Fluttershy loves Thunderlane, she always has. Although she knows he betrayed her in the past, she can never stop loving him.

"I.. I love him. I... never wanted to let go so suddenly..." She thought to herself, and held the crumpled photograph in her hooves. Tears slowly began to stream down her face, and the corners of her mouth started to quiver. She took a shaky breath, and looked at the picture with hopeless blue pools. "Why couldn't he have stayed faithful... What does Flitter have that I don't?.." Tears began to pour much more frequently down her face and they landed onto the photo. The little blue droplets landed on his happy, mocking face. The day he betrayed her. She hung her head and cried for her unforgivable love.

Fluttershy opened the door to her cottage. She took a step inside and her floorboards creaked slightly under her weight. She kicked the door shut with her hind leg and sighed as she did so. She then trotted inside and glanced at the contents of the quaint little cottage. Birdcages would hang off the ceiling, glistening in the small beams of sunlight that made its way into the cottage. Tiny multi-colored birds were sleeping quietly inside, with the occasional flutter of their wings. Opalescence was sleeping in front of the open fire, the flames would dance as they would radiate heat onto the feline. from time to time, Opal would let out an odd purr and would unconsciously knead her paws onto the crimson carpet that lay beneath her, giving off soft tearing sounds. Fluttershy smiled sweetly at her tranquil home. She took a few seconds to watch the scene before her, before she turned away and headed to her kitchen.

Her kitchen was relatively small, and had the occasional few pots and pans laying around, otherwise it was reasonably tidy. She proceeded to flip the grayed switch to boil the water inside the kettle, while reaching for her tea leaves and her tea strainer. She filled the china cup with hot water, of which was decorated with a painting of three butterflies, ones that resembled the markings on her flank. She then set the strainer inside the cup, leaving the wooden handle sticking out. The yellow mare opened her bag of tea leaves, used a teaspoon and covered her spoon in tea leaves before dumping it into her strainer. Fluttershy sighed and leaned against her kitchen side. She closed her eyes for a brief moment. She took in the serenity, and sighed blissfully...

Bang!

She quickly jumped up in surprise, and in doing so banged her head on the cabinet. She made a face at the pain and rubbed her sore head, before quickly dashing off to see the damage. She went into her living room, and saw her Chester drawers on the floor. Glass vases were shattered, leaving damp and damaged flowers of different variation hanging in all sorts of awkward places. The contents of the drawers were all over the floor. Papers, shattered glass, and even the drawers themselves, littered the floor.

Her eyes scanned over the wreckage and rested on a photo frame that was smashed to pieces. Her eyes went wide in shock and her pupils dilated slightly. With no hesitation, She ran over to the photo frame and scooped up the remains of the photograph in her hooves, getting scratched by the glass in the process. She turned over the creased photo and looked at it. It was damaged by the water from the vase. She slumped down and stared at the motionless photo. In the photo, stood Thunderlane and Fluttershy, embracing each other. That was the day she remembered clearly, the day he betrayed her.

The sky was filled of many different hues, consisting of purple, orange, yellow and pink. Fluttershy and Thunderlane layed together on top of a small, fluffy cumulus cloud, As Fluttershy glanced up toward the sky, She noticed that the clouds were moving at a very slow pace, as they gradually drifted away from each other. There wasn't very many of them about, though, as there was a storm scheduled.

"...Flutters?" Thunderlane spoke, as he held her close to his body, he tried to hold eye contact with the dazed mare.

"What is it, thunderlane?" She said with a half yawn. Tiredness soon began to sweep over the mare, making her eyes feel slightly heavy. She rested her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes. Fluttershy thought of the wonderful day they had, and the time they spent together. It made her cheeks feel slightly rosy, she thought nothing could ruin this day.

"...There's something I need to talk about." The breath caught in his throat, he tried to make his speech seem as normal as he could, trying to hide his nervousness. Unfortunately, She caught the tone of his normally relaxed voice.

"Is... something wrong?" She questioned, she slowly opened her eyes and sat up, before looking at him with a puzzled look and frowning slightly.

"Well, it's about... us." He hesitated, before scratching the back of his head to try and play it off as casually as he possibly could. Fluttershy didn't respond, she just looked at him, as if asking to elaborate.

"You see... I... I don't think we should be together anymore." He sighed, and glanced at her with soft eyes. "It's just that... I think I love someone else an-" He noticed that Fluttershy was silent and he looked at her contently. Her cerulean pools started shining with tears as they stared down at the floor, she would not hold his gaze. She took a shaky breath and started trembling with emotion.

"I...Is it my fault?... Did... I do something wrong?" She asked, voice still shaking. Her voice was very small at this point, her body shook more with each word and tears began to pour down her face. She quickly began to wipe them away, but they came down faster than she could wipe them.

"No, I..It's not your fault.. Its just that-" He was cut off by the sound of hooves coming toward them. He turned around, only to be greeted with his second love.

"Hey babe... did you talk to the whining-" She stopped as her eyes darted over to the aureolin mare. The mare she saw was a mess. She was sobbing profusely and held her head in her hooves. Her love.. How could he do this to her? Wait.. is somepony there? She turned around to be greeted with her best friend at the time, Flitter.

"F...Flitter?" She sobbed. Why was she here? Could she be.. No, that wasn't right! Surely... Shes not the mare..

"I'm guessing he's told you already... but we've been seeing each other for quite some time, and he's chose me over you." She laughed bitterly, mockingly. She happily trotted over to Thunderlane and kissed him in front of her best friend, before soon tearing apart with a soft pop. Before Flitter finally spoke up, "Why don't you get lost, you yellow bitch, isn't it obvious your not wanted here?" She laughed again,, and nuzzled his dark coat.

How... How could this be? My best friend... And the love of my life? N..No, this cant be happening! It cant be.. It cant.. The tears blinded Fluttershy. She felt so crushed. So Betrayed... By her own best friend. So many thoughts raced through her head, how could all of this have happened so suddenly? Why?.. She quickly wiped some of her tears before she jumped to her hooves, spread her wings and flew away. She couldn't bear it, it hurt her so much... She could hear Flitter laughing harshly. Why?..
