What Do You See Up There?
"Should there be stars or should there be dreams in that dark sky?"
"Hey...Twilight...?" Rainbow Dash began, as Twilight and her laid on their backs upon the grass, gazing at the twinkling stars that glittered the night.
"What is it Rainbow?" Twilight replied, looking to the right as she noticed a soft smile upon the pegasus' lips.
"Do you...ever think about the stars...or sky in general?" Rainbow asked, sounding almost curious.
"Well, a bit, my dad's a seacolt. He has traveled through the entire sea as an importer and exporter, the stars are his compasses to get back home. Why do you ask?" The lavender mare questioned with a puzzled expression, rolling on her stomach and keeping her eyes trained on Dash calmly, wondering what would spur such a thought about thinking about stars.
"Well...you know...I...I always like doing challenging things and pushing myself to the limit, I was thinking why not try flying into space?" She answered rhetorically, her tone giving off a soft to embarrassed tone as if she was over thinking such things in her head.
"Dash, you know that's impossible and downright suicidal. You'll be pulled down by gravity right before you break through the third layer of the atmosphere!" Twilight stated, rolling her eyes before giving Dash a soft smirk.
"Twilight, what are you trying to say...I'm not up for it?" The light blue colored mare questioned, looking at Twilight with a sour expression.
"Dash, you know what I mean. Try not to make it seem like I'm doubting you when you tend to break through even Cowton's law." Though she was not trying to sound harsh or a killjoy, she was only stating a fact from her knowledge.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. It's just...well...I always wanted to see what the planet looked like from up there you know? I always wanted to fly through space and around the moon." Dash this time sounded sad, looking back up at the night sky with a disappointed expression. Watching how all the stars showered in there bravado.
"..."
"Hay, I want to actually fly around the planet if possible and back here in a second. If I could do such a thing, I think...,my entire life would be complete, like...my sole accomplishment. To finally touch what ponies doubted could be touched unless you're Celestia or Luna." She sounded inspired this time, even lifting her hoof to the air, as if trying to grasp space into her hoof.
"..."
"I learned a new word, some thing Rarity told me when I was talking to her how high I want to fly! It was chimera. Now I thought she was messing with me because I could have sworn she was referring to me as one of those odd things Applejack encounter back then, however she meant it in a different fashion, mostly stating that my dream to go into space, breaking through the limit no pegasi had attempted was simply an illusion of some sort; a dream or some thing that exist in my imagination." She lowered her hoof and looked at Twilight calmly.
"Dash...?"
"It didn't upset me, really, it didn't, but kind of boosted up my self-esteem. Like when Film Roll told Daring Doo the path through the mine of darkness was impossible to get through! She soon proved her wrong and got through that tunnel with ease!" Dash did not hear as she continued talking, looking back up at the sky again. But as she continued, Twilight facehoofed in annoyance before raising her voice.
"Rainbow Dash!"
"Uh! Y-yeah?" Dash stopped, and looked at her confused.
"Who is stopping you?" Twilight asked.
"Stopping me?" She questioned.
"Yeah, who is stopping you? To be honest, being the element of loyalty isn't just what makes you amazing and a great friend, but what makes you really great is that you never give up. It isn't the stubbornness that Applejack carries around a lot, but it is the pursuit to accomplish your dreams, goals, and purpose. Do you see where I'm getting at?" Twilight asked calmly, looking at Dash with a gentle gaze.
"Hmm, I do actually. I don't know, maybe there are times when I imagine some thing so great and awesome, the thought of it drives me further to accomplish it. Maybe...some day in life...I can break orbit and fly around the entire planet, you know? Go to the moon and see what it's really like than the time we were locked up in Nightmare Moon's castle. If I could have that chance...without any magic applied...I...I would be very happy." She said, smiling softly as she rolled on her stomach and getting up. Once she was up, er wings stretched out and her neck cracked, before she yawned and sat down, looking at Twilight for her response.
"Then why not make that your goal. How about we try making that dream become reality?" Twilight then asked, standing on her four hooves, smiling at Dash lightly.
"Y-you serious, like...you really want me to actually do such a thing?" Dash this time was shocked, not expecting Twilight would offer this sort of help.
"Why not, I see no reason in holding you back, but I would like to assist you just in case your life is on the line. Plus, I'll be a witness would be chuffled." She stated, rubbing her right hoof on her left foreleg. "Plus...it might he exciting you never know."
Rainbow Dash softly smiled and soon that smile spread into a wide smile as she opened her wings leaping with joy. "Then it's a plan! Let's do it, Twi!" She soon landed on the grass and blinked twice, curious to how they were going to make this successful. "Hey, Twi, how is this going to be possible?"
Twilight thought about that before she paused and softly smile. She trotted next to Dash and sat next to her as she pointed her hoof to the sky. "My dad once told me...that if you don't know the answer and you can't find it...the answer will find you in your dreams. Anything is possible...and we can make this possible."
"You mean it?" Dash asked looking up at the glittered night sky, smirking of such a dream that could possibly come true.
"Of course I do, because...well..."
"Well what?" Rainbow asked looking at her curiously.
"I believe in you." Twilight responded softly as she looked at Rainbow Dash with a gentle smile causing the Pegasus to blink twice and soon shut her eyes with a smile upon her blue lips.
"And...I believe in you..." She looked up at her as the moon's rays was upon them the silent night.
"Twilight."
