Everypony knows that breaking promises is a serious thing. But tonight's event could possibly break the one promise Fluttershy and Cale vowed to keep from the one person she cares about... Her son.

Pony by day, bat by night. That was the promise Cale made with Fluttershy after a misunderstanding between Toby, Lightning Dust, and Flutterbat. But on Nightmare Night, something happens to Flutterbat. And that something could possibly break the promise. Will Toby still be unaware that Flutterbat and his mom are the same? Or will he find out tonight that they are two completely different mares?

Save the Flutterbat

Two months. It's been two months since Fluttershy and I made that promise to each other that we work together by hiding a secret. Flutterbat is not Toby's mother, but a total different mare. For two months, he's been under the belief that he's been hanging out with his mother every night. And so far the switch is working surprisingly well. Even Lightning Dust is in on it. She also promised us that she'll keep her mouth shut about it whenever she's around Toby. Although the switch is working, I always have this strange feeling that Toby will eventually find out. But how will he react? What's going to happen next? These are the types of things that scares me more than what's happening tonight.... Nightmare Night.

Don't get me wrong, I like Nightmare Night. It's the fact that I'm going to be surrounded by fillies asking for candies when I made a promise to a few to give them the candies I managed to collect. And let me tell you, breaking a promise is one of the last things you want to do. Specifically on Ponyville.

I was standing in Flutterbat's cottage. I say Flutterbat because it's night right now and Fluttershy is high up in the clouds. Now she may be out of Toby's sight, but the nature loving pony still has her eyes on him. I was wearing my usual attire. A black shirt, a red leather jacket, dark pants, white socks, and dark running shoes. I was currently waiting for Flutterbat to finishing helping Toby put on his costume. Courtesy of Rarity. Just then, there was a knock on the door. I walked over to the door and opened it. "Happy Nightmare Night" Lightning Dust said with a smile. Just like me, no costume.

"Happy Nightmare Night" I responded as I allowed her in.

"Is Toby ready?" She asked.

"Not yet. His... 'Momma' is helping him put his costume on."

"Cale, I gotta ask you something."

"Sure, go ahead" I said.

"How long with this last? I mean sooner or later, Toby will soon find out that Fluttershy and Flutterbat are the..." As I heard the door open, I quickly cupped a hand over her mouth, muffling the remaining words of what she was about to say.

"Shh... Not yet" I whispered. "I promised Fluttershy not to reveal that. And you know how much it hurts her as well as other ponies on Ponyville when promises break, right?" Lightning Dust nodded her head and made a muffled noise. I removed my hand from her mouth as Toby descended down the stairs with Flutterbat hovering behind him. Toby's costume is a vampire. A white long-sleeved short, black pants, black socks, black shoes, and a black cape. Black on the outside, red on the inside. The collars of the cape were upwards just how Dracula wears it. I remember helping Pinkie Pie shop for things she needs for tonight and she came across these fake fangs small enough to fit Toby's mouth. How she knew about his costume was beyond me. But hey, she's Pinkie Pie. To this day, I'm still wondering how she knew about the spare piece of gum I had in my back pocket. Word of advice, whenever Pinkie Pie points something out about you, don't question about it. You won't get the answer you're looking for. Matter of fact, you probably won't get an answer at all.

"Wow Toby" Lightning Dust said with a smile. "You look scary."

"Thank you" Toby said. It didn't surprise me that Toby sounded a little funny with the fake fangs in his mouth. I mean don't we all sound different with something in our mouths? I looked at the clock and smiled.

"All right, time to go from house to house, get candy, and even play some of the games out there!" As I led them out, Lightning Dust turned to me.

"I heard Princess Luna comes every Nightmare Night."

"She does... But her time of arrival is very surprising." As I stepped out of the cottage, I closed the door and locked it.

"Psst" I heard a soft voice. I glanced up and saw Fluttershy crouching on the cottage rooftop. "Keep him safe, ok?"

"Don't worry. With Lightning Dust and Flutterbat by his side, he's as safe as ever. Plus, there are other ponies out there and Princess Luna will arrive at some point. What can happen?" I bid her goodbye and sprinted up to the group. "Hey, wait up" I said as I caught up with them. As we walked past a bush, we didn't notice a pair of yellow eyes watching us. It wasn't trying to prey on me, it was ignoring Lightning Dust, and it's not focusing on Toby (Thank God). No... These yellow eyes are focused on Flutterbat.

The first thing I did when we reached the square was running for the large barrel of apples. "Hey Toby, watch this" I said as I dunked head first into the water.

"Hey ponies, follow me! We'll have so much fun!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed as several young fillies and colts followed her (the young ones that followed her in Luna Eclipsed). However, Pinkie Pie was so excited, she accidentally knocked me into the barrel. I popped my head out if the water, coughing and laughing. Lightning Dust and Toby laughed as well. Though Flutterbat's laugh sounded more like hisses. I climbed out of the barrel and shook some water off me.

"Every time..." I said. "Every time I get knocked into that." Toby turned to his mother.

"Momma, can I join Pinkie Pie and the others?" Flutterbat looked at him worriedly.

"Don't worry, I'll watch him" Lightning Dust said. Flutterbat smiled and nodded. Lightning Dust led Toby over to Pinkie Pie and her group of fillies and colts.

"Hey Toby!" Her unmistakeable excited shout rang. I walked over to Flutterbat and rubbed the back of my head. Flutterbat and I have been friends for so long, I wasn't too sure if it's coming to a point where she wouldn't mind being my special somepony on Hearts and Hooves Day.

"So how are you liking posing as Toby's mother?" I asked. She made a series of soft hisses and screeches.

"I know you want to be his friend, but I made a promise to Fluttershy. Ok... I promise you, once he finds out that you and Fluttershy are two different mares, then you could be his friend." Flutterbat looked at me worriedly and made a soft noise.

"Oh yeah... I forgot" I said. It's not the fact that him finding out sooner or later that's bothering us. It's how he's going to react when he does find out. Just then, a few fillies approached me.

"Happy Nightmare Night Cale and Flutterbat!" They exclaimed.

"Hey, Happy Nightmare Night!" I shouted with joy. I completely forgot that a lot of pony folks here know about Flutterbat. But they don't know about the switch she is doing with Fluttershy.

"Cale, do you want to go house to house with us?" A unicorn mare asked.

"I uh..." I turned to Flutterbat for help. She just smiled, showing me her fangs. "You're no help at all" I whispered. The overlapping pleas of the young ones in front of me were so loud, I couldn't even hear my own whisper. "Sure, I'll go with you" I said. Flutterbat let out soft hissed laughter as I chaperoned the young ones. Just then, her bat-like ears twitched. She turned her head and scanned across the area. Seeing nothing, she hovered in the air where she was able to see me, Toby, and Lightning Dust unaware that watching her from another bush were the same large pair of yellow eyes.

"Ok girls" I said. "One more house and then we..." There was a loud thunderclap behind us causing us to scream. A filly jumped into my arms and trembled. I glanced up and glared at Rainbow Dash dressed as a Shadowbolt laughing on a dark cloud.

"Oh you guys are easy to scare!" She laughed louder. I watched Flutterbat slowly descend behind Rainbow Dash.

"Yeah, you got us big time" I said sarcastically. I gestured Flutterbat to make her move. Rainbow Dash was soon finished laughing.

"Ok, I'm going to go and scare some more..." As she turned around, she found herself face-to-face with Flutterbat. The latter bared her teeth and hissed loudly also making the scariest face I've ever seen. Rainbow Dash screamed and flew away. The scary face vanished and it was replaced with a smile and hissed laughter. The fillies and I laughed at the little payback.

"Oh that was a good one" I said, catching my breath. "Come on, let's start getting more candy" I said. Before Flutter bat could follow, her ears perked again. She turned around fast but didn't see anything. She shook it off and flew after us. A silhouette of a pony followed her so discreetly, no one around Ponyville square knew it was even around.

My group and I caught up with Pinkie Pie's group. "Look Cale" Toby said as he approached me with a pillow case full of candy. "Look how much candy I have!" I peeked inside and grinned.

"Oh hey, you hit the jackpot!" I exclaimed.

"He even gave some to the young ponies" Lightning Dust said.

"With that kind of generosity, Rarity would be proud."

"She taught me well" Toby said. Just then, the skies began to darken.

"Is there a storm?" Lightning Dust asked over the excited shouts of the ponies. I shook my head.

"Princess Luna" I answered.

"She's coming?! I totally forgot about that."

"I know... You have so much fun going from house to house, and playing the games, you forget that she arrives." I turned to Flutterbat who recently just landed next to me. "Are you coming?" I asked her. She shook her head. "Ok. You'll stay here, right?" She nodded. I sprinted over to the crowd of ponies along with Lightning Dust, Toby, Pinkie Pie, and the young ones. Soon everypony was on the other end of the square, even the Pegasus watched while perched on clouds. The only one who didn't join was Flutterbat. It was like she didn't feel the same excitement she had. Just then, the pony shrouded in black with large yellow eyes crept up behind her. It clamped one hoof over Flutterbat's mouth, and a foreleg around her waist. Flutterbat thrashed and struggled, hisses and screeches muffled by the hoof.

"Don't fight it" it whispered. The voice was female. "You're coming with me" the mysterious mare whispered as it dragged the struggling Flutterbat away. Unfortunately, the sounds of thunder crashing and the cheers almost made her cries inaudible.

Descending from the darkened clouds was a black carriage being pulled by bat-ponies. Everypony went wild and cheered at Princess Luna's arrival. I recall am event where she tried to fit in but was failing. After that misunderstanding cleared up, she didn't mind visiting very Nightmare Night. Princess Luna emerged from the carriage. "Citizens of Ponyville!" She exclaimed, using the Canterlot voice. "I have returned!" Her voice was so loud and booming, I felt myself fly backwards and tumble across the ground, eventually bumping into the barrel of apples. I got to my feet, groaning in pain. I looked around and noticed something was off.

"Flutterbat?" I asked, looking around. I moved far away from the crowd of cheering ponies so I could hear some response from Flutterbat. I cupped my hands around my mouth. "Flutterbat!" I called. I left the town square. "Flutterbat!" I tried again. "Flutter....," I stopped and spotted something on the ground. I approached it and examined it. Hoofmarks being dragged. I glanced back at the crowd. Good, they're unaware about my disappearance. I gotta time this perfectly. It's all that counts. I rushed back to my house, entered, and ran up the stairs. I entered my room and opened a drawer. I stared at the contents thoughtfully. A handgun, a silencer, and a few mags. I began to talk quietly to myself. "I gotta find her before Fluttershy finds out" I said as I picked up the handgun. I grabbed the silencer and screwed it on. "Worse, I have to find her before Toby finds out." I grabbed a mag, inserted it into the gun, and tucked tucked the gun into my inner jacket pocket, and closed the drawer.

As I turned around, I found myself face-to-face with Fluttershy and she looked really worried. "Where's Toby?" She asked.

"He's with Lightning Dust and the citizens of Ponyville" I answered.

"And where's Flutterbat?" She asked.

"That's what I'm going to find out" I said.

"What?" She asked, shocked. She followed me out of the room and down the stairs.

"I found some hoofmarks being dragged off somewhere. I'm assuming its Flutterbat's because near the spot where she stood."

"Cale, this is terrible" Fluttershy said. "If Toby finds out she's gone, he'll cry so miserably, nopony can comfort him and make him stop."

"No one but you" I said. She nodded.

"Exactly. Only I can calm his loud displeasing cries. Please Cale, you gotta find Flutterbat before he finds out."

"I'll do my best" I said.

"And I'm afraid I can't show myself to him. Not until Princess Celestia raises the sun." I gave her a hug.

"I won't let you down."

"I know you won't." I rushed out of the house and discreetly ran over to the spot with the drag marks. Once I found them, I glanced back at Fluttershy and saw her closing my door, then taking flight so she could be undetected by Toby. I sprinted into the pathway, keeping my focus on the drag marks close. I've been in Ponyville for so long, if I ever get lost, I know my way around. But losing the trail means Toby losing his 'mother'. And in my case, losing my friend. I have to find her... And fast before Toby cries. And when he cries, half of Ponyville could hear him and I don't want that. And neither does Fluttershy.

Inside a dilapidated looking house, Flutterbat was lying on her side. Ropes bound her wings together, her forehooves were bound together, and her hind hooves were also bound together. A thick strip of white cloth gagged her. She stared coldly at the mysterious pony by the window with her red vampiric eyes. "I've been watching you for quite some time Flutterbat" the mare said. Said mare was cloaked and hooded and was currently standing by a window looking at the large full moon in the sky. "Yeah... I know your name. Your friend talks to you all the time. What was his name? Cale?" The mare turned around and approached Flutterbat. "You must be wondering I've been watching your every move, sticking to the shadows, huh?" As she got nearer, Flutterbat struggled against the ropes and let out muffled hisses beneath the cloth. "Don't bother. Those ropes can't be torn. Not even the strongest pony can tear it." The mysterious mare's yellow eyes was sending chills down Flutterbat's spine. Said bat pony stared at her captor, her once red menacing eyes now wide with fear and was whimpering. "Do you want to know why I've been stalking you?" She asked. "You must be dying to know."

The trail led me to a dilapidated house. Why this kind of house was near the outskirts of Ponyville was beyond me. All that mattered to me now was getting Flutterbat out if there and back to Toby before he realizes she's gone. I approached the door and examined it. I pushed the door lightly and creaked open. I pulled out my handgun and cocked it. I stepped inside slowly, careful not cause more damage to this building than it already is. Every step I took, wood creaked. There were cracks and holes on the walls, floors, and even the ceiling. Furnitures looked like they were coming apart, the stairs looked like they're about to break any second, and doors were slightly hanging off their hinges.

I heard a faint female voice coming down the hall. I turned my attention to the direction where said voice was coming from. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my silenced handgun. I cocked it and walked down the hall, following the voice.

Back in Ponyville, every pony was having so much fun with Princess Luna, they didn't even notice that I was gone. Toby and Lightning Dust were walking around the square eating one of the treats Toby received. The young human boy had to remove his fake fangs I. Order to bite into his candy. "Are you having fun, Toby?" Lightning Dust asked.

"I sure am" he said excitedly.

"That's good to hear" she responded. Toby looked around. "Hmm? Is something wrong?" Lightning Dust asked.

"Where's Cale?" He asked. Lightning Dust looked around. "Why isn't he here?"

"I'm sure Cale is around. Ponyville is a big place."

"You're right" Toby said. "He's probably walking around like he normally does." He looked around once more. Perched on a nearby rooftop was Fluttershy. She wore a hopeful look on her face. "Lightning Dust?" He asked.

"Yes?" She asked.

"Where's mom?"

"What?"

"I don't see momma anywhere."

"She's probably with Cale."

'Oh dear...' Fluttershy thought to herself. 'Hurry Cale, Toby looks like he's about to cry...' Toby took a breath.

"Ok" he said. "They're just probably talking to each other somewhere in Ponyville, right?"

"Right" Lightning Dust said. Fluttershy sighed with relief.

Back in the house, the mysterious mare held a knife between her teeth. "You bat ponies sicken me" she said as she approached Flutterbat. The bat pony struggled and screeched from under the cloth. "Imagine the rewards I'll get when I eliminate the bat pony resident of Ponyville!" Flutterbat shut her eyes tightly and whimpered.

I kicked the door open, startling the two mares. "Flutterbat!" I gasped. She glanced at me and widened her eyes while letting out muffled hisses and screeches,

"You must be Cale" the mare said. "The one who cares about this Flutterbat."

"You didn't answer my question" I said. "What's your purpose with Flutterbat? Why snatch her?" The mare turned to me and stared with her large yellow eyes.

"Because I want to. I stalked her because I can. I wanted to kidnap her because I felt like it."

"Bullshit" I spat. "I know you got a reason" I said.

"Bat ponies sicken me" she said. "Creatures like her should be in Tartarus! Not here on Ponyville!"

"Says the mare with the knife. Trying to commit a crime, are you?"

"No! I'm doing Ponyville a favor! Bat ponies are demons! Bats suck blood! And with a hybrid like her around, she'll start picking off ponies young and old one by one until there's none left! And I'm going to finish her off!" I stood between Flutterbat and the hooded and cloaked mare.

"You touch my friend, and you're going to wish you hadn't in the first place." The mysterious mare laughed.

"You don't scare me."

"No?" I asked. I shot her in the leg. The mare shrieked and fell to the floor.

"Why would you hit a mare?" She asked as I approached her. "Why?" I removed the cloak. The mare indeed had yellow eyes. She had a black coat, a white mane and tail with silver streaks on them. Her cutie mark is a wooden stake. I'm not surprised.

"Bat Hunters" I said. "Any bat you see, you want to kill. From the harmless fruit bat, to the menacing vampire fruit bat, and you'd go as far as killing a bat pony."

"I hope you rot in Tartarus" she spat. "There are more like me... Much more!"

"Great" I said. "They just lost one member." I aimed my gun at her head. "Flutterbat, you may want to close your eyes" I said. Flutterbat shut her eyes tightly and made a muffled whimper.

'A shepherd I shall be
For Thee my Lord for Thee
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
That my feet may swiftly carry out Thy command
So I shall flow a river forth onto Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be
In Nomine Patri
Et Filli
Spiritus Sancti'

I pulled the trigger, getting the bat hunting mare in the head. I tucked the gun away and grabbed the knife from the floor. I rushed over to Flutterbat and removed her gag. After I sliced the ropes, Flutterbat wrapped her forehooves and wings around me, crying softly. "It's ok" I whispered. "You're safe now." And then I heard it... The one thing I was hoping I wouldn't hear.

"MOMMA!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!" And following that was a loud wail.

"Oh shit" I whispered. "We gotta get to Toby" I said. "I can't break a promise" I said. Flutterbat tried to fly, but her wings were bound so tightly, they were sore. "Damn it" I muttered. I picked her up bridal style and rushed out of the room, and out of the house, leaving the dead Bat Hunter.

The more I heard Toby's wails, the more adrenaline it gave me. I can't fail Fluttershy. I promised her that I wouldn't let Toby know that they are not the same. His wails were getting louder and louder which means I was getting close. Suddenly, from running so hard and so fast, I sprained my ankle. I cried out in pain and fell to the ground. As I fell, my leg scraped against a jagged rock. I had a sprained ankle, and a nasty wound. Flutterbat looked at me with worry. "Flutterbat!" I yelled as I applied pressure to the wound. "Go to Toby! I can't break a promise!" I yelled. I groaned in immense pain. Flutterbat glanced at the direction that led to Ponyville where Toby, the young boy she helped care for was crying loudly. Then she glanced at me. A friend she made ever since she saw me eating that one apple. However, she knew a promise was made to keep the young boy from knowing the truth, and I, her friend, am bleeding so severely, any more blood loss, and I could die. Toby's cries were now at a point that if Fluttershy waits any longer, she has to show herself to her son and comfort him. Flutterbat can only choose one. Break a promise and save a wounded friend, or go to Toby, and comfort him while the human that saved her bled to death. A tear fell down her face. She made her choice.

I smiled when she approached. Smiling, because she's going to apologize to me for leaving me because she has to hold her end of the promise. But my smile vanished when tried helping me. "Flutterbat, what are you doing?" I asked. "Toby needs you!" She glanced at me and pointed to the amount of blood on the ground. "Flutterbat, I promised Fluttershy! Don't do this!" I begged. Toby's cries were getting worse and so was my wound. Just then, she had an idea. She frantically made hisses and soft screeches. "Yeah" I said with agreement. "Have Fluttershy come to me and heal my wound while you comfort Toby! Excellent idea." Flutterbat frantically galloped down the pathway. She was nearing Ponyville. When she emerged from the pathway, she stopped and had a shocked look on her face.

In front of her was Fluttershy. Comforting Toby. The other ponies including Princess Luna was there comforting him as well. "Momma's here" Fluttershy whispered. "Don't cry... Momma's here" she said softly. Flutterbat galloped back to where she left me and stopped. I was lying on my side, groaning in pain. So much pain, that I couldn't even move. Flutterbat galloped over to me and tried nudging me with her forehooves. She let out wails of her own. Wails more heartbreaking than Toby's. After a few more seconds of wailing, help arrived.

I stirred in my sleep and opened my eyes. When I did, I saw Fluttershy standing by the foot of the bed. Looking around, it was very clear that I was in her cottage. My lower half was wrapped in a blanket and I could feel thick bandages wrapped around my right leg. "I'm sorry" I said. Fluttershy looked at me confused.

"For what?" She asked.

"For breaking your promise." Fluttershy approached the side of the bed and looked at me.

"Cale..." She said softly.

"Look you have every right to yell at me, have Angel the bunny to beat me with a frying pan, matter of fact, just give me The Stare and tell me how upset you are for breaking a promise. Tell Pinkie Pie what I did and have her get mad at me as well."

"Cale...!" She said loudly but still had that soft tone. I stopped talking and looked at her with feared-filled eyes.

"Flutterbat told me everything" she said.

"She did?" I asked. Fluttershy nodded.

"She said that by the time Toby started crying, you were on your way to Ponyville, but you injured yourself badly while trying to get to him. She couldn't leave you injured and losing all that blood. You should be proud she chose to stay by your side."

"But Toby" I said.

"Is at Ponyville Square enjoying Nightmare Night. He understands everything now. He knows that we are two different mares."

"How'd he take it?"

"Actually Cale, he took it very well. He said he's happy that he has a bat pony as a friend... And 'mother' on occasions."

"That's good to hear" I said, relaxing my muscles. Fluttershy pulled back the blanket and looked at the bloodstained bandages around my right leg.

"You know what amazes me?" I asked.

"What?" She asked.

"Even though you're not a unicorn, you still have a very natural gift of treating an injury... Even serious ones."

"That's so sweet Cale" she said. I laughed softly.

"Ok, I don't know what you added to my leg, but I don't feel the sting anymore."

"A remedy Angel and I cooked up. The effects must have kicked in while you were asleep."

"How long was I out?" I wondered.

"Two hours" she answered.

"Only?" I asked. "I thought I would be knocked out even longer than that."

"Like I said... Little remedy we cooked. Sorry I can't tell you the ingredients. It's a secret."

"Sure thing... I won't ask again." I could hear the cheers of the ponies outside. "Can you help me up? I wanna join the fun."

"Ok" she said with a nod. I pulled back the covered and quickly covered myself back up when I saw that I only had socks and boxers on.

"Sorry about that" I said. Fluttershy giggled and pointed to the pants hanging on the chair with her hoof. "I uh..." I said, glancing from the chair to the blanket covering my lower half.

"I won't look" she said. I steadily got out if bed and carefully made my way to my pants. I grabbed said pants and slowly out them on. I didn't want to make the wound any worse nor do I want to tear the bandage. After putting them on, I slipped on my shoes and tied them. "Are they on?" She asked.

"Yeah" I answered as I straightened my jacket. We both headed towards the door and made our way down the stairs. I noticed that the pants lacked bloodstains and no tears. It then hit me... Rarity isn't the only one who can clean clothes and is good with putting clothing back together. "Say Flutterhsy?" I asked as I opened the door for her.

"Yes?" She asked.

"That remedy you made for the wound on my leg.,, have you made it before?" I asked as we stepped out.

"Of course" she said with a smile. "I use it on my animal friends sometimes." The two of us made our way to Ponyville Square where Nightmare Night was still going on.

"Cale!" Toby cried out as he ran over to me. He stopped and wrapped his arms around my midsection. I stifled a pained grunt from the impact he made to my leg. "How are you feeling?" He asked.

"I'm all right" I answered. 'Kind of' I added in my mind. Lightning Dust approached me and patted my shoulder with a forehoof.

"You're a tough human" she commented.

"Thanks" I said. Princess Luna spotted and approached me. I tried to bow, but couldn't, due to the bandage.

"Bowing won't be necessary" Cale" she said. "We are glad that you are feeling better."

"Thank you, Your Majesty" I said.

"Come. Now that you are here, the fun has been doubled." She sprinted over to a game involving tossing fake spiders. Flutterbat approached me with a concerned look. She made a soft hiss,

"Yeah, I'm all right." She then wrapped her forehooves around me and pulled me close. "Uh... Flutterbat?" I asked as she was about to kiss me. "We kinda have visitors" I said. She turned her head and saw Lightning Dust and Toby. The former covered the katter's eyes with a forehoof.

"Don't worry about us" she said with a smile.

"Now wait a minute" I said. "You can't just..." Flutterbat wrapped her wings around our heads to hide is kissing each other from every pony. After the quick kiss, she lowered her wings and released me from her hold. "Well um..." I said, clearing my throat. "Happy Nightmare Night Flutterbat." She tried to say it back, but it all came out as hisses and soft noises. Lightning Dust removed her forehoof from Toby's eyes. "Come on, there's so much games to play, candies to collect... Let this be one Nightmare Night we'll never forget!"

And it so happened to be just that. Games were played, candies were collected, even stories of past Nightmare Night events were told to the ones who's experiencing Nightmare Night for the first time. Pinkie Pie still led her small band of young ones to houses, to the games, and they even traded some candies they collected. Rainbow Dash was up to her tricks scaring everypony with the thunderclap. But every time she tried to scare me, Flutterbat would always beat her to it. I took occasional glances at Toby playing with Flutterbat who he now calls her a friend. I wish I was there to see that tender moment accepting the fact that the Flutters were not the same pony. Well at least he took it well. During the night, there are moments where Flutterbat and I would take glances at each other and I think it's bound to happen. Come Hearts and Hooves Day, she'll be my special somepony, and I'll be her special somebody. I was right on one thing though. After the event, which took so long, that in the end, we all stayed up all night just to see Princess Celestia raise the morning sun. This year's Nightmare Night, is one night, neither of us will ever forget.
