As Flash Sentry brings his marefriend Twilight Sparkle to his parents, his life is explained and recaped.
Flash Sentry is about to introduce his parents to his marefriend Twilight Sparkle and her dragon Spike. On the way, he recaps to how he got to where he is today.Even before he was a royal guard, Flash had to fight in all sorts of battles From schoolyard bullies, protecting his best friend Agua ,to battling heartbreak after heartbreak , Flash has had a life that was anything but ordinary.

Well today was the day. There was no going back. This was life or death. Do or Die. If one thing goes wrong, everything will go downhill. The most frightful thing Flash had to do in his entire life: Bringing his marefriend (and her dragon) to meet his parents.
The trio were at the train station where they would go to the Sentrys house in Chicacolt for the Sentrys biannual dinner. Twice a year, Flash would go home to his family where both he and his sister Flare would stay for a week so that the family can catch up on each other.
"I can't wait to meet your family Flash." Twilight said as they arrived at the station
"Oh I'm sure you'll love them." Flash said nervously
"And I can't wait to see Chicacolt. Do you think we'll have enough time to see all the sights Twilight?" Spike asked "I want to see the legendary Saddle Tower and get my claws into some good deep dish pizza."
"I'll make sure we get everything Spike. Already on my checklist." Twilight responded
"Yeah that should be great." Flash chuckled nervously
"What's wrong Flash? Twilight asked "You always seem to be happy to see your family when you go."
"I know I know," The orange pegasus said "But this is different. This is the first time my parents are going to meet you and Spike. What if they don't like you?"
"I'm sure it'll go fine." The alicorn responded by kissing her coltfriend on the cheek and wrapping her wing around him. "After all, you're dating a princess and the Element of Magic. What's not to like?" Twilight giggled
Suddenly the train finally came with a halt and the conductor called: "All Abroad for Chicacolt! All Abroad!"
"That's our train.We should get going. Come on Spike." Twilight called as the trio came on the train
As Flash got to his seat by the window and the train started to move, with the station fading away, he started to ponder. "How did I get here?" he thought " I don't deserve her. (looking over to Twilight who was reading her book) Feels like yesterday, we were packing up and I was afraid on moving to that big city Chicacolt from Ponyville. Fourteen years later, here I am a royal guard and about to show my royal marefriend to Mom,Dad, Flare, and Agua.How did this happen?"
Well for that, that started one spring night at Ponyville hospital.
"You're doing great Mrs. Sentry. Just a few more pushes." Dr Stethoscope said
"I don't think I can take it any more doctor!" the mare in pain said in between breathing breaks "Put me out of my misery!"
Dr Stethoscope was a grey unicorn with a white mane cut into a business cut, green eyes, and a stethoscope for a cutie mark. He was wearing a white lab coat, with a white mask covering his mouth and nose. He was overseeing the labor of Fiona Sentry an orange pegasus with a red mane, dark blue eyes, and bouquet of flowers for a cutie mark. Her husband Fuego (Spanish word for fire) a red pegasus with a dark blue mane, green eyes, and a pitch on yellow and orange fire for a cutie mark was holding her hoof tightly as he watched in agony his wife gave birth to their son.
"Come on you can do it Fifi." Fuego said "You've made it this far. Just a little more. He's coming."
"Easy for you to say. You're not squeezing out a watermelon from your private parts!" Fiona shouted "Oh somepony please make this stop!"
"Ok I see the head. He's almost there. Keep it coming." Dr Stethoscope encouraged
Suddenly, Fiona let out a high pitch a scream so loud the entire hospital heard which was immediately drowned out by the high cries of a colt as he came out of Fiona.
"Here he is. Your little guy." Dr Stethoscope announced handing the colt over to his mother. "Now was that so bad?"
"Oh my gosh. He's perfect. Don't you think so dear." The new mother asked Fuego then cutted the umbilical cord using his mouth.
"He sure is Fifi. He sure is." Fuego answered looking at his son. The newborn colt had an orange coat and dark blue eyes like his mother which matched his dark blue mane from his father. The new parents smiled as their son was taken to be cleaned up and checked out by the nurses.
"Look I'm sorry about what happened back there." Fiona said "I shouldn't have shouted at you."
"That's ok Fifi." Fuego responded "I remember my mother being like that when she was in labor with my brother. What matters now is that you and the baby are ok." Fuego then kissed his wife on the lips
"You know Mrs. Sentry, you didn't have that long of a labor." Dr Stethoscope said taking off his mask "You came here only an hour ago and started pushing 15 minutes ago."
"Really? Wow. I guess the little guy wanted to come in a flash." Fuego joked
"That's it. That's what we'll name him." Fiona said
"What will we called him dear?" Fuego asked
"Flash. Flash Warden Sentry."
"Flash? I like it ." Fuego said as the nurse handed the colt back to his mother now wrapped in a blue blanket ,sucking on a pacifier and his eyes were closed.
"Come here little guy." Fiona said as she held him close Then the couple said in unison:
A few months later, Fuego and Fiona had settled into their new lives as parents. Flash had become a very curious colt, always exploring around the house and outside when Fiona would take him to go out to do some errands. He had tried to fly out to explore more but Fiona had a firm grip so he couldn't escape. But one day made the little guy very curious. So curious that well, let me explain. One day, Fiona was going to Cloudsdale for the weekend to see family. Fuego would be left with Flash on his own for the first time.
"You sure you can handle Flash on your own Sweetheart?" Fiona asked
"Don't worry I'll be fine." Fuego reassured his wife "Remember I use to be left with my siblings all the time."
"Hmm. Good point." Fiona said as she putted on her jacket "Ok. I'll only be gone til Monday. I'll be available to call on my cellular but not after midnight. And don't forget..."
"His feeding schedule, napping schedule, and to make sure he doesn't escape his stroller. I know what to do. Just relax." Fuego said "Please go. Go and visit your family and I promise everything will be in order when you get back." As he pushed his wife out the door.
"Oh but please let me say goodbye to Flash before I go." Fiona said
"He's sleeping dear. And you've already said goodbye to him 30 times." Fuego responded " Have a good time and we'll see you on Monday. I love you Fifi." Fuego kissed his wife
"I love you too dear. But may I.." Fiona was cut off as he closed the door. Fiona sighed and said to herself: "Well I guess I'll be going. I'm sure Fuego'll have it under control. Then she got on her waiting taxi and left for the train station.
"Well that takes care of that. Now to spend some quality time with my son." Fuego said relieved
At that moment, Flash started to cry from his crib. "And that starts now. Coming Flash."
Fuego entered Flash's room and picked up his son, which got Flash to stop crying. "Well Flash, it looks like it's just you and me." Fuego said digging his head into Flash's mane "Time for some guy time." Suddenly, a horrible smell came from Flash's nappy. Fuego plugged his nose with his free hoof.
"Glad you're getting into the spirit.
A few hours later. Fuego was watching a hoofball game while Flash was playing in his playpen. He looked up to see the hoofball game and cooed which grabbed Fuego's attention.
"Oh you want to watch some sports huh little guy?" Fuego asked as he picked up Flash and putted him on his lap. "Well this sport is called Hoofball. In Hoofball, there are two teams consisting of 53 players. There's the quarterback, the linebacker, center, left and right tackle, running back, fullback, wide receiver, tight end, left and right guard, defensive tackle, defensive end, safety, and cornerback. Did you get all that son?"
Flash just looked at his father with a confused face. This made Fuego chuckled.
"You'll understand when you're older."
Then the phone rang.
"Hello?" Fuego asked when he picked it up. "Oh hey Charlie. Yeah I'm watching Hoofball. San Franciscolt Forty Neighers vs. Detrot Lions? Yeah that's the game. I know can you believe how bad they're doing? " Then the quarterback for the Lions missed a touchdown pass. "Oh come on! Smooth move ButterHooves. Did you see that Charlie?"
While Fuego was talking to Charlie on the phone and watching the game, he didn't know that the door was open and Flash was noticing what his dad failed to notice.
"Hmm that's weird. The door's open." Flash thought "Let's go outside."
And so Flash crawled to the door which once again, Fuego failed to notice.
Once Flash was out, his blue eyes got big with wonder. The sky was a clear blue. The sun was shining in a bright yellow.
"Wow!" Flash said in his baby talk continuing to crawl around. "This is what I've missed for 11 months? Why does Mom always have to have a grip with me? Doesn't she know I'm missing this? Hmm I wonder.." Flash then started to flap his wings which successfully got him off the ground.
"Whee! This is fun." Flash said flying through the sky "I can get use to this."
"We'll be right back after this." The sports announcer on the TV said as the program faded to commercial
"Damn commercial. Well Charlie I got to go. I'll see you back at the station." Fuego said hanging up
Fuego had been talking to Charlie about the game for an hour now. He was so wrapped up with talking and the game, that he had failed to notice his son's absence.
"Well this game is getting very interesting huh Flash?" Fuego asked Flash But when he turned to ask him, He wasn't there!
"Flash?" Fuego was now frantic "Flash where did you go?!" Fuego searched all over the living room trying to find his son with no success.
"Oh Sweet Celestia please come out Flash! Your mother's going to kill me if I don't find you. Where are you?"
Suddenly, Fuego noticed the door was opened and when he got outside, his fears were confirmed. He saw Flash zipping through the sky with great ease.
"Flash Warden Sentry get down from there right now! Your mother's going to kill me if you get hurt." Fuego shouted But Flash kept on flying not hearing his father.
"Oh great what am I going to do?" Fuego pondered "Wait, I got it." Fuego then ran inside calling Charlie again
"Charlie? It's Fuego and we got an emergency." Fuego then explained the situation "Meet me at the house and please hurry."
"Wow he's doing loop de loops. I can't even do that. Are you sure he's only 3 months old?" Charlie asked
"Please Charlie focus!" Fuego shouted "We have to get Flash before he gets hurt."
"Oh sorry. So are we going to get him down?" Charlie asked
"Well that I do not know." Fuego confessed then he had an idea "Wait I got it."
An hour later, Flash was sleeping on a tree branch. "Ok Char, you go on this side." Fuego directed pointing to the left side of the tree. "I'll go on the right." He said pointing to the right. "Then after a few seconds, we fly really fast and either one of us will grab Flash. Ready?"
The dark blue stallion with with dark blue hair with green in the front nodded
So the two stallions started to fly towards the sleeping colt slowly but surely. Unfortunately Flash woke up just as the two started to fly, so he flew upward so when the two stallions began to sped up so they both ended up bumping their heads to each other.
After regaining conscious, Fuego became really angry, his ears spited out smoke and his pupils became redder than his coat. "Ok that's it no more Mr. Nice Colt! I'm coming for your baby!"
Fuego started flying really fast to catch the trouble making colt. Charlie reluctantly follow him. But Charlie started to notice a large crowd was forming at the Town Square.
"Um Fuego?" Charlie said trying to get Fuego's attention when the two stopped
"Not now Charlie."
"But Fuego..."
"Not now Charlie. We have to find Flash."
"But Fuego"
"WHAT IS IT CHARLIE?! WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW BESIDES CATCHING FLASH BEFORE HE GETS HURT?!"
Charlie replied by pointing to the large crowd of ponies who were gathered around and looking up the two stallions.
"Oh that is important." Fuego said sheepishly then chuckled nervously
Suddenly, the two heard a coo and turned around to see Flash on top of SugarCube Corner.
"Oh Crap" The two said in unison
So for the next hour,Fuego and Charlie sneaked up on Flash hoping to catch them. But Flash was always one step ahead, going from one side of the roof to another. Finally the two just gave up.
"Ok Flash you win." Fuego said defeated raising a white flag "You're better than your old man. I guess I can't take care of you on my own."
Seeing his father like this made Flash very sad.
" Wow I didn't think my flying would make Daddy sad." Flash thought "I thought he would be happy to this. I better give in this time." So Flash flew into his father's hooves.
"Huh?" Fuego was confused then saw his son in his hooves and grew a smile as wide as the land. "Flash! Oh thank Celestia you've come to your senses!"
"I knew your son was smarter than he looks." Charlie commented
Yes and there's no way I'm letting this little guy out of my sights for quite some time Now let's go home." Fuego said as the trio headed back home
Fuego kept his word. He had Flash with him wherever he went. Flash became stuck to his dad with glue. Finally on Monday, Fiona returned from her visit to her surprise the entire house was clean and her husband and son were on the coach watching TV.
"Oh hi Fiona." Fuego said when he noticed his wife and turned off the TV "Welcome home. How was the trip?"
"Fine. Nice to see Mom and Dad. I got to see The Doos who have apparently moved back to Cloudsdale now that their daughters Amethyst and Derpy are grown up. They asked about Flash and they can't wait to see him when we go for Hearth's Warming Eve." Fiona replied as she took off her coat and saddle bag while looking around the house.
"By the way, mom made for Flash." Fiona reached into her saddle bag and took out a light blue and gold colored crocheted blanket. Flash started to gurggle at the sight of the blanket and reached out to touch it. Fiona took her son from Fuego and wrapped him in his new blanket. Immediately, the little orange pegasus closed her eyes and went to sleep.
"I guess he likes it. Never thought a colt would love crochet so much." Fuego chuckled
"Well I'm just glad to be home and with my two wonderful boys." Fiona said "By the way, did anything happened while I was gone?"
"No! Nothing,absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened while you were gone!" Fuego replied frantically
"Ok then. I'm just going to put Flash down in his crib and then I'll tell you more about my trip." Fiona said
But when Fiona left Flash's room, she came across the paper from yesterday which headlines read:
"TWO STALLIONS AND A BABY: TWO GROWN STALLIONS CHASED WELL STILLED FLYING BABY ALL OVER TOWN" which had a picture of Fuego and Charlie flying after Flash.Then she recognized who the ponies in the photo were.
"FUEGO!"
But when she turned around, Fuego was already out.
