The Solution
It was a dark and stormy night that surrounded Canterlot, and Celestia was finished her royal duties for the day. While walking back to her bedroom she was hit hard in the stomach, it was her sister Luna and she did not look happy.
Celestia rubbed her stomach, ‘that really hurt’ she thought to herself. "What's wrong LuLu, you seem upset" she said sincerely, preparing for the anger that Luna was about to release upon her.
“Every day I am sick of everypony praising your sun while my moon is not recognized because everypony is asleep. You get all the glory while I just sit in the corner!" Luna screamed as she felt the anger inside her grow stronger. She developed a hatred for the sun and its owner, her sister.
"you know that isn't true Lulu, ponies also enjoy the night. They throw parties at night and the love between two ponies is shared most strongly at night" Celestia exclaimed as she hugged her sister.
Luna pondered this statement for a moment and began to see that it was true. Luna's anger subsided and turned into sadness, she began to cry over Celestia's neck. "I know but everyone always comes to look at the rising of the summer sun celebration, I have nothing to look forward to and nothing for ponies to enjoy. I wish there was a way for the two of us to be able to share that sense of joy." Luna sobbed as she tried to compose herself.
"Well maybe there is something we can do in order for your moon to get the attention it deserves. Let's go to your room and think of some ideas, it will be like a slumber party" Celestia giggled and smiled at Luna, trying to cheer her sister up.
"That's sounds great, thank you Tia for being so understanding, I'm sorry for lashing out at you. I am just under a lot of stress and emotional burdens lately" Luna chuckled as the two walked to Luna's room.
As they entered Luna's room, Celestia spoke "It's ok I understand, However, even though you may not think it’s true, I have always been jealous of you sis."
"And why is that?" Luna laughed as she waited for the response.
"During the day, all ponies do is work and eat, but during the night even though some ponies sleep, others have fun by partying and making love at night. The nightlife must be pretty interesting for you." Celestia blushed as her sister burst out in laughter.
“Oh sister, it's not like I can do any of those things, I can't attend those parties or do the other thing you mentioned because it would be Un-princess like of me." Luna blushed as she thought about what it would be like to do both of those activities.
"Aww pony feathers Luna, things have changed, you can do anything you like, you may face criticism for doing it but you are still free to do whatever you please. Plus if you are still scared about being noticed, you can always preform a transformation spell and turn into someone else. I have done that many t-times before in order to do non-courtly a-activities." Celestia stammered while saying the last part of her sentence.
"Too much information sis, but thanks for the idea. Now let's see what we can do to make my moon get recognized." Luna said giddily.
The two sisters thought hard multiple different ways to get Luna recognition for her moon. But all the plans the two thought of either would take too long, or they were to complicated to work. It wasn't until early morning around 2 am that Luna finally exclaimed.
"I know what we can do, I can make the moon completely immersed in the umbra of the Equestria's shadow causing the moon to look red, it's perfect!" Luna jumped around in joy as the idea filled her mind.
"That sounds great Lulu, when do you want to do it" exclaimed Celestia, happy that her sister was happy.
"Why not today, I'm so excited that I really want to show everypony now" Luna said frantically.
"Are you sure? We could wait a couple days and tell the guards to spread the word about what is about to happen" Celestia questioned.
"I have been angry and sad the past three weeks after the summer sun celebration, I really need something to cheer me up now." Luna demanded.
"Ok, I just want to make sure your making the right choice." Celestia said.
The two walked out onto the balcony and Luna began to do what see did best, control the moon. She moved it so that moon was completely immersed in the Equestria's shadow, it began to glow red.
"It looks beautiful sis" Celestia said in awe as the moon finished changing in color.
"Thank you so much Tia for letting me do this, I will never forget this moment. I love you Tia." Luna said as she cried tears of joy and went to hug her sister.
"I love you too Luna" Celestia said as she returned her sister's hug.
From that point on, when ever Luna was feeling down she would create a lunar eclipse to show that ponies could enjoy the night as well as the day. It is said that even other moons in other universes also experience this phenomena on the same day that Luna makes a lunar eclipse. Ponies and other mystical beings would travel to Canterlot to witness this spectacular event and share fun times with the princess of the night. Luna finally found the attention she needed to make her happy.

Today we enjoy watching the lunar eclipse, we don't know how this phenomenon occurs but it is said to be caused by the Celtic goddess Arianrhod, but it could actually be Luna. We will never know. #2spooky4me
