“Ok y’all, are we ready? An’ did we decide who’s ridin’ with who?” Applejack asked, as she lifted her Stetson with the tip of her finger and a hand on her hip.

“Rarity and me are taking the troublemakers, and the rest of the girls are riding with you.” Rainbow Dash answered, reaching into the pocket of her basketball shorts, and pulling out her car keys.

“Sure you can handle those three? It’s a four hour drive ya know.”

“Well, for one, they’re already in my car,” Rainbow grinned as she pointed to said car with her thumb, everyone noticing the crusaders in the back seat of her blue Mustang, playing on their 3DSs. “And, second, Rarity said they stayed up till three in the morning. We all got up at six. I give them about 30 minutes before they pass out.”

“I didn’t even know they stayed up that late until I check my laptop, only to find out that the last time it was logged off was 2:55.” Rarity chuckled softly.

“Well, alrighty then. As long as everyone’s stuff is in a car, we should get going. It’s already almost nine.” Applejack stated, as the group nodded and walked to their rides. Applejack hopped into the driver’s seat of her orange, Jeep Wrangler as Twilight sat in the passenger seat. Fluttershy and Pinkie soon occupied the back seats. Applejack waited until Rarity and Rainbow were buckled up in the other car before taking off.

Its spring break for all Ponyvill students, and these six friends decided to take a trip out to the country, while also keeping the crusaders out of trouble. Spring break means a week of no school, which means a week of pulling stupid stunts. Just like any 12 year old, they just want to find what their good at and fit in. They’ve tried many different things, trying to find out what they’re good at, but to no avail. You know, because getting second place in the talent show by singing, being “manager” in tech club, and doing epic tricks at the skate park mean nothing. All that aside, they tend to get a little too serious when… Exploring? Yeah, let’s go with that. To avoid another slime covered gym and setting fire to the neighborhood's swimming pool, the crusaders agreed to the invites.

Applejack’s parents are going to a farming convention for the week, so they offered to let Applejack and her friends stay at their place in Neighbraska. They own about three acres of land, four horses, two billy goats, and one dairy cow. The house that sits on this land has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, all that good stuff. It’s not a real big house, but it’s not that small either. It’s a nice place to get away, which is what this group needs. A stress free vacation could do anyone some good.

About an hour into the drive, Applejack is calmly listening to some country music on the radio, while Twilight reads her new book. In the back seat Pinkie is quietly snoring, and Fluttershy is calling her parents for the third time.

“You’re gunna drive ‘em insane, sugarcube.” AJ gave a small smile, as she glanced at her in her mirror.

“I just want to make sure all the animals are being taken care of at the animal shelter.” Fluttershy put her phone down, realizing that they were driving through a dead zone.

“I’m sure they’re fine. They know what they’re doin’. Why don’t you try to get some rest? We still got ‘bout three hours to go.”

Fluttershy nodded and leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes.

“NO. WAY.” Scootaloo said in shock. Sweetie Belle looked over to see what the big deal was.

“NO WAY!” She squeaked out.

“I KNOW RIGHT?”

“What are y’all talkin’ about?” Applebloom was very confused as to why her friends were suddenly so shocked.

“Scootaloo just caught a shiny Charizard!”

“NO WAY! Let me see!” Scootaloo showed her screen to her redheaded friend, proudly showing off her newest Pokemon.

“That’s so cool!! I’ll trade you mah shiny Krookodile for it.”

“I’m not trading him for anything!”

“I wouldn’t trade him either.”

“That’s because the only shinny you’ve caught is a shiny Trubbish.”

Sweetie playfully glared at Scootaloo before sticking her tongue out at her, causing all three of them to laugh. It wasn’t more than 40 minutes later that the crusaders fell asleep.

“They held out longer then I thought they would.” Rainbow said, breaking the silence.

“They probably would’ve lasted longer if they had remembered to charge their game devices last night.” Rarity giggled.

“They sure are something, aren’t they? Reminds me a lot of our little group at that age.”

“Indeed they do. Although, their little skater really reminds me of a particular athlete in our group.”

“Yeah…” Rainbow trailed off, glancing at the sleeping Scootaloo in her mirror.

“Something wrong, dear?”

“I just… Can’t help but think something’s up with her, ya know?”

“No, I don’t. Care to elaborate?”

“She acts all cool and brave in public, but when it’s just her and me… Sometimes she asks these really deep questions. Like the other, we talked for like two hours about sexuality, talking about what it is, what it really means, and accepting it. It’s like she was afraid of what her sexuality is, and was just lost and confused. Whenever we talk like that, her bravado just, leaves.”

“Again, that sounds really familiar.” Rarity gave a kind smile, as she held Rainbow’s hand in hers. Rainbow smiled back, before continuing.

“Also, when I went to ask her parents if it was ok to take her along, they were more than willing to send her off. I mean, who does that? We’re taking her to a different state! An’ they just gave her up!”

“If something were going on, don’t you think she would’ve told you? Maybe you just caught them at a bad time. This vacation is supposed to be stress-free, remember? Try not to think about that.”

“It’s hard not to.”

“If something is going on with her, this vacation will only help. She gets be away from her home life for a while, and she gets to hang out with her idol. Look at it as a bonding experience. The more you two bond, the more comfortable she will be around you.”

“I think she’s pretty comfortable around me. Like I said, we talked about sexuality for two hours.”

“Even so, if you still think she’s hiding something, then she isn’t 100% comfortable around you. You really need to stop over thinking this. Promise me you’ll at least try to have fun?”

“Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my.”

Rarity smiled at Rainbow, squeezing her hand a little more. This is going to be a long week.

Day 1 - part 1

After just a little over four hours, the group found themselves driving on the dirt road leading up to the farm house, owned by the Apples. The dirt road soon ended, and they were on the concrete driveway. Applejack pulled under the carport, which was connected to the side of the house, leaving enough room for Rainbow Dash to park next to her. The occupants of AJ’s Jeep soon stepped out and started to unload their stuff from the car. Once Rainbow Dash was park, she turned off the engine, and looked back at Scootaloo. Her arm was propped up by her elbow which was resting on her knee, and had her hand covering her mouth.

“You ok there, kid?” Rainbow asked, Rarity turning around as well. Scootaloo just nodded, slowly removing her hand.

“You sure?”

Scootaloo nodded again, this time replying with, “Y-yeah. My mouth is just really sore…”

“Ah, I almost forgot. It’s only, like what, the second day right?”

“Yeah. My orthodontist said the second and third days are when I’ll be the sorest.”

“Well, I’ve never had braces before, so I can’t really help you. Though, Fluttershy had braces when she was younger. I’m sure she has some tips to help with soreness. Anyway, poke those two and wake ‘em up.” With that, Rainbow and Rarity opened their doors and got out of the car. They were soon followed by a tired Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, and a groggy Scootaloo. They all got their stuff from the back of Rainbow’s car, and fallowed Applejack inside the house. There was a door on the side, under the carport that lead them into the kitchen. AJ showed them to their rooms. There are only three bedrooms, so Applejack and Fluttershy are sharing one room, Twilight and Pinkie in another, and finely Rainbow and Rarity. Whoever got the biggest room, would also share it with the crusaders. They will sleep on an air mattress at the end of the bed. Applejack and Fluttershy ended up with them.

The very first thing the crusaders did, after setting their stuff down, was grab their chargers and found a place to charge their 3DSs. They’ll need something to do when it gets too dark to be outside, right? After a little settling in, the crusaders went out front and started playing catch with Scootaloo’s baseball. The rest of the girls all made their way out, sitting at the table on the porch. Rainbow sat with Fluttershy on her right, and Rarity on her left. She leaned over to Fluttershy, whispering something to her that none of the other girls could hear. With a knowing smile and a nod, Fluttershy stood up and walked down the stairs of the porch, over to Scootaloo. She tapped her on the shoulder, getting her attention before whispering in her ear. Scootaloo nodded and threw the baseball to Applebloom before fallowing Fluttershy into the house.

Sweetie and Applebloom simply shrugged before continuing their game of catch. All the girls at the table gave Rainbow a confused look, while Applejack asked the question everyone was thinking. “What was that?”

“Scootaloo’s braces were buggin’ her so I asked Shy to help her out. No biggy.” Rainbow said, with a lower voice than normal.
“Why ya talkin’ so quit?”

“Scootaloo isn’t exactly, ecstatic about having braces. I know for a fact she wouldn’t ask Fluttershy herself, so I did it.”

“Well, ain’t that sweet of ya!”

“Yeah yeah yeah. You would’ve done it for Applebloom.”

“Touché.”

Everyone burst into a fit of giggles, as Fluttershy and Scootaloo retuned outside. Scootaloo rejoined her friends, while Fluttershy sat back in her seat. They talked for a little while, and watched the crusaders run around the yard, until Applejack brought up some important business that needed to be addressed. “Ok y’all,” she started, “We need to take a trip to the store if we want anything to eat this week. I’ll take the card and go get stuff. Do any of ya want to come along?”

“I’ll come with you.” Twilight offered, “There’s something I want to get anyway.”

“Well alright then. Hey girls, we’re going to the store so be good, and don’t mess with the animals while I’m gone.”

“Ok Applejack,” They answered in unison, not really paying attention to what she was saying. They were too focused on trying to climb the tree in the front yard.

“That means you too, Dash.”

Rainbow put her hands up defensively, making AJ snicker before walking to her Jeep with Twilight right behind her. Applejack backed up and drove forward stopping horizontal to the porch.

“We’ll be back soon.” She called out getting ready to take off, when Rainbow stopped her, and ran to the driver’s window.
“Hey, when you’re getting food, don’t get anything to hard, ok? Or anything we can’t make softer anyways. You know, for Scoots.” She asked quietly, so only AJ and Twilight could hear her. “You got it Rainbow.” Applejack winked at her, and then drove off.
