> Magical Mystery Cure in The Future > by SammyRosePony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Spell > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Midnight! Where are you! It’s time for dinner,” called Twilight. “Ugh. I swear that girl is ignoring me.” “Well she is a nineteen year old mare. What can you expect,” said her husband, Flash Sentry. “Hm. I guess you’re right.” Twilight said. “Maybe she is casting weird spells with her freaky magic.” said Flashlight, Twilight’s son. “Hey! Just because she has a horn with magic doesn’t mean it’s freaky,” said Starlight, Twilight’s youngest daughter. “But she has a horn and wings. She’s an alicorn!” “So.” “Alicorns have freaky magic.” “Mom, Aunt Celestia, Aunt Luna, Aunt Cadence, and our cousin Heart Striker are alicorns. They don’t have freaky magic.” “Yes they do. With the sun, moon, love all that jazz.” “And explain how that’s freaky magic.” Twilight stared and grinned at her one and only son waiting for his answer. “Well......uh...um....never mind,” Said Flashlight. Twilight and Starlight laughed at the sight of Flashlight losing a debate which is common for him. “Here I am mom,” said a cheerful Midnight as she walked in carrying a book. “Midnight sweet heart, what were you doing up there,” asked Twilight. “Oh just researching....the stars.....and magic.” “Again,” asked Starlight. “That’s the fifth time this week.” “What. I love studying stars. Especially the star light.” Starlight realized the joke intended. The two sisters shared a heartwarming laugh. “Ha. Nerd,” Flashlight said. Midnight flared her wings, and had an annoyed face at Flashlight. “Don’t be like that Flashy,” said Flash. “Dad! You know I never liked that nickname.” The girls shared another laugh. “Flashlight sweetie,” Twilight started. “Just because Midnight likes studying stars and magic, doesn’t make her a nerd.” “Reminds me of somepony,” said Flash. Twilight gave him a smirk “Okay Midnight, you know you’re in charge while your father and I are in Canterlot for the week,” Twilight said. “Yes mom, you’ve been telling me all month. I think I’ve got it.” “Okay.” “Wait a week, as in seven whole days,” said Flashlight. “And six nights,” said Flash. “Okay, I get why Starlight would need someone to take care of her, she’s ten,” “Hey!” “But I’m fifteen! I can take care of myself,” “Don’t you remember what happen the last time you were home alone,” Midnight cutting in. “Creating a mini tornado doesn’t happen twice. And I was younger when that happened.” “Um...you weren’t allowed to invite friends over, and that was two weeks ago,” said Twilight. “You said I could invite at least one friend,” said Flashlight. “By that I meant Appleseed or Chocolate Strawberry. You know the children of my two of best friends. Applejack and Pinkie Pie” “I know who they are I’ve known them since forever. Those two are my best friends, but I wanted to invite some of my pegasi friends over.” “What about Rainboom. The one and only son of Rainbow Dash.” “Well he’s like, twelve. He’s an awesome guy, but he is kind of full of himself.” “Hey! Don’t say that about my fellow Cutie Mark Crusader,” yelled Starlight. Flashlight shooed his sister away with his hoof. “Yeah, Rainboom can be full of himself but again, who’s his mom?” Flashlight gave his mom an annoyed look. “Well I think Starlight would be easier to take care of than you,” said Midnight. “Why because she has no wings. I mean no offense Starlight, mom and midnight are alicorns, dad and I are pegasi, you’re just a regular old unicorn,” said Flashlight. Starlight’s face went from a grin to a frown. Twilight looked at her youngest child and comforted her. “You’re anything but a regular old unicorn,” said Twilight. “Really? You really think so mommy?” “Of course sweetie. I was once a unicorn, and look at me now.” Starlight smiled. “Oh, mom.” I was looking in the old bookshelf and I found this book,” said Midnight. Twilight read the title, Starswirl the Bearded’s Magical Spells. Twilight recognized the book, but couldn’t remember where it came from. Then it hit her like a pile of rocks. “Midnight, sweetie how in Equestria did you find this. I thought I lost it.” Twilight got to the page where she wrote the spell, but it wasn’t there. “Um...Midnight, was there a page here when you found this book,” asked Twilight. “No but I could tell there was something there since there is still little pieces of paper left,” said Midnight. “Twilight dear we have to go now, or we’ll miss our train,” interrupted Flash. “Okay Flash one second! Midnight you have to promise me not to cast the spell that is written on the last page okay.” “But why?” “I’ll explain to you when we get back just promise me you won’t cast it.” “I promise.” “Okay I’ll see you when we get back. Bye kids!” “Bye mom and dad,” yelled all three kids. Hours past and Midnight could not keep her eyes off the book. “Midnight you really need to stop reading all those dusty old books,” said Flashlight. “She could read whatever she wants,” yelled Starlight. “You know what Starlight you’re just a little...” “Ugh would you two stop fighting,” yelled Midnight. “Well if you want to cast the spell, cast it,” said Flashlight. “You know I can’t do that I promised mom.” “Who said she needs to know.” “But what if something goes wrong with the spell,” asked Starlight. “Exactly. I can’t cast it. I gave my word.” “Come on. It’s not like you Pinkie promised or something. Some promises are meant to be broken. Just cast it.” “Okay fine.” Midnight opened the book to the last page, and she read the spell. Her horn had a magenta colored aura surrounding it. “From one to another, another to one, a mark of one’s destiny singled out alone fulfilled.” Midnight cast the spell. “Hm. Nothing happened,” said Starlight. “See was that so bad,” asked Flashlight. “I hate you,” said Midnight. “Hey at least nothing happened.” “I guess you’re right.” All three kids yawned. “I guess it’s time for us to go to bed,” said Midnight. They all agreed and headed off to sleep. > The Next Morning > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning came as Princess Celestia raised the sun. The kids are usually the kind who loves sleeping in. Midnight did not get to sleep in as long as she would liked for there was knocking at the door. She walked down and opened the door. Standing there were two earth ponies, two pegasi, and a unicorn. Midnight knew exactly who these ponies were since she had spent her entire life with them including their own children. "Um......Hi guys. What brings you here so early this morning," asked Midnight. "Is your mom still here, or did she already leave," asked a worried Rarity. "Um, she left last night. Why?" "We have a big problem on our hooves," Rainbow Dash told her. "What kind of problem exactly?" "A super duper, ultra extra, extreme problem," yelled the over the top Pinkie Pie. "Pinkie Pie don't be like that. It's just an incident that happened around the time your mom became a princess," said the calm Fluttershy. "Okay, but I still don't follow," Midnight said confused. "Sugarcube, hasn't your mom ever tell ya how she became a princess," asked Applejack. "Well yes and no. She told me about it but never really in detail." "Well the issue we have has something to do with a spell that from what I remember Starswirl wrote but never got right," said Rarity. "And know the ponies that are under this spell are your friends," explained Fluttershy. "You mean Skylar, Lightning Rose, Cheesecake, Apple Slice, and Sapphire," Midnight asked trying to understand the situation. "Yes. Skylar is over at my cottage tending to Lightning's garden," said Fluttershy. "Lightning Rose is over at Sugarcube Corner trying to host little filly and colt birthday parties," said Pinkie. "Cheesecake is over at the farm trying to do Apple Slice's chores," said Applejack. "Apple Slice is looking for gems with Spike. He can't even locate a single gem," said Rarity. "And Sapphire is trying to learn Skylar's routine. Even though she's Rarity's daughter, she isn't all that graceful," said Rainbow Dash. "As a mother I should be concerned that you kind of insulted my daughter, but I have to agree with you on the one Rainbow," said Rarity. Midnight was still confused of the situation. She didn't know what the five mares were getting to. "They aren't where they're supposed to be," Fluttershy stated. "OH MY CELESTIA! Can't you ponies see that this poor young mare is just getting information without actually knowing what the actual problem is. I know I take forever to get to the point, but this is ridiculous. Midnight sweetheart, your friends' cutie marks have been switched," Pinkie trying to make Midnight understand. It was at that moment she realized what was going on. The spell went through her head as she realized what she had done. "You don't say," she said nervously. Midnight did not want the mane 5 to know she was the cause of this whole mess. "Yes. I think Twilight had a spell to fix all this. If you cast it maybe you could fix them," said Rarity. "Um..,yeah about that. I don't think I know where that spell is." Midnight Sparkle knew she was lying, but she had to do whatever she could to stay out of trouble. "But I think I could talk some sense into them," Midnight said not actually knowing what to do. "That could actually work," Rainbow Dash said. "Yes thank you Midnight," said Applejack. "I'll do whatever I can. Flashlight! Starlight!" "What," both yelled as they came down stairs. "I have to go some where real quick. I'm leaving Fla...no. I'm leaving Starlight in charge." "WHAT!! But she's like five years younger than me," Flashlight cried. "She trust me more than she does you," Starlight said while laughing. Flashlight gave her a look saying I will get you back. "Don't worry. I won't be long. I hope." "Okay. Bye ," yelled Starlight. Midnight Sparkle was off to help her friends hoping she'd get some sense I to them > Skylar VS Gardening > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first place Midnight decided to go was to Skylar. Skylar was the 18 year old, and only daughter of Rainbow Dash and Soarin. Skylar has no intension of being a Wonderbolt. She rather be performing gracefully through the skies. She was just about done practicing a new routine before the spell. Midnight walked up to the blue pegasus with darker blue mane. She looked at her flank where a pink heart with clouds used be, but it was replaced by a pink flower with a lightning bolt. "Oh hi Midnight! What brings you here to my garden," asked Skylar. "Your garden? Don't you mean Lightning Rose's garden," Midnight asked. "Whatever do you mean? This has been my garden since the day my cutie mark appeared." "Skylar don't you remember when you got your cutie mark?" "Of course I do. I was ten and figured out my special talent was gardening." "You can't even grow plants properly." "I know, I know. I've been working so hard to make it right, but it just won't work no matter what I do. It's got to be my destiny, cause it's what my cutie mark is telling me." Midnight then saw that even with switched cutie marks, they still weren't good at what they were doing. She saw how Skylar was depressed. They have to do what there new cutie marks is telling them now that their destinies have changed. "Skylar, don't you remember performing at the flying competition in Cloudsdale? You were so graceful. You won first prize and got your cutie mark." "Midnight I already told you. My special talent is gardening." Midnight couldn't get through to her friend that was a year younger than her. "Um.. I'll talk to you later. I'm gonna go see where Lightning Rose is." "Okay see ya later I guess." "Bye." Midnight looked back at her pegasus friend. She was quite smaller than other pegasus her age. Midnight saw how sad she looked with her destiny changed. She was now wondering how her other friends are handling the situation. > Lightning Rose VS Partying Foals > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next place Midnight decided to go was Sugar Cube Corner. She knew that Cheesecake always hosts her parties there, so that's where she figured she would find Lightning Rose. Lightning Rose is the only child of Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps. She was a light green pegasus with a pink mane with yellow streaks in it. Lightning was also the oldest children of the mane 6. Midnight walked over to the counter where she saw Chocolate Strawberry, Pinkie Pie's youngest daughter. Strawberry was never as crazy as her parents and sister though. Strawberry was a pink earth pony with a light brown mane. Her cutie mark was a strawberry dipped in chocolate. "Hey Strawberry," yelled Midnight. "Oh hey Midnight. Do you have any idea of what's going on?" Strawberry pointed towards the area that was reserved for parties. Lightning was there trying to entertain the little fillies and colts. "Now little fillies and colts.....why don't we um....play pin the tail on the pony," Lightning said nervously. All the little foals just stared at her in confusion. "Um..yeah I'm aware of what's going on here," said Midnight. "Have you tried helping her out at least?" "I did. But the fact that I'm only 14 and she's 20 makes her think that she can handle it. She thinks she can do it, but I know she can't," explained Strawberry. "Her stubbornness is coming out isn't it." "Eeyup." Lightning has always been a bit stubborn ever since she was a filly. Her being the oldest of her friends made her believe she can do anything on her own. Having somepony that was younger than her help her out didn't feel right to her. "I'm gonna go talk to her. Maybe get her thinking about gardening again." "Well good luck," said Strawberry. Midnight walked into the party room where she saw bored little fillies and colts walking around. She looked at Lightning's flank where a pink flower with a lightning bolt should have been, but was replaced with a white cake with two red birthday candles. "Hi Lightning." "Oh hello Midnight. What brings you here," asked Lightning. "Um I was wondering if you needed any help?" "Midnight, sweetie, I'm a year older than you. I think I got this," Lightning said secretly wanting help. "But Lightning, you're supposed to be gardening at your home. Don't you remember you getting your cutie mark?" "Yes. I was 11 when I got it for planning little foals birthday parties." "No. You got for gardening. Remember when the pegasi messed up the weather schedule and the drought that happened in Ponyville. All the plants in the town were dying. Including the trees down at Sweet Apple Acres. You hated the idea of there being no more plants so you thought of a plan to help the plants. That's how you got your cutie mark. Your mom even gave you a garden'" midnight said explaining Lightning her correct talent. "Hm. Doesn't ring a bell," lightning said. Midnight was getting impatient now. "Look. I know I'm no good at planning parties. The foals show there face in frowns. I try my best to make them smile, but it always goes down. Its got to be my destiny, but it's what my cutie mark is telling me." Midnight looked at her friend who was no almost in tears. "Um I gotta go. There's something at Sweet Apple Acres that needs my attention," Midnight told her. "Okay. Good Bye Midnight Sparkle," lightning said with her head down. "Did you get through to her," asked Strawberry as Midnight was walking out. "No." "Where are you going now?" "To talk some sense into your sister." "Good luck." "Thank you. Bye" "Bye" Midnight walked out if Sugar Cube Corner and headed towards Sweet Apple Acres. > Cheesecake VS Apples > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next place Midnight headed towards was Sweet Apple Acres. She knew Cheesecake was over there doing some of the Apples' chores. Cheesecake was the eight teen year old daughter of Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich. She has a lightish yellow coat, a pink mane that's slightly lighter than Pinkie's, and baby blue eyes. Cheesecake always likes working with little foals and making other ponies laugh. When Midnight got to the farm, there five ponies watching Cheesecake, Big Apple (Big Mac and Cheerilee's son), Cherry Blossom (Big Mac and Cheerilee's daughter), Appleseed (Applejack and Flim's son), Sweet Apple (Applejack and Flim's daughter), and Sapling (Applebloom and Pipsqueak's daughter). "Hey guys. What's up," Midnight saying knowing what's up. Appleseed pointed towards Cheesecake who was bucking a tree but then failing. "Um....you know anything about this," he asked. "Unfortunately, yes," she replied. "Do you know the cause of this," asked Sweet Apple. "What! No! I don't know a thing about the cause!" The Apples all just looked at her. "Um I'm just going to talk to her." The Apples nodded. Midnight walked up to Cheesecake was pulling a bucket of apples slowly. Midnight realized that Cheesecake's mane was like in a "Pinkamena" state. She looked at her flank where a cake with candles was replaced with an Apple slice. "Um, Midnight, why are you staring at my butt?" "Oh...um....I...I was just looking at you cutie mark." "Why? You've seen it like a million times since I've got it." "Oh here we go again." "What's that?" "Ok answer me this. How did you get your cutie mark." "I bucked through that Apple trees and got my cutie mark." "No, no, no. You were eight years old almost nine. Your parents had said they would plan a party for a little foal. They then said they couldn't do it because got a better offer. You didn't want the foal to be sad, so you through the party. The foal loved it and you got your cutie mark." "That never happened Nighty. Look. I may not be the best Apple farmer, but it's got to be my destiny.." "Yeah yeah I know it's what your cutie mark is telling you." "How'd you know I was going to say that. Do you have a Nighty sense?" "No. I'll see you later." "Kay. Where are you going?" "To Carousel Boutique." "Okay. Bye." "Bye" > Apple Slice VS Gemstones > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midnight headed over to Carousel Boutique. She was hoping she’d find Apple Slice there. Apple Slice was the oldest child of Applejack and Flim. He had an orange coat that was darker than Applejack's and a red mane that was darker than Flim's. He also inherited Applejack's hat. Lucky for Midnight, he was there. He was outside circling the ground. He’d look down for a moment, start digging, and then started walking again. Over to the side, she spotted Rarity and Spike just looking at the farm pony. They looked concerned. “Hi Aunt Rarity. Hi Uncle Spike,” Midnight said. “Why hello darling. Have you gotten any luck with the others yet,” Rarity asked. “Unfortunately not,” she replied. “How many more of them do you have,” asked Spike. “I only have Apple Slice and Sapphire.” “Well you better get it done quick. I don’t know how much longer Apple Slice can go without finding a single gem,” replied Rarity. “I’ll try.” Midnight walked over the stallion she had known for since she was born. “Hey Apple Slice.” “Oh, howdy Midnight,” said Apple Slice looking up for just two seconds. Midnight looked at his cutie mark. His famous apple slice cutie mark was replaced by a ruby. Midnight didn’t want to admit it, but she actually did get a kick out of one of her best friends that’s a stallion having such a girly cutie mark. She hated herself for thinking that, yet she wasn’t sorry either. “So,” Midnight started. “Found any gems lately?” “Nope. I don’t know what’s wrong. It’s my special talent. Why can’t I find any gems.” “Oh here we go again,” Midnight thought to herself. “It’s okay. That’s not what’s important here.” “What are you talking about? Rarity has a big order to fill, and she needs a mother load of gems.” “Is it another order for Sapphire Shores?” “Eeyup. And I can’t waste time not finding any gems. Without them Rarity’s career would be ruined. RUINED I TELL YOU RUINED!” “Geez,” Midnight thought to herself. “And I thought Rarity and Sapphire were drama, but this is ridiculous.” “I just can’t do that to Rarity,” explained Apple Slice. “Look. I think she can handle you not looking for gems at the moment.” “But-” “I understand it’s what your cutie mark is telling you, but it just isn’t the thing for you.” “Come again?” “Okay let’s try this again. How did you get your cutie mark?” “Oh geez you should remember Midnight. I was eleven and I just happen to be good at finding gems and stuff. Just not at the moment when I’m nineteen.” “Oh Celestia that is not how you got your cutie mark. The only part you got right was that you were eleven. You were the last of us to get your cutie mark. Just after Granny Smith died, you wouldn’t buck apples because you missed her so much. Your mom couldn’t help because she was helping Apple Bloom since she was gonna have a foal any day at the time, and your uncle got sick. Your family was about to lose the farm because they couldn’t buck enough apples to make the money. You couldn’t let that happen so you took over during the night and bucked enough apples to save the farm. That is how you got your cutie mark. Plus you said something very touching that day I remember.” “And that was?” “You said that the Apple Family is just like one big apple. Every family member is one slice of the apple. Granny Smith was an apple slice who has left the apple. You referred to Granny as the apple slice that was your cutie mark, and that she will always be there with you.” “I don’t remember that.” At that point Midnight was about to hit her head on the ground. She relaxed herself and decided she should just move on. “Well. I got to go.” “Okay, bye.” “Bye.” “So did you get through to him,” asked Rarity. “(sigh) No. Do you have any idea where your daughter may be?” “I think she’s in the field where Skylar always practices her routines,” said Spike. “Okay thanks.” “While you’re over there, can you at least tell Sapphire she can’t dance,” said Spike. “Will do.” Midnight walked towards Skylar’s practice area. As she walked away, Rarity glared at her husband. “What. You know she can’t dance,” admitted Spike “I know, but you don’t need to blurt it out every chance you get,” said Rarity. “Fine. It would probably be best if I lend Apple Slice a claw.” “That would be nice for him.” “I’m..I’m gonna go over there now.” “Okay you do that and I will go back inside.” “Okay” “Okay” > Sapphire VS Sky Dancing > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midnight walked over to the field where Skyler always practices her routines. She saw Sapphire “practicing” a routine. Sapphire is the only child of Rarity and Spike. She looks more like a pony than a dragon. The noticeable dragon features she has are her claws, horns, and sharp teeth. Her dragon horns also work like a unicorn horn. Midnight looked at Sapphires flank where a red ruby used to be, and was replaced with a pink heart with clouds. She looked over to her side and saw three ponies standing there, Rainbow Dash, Soarin, and Rainboom (Rainbow Dash’s and Soarin’s son). “Hi you guys,” said Midnight. “Hey kid what’s going on,” asked Soarin. “Oh nothing much. Just trying to turn my best friends back to normal and not make their destinies destroy their lives,” she said sarcastically. Soarin felt kind of embarrassed after he realized the situation. “Have you gotten any luck,” asked Rainbow. “Nope. Not even close,” she replied. “What stupid thing is my older sister doing now,” Rainboom asked. Rainbow then slapped him. “What. She didn’t want to be a Wonderbolt, and out of all the the awesome things she could’ve done she chose to do Sky Dancing,” added Rainboom. “You’re sister makes a fine living performing gracefully for thousands of ponies,” replied Rainbow. “So what has Sapphire been doing,” Midnight said changing the subject. “She has trying to make up a routine. I mean she may be Rarity’s daughter, but she isn’t that grateful,” said Soarin. “Well it is Sky Dancing. It would probably help if she had wings,” Rainboom said. Rainbow then gave her son another slap. “I feel so bad for her. She’s just trying so hard. Sapphire has been at it for at least six hours now. She can’t remember parts of her routines, she can’t do things she wants to put in her routines, and like Soarin said, she isn’t that graceful,” replied Rainbow. “Have you guys told her anything yet,” asked Midnight. “Well we just can’t say something. She’s part dragon. Who knows what she’ll do to us. I don’t want my wings to be burnt to a crisp,” exaggerated Rainboom. “Um she can’t even breathe fire,” replied Midnight. “Well okay don’t need to be all exact about everything.” “Well he does have a point. She is part dragon and we don’t know what she can do. Since you’re her best friend maybe you could talk to her. I mean you can talk to her about anything without being scratched or bitten,” said Soarin. “Well there was that one time....” The three pegasus looked at her in concern. “Never mind I’ll go talk to here.” Midnight walked over to the purplish/whitish unicorn/dragon. “Um...Hi Sapphire.” “Oh hello Midnight. What brings you here,” asked Sapphire. “What are you doing?” “I’m practicing my routine. Okay so it was step, step, kick, and twirl..,” Sapphire said as she fell while twirling. “Okay need to work on that,” she said depressed. “Are you okay,” she asked. “Yeah, I was just practicing my routine. I don’t really want to practice anymore.” “Why don’t you stop or at least take a break.” “Midnight I can’t. it’s my special talent.” Once Sapphire said that Midnight didn’t know what to say anymore. “You still remember how I got my cutie mark right,” asked Sapphire. “Oh you know what I think I know, why don’t you tell me how.” “Well I was eleven and I performed for..something and got my cutie mark. Don’t know how the clouds come in though.” “Dear Celestia that is all wrong. Except for the eleven part. You were out with your parents to find gems. It was the first time you ever went with them. You saw your mom using magic to find the gems and your dad digging them up. You were so interested you were able to find and dig up gems. You were surprisingly better than your parents.” “Whatever were you thinking,” asked Sapphire. “I’m not just making this up. That’s how it happened.” “Why are you making things up.” Sapphire started getting tense. “Never mind. I..I gotta go.” Midnight wanted to stop the converstation before she got Sapphire mad. “Oh Midnight if I upset you I...” “No...No it’s fine.” “Oh okay. Bye.” “Bye.” Midnight walked away with her head down. She was upset because she couldn’t get through to all five of her best friends. “Couldn’t get to her,” asked Rainbow. Midnight nodded. “Hey. Don’t worry. If you’re anything like your mother, you’ll figure something.” “Thanks Auntie Rainbow.” Midnight walked all the way back to the castle, not knowing what to do now. > Oh Why > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midnight walked inside the castle all upset. She couldn’t believe she couldn’t get through to them. What was she supposed to do now? As she walked towards her room, her siblings spotted her. “Hey Midnight! How did it go,” asked Starlight. Midnight didn’t answer. “Hey what’s wrong sis?” Midnight walked into her room, onto her bed, and started crying. “What’s up with her,” said Flashlight. “This is all your fault,” yelled Starlight. “What?! Why is it my fault?!” “You’re the one who pressured her into casting the spell. Now her friends’ cutie marks are switched, and she can’t get through to them,” she yelled. Flashlight began thinking about what his younger sister had said. She was right. If he had just left it alone all this wouldn’t have happened. He looked back at his older sister. Even though he and his sisters had a love-hate relationship, he hated seeing his sisters upset. “What should we do,” Flashlight asking Starlight. “I guess we could talk to her,” said Starlight. The two ponies walked into their older sister’s room. “Hey Midnight. You okay,” asked Starlight. Midnight shrugged her shoulders, her face still in her pillows. “Listen Midnight, I apologize for making you cast that spell. It’s my fault this is all happening,” said Flashlight. “You’re forgiven, but it’s not going to turn things back to normal,” said Midnight. “I feel like there’s something more to this than our brother making you cast something mom told you not to,” said Starlight knowing her sister. “It’s just, I thought I was close enough to my friends to the point that I thought i could get through to them in any situation, but I guess not.” “Don’t worry. You’ll find a way,” said Flashlight. “I have to find a way, to make this all okay. I can’t believe this small mistake could have so much heartache,” said Midnight. “Like I said, don’t worry you’ll-” “I’m losing promise, I don’t know what to do. I’m seeking answers in fear I won’t get through, to you. Wait I mean them.” “You’re starting to sound like Before The Wings Mom,” said Flashlight. “Am not.” “Are too.” “Am not.” “Are too.” “AM NOT!” “ARE TOO!” “HEY! How about we figure something out,” said Starlight. “I don’t know. Oh why did this have to happen to me. I think I’m gonna give up and just wait until mom gets home.” Flashlight and Starlight looked at each other. The decided to leave their sister alone and let her have alone time. “Do you have an idea of what to do to help,” asked Starlight. ‘I’m not thinking a what do to do to help. I’m thinking more of a who we can get to help.” “So who?” “I’ll tell you later. I gotta go.” “Okay,” Starlight said not knowing what he meant. Flashlight left the castle and flew to Carousel Boutique. “Oh hi Flashlight how have you been,” asked Spike. “Hi Uncle Spike. Can I ask you a favor,” asked Flashlight. “Sure kid what can I do for ya?” “I need you to send three letters.”
