> In League with the Legends > by MLPfan438 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Awakening > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Equestria, Present Day) That’s 574,875 times that the sun has risen. That was the first thought that went through my mind. The second thought to go through my head wasn’t my own. Well good morning, sleeping beauty, the voice said in a sarcastic tone, starting your monologue already. Morning to you too Discord, I replied with equal derision. Well somepony sure is grumpy today, he replied with a hint of a chuckle on his voice. Having to stare at your ugly mug for 1575 years will do that to a girl, I said, only to find myself laughing when he replied, fine, be that way. He gave me a funny look, or at least I think he would have if we weren’t both statues. What’s got you in such a good mood? he asked. You’ll see in about an hour or so, I replied with a hit of mystery in my voice. Okay, now you have my attention, he said in a puzzled tone, what is it that you know that I don’t? The train just pulled into the station, I said in a matter of fact tone, I heard the whistle. It’s around 10:00 o’clock in the morning judging by the position of the sun in the sky, I continued. Plus I heard the guards say that a class was coming here from Ponyville for a school trip today, I concluded. I already know all of that, he replied, and I know it isn’t just about the little ones. So I’ll ask again, he said in a serious tone, what don’t I know? Three of them are our key to escape, I said with excitement in my voice, and the names of those wonderful little fillies are Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. Okay you lost me, he said with a confused tone, how are three little fillies supposed to break the seal cast on us by the elements of harmony? When they get here, I said, those three are going to get into an argument. That argument will escalate into a fight, and the disharmony created from that fight will give you the power you need to break free of the spell. How could you possibly know any of that? he asked me, and don’t give me any of that magic crap, I know you don’t have the ability to see the future. In a manner of speaking I do, I said in a neutral tone. Stop speaking so damn cryptic, he said impatiently, and just tell me how you know that. Seriously Discord, you already forgot my back-story, I answered with a hit of annoyance in my voice, I told you all of this three times in the past 1000 years. Fine, I’ll tell you the story again. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Earth, 1575 year ago) “I can’t believe I let you talk me into this Samantha,” I said to my best friend as we walked into the convention. We had known each other since high school, where we were on in the video gaming club together. We bonded over the game League of Legends, together with our other friends Will, James, and DJ. We were a next to unstoppable team with DJ in top lane, Samantha in the jungle, Me in middle lane, Will in bottom lane as the attack damage carry or ADC for short, and James in the bottom lane as the support. “I didn’t hear you complaining when I told you about the plan,” she said with a smirk. “That’s because I thought the guys would be coming with us,” I said with a frown, “This Syndra costume doesn’t leave much to the imagination.” “I’m dressed as Akali and you don‘t hear me complaining,” she quipped. “That’s because you like dressing like a slut,” I retorted. “Ouch,” I said as she punched me in the arm. “Lets just start looking around,” she said while glancing around the massive hall. “How about we start at the vendor stalls over by the food court,” I said. No sooner then the words had left my mouth did I relies that I had made my first mistake. Sitting over in the food court, at one of the back tables, was a group of just guys in League of Legends costumes. Their costumes were really good, and their was no way Samantha wasn’t going to see them. As if on cue, she said, “You can go look at the merchandise, I’m going to the food court to check out those guys.” “Of course you are,” I said sarcastically. “Just try and stay out of trouble, and if you do manage to pick one of them up,” I paused as a strange necklace at one of the booths catching my eye, “text me or something.” “Okay Melira, I’ll catch up with you later,” she said before turning and making her way over to the food court. “See you Sam,” I yelled, before turning and walking over to the booth with the strange necklace on it. As I got closer to the table I could make out the necklace a little better. It was a pendent in the shape of a hourglass. It was about 3 inches tall and about 1 inch in diameter. What really threw me off was that the parts of the hourglass that are usually made of glass seemed to be made up of red gem stones that looked a lot like rubies, the rest was made of gold. “I see that the Ruby Hourglass has caught your eye,” said the salesman. “It’s quite beautiful but sadly it’s probably way out of my price range,” I said without taking my eyes off of it. I couldn’t quite describe the feeling I was getting from it but I swear I could see it glowing faintly, which only made me want it even more. “It’s only $1500 dollars, but I’ll give it to you for $1200 dollars if you pay with cash,” he said with a sly grin that I failed to notice. That would be all the cash I planned on spending at the convention and if I saw anything else I’d be shit out of luck. Then again if I ever get tired of it I could probably find some sap willing to buy it for double that amount. “You’ve got a deal,” I said as I reached into the pouch on my left hip, that I had added to the costume, to grab my money. He looked on in joy as I counted out the amount that he had specified. After I handed him the cash and he counted it to make sure it was all there he handed me the Ruby Hourglass. “Why don’t you try it on?” he asked me. “I have a mirror here that you can use,” he said as he set a small free-standing mirror on the table. “Why not,” I replied. As I slipped the gold chain around my neck and hook the clasp the rubies in the hourglass started to glow. I started to feel a strange energy flow through me. “What the hell!” I shouted as I tried in vain to undo the clasp. “Don’t bother,” he said as he watched me struggle, “Once the Ruby Hourglass finds a home around somebody’s neck, it can never be removed. Oh and don’t bother calling for help, no one here can see or here you anymore.” I looked back in shock as a vortex appeared behind me. As it started to pull me in I heard him say, “goodbye.” Then he started laughing and reach out, pushing me through the portal, and then I blacked out. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Equestria, Present Day) Well, while that explains how you got here and where you got that pendent from, It still doesn’t tell me where your from, how that hourglass works, or how you know that three fillies are going to enable me to break free, nor does it tell me how you plan to escape. First, the name of the planet I’m from is earth, and second, the Ruby Hourglass allows me to transform into different champions from a video game that existed on my home world. Each of the gem stones in it holds a magical charge, three stones equals three charges. Transforming uses one of the items stored charges, meaning once I’m out of charges I can’t transform again until I gain another. The charges refresh on a 24 hour cycle, one charge recovered every 24 hour, meaning it takes three days for the hourglass to completely recharge. As per how I know about the three fillies, it’s a long story that we don’t have time for right now. Their class is walking towards us right now and I still need to tell you my plan of escape. But don’t worry, I’ll explain the whole future knowledge thing another time. Okay, so what is your escape plan?, he asked. My escape plan is simple, once your free your going to use your chaos magic to drive a wedge between the bearers of the elements of harmony. Why? If you break the bonds of friendship that connect them, than you sever their bonds to the elements. When you do that the element will lose their power, just like when Celestia had to banish Luna. When the elements lose their power Celestia’s little magic seal will be the only thing left to keep me stuck like this, and at my power level it will be simple to undo. Why didn’t you just break the seal when she banished Luna? he asked me. I didn’t break the seal back then because I was still recovering from getting hit with the elements. Besides theirs a certain mare that wasn’t born yet, who’s help I’m going to need if I’m ever going to get home. What about me, Discord wined, won’t you need my help too? I’ll need both of you, and possibly Celestia and Luna as well. So be a dear and don’t shatter any of their minds until after I’m on my way home. You have my word, now lets sit back and see this little fight of yours. Right on cue, I said as the three fillies started fighting. I can already feel the power flowing through me, Discord said, I guess you were right after all. As the group walked away, the stone surrounding Discord started to break, and shattered once they were out of ear shot. He walked up to me and said, “time for me to keep my end of the bargain, but after this we’re even.” He gave a quick bow and then he snapped his fingers and he was gone. Perfect, I thought to myself, Now all I have to do is wait for the bonds to break and I can ditch the stone body suit. It didn’t take long to notice the cotton candy clouds and the chocolate milk rain. As soon as it started Princess Celestia showed up it the garden. Upon not seeing Discord she gasped, and ran back inside to send for Twilight and the other element. Soon after they arrived, they got the speech from Celestia and the challenge from Discord. I watched with glee as they went into the maze only to have Discord separate them right from the start. It wasn’t long before Rainbow Dash was flying off and the maze disappeared. I was privileged to see Discord’s victory dance in person. After that he gave Twilight the final clue she needed to solve his riddle. As soon as the remainder of the elements left Canterlot to return to Ponyville, I started to gather up my energy. I only get one shot at this, I thought to myself. Then it happened, the moment I’d waited over 1500 years for, Twilight lost faith in the elements. At that moment I unleashed my built up magical energy, shattering both the seal and the stone holding me. As the full extent of my power started to return to me I started to float about a foot off the ground. “Now all I need to do is find a way out of Canterlot,” I said to myself, “I can’t risk using my teleport spell, it’s far to easy to track. I’ve got it, while Celestia and Luna know about Syndra they’ve never seen Kayle. The last thing they would expect is for me to fly away.” As I activated the Ruby Hourglass to enable the transformation, I heard Luna’s Voice coming from the castle. She was ordering her guards to follow her, and her voice was getting closer. The sky changed from night to day just as I finished my transformation. I spread my wings and took off, using the sun and the clouds as cover to keep the Princess of the night and her guards from spotting me. As I flew off towards the Everfree Forest, I heard her shout “She’s escaped from Tia’s spell, rally the guard, we must warn Celestia at once.” “What’s the matter Princess Luna?” the captain of her night guard asked. “Discord is the least of our problems now,” Luna said as she galloped towards the castle. > Past Problem, Future Plans > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Present Day, Melira‘s POV) “That was too close,” I said to myself as I flew over Sweet Apple Acers on my way to the Everfree forest. “I can’t take anymore unnecessary risks, a least not until I can set up an anchor point for my recall spell. If I can get that set up I‘ll have an escape that’s nearly impossible to track, but first I‘ll need a base of operations.” I stopped when something caught my eye; it was Twilight using her memory spell on Apple Jack. “Well things seem to be moving right along. It won’t be long before they turn Discord back into stone. As much as I’d love to see the look his face when they defeat him, I have a base to setup and I know the perfect place.” I flew over the forest until I was greeted with a familiar sight, Celestia’s and Luna’s old castle. I landed on top of the tallest tower just in time to feel the wave of magical energy emanating from the Elements of Harmony. “Goodbye Discord, my old friend, I’ll see you again when Fluttershy reforms you.” I descended to the entry hall of the castle and proceeded to find the castle archives. “A little dusty but it will do. Now, all I have to do is transform into a champion that can inscribe a runic circle, and then cast a cloaking spell over it. I’ve got it, I’ll change into LeBlanc.” Once my transformation was complete, I set to work, carving the runes into the stone floor of the archives by channeling my magic into the bottom end of my staff. I then cast a powerful illusion spell over the circle to make it invisible to anyone but me. “Now that that’s done all I need to do is test it out.” I walked back outside and said “recall.” Immediately after blue light began to circle around me and after about eight seconds I disappeared, reappearing back in the castle archives. “Perfect, though I wish it didn’t take so long to cast it.” As I went to go sit down a thought entered my mind, what if Celestia and Luna come here looking for me, I don’t exactly blend in. Although, I do know someone who will be able to hide if I stay in the forest tonight. “Nidalee,” I said aloud. “Wow, I really need to figure out a cooler way to trigger the transformation. Maybe a catch phrase that I can add in before the name of the champion. I‘ll work on that later, first I need to find a place I can sleep tonight where I won‘t get attacked by anything. Not that I can‘t deal with the creatures in this forest, I‘d just prefer not to.” As I made my way out of the castle, I spotted movement in the brush across the rope bridge. The first thing I saw was glowing eyes, and then I spotted the body made of sticks and branches. “Timber wolves, it had to be timber wolves. I could have easily killed a manticore, but no, it had to be timber wolves. That’s just great, and to top it off the Ruby Hourglass is out of charges. Well guess I have to fight them in this form.” I crept across the bridge before throwing my javelin at the first wolf, hitting it in the forehead right in between the eyes. I dove under the second as it tried to take me down, grabbing my javelin as I rolled through the landing. As I got up I felt a sharp pain in my left arm, I cried out as a third wolf sank its teeth into my left arm. “Get your filthy jaws off of me,” I yelled as I drove my javelin into the left side of its jaw. This caused it to recoil just enough for me to get away. “This is going nowhere, fuck it, I’m out of here.” Just as the first wolf was about to pounce on me I yelled, “flash,” and disappeared in a flash of bright yellow light. I reappeared a short distance away and began to run in the opposite direction of the wolves. I quickly lost the pack in the thick underbrush. I kept running until I saw a clearing ahead of me. As I stopped to check my surroundings, I noticed Zecora’s hut. “Wow, didn’t think I ran that far. That means that Ponyville isn’t very far away, it also means that I’ll have to switch to cougar form to avoid any unwanted attention. But first I need to deal with my wounds.” “Primal Surge,” as I spoke my arm was bathed in a green glow. “Well it stopped the bleeding and lessened the pain, but it’s still going to hurt like a bitch walking on it in cougar form,” I shrugged, “I’ll just have to favor my other legs.” With that, I said, “Aspect Of The Cougar,” this caused me to change from human form to cougar form. That primal surge did more than I thought. My leg doesn’t hurt as bad as I thought it would. It still hurts like a bitch but at least I can still walk on it. As I walked down the path, I could hear the sounds of small animals not far off. That must be Fluttershy’s cottage. I poked my head through the bushes, coming face to face with a white rabbit. I recognized him instantly as Angel Bunny, Fluttershy’s pet rabbit. He started to back away, but stopped after I stepped out of the brush and showed him my wound. “I heard that there’s a pegasus living hear that takes care of injured animals. Would you mind going to get her, I kinda need her help.” “Why should I do that?” Angel asked me. “Look, ether you can go inside and bring her out here so she can help me, or you can stay outside with me.” He paused for a second to think until I leaned in and said, “I would pick the first one if I were you; I haven’t eaten all day and your looking mighty tasty right now.” I crack a smile, showing off my teeth, to drive the point home. His eyes went comically wide as he gulped. He then proceeded to race into the house at speeds that would put Pinkie Pie to shame. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Fluttershy’s POV) I was sitting on my couch, having tea with my friend Twilight. We were having a conversation about pegasi grooming habits, when Angel burst in with a look of pure terror on his face. “What’s the matter Angel,” I ask him. “There’s a carnivore outside that wanted me to come get you. She said she would eat me if I didn’t!” he said frantically. “She said what!” I shouted, as I flew out the front door. “Who said what?” Twilight tried to ask me. “What’s wrong Fluttershy?” she asked, as she got up to follow me. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Melira‘s POV) “She said what!” was the only thing I heard before an irate Fluttershy burst out of her house. Great, looks like Angel didn’t tell her I was hurt. If he didn’t have a part to play in future events, I’d eat him here and now. Of course, if I did then I could kiss my chances of being friends with Fluttershy goodbye. I was broken out of my train of thought when I heard Fluttershy yelling at me. “You think you can just come over here and threaten to eat Angel,” she said while locking eyes with me. “I know you’re a carnivore and all, but my pet is not on the menu,” she said as I felt like her eyes were cutting into me. So this is the infamous stare, I thought to my self. “That’s enough,” I roared without breaking eye contact. The stare was replaced with a look of shock, and she began to inch backwards. “Before you make an even bigger ass of yourself, how about you sit down, shut up, and let me explain myself.” She immediately dropped to her haunches, taken aback by my tone. “Okay,” she whispered while trying to hide behind her mane. “First, the only reason I threatened to eat Angel is because I’m a little impatient and he was being stubborn. Second, I’m sure the little shit forgot to mention the reason that I’m here in the first place.” “And what would that be?” she asked me. “Oh just the injury on my left front leg that I got while fighting off a pack of timber wolves,” I replied. “Oh you poor thing,” she said while checking the wound on my leg. “Fluttershy, what’s going on out here?” Asked Twilight as she walked outside. “Oh Twilight, I could use your help moving this injured animal inside.” “I can still walk you know,” I said with an unamused look on my face. “Nonsense, you shouldn’t be walking around in that condition,” Fluttershy replied. “So do you think you could move her inside with your magic Twi?” “I’ll do my best,” Twilight answered as her horn started to glow. I sighed as Twilight levitated me with her magic. Not bad, considering she’s lifting an animal that’s as big as she is. I keep still as she levitated me into the house and set me down on the couch. As she broke her concentration and her spell started to dissipate, she got a panicked look on her face and backed up. Oh crap, I forgot that other magic users can sense the power of the Ruby Hourglass if they get close enough. “Get back Fluttershy,” she said as Fluttershy was about to bandage my wound. “What’s wrong Twilight?” Fluttershy asked with a confused look on her face. “That’s not an animal,” said Twilight while charging her horn. Fluttershy looked from me to Twilight, trying to decide what to do before I said, “She’s right my dear Fluttershy.” “Aspect Of The Cougar,” I said. Fluttershy jumped back in shock as my body was enveloped in a golden light. Twilight stiffened as I changed from cougar form to human form. Fluttershy hid behind Twilight who just stood there, with a look on her face that was one part aw and one part terror. “What are you?” Twilight asked me. “A human,” I said, “and before you ask, yes this is a spear, but no I’m not going to hurt you with it unless you attack me first.” She relaxed a little at that and let her horn go out. “Okay, so you won’t hurt us,” she stated, “but I do have some questions.” “I knew you would, but I’m not a big fan of giving long explanations more than once. So what you’re going to do is tell Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna to meet you here tomorrow. I’ll explain everything when they get here.” Twilight gave me a pout and said, “fine.” As she walked out the front door, I turned to Fluttershy and asked, “is it cool if I stay here tonight? Because I kinda don’t have a place to live right now.” “I guess so,” she replied while heading for the stairs. “Do you need any blankets?” she asked me. “I’m good,” I replied. “Goodnight Fluttershy,” I said as I used the first aid supplies that she had brought out to bandage my arm. “Goodnight,” she said as she flew up to her room. I laid down on the couch and went over the days events in my mind. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I guess it could work. It certainly will be harder to explain all this to Celestia and Luna, but I do like the idea of getting on their good side this soon. As I finished that thought, I let myself fall asleep. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (The next day, Twilight’s POV) “Where is she Fluttershy,” I asked. Around me stood my five friends, plus spike, and the princesses. “She’s inside, still asleep on my couch,” Fluttershy answered. “What do you mean she’s still asleep, it’s past noon,” I said. As I was about to say something else I heard a howl come from the Everfree forest. Immediately after the howl, three timber wolves jumped out of the brush. Fluttershy and Rarity both scream, and spike hid behind me, while the rest of use got ready for the fight. Before I could charge up a spell, I saw a spear go sailing past me, colliding with the face of the first timber wolf. We all looked back to see the creature that we had found yesterday standing just outside Fluttershy’s front door. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Melira‘s POV) I cast a gaze over the group in front of me before saying, “stay back, these are the timber wolves that attacked me yesterday. I have a score to settle with them, and I don’t want any of you interfering.” They nodded as I walked past them and stood before the timber wolves. I glanced down at the Ruby Hourglass and noticed that one of the charges had recovered. Ha, I know the perfect champion to teach them a lesson. I also just thought of the perfect thing to say before the name of the champ I want to change into, at least I think I did. Only one way to find out, say it in context. “Soul Shift, Annie,” I said. Yep, it sounds totally badass. As soon as my transformation was done, I heard Fluttershy squee. “Oh my goodness, she’s adorable,” she said as she pulled me into a hug. She released me when one of the timber wolves growled at us. “Are you sure you can handle them?” Twilight asked me. “I’ve got this,” I said as I conjured a fireball and threw it at the first timber wolf, which immediately burst into flames and exploded. The second charged at me, but I was ready. “Molten Shield,” I yelled and was surrounded by a flaming barrier. The timber wolf’s paw collided with the barrier and immediately caught on fire. I followed that up by yelling, “Incinerate.” When I did a cone of fire shoot out of my hands, catching the rest of the wolf on fire and making him explode just like the first. Before the third wolf had a chance to act I yelled, “Disintegrate.” That conjured a mana infused fireball, which I threw at the last wolf. When it collided with the wolf, it burned it to a crisp, leaving nothing but a pile of ash. As I was about to relax I noticed the remaining parts of the first two timber wolves start glowing. As they started to reform, they merged into one wolf. Due to how much of the two had burned, the one that formed barely came up to my waist. I walked up to the puppy-sized wolf with another fireball in my hand and said, “this is the part where you run away.” The little thing whimpered before running back into the forest. I turned around and saw that all of the ponies had looks of shock on their faces. Rainbow Dash was the first to recover, “that was so awesome,” she exclaimed. Princess Celestia was the next to speak, “while it was an impressive display of magic, I feel like we’ve already met.” “In a manner of speaking we have,” I said. “I’m Melira, wielder of the Ruby Hourglass.” “Thou art the one that we sealed in stone with the Elements of Harmony,” exclaimed Luna. “After I attacked you and Celestia,” I finished for her. “I had no choice but to attack you,” I said. “You’re going to explain why you had no choice,” said Celestia, “and it had better be a good explanation.” “Well, I already told discord the first part of the story, and like I told Twilight yesterday I don’t like giving long explanations more than once.” “Not to mention the fact that readers don’t like it ether,” exclaimed Pinkie. Everypony there did a double take. “Oh Pinkie Pie, forever breaking the forth wall. You know, if you were a unicorn your abilities would scare the living crap out of me,” I said with a serious expression on my face, everypony shuttered at that image. “I thing we’re getting a little off topic”, said Celestia, as she shook her head. “While I understand that you don’t like saying things twice we will still need that information before we can trust you,” she said to me. “Fine,” I said, “I’ll give you the abridged version of the story I told Discord. First things first, I’m not from Equestria,” they all gave me a shocked look. “Ya mean like you’re from beyond the borders of Equestria?” Applejack asked me. “No, I mean like not from this planet, possibly not even from this universe,” I said. “We find that very hard to believe,” said Luna. “Than search my memories,” I said. “I know you can Luna, you’ve done it before.” “Okay then,” she said as she closed her eyes and lit her horn, “we will.” “Well Princess?” Twilight asked, “is she telling the truth?” Luna opened her eyes and said, “yes, she is telling the truth, and her memories confirm it.” All of the ponies and the one dragon present gasped at that. “Okay, now where was I. Oh right, how I got here. Okay so long story short, I went to a gaming convention as a character from my favorite video game.” Rainbow interrupted me with the question, “what’s a gaming convention?” “It’s a place people can go, to find out about all the latest video games and to buy the latest gaming themed merchandise,” I answered. “I had gone to one of these conventions with my best friend. While we were there, I saw the Ruby Hourglass at one of the vendor booths,” I said while holding up the hourglass. “I bought it thinking that it just looked nice, I didn’t know it was cursed.” “How could you not tell it was cursed?” Twilight asked me. “Couldn’t you feel the magical energy coming off of it?” “No, I couldn’t,” I answered her. “How could you not sense that much power?” Celestia asked me. “The thing you need to know about my race is that we don’t normally have any magic,” I told them. “No magic?” Twilight asked me, “none at all?” “Nope,” I answered, “In fact none of the other species on my planet have any either.” “Wow,” said Twilight, “Wait, then how do you have any now?” “All of the magic I have comes from the Ruby Hourglass,” I said. “How does it work?” Twilight asked me. “That’s just it,” I said, “I don’t know.” “What do you mean you don’t know?” Celestia asked me, “didn’t you just use it?” “Well yes, I know how to activate it,” I replied, “but I don’t really know how it works.” “You’re not making any sense darling,” Rarity said to me. “We think what she’s trying to say is that she doesn’t understand the magic behind the transformations,” said Luna. “Exactly,” I replied. “Then how did you figure out how to transform?” Twilight asked me. “Don’t forget about the spells that go with the transformations,” said Fluttershy. “Well, the spells were easy to learn,” I said. “What do you mean the spells were easy to learn?” Twilight asked in a rather loud tone of voice. “It took me all of one minute to figure out that I was a character from League of Legends,” I said with a chuckle. “What’s League of Legends?” Rainbow asked me. “A video game,” I stated in a matter of fact tone. “Wait, so you woke up in Equestria as a character from a video game?” Celestia asked me. “Not just any video game,” I said with a smile on my face, “my absolute favorite video game.” “You must know a lot about the characters from the game then, right?” Rainbow asked me. “Okay first, I know all of the abilities of the characters,” I said. “Second, just for future reference, the characters in the game are called champions and I‘m going to refer to them as such from this point on.” “That still doesn’t explain why you think learning magic is easy,” Twilight said with a pout. “Actually, it kinda does,” I replied, “you see, when I figured out that I was actually a champion from League of Legends, my first thought was, “I wonder if I can use my champion’s abilities. The first thing I tried was saying the ability out loud while holding out my hand, and it worked. That’s also how I figured out that Ruby Hourglass responded to voice commands.” “How did you figure out you could transform?” Celestia asked me. “That I figured out the first time I ran into a chimera. The dark magic spells I use as Syndra only pissed it off. As I was fleeing for my life I said, “really wish I was Shyvana right about now.” As soon as the name Shyvana left my mouth, I transformed for the first time.” “Wait, if you transform each time you say the name of a champion, why didn’t you change just now?” Fluttershy asked me. “The Ruby Hourglass is out of charges,” I answered. “What do you mean out of charges?” Celestia asked me. “The Ruby Hourglass stores magic in the form of charges that I can use to transform,” I said. “One charge equals one transformation. The hourglass holds up to three charges at any one time,” I continued. “It gains new charges once a day, usually in the morning. I don’t know why it gains new charges in the morning, I just know that it does,” I concluded. “While that was quite informative,” Celestia said, “it still doesn’t answer my original question.” “Oh right, why I attacked you,” I said. “The event that lead to me attacking you was a portion of my power being stolen.” “Wait thou thought we stole your power?” Luna asked me, with a hurt expression on her face. “No, of course not,” I assured her. “I already knew who stole my power.” “If you already knew who stole your power,” Twilight said, “then why did you attack the princesses?” “I attacked them to make them think I was evil,” I replied. “Okay, now you lost me,” Twilight said. “It was because of something, that the being that stole my power said. It specifically told its minions not to kill me.” “That still doesn’t explain anything,” Celestia said, “just answer the question.” “Fine,” I said, “the answer you’re looking for is the Elements of Harmony and the seal you added to their power.” “Wait,” Celestia said, “you mean that you forced us to use the elements on you to keep others from using your magic against us.” “Pretty fuck-up right,” I said with a chuckle. “Sure is,” Replied Rainbow. “Why didn’t you just come to us and explain what the problem was?” Celestia asked. “We agree with Tia,” Luna added, “we’re sure we could have helped you.” “No, you couldn’t have,” I said. “It would have taken both of you using the elements alongside me while I was at full power to defeat them all, and I had just gotten my ass kicked by them.” “But, surely we would have been able to do something,” Celestia said. “That’s just it,” I said, “The only way to beat my magic is to either kill the user or overpower the transformation.” “Oh,” Celestia said, “I see.” “We still don’t get it,” said Luna, “why couldn’t the three of us defeat them?” “After my battle with them, I was on the verge of death,” I said, “their was 16 of them, and the only reason I’m still alive is because they let me live.” “You never did say why they let you live,” Twilight said. “I think it’s because the Ruby Hourglass used my knowledge of League of legends, to create my powers,” I said. “Without my knowledge those powers wouldn’t exist. If I was to die, and someone else used the Ruby Hourglass, I think it would use their knowledge and/or memories instead.” “Okay, I can see that,” Twilight said. “You keep talking about this fight,” Rainbow said, “can you tell us what actually happened?” “Now that we would like to hear,” said Luna. “As long as you’re okay with reliving that memory,” Celestia said, “I would also like to hear that story.” “I don’t mind,” I said, “I’ve had over 1500 years to get over that defeat. Alright, first let me set the scene. This battle took place not five minutes after I fought that chimera. I was injured during the fight with the chimera, which put me at a disadvantage at the start. It was an unfair fight with me verses sixteen enemies. If that wasn’t bad enough, I was attacked from behind just as the big one started draining my power.” “When I turned to look at my attacker, I saw the big one send an orb of my stolen power into the pony that had attacked me.” “Wait, one of my little ponies attacked you,” Celestia asked me with a hurt look on her face. “If it makes you feel any better, he was under a mind control spell,” I said. “How did you know?” Twilight asked me. “He was wearing a collar of some kind that was magically connected to the big one,” I answered. “Now where was I, oh right, orb of power being absorbed by the pony. When the orb hit him, he transformed into Lee Sin, and that’s where the shit hit the fan. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Equestria, 1575 years ago, Melira‘s POV) “What the hell just happened,” I said aloud. “My boss stole one of your transformations, and gave it to me,” said the pony that was now Lee Sin. “Why would he give that power to you?” I asked him “So that I could keep you busy, while he steals the rest,” he answered. “Wait, steals the rest,” I said, “like hell that’s going to happen.” “What do you think you’re going to do about it,” he said with a smug look on his face. “This, Flame Breath,” I shouted, shooting a fireball at him. He effortlessly ducked under it hit me with a Sonic Wave/ Resonating Strike combo. I flinched as I was hit in the stomach. He followed up with Dragon’s Rage, hitting me with a roundhouse kick strong enough to send me flying through a nearby tree. My mind began to race, as my vision started to blur. I need to get out of here, but I can barely move. Their’s no way I would be able to outrun him, but if I stay here I’m as good as dead. I thought for a moment as he came towards me. Then it hit me, “god I hope this works. Flash,” I yelled, disappearing in a flash of yellow light. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (??? POV) I watched as the shape shifter teleported away. As my minion went to give chase, I stopped him. “Steel Hoof, let her go,” I said, “I have all the power I need.” “But won’t she still be a threat, sir?” he asked me. “Yes, but we can’t afford to kill her,” I replied. “Why not, sir,” he asked. “Her magic isn’t like anything I’ve encountered before,” I replied, “I was only able to copy it, while preventing her from using the transformation I copied.” “But why can’t we kill her, sir?” he asked me, clearly not understanding where I was going with this. “Because if she dies, her magic dies with her,” I said. “Oh,” he said. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Equestria, Present Day, Melira’s POV) As I concluded my story, I felt a set of hooves wrap around me. “Oh, you poor thing,” Fluttershy said with the hint of a tear in her eye. “Fluttershy, please let go,” I pleaded, “your crushing my arm.” “Oh, sorry,” she said. “How long before our fight did this take place?” Celestia asked me. “About a week, why?” I asked. “You recovered from that fight in a week?” Celestia and Luna asked in unison. “Not fully,” I answered, “and to answer your next question, wounds don’t heal while you’re sealed in stone.” “Wait, you mean you’re still hurt?” Fluttershy asked me. “Well, I know some healing magic,” I said. “So I was able to heal most of my major wounds, along with all of the minor ones.” “You said you healed most of the major injuries right?” Celestia asked me. “Yes,” I replied, “the only ones I couldn’t heal were the ones that I got when I got kicked through the tree.” “Don’t those wounds hurt the most?” Twilight asked me. “You misunderstand,” I said, “nothings broken.” “Then what wounds are you talking about?” Celestia asked me. “Getting kicked through the tree knocked my spine out of alignment,” I said, “but that’s nothing that a skilled masseuse can’t fix.” “Then we simply must go to the Ponyville Spa,” said Rarity. “Aloe and Lotus will take care of that in no time.” “One problem with that plan,” I said. “I don’t have any bits, and I seriously doubt that my debit card works on other worlds.” “Don’t worry about the cost,” Celestia told me. “We will take care of the bill for a full spa treatment, along with your lunch, and some extra to hold you over until you can get on your feet.” “Why would you just give me all of that?” I asked. “Everything you have done, you’ve done to protect my little ponies,” Celestia told me. “Although we may disagree with your methods,” Luna said, “in the end you were willing to sacrifice your freedom to protect creatures you had never even met before.” “Of course I did,” I said, “it was the right thing to do.” “What you did is more then most would have done, had they been in your place,” Celestia said. “Which is why I would like to offer you a job.” “A job?” I asked her with a confused look on my face. “Yes, as a member of the royal guard,” Celestia told me. “I’ll take the job on one condition,” I said “Oh, and what would that one condition be?” Celestia asked me. “I want to be stationed in Ponyville,” I said. “Why Ponyville?” Luna asked me. “First, this town is a magnet for trouble,” I said. “Second, I have a global range teleport spell that I can use once a day and another spell that returns me to my anchor point,” I continued. “Third, and this is the most important one, I refuse to deal with the nobility on a daily basis,” I concluded. “You do understand that you will be expected to come to Canterlot when I send for you right?” Celestia asked me. “I do,” I answered. “Then I see no problem with it,” Celestia said to me. “We will have to inform the mayor of Ponyville of your new role.” “We’ll have to have a public meeting, to introduce you to the town as well,” Twilight said. “Can we wait until at least tomorrow for the town meeting?” I asked. “I would like to be able to tell the town about my ability to transform and then give them a demonstration of said ability.” “We think that would be the best course of action,” said Luna. “Don’t forget about your welcome to Ponyville party,” said Pinkie with a huge grin plastered on her face. “I won’t forget Pinkie,” I said, “but that is a plan for another day. As I remember, somepony promised me an all expense paid spa trip, plus lunch.” “Yes I did,” Celestia said, “shall we?” “Actually, Celestia and Luna, their’s still one thing I need to talk to the two of you about,” I said. “Very well,” Celestia said, “Twilight, why don’t you and your friends go on ahead, we will catch up with you.” “Okay princess,” Twilight responded, “let’s go girls.” As I watched them walk towards town, Celestia spoke, “so what did you need to tell the two of us?” “And why didn’t thou want to inform the elements?” Luna added. “Do you remember how I said that some of my power got stolen, before I got turned into stone?” I asked. “Yes,” They both replied. “Well the reason I pulled the two of you aside, is because I don’t think the one who stole it is dead,” I said with a nervous expression on my face. “What makes you think that?” Celestia asked me. “I can transform into any champion from League of Legends. I know that because I can hear their voices in the back of my mind. Over time, I’ve learned how to focus on one of them at a time and even tune them out altogether. In doing this I discovered that some voices were missing, eighteen to be exact.” “How do you know that you didn’t just lose those transformations, after they were stolen?” Celestia asked me. “The one who stole them, specifically said that he only copied the transformations, while binding the original,” I answered. Celestia and Luna both looked horrified, and Celestia asked me, “what do you plan on doing about it?” “First I’m going to deal with my public image, and then I going to get my spine back into proper alignment. After that has been dealt with, I’m going to hunt down each of my transformations, one at a time if I have to. I’m not going to stop until I have recovered every last bit of my magic, no matter how long it takes.” “You’ll keep us informed about any threats you find out about right?” Celestia asked me. “Of course I’ll keep you informed,” I answered. “I’m counting on you to protect my little ponies,” Celestia said with a serious expression on her face, “please don’t let me down.” “I won’t,” I answered. “Now, I think we have kept the others waiting long enough, shall we,” I said while gesturing towards town with me hand. “Yes,” Celestia answered, “let’s go.” _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (??? POV) I watch as the shape shifter, and the princesses, walked down the path towards Ponyville. “Enjoy the freedom while you can young one, I’ve finally figured out how to replicate your transformations without needing your magic,” I said. I called for one of my minions, “Steel Hoof, come here.” “Yes sir,” he replied. “What did you need?” “I want you to tie up the loose ends,” I told him. “Kill the shape shifter, and if you get the chance to kill the princesses and elements as well, take it.” “Yes sir,” he replied, “It will be done.” “Oh, and Steel Hoof,” I said. “What is it, sir?” he asked me. “Ether come back successful, or not at all,” I said. He gulped as I turned and began walking back into the forest.
