Tokyo

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Long live…the king…” said the hell-bat as he began to plummet.

Destroyah, after being blasted repeatedly from Godzilla and the mazer-tanks, fell to the ground, exploding from the heat and impact from the ground. Godzilla had won. For the last time on earth. Thanks to the help of the army, his son’s death was not in vain, and was laid to rest.

But now, after all that time fighting, mourning and roaring, Godzilla knew it was time. It was time for himself to die. Godzilla roared in pain, as his body grew hotter and hotter, deader and deader.
Back in G-centre, Kenkichi Yamane watched the temperature readings from the board as it finally reached 1200 degrees.

“Meltdown!” alerting the entire room as Ken said it.

In an instant, Professor Fukuzawa and Cmdr. Takaki Aso darted their heads towards the screen. The Cmdr. never liked Godzilla, especially for destroying the cities of the Japan, and obliterating the expensive MechaGodzilla II. But he couldn’t help but feel awful. It was people like him that had caused Godzilla to be where he was now. So for once in his life, he felt bad about Godzilla’s fate.

On screen, it showed Godzilla, rotating around in agony from his melting heart, with huge clouds of steam coming off around him. The army’s mazer-tanks trundled forward into firing range of Godzilla, awaiting the signal to commence attack.

From up in the sky, Kazuma Aoki, the ex-pilot of the Garuda, piloted the Super-X3, armed with its freezer weapons. The mazer-tanks turned on freezer mode too, and awaited signal.

“Fire at will!” giving said signal.

Hearing the signal, the pilot next to him fired the nose cannon, shooting a large freeze-ray from the front of the Super-X3 at Godzilla, making his exterior lower in heat. Seeing this, the mazer-tanks began to also fire their freeze-rays and missiles to cool the dying Kaiju.

Surprisingly to Godzilla, it didn’t annoy him like the regular missiles they usually shot at him, and actually help to sooth some, but definitely not all, of the pain he was feeling. Minutes passed, and the whole army was still firing, keeping Godzilla in stable, non-lethal heat.

Back on Monster Island, Angurius, Rodan, Mothra, Baragon, King Caesar and all the other Kaiju watched helplessly as Godzilla was pelted again and again with mazers and missiles on a large monitor-screen made by the humans. The screen was made for the monsters to show and alert them when enemies were attacking earth for them to stop.

But now, what they saw was their ruler, king, and best friend dying in front of them, and there was nothing they could do to help him. Angurius silently sobbed at his best buddy being destroyed, Rodan was looking away in pain, and Mothra was just looking up and down from herself to the screen, whispering and praying for this to stop.

But it was inevitable. And they thought seeing Jr get killed on screen was sad, but to see Godzilla writhing in agony and pain, slowly dying, was infinitely times worse.

In the G-centre, the radiation scales grew huge, showing just how much radiation Godzilla had in him as it seeped out of him.

“What radioactivity!” exclaimed Kazuma.

Kazuma had never seen such high levels of radiation before! No wonder Godzilla was so powerful! He flew past Godzilla, doing a 180 turn to begin his lane of fire again. Suddenly, a bright, white glow started to shine from Godzilla, so bright that every person and Kaiju watching had to squint their eyes just to see Godzilla in focus.

The army seized fire, and watched as Godzilla’s heart began to finally fail. Now, meltdown had officially begun. Liquid fluids and flesh foamed from Godzilla’s mouth, and various parts of his body and face started having its skin melt off to reveal swampy-green bones full of radiation. His ears melted away and exploded from the massive heat. Godzilla tried to clench his teeth, but they cut through each other like a hot knife through butter, so he stopped.

Godzilla looked to the sky and saw the moon, faintly glowing through his body’s fumes. He remembered all his adventures, all the friends he made, all the lessons he learned and taught, and all the Kaiju he had tamed and destroyed. And then he remembered Jr. He remembered their time on Monster Island. He remembered all the things he taught him, and all the abilities he learned. He remembered telling him about how Jr one day would take the title of King of the Monsters from him.

But now all that was gone. His son, was gone. His kind, was gone. And pretty soon, he would be gone too.
Godzilla growled in anger, but started to feel numb throughout his whole body. Now the only thought going through his mind was how the humans had changed him and many other creatures into giant monsters like him.

He thought of how even after all they at least tried to do for him, after all they tried to do to make him forgive them, he still hated them with every fabric of his existence. Then, all his radiation burst out his chest, turning the city into a radiated wasteland. The last words on earth he would ever speak trailed out his mouth in an angry, but deathly tone:

“Goodbye…cruel…world…” Godzilla whispered into the wind.

He gave one final roar of pain to the sky. And then, Godzilla was gone. Dead. His mulch-like corpse stood there a moment, before falling down onto the hard earth. The corpse turned to ashes. The ashes turned into dust. And the dust turned into…nothing. Not one atom of his DNA was left. He was all gone. His soul drifted into space, never again to be seen in this universe.

“Godzilla’s gone. He’s turned Tokyo into a ghost city.”

Dr Kensaku’s soul had turned white from grief seeing Godzilla die.

“It looks like we paid for it in the end.” Yukari realized.

“Paid for what?” the Doctor said angrily.

“All of it. All that stupid use of nuclear energy.”

Yukari was right. It really was all their fault Godzilla had died. And their fault for the deaths of both humans and Kaiju alike, Jr being the newest entry to add to the list of casualties. It was their fault for creating those evil creatures like Destroyah and King Ghidorah.

The earth stood still, as the entire nations of the world realized that they truly were the monsters all along. They had brought war, destruction and death to nearly every species on earth, Kaiju or not.

“*sniff sniff* My job is done now Godzilla. *sniff sniff sniff*”

Miki felt worse than had she ever felt in her life. In fact, everyone was feeling the same. Every human on earth was disgusted at themselves for being a member of the species that had led to the death of the greatest hero on earth of all time. A feeling of dread had engulfed the earth.

The planet as they knew would never forget the god that had walked among them, and saved them all from hell itself.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Time Vortex

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Godzilla opened his eyes again, he immediately knew something was wrong. It appeared that he was being flown through some kind of colossal tunnel. He felt extremely tired, and felt the need to just shut his eyes briefly for a moment.

“Where…where am I?”

That was the only thought going through his head, until he looked down at what he thought were going to be his hands. But instead the only thing there were hooves! Realizing this, he also realized that the rest of his body felt very different. He came to one horrifying conclusion:

“I’m a horse?!?”

He just kept thinking to himself “No!”, “No!”, but when he looked down again, there they were. Two white hooves, a colour of which was similar to that of his now vanished claws, were on where his hands should have been! He looked down his new arms, covered with a black coat of fur, coloured darker than charcoal! He looked up to see some kind of substance above his forehead. A large, drooping hairdo.

“I have hair too?!? What next, is my tail going to be a mop?!?”

Godzilla found what his tail bones must have been by moving his body around, and swished his tail. Looking behind him, he saw that, thankfully, his tail didn’t look that much different, just his spikes looked much jagged than before. He reached around with the tip of his tail and stroked what looked like one of his dorsal fins on the tail, only to feel it with a furry touch.

“My spikes are hair now?!?”

The spikes on his tail had turned into tufts of hair, running along the tail. His eyes came to rest on his back, and the back spines had turned into a line of white hair that streaked from the base of his tail to his neck. Godzilla sighed, calming himself:

“I suppose it could be worse.”

He went back to looking at his head. This new hair, or rather mane, appeared to have a dull bone-white colour with a tiny hint of grey. It looked quite shaggy and very reminiscent shape of his dorsal spines, but like the tail hair appeared much spikier. But in the middle was some kind of crooked cone-shaped object.

“A…horn?”

He lifted his new left hoof and tapped the “horn”, causing it shoot sparks out of the tip. It startled him to say the least, but it felt…familiar.

“It feels like…magic. Wait, do I have a magic horn? God, the f**k is next? Next, I’ll probably have wings or somethi-“

He stopped when he realized that there was a new feeling on each of his sides. A strange, and unfamiliar feeling he had never felt before. He slowly turned to look at his left side, and then to his right. There were, on each side, clear to see, wings. Actual. Real. Wings. Although he didn’t know it, he was an alicorn. That took the cake for Godzilla.

“You have got to be sh***ing me right now. Why the hell do I have wi-“

His mind went blank when he saw a bright light coming from what looked like the end of the tunnel. At the end of this strange, purple, flowing tunnel was bright yellow portal. In the portal, he could see what looked like dark clouds, trickling with lightning. A new universe.

“Right, time to find out where the hell I’m going at last.”

Godzilla went through the portal. However, the resulting crisis in this new world was not like anything he was prepared for.

Chapter 1: A Godly Arrival

Ponyville (several minutes earlier)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Nightmare Night”. One of Equestria’s most beloved and infamous celebrations since its history began. Ponyville is always heavily decorated for this event, with various spooky ornaments and objects to add to the atmosphere. So like it or not, it was Luna’s favourite holiday of the year.

There were no other proper celebrations about her specifically, so it was really her only choice. After one of the previous “Nightmare Nights”, were Twilight had shown Luna that the residents of Ponyville weren’t really afraid of her anymore, the Mayor of Ponyville (or Mayor Mare to be more precise), had planned that every “Nightmare Night” from there on out would start with Princess Luna announcing its beginning in an announcement booth in the centre of Ponyville. Princess Luna was happy to oblige, and the idea was officially announced to be part of the tradition.

Celestia, as per usual, had said that she is unable to attend this year’s “Nightmare Night” for “work-related” reasons. Luna had no idea what she had meant by this, but had shrugged it off, as she knew being somepony like Celestia was a busy role to be in charge of.

But that wasn’t going to be the unusual event. The event that was about to change Equestria was only so soon, and nopony would have ever anticipated what was about to happen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The “Nightmare Night” Announcement Booth

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the booth behind a curtain, Princess Luna waited while the Mayor was giving her personal speech to the large crowd of ponies gathered around in front. This year’s “Nightmare Night” had been a very successful one, so successful that it was in itself spooky how well things were going. There had been no accidents, misplacements or anything out of the ordinary. For Luna, you could say it was her perfect night.
Just then, a pony walked in, claiming to have a letter from Princess Celestia herself. Intrigued, Luna took the letter, and in it read:

“Dear Luna,
My sincerest apologies for sending this message on such short notice, but it appears I’ve had a miscalculation with the amount of work to do. There isn’t as much papers to fill out as I thought, so I predict I’ll be able to make it to the “Nightmare Night” festival after all. Again, sorry that this may have arrived so soon and unexpected, but at least you know that I’ll be there for you on your special night this time.
Your sister, Celestia”

Luna had smiled through the entire letter, especially at the thought of her sister finding the time to make it to the celebration this year. It was a dream come true for Luna.
She was about to set the letter down, but suddenly was distracted, as she heard some kind of gentle scratching sound. She looked around the room for the source, until her eyes came to rest on the floor.

There, in the wooden floorboard, was a small, strange looking beetle-like creature. Now that she had found the source of the sound, she bent over to see a better look at this bizarre looking “beetle”. To her surprise, the beetle was like nothing she had ever seen.

The thing looked like a small chunk of black crystal, about the size of a plastic button you’d find on clothes, with six small little legs, three on each side, which looked like burnt thin matchsticks. Its eyes were like two tiny scalene triangles, and were bright red, giving the beetle-creature a sinister look to it.

She panned her eyes to a small hole on its left, which was just a bit bigger than the beetle itself. It had been how the beetle was able to get into the room in the first place. Since it looked evil, and since Luna had techniqually been “evil” when she was Nightmare Moon, she thought that perhaps she could communicate with it.

She had no idea if it was intelligent or not, but from the way it was looking at her, it must have wanted her attention.

“Are you quite alright?” she said.

The beetle was taking quite an interest to her mouth for some strange reason, eyeing it with unpredictable intentions. To Luna’s surprise, the beetle made a seemingly innocent “chirping” sound, indicating a response. Realizing that the beetle might have responded, therefore understanding her, she began to talk again. A horrible mistake.

“Are you ok? You seem a bit lost. Maybe I can help yo-“

She never got the chance to finish, as the beetle made an ear-piercing screeching sound, before jumping straight into her mouth, and down her throat.

“What in Equest- *gag* *cough* *splutter* *groan*”

Something was happening to her head, a feeling she had never experienced before. The beetle, from inside, had quickly dug/eaten its way into her brain, and had clamped itself right onto it. It felt as if Luna was having the worst brain freeze possible, mixed with the feeling of thousands of spiders crawling around her brain.

Through the pain, she realized what was happening: The beetle must be a parasite, and was trying to take control of her mind by force. She fell to the floor, her hooves clutched to her head.

“What is happen-ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

It was no use. The creature had attacked so unexpected, Luna hadn’t been able to use her magic to counter it. After one last gag, she gave in. After 5 seconds of laying on the ground, the parasite was now fully in control of its host’s body, and slowly got to its feet. This form was powerful, but it wasn’t exactly terrifying.

In Luna’s mind, it found a memory of an evil incarnation of herself, named Nightmare Moon. This form would be perfect, and was much more powerful. Slowly, the parasite transformed its new body to the form of the dreaded Nightmare Moon: The mare on the moon! Outside, it heard what sounded like a large crowd.

The perfect things to hunt are always in groups. This was going to be fun for this crystal insect.
Outside, Mayor Mare was finally finishing off her personal speech.

“…But now I think it’s time to let the mare of the night give her thoughts for this years ‘Nightmare Night’. Mares and stallions, put your hooves together for Princess Luna!”

With that, the curtains then opened, accompanied by the grateful applause of the crowd. But soon, it immediately turned to silent fear, as they saw the unmistakeable, terrifyingly infamous Nightmare Moon!

“DIE!” screaming at the top of its lungs.

And with a loud screech, the dark mare fired her even darker magic into the centre of the crowd, sending ponies flying everywhere, and burning some of them very badly. With that, the downed and surrounding ponies quickly got to their hooves and both ran and screamed in all directions. The parasite was impressed. This new body would make short work of the town.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cloudsdale

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile in Cloudsdale, the Wonderbolts were having their own little “Nightmare Night” party, and all the pegasi around were invited. Cloudsdale wasn’t as heavily decorated as Ponyville was, but that it was still littered with decorations throughout. Rainbow Dash was having a blast, getting to techniqually hang out with the Wonderbolts, and had spent most of her time talking to Soarin, who had been bragging about all his professional feats and tasks he had carried out. This was cut short however, when Spitfire ran in, a look of distress on her face.

“Listen up everypony! We’ve just got word that Nightmare Moon’s been sighted down in Ponyville, and causing some pretty big doom down there! We’ll need all the help we can get to take her down!”

Dash couldn’t believe it!

“I thought Luna was over being the bad guy…girl, now! Why would she just turn like that?” Dash thought to herself.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Spitfire.

“Ya got that, Dash?”

“Me?”

“Yes you! Didn’t you hear me? We’re going to need some help, and while I hate to admit it, you’re one of the best flyers we got here in Cloudsdale, so it would be a big help if you came to, considering you’ve fought her before. Ok?”

Dash thought about this for a moment, but quickly realized that they would indeed need her help, what with Dash defeating the likes of Nightmare Moon, Discord and Tirek before. However, that was with the elements of harmony: her friends. But she had to do it, for everypony’s sake. She was still confused about why Luna had so suddenly decided to turn back to the badness though.

“Ok, I’m in on it then!” Rainbow Dash stated aloud, gathering up the enthusiasm.

“Great, then let’s go!”

Before they left, Dash and Spitfire walked up to a large crate. Within the crate were around 100 or so flares.

“Um, what are these for?” Dash asked, puzzled slightly by this unexpected gear up.

“Have you even seen how dark it is tonight? If we just go falling through the clouds on a night like this, we’d all just bump into each other! So, if we put a flare on…”

Spitfire paused momentarily to adjust the strap that secured the flare on her leg. Rainbow Dash had never exactly seen the flares been used in action. She had heard they were only ever used in extremely dark conditions. This have been one of those.

“…like so, we’ll all see where we are, so there won’t be any kind of collisions. Ya dig?”

“Alright, I get it.”

After taping the flare to her left leg, quite quick might I add, Dash got behind the line of Wonderbolts, and they one after another jumped out the side of the edge of Cloudsdale, plummeting towards the ground. It was a long way, but it was the fastest way. All around her were many of the Wonderbolts, but by the looks of it many other pegasi were coming too. Dash even made out a particular silhouette which no doubt must have been Derpy.

They were nearing what Equestria called the “Cloud Barrier”, the huge area of clouds separating the line of sight between Ponyville and Cloudsdale. The clouds were positively filled with lightning, so everypony needed to be on the tip of their hooves with caution, as just one strike from the lightning could prove fatal. Dash was concentrating hard, putting all of her focus on getting down to Ponyville as soon as possible.

Then, Dash suddenly heard a faint “explosion” to her right.
There, in the corner of her eye, was some kind of dark object, falling towards the surface. It looked a bit like a pony. Maybe it was some kind of gargoyle, blasted up into the air.

However, just bright enough to see, there was something very odd about it.
The thing had eyes. Orange eyes that glowed like fire. Whatever it was, she wouldn’t be anywhere close to realizing she who/what she was looking right at. But this was quickly interrupted as Dash and the other ponies finally started falling through the Cloud Barrier, and the sight of the strange object was lost behind the clouds.

The clouds were quite thick, but looking down, Dash saw an orange glow slowly emerge out of the bottom of her view, coming from the direction of the ground, no less.

But what she saw was beyond what she was expecting.

Nearly half of Ponyville looked completely destroyed, and again nearly all of the half was like a sea of fire, engulfing the buildings and stalls around the damaged area to grow ever large in diameter. On the ground, ponies of all shades of colours were running for their lives away from the scene, clutching their young foals and items with them, tears in their eyes from the fear. Just then, an ear piercing screech could be heard emanating from the middle of the firestorm.

In the centre of the blaze was Nightmare Moon. She looked completely maddened, like she had lost all her sanity and reason, and it showed as she fired her lazer of magic at the rubble of what was once a house. Already some Wonderbolts were heading in her direction, determined to stop her in her tracks.

When Dash finally got to the ground, it seemed already too late. She could see walls of fire behind the buildings, ponies lying all around wounded, and other things seemingly too dark to tell. Spitfire landed beside Dash after a few seconds, and explained the situation.

“Right, here’s the plan. I’m gonna go help some of the others distract and hopefully bring Nightmare down, you go search for civilians and get them out of town. Ya got that?” Spitfire yelled over the noise like a sergeant.

“But Spit, what if-“

Dash never finished the sentence as they both shot a look behind them. Soarin was being thrown through the air, with a stream of magic slamming into him and sending him flying.

“Oh no. Dash, quickly, GO!”

Spitfire said no more as she rounded the bend to fight the threat of Nightmare Moon. Dash had lots of questions on her mind: Why would Luna do this? Why now? How now?
She was again distracted by-

“Dashie!”

Pinkie Pie. And she was a sight indeed. Her usually bright and puffed up hair was now hanging low and straight, a look she only put on in drastic situations such as this. There was soot all in her hair and sides, and a small bleeding gash stretched along her right rear leg. And her face was something rare too: Full of fear. Dash couldn’t remember the last time Pinkie had ever been scared, nor if she ever was truly scared before. But she certainly was now. Pinkie Pie had been in the crowd of ponies that had been first attacked, and was thrown into a pillar of wood which had given her the nasty cut on her limb. She looked just as freaked out now as Dash too.

“Oh my gosh Dash, you won’t believe what’s happened! Lunawasallevilforsomereasonandattackedeveryponyandshelookedsocrazyandweirdandhereyesaredifferentand-“

“Calm down Pinkie, I can’t understand what you’re saying!”

“Sorry, it’s just I got so scared! I’ve never been that scared before Dash. I thought she had killed somepony! And she started beating up ponies with her hooves and-

“Wait wait wait, slow down! Did you say she beat somepony up with her bare hooves?!?”

Never had an Alicorn used their own hooves for offense, or be so violent like that. Not to mention they pretty much rely only on their magic as means of attack. There was something very, very wrong here.

“Anyway, we can’t worry about that now, we’ve gotta get any pony we see out of here! Now Pinkie, do you know any other pony who might be in Ponyville, as in right now?” Dash said as she remembering orders.

“Oh yeah, um. Oh no…”

“What?”

“Applejack’s on the other side of town!”

“Then what are we waiting for?!? Let’s go!”

And without further chatter, the two ran off around to the other side of Ponyville, unaware of the pair of white eyes tracking them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Other Side of Ponyville

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boy, what a night for AJ. This year’s “Nightmare Night” was possibly the best one she’d ever had yet. Applejack had been selling off various “Nightmare Night” inspired apple treats, from pies to toffee apples, at her little apple stand. She glanced over her shoulder at the woven sack which she kept under her desk, and her eyes gleamed as she saw how full of coins it was. She couldn’t wait to show her family all the loot she’d gotten from selling off the apple-like creations. They were going to be so proud and happy with her.

There had sounded like there was a bigger party on the other side of town it seems, as there was quite the number of shouts coming from there. Whatever was happening over there, it sure sounds like fun.
Just then, a familiar pair of ponies AJ knew as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie came running around the corner from a fair distance away, and upon noticing her, dashed right for her, panting like dogs.

“Well howdy you two, 'was with the hassle?” unaware of the present danger.

It was faint, but Applejack could just here Dash’s words:

“Look out behind you!”

Applejack gave them a questioning look, before hearing a cracking sound behind her. Walking out of a crumbling building was Nightmare Moon, but she looked much different than before. The main difference to her was that before, she had dark black pupils in her eyes. But now, they were turned into a possessed, cream white colour. And it was looking right at her!

“Oh shoot!”

Without thinking, Rainbow Dash went into flying mode, soaring straight for Applejack to save her. Nightmare Moon powered up her horn to shoot Applejack with a powerful magical blast at her head, and fired. Applejack flinched and covered her eyes, awaiting to be shot down by the magic.

Rainbow Dash went faster and faster, her mind racing with messages of saving AJ. She smashed into Applejack knocking her out of the line of fire, before being head-shotted by the magic lazer in the face. Rainbow Dash, being practically exhausted, was instantly incapacitated, and lost all of conciseness. He landing like a heap next to Applejack.

“RAINBOW! NO!” AJ shrieked.

Pinkie came running up beside them, as Applejack tried to bring Dash back awake by shaking her furiously. The apple stand was completely crushed and splintered from the ram from Rainbow Dash, exposing the trio to Nightmare Moon’s line of sight. They were all too scared to try and yell out or get out of there.

After realizing that Rainbow Dash was going to be out cold for the time being, Applejack turned to see Nightmare Moon advancing towards them. Pinkie Pie was huddling by the side of Applejack, practically terrified with the most out-of-character expression on her face that AJ had ever seen on it. She looked back at Nightmare Moon, who looked like she was getting ready to pounce on them. Applejack then shut her eyes, awaiting to be struck down, but she could suddenly feel a tingly feeling on her backside.

She opened one eye, and saw Pinkie Pie’s tail twitching like nuts. Pinkie had realized this too, and her eyes were also fixed on her tail.
A twitchy tail could only mean one thing: Something was about to fall from the sky.
As if on instinct, the two conscious ponies looked up at the sky, and sure enough, some kind of black object was hurtling toward Nightmare Moon. They looked back at her with wide eyed, as she got into a catlike pouncing position.

But before she could pounce, the large object slammed into her, sending her flying into a brick-walled house. The blast created a large mushroom cloud at the area of impact, sending dust, dirt and debris into the air like a grey smoke.

Upon the shattered and cracked wall Nightmare Moon’s eyed flashed open again, and gave an ear-piercing screech at the mountain of dust particles that had formed around the place of impact. All was quiet at first for a few seconds, then came the response:

From the mushroom cloud, a large and long tail came into view from the misty cloud, in a curled position, and went around a full 180 degrees a few feet from where she lay, before retreating back into the smoke.

Next, a lighting strike behind the “thing” shot light through the smoke, revealing the silhouette of an upright figure that resembled a massive pony standing on its hind legs.

Just 2 seconds after that happened, a pair of red-orange eyes beamed to life from the position of where the bipedal pony’s position was, when the lightning had revealed the creature, and stared right at it.

Then, the pony slowly leaned out from the smoke, still on its hind legs and leaning over her, giving it a view of dominance. It had its front legs curled up in front of its chest, much like a bunny would. It slowly lowered itself down onto its front legs, now all hooves on the ground, creating a somewhat thudding sound.

It had an enraged look on its face. The pony slowly leaned back a few inches, eyes still on Nightmare Moon, and ever so gently raised itself a bit off the ground. It sucked in its breath, and slammed its frontal hooves back down onto the ground.

But with it came a massive roar: a roar that completely drowned out any other sounds (if there were any) around for miles, right at her face. The roar was a somewhat high-pitched battle cry kind of bellow, with a very distinct grumble to it in its background you could make out ever so slightly. Its face seemed to wobble a little bit as it roared at her, and she could see practically every detail of the head as it roared its defiance at her.

The roar lasted about 10 seconds, before the pony’s jaws slammed shut, and Nightmare Moon could feel the air being pushed against at the force of the mouth closing. It was followed by a low grumble, as the pony breathed heavily through its nose in anger at her.

Without warning, the pony grabbed her by the waist, and threw her over its shoulders, sending her flying into a medium-sized water fountain which seemed to explode on impact when the dark mare crashed into it.

“That’ll teach you to scream at me like that.”

Godzilla had returned to the world of the living.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Applejack had risen from her position on the ground, with a mystified expression on her face.

“Who the heck is that fella?”

She just stared at the scene she had just witnessed before her. She had no idea who this pony was, nor how he had the strength and guts to just pick Nightmare Moon up and throw her like that. The smoke began to fade away, revealing the body of a massive black pony. He was just huge, and no doubt must have towered over her.

The pony was making some kind of deep growl at the direction of where Nightmare Moon and been plummeted into the fountain, breathing slowly in and out of its nostrils. After a few seconds, the pony seemed to have sensed her, and turned its head to look right at her. As more of the smoke cleared, it revealed two large wings on either side of its body, as well as a horn on its forehead.

“Another one of those Alicorns?!?” not knowing who Big-G was.

“What in the abyss is she looking at me like that for?”

Godzilla looked at the pony straight in the eyes. It was an orange pony with blonde hair, with some kind of unknown leathery object on its head. They stared at each other for a moment before Godzilla’s head darted back upon hearing a sound in the direction of the fountain. The dark pony that had screamed at him was digging her way out of the rubble of the fountain, with an angry look spread across its face. Godzilla growled again at the creature, the call to fight within him taking form.

Nightmare Moon screeched at the creature who had attacked it, annoyed that such a thing would just take the situation by storm just like that. She too growled back at it, aware that this particular one would take a bit of work to beat. She slammed her front left hoof onto the ground, causing the patch of stone and dirt to crack beneath her.

Out from the cracks crawled out about 10 Nightmare Night Spiders, all armed with deadly venom in their fangs. They formed a row of themselves directly in front of their mistress, ready to receive the order to attack. Applejack couldn’t believe the scene that was unfolding in front of her own eyes.

The two royal beasts stared at each other more, awaiting a chance to attack or strike. Godzilla slowly opened his mouth, keeping his teeth clenched, revealing pearly white molars as well as 4 frontal canines you might see on a dog, 2 on each jaw, and growled ever more.

Suddenly Nightmare Moon barked another screech at the large pony, and the spiders at once charged quickly to attack the enemy. They all leapt up into the air, flying at the target to inject their venom. Godzilla calmly did a 360 degree tail smack across the line of airborne arachnids once they were all within striking range, splattering them within the air.

Nightmare Moon was utterly surprised by this, backing away a couple steps out of shock. Godzilla again returned his stare to his opponent dead straight in the eyes, with a serious unamused face across him. Godzilla began roaring again at Nightmare Moon, but something was different this time. The first roar seemed like blind fury, but this one seemed beckoning…as if he challenging her. He roared again and again, trying his best to impose as much of a threat to her as possible.

He was trying mock her, manipulate her into a fight. Giving her current position, there were only two choices: Fight back and try to put this pony in its place, or run away like a coward and become the hunted.

So in retaliation, the mare on the moon tried her best to mimic a battle cry in turn, receiving another angry and mocking roar from Godzilla. Intimated, she being pawing the ground like a bull, preparing to charge straight for him.

But Godzilla was not backing down. His senses are hard-wired to detect a threat, and attack it head on. Literally, if need be. The fight was on, and he was gonna make sure that this creature was going to get the message from this.
All at once, Nightmare Moon began running at her opponent, head lowered with her horn pointed and ready to harpoon her newfound nemesis.

Godzilla as well began running at her, but kept his head up with his jaws fully showing all his teeth. Closer and closer they got, faster and faster too. Nightmare Moon closed her eyes, awaiting the feeling and sound of when she finally stabbed right into her enemy. Godzilla raised his head up a bit, ready to use a counter-attack on the opposing pony as he ran at her, his mouth beginning to open.

Finally they slammed into each other, but something unexpected had happened. Godzilla had swung his open mouth down on Nightmare Moon’s head like an axe, completely countering and surprising Nightmare Moon as well. She let out a surprised and pained howl, as Godzilla tightened his jaw muscles on her skull, cracking it like an egg.

Godzilla, still holding his victim in his mouth, pushed her to the ground and began clawing, scratching and biting Nightmare Moon’s torso, making blood and bone sweep out of his opponent as he tried his best to disembowel her, occasionally head-butting her.

Nightmare Moon at once grabbed one of his punching hooves in her mouth, and also tried to crush it like he had done to her. Most of her ribs were broken, organs torn and blood was shooting out like a fountain. She did her best to add more pressure to her bite, shaking it around like a wild dog.

Godzilla couldn’t help but give out an internal chuckle at her feeble attempts of her hurting him. He simply slammed on top of her, rolling around the floor with her attached, trying to disorient her. It was working. They both kicked, punched and bit at one another in a wild frenzy, both trying with all their might just to kill the other.

Soon it became so graphic and fast, it was just a black-blue and red blur of ferocity, with growls of anger and pain yelling out from it. The ball of fury crashed through a house, exploding it to smithereens in the process. The battle continued out of sight from Applejack and Pinkie Pie, roars and cries still sounding out from its direction. The two were utterly dumbfounded by what the f**k they just saw, mouths literally dropped to the floor. Pinkie was the first to snap out of it.

“C’mon Applejack, need to get Dash out of here before they come back!”

Applejack had clearly not fully snapped out of it, shaking her head to better get her brain working again. She turned her head right at Pinkie Pie.

“Who in the feather-dusting-busting was that?”

Pinkie was obviously getting impatient.

“It doesn’t matter right now, we need to get Dash to a hospital or something!”

Pinkie was right, Dash might be in some serious trouble. Applejack really wanted to know who that “fella” was that had saved their tails back there, but like Pinkie Pie said, friends come first.

“Alrighty then, let’s get going!” Applejack declared not wasting another moment.

With that, Pinkie Pie threw Rainbow Dash onto her back, and began running over to the edge of the town. Applejack ran up to her side, looking back at the destroyed house that the two powerhouses had just crashed through. It wasn’t going to be the last time she saw something like that. You could bet your apple cider on that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Godzilla had once again gotten the upperhand in the fight, pinning his opponent down to hopefully stop her from jumping away again. He laid down punch after punch, each one deadlier than the last as they smashed into Nightmare Moon. He was dominating her. Obliterating her. Annihilating her even!

It was no use for Nightmare Moon. This physical strategy was only making things worse for her, and she was completely out matched and overwhelmed in this factor. Bringing up all of her four legs, she kicked her enemy off and flew to the sky. She was heavily damaged in every part of her body, so she had to be careful now. Her life depended on it.

She quickly charged up a large lazer from her horn and fired the line of lazer right at Godzilla, sending flames everywhere around the area. Had he exploded, or burned perhaps? It was best to do it again, just in case. She shot again and again quickly, a total of 8 more times at where her target was presumably standing, before stopping to catch her breath. She stared at the flaming ground, now an ocean of flames below her. The enemy must have been destroyed by that, it must have!

Unaware to her, Godzilla had crawled behind her as she hovered several feet in the air, as Nightmare Moon surveyed the scene she had created. A smile of false victory spread across her face, laughing at herself for not using her magic sooner. She began to ascend into the air, seeing as the population of this town had been diminished, and began heading in the direction of Cloudsdale to assault it too.

Godzilla jumped onto the roof of a house, running across it on a collision course with his opponent. Nightmare Moon began to soar ever higher into the sky to her new destination. Godzilla jumped with all his might of the edge at the building, heading straight for the dark mare. Nightmare Moon had barely anytime to think or react as she heard something fly at her.

Godzilla slammed into her, gripping on with his hooves and teeth around her hind legs. Nightmare Moon flew higher and higher, as there was no other direction to go, until she broke through the Cloud Barrier, revealing everywhere around her was a wall of lightning filled clouds. Godzilla began climbing up Nightmare Moon, the sharp corners of his teeth and hooves digging deep into her as he did. Nightmare Moon gave out more painful groans as she tried shaking her opponent off of her, even firing her magic right at Godzilla’s face, but to no avail.

Godzilla bit down on her spine, bending it out of place and making Nightmare Moon actually scream out. Godzilla released his grip from her spine, but to his surprise got socked on the nose by Nightmare Moon. She punched again and again, one after another, each merely just angered him.

Then Godzilla just went all out on her, pulverising her face with punches which could shatter rock into her cranium, and every time the blows let out a crackly-crunchy sound as he pounded her. It was just total destruction to all sections of her head, blood coming out from the mouth, nose, ears and eyes. With one final windup punch, he performed a Mike Tyson KO Hit square in her face, and that was that.

Nightmare Moon’s wings stopped flapping, and she and Godzilla began falling towards the surface at an astounding rate. Standing on top of his falling enemy’s body, he slammed his tail into her abdomen, blasting her at Mach-speed at the ground, smashing into a little voodoo-themed stall.

As the dust settled, Nightmare Moon slowly opened her eyes into a foggy clearing. She winched from the pain when she tried to get up, and fell back into the damaged remains of the stall, closing her eyes again. When she opened them again, a slight recognisable silhouette of the pony she had fought was now in the fog, growing larger as hoofsteps began to sound out to her, and she closed her eyes again.

When she opened her eyes for a final time, the large pony was only centimetres from her face, sniffing her curiously. He gradually turned around, ever so slowly lifting his tail up. The last thing Nightmare Moon saw was her opponent’s strange tail slamming into her. And everything went black.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Well that was easy.”

Godzilla had done it. He had beaten this creature that had desecrated this small town, done his part and saved it. But there were many questions left unanswered here: What is this place? Where is this place? How did I get here? How am I alive? Who was that? What am I?

For some reason he had found walking on all fours in this new body natural, despite the fact he had lived an entirely two-legged lifestyle back on Earth. Who knows, maybe this is Earth! Perhaps this is just an undiscovered land so well hidden that not even he could have found it!

There were a lot of things going on in this head, thoughts of what he had seen just now, and what he had done. He had shrunk in size incredibly, his strength had been significantly lowered (not that he wasn’t weak in this form, not one bit), and on top of all that; his body had taken on a dramatic change in look. If only he could see it…

He quickly scanned around the area for something to help look at himself in its reflection, just something. His eyes came to rest on the stall he had crashed nearby when he had slammed the dark pony with his tail into it. His tail didn’t feel that different, but he had to get a way of confirming what he looked like.

He saw an object, somehow intact despite having a pony crash-land into it. It smelled like hardened glass and plastic, but he had no idea what it was. It was a thin rounded artificial creation of some sort, with strangely-shaped skulls on the front of the frame, and a large clean glass plate in the centre. It was obviously a mirror, but since Godzilla had no knowledge of such things, he really couldn’t tell what it was.

Cautiously he moved to the front of it, and his new form was revealed:

He had a vantablack coat of fur, opposed to his normal charcoal colouration with his scales. It covered nearly his entire body, save for on his hooves. The fur was draped over the hooves, making them look like his usual four toed feet, which were bone white. His hair was also the same bone white. His hair ran from the top of his head, some of it hanging in front of his face, all the way down to the base of his tail.

The hair on the tail was different, positioned much like his previous dorsal spines and in the same shape, but being much more jagged and sharp in appearance. He had an average pony head, with his eye’s having the colours with orange for his sclera and red for his iris. Opening his mouth revealed many, many large molars, with only four of the teeth in front being sharp canines, where before all of his teeth were the canine fangs. They made him look like a vampire.

His new horn was sort of bent and crooked with 3 lines going upwards around it like a normal unicorn/alicorn horn. But instead of it ending in a blunt edge at the tip, it has sharpened to a pin-point at the end, making it a deadly close range physical weapon.

On each side of his body were wings, but not your typical feathered Pegasus wings. No, these were humongous dragon-like wings that stretched from the middle of his body, the front of them at the start of his chest, and the tips working all the way down to just over the base of his tail. But unlike dragon wings they were a velvety furry texture, making more like hairy batwings. He could tell they were going to be useful.

His body and legs were quite stocky, but muscular, and he still felt strong even in this downgraded form. Speaking of which, he was also still pretty tall for a pony, about the same height as Celestia (not that he knew who she was yet). Either just as tall or just a bit more.

And finally, his tail seemed…not that much different. It was as wide as his abdomen at the base, the length of it stretching out to the tip like a whip. It was the same length as his body, including the head.
He really was a new creature.

Now that he knew of his appearance, he still had questions to answer for himself. For example, how the hell did he know to run on all fours? He never did it before, he had spent his whole life walking on two feet. So why did it all of a sudden feel natural to just get around on all of his feet? It must have been some instinct from being in this new body.

But now, he had more important things to take care of. Like executing that b**ch for attacking him. Ok for the town too, but mainly for him! He looked back at what must have been a quiet town before this incident, surveying all the destruction and ruin brought forth by the hoof of this other dark pony.

He walked back in front of it, seeing its chest slowly rise up and down. Somehow it had survived the fall, and the wounds. A second glance confirmed that this pony seemed to be some kind of mech (or so he thought) given that it had metallic parts for armour. He guessed it wouldn’t be the first time he fought some kind of cyborg, but not of this origin. To say it was injured would be an understatement, no, more like almost destroyed. Broken. Blood was still pouring from its chest, its limbs and such had bones and organs exposed, and everything looked bent and cracked unnaturally. He didn’t figure this thing would last long.

Kneeling down, he sniffed what must be its face (or what’s left of it), but the scent he got caught him off guard. Crystal. But not just any old crystal, this smell could only be that of the Crystalmites: Microscopic bio-mechanical creatures that grew in the crystals that attacked Earth in the “Unleashed War”.

A war that tore Earth apart with crystals, and making them turn cities like Seattle in volcanic valleys, Sydney into a frozen wasteland, and Tokyo into a Kaiju paddle pool. The crystals took over the minds of his friends and foes alike, driving them mad and making them attack anything that wasn’t them. Buildings, people, even other monsters. It didn’t matter who you were, killing you would be their highest priority. No wonder the pony was so aggressive.

Luckily, whenever their host becomes of no use to them, they die on the host’s brain due to it no longer receiving energy, AKA malnutrition. However, the scent was stronger than it should be. Crystalmites are meant to molecular in size, only as big as bacteria individually. Could it be that they evolved to a larger form? It wasn’t impossible. But now that the threat had been eradicated, Godzilla needed this pony to be killed to stop it from attacking again. Who knows, this pony does look pretty evil on its own, with its liquorice black fur and triangular teeth. This pony couldn’t be possibly be on the good side. It was time to end it.

Opening his mouth, Godzilla began calculating the best part of the neck to bite into to crush his new enemy’s throat as efficiently as possible. But before he could sink his teeth in, an alien sound started to come from the limb pony. Suddenly, the teeth retracted in size into normal pony molars, the blue armour disappeared into thin air, and many other features began to shrink and deform as the pony’s true form was revealed.

A smaller, lighter coloured pony now lay in front of Godzilla, ironically looked more damaged now. Deep cuts and stuck out bones were now present where the armour had covered it, as well as many other kinds of gory wounds that if they were described to the viewer…

This story would get reported…big time…it’s that bad…and bloody…

Anyway (what a fourth wall breaker that was), Godzilla took a moment to look at this new form of the pony. It must be some kind of shape-shifter with multiple forms, much like Destroyah, or maybe just magic, who knows. Right now, he couldn’t help feel that this new look was a lot more…innocent. I didn’t appear as threatening as the other form it had taken on. Maybe it just did that for the scare factor.

Then suddenly, Godzilla faintly heard a soft noise a fair distance away behind him, making his ear twitch. The sound of several ponies running, and it was coming straight for his location. It was time to make his escape. Running might not be the best idea though, as his legs felt like they were going to explode from stress. He needed an alternate getaway, but what? And then it hit him.

“The wings, yes!”

It was so dangerous, it just might work: He would use his new wings to fly! And being somepony who’s never used wings before, that’s saying something. But Godzilla was no ordinary being when it came to getting used to new things. He was going to put all his might in his brain alone to concentrate on finding how to use these. He needed to hurry, the hoofsteps were getting closer, and it sounded big.

Godzilla remembered how flying Kaiju like Mothra, Rodan and more used their wings to fly, making the wings move in a way that curved and straightened to gain height and speed.

Godzilla began to move the wings up and down, careful too not add to much or too little force with each flap. Before he knew it, his powerful wings were hovering him above the ground, sending dust in different directions all over the place as he did. He worked into a pattern of movement he found comfortable with, and began to ascend into the sky.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back on the ground, Celestia and a large group of guards ran and flew through Ponyville to find Luna, unaware of her current status. They came to a fairly open clearing near some destroyed market stalls, and there she was. Crippled and curled up in the ruins of one of the stalls, you would have thought it was a lifeless corpse just lying there. At once Celestia ran over to her downed sister, holding her in her front legs and wings and snuggling her face into her.

“Oh…who would do something like this?” Celestia cried to herself.

She quickly looked up hearing a few “who’s that” from some of the guards behind. There, in the distance, was a large black pony who looked to be struggling to fly away properly. That must have been who had done this. Without hesitating, Celestia carefully lowered her sister down, before getting into a firing stance.

Gritting her teeth, she fired a long beam of godlike magic into the mysterious pony in the distance, who was now flying over the Everfree Forest. It slammed into his right wing, sending him spiralling down to the ground. During so, the pony gave a low, angry roar as he crashed, sending chills and uneasiness up the spines of the group, Celestia included.

“There is no way that that’s a normal pony.”

Spinning around to the guards, she gave them the orders.

“Right, you two, find that pony, capture him, and take him to Canterlot at once when you find him. Don’t hesitate to use force.”

The two guards nodded and dashed towards the forest.

“You four will take Princess Luna to the nearest medical centre. It is of top priority.”

Four of the said guards took hold of the moon princess and ran to where the nearest hospital must be, leaving only two guards left.

“And you two, go to Princess Twilight’s castle, get her to assemble the main 6, and escort them to Canterlot immediately.”

Things are about to get real.
