> Pinkie Pie Sticks Her Face Through The Mirror > by Ephraim Blue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > World of Ponies > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie Pie wasn't really listening when Twilight was saying her goodbyes to everyone else. She was more focused on figuring out something since the last time she was here. Before Twilight left the previous time, her curiosity got the best of her to wonder what the other world looked like. Sure, Twilight had said that it was a world mostly inhabited by ponies, but that wasn't enough. She needed to see for herself, no matter what the consequence was. That's why she ran up to the mirror after her pony ears and tail disappeared; she needed to see. Unfortunately, the magic had already left the portal, and it had shut. She had slammed into it, saying, "Oh, bummer!" But when Twilight came back a few months later, she found her opportunity. When no one else was paying attention, she would find some way to see Twilight's world. Unfortunately, she couldn't find some time to sneak away because her friends always came first, and they needed her help to defeat the Dazzlings. But once the said Dazzlings were defeated and Twilight was about to head home, she had definitely found her opportunity. Everyone else was paying attention to Twilight when she had found a way behind her friend and closer to the portal. She giggled to herself. I can't believe it! I'm going to see what Twilight's world looks like! She paused for a second. Hang on... didn't Twilight say that we were her friends from the other world? She stared at the portal, showing her reflection staring back at her. Maybe that's why Twilight came alone... Her friends from the other world would cause some sort of space-time continuum and the other might cease to exist... Her reflection seemed to haunt her as she continued staring at it, and the world seemed to slow down for her. Maybe I shouldn't go through... I wouldn't want to ruin our worlds... Then another idea struck her, and she grinned her Pinkie Pie grin. It wouldn't hurt just to look, right? Certainly that won't cause any sort of alarm. I mean, who would be expecting me to peep through a magical mirror to another world? That'd just be silly! So without another thought on her mind, she stuck her face into the magical mirror. She was greeted with a swarm of colors around her, swirling around and around. The light was nearly too much, and she closed her eyes to dampen it, even though it still filtered through her eyelids. And in nearly and instant, the colors in her eyes stopped. Her eyes darted around her closed eyelids. Where did the colors go? she wondered. She thought that whatever it had been, she had arrived at Twilight's world. OOHH! I wonder what awaits me here! Slowly, she began to open her eyes. Standing in front of her, a little pink pony with a poofy mane staring straight back at her. She opened her mouth to speak, but stopped when it seemed to be different from before poking her head through the mirror. The pink mare in front of her giggled. "Silly me!" she said. "We wouldn't want to make Twilight freak out!" Her voice, Pinkie Pie thought. Her voice sounds familiar... But from where? Before she could think of a reasonable solution, the mare in front of her pointed out her hoof and pushed gently on her nose, pushing her back through the mirror. The colors returned to her eyesight, but she didn't close them this time. She pulled her head out of the mirror, but unexpectedly, her eyesight wasn't used to the slightly darker colors and shadows around her, and she became dazed. Who was that? she wondered. Her voice sounded so familiar! I'm certain I've heard it somewhere before! But she didn't have time to think. She moved back with her other friends, and watched Twilight leave through the portal to her world. I'll think about it later... she thought to herself. Maybe my friends will have an idea tomorrow at lunch. "So let me get this straight..." Rainbow began, pausing to chew on her food, "you stuck your head through the portal to Twilight's world..." "Yup!" Pinkie Pie replied excitedly. "...You were greeted by an array of colors before staring at a pink mare who said that we wouldn't want to make Twilight freak out..." "Yup!" "...You're certain you've heard her voice somewhere, but you don't know where?" "Yupperoo!" Rainbow stared blankly at her. "You sure you're not messing with me Pinkie?" Pinkie shrugged. "I dunno... I just know that I've heard her voice somewhere before! It's like I know exactly who she is, but I don't, ya know?" Rainbow laughed. "Oh man! This'll be a story to tell the girls!" As if on cue, the rest of them came up to the table the two of them were sitting at. "What're you two talking about?" Sunset Shimmer asked the two of them. "Get this!" Rainbow said, pointing at Pinkie. "Pinkie here stuck her face through the portal to Twilight's world and saw a pink mare, and doesn't know who she is!" Fluttershy stared at Rainbow. "Umm... I don't see how that's something to laugh at Rainbow..." she said in a whisper. But no one really paid attention to her. All her friends were staring at Sunset, who was trying her best not to laugh at the situation. "What's so funny Sugarcube?" Applejack asked her. Sunset didn't say anything, but instead motioned her friends, excluding Pinkie, over into a small group and she began to whisper among them. Soon after, they were all snickering and giggling like little kids. "What?" Pinkie asked when they came back. "N- Nothing Darling," Rarity said, still trying not to laugh. "What?!" Pinkie asked again, turning between all her friends and getting no response except giggles from any of them. Finally, Sunset stopped laughing long enough to give an answer. "I'll tell you later Pinkie. When we're heading home from school today, alright? We don't want you to cause a panic in here." Pinkie stared at her, trying to find a simple explanation on her face to what was going on. Finally, she sighed, giving in. "All right," she began, "I'll wait till after school. But you better have a good explanation for laughing then!" Sunset chuckled again. "Oh don't worry... You'll find it funny too." Sunset stared at Pinkie rolling on the sidewalk, rolling in laughter. "O- Oh! That's is too funny! How could I have been so stupid?!" She continued laughing, not noticing Sunset's smile plastered on her face, which was shaking from side to side with her hands on her hips.
