Equestria daily article of the day: Humans are very rare and wild animals. They are so rare, that they're on the brink of extinction. After an interview with miss. Lyra Hlarings, we have learned that over 30 humans are killed each day, either by each other, hunters, or other wild animals. The average male human has been spotted only twice in the past two years, while the average female human is seen about 20 times within that time period. Needless to say, females are way more common than males. It is a mystery as to why there aren't very many males, but many human experts say it is because they fight to the death for dominance. However, humans can also make great pets ( For those who can afford one, as they are one of the most expensive animals in equestria ), after becoming fully trained. This has been yet another great article for the one and only Equestria daily. Yours truly, Blacky Inkwell.

Alessandro was always on the move, from the day he was born, right in one of the great forests of Equestria, well, just a few minutes ago. As of now, he rested his back against a tree, because, he was, as some people say, plum tuckered. He had been traveling to his new home for what seemed like ages now. But, despite all this, he was determined to stay strong. After all, he was used to this by now. Alessandro was a fairly tall, lightly tan sixteen year old human with bright blue eyes, and waved black hair. He also had a small set of muscle, but honestly, he didn't much care, because he had earned that muscle at a price. He had gained it from building and rebuilding homes for himself, moving gigantic logs, and tracking up long mountains. He also had to do all of this very discretely, as not to attract hunters, or any other pony or creature. He knew that he must avoid ponies at all costs, because they were not only dangerous, but they humiliated humans as well. Or so he heard. After a while of rethinking his past, and upcoming decisions, he was on his way again. He would arrive at his destination in a few hours, he contemplated by looking at the sun. He just had to keep on moving. On his way, he stumbled upon something shiny on the path. It was a pocket knife. He decided to keep it just in case he needed it in the future. Now, Alessandro wouldn't use it for violence, but he may use it to help him prepare food, or get him out of a sticky situation. Bottom line, he had a feeling that he would need it. A few hours later, he finally reached his destination. Or so he thought. It had just looked very close. It would really take him another few hours to get there. " Oh such a fool I've been, how could I have not seen the long valley beyond the hill that leads to my new home?", he thought. It was now getting pretty late, as he could tell by the setting sun, and the chirps of the crickets. So, he decided to go to sleep for the night. As he was lying down on the soft grass, however, he heard a noise. He looked around and his eyes came upon something horrible. There, not too far from him, was a bear. Trying to be discreet as possible, he slowly moved away from it, but with his luck, he stepped on a twig. The bear snapped its head to look at him. He then ran as far as he could. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime, he lost it. He was well out of breath now, and it was way past dark. He looked around and noticed that he was far away from the hill and the valley that lead to the great place that he wanted to call home. He sighed and took out some food he had brought for the journey, and ate his supper. Then, he went to sleep under the nice night black sky full of stars, and everything was peaceful. And the peace lasted about two seconds. He had to use the bathroom. Badly. So, he went behind a tree and relieved himself. After that he laid down and tried to get back to sleep. But he couldn't. No matter how hard he tried, be couldn't. He tried everything. Check,he even tried counting sheep. Nothing worked. So, that's how he spent his night, wide awake.

The next morning, he was very tired. He could barely keep his eyes open. After he finally woke up, he was on the move again. About three hours later he reached his destination. Services, his new home. There would hardly be any ponies there, just zebras, and he doubted that they would bother him, as humans were respected by them, and vice versa. He happily ran threw the grounds, past the watering hole, and to the cave that he would call home. He took off the bag on his shoulder and took out his most prized possessions. A book written in the pony language, which he couldn't understand (He just liked looking at the pictures), a painting he had made himself ,out of mud, of his previous home, and the bottle that he stored water in. He took them and put them on a rock that looked almost like a shelf, and put all of them there. After he admired his work, he laid his back against the wall for some well deserved rest.

The next week went by in a blur, and one day he stumbled upon a little zebra filly. She seemed very nice, but then it turned weird. She put some string around his neck, and took him to her village. She talked to the grown ups, and they gave him a food and water bowl. And that's when he realized it. He was a pet. And he thought the zebras would leave him alone. He sighed. This was going to be a long day.

And he was right. It was a long day. In fact, it was a very long week. Although Zemya, as he learned was the Filly's name (He had heard that name alot during conversations), he just couldn't see himself as a pet. So, he figured he would try to escape. After several failed attempts, he remembered the knife he had found. He quickly got it out and cut the rope. It gave away quickly enough. Just when he thought he was home free, he was caught by a large male zebra.

Several weeks later, and he was still trying to escape. One day, he noticed that Zemya was particularly sad. After a few minutes, he found out why. A Pegasus pony soon flew up with a cart that said something weird. All he could make out of it was the words dangerous and pet. He quickly got got up, and tried to run, thinking that he was going to be put down or something, but was soon caught. He spent the ride in terror, thinking of what was to come.

Unknown point of view
The mysterious cloaked figure walked through the store. The bell rang softly, notifying the clerk of their entrance. The figure strode up to the counter of the store and spoke in a gruff sounding voice. "I'm here to place a special order. I would like to buy one male human please, and make it quick please, because I don't have that much time ready to prepare for the party I have coming up. I'll be here in about a week to pickup my order." Then, the unknown figure waltzed out of the room, and the bell yet again rang, signaling their exit, making it just a tad bit more dramatic.

Back to Alessandro's point of view
The ride was a very long, suspenseful ride. Wherever they were going, it must have been far. He was so nervous, that he could barely breathe. After a long time, he finally decided to take a nap.

Alessandro was having a good time in his[ old home. He was playing with his animal friends in the river on a hot, sunny day. Everything was calm and peaceful. Everything was perfect. Then, he heard a noise. He looked up, and there was a giant pony towering above him. It was HUGE. The next thing he knew, it had him in its teeth, and flung him over its shoulder. Then, he fell. He was about to hit the ground when-/i] He woke up. He was breathing heavily. He had the same dream for the past week.

The week rolled by, and they finally stopped at a small store. The Pegasus then came into view. He had a leash. As he tried to put the leash on Alessandro, Alessandro bit him. The pegasus cried out what Alessandro could only guess was a cuss word. Before he knew it, he was out of the carriage and into the store.

Twilight point of view
Twilight headed down the street to pick up her "special order". She giggled at the prank that she had played on the poor clerk mare. She had even used some magic to make her voice sound gruff. Twilight swore that Rainbow Dash was rubbing off on her. This time, she didn't have on her cloak. She wanted to see the look on that mare's face when she realized it was her the whole time. The reason twilight was even going to the pet store was because Spike's birthday was coming up, and she wanted to surprise him with a human. She felt that Spike could relate to a male more than a female. Also, she had her own female human, and she knew that she could relate to her human more than any human. Also, male humans were really rare, but she had heard that one was spotted in Zebrica and was being sent to this pet store. She walked into the pet store and explained to the clerk that it was her who ordered the human. The look on her face was priceless. "I'm sorry princess Twilight, I didn't know it wad you", said the mare. "It's fine Feather Blossom, and please, just call me Twilight.", She said. And so,they went to look at the human.

The filthy store

Alessandro was nervous. He had never been in such a horrible place. It was very noisy, there wasn't enough to eat, and to make matters worse, there was something in his cage that he could only hope was water. All of the noise was really starting to get on his nerves. He tried to occupy his time by annoying the clerk and other employees, but that didn't end well. What had happened, was he acted like he had to use the bathroom several times, whined, and even shook the bars. It would have worked out if it wasn't so dang noisy. So, grumbling to himself, he thought of what his new "owner" would be like. He hoped that this being would at least be nice. He was snapped out of his thoughts when a purple alicorn walked into the room. He rolled his eyes. "Her majesty" was probably a no-it all pony who thought she was better than everyone else. He just couldn't wait to get to his "new home."

Twilight point of view
Twilight walked into the back of the store where the human was supposed to be. Immediately she was hit with loud noises and a horrible stench. Trying to be polite and not gag at the smell, she tried to bring up a conversation. "So, what day did this human get here?", she asked as they walked along. "Not long ago.", replied the clerk. After a few minutes of silence, they finally stopped in front of the cage where the human resided. Twilight had to keep from laughing at the look on his face. He looked absolutely furious. She had to admit though, he was a cute little thing. "How much do you want for him?", asked Twilight.
"About two hundred bits.", replied the other mare. Twilight was shocked. She had expected the price to be much higher since this was an endangered species that they were talking about. As if reading her mind, the clerk said "We have a special discount for those who buy other pet supplies.", She said, hinting towards the human essentials. Now embarrassed, twilight picked out a comfy bed, a food dish, and a water dish for the human, and some treats for owlicious. She then paid for everything and left with the human closely following on a leash.

Back to Alessandro's point of view
Alessandro was not happy to be unleashed, but he could deal with it, he supposed. The walk home was peaceful. There were birds chirping everywhere and everything felt right with the world. Before he knew it, they had reached their destination.
