It’s been three years since you and Night Watch started dating, and those three years have been the best three years of your life. Because every time you opened yours eye would would be greeted with a beautiful sight of Night Watch sleeping next to you with a little smile on her face. Everytime she wasn't at work the two of you would spend the whole day together talking, cuddling, a few naughty stuff here and there.
And today was no different.
The sun ray through the curtains hit your face making the darkness slowly disappear as you open your eyes. You sit up and stretch to prevent cramps. After the quick stretch and a little yawn you fall back down onto your pillow and sigh with comfort.
You then hear the sound of something moving beside you. With a slow turn of your head a smile slaps onto your face.
Laying next to you is the most important pony in your life right now and hopefully forever, Night Watch.
You’ll never forget the way you met her, waking up with a broken leg and having her take care of you. You can’t help but smile every time you think back to that. It’s crazy to think that if you didn't take the turn in the alley when you were being chased by some thugs you would have never of met Night Watch.
You extend your wing underneath her and pull her close to you and give her a little kiss on the forehead which makes a small smile appeared on her face and snuggles into you.
Night Watch’s eyelids start to twitch and open slowly. Her eyes look around the room and then look up to you and her smile gets bigger.
“Morning gorgeous” you greet her
“Morning sweetie” She greets you back and give you a quick kiss on the lips
“Sleep well?”
“mmhmm” she said nodding her head “But you know what would make it better?”
“What?”
As her face gets closer and closer to yours you some inappropriate thoughts start to run through your mind. When suddenly she backs off.
“Some pancakes”
You groan slightly and say “But that requires me to get off the bed”
“Please!” Night Watch pleads with begging eyes
“Ugghh! fine” you say then giving her a little kiss on the lips then rolling off the bed.
You exit the bedroom and head towards the kitchen. As time passes the pancake start to rise and become nice a soft so that it will be a unbelievable explosion in your mouth. As you place one pancake on a plate Night Watch steps out of the bedroom and come towards you.
“What do you think?” you ask referring to the pancakes
“Mmmh! looks good” she says as she walks past you “And I’m not talking about the pancakes”
You wonder what she meant by that when suddenly you feel your behind get slapped. You turn to Night Watch and she gives you a wink in which you blush a little bit
“So are you ready for tonight?”
“What?”
“The Guards Ball remember” She says unamused
“Oh yeah right!” you say remembering what she said a couple of days ago “I’m looking forward to it”
“Really?” Night Watch asks “You do know that all the ponies there are all guards right?”
“Yeah, obviously” you say lively, bold and cheeky as possible
“HEY! don’t get sassy with me!” Night Watch said with anger. There’s only one thing that gets on her nerves is when you put any sass into your voice
“Okay Im sorry” you said trying to hold in a little giggle “So anyway your pancakes are done” you continue sliding the plate to her
“Oh, thank you” she says as she grab the plate and give you a kiss on the cheek Night Watch heads to the table while you start to cook up another batch of pancakes for yourself. You can tell that Night Watch is enjoying the pancakes because you can a moan of joy come from her mouth.
“Oh by the way” she says after finishing a mouth full and pancakes “Since the ponies there are all guards I don’t want you to doing any shenanigans, got it! cause I don’t want you to embarrass me in front of everyone”
“Oh come, babe, would I really do anything to embarrass you?”
“Yes you would!”
“That’s what a boyfriend is supposed to do!” you say defensively
“CASS! I SWEAR IF YOU EMBARRASS ME I WILL BREAK YOUR LEG AGAIN!” She shouts jumping out the chair
You flinch a little because you don’t want to go through the pain of breaking your leg again. With a sigh you say “Fine, I won’t embarrass you.”
“Thank you” Night Watch says and then sits back down “Your pancakes burnt by the way”
You look over to the pan to see that she was right
“Aww damn it”

The moon has risen and the stars have come out to shine there beauty to the world. You’re looking out the window waiting for Night Watch to get finish getting changed. You walk over to the mirror to make sure that your tie is straight and make sure that your suit hasn't got any stains. Hoofsteps are heard behind you, so you turn around to see Night Watch standing there in her dress.
“What do you think?”
“You look beautiful” you answer
“Really? you’re not just saying that are you?”
“I mean it” you say giving her a smile. you then look at the clock to see that it’s almost time to go “Come on we got to go”
Yourself and Night Watch head towards the door, you open it and let her go out first. Once you’re both outside you both flap your wings and head to the skies. On the way to the castle you notice that Night Watch starts to get more nervous you ask her why she’s so nervous but she refuses to tell you. You even try to make conversation hoping that she’ll tell you why she’s nervous by accident, but It didn't work.
Once reaching the castle the guard recognizes Night Watch and lest you in. When you’re inside you are instantly giving a glass of champagne, a part of you just wanted to down it but you see how fancy everyone is you decide not to.
You turn to Night Watch to see that she’s still nervous so you say “Seriously what are you so nervous about?”
“It’s… it’s… ermm” She suddenly stops and hides behind you slightly “It’s her” she said in a fangirl-ish tone
You look to where she’s pointing and you she a slightly elderly mare talking to many different ponies.
“Who’s that?” you ask
“Thats Gloom Wing, she’s one of the best female night guard the castle has ever seen, she my idol” she explains
“So go over there a talk to her”
“What!” Night Watch shout with shook “I can’t just go over there and talk to her!”
“Yeah you can. Watch!” you say with a slight smirk
Night Watch was about to ask you what you meant but walked away heading towards Gloom Wing. As you get closer and closer you can no longer hear Night Watch calling for you to come back.
“Excuse me, Ms Gloom Wing” you speak out as she just finished a conversation with some other ponie.
“Yes?” She says greeting you with a smile
“Hi, My name is Cass and I just wanted to tell you my girlfriend, Night Watch, is a huge fan of yours”
“Well I am very honored” she said happily “Where is your girlfriend?
“She over there” you say as you point to Night Watch
“What is she doing over there?”
“She get very VERY nerious meeting her idols.” you guessed, since this is the first time you’ve seen her like this.
“Thats adorable” she giggles “Well bring her over here”
You turn to Night Watch and motion your hoofs as a signal for her to come over. She slowly walks towards you and Gloom Wing slowly. As she get closer her eyes start to focus on the floor. I was really quite cute to see Night Watch slowly make her way over.
“Well you must Night Watch” Gloom Wing says which Night nods her head “You know I’ve actually heard a lot about you”
This makes Night Watch ears perk up “Y-You… You have?”
“Yep! Some of the captains said that you’re a very hard worker” She said with a smile “In Fact at the pace you’re going I have no doubt that you’ll become a captain!”
You look over at Night Watch to see her pupils getting bigger and her mouth forming into a huge smile. You can tell that the those words from her idol will be in your mind forever.
“So”, you speak up “Should I get you ladies some more drinks?”
“Yes please.” they both replied
With a nod you walk to the bar leaving your girlfriend and her idol to chat more. After giving your order to the bartender you wait patiently for your drinks when suddenly two taller stallions come over to you.
“You’re Cass right?” One of them say, in which you respond with a simple ‘yeah’
“Well it’s nice to meet ya’.” The other says “I’m Captain Moon Side and this is my Co-Captain Dim Cloud”
“Nice to meet you too”
“So how have you and Night Watch been?” Ask Dim
“We're still going strong” you say proudly
“So have you vulcanize the whoopee stick In the ham wallet?” whispers Dim
“Are you asking if I had sex with Night Watch?” you say unamused
“Yes I am”
“Then the answer is yes”
“Nice,” he says raising his hoof for a hoof bump, which you accept “She’s not my type but she is hot.”
“You did very good for yourself” Moon Side speaks up “She’s very good at what she does” he continues looking at Night Watch
“Yeah I know, I’m very lucky I found her.”
“Here are you drinks sir.” the bartender says interrupting your conversation with the two guards
“Well we’ll let you get back to your girlfriend.” says the captain “Have a good night!” he says before him and his co-captain walk off.
You grab the tray which hold the drinks and head towards the direction to where Night Watch and Gloom Wing are standing and still talking. As soon as you reach them they take the drink with a thank you and continue their conversation.

You were woken up by the sound of knocking on the front door. You lift your head off the pillow and stare at the door of the bedroom. You turn your head to see Night Watch still sleeping beside you. More knocks come from the door which cause Night Watch to wake up slightly and say “Can you get that”
You roll of the bed still very tired and wobble over to the bedroom door which you open. You head to the cause of the knocking coming from the front door. Your legs are still asleep so it takes awhile to get to the door.
Finally you open the door to see Captain Moon Side standing there.
“Hello Cass” he greet you “Still tired are you?”, you reply with a yawn and a nod
“What can I help you with?” you ask drowsily
“Cass!” a voice comes from the bedroom “Who is it?”, Night Watch come out of the bedroom rubbing her eyes to wake herself up “OH! Captain Moon Side! what are you here for?”
“I need to discuss work with you”
“Oh okay” She says walking toward the door “Cass can you leave us alone for while”
“So does that mean I can go back to sleep?”
“Oh course sweetie” she says sweetly
You smile at her and then walk back to the bedroom happily. As soon as you get into the bedroom you jump straight onto the bed and let out a sigh of happiness.
As you sleep you can kind of here the conversation in the next room. But the only voice that you can hear is Night Watch saying
“I’ve wanted… you for a while… I can’t believe this is happening”
You lay in bed in shock and anger of what you just heard coming from the other room.
I can’t believe she would do something like this! Would she do this? Would she just throw away three years like that?
“Anyway thanks for coming over captain.” Night Watch
It takes awhile for the door to shut but once it does, you roll over so you're facing the bedroom door and wait. Once you’ve decided that an appropriate amount of time has past you get off the bed and open the door.
Once you're outside the bedroom, you see Night Watch in the kitchen with her back to you, humming to herself as she cleans the kitchen counter. You walk towards the sofa to read the newspaper, but your hoofsteps catch the attention of Night Watch and she turn around to face you.
“Hey hot stuff.” She greets you, to which you ignore “Hey! Babe?!”
Once you sit on the sofa you grab the newspaper and start to read it, but you were only able to read a few words before the paper was knocked out of your hooves.
“Hey! I was talking to you!” Night Watch says, obviously annoyed.
“Oh! You were referring to me as ‘hot stuff’.”
“Well yeah, who else was I referring to?”
“I dunno, your captain maybe!” you say very loudly.
“What are you talking about?”
“Don’t act like you don’t know what you did. I’m not stupid.”
“What?!” She says
“I mean as big and strong he is I can’t see why you wouldn't love him” You say, turning away from her “I mean even his eyes ar-”
Before you’re able to finish your sentence you are tackled to the floor with Night Watch standing over you.
“What are you talking about!?” Night Watch shouts in your face, her mouth contorted into a harsh glare, directed at you.
“I heard you two! What he was saying to you!”
“We weren’t doing anything! he was trying to tell me that I have been promoted!”
“Like tartarus! He was going on about he couldn’t believe what was happening, how he wanted it for awhile, not you getting a promotion!” you look up at her, glaring daggers back at her, all the while you didn’t even realize a paper on the counter that Night Watch quickly goes to grab and shove into your face
“Right here! Read right here!” She shouts, shoving it in your face. “He said he wanted to give me this for a while!” Looking at it you can manage to make out where her hoof is pointing to, a large line of text in black ink bright as day reading:
“We are delighted to inform you, Night Watch, of your promotion to Captain of the Royal Night Guard. Congratulations!”
You suddenly feel like a piece of shit, for a very good reason, as she gets up off of you and starts to walk to the bedroom, leaving you and the paper of truth on the floor. You quickly scramble to your hooves as you try to apologise to her.
“N-Night Watch…. I-I’m so sorr-”
“No! I’m not hearing it!” she cuts you off, storming into the bedroom and slamming the door behind her.
You sit back down on the sofa and put you face in your hoofs. You’ve never been so angry with yourself in your entire life. After a short while of mentally beating yourself up, you look to the bedroom door and begin a slow trot towards it.
Once you reach the door you place your forehead on it and start to think of how you’re going to apologise. Your heart starts to crumble as you can faintly hear Night Watch sobbing. You just can’t stand the sound of Night Watch crying so you knock on the door a fewa times.
“Night Watch?”, no reply “Night Watch… baby…”, still no answer.
You slowly open the door to see her sitting on the far end of the bed, which is her side anyway. You walk over to her slowly to which she doesn’t acknowledge you.
“Night… I… I’m so sorry” you say “I… I shouldn’t of jumped to conclusions… I…” you couldn't finish your sentence because you start to choke on your own words, as your eyes start to tear up you end up silently weeping into your own hooves.
There was a long silence as you struggled to get your next words out, all the while your tears are running freely down your face.
“Why?” Night Watch finally says.
“W-What?”
“Why would you think such a thing?” she says with anger and sadness filling her voice, as she turns towards you, you can see her eyes, bright red and puffy from crying “Why?”
Your body is trembling from mental pain and sorrow, your mouth quivers, trying to hold back from saying anything that could make this whole situation so much worse than it already had become.
“I… I… I just don’t want to lose you. It’s been a little over three years since you found me, and… and I was terrified of losing you to someone else. I mean heck, even I questioned myself when i misheard whatever he was saying to you, but, I couldn’t chance it. I love you too much for that and I-” you couldn’t finish your sentence once again, but this time it was because a pair of lips locked with yours, cutting off whatever other sappy stuff you had to say.
The kiss ended quick, with Night Watch pulling back and locking eyes with you. You find yourself getting lost in her beautiful pink eyes again, like you always do, as she says quietly, but just audibly, “I love you and only you, don’t ever forget that.” She leans in and hugs you tight, and you can’t help but hug back.
After a hug that felt like an eternity, you both look each other in the eyes, a smile upon both your faces, and share another quick kiss. You notice a tear starting to roll down her face, so you wipe it away for her and give a little kiss on the forehead.
“I’m so proud of you” you say.
“For what?” she says, wiping her eyes.
“You got promoted!” you say happily, in which she looked away in a blush “So, I think we should go out and celebrate.”
“A-Are you sure. I mean we just had a massive fight.”
“Yeah. I’m sure. I owe you that much. So what do you wanna do? Go to a fancy restaurant for dinner, have a walk around town, or we could just stay here and relax. We can do anything you want tonight.”
Night Watch puts her hoof to her chin and starts to think about what she wants to do. After a minute of thinking she says “Lets go on a walk.”
“Really?” you say stunned “I’m giving you a chance to go to the fanciest restaurant in town.”
“Don’t worry. I know a spot that only I know about, and you will love it” she says softly and walking past you. “So come on, lets go.”
You follow her out of the house and into town. Neither of you said anything the whole time you were walking through the town. You wanted to ask many times where she was taking you but you know that her answer would be, “you’re just gonna have to wait and see.”
She took you to the edge of the town, then extended her wings and flew into the air, which you proceed to the same. You follow her, flying over many trees, looking out into the darkness beneath you, you spot out a small glow in the distance, to which she flies over to and begins her descent above. You look down at it, it’s a small clearing with what seems to be a pond, when you touch down, you feel at peace, the whole area welcoming you in.
“This is my favorite place to go when I’m feeling down, it has an effect that cheers me right up” she says to you, but you’re too lost in the beauty to hear her.
There are a few trees that you identify as weeping willow trees, swaying in the breeze, the pond, now looking like a small lake, adorned the middle of the clearing, lily pads decorating the surface with many small creatures around, living their lives like normal. However, as if calling to you, you looked up to see an uncountable amount of lightning bugs lighting up the whole area, watching over them.
“Hey, Equestria to Cass? you there?” Night watch is now waving her hoof in front of your face, to which you acknowledge her.
“Y-yea. Where did you find this place? It’s amazing” you say, still awe-struck at the sight.
“I found it about three years ago, when you had to leave after your leg healed up. I was so upset I just flew and flew, and then I found this place, it… called for me, welcomed me, and it helped me. So, after I found this place I decided to go back to your apartment and… well, you know the rest.”
You lay back on the grass, feeling the breeze through your fur. “Come here, lay with me” you say to her. As she does so, you wrap your forearm around her neck, and pull her close. She nuzzles your neck which makes you chuckle a little since you were kind of ticklish there.
After a little nuzzle fight you both look up at the night sky and watch the stars holding on another in each others arms. After awhile you start to notice that the lighting bugs start to form a heart up above you.
“... thats got to be coincidence… right?” You ask, looking Night Watch.
“I don’t know” She says looking up at the bugs “but it’s so beautiful.”
As you look at Night Watch, who’s looking up at the sky you just can't believe that you managed to keep a girl like her for so long. Just thinking about how happy she makes you everytime you see her makes you realise that you want to spend the rest of your life with her.
“Hey!” Night Watch says waving her hoof in your face again “You’ve been zoning out recently. Is something wrong?”
“Huh? oh it’s nothing, don’t worry” you say giving her a reassuring smile.
After what feel like hours of looking up at the constellations, you see a shooting star go by in the night sky.
“Quick, make a wish!” you say, after pointing it out to her, as you both close your eyes and think of a good wish. I wish that i’ll never have to leave you. You wish to yourself, and as you look over at Night Watch, her eyes are clamped shut… must be a pretty big wish.
It must have taken at least three minutes before she opened her eyes again.
“That looked like a pretty long wish” you say mockingly.
“Yeah, well it was a long wish.”
“What was it?” you ask.
“I’m not gonna tell you otherwise it won’t come true.” She says, poking you in the shoulder
After spending more time cuddling and look up at the stars, Night watch uses her hoof to turn your head to bring you face to face with her, as she leans in, she whispers “I love you.”
To which you reply, “I love you too.” She started to lean in, and you met her halfway, plating your lips on hers, as you two kiss under the stars in bliss, completely unaware of an unknown presence, one that’s been stalking you two since you first left home.
“The time grows close” it mutters… before sinking back into the shadows it once came from.
After you and Night Watch got back to the house, you instantly flopped on to the sofa and let out a relaxed sigh. All of a sudden you feel a familiar weight come crashing down on you. You close your eyes from the impact of the weight, when you open one eye you see Night Watch laying on top of you.
“Geez… do you have to abuse me all the time?” you say jokingly.
“Hey, someone's got to keep you from misbehaving.” She replies with a giggle.
“When do I ever misbehave?”
“All the time,” Night Watch says giving you a quick kiss and laying her head on your chest.
You roll your eyes at that statement and give Night Watch a quick peck on the head. Soon however, you notice that her eyes are closed, and has quickly drifted off to sleep… right on top of you. You roll your eyes again with a sigh and try to get her off, but you know it’s not going to happen, considering she wrapped herself around you.
With a quick chuckle at how cute the sight was, even though you’ve seen it hundreds of times before, you close your eyes, and lay your head back, ready to catch a few Z’s.

A sudden loud knock on the door wakes you up. You groggily look down to your chest to see that Night is still fast asleep. You’ve tried a number of times to get her off you, but she wasn't going to let go of you anytime soon.
Knocks came from the door again, waking you up completely. You can tell the pony behind it is getting impatient. But then you see that the door isn't fully shut. Dammit.. Night Watch didn't shut the door properly again...
“Doors open!” you say loudly, making Night Watch ster abit.
The door opens slowly revealing Captain Moon Side. Once he noticed You and Night Watch on the sofa a chuckles a little.
“Good morning.” He says.
“Mornin’.”
“Is she still asleep?” Moon Side ask quietly, which you respond with a nod. “Have you two slept on the sofa all night?”
“Yeah pretty much.”
“So how have you been, Cass?” He asked before sitting in the arm chair.
“Ehh.. I’ve been good,” you say, “I kinda had a big argument with this one though.” You continue looking at Night Watch, stroking her mane slowly. “But we got through it.”
“Really?” He said with interest. “What did you guys argue about?”
“I’d rather not talk about it.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s personal business.” You say starting to get annoyed.
“Alright, fine.”
“Is there a reason for why you came here?” you ask looking at him.
“Oh, I just needed to talk to Night Watch”
“About what?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.
“Just work related business.” He shrugs and relaxes on the chair “Its just going over the basic of being a captain and all the responsibilities.”
“Well you’re going to have to wait for a while,” you say, looking over a Night Watch who is still asleep, you can tell by the look on her face that she is in a deep sleep, also the drool dripping from the corner of her mouth is enough to tell.
“I don’t mind,” He says getting more relaxed into the chair, Yeah.. well I kinda do
You two sit in silence for awhile waiting for Night Watch to wake up from her slumber. You've pretty much tried everything to try and wake her up, such as trying to move her, shaking her and poking her face but nothing seems to work. I could pinch her nose… no, no, that’s a last resort.
“Hey, Cass. You got a job yet?”
You turn your head over to the captain and look at him in shock from the random question.
“Uhh.. No, I haven’t yet.”
“Ohh.”
“Why do you ask?”
“Well,” he starts sitting up on the chair “it seems a little embarrassing that your girlfriend is bringing in more money than you.”
“Why would that be embarrassing?”
“It kind of shows who wears the horseshoes in the relationship.”
This started to frustrated you a bit. The fact that he asked you if you had a job didn't bother you at first, but when he brought your relationship into the conversation, that’s when your frustration started to build.
“I mean… if I was in a relationship I would want to be the one who brought the money in,” He said continuing his statement.
“Hmpm… ass,” you say under your breath looking down and stroking Night Watch's mane.
Apparently he was able to hear you and sits up on the chair a looks at with a slight angry look. “What did you just say?”
You look over at him and say, “Huh? oh.. nothing,” you then look down again but speak louder so he can hear. “Just saying how much of a cock you are.”
“Oh Yeah!” He says standing up a look down at you, because you’re still laying down on the sofa “Why don’t you stand up and say that to my face! or is your girlfriend to heavy for your little body to handle.”
You use a small amount of force as you get Night Watch off you and gentle put her down on the sofa. You then turn around to look at the captain, you still had to look up since he is taller than you by a few inches.
“I said you’re a mule who is too wrapped up in his own ego!” You yell look straight into his eyes.
“OH! is that so?! I have a stable job, what do you have? Your girlfriend bringing the bits.” He said hoping that It would strike a nerve… but it didn't, “and my parents actually loved me and my mother didn't abandon me!”
Now that struck a nerve. It was true your parents didn't care for you much, they wouldn't acknowledge your existence sometimes and it didn’t take long until your own mother left you with your dad. The only time they would pay attention to you was when they were either angry or drunk.
“Don’t you DARE TALK ABOUT MY FAMILY!” you shout giving him the death stare “I MAY NOT OF HAD THE BEST FAMILY IN THE WORLD! BUT AT LEAST I’M SORTED NOW! UNLIKE YOU!”
He looks at you with confusion “Did you not hear what I just said?!”
“Oh I heard you! Good job blah blah blah and all that shit! But I’ve got a girlfriend who loves me.” You say giving a slight smile from the look on his face “What do you have? nothing! You go around chasing girls who don’t even glance at you!”
He doesn't even say anything he just looks away and looks at Night Watch. You stare at him for while until your brain finally clicks… He… he has a crush on Night Watch!
“OHHHhhh!” you say catching his attention
“W-What?”
“I know how it is. You’re chasing someone you know you can’t have!”
“I AM NOT!” He shouts “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
“OHH PLEASE! I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE-”
“ENOUGH!!!” A voice shouts behind you two, ending the conversation immediately.
You both look over to see Night Watch standing on the sofa, giving you both a look of anger. You have never seen her this angry before.
“I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF ALL THIS NOISE OUT OF YOU TWO!” she says getting off the couch and standing in between the two of you. She then turn to look at her captain “Look, I appreciate the concern of our finance but we are fine with the money that I’m making.”
Moon Side was about to object but he just sighed and said “Okay. I’m Sorry.”
“And you!” Night watch said turning towards you. “I want you to apologize to Moon Side”
“Why?” You say quickly.
“What do you mean why?”
“What do I need to apologize for?”
For yelling at him and calling him an ass and a cock.” Night Watch says giving you a glare, to which you just roll your eyes and look away from the both of them.
There was a bit of a silence until Night Watch shouts “NOW, CASS!” which makes you jump slightly as it was just so sudden. You give Night Watch another ‘I not going to’ look but she backfired with ‘You better do it if you don’t want your leg broken again’. You roll your eyes again and look at Moon.
“I’m sorry”
“I accept your apology.” He says
“So was there something that you wanted to talk to me about, sir?” Night Watch asks turning towards him
“I just came to to explain what you’ll be doing as a captain… but after what happened I think we should go over it tomorrow.” He says before walking to the door.
“NO!” Night Watch says “I want to know it now so I’ll know what I’ll be doing tomorrow”
“Well.. okay..” Moon Side says slowly “But it’s going to take a while.” He then comes back to the sofa. “But I really feel like I’m not welcome” He says looking at you, You give him an slightly angry face.
Night Watch looks at you with disapproving face and looks back at her captain “Ohh don’t worry about it. Take a seat”. He nods and does what she tells him. “Hey, Cass” Night Watch say turning towards you “Can you make us some tea?”, knowing how angry you are she gives you a cute little smile.
You just give a sigh and walk towards to kitchen but before you do Night Watch wrapped her arms around your neck and gave you a quick kiss on the cheek, obviously trying to calm you down a bit.
As you walk into the kitchen you grab three cups, three tea bags and put the kettle on. You pretty much chucked the tea bag into the cup, because you were still angry. After the water was boiled you poured it into the cups, and grab some milk from the fridge. Once the tea was made you you grab two of the cups and bring them back the front room and placed them in front of Night Watch and Moon Side.
“Thank you, Sweetie.” Night Watch say grabbing her cup
“Thanks, Cass.” The Captain said grabbing his.
“You’re Welcome” You say looking at Moon … Prick You say to yourself as you went back to the kitchen to grab your cup.

As your girlfriend and Moon Watch talked about what the duties of being a Captain are, you sat next to Night Watch, reading the newspaper at least trying to pay attention to what was being said, because it was quite interesting.
“And that pretty much it.” Moon Side said finishing up.
“Okay. I completely understand what needs to be done.” Night Watch says smiling.
“I know you’ll be a great Captain.” said Moon, You roll your eye from that kiss ass remark.
“So, are there any questions you have?” Asks Captain Side
Night puts her hoof to her chin and starts to think “NNNNope! Every question I was going to ask has been answered.”
“Well that great. I’ve got to head off but-”
“I got a question!” You interrupt Moon Side and slamming the paper down on the coffee table.
“Cass.. please.” Night Watch says grabbing your arm.
“I-It’s okay.” Moon Side said smiling. “What's your question?”
“How did you know my mother abandoned me?!” You say angry.
Night Watch quickly grabs your arm tighter while whispering, “Cass… don’t… please.”
“Well… ermm… you see…” He says trailing off screaching the back of his neck trying to think of an excuse “I just-”
“If you say ‘it was a lucky guess’, I’m gonna break your wing!” You say, which makes Night Watch look at you with pure shock and anger.
“Because you said it very confidently like you knew that my mother abandoned me.” Moon Side starts looking around the room still looking for a new excuse “Because I’ve never told anyone about my foal hood, not even Night Watch! So TELL ME HOW YOU KNEW!” you shout getting up from the sofa and starting dead eyes at Moon Side.
“CASS! STOP!” Night Watch says getting in front of you.
“NO! NIGHT WATCH!” you say the flying over her and landing in front of the captain “TELL ME HOW YOU KNEW!"
“CASS STOP IT!” Night Watch screams grabbing you and tries to pull you away from Moon Side, but to know avail.
“I went through your file…. what does it matter?”
“WHAT DOES IT MATTER!” You shout in his face “Did you really just fucking say that?!!”
“CASS!” Night Watch screams still trying to pull you away. “STOP!”
“The fact that you went through a file, MY PERSONAL FILE, and read up about me to probably use for whatever reason means NOTHING?!” Some silents falls and you’re waiting for him to explain why he went through your file. Moon Side slowly looks at you and says, “Because I wanted to protect Night Watch…”
“From what?! What could you possibly protect her from? we are perfectly fine!” you say raising an eyebrow in anger, while Night Watch looks from you to her Captain with curiosity.
It didn't take long him to shout “To protect her from you!”
You and Night Watch look at Moon Side in shock. You very little idea of what he’s talking about and you hope that he doesn’t say it.
“W-What do you mean?” Night Watch says scared not wanting to know.
“He hasn’t told you?” Moon asks, to which she shakes her head. “I thought so” he then looks at you “You didn’t tell her about your mother abandoning you and you haven’t told her about what you did when you were younger” he then begins to walk closer to you “What else could you be hiding?”
“What is he talking about, Cass?!” Night Watch asked still in a scared tone.
“I stole some stuff as a kid…so what?”
“No, Cass. I’m talking about the other thing,” he said with a smirk.
“What?” Said Night Watch.
“And I think you need to pay the price” Moon continues.
“Fuck you! I did my time, I paid my debt and the stallion forgave me,” you say with anger.
“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!” Night Watch shouts.
“I think you should tell her,” Moon Shine says with a smug little grin, know that this could ruin your relationship.
You look at Moon Shine with a scowl and then turn to Night Watch who has a worried look and some tears forming in her eyes.
With a sigh you begin to tell her your story “A couple of years ago…back in Canterlot...I-I assaulted a stallion that put him in a coma….”

The moon was high and rain was falling down. You were walking down a dim lit pathway back to your crummy apartment, keeping your thoughts to yourself you bump into a figure that knocks you down.
“HEY! Watch where you’re going kid!” The figure said.
“Watch where I’m going?!” You say getting back onto your hooves. “Why don’t you open your eyes for once!”
You can see clearer that the figure was older than you but was about the same height and build “Listen kid!” He said “Why don’t you just fuck off and go home before you get yourself into trouble.”
“How about you get the hell out of my way before send you to the ground!”
“Is that a threat you little punk!” He shouted, pushing you heavily.
“It is! Of a matter of fact!” You say pushing him back with equal force.
Before you had time to react, his hoof raised up and clocked you on the side of the mouth. You fell to the ground again and spit out some blood. Without wiping the blood away you quickly get up and tackle him to the ground.
“You fucked up now!” You shout before giving him a swift jab to the nose, blood quickly flowing out, staining the stallion’s fur.
He then kicks you in the stomach, taking the breath out of you. Then he uppercuts you, catching you in the chin, which sends you landing on your back.
The stallion gets up and looks down at you, blood dripping from his nose. He then picks you up so that he can knock you down again. But before he could do that you give him a quick headbutt to his already broken nose.
He stumbles back in pain and you tackle him to the ground again. You then then start to punch him again and again and again. Blood then starts to pour out of his face, and without realizing it, you knock him out.
After sitting on top of his unmoving body for about a minute, you start to realize what you did. as you stare at his bloodied body, you notice that his breathing has gotten very shallow. Usually you would start running, but something tells you that you need to get him to a hospital…even if it could get you into some serious trouble.
You quickly get up and lift up his body with all the strength you have left and place him on your back, as you begin your long walk. After what seemed like forever, you finally made it to the nearest hospital.
When you walk through the door you scream, “MEDIC!! DOCTOR!! NURSE!! SOMEBODY HELP!!”
Everyone who was waiting in the lobby turned to you and gasped to what they saw on your back. Every nurse in the room ran over to you and helped the stallion off your back and onto a nearby stretcher.
As they start to roll him down the hall you tried to follow them but you were stopped by a nurse.
“What happened to the both of you?!” She shouts at you, clearly disturbed by the sight of you both.
Now, normally you would have made some stupid excuse...but again something inside of you made you tell the truth.
“We… We got into a fight” you say.
“So you were attacked?!”
“Y…. No… W-we were fighting each other.” you say nervously.
The nurse looks back in shock and doesn’t have anything to say, to which you stand there in silence, until the nurse says, “come on. Lets get you fixed up.”
-- Present Day --
“So after that she took me to the ER and fixed me up. I wanted to see if the guy was okay but they wouldn’t let me see him.” you explain, “before I knew what was happening the police was called in and took me away. I was then put on trial for assault and given 5 years sentence… but I got out in 2 for good behavior.”
After telling your little story you look over at Night Watch who is in utter shock and disbelieve. While Moon Side still has that little smug look on his face.
“You heard my story, make of it what you will.” You say, shooting an angry glare at the smug Moon Side, before quickly exiting to the bedroom, slamming the door shut behind you.
“Good riddance.” Moon Side says, before going to Night Watch, still in shock, “If you want to leave this criminal behind, you know where to find me.” He says, also leaving the home quietly, leaving a stunned Night Watch standing in the middle of the living room.
Night Watch sat on the couch in shock from what she just heard. Cass, the love of her life, went to jail for assault. She couldn’t believe that a such a sweet cult like him did a thing like that. But then again.. that was 6 years ago and he grew up in a very tough part of the city.
Night Watch turned her head toward the bedroom door that Cass had stormed into. With a sigh she walked towards the door stood in front of it and began to knock on it…. No answer… she knocked one more time… still no answer.
With another sigh she began to speak “Cass… I know you probably want to be alone right now, and I don’t blame you. But Cass, I need you to know this what you did was 6 years ago, doesn’t change a thing! I still love you with all my heart and that will never change! You were young and scared back then. And I don’t blame you for keeping this a secret… I would want to forget about it as well. So can you please come out so that we can talk about this?”
A couple of second went past but still no answer. Night Watch took a deep breath and grabbed to door handle, twisted it and pushed it open
“Cass?” She asked as the door opens. With a quick look around the room he was nowhere to be seen “Cass?!” She asked again in shock with her eyes still darting around the room.
With her eyes still scanning the room she noticed to the window was wide open. Night Watched rushed to the window to look around side to see with there was any of her coltfriend “CASS!!” she shouts again out of the window.

You walk through the forest near your home, kicking small stones and snapping twigs as you walk past them trying to get your anger out. As you walk you mumble to yourself
“That stupid, arrogant, self centered, self loving, egomatic, S.O.B, prick! Who the hell does he think he is!”
You continue to walk with your head down as you still continue to curse to your hearts content. As you walk you bump head first into a tree
“OW!!” You shout as you rub your head “Stupid tree” You say as you look up and down the trunk of the big wooden perennial plant.With a shake of your head you walk around it to continue your thought, but only to stop.
You get another rush of anger flowing through your body thinking about what happened with Moon Side. In an outburst of rage you pull your hind legs back and, with a grunt, kick the tree as hard as you can, making it shake in the process. With a couple more kicks to the tree you sit down to catch you breath from that small fit of rage. “That felt good” You say with a satisfied sigh.
You stay sitting down for a couple of minutes until you regained your breath and stand up to continue on your walk.
As you’re walking you realise that you have no clue where you’ve wandered of to. You look around to see if you can see anything familiar but nothing rings a bell.
“Awhh damn it” you say as your ear drop to the side of you head
With another sigh you extend your wings and flap them to lift you high of the ground and above the trees. You look around to see nothing but an endless forest of dark tree. Of in a distance you see a small building. With a squint of your eyes you can just make out the building as the clock of Callingwood
“Wow I am out further then I though” you think to yourself and you hover in the air with you arm crossed.
Suddenly the sky above starts to turn slightly orange and gradually starts to get darker. With your arms still crossed you turn yourself around to see the sun is starting to go down. For a while your mind just goes blank as you watch the big ball of gas slowly goes down.
Then suddenly a thought just dawned on you… you didn’t say anything to Night Watch before leaving
“OH CRAP!!”

Night Watch paced around the house waiting for Cass to walk through the front door. As time ticks on, and the sun goes down, she starts to gets more and more worried as she starts to think that something terrible could've happened to him. Not wanting to wait to find out see rushes out the door and into the street looking for someone to help her.
As she runs through the street she spots a pony that could possible help her. The co-captain to Moon Side, Dim Cloud, who happens to be on watch duty tonight.
“DIM CLOUD!” Night Watch shouts as she runs towards him
“Woah! Night Watch?! What's going on? Are you alright?” He asks as Night Watch stops in front of him
“No I’m not alright!” She says “It’s Cass! He left this Afternoon and hasn’t returned and I’m really starting to get worried!”
“Okay! Okay!” Dim Cloud says as he tries to calm her down “Do you have any idea of where he might of went?”
Night Watch only respond with a shake of her head “But he might have gone into the woods”
“Alright. We’ll send out a search party for him” As he finishes he blows a whistle signaling for the team for the night to fly over to him.
Within a minutes a team of 6 bat ponies form a line in front of their captain.
“Alright listen Team!” Dim Cloud beings “We’ve got a missing pony on our hoofs and we need to find him ASAP!” All the ponies nod “He goes by the name of Cass and he might be in the woods so that is the first place we shall look” The search party team nod again “We’ll split the woods into four sections and have 2 ponies in each section and I’ll take to the sky and circle around the forest” again they nod.
After making their teams of 2 the co-captain says “remember blow your whistle once if you find him and twice if there's a problem” the teams nod again and all fly off into different direction.
Before Dim Cloud could fly off Night Watches says “I’m coming with you!”
“No” He shouts stopping her she could extend her wings “We need you to-”
“I’m a captain as well Dim! And this is my boyfriend we’re looking for and I’m coming with you!”
With a sigh Dim Cloud nods and flies up into the night sky with Night Watch following him.

As you fly towards you town with the moon being your only sauce of light. You notice something in the distance heading towards you. It looks like two balls of light floating in the night sky. You squint your eyes to see if you can make out what they are. As they come closer you notice that they are in fact lamps. You can also see two figures holding said lamps and they are coming towards you at a very fast pace.
The two figures holding the lamps seem to be wearing the same type of armour that Night Watch wears during her shift
“Guards?” You say to yourself “what are they doing out here?”
Soon the two guards stop in front of you making you stop in your tracks as they look at each other. The two guards were a male and a female. You start to wonder why they’re here and talk to each other right in front of you.
“Are you the one who goes by the name of Cass?” The female one ask
“Err yeah?” you reply
With a nod to each other the male guard pulls out a whistle and blow into it making a loud high pitch sounds that could be heard from a very long distance.
When the whistle went off that could only mean one thing… you're in some deep trouble! As the female one glided over to you, out of instinct you fly down to the trees to try and get away from her.
Once landing in the ground you run like hell through the forest in some hope that you would be able to get away from them.
“Cass wait!!” She shouts as you continue to run
You suddenly hear the whistle sound twice in a row, which could only mean one thing… you've but yourself in even more trouble. In hindsight running away from guards probably wasn't the smartest idea you've ever had.
“Cass!! Come back!!” You faintly hear, meaning that you’re starting to lose them
As you continue to run to suddenly see a big rock that will be a good enough hiding place for while until you’ve completely lost them. You slide to stop and jump behind the rock and tried to keep your breath as quiet as possible.
Four pairs hoofs can be heard hitting the ground close to where you’re hiding. Taking a risk you peek out from behind the rock to see the female guard looking around for any sign of you.
“Cass!” She says again “We’re not going to hurt you! We’re a search party looking for you!” you raise your eyebrow as she says this “Night Watch is really worried about you Cass!” Your heart sank as she says your girlfriend's name “Cass, just come out so we can get you back to Callingwood”
You feel like an absolute idot. Not once did you even think about how Night Watch must felt during your little fit of rage. The only time you did think of her was when you finally calmed down. With a big sigh you were about to step out from behind the rock until you feel a tap on your shoulder.
You look to the sauce of the tapping to see a big stallion in guard armour looking unimpressed with you. You recognise this guard. With a chuckle you say “Hey, Dim Cloud”
“Hello, Cass” he says in a very monotone manner
Grabbing you by the arm he pulls you out from behind the rock in front of all the guards that were chasing you earlier.
“What the hell were you thinking, Cass!” Dim Cloud shouts at you “Disappearing without telling Night Watch and running from guards!” You don't say anything except you just put your head down in shame.
With a big heavy sigh Dim Clouds look at the guard around him and says “alright let go back”

After a short flight back to Callingwood you didn't say a word to the guards, not even to the ones who were trying to sympathies with you. The only thought that was on your mind was how Night Watch was going to react.
Once you touch down on the surface on the town’s dirt.
“CASS!!” Shouts a very scared voice
You look up to see Night Watch running towards you. You watch as she gets closer and closer until..
SLAP
You feel a very sharp, stinging pain around your cheek. Rubbing your cheek, trying to smooth the pain a little, you look at Night Watch who looks at you with a very angry look, but the tears in her eyes.
“You stupid idiot!!” she says yelling at the top of her lungs “Why in Equestria would you ever do such a thing!” you continue to rub your cheek as she continues “Not even telling me that you were going and exiting through a window! Did you even think at all how I wound react to you suddenly disappearing!” you then notice that a tears starts to run down her face
She suddenly wraps her arms around your neck and gives your the biggest hug you have ever received from her.
“Don't you ever do that again!” She says with a shaky voice as you feel some tears running down her cheek and onto your neck “You had me so worried”
Swallowing the lump in your throat you wrap your arms around her and pull her in tight.
“I'm so sorry” you whisper in her ear as some tears start to escape your eyes “I'm so so sorry”
You continue to hold her as you let some tears run down your face, and repeatedly apologise to her.
Night Watch counties to cry into your fur for a good minute or so until let's go from the hug, but continues to hold your hoofs in hers. As you lookin into her eyes, getting lost in them once again, she gives a quick kiss on the lips before pulling you into another
