> Fused and Confused > by SirHavoc > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apple Bloom's head hurt. A lot. More than all of her accidents in crusading combined. A high-pitched ringing in her ears weren't helping that. Through her pain, Apple Bloom could hear a faint voice. "Oh no, this isn't good" it said. As the ringing in Apple Blooms ears died down, she could hear the voice again. "This is very very bad!" it said. Twilight. Definitely Twilight. "Twilight, what happened?!" sid another voice. Spike. "I don't know, I just casting a spell and-" A spell? Apple bloom couldn't remember anything about a spell. All she could remember that recently happened was her and the crusaders going to Twilight's to get help on getting their "Underwater accordion playing" cutie marks. Thinking back on it, what kind of talent is playing an accordion underwater anyway? "What kind of, spell Twilight?" "Well..." A mere few moments ago... "Okay, this spell should be working this time." Twilight said to herself. She stood in her magic lab; her room in the castle where she could learn all types of new spells. On the floor in front of her laid an apple and an orange. If Twilight were to get this spell right, she would have created and Applge! An Orangple? Whatever it's called, Twilight would have made it. Meanwhile, the crusaders ran into Twilight's castle in search of Twilight. Instead, they had found her little dragon assistant. "Hey Spike" called Sweetie Belle. "Do you know where Twilight is?" "She just off in her magic lab. Why do you need her?" Spike asked. "We need her help to finally get our cutie marks!" Apple Bloom excitedly answered. "Apple Bloom, Twilight already tried using magic to get you your cutie marks. I don't think it's going to work this time." "Not for that, silly. We need her to cast a spell that would let us breath underwater" Sweetie said. 'Why do you need that?" "So we don't drown. Duh!" said Scootaloo. "Okay... her magic lab should be the third door on your right down that hallway." "Okay, thanks Spike." the crusaders cheered as they ran to the magic lab. Twilight's horn glowed a dim light, growing brighter as her spell charged up. The apple and orange would have been shaking in fear, if, you know, they could. Now her horn was glowing quite brightly, and Twilight release the fusion spell. Unfortunately, 3 fillies happened to barge in at that exact moment... Now... "So what happens when they wake up?" Spike said. "I don't know, what will we tell them?" Twilight said. "Ugh..." Apple Bloom managed to spit out. "What happened?" "Argh my head hurts..." said another voice. This time it was Sweetie Belle's, except it sounded as though her voice was coming from Apple Bloom's mouth. "Well, uh, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom. Uh..." "Twilight, what happened?" Apple bloom asked. She opened her eyes. Despite the seemingly blinding lights, she saw Twilight standing in front of her, a worried expression on her face. Apple Bloom tried standing up, but it felt almost as if her mind wasn't communicating with her body. "Uh.." Twilight struggled to... speak.. words. "Maybe it would be better if i just showed you." She turned, and her horn was enveloped with her familiar purple magic. She levitating a mirror over to Apple Bloom, and face it to turn towards her. Apple bloom saw herself, or what she hoped wasn't herself. Her fur was an odd shade of brown, a mixing between her and her friend's fur colors. Her manestyle, was also a mismatch between their manestyles. A unicorn horn protruded from her head, and though it was a bit hard to see from this angle, a pair of wings laid flat on her torso. Apple Bloom's mouth gasped, in Sweetie Belle's voice. "Uh oh" said Scootaloo, also from Apple Blooms mouth, if Apple bloom could even call it hers anymore. Apple Bloom tried standing up again, this time succeeding, yet feeling unbalanced. Then, with Apple Bloom not doing anything, her their (as it was coming clear to Apple Bloom) front hooves lurched forward, sending the fillies face down into the ground. Apple Bloom could hear Spike suppressing a laugh in front of them. "This can't be good" said Scootaloo. "Ya don't say!" Apple Bloom replied. "I was just saying a statement, Apple Bloom! You don't have to sarcastically yell at me!" "Girls!" shouted Sweetie Belle. "We should fight! We have to work together." "Ugh.. Twilight, could you separate us?" "Uh, well... I'm not sure" Twilight somberly said. "I'll have to make a new spell-" "Well how long will that take?" "A few weeks... maybe a month." Twilight answered, murmuring the last. "Great, now I have to be stuck with this annoying little pony." "Hey!" "Not you Sweetie Belle. The other little pony." "Scootaloo, ya should really stop talking to yourself." "Apple Bloom!!" At this point, Spike was bursting with laughter. "Girls! we can't start fighting!" "sigh, Sweetie's right we need to work together on this." "Yeah!" "Okay, let's go!" Once again, their front hooves launched forward at the same time, making Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. all fall on their face. Spike was practically dying of laughter at this display. his laughter quickly died down when Twilight gave him her don't-anger-a-princess look. The fused fillies all let out a quiet sigh of frustration. They had a lot to get down.
