I'm glad I can't tell you that this story is filled with sorrow, drama, and possibly death. I'm glad that I can't tell you that at the end of this story, everypony who was involved was cursed to a life of dread. I can, however tell you that this is a story that will indeed be happy, whether you want it to be or not. For this is a story of Pinkie Pie. If you hate partying, cake, or amazing adventures, please leave now. You are probably more suited for a fanfic like Cupcakes. But seriously, stay here, and let me change the way you see the world of Equestria.

It all starts with an incredibly pink equine in the magical land of Equesetria, doing what she does best.

"Baking cupcakes!" Pinkie said to nopony in particular.

"Oh, you're silly! I was talking to you!"

What? Pinkie, stop it. Ponies don't like it when stories start off with the fourth wall being broken!

"Oh, I know! I was just getting kind of bored because you talk a lot and say boring things!"

...

Said... Pinkie...

Ahem. Anyway, Pinkie was making cupcakes. She took a cup of flour and added it to the mix. After, she took a bit of something sweet, not sour, and a bit of salt, but only a pinch. Before she could add a teaspoon of vanilla, she found that she was no longer in her home. Rather, she was in a large, empty field. The field was devoid of any signs of life. Suddenly, directly in front of her, there was a butterfly.

"Hello, little guy! Are you lost? You look like you don't belong here..." Pinkie asked the flying bug. "Actually... I don't think that I belong here... Where'd my house go??"

"Greetings, Pinkie. I am the guardian of Equestria, and I am afraid that I bring bad news." the butterfly replied.

"Oh my gosh!" Pinkie yelled. "I found a bit! Oh, wait, that's not a bit..."

"Pinkie, are you listening?"

"Yeah-huh! You said that Equestria is in trouble and that I have to bake a cake to save it!"

"That's not what I... I mean, I was GOING to say that... But let me be a bit more specific."

The butterfly flew off, a trail of sparkles behind him. Where once there was nothing, there was now an image of Ponyville engulfed in flames. Nopony was to be seen, and there was no evidence that anypony ever even lived there besides the houses.

"This is what lies in store should the dark forces at work get what they desire."

"Oh my gosh! That's terrible!" Pinkie gasped.

The image panned, showing more of what would happen. The thing that first caught Pinkie's eye was a peculiar yellow tree with pink leaves.

"Is... Is that...?"

"Yes... Yes it is."

"So... She..."

"Yes. Fluttershy turned into a tree."

Pinkie tried to keep from laughing, but found that she was unable to keep control.

"It's not funny. It's terrible. Imagine how she must feel, being a tree and all."

"But she wanted to be a tree! She even said so! She wanted to be able to see the birds even closer than she already can."

"There are no birds."

Pinkie gasped.

"Now, I need to show you the ingredients for the cake. It is much like the ingredients for your cupcakes, but the quantity of the ingredients is much higher. Also they are sacred." the butterfly added.

"You don't SOUND very guardian-y... Are you SURE you're a guardian?" Pinkie asked.

"Yes, I truly am the guardian of Equestria."

Pinkie stared at the butterfly suspiciously for a while before breaking off. "Okie doki loki!"

The image of the burning Ponyville faded, and in it's place stood one of the Everfree Forest.

"The first ingredient is a bag of flour made from poison joke. This will be a difficult task considering the tendencies of the plant, but a bag is already prepared. Unfortunately, this bag is in the middle of a large field of poison joke. Be careful in retrieving it." the image faded, and Pinkie found herself back in her home, the butterfly gone.

"Once you find the flour, the next ingredient will be revealed to you. Good luck, Pinkamena."

"Bye, Mr. Guardian!"

Pinkie paused a bit, forgetting what she was doing before the vision. She looked at the bowl of nearly finished cupcakes, deciding that they could wait a while. After all, Pinkie needed to save Equestria!

She went and found Gummy quickly.

"Gummy, I am recruiting you to help me save Equestria! What say you?"

Gummy blinked lazily at the pink pony.

"Excellent answer!" Pinkie yelled before putting Gummy in a saddlebag that Pinkie wasn't wearing just a second ago.

The two ran out the door, of to start their amazing adventure.
