...ya...too." replied Rainbow Dash, who still wasn't got used to it.

Then they got something to eat, played board games and then went to bed. As they were both very sleepy, they both fell asleep almost instantly. And there we're leaving them. Calmly laying on the bed, enjoying each other company
