Once upon a time, before the time of Equestria and even the time of the Celestial Sisters, ponies lived in a very different world amongst side many other sentient species in peace and harmony. However this peace was shattered when a great catastrophe befell the world.

A massive shooting star collided with the moon, shattering it into countless stone pieces which nearly destroyed the world with it's force.

Chaos, fear and strife broke out between the surviving species as they fought with one another for survival, forgetting that they have once been friends and family.
In the end only two remained, a human and a pony, both ready to kill the other and become the last living creature in the world.

However when they both realized this, the two ceased their fighting and decide to live out their remaining time together. They traveled what was left of their once beautiful world, sharing everything and anything they could, from their happiest to saddest experiences, memories of their lost loved ones, and their past hopes and dreams that would never come to be.

Eventually the two succumbed to hunger and thirst, lying side by side as life left them and embraced as the closest of friends and family. With a smiles on their faces the human and pony died together side by side.

The elder gods who have been watching the two were moved by their bond and decided to honor the two by reviving their dead world. From their bodies two divine trees sprang forth, the Trees of Life and Harmony, their energies revitalizing and bringing balance to the world.

Soon life began anew with life flourishing all over the lands. The humans and ponies, guided by the spirits of the Trees of Life and Harmony, worked together to maintain balance, harmony and peace through the world.

However, this peace wasn't meant to last.

Over time the ponies as guardians of the Tree of Harmony were blessed by their tree with three unique gifts. One group was gifted with great strength and a strong bond with the earth and plants, another group were given wings to soar the heavens and control the weather, and the last group were given horns to channel their power and perform amazing feats.

The humans however received nothing from their charge the Tree of Life as it's sole purpose was to maintain the life energy, chakra, that sustained the world. This led for some of the humans to resent the ponies who were blessed by their tree. This led to some of the humans to resent those who were blessed by the tree, and it lead to a lustful desire and a great war for the power of the trees.

War raged for years, the death and chaos slowly killing the two divine trees and the world itself.

Desperate to stop the wars, a young woman and pony came before the two trees and broke an old taboo. They ate the trees' fruit which contained immense power and where transformed after eating them.

The pony the fruit of the Tree of Harmony and gained all of the abilities bestowed onto her fellow ponies. She gained given a horn, wings, a strong bond with nature itself and grew bigger then other ponies. She became the first alicorn.

The young woman grew two horns that resembled rabbit ears, a third divine eye, all seeing sight and many other godlike abilities.

Working together the two ended the wars and restore peace and balance to the world. Revered as gods the two lived amongst and lead their people, who adored and worshiped them. Despite the love of their people, the two goddesses' yearned to have children of their own. A yearning that was fulfilled by the wills of the Trees of Life and Harmony.

The entire world celebrated the births of their goddesses' children, both having twins. The human goddess had two sons while, many years later, the alicorn had two daughters. They raised their children together with great love and care, teaching them how to use their inherited gifts.

Sadly despite all the light in her world, the human goddess succumbed to her darkness, one that stemmed from fear that her own children would become corrupt or become targets of those that wished to use them for their own gains and sparking another great war. To avoid this and end all conflict, pain and suffering forever the goddess decided to trap all living beings inside an endless dream and shared her goal with her friend the alicorn in hopes that she would aid her in her endeavor.

To the goddess' surprise her long-time friend refused to take part nor allow for such a horrid fate befall the world, leading to a battle between the two of epic proportions. In end however the alicorn was beaten by the goddess but was saved by the intervention of her two sons, who opposed the goddess' plan.

Enraged the goddess went and absorbed the Tree of Life in order to take back her sons' chakra, becoming a monster whose power shook the very earth itself. Despite the odds against them her sons were able to defeat the goddess and seal her away, separating her body, spirit and power to prevent her revival.

With the aid of the alicorns the two sons set out to end the conflicts that have began after the goddess' defeat, a difficult task since most have come distrust and fear them because of their power and relation to the goddess herself.

After many moons the alicorn, who was nearing her end due to wounds from her battle with the goddess, feared that the Tree of Harmony would either perish or suffer the same fate as it's sibling.

To prevent this and for the sake of her little ponies and other creatures she declared that her daughters must take the Tree of Harmony along with their little ponies and other species to a new home. After saying her tearful goodbyes the alicorn used the last of her strength to open a portal to a new realm.

As the alicorn daughters bid their farewells to their old friends they bestowed the eldest son's own two children a special magic that, when used together, would back them back should peace return to the world or if they were in great need of the ponies' aid.

To this day we still wait for Indra and Ashura to call us back.

Finishing her story Luna looked down from the window that let in the night sky and meet the gaze of a wide-eyed little filly, smiling at her bright expression.

The filly's coat was regal black and had a long purple mane. Her turquoise eyes had dagger-shaped pupils but the whites of her eyes were also off. Instead of white, they were a lighter color that closely resembled the color of the irises. But what really stood out was the fact that the filly had not only a pair of pegasus wings but a unicorn horn, making her an alicorn. Her cutie mark was a night-blue kite shield which tapered off to a single point at the bottom and crested to a single point on top. The blue color was steely, with a slightly lighter-toned metallic highlight that almost looked like a narrow crescent moon.

“Wow! S-so humans are REAL!?” the filly, Nyx Sparkle, adopted daughter of Twilight Sparkle, all but shouted in amazement. “Lyra isn't some crazy crackpot? Uh, I mean she wasn't making them up?”

Luna stifled a giggle at Nyx's flustered excitement and stammering over having called another mare a crackpot. The little filly had been staying at Canterlot with the princesses' while Twilight was busy with an assignment from Princess Celestia herself. Something to do with Starswirl the Bearded or something. Luna had offered to look after Nyx while Twilight was busy, to connect with what was the closest thing the Princess of the Night had to a daughter/little sister. The two have been reading about old Equestrian folklore and Nyx had asked her about the humans that a unicorn in Ponyville had been going on and on about.

“Yes Nyx humans do exist however none have ever set foot in Equestria. At least not to my or Celestia's knowledge.” Luna said with a sad smile as she thought back to her time with the two-legged people. “All that we have left of them are legends and myths that have been passed down through the generations.”

Noticing Luna's sadness, Nyx tried to get her mind off it with some questions. “So what were they like? Is it true that they looked like pig-monkeys? What was their culture and society like? And what magic could the human goddess's sons do? And what were they like? And what about the elder son's children and their mother?”

The excited filly failed to notice Luna's slight flinch at the last question but the princess hid it with a small, warm smile. “Now, now settle down Nyx, it is almost time for you to retire to bed and there is simply far too much to tell about the humans and the Otsutsuki clan's powers.”

“Oh.” The little filly said with disappointment as her ears drooped.

“But I can tell you a few basic things about them and we can continue tomorrow, with my sister sharing her time with the humans as well.” Luna promised and couldn't but laugh and smile at Nyx's cheerful 'yay!'.

For the next fifteen minutes Luna told Nyx about the human species. Their diverse cultures and beliefs, diet, need and fondness for clothes, over all appearance (even admitting that she had found a few attractive), and their ability and tenacity to adapt to any environment but extreme natures, but took caution not to share too much of their darker aspects despite Nyx's past life as Nightmare Moon. She just started to talk about the goddess's sons when she was interrupted.

“Luna it is time for Nyx to go to sleep.” Celestia said as she walked into the room, a guard and a maid following her. Luna looked at her sister then back to Nyx, who was trying hard to stay awake but was adorably failing.

“Aww-yawn, can I least he-yawm-ar-AAH!” Nyx yelped as Luna's magic lifted her over to the maid and settled the filly on her back. The little alicorn shot the moon princess a glare/pout which earned a laugh from the other occupants of the room.

“Goodnight Nyx, sleep well.” The Princesses said to Nyx as the maid and guard walked out, giggling at the pout the sleepy filly gave them before slumping down on the maid's back and her ensuing light snoring. After the filly and her escort left the room, Celestia turned to her sister and saw she was staring out the window, lost in old memories.

“Thinking about them again, Luna?” Celestia said giving her sister a sad and understanding smile. “About Hagomaru and.... the boys?”

“Yes dear sister... I... miss them.” Luna quietly said, a tremble in her voice caused by a deep pain of longing. A white feather tip met her face and wiped away the tears she didn't know she was shedding. Celestia held her close in a comforting and warm embrace, her own tears flowing.

“As do I sister.” Celestia said in a similar tone as memories of two young children playing with her and Luna flowed through her mind.
“Do you that Indra and Ashura are still...?” Luna began before falling silent.

“I can't really say dear sister. They might have obtained immortality like we have or they might have... passed on. Personally I rather not dwell on it.” Celestia confessed as she shook such thoughts away before giving Luna a small smile. “I am certain of one thing though.”

“And that is?”

“That Indra and Ashura had each other and together they helped one another find happiness, as I'm sure they worked to carry on their father's will.” Celestia said with a confident smile. “Those two could do the impossible when they worked together.”

“Like the time you taunted them and they ended looting your private stash of sweets and sake?” Luna said with a smirk and giggled at Celestia's embarrassed look.

“Please don't remind me of that Luna.” Celestia muttered at the memory, Hagomaru having scolded her for the incident that followed after the boys took a sip of her speical sake.

After getting herself under control Luna looked up at the moon. “Still though sister, do you think that we will ever be called back to our birth place?”

“I can't say sister, we only gave the summoning scroll to Indra and Ashura which they have to use together in order to summon use.” Celestia said with a sigh. “Chances are that they couldn't end the wars before they passed on or perhaps they lost the scroll at some point.”

“Well what abou-” Luna suddenly felt a shiver rundown her spine, as did her sister. “Sister did you feel that?”

“Y-yes I did.” Celestia said with a stammer. “A summoner's link and call but why are we both sti-”

“PRINCESSES!” Nyx's guard ran into the room, a look of panic and dread on his face. “NYX HAS BEEN ABDUCTED!”

“WHAT!?” The princesses joint yell echoed through out their castle and Canterlot, waking everypony who wondered what was going on.

Uzumaki Naruto, genin of the Hidden Leaf Village and self-proclaimed future Hokage was in unbearable pain. He had been on his way home with his team after they had successfully completed their C-rank turned A-rank mission in the Land of Waves and were just a day's walk from getting home when disaster struck. However Naruto was the only causality, the blond boy forced to take refuge behind a couple of bushes, while his so-called teammates stood several yards away and leaving him to suffer, until the pain stopped or ran out of.... you know.

“C-come on guys, what happened to never leave a comrade behind?” Naruto weakly called out to the rest of Team 7.

“We told you over and over again NOT to eat that Naruto!” Sakura yelled over to the blond who had been suffering a severe case of the runs.
“B-but those brownies looked so g-good...” Was his pitiful reply.

“Those weren't brownies Naruto.” Kakashi said as he nonchalantly read his infamous orange book. “Honestly I have no idea what it originally was and I'm very surprised you aren't dead yet.”

“Then why would they... Oh my insides!” Naruto cried as his body expelled some more undesirable materials.

“My guess is that Wave villager wanted to give something as a sign of gratitude, even if it was nothing more then some spoiled food.” Sasuke said to his suffering teammate with a look of disgust at the less then pleasant sounds he heard from the bushes. “But it's still your own fault for eating it after WE ALL told you not to eat it and throw it away.”

“B-but that would have be-been rude...Plus those brown-”

“THEY WEREN'T BROWNIES DOBE/BAKA/NARUTO!” The rest of Team 7 yelled back at the blond, nearly causing him to fall over but thankfully he didn't.

“Okay fine they...oh my guts... weren't brownies.... but can you least give me some more toilet paper...ugh... I'm running out here....” Pleaded the genin as he clutch his aching stomach.

“No way Naruto, not after the way you wasted the extra rolls we gave earlier!” Sakura scolded him with an irritated tone. “You tried to TP Kakashi-sensei and Sasuke-kun, dressed up as a mummy and made those weird dolls having sex with each other!”

“Yeah that was pretty weird.” Kakashi commented off-handily as he flipped a page, paying little attention to the genin.

“Idiot.” Sasuke muttered as he rubbed his temples at the memories of the blond's antics.

“Fine be that way you bunch of jerks!” Naruto all but yelled at them followed by an awkward period of silence before the jinchuuriki piped again. “Hey Sasuke let me borrow those sleeve thingies of your's!”

“If it will shu- NO WAY IN HELL!” Sasuke yelled with his face turning red in both anger and embarrassment at Naruto's request and his momentarily lapse in judgment due to his Naruto-induced headache. It grew worst when he gave a sideways glance and noticed that Sakura and Kakashi were both giving him looks that said 'Were you really going to?'. Sasuke looked away his face burning as his sensei and female teammate kept their disbelieving gaze on him and Naruto kept moaning out in pain.

“WELL YOU GOTTA GIVE ME SOMETHING!” Naruto yelled out, once again gaining the reluctant attention of his team and scaring off several birds and other woodlan critters. It was the finally straw for Sasuke.

“FINE!” The Uchiha snarled out as he took off his travel pack and began rummaging through it's contents. After a minute or two of searching he pulled out not a roll of toilet paper but an old scroll. One that Kakashi recognized from the corner of his exposed eye.

“Say Sasuke isn't that the scroll you got from one of the villagers?” Kakashi asked as he remembered the various gifts they got from the villagers back at Wave before they left for Hidden Leaf.

They didn't have much to give due to Gato's extortion, building the bridge and other proprieties, so they gave their departing heroes whatever they could and was easy to carry. Amongst the gifts were a few old books which weren't in the best of conditions. Articles of clothing, most of which were privately given to Kakashi as thanks from a few grateful women. Some food and snacks, most of which were spoiled as evident by Naruto's current predicament.

While he, Naruto and Sakura had humbly accepted the gifts, Sasuke had politely declined them all, expect for the scroll which the offering villager claimed was rumored to contain some very powerful ninjutsu. Kakashi was skeptical at first, as he knew Sasuke was until the villager said that no one has been able to open it. That was enough for the Uchiha to accept the scroll and put it away as he thanked the man. The boy looked over to Kakashi and his other teammates, the jounin acting like he hadn't heard or seen Sasuke receiving the scroll. He knew that Naruto and Sakura sure as hell didn't as they were to busy getting praised and thanked by the villagers.

Kakashi made a mental note to talk with Sasuke and look at scroll later, in private. He didn't what to deal with the headache that was sure to follow if the rest of his genin found out about the scroll. However he was still suffering from chakra exhaustion and Naruto's antics kept making him forget about it. Until now.

“Hai. I managed to open it a while back and it turned out to be a dud.” Sasuke said with a slight tone of angry disappointment as he opened and revealed it's blank contents. Such things were common in their world, as decoys for potential thieves and spies.

Kakashi decided he would lecture the Uchiha about opening scrolls from an unknown sources later as he moved in closer and uncovered his Sharingan to quickly analyze it. After a few brief seconds of silence, aside from Naruto cries and Sakura yelling at him, Kakashi could see nothing special about the scroll other then it was perhaps made from some really good, durable paper. Although it made for a very unpleasant substitute for toilet paper.

“Well that's rather disappointing.” Kakashi said as he covered up his Sharingan, feeling the effects of his chakra being drained. He had really been slacking off. “But you do know that you have to hand over it to Naruto, right?”

Sasuke looked at his sensei's eye smiling face, his own paling and baring an expression of sheer horror and repulsion. The Uchiha looked over to the thick bushes his idiot blond teammate had concealed himself in, his pained voice and other unpleasant sounds emitting from them. He quickly realized that he couldn't just throw the scroll over to Naruto and attempting to do so would most likely make their situation and headaches worst.

Sasuke looked over to Kakashi in hopes that the adult jounin would be the one to take the scroll over to Naruto. However his eye-smile grew larger as if he was silently saying 'Hell no'.

He looked over to Sakura who had her back to him and was too 'busy' organizing and looking through her own bag to be bothered with. She did look back briefly at her crush but quickly looked away and buried her head in the bag when she met his glare.

“DAMNIT” Sasuke growled as with great reluctance and disgust he made his way over to the insufferable blond, his knuckles whitening as he attempted to crush the scroll and silently vowing to make his team pay. Oh how they will pay for this experience.

He slowly approaches the bushes, looking for an opening that would alone him to simply throw the scroll over to Naruto without having to get too close. To his dismay the bushes' branches were intertwined in a way that threw that idea out the window. Plus judging from Naruto shaking and current condition, the dead last wouldn't be able to react and catch the scroll.

Sasuke quickly formulated the best and most effective course of action for this specific situation. He just had to explain to Naruto as simple as possible.

“Alright Dobe listen up!” Sasuke yelled to the groaning boy, taking his louder groan as a response. “I got this scroll you can use but I'm going to run over to you, hand to you and run as far away as possible from you and your.... mess. If you drop it and can't get it then you're on your own.”

“UGH.”

“I'm gonna take that as a yes.” Sasuke said as he got into position for his run. “On the count of three.”

“One.” Sasuke pinched his nose with his right hand while Naruto stuck his right arm out towards him.

“Two.” Sasuke took as big a breath as possible, eyes locked on his target.

“THREE!” The Uchiha prodigy ran as fast as he could that didn't risk him tripping or crashing. That was definitely the LAST thing he wanted to happen and end up face first in something rather... unpleasant.

Within two seconds Sasuke was at Naruto's side or more accurately within the bare minimum distance required for him to hand him the scroll. His left arm shot out as if he were thrusting the deadly edge of a kunai into someone's skull and smacked the scroll down into Naruto's right hand. Sasuke was about to release the scroll when he saw Naruto's fingers curl around the scroll and jump as far back as he could when suddenly....

'LOUD, MYSTICY MAGICAL SOUNDING SOUND PLUS A BRIGHT RAINBOW COLORED FLASH'

Following the bright light that flashed from the scroll and the loud odd sounds it emitted the two friend/rivals dropped the scroll. Kakashi was at their side in flash, his right stretched out protectively in front of Sasuke and his left arm ready to uncover his sharingan if needed. The Copycat Ninja was certain that Naruto was safe within the bushes and Sakura quickly ran up and stopped right behind Sasuke.

“WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPEN!?” Naruto yelled from the bushes, startled out of his mind. “I know played pranks on you guys and all but getting back at me now when I'm already in so much pain is really low!”

“WHAT!?” Sakura screeched back at her blonde teammate while Sasuke and Kakashi looked at the scroll laying on the dirt. “Why would we, especially someone as cool as Sasuke stoop to the same level as you? And what about the time you slipped laxatives to every guy at the academy last year and put itching powder on the toilet paper in the boy's room?”

“ENOUGH!” Kakashi shouted sternly at his two bickering genin, who buttoned their lips at the rarely show sternness coming from their usually lax sensei. At their continued silence and stillness Kakashi bend down and cautiously picked up the opened scroll. The once blank paper was now covered in ancient symbols and patterns that the Copycat Ninja barely recognized or had ever seen before. But what was really startling for the jounin was what his sharingan was allowing him to see. A powerful and thick chakra was pulsing through the scroll and it's contents, however unlike other times he saw such a things the chakra flowed in a much gentler way. Like a large river flowing down and into the sea.

He had never seen or heard of such scroll as the one currently in his hands. However he was certain of one thing.

“This is a Summoning Contract.” Kakashi said out loud without thinking, too caught up in his thoughts to realize his mistake.

“Summoning Contract!?” Sasuke and Sakura echoed out loud, both their eyes going wide at the statement and the significance of it.

“Summoning Contract!” Naruto yelled out in excitement from his place behind the bushes. “COOL I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT OUT!.... Uh what does it do?”

The rest of Team 7 sighed and facepalmed.

Rubbing her temples Sakura decided to answer him. “Naruto a Summoning Co-”

The pink headed girl stop as a strong breeze blew over her and a certain smell assault her nose. Simultaneously Sakura, Sasuke and Kakashi all brought up one hand to their face and pinched their noses as hard as they could to keep out the smell.

“We'll tell you after you're done back there Naruto and we get as far away as possible from those bushes.” Kakashi said nasally and making a mental note to keep an eye on Naruto's eating habits from now on.

-H-A-R-M-O-N-Y-

Several hours later.

After Naruto was done with his bout of violent diarrhea and Team 7 had gotten a good distance away from the horrible site, Kakashi had ordered his team to set up camp for the night. Once they were settled and had their dinner cooking Kakashi explained to Naruto what a Summoning Contract was and made sure to make it sound as cool as possible for his energetic charge.

“So if I sign it then I'll be able to summon so super-cool animal-monster?” Naruto asked as he shook with excitement, his eyes sparkling at the thought.

“That's right.” Kakashi said with an eye-smile, amused by his student's excitement.

“And it will help me fight or teach some cool jutsu?”

“Yep.”

“And it could be anything? Like anything anything?”

“There's no picture or anything that tells me what it summons, so yeah it could be anything.”

“Like a dragon?”

“Could be.”

“Fighting Chipmunks?”

“Maybe. Wait, what?”

“Hot alien babes with three boobs!? OW!! SAKURA-CHAN!"

“....Three tits that's awesome.”

“What was that Kakashi-sensei!?”

“I mean that is very unlikely.” 'Still though that would be the greatest summons ever. Of all time.'

“....” 'They're all idiots.'

“So when do I get to sign it?” Naruto asked having recovered from Sakura's fist of womanly wrath, and was now staring at Kakashi with big sparkling eyes, shining in awe at the prospect of being able to summon a mysterious super cool creature.

“Who says YOU are going to sign it, it's my scroll.” Sssuke remarked as he glared at Naruto. He didn't like the idea of sharing a Summoning Contract with Naruto. Being his teammate was irritating enough as it is, plus he didn't want the blond to ruin things and possibly cause the Summoning creatures revoke the contract.

“It's OUR scroll, it was gift to all of us -Team 7- as thanks from the Wave villagers.” Naruto shot back in a in-your-face-and-suck-it tone of voice.

“...I a-agree... w-with... Na- choke- NARUTO!” Sakura choked out as she dry-heaved and struggled to breath. “I can't believe I just said THAT. And infront of SASUKE-KUN.”

“That's pretty mean Sakura-chan!” Whined Naruto as Sasuke and Kakashi gave the girl blank stares.

“Well you're still not signing it!” Sasuke snapped at the two.

“Sasuke is right, not one of you is signing it.” Kakashi chimed in and waited for it to register in their minds.

“See Kakashi agre-.....”

There was a brief moment of silence before the sound of mental glass breaking resonated throughout the clearing.

“WHAT!?” Yelled the genin out together as they stared at their sensei.

“We know nothing about this scroll other than it 'rumored' to contained a powerful jutsu or rather a powerful summoning familiar and someone obviously went to a lot of trouble to conceal it's contents. Especailly if the sharingan couldn't SEE anything other than blank paper.” Kakashi calmly explained to his students. “Although that still doesn't really explain why it reacted and unsealed it's contents when Naruto touched it.”

“Hey maybe I'm some kind of chosen person, ya know!” Naruto excitably theorized, in an attempted to get Kakashi to allow him to sign the contract. Seeing the blank looks he was getting, he elaborated. “You know like I'm destined to do something big and important, with prophecy and all that mystic and destiny junk!”

More blanks stares and awkward silence followed.

“Moving on.” Kakashi said, ignoring Naruto's outburst of 'hey it could happen'. “It could be that you're related to the one had sealed the contract. It's not uncommon for people today to discover and unseal lost, forgotten artifacts hidden away by their ancestors from decades to centuries ago.”

“So what you're saying is that it belongs to me and it's totally in my right to sign it, right!?” Natuto said with a grin. “OH I bet my ancestor was some big shot, like a king or super strong ninja!”

“Kakashi please tell me you're joking.” Sasuke begged with a sour look on his face as Naruto rambled on and on about his supposed royal lineage. 'Next thing you know is someone telling me that Naruto and I are reincarnated brothers or something like that.'

“Kakashi-sensei couldn't you have explained in a way that DIDN'T inflate Naruto's ego.” Sakura muttered as Naruto, lost in his own little world, kept on bragging to her about it in an effort to impress her and completely oblivious to what his teammates were saying.

“Sorry but that's the only explaination I could come up with.” Kakashi said with a small apologetic smile-eye.

'Or share, the only other explaination is that it reacted to the Kyuubi's chakra.' Kakashi thought silently to himself, as he wondered how such a thing could have happened. Had there been other Kyuubi jinchuuriki? Or did someone somehow take some of it's chakra and used it to seal the contract?

“Regardless that doesn't change the fact that it was sealed for a reason, Naruto.” Kakashi stated sternly, causing Naruto to stop his rant and look back at him. Seeing that he had his student's attention once again Kakashi continued. “And until we know why it was sealed and what sort of creature it can summon, no one is signing anything.”

“So what? You're going to had it over to the Hokage?” Sasuke asked although he knew the answer already. A powerful Summoning Contract was something anyone would want to get their hands on.

“That's right. We'll take measures to see what kind of creature is tied to the contract and determines whether or not it will be beneficial to the village.” Kakashi said as he got up and pulled out his favorite orange book. “However even if it proves to a benefit that still doesn't mean that any of you are ready to have such a contract.”

“WHAT!? OH COME OH KAKASHI-SENSEI! THAT JUST BLOWS!! YOU SUCK, YA KNOW!”

“Yeah Kakashi! After what we just did back at Wave we're ready for anything!” 'There is no way I'm letting this chance to impress and get closer to Sasuke-kun slip through my fingers, SHANNARO!'

“While I agree that Naruto and Sakura aren't ready for it, I know that I can handle it.” Sasuke stated plainly, ignoring Naruto's glare, Sakura slumping in depression and Kakashi's deep, long sigh.

“Until I know that I can trust that NONE of you will do anything that may get the 'potential' contract revoked, get killed or eaten by whatever kind of creature it is bond with, no one is signing it. Point.” The famous ninja stated with a hard and stern tone, silently telling his genin to drop the matter and was meet with less-then-happy 'hai' followed by inaudible angry muttering. “Good now we leave for the village first thing in the morning so off to bed you three, I'll take the first watch tonight.”

“Uh are you sure Kakashi-sensei?” Sakura asked, genuine concern replacing her anger with him. “I mean I've noticed that you've be sluggish for a while. Is it because of the sharingan?”

“Just a bit of chakra exhaustion but it's nothing compared to aftermath of my first battle with Zabuza.” Kakashi reassured her, waving off her concern and giving her an eye-smile. “I can handle the first shift but I suggest you get some sleep Sakura since you're taking the next one, followed by Naruto.”

Sakura face fell into an irritated frown as she remembered how much of pain it was to wake the blond boy up for his shift. 'Why couldn't it be Sasuke-kun! I wouldn't mind waking him up or watching him sleep!'

A chill ran up and down Sasuke spine but he managed to keep his composure as an all too familiar feeling of dread washed over him.

Distracted by their own little worlds and issues, none of the other members of Team 7 noticed their last member looking at the jounin. A mischievous and uncharacteristic, calculating glint shining in his bright boy eyes.
