A soft and quite voice spoke into the dark of the night as the wind blew through the trees. The voice sounded like it was on the brink of tears. “A-angel…I’m so very sorry…I-I…” A yellow pegasus spoke to her bunny as she dug in the cold under the moonlight. A white box with a bunny on the top lay next to the still digging pegasus. The mare’s long flowing pink mane was a bit messy with a few leaves and twigs as she had ran quickly through the woods. She had bags under her eyes as she hadn’t slept in the past three days because of what she had done. She would never forgive herself for what she had done. After a lot of digging she gently put the box inside the small hole which was no larger than a pony. “I-it’s going to be alright…please…please forgive me…please.” Her voice was shaky as she was close to tears. It hadn’t been the first time she had cried after the accident and it wasn’t going to be the last.

A sound that could only be recognized as a snap of a twig was heard close, nearby the sad pony. Her ears perked up as she lifted her head as she heard a voice. “Fluttershy, Is that you dear?” A bright blue light was coming closely towards the yellow pony. Rarity must have heard the noise of the racket she had made. She always blamed her loud mouth for attracting unwanted attention.

Fluttershy quickly grabbed the spade and hid behind a tree, leaving a white unicorn looking inside a box filled hole. “Please don’t come any closer…please, please, please.” She whispered to herself as she clutched the spade to her chest. She looked around the tree only to find a bright blue light in her face. She immediately swung her spade at the light as she was blinded, trying to protect herself in fear and instinct. The light went out with a spark as the pegasus opened one eye to see what she had hit. Then both her eyes flung open as she quickly began to cry. What lay in front of the yellow pegasus was a white corpse of a used to be unicorn. Rarity’s horn wasn’t broken, but it did impale her brain as the pony’s half of the pony’s horn was forced inside her head. A large crack ran down the horn as blood rolled out of the top of her head and onto the cold dirt ground. Fluttershy cried and cried into her best friend’s lifeless body. Hoping that somehow her tears would heal her.

After what seemed like forever were only hours as a dark orange light started to bounce of the trees. The Everfree forest was the perfect place to hide a small rabbit, and maybe something bigger Fluttershy thought as she finished burying both her friends. After an hour of crying on her friends graves, she had thought of a way to explain to Pinkie how it was an accident, how Rarity had scared her, or to Twilight and how she had accidentally fell on Angel when she was trying to clean the gutters of her cottage when lightning had struck near her house mixing with the rain and her wings had clamped to her sides. How she flailed about and landed on her side, hearing snaps of bone and felt something soft yet hard under her. How she got up and found the corpse of her bunny with a sign that read: ‘Come inside’. Fluttershy had also imagined how disgusted her friend’s faces would look; she imagined where they would take a murderer. She almost thought she deserved where ever they would take her, as long as she wouldn’t hurt anypony else, almost.

The yellow pegasus cleaned up the crime scene carefully and planted a small acorn on the grave she had dug for her friends. She had cleaned up these kinds of messes before, seeing as other animals were not as friendly as others in certain situations. She had also given the animals a proper burial, unlike her friends. After Fluttershy had finished cleaning and making the place look as normal as she could make it, she headed home.

When she got to her little cottage there was a note on her door. The yellow mare looked at the note, carefully reading it over:

Dear Fluttershy,
The girls and I are a bit worried for you dear,
We haven’t seen you in three days!!!
We are going to organized a little spa-date
And we would be delighted if you came too.
Oh, and please remember to pick me up
Some roses from your garden, I think I’ve
Finally met some colt worth my time!

With love,

Rarity.

Fluttershy took the note and quickly ran inside the cottage, slamming the door on her way in. Her cottage was the exact same when she left last night, a mess. There were tissues everywhere as well as some nuts or bird feed laying around. All she did in the past three days was cry and help out her woodland creatures, taking extra care of them, she didn’t want to lose another friend by her own hoof but she also didn’t want them to starve. She had put the food in small bowls for her friends, but when they didn’t come she started to get nervous. When Fluttershy trotted across her room she had stepped on a toy mouse that was for Opalescence. Her first reaction was to fly away quickly; her head got stuck inside a bird house as she tried to escape her invisible enemy. She ran across the room with a high pitched scream before she hit her grandfather clock. The birdhouse broke as the clock began to fall. The hurt pegasus put her head on the ground and her forelegs over her head in pain as she clenched her teeth together. The grandfather clock hit the floor with such force both the bowls and the pegasus were thrown into the air. Some bowls landed upside down, others face up, all of which contents were spread across the floor. Fluttershy landed on her tail and decided she was just going to sleep the rest of the day, putting anything that isn’t destroyed or damaged in her house out of any more harm.

She ran upstairs and began to cry. She cried into her pillow as she remembered all the times she spent with Rarity. When she was with Rarity she would always ask about fashion and gossip. Fluttershy had said little in fashion and had not partaken in the gossip, but always heard interesting stories from Rarity. Some made her giggle; others changed her mind a little bit about a couple of ponies in Ponyville. She remembered when they had both gone to the spa last week. She had said that Rainbow was going on a pranking spree with Pinkie Pie again and that she was ready for her. The next time Rainbow or that silly pink mare dare pull a prank on Rarity she would be ready. After she would agree that she would wear some of the cloths Rarity

Those memories quickly turned into nightmares as Fluttershy gasped. She sat up in her bed instantly. Fluttershy had hoped it was all a horrible nightmare, but she knew better. Three loud thumps on the front door were what had woken her in the first place. The sun shined bright in her room telling her she must have slept in. She had little time to take the twigs and leafs out of her mane and tail and smoothed her fur before heading down the stairs. She wiped the tears off her eyes and opened the door. “Eeep!” She squeaked and lowered her head and backed up slowly.

“Miss Fluttershy.” A huge and deep toned guard said as he looked at a piece of paper. His equally as tall partner looked around Fluttershy’s house. “It says here that you have gone missing for several days and that one of your friends had come here to speak to you, or to at least leave a message. I can see that she either must never have made it here or she is somewhere around your cottage.” He spoke with an emotionless voice as his partner trotted back by his side.

Fluttershy shook her head lightly at the last part of his statement as she tried her best not to look at the guards. She thought for sure they were going to take her away and bring her upon the princess. She was relieved to know that that wasn’t why they were here, but they still scared her.

“It is good to know that you are okay Miss Fluttershy, though it is unlucky that your friend has gone missing. We will inform your friends.” The stallion in golden armor said as both guards began to trot away.

Fluttershy slowly closed the wooden door and locked it. She had planned on staying in her house for a while…maybe even forever. That plan soon came to an end when somepony else started to knock on her door. “Eep!” She jumped away from the door but quickly recovered from the scare. She calmly opened the door but before she could even see the pony the door slammed open. Fluttershy was then lifted in the air as all she could see was a bright rainbow. She squeaked as an invisible force squeezed her.

“Fluttershy!” Rainbow Dash said with such joy they prisoner of a hug just had to smile. The blue pegasus put Fluttershy back on her four hooves and looked around. “Wow, this place is a mess.” She looked back at her friend. “Kinda like my place.” She smiled as Fluttershy turned her head a little and giggled into her hoof. “So, ‘Shy, where have you been or the past four days?” Rainbow said as she made herself at home, sitting on the couch and lifting her hind legs on the table.

“Hello Rainbow.” Fluttershy said as she closed her door and straightened up a bit. “Where are the rest of the girls?” She was a little nervous about her best friend being so close to such a monster.

Rainbow sat up and scratched the back of her head. The daring mare was nervous being around her friend and Fluttershy could tell, but she didn’t say a word. “Uh…they are…currently…helping AJ with the apple trees!” She said as she sat back into her comfy seating position.

Fluttershy faked a smile and spoke with Rainbow, but what she really wanted to do was run. Run far away from her friends as possible, all she wanted was to keep them safe. That’s all she ever wanted, to know her friends would be okay. After Dash had left Fluttershy had decided to clean up her mess from two days ago. The wood from the bird house was easy to clean, though the bird feed was harder to get to as they were all so small and scattered everywhere. After a couple hours of cleaning she was satisfied with her work.

Fluttershy decided she deserved a nice treat and knew the exact place where she could get a treat, or maybe a few. She opened the door and grabbed a few carrots. “Angel bunny, we-“She cringed on spot. A couple tears fell from her eyes; she was getting better at not crying as she had a lot of practice in the last week. Fluttershy stood in place for a moment, copping with her murdered bunny. After an hour of silently crying on her couch, she wiped her stinging eyes of her tears and cleaned the tissue off the little table in front of the couch. The yellow pegsus collected some bits and headed out the door without a second thought.

As the pony trotted on the dirt path she saw a small dot up a head getting bigger as she walked. She lowered her head and quickened her pace so she wouldn’t bother the other pony. She then heard a high pitched voice with a voice crack now and then. She knew who it was and instantly felt worse; she hadn’t even thought about her the entire time, not once had she crossed her mind. “Fluttershy!” Sweetie Belle said in an alarmed voice. “Have you seen Rarity? She’s late for the ‘Bring-your-sister-to-school-day’!”

Fluttershy shook her head, lying to the innocent little filly. “I-I haven’t seen her” She lied quickly as she bit her tongue, not hard but, enough to make her wince.

“Dang it…” Sweetie belle said in disappointment as she let her had droop towards the ground and walked away.

Fluttershy felt horrible, she was about to make her way back home when the young unicorn leaped up into the air. “Huh?”

Sweetie Belle’s face was happy as she ran in front of the yellow mare. “Oh! Oh! Oh! I have an idea!” She said as she wrapped a bright green scarf around her neck. At first Fluttershy flinched and thought she was about to start choking her to death. “How about you be my sister!” She said rather loudly and with such joy and energy.

“I...I…” The shocked mare should have seen this coming, but she gave her a little smile. “I would be delighted to.” Fluttershy said softly. She had no other choice but to accept, she couldn’t turn down this little filly. It’s the least Fluttershy could do to help her out, trying to slowly ease her way into being the only child. She hoped she wouldn’t have to and that her parents would take care of her from then on.

“Good afternoon class, it seems one of your classmate’s sisters came late. So, it would be my pleasure to introduce Sweetie Belle and Fluttershy!” Mrs.Cheerlie announced in front of the class room. In return were only yawns and a cough from the back, she would have to speak to the class later about manners.

Sweetie Belle happily trotted in as the shy pegasus came in soon after. Sweetie Belle started to talk about what Rarity did and why she was so good at it. That caught the attention of some of the fillies. Although Sweetie spoke about Rarity, she replaced it with her name. “-and that’s why Fluttershy is the best sister!” She exclaimed as some of the fillies clapped their hooves together and some stomped on the ground.

“Well spoken, Sweetie Belle.” The teacher said as she motioned for her to take her seat. Fluttershy had not spoken a word, and was restraining herself from opening her mouth. She quickly left the school house.

She felt like a monster. She had murdered her best friend and then replaced her! What kind of friend does that?! Certainly not the good kind Fluttershy thought to herself. She slowed her pace as she kept thinking horrible thoughts about herself. How everypony would and will hate her. A crime hasn’t been committed in Ponyville in so long she didn’t even know what they would do to her, but she did know that it wouldn’t be good.

Fluttershy thought about the horrible things they would do to her. She was nearly about to start weeping again before she heard a happy voice call out her name. “Hey!” Pinkie basically yelled with a delighted face. “Fluttershy!” the yellow pegasus heard her name but continued walking, she didn’t want to be rude and ignore her best friend, she just didn’t want Pinkie to find out. Out of all the ponies in Ponyville, Pinkie would be the first to know. The pink pony started to trot next to Fluttershy and asked with a bit of a worried tone. “A-are you okay?”

The yellow pegasus looked at the pink pony with eyes brimming with tears. She burst in tears and hugged Pinkie. “I-I’m S-so S-s-sorry!!” She could barely speak. She didn’t know why she broke into tears; she didn’t do this with Rainbow. “P-please f-forgive me…” All she wanted was to be forgiven, to know her friends didn’t hate her. She continued to cry into the pink pony’s shoulder, feeling like crying was much more appropriate at this time. The colts and mares around them looked strangely at the two mares, now both of them were crying in the middle of the street.

As they both slowly stopped crying as much Pinkie wiped a tear from her friend’s eye as her own face was just as tearful. “I…forgive you…” She said weakly as her own crying took a lot out of her. “I-I guess…Angel bunny really is an Angel now.” She gave a weak smile.

Fluttershy looked at Pinkie in a shocked manner. Her eyes wide, her mouth open. She took a step back, her eyes still full of tears. “H-how did…P-pinkie…?” She watched as Pinkie covered her mouth.

“R-Rainbow hadn’t t-told you?” The pink earth pony took a step forward as the shy pegasus shook her head. She was going to regret what she was about to say and she knew it. She didn’t want to hurt her anymore. They had all agreed that Rainbow would be the one to tell her. “Umm…let m-me just say that s-she didn’t know…if th-that makes you feel any better after this…Rainbow…k-kinda…was the uh…lighting that…made you fall…”

Fluttershy felt a wave of emotions. Rainbow Dash was the reason. The reason for all that’s happened. The heart broken mare couldn’t describe her emotion, even if she had been able think. She shook her head, tears falling off her face. She didn’t know what she should do, but she did know she had to do something.
