I'm the only one of my kind and I have no name. I was given only one mission objective by my Queen; to find love and affection then spread. I'm the first of many to begin bidding for her. She gave me this task because she knew I could do it. I just have to find one pony to take me in, and the revolution will begin. It's a sunshine filled day with no wind of any kind, the perfect day for flying with such a small body I have. My weak wings can't stand anything more than a breeze. I journey for my first objective, to find a kind pony for whom I could gain attention. I venture from my lovely home in the Everfree and journey outward, where the sky's are clear and blue. Suddenly I feel myself being dragged back by a sudden breeze, falling to the ground just behind a rock; where I spot the perfect host. A yellow pony with pink flowing mane just beyond the hill speaks to the forest animals, as if they can communicate fluently with one another. Of course I don't know how to speak or understand any other languages but my own squeals and squeaks. Here she comes. The pony trots near with a basket full of colorful, freshly picked flowers. I take this as my chance to reveal myself by letting out a soft squee. When I do so, I believe I frighten her. She curves her back in surprise, launching the basket of flowers into the air and landing close to me, then hides behind a bucket of apples. She slowly peaks her head out from behind the bucket as I crawl up onto the rock with my eyes closed. Once I reach the top I reveal my large green eyes to her, squee'ing once again and flapping my small meek wings, giving her the biggest smile I can conjure up. She kneels down to me, saying something I don't quite understand, but with her body expression, I can tell she's greeting me. While her speech doesn't get across to me, I do see something of interest. I take flight and hover around her, landing in front of a bright red apple. The pony steps forward and in response I back up a bit. The pony crushes the apple into a pile of apple mush, which doesn't interest me anymore so I turn around to the basket full of fresh ones and devour them without hesitation. My stomach now full – for now – I fly back to the pony, circling her once, then in attempt to win her over, I rub my plump round body into her mane and settle in as a sign of affection. My first mission objective is complete. She has completely abandoned her quest for flowers and apples and is now taking me somewhere with her. My stomach growls and I feel extremely sick for a moment. My mouth is forced open as two wads of flesh spew out into perfect balls. Me and my brethren are awoken when our host speaks again. It sounds like there are two other ponies just outside so I reveal myself first, then my two siblings. We hover around the room slowly as a purple pony comes fourth. My yellow sibling takes the opportunity to find a host of their own by landing on their hoof, which causes a positive reaction, ending up what seems to be a hug. A third pony leaves for the exit, while I settle back down onto my host and my brethren decide to join the purple pony. My host takes me to their home, where I continue my mission and multiply, bringing fourth my brethren to carry out the overall mission for my queen. By the morning of the next day, my clan has increased 100 fold. The yellow pony runs around frantically, trying to impose order and control over us but there are too many of us too handle. The door swings open and three ponies enter the room, one of them being the purple pony I encountered earlier. Then the three ponies have the rest of my kin within some kind of cells that are held upon their backs, but are soon released when we venture outside with the ponies. Now a new pony has entered the scene hauling a load of apples on her cart, which my brethren quickly devour. The ponies talk for a while until they find are chased by the ponies. They come together in small herds but are eventually brought together by a whole, forming a ball of my kind. Now they're being rolled along while being chased and lead by the ponies, including the pink pony that had left the day before. The balls and ponies disappear into the distance, while lucky for me, the yellow one had been kind and foolish enough to spare me, allowing me to multiply once again. Once the door to her home is open, my brethren and I escape. But unfortunately for us, one of the flying ponies forms a mini tornado, sucking us up one by one into the twister like some cruel joke. We spin for what seems to forever, forever stuck in an eternal circle. The pony causing the tornado is interrupted by two shining discs that fly through the air, almost striking them. The discs put her off track, thus severing her from the whirlwind, allowing us to break apart once again. We decide to escape these wretched creatures and make our way to a set of homes, where we then spread out, searching for food in order to continue spreading. Right before I finish off my findings, I feel a sudden disgust for it. Me and my kin hover motionless, staring at the morsels we now found repulsive. But now, something else seemed tasty. Me and my kin then discover our liking for material objects, devouring anything in sight; continuing to spread and multiply further. We devour and eat, leaving nothing behind but scraps and crumbs of wood. Screams of terror arise from the ponies, but we pay no attention and continue our ravage. But then; pleasant sounds. . . Sounds that soothe me. . . Sounds that enlighten me. . .And not just one sound, but a mixture of plenty. . . Coming together in a joyful tune. My kin and I are entranced by the delightful combination of sound coming from the pink pony. We hop and hop upon the ground, following the pink pony and her wonderful arrangement of music. We follow and we dance, all the way into the Everfree forest, where I originally came from. The music stops and we find ourselves out in the middle of the forest. Now is my chance to call upon the queen to see her new followers. I open my mouth wide and squee at the top of my lungs. Silence fills the air while my brethren stare into the sky. The queen fly's elegantly over the canopy of the trees and lands gracefully in front of us, her subjects. She then speaks to us in a language we can understand, but not a language we can speak. “My Subjects! You have been brought here today by a faithful and loyal kin. You are hungry and material food does not satisfy your appetite. That is because you do not feed on material objects as a means of self nourishment. We feed on love. And in the past two days you have experienced this love, only a little, but its still enough. I promise you, my loyal subjects, that if you follow me, you will be full and you will be happy. Now, If you decide to join me, you will undergo a magnificent transformation. The process takes patience and time within a cocoon, but when you come out, you will have the power to transform. I suspect that the town you came from, you have observed the ponies you have met. That is good, with that memory, you will be able to transform into them, and when we are ready, we will strike, and we will win, and we will feed,” Queen Chrysalis said. My kind and I squee'd in agreement and excitement. This is our purpose, this is why we exist, and we have officially completed phase one of our mission. Once we enter our green cocoons, we will transform. And we will enter our final form. [The end] This story is based on this picture
