	Yosh and Spike were in the playroom in Canterlot Castle. Both eager to start another day of studies.

"What do you think we'll learn today?" asked Spike.
"I really would like a play day," stated Yosh. "My legs and arms want to go, go, go!"
"Just like your beak," muttered Spike.
"What was that?" asked Yosh.
"Uh, nothing," Spike replied with a grin.

The two continued to play with their toys until Princess Celestia entered into the room.
"Good morning, boys," she said. "It's time for your studies."
Yosh moaned.
"Now, Yosh," stated Celstia. "Not everyday can be be a play day."
"But I love swimming, and running, and fluttering, and-"
Yosh was cut off by Spike who clamped his colleague's beak with his hand.
"So what are we going to learn today, Mommy?"
Celestia chuckled and shook her head.
"Please," she said. "Remember to call me Princess."
Spike blushed.
"Whoops!" he exclaimed. "I forgot."
"That's alright," replied Celestia. "Now would you kindly let go of Yosh's mouth?"

Spike thought for a moment before releasing his grip.
"Why do you do that?" asked Yosh.
"Because you talk too much," replied Spike.
"I do not talk too much!" exclaimed Yosh.
"Yes you do!" cried Spike.
"Enough!" commanded Celestia.

Both boys stood at full attention without so much as a peep.
"That's better," said Celestia. "I've brought you presents today."
"Presents?" asked Yosh. "What kind of presents?"
Celestia used her magic to levitate a raggedy plush pony from her saddlebag.
"This first one is for Spike," she said. "It was something Twilight Sparkle herself felt you'd really appreciate."
Yosh watched as the much loved plush that appeared to be wearing a blue diaper with white speckles was gently levitated towards Spike.
"What is it?" asked Spike.
"Her name is Smarty Pants," stated Celestia. "She was Twilight's learning assistant since she was a foal. She even brought it with her to Magic Kindergarten. It was also one of the few stuffed animals she kept as she worked towards finishing her degree at the School for Gifted Unicorns."

Spike looked in awe at what had been given to him.
"And Twilight wants me to have her?" he asked.
"Yes," said Celestia as she levitated a pretend notebook and quill over to Spike. "She feels that her number one assistant is most deserving of such a special toy."
Spike was speechless as he looked into Smarty Pants' button eyes.
"Oh, wow!" he exclaimed. "This is wonderful!"
Spike took in a big sniff from the plush.
"And it even smells like Twilight!" he exclaimed.

"What about me?" asked Yosh. "Did Dawnbreak give you anything to give to me?"
"Of course," replied Celestia as she brought a rather odd looking plush from her saddlebag towards Yosh.
"What's this?" he asked staring at the bizarre toy.
"That's Wacky Duck," chuckled Celestia. "He was a beloved character from Dawnbreak's days in Magic Kindergarten and he wanted you to have it to inspire you in your studies."

Yosh eyed up the weird looking duck toy, looked at Spike's Smarty Pants, and then back at the weird plush he was now holding.
"But..." he said. "It's wall eyed and is wearing a giant diaper and-"
Yosh was cut off as the toy suddenly raised its wings and spoke.
"That's just quackers!" it cried.

"Eep!" cried Yosh.
Celestia laughed.
"I guess I forgot to say how Wacky Duck has a magical artifact inside of it that grants it speech when the holder is speaking to it."
Yosh looked down at the plush. It had teeth at the end of its bill.
"I'm part duck, right?" asked Yosh.
"As far as we know," replied Celestia.
Yosh opened his beak and felt to see if he had weird teeth like Wacky Duck had.
"Will I get those... teeth?" he asked with concern.
"I don't know," replied Celestia. "You are the first dragon-duck we've ever come across."

Spike giggled as he looked over at Yosh and extended his upper jaw so his teeth were all visible.
"I don't know, Yosh," he teased. "I think you would really look great with those kind of teeth."
"No I wouldn't!" proclaimed Yosh.

The duck-dragon looked at Wacky Duck and frowned at the thought he may end up looking like the plush.
"I don't want it!" he exclaimed.
"Oh?" said Celestia.
"Oh, Yosh," said Spike. "How could you not want something that is so like you?"
"Take that back!" cried Yosh.
"Why?" asked Spike. "You both wear giant diapers and say goofy things while waving your arms and legs around."
Yosh glared at Spike.
"I do not say goofy things!" he stated while waving his arms about wildly.
Spike laughed as Yosh was clearly illustrating how he and the plush were alike.

"Now, Spike," stated Celestia. "Just because you're out of diapers doesn't mean you should pick on Yosh for still wearing them. We all grow at different rates and we don't know how long it takes for duck-dragons to get over the baby phase."
"Yeah!" exclaimed Yosh. "It's not my fault I'm so different and nobody understands me."

The Wacky Duck plush began to wobble about the floor.
"Love yourself!" it said. "Love others and be kind, generous, loyal, honest, and full of laughter!"
Yosh stared at the plush.
"What?" he asked.
The toy came alive again.
"Laughter is quacktacular!" it said.
"That is so you," said Spike.

Yosh picked up the toy, looked at its diaper, and tugged at his diaper.
"Well," he said. "If Dawnbreak feels I should have this Wacky Duck to help with my studies than I will love it like you love that diapered pony Twilight gave you."
"It's not a diaper," stated Spike as he held the toy in front of Yosh. "They're pants. For, you know, Smarty Pants."

Yosh gazed at the very apparent diaper on Wacky Duck's body. He also noticed it was wearing a pink shirt and had a little hat with a spinner on top.
"Those teeth," he said while again feeling at his beak. "I don't want those teeth."
"What about the diaper?" asked Spike. "You do seem like wearing them."
Yosh blushed.
"And that silly hat and girly shirt are so you," Spike further remarked.

"That's quite enough, Spike," stated Celestia. "Kindness is an important component of your education. Actually, I think we'll focus on that lesson for today."
Yosh stuck out his tongue towards Spike and gave him the raspberry.
"That goes for you, too, Yosh," stated Celestia.

Celestia turned to guide the boys to where they'd be doing the day's lesson.
"That's just quackers!" exclaimed Yosh's plush.
"It's so meant for you," giggled Spike. "It even speaks at inappropriate times while being a total goof off."
"Spike!" cried Yosh.
"Do I need to give time outs?" asked Celestia.
"No, Princess," the two boys replied in unison.
"That's just quackers!" cried Yosh's toy.

Spike giggled as they made their way to start their studies. Yosh now more determined to do better at them to show Spike he was more than just a silly goof. Spike may have Twilight Sparkle but Dawnbreak Horizon had him and Yosh was going to do all he could to show that he, Dawnbreak, and Wacky Duck were more than worthy of being taken seriously.
