Chapter 1: Not Waking up in a Hospital Bed

“Mr. Salvator, our stock option just dropped!” A man with a black business suit with a red tie looks up from his desk that held a small stack of paper work. He moved his long, brown hair to the side and looked at the man in the eyes with his own sapphire blue ones. He shifted his toned figure to look at the co-worker better.

“You get the notifications before they are posted, correct?” The man nodded hesitantly. “Good, go back and pull out our stocks and put them under a new category. It’s a glitch in the system I found. Since we get updates before they are posted, we can move our stocks around before they are set in stone,” The man smiled brightly down at him with glee.

“Sir. . . that is genius! How did you find the glitch?” He smiled humbly and waved his hand at him.

“That is my job. My computer skills and company organization procedures is what has given me the position that I have today. It’s also the same reason why I am your boss,” The man laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head.

“I suppose you are right. I will tell them to switch stock placements,” He nodded to him and left. Hector smiled cheerfully and leaned back stretching in his chair.

“Just another day at the office,”

Hector Salvator works for a small video game company called Raven Co. that has been increasing in size at a rapid pace ever since he came into office. He is a natural with computer software of all kinds and can build top brand computers from scratch with household items.

He graduated a year early from school due to his grades. He started his second year of college at the age of seventeen, working on college assignments over the summer even during his last year of high school. He was to be the next Einstein as his class kept saying, a computer wizard. Hell, he could give Bill Gates a run for his money, maybe even surpass him.

He had a beautiful girl friend who was a writer. Nothing amazing, but she had gotten a couple of her books as best sellers. Her name was Tiffa Cardner. She had been friends with him for many years until they decided to take it a step further and started dating six months ago. They had been happily in love ever since.

They live in a royal blue house in the city of Columbus Ohio. They had money, happiness, and of course each other. Everything was going exactly they had always hoped. They had everything they could ask for and then some.

Hector packed away his things for the end of his shift, changing into his usual brown over coat and black scarf that his mother had made him long ago. Outside a window he could see a snow storm was forming. He took note of it and hurried to his car. He felt a vibration in his pants pocket, alerting him that someone was calling him on his phone.

He smiled a bit, knowing his girlfriend loved to talk to him as soon as he got out of work. She was great at the timing without missing a beat. He reached in and pulled out his cell phone with one hand and his keys in another.

“Hello, this is Hector Salvator,” said Hector as he flipped his phone open, answering in his usual business tone in case it was work.

“Well don’t you just sound so professional. It’s kinda sexy,” Hector chuckled a bit at that.

“Hey there, baby girl. How was your day today?”

“Oh you know, same old. I got some work done but I got writers block,” Hector shook his head, unlocking his car door to his jet black corvet, his old time favorite car he got for a sweet deal.

“I see, so when I get home, maybe I can help with a little. . . ‘release’,” He heard a girly giggle come through the other end.

“Well don’t you just feel lucky tonight? Well if you get home quickly, I just might need your help,” Hector smirked with confidence, cracking his neck a couple times and got in his car.

“I will be there in twenty minutes!”

“Make it ten and I’ll even add in your. . . favorite position. I’ll see you soon,” The phone went quiet and he closed his phone. They normally didn’t say good bye since he doesn’t do it back most of the time. He closed his phone and tossed it to the side. He turned on the ignition and lights, rev’ed up his car, and spun off. Outside the snow was starting to come down hard.

“About five minutes before the storm hits. Challenge accepted!” He put the petal to the metal and floored it, skidding off down the road. He wore a firm, strong smile as he sped down the highway, switching gears at rapid fire. He was getting lucky tonight, and he didn’t mind a little danger. He was a good driver so he knew he would be fine.

Hector’s phone vibrated in the seat next to him. He glanced over at it for a moment but returned his eyes to the road. He may be a good driver but using his phone and driving was something he never did. He pulled out of the highway and continued his way back home.

“Almost there. I can make it! three minutes left!” he said to himself with a smirk. He continued the way until his phone vibrated again. “She never calls twice unless it’s important, I better take this one,”

He noted a truck pulling onto the same road as him and he reached for his cell phone, keeping his eyes on the road. The phone was unfortunately out of his reach. He turned towards the phone and leaned forward more. He grabbed the phone with a victorious smile.

“Aha! I got you!” Hector flipped the phone to answer the call. “Hey baby, what’s up? I’m almost-” He turned back towards the road just in time to see the truck on his side of the road, trying to maintain control and squealing their tires. He tried to turn and slow down but the roads were covered in a layer of snow, making the roads slippery.

“Dame it!” Hector screamed as he saw the collision coming. Everything slowed down before him, the truck speeding towards him, the phone in his hand, the wheel in the other, the snow almost freezing in mid fall. He closed his eyes to embrace what was to come.

He heard the truck crash into his corvet. He felt the sudden stop. He smelt the burnt rubber, but then their was nothing, no sound could be heard, he felt a sudden wave of pain and some blood dripping down from his head.

Hector opened his eyes and found himself leaning back into his seat. He couldn’t move, his body refusing to obey his commands. He felt a chill running down his cheek and spine. He could hear someone talking from the floor of his car, but couldn’t see the source. Some straw snow slowly rolled across his face.

“Well. . . not so. . . lucky night,” He whispered under his breath with a fake smile. Blood ran down past his lips and covered one of his eyes. He smiled weakly and tried to move, but was hit hard by the pain, preventing his wanted movement.

Hector slowly closed his eyes as he felt so very weak. He took one more deep breath before feeling deaths sweet, caring embrace as the pain faded away from his figure. He heard his girlfriend’s voice from his voice in the back ground.

“Hector? Hector? What happened? Are you ok?” Of course he couldn’t answer back, no matter how badly he wanted to. He gave a weak attempt to open his eyes but failed. Her voice started fading into the darkness that enclosed him.

“Hector! Please say something, I just heard a car accident down the road. Hector?! Please say something, anything! Hector?! HECTOR!”

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Hector Salvator felt the void around him. He couldn’t hear anything, nor see nor feel. Darkness was his only guest in the new world.

“I’m guessing I died, huh? I lived a good life, I just wish I could have said good bye,” He closed his eyes and simply focused on everything he had ever done. His sixteenth birthday party and his first car, his first kiss, losing his virginity, taking his girlfriend’s virginity, getting his first job, buying his house, his girl friend.

“Tiffa. . . god do I love you,” He started feeling something hard pressed up against his back, like as if he was lying down now.

“Tiffa? Who is Tiffa?”

“Are you ok you poor creature?”

“What exactly is he?”

Voices, Hector could hear voices around him. They sounded like a bunch of girls. He tried to slowly move but all he felt was some soreness.

“Where am I?” Hector whispered weakly. He heard a couple gasps around him.

“Oh my, the ruffian actually talked!”

“Well I told ya’ll he was mumbling but ya’ll wouldn’t believe me,”

“Well I know you aren’t a liar, AJ,”

“Well that’s cause ya were snoring in a cloud when ah found it,” Hector tried to get up but felt more pain in his chest. He felt something solid press down on his chest, laying him back down.

“Don’t move, you fell from quite the height. You appear to be injured but unfortunately I do not have any medical magic to heal you,” Medical magic? What the hell are they talking about? Hector asked himself in thought. “You are in Ponyville. Have you ever heard of it before?”

Hector thought to himself but he couldn’t paint a picture, but it sounded like he has heard of the name before.

“No, I don’t think so,” He struggled to get his eyes open but when he did all he saw was a blend of colors and blurs.

“Well, it looks like he is awake now! Eypee! We should throw it a ‘Welcome to Ponyville’ party,”

“Well what is he then? It is a he. . . right?”

“Well, yes. . . I think so. He sounds like a male,”

“What are you guys talking about?” There was silence around him. He could see faces now, turning to one another, although something seemed off about them.

“Well we are just trying to figure out what you are,” Hector grunted in annoyance and pain.

“I’m a human genius! What do you think I am?” Silence greeted him once more in reply. His vision was starting to fix itself and he could see six figures surrounding him in his line of focus.

“What exactly is a human?” Hector raised an eyebrow at that.

“Well it’s what you all are you-” His vision fixed itself finally and what he saw made his jaw drop. He was surrounded by a group of horses. Two had wings, two of them had horns, and the last two appeared to be normal looking horses, ignoring the weird colors of course. “What the hell?!” They turned to each other a little confused and concerned.

“Do you think he doesn’t remember anything, Twilight?” A pink and happy looking pony asked in curiosity.

They all looked back at Hector and studied him. A blue pegasus lowered herself to the ground and walked up to him, studying him like he was a mysterious artifact.

“He must be one of those fancy types if he is wearing clothes,” A white unicorn rolled her eyes with a rude tone.

“With that attire, of course not! His attire just looks like a simple attire for a small business,”

“Hey! Raven Co. is getting bigger and bigger and has been working on some high end projects recently. We have several locations that we can be found!” Hector shook his head and put his fingers on his temples, making small circles around them. “Oh I’m getting a headache. What the hell are you?” The purple one looked around the others and returned her gaze on him.

“We didn’t mean to upset you, I am sorry,” She walked up to Hector and leaned down to him. “We are ponies, well we have different races of ponies but we work together to-” Hector waved his hand at her.

“Ok, ok, I get it,” A tannish pony with a cowboy hat walked up to him with a smug look.

“Do you really understand or are you just saying that?” Hector stared at her in anger.

“Look, what do you expect from me? All I know is I got hit by-” His expression froze at his words then they slowly faded away and were replaced with sadness. “I got hit by a truck coming home. I should be dead, but instead I ended up coming here,” They listened carefully, now understanding his confusion.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know how you got here. All I know is that we found you laying on the ground with bruises and a bandage over your head,” Hector looked at the purple pony a little while longer and raised his hand up to his head, feeling the bandages on it. He couldn’t figure out why it was there.

“Well, no matter how you got here, welcome to Ponyville!” Cried out the pink pony who then threw up a bunch of confetti into the air which slowly drifted to the ground. Hector was not impressed and was a bit annoyed from it.

“Thanks, now how do I get back to where I was from?” The purple pony wore a sad expression of her own.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know where you came from let alone how to bring you back,”

“So what you are saying is. . . is that I’m stuck here?” She nodded back at him. He let out a breath of frustration past his lips and closed his eyes. “So I am completely screwed,”

“Well ah don’t know what that last remark means, but we don’ mind lendin you a helping hoof if you need it,” Hector looked up to her in confusion?”

“Helping hoof?” The pink one jumped over to him with a large smile.

“Of course! I’ve never saw you before so I don’t know you. I know everypony in Ponyville so if you’re new then that means you don’t have any friends, and if you don’t have any friends then that means you must feel really lonely!”

“No, I don’t need friends. Never had too many of them. All they are good for is-” Before he could finish his sentence he was grabbed by the pink, hyperactive pony.

“Everything! It is so much fun to eat with your friends, to play with your friends, to party with your friends,”

“Yeah, I am not the social type ok, so back off please,” The pink pony let go to bounce around them in a large circle. Hector watched her for a bit but shook his head. “Anyway, I have no money, no job, no place, I have nothing. Is there like some sort of homeless shelter I can stay at for a week or so?”

“There ain’t no place like the around here. But ah have a barn you can sleep in till we figure out what to do with you,” The yellow pegasus one took a few cautious steps towards Hector, hiding behind her pink hair.

“Ummm, well, he can sleep. . . at my place. I mean I think I can learn about him and what he is,” The other pegasus flew over to her, making a blockade with herself using her wings and arms.

“What?! No! You can’t have that thing live with you. Who knows what it could do!” Hector felt his anger raising. They were treating him like some sort of animal.

“Look, I am not a savage dog! I am a human, not a wild animal. Look I don’t care about any of this crap, I’ll find my own place to sleep!” Hector got up slowly from his spot and fell right back onto his knees. Pain shot up through him.

“But you are injured! Oh please let me take care of you. I promise that I’ll-”

“I said I got it,” He looked down at the ground and saw his backpack. Odd, I could have sworn I left that at home. I do tend to forget about bring it though. He bent down and picked up his bag, slinging it around onto his back.

“I’m sorry that we offended you, we didn’t mean to. Let’s just relax, take a deep breath, and try to figure out how to fix the problem,” The purple one explained calmly. Hector shook his head.

“I don’t need the help. Thanks anyway,” Hector With a quick bow, he headed off in a random direction, feeling his sores with every step of the way.

“I knew it! A human!” Lyra almost shouted out. She ducked back down under a bush and snickered with glee under her breath. Bon Bon rolled her eyes.

“Honestly Lyra, I know you have always wanted to meet a human, but don’t you think that approaching him is a bad idea? I mean what if he is dangerous? What if he is rabid or if he is carrying a virus or something? He isn’t from around here,” Lyra stopped her snickering and looked at her friend.

“Look, just because we don’t know anything about this human, doesn’t mean that we should fear him. I mean who knows what he is capable of! He could grab things, he could get stuff from way high up, oh the possibilities are completely endless!”

“Umm, I don’t think he can do that much more. I mean come on, dragons have those claws, they are just like his hands,”

“Yeah but he can be really gentle and not leave claw marks when he grabs stuff,”

“Spike doesn’t leave claw marks when he grabs stuff,”

“Well he isn’t a real dragon,” Bon Bon closed her eyes and shook her head. She took a couple deep breaths and looked back up to Lyra.

“Lyra, you’re not thinking clearly. We should play it safe on this one, please trust me,” Bon Bon looked away from Lyra and gazed up into the sky. “Yes it’s true, we don’t know anything about it and yes, he could be friendly and kind, but he could be. You need to try and think before you act. Just try to watch him from afar for now,” She looked back down but Lyra was gone.

“Lyra?” Bon Bon called out quietly. She looked up to find the human walking down to the river bed, Lyra hot on his trail with a big, blissful smile. “Lyra you idiot! Does anything I say actually stick to your brain?!”

Chapter 2: Preparing for Future Collision

“HECTOR!!!” Hector jolted upright. Sweat running down his cheeks and goose bumps trailed up and down his arms like a rocky road. He panted loudly to himself, trying to calm himself down.

“It was just a dream. Relax, it was just a dream,” Hector said to himself. He looked around his surroundings to find himself under an oak tree next to a river. Everything was quiet and calm all around him. A gentle breeze caressed his bare cheek and arms, gently nipping his clothes. “Or maybe I’m still in it,”

He looked around again to find the small town of Ponyville to his right. It looked like a nice, peaceful little village. Almost too peaceful. The sky was clear of any clouds and the sun was high in the sky.

“I must have dozed off at some point. That doesn’t sound like me,” He tried to get up but he felt the soreness of his body deny his request, making him return to his sitting position. “Dame it! Why do I hurt so bad?” He asked himself in alarm. He laid back down, leaning against the tree he slept under.

“Alright, let’s try to think all of this through. What do I know right now? I’m trapped in a weird magical world of talking horses. Some of them have wings and some have horns. I have no way out of here that I know of. No job, no house, no money, all I have is-” Hector looked down at his side to see his backpack by his side. “My bag!”

Hector grabbed the backpack and placed it on his lap. He smiled for the first time that day as he unzipped the zipper. He scanned the contents of the inside and started pulling some stuff out of it.

“Ok, let’s see what we got here. My combat knife, taser, note book, my laptop and charger? Nice! Umm, my wallet that I never keep money in, figures, my headphones and. . . my phone!” Hector pulled it out a cell phone with a black case from his bag and his smile got even larger. “Yes! I can call for help now!”

Hector turned his phone on, the little robotic voice saying “Droid” letting him know that it’s turning on. His phone brought him to his main screen, the background of some skulls burning up in blue flames. His apps was loading and was making him antsy.

“Come on, come on come on! Work. Work!” Hector whispered to himself. After a moment longer the apps came on and showed he had no signal, both cell phone and WiFi. “Dame it!!” He pulled back and was about to throw his phone into the small river but stopped. “Dame it, dame it!” he calmed down a bit more and lowered his hand and put the phone back in his bag.

“It may be useless but I can still listen to music and play some games. So it’s not completely the end of the world. I still have some of my stuff left. Yeah, this could work,” His wore a small smile on his face as if trying to fool himself. “I can do this,”

“Oh wow! I’ve never seen this kind of stuff before,” Said a voice behind Hector.

“Yeah, this is all I have-” He stopped and froze. He realized he was no longer alone here. He slowly turned around to find a sea green horse with a horn staring at him with amazement burning in her golden eyes. The sudden appearance of this said horse made him jump backwards and fell onto his back.

“Opps, sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you, honest!” Hector closed his eyes and shook his head, cursing under his breath.

“it’s fine. I’m just not use to all of this. This is all so weird to me,”

“Yeah I bet. I mean one day you are in your own world and home, the next you are here,” Hector raised an eyebrow at her in suspicion.

“And how would you know about that?” The pony smiled nervously and looked away, scratch the back of her head.

“Well, I kinda saw you land here, and I’ve always wanted to see a human, so I kinda hid and listened in on your conversation with Twilight and her friends,”

“Who is Twilight?” The pony looked back at him, returning to her usual posture.

“Twilight was the alicorn who talked to you, the purple one,”

“I see, so she is an alicorn. . . What are you then?”

“Me?” Her eyes went up to her horn and then back to him with a smile. “ I’m a unicorn! The ones with wings are pegasi,”

“Uhuh. So I have fallen into a mythological world where every mythological creature I have ever read or studied are actual living beings here,” The pony who stood before him looked at him confused.

“Well, kinda, I guess. I’m not sure what that means,” Hector chuckled at that.

“My mistake. I suppose ancient legends aren’t legends here,” They sat in silence for a moment, not sure how to proceed.

“Well, umm. My name is Lyra Heartstring, it’s nice to meet you!” Hector looked at her in question but couldn’t help but smile.

“My name’s Hector Salvator. I’ve never heard of a name quite like yours before,” Lyra giggled at that.

“Thanks, your name is a little different as well. I guess that is just because you have a human name,”

“Yeah, that would make sense,” Hector tried to get up once more, this time slowly. He felt the pain wash over his form but managed to stay up with little struggle. Lyra watched him as he stood straight up, completely mesmerized by his size. Once he stood up, he was easily over a foot taller than her.

“Wow! You are so tall!” Hector looked down at Lyra and chuckled lightly.

“I guess, but by the looks of it, you guys have more of body mass so it is a sort of equal exchange of size,” Lyra looked at him funny.

“What does that mean?” Hector laughed lightly to himself.

“Sorry, I forget that sometimes. It means we aren’t so different in total size. You are thicker than me, and I am taller than you,”

“Are you saying I am fat?” Lyra asked sharply, crossing her front hooves at him and glaring. Hector shook his head annoyed.

“No, I am saying by what I have seen so far, you guys have bigger and thicker bones than me. Do you understand now?” Lyra calmed down a bit and uncrossed her arms.

“Yeah, sorry about that. So do you need a place to stay for a while? I honestly don’t mind,” Hector shook his head towards her.

“Look, that is a nice gesture, and I really appreciate it, but this is all so strange and queer to me. I am not sure I am comfortable with talking to you, let alone crashing at your place,” Lyra’s ears dropped down, her expression saddened.

“Oh, well I guess I understand. What if I promised you I won’t try anything or talk to you till you are comfortable with it?” Hector shook his head once again.

“Sorry, but I don’t think I could stay at your place for free, it just seems-”

“Then why don’t you just help me with the chores?” Hector was taken back by her sudden outburst. Her face almost looked desperate, covered by a smile. He didn’t know why she wanted him to stay so bad, but it is almost as if she was trying to help out a long lost friend or something.

“Why do you want to help me so badly?” Hector asked carefully, putting both hands behind his head and watching her for a reply. Lyra held her smile, her tail twitching behind her.

“Well. . . it’s just that. . .” Her smile faded slightly but her expression turned more like bliss. “Well you are a human. I mean to me you are like an idol, and we are raised to help fellow ponies in need, but you are included too!”

Hector was a little stunned to hear such words spoken by an animal. To think that this new world was so much softer and so much kinder than the world he had just left behind. He may not want to be here in this new realm, but it could be much worse.

“Well, I understand your standpoint in this situation. . .” He looked at her softly and her smile grew just ever so slowly. He sighed, shaking his head with his own smile poking through ever so slightly. “I guess spending a couple nights wouldn’t be-” Lyra’s smile maxed out on her face and she leaped forward with a tackle hug.

“Yes yes yes! Oh thank you so much! You won’t regret it!” Hector’s eyes were wide open in shock and pain. Her weight on him was crushing all of his sores and bruises.

“Lyra. . Lyra! Please get off!” Lyra stopped squeezing for a moment to process his request in her mind. She crawled off of him and helped him get back on his two feet.

“I’m sorry. I guess I got a little over excited, he he,” She smiled up at him innocently, making him roll his eyes.

“Yeah, a little. Anyway, so am I going to be crash at your place then? Where is it?” Lyra turned toward town and pointed to the other side of it. He bent down and picked up his backpack, slinging it over his shoulder.

“It’s across town. I know of a path way were we won’t see anypony. Come on,” She started walking down the river towards a bridge. Hector shrugged his shoulders and followed her pace.

“So why would it be a bad thing if other ponies see me?” Lyra’s ears perked up and she turned to look at him with her side vision.

“Because ponies have never seen a human before. Almost no pony has ever even heard of the name! I mean eventually everypony will know about you and come to terms with you living around here, but for now, let’s just keep you being here a little secret till I start spreading the word,” Hector looked at her questioningly but shrugged it away.

“Well, I guess that makes sense. Ok, so do you have a roommate or someone you are living with?” Lyra raised an eyebrow confused but looked back at the path.

“No, I live alone. I only hang out with Bon Bon every other day, but other than that I don’t get visitors really,” Hector nodded to the information, thinking everything over.

“Alright, sounds pretty safe. So do you have a couch I can crash on?” The unicorn walking next to him nodded but a faint blush formed under her eyes.

“Well, yes, but it is kinda small. You can sleep in my bed though, and I’ll sleep on the couch,” Hector face palmed and closed his eyes. I can already tell this is gonna be trouble.

We Truly Aren't in Kansas

Hector looked up in almost disgust at his new home. A large wooden house that looked almost unsteady. There seemed to be a hole in the roof, seeing a patch of hay missing. A window at the top was cracked. One wall seemed to have a small hole the size of his head that was blocked off with a few boards nailed over it. It looked like a poor/homeless person’s house/shelter. They look to be pretty far back with technology. I bet they don’t even have cars!

“Is this place even safe?” Lyra looked back annoyed.

“Yeah I know it doesn’t look like much. I’m still fixing up the place. Just come on before anyone sees you,” Hector took a deep breath and just went along with it, although it was against his better judgement. He walked in quickly to prevent being seen. Once inside it actually looked relatively nice and cozy. The furniture was a little small for him, and the ceiling was almost touching his head. He was obviously too big for the household. He had to duck to get through the doorway.

“So, umm, nice place you got here. It looks rather nice, for a pony I mean. Not what I expected,” Lyra looked back with an almost charming smile, as if trying not to boast.

“Well I tried to at least make the inside look nice, and I’ll admit, I like to have nice furniture for my living status,” Hector chuckled at that, trying to contain his laughter. Lyra cocked her head to the side in confusion, having to tilt upward to look up at him. “What?”

“Nothing, it’s just that you didn’t say the sentence right. It’s suppose to be ‘my living situation’. It sounds more fluid and smoother,” Lyra rolled her eyes at him and softly glared at him.

“Well I tried, my special talent isn’t spelling,”

“Grammar actually,”

“You know what I mean!

“ It’s fine, don’t worry about trying to sound smart. Just be yourself,” The strange being in front of him sighed and nodded, relaxing herself. With a little blush forming, she smiled softly towards him.

“Well, I guess I can do that,” Lyra turned away and started walking over to her bedroom. “Just give me a second to get my important stuff out of here,” She didn’t wait for a reply, she just walked in and made sure she was out of sight, hiding behind the door frame. Once she knew she was safe, looking back to see if he was watching her, she looked back and brought her front hooves to her face and did her best to contain a girly squeal.

“Oh sweet Celestia! I can’t believe it! Here in my very house, I have my very own human, and he is living with me! Oh this is so much better than the time me and Bon Bon went to the Equestria Games in The Crystal Empire together! Oh if she could see me now!” Lyra whispered to herself in condensed excitement. She tried her hardest to keep her voice down, the last thing she would want to do is weird out her new favorite idol, he looked uncomfortable about this whole situation as is.

Lyra shook her head and walked around in the bedroom, collecting things that were her’s. She walked out of the room with an arm load of things, just things like her socks, a basket of mane products, and some papers. Hector looked at the things with an expression of concern.

“You don’t have to bring out so much stuff. I’m more than happy to sleep on the couch,” Lyra shook her head and smiled, putting the stuff down on a chair by the window.

“No, it’s fine. I doubt you could lay on her comfortably anyway. Don’t worry, alright?” She walked over and offered him a seat in the chair opposite side of the window, smiling. Hector shrugged his shoulders and sat down on the couch next to her. “You might be really confused about everything. I mean one day you were in your own world like any other ordinary day, then suddenly here you are, in a world of ponies,”

“Yeah, that sums it up quite a bit. I have no idea where I am or what the hell is going on here. Can you just start from the very beginning and treat me like I am a little kid?” Lyra opened her eyes at that request. She wore a face of confusion and slightly weirded out.

“You wanna to be treated like a baby goat?” Hector shook his head at that, startled.

“What? No. Just. . . . treat me like I know nothing then,”

“Oh, well ok. That I can do. Might want to try and get comfy, there’s lot’s to tell,”

“Well I got all the time in the world now,” Hector stated as he leaned into his seat, placing his heads firmly behind his head. “Just tell me everything,”

Celestia’s great sun slowly lowered past the horizon to the west, creating beautiful and elegant colors streaking all across the coming night sky gracefully. All this time as the day faded to introduce the night, Hector had been listening to Lyra Heart Strings tell him everything about the new world he had entered. The towns, the kingdom, the rulers, currency, pastimes, favorite hobbies, magic, races, economy, everything. Hector struggled to understand some parts such as magic, whether control, the Everfree Forest, and the past villains.

“So there is a god of. . . discord, who terrorized the world and created a world of suffering. . . is now friends with these. . . alicorns and is now a good guy? You just forgave him that quickly?” He asked in confusion and disbelief, scratching his head puzzled. Lyra laughed nervously at the question, realizing how silly that did sound.

“Yeah, he sometimes hangs out with the elements of harmony from time to time. Like this one time I saw Twilight and Princess Cadence hanging out with him while he was sick. They don’t do it very often and they seem to find him annoying, but they do seem like friends now. After Tirek, he stays around Twilight’s new tree house,” Hector rubbed his eyes.

“Geez, my head hurts. This is a lot to process,” Lyra smiled foolishly.

“Yeah, I bet it is a lot to take in. I mean some of this stuff still baffles me sometimes, and I live here,”

“Look, a lot of this stuff just goes against everything I believe and know. I mean in my world, the weather can’t be controlled,” Lyra jumped to that in excitement.

“You mean the weather changes all by itself?!”

“Yeah, we haven’t found a way to do that. We don’t have magic, we have science. We don’t have dragons, breezies, gryffins, or gods,”

“For real?! Like you all look the same?”

“I wouldn’t say that,” He looked up at her past his rubbing fingers. “We have blacks, whites, native americans, asians, hispanic, and more. We have races, but it’s mostly a color change, not a lot of physical difference,”

“Really? So you all can do the same thing?”

“Right! Like a black guy can run just as fast as a white guy. A hispanic can be just as smart as a native american. An asian can fight as well as a black guy, so on and so forth. it all really depends on how you live your life and how well you take care of yourself when you grow up,” Lyra’s eyes were wide open in excitement.

“Cool! You’re all equal then?”

“Not exactly,” Hector sighed and turned to look outside the window. He saw small groups of ponies walking around, trying to get back home for that night. “We have problems you don’t. We have racist people who think one group is better than the other, we have government corruption, crime everywhere you go, global problems like lack of food, water, kindness. My world has many problems,”

“Oh my, this sounds like a horrible place to live,” Lyra’s ears dropped down in sadness.

“Not at all. It’s what you make of it,” Hector turned to face her, slightly smiling. Lyra looked at him confused.

“What do you mean?” Hector closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, filling his lungs with the, still foreign, air and let it out softly and slowly.

“No matter what surrounds you, whether it be crime, hate, corruption, destruction, famine, you have a choice. You can either let it all consume you and turn you into exactly what you are surrounded in, or you can find your own happiness, your own joy. You can choose to find positivity or let yourself get pulled into the negativity,” Lyra stared blankly at him, baffled and stunned by his words.

“That is amazing. Like really beautifully spoken!” Hector laughed, waving his hand at her.

“Please, I read that straight from a book! I’m now Shake Spears or anything,” Lyra narrowed her eyes curious.

“Who is he?”

“He was an amazing story writer and theater script writer. He made amazing, breath taken plays that are still known to this day! I loved many plays of his, and enjoyed many quotes he had said,”

“Sounds like you really like him,” Lyra stated playfully. She smiled warmly towards him and leaned back in her seat, sitting just like him.

“Well. . . Yes I can say that. To be honest, I would have loved to meet him. Try to figure out how he could make such beautiful art with just words,” Lyra held her smile as he spoke. He realized he was standing up. Not sure when he did, but he did usually get excited when talking about topics such as this. He cleared his throat and sat back down, keeping his back straight. “Sorry, I got a little carried away,” She giggled at that.

“Not a problem. I sometimes get carried away when I talk about humans with my friends,” Hector’s eyes perked up at the word ‘human’.

“Wait, you know about humans?”

“Yeah, i’ve always had this feeling that humans exist, I just could never prove it,” She rolled her eyes annoyed. “My friend Bon Bon for example, always said ‘If humans exist, we would have known about it already’. Geez she knows how to take the fun out of it,”

“Do humans exist in this world?” Hector asked intently, leaning closer over to her.

“Well. . . no. Not in this world, except for you. You are the first human anyone has ever seen. Isn’t it cool? You are the very first human to appear here in Equestria!”

“I guess so, being apart of history, but it wouldn’t be worth much if I can’t get back home and tell about it,” Lyra’s smile faded at that, her ears deflating a bit.

“Yeah, I guess you’re right,” Hector shook his head, leaning back in the couch, sighing.

“Now I’m stuck here in this world with no way of getting in touch of the other side,” The unicorn sitting next to him frowned depressingly at him. It seemed that this was going to be harder than she thought. Suddenly, she saw a smile form across his flat mouth. “but at least I found someone who is willing to give me a hand and help me out,” He said optimistically, his eyes trailing over to her. She smiled back and gave him a hard nod.

“I promise to try and help you out in any way I can! I promise, as Celestia as my witness, I will get you settled her!”

“Not exactly what I want, but that helps out. Thanks, Lyra,” The pony in question smiled nervously at him, leaning over and placing a hoof on his leg. He looked down at it, noticing that her hoof was just barely bigger than the palm of his hand. hector placed his hand on her hoof, nodding at her. “It means a lot to me,”

Lyra took her hoof back, blushing and smiling in a silly manner. She felt her heart race a little bit from his touch. She was flooded with mixtures of amazement, bliss, excitement, and maybe even desire. She shook her head at that thought. Don’t you even think about it, Lyra! Behave!

“You ok? You look like it’s world war three in there,” Lyra focused back to Hector who was smiling at her confused.

“Oh, uhh, it’s nothing, really!” She smiled nervously once again, making him laugh a little. “What?”

“Sorry, it’s just that you look like the government is watching you and you are setting me up or something,”

“What?! No! I would never!” Hector waved his hand at her again.

“Relax, I’m messing with you. Just trying to lighten up the mood,” Lyra looked at him confused for a good minute but then a smile started to form, followed by some laughter.

“Oh, I get it. Do you humans joke around like that back in your world?”

“Yeah, Sort of. People have different styles and opinion in humor. Some like political humor and some like stupid humor. We all have different tastes,”

“Oh, I get it. So you guys aren’t much different from us then,”

“I don’t think so. We have some similarities but we are far from the same,”

They sat there in silence, not sure what to say next. Lyra looked at the window, trying to find something to talk about. I have been waiting for this exact moment all of my life, and now I am finally have a human right here, right now, sitting in front of me, and NOW I can’t think of anything?! Come on Lyra, think!

Lyra looked up at the sky to see the moon had rose into the sky and she felt a slight hunger ping in her stomach. An idea came up and she turned back to Hector, who was looking at the detail of the couch he sat on.

“Hey Hector! Want some dinner?” The curious human turned to her with a smile, rubbing his stomach.

“Sounds good to me. Oh god could I go for a burger!” Lyra thought about that and went over to her coin purse. She counted it carefully and smiled victoriously, her back to him. She turned to him with a big smile.

“You want burgers? I think I have enough for the local burger place near by,” Hector smiled a large smile, like he finally saw the light of hope for the first time in his life.

“Oh thank god you guys have burgers! Maybe this world isn’t so bad. Yeah could you get me a large, big king meal and a whopper, and a sprite to go with it!” Lyra tilted her head to him with a raised eyebrow and a strongly confused expression firmly place on her face.

“ I should have saw that one coming. No Burger King then?” She slowly shook her head.

“No, we don’t have a ‘Burger King’,” She suddenly started smiling. “Wait, are you telling me you have a king of burgers in your world?!” Hector signed again, shaking his head.

“No, it’s just the name of the fast food joint. Just get me two double cheeseburgers and two large fries, and what ever soda that you guys have here,”

“Soda?”

“Son of a bitch!” Hector faced palmed his head hard, making a loud slap. “Get me whatever they have for a drink. I don’t mind,” Lyra nodded her head slowly.

“Alright, ummm. Are you coming with me?” Hector shook his head, putting down his hand.

“No, I don’t want other horses seeing me just yet. Let’s just keep this our little secret, alright?” Lyra smiled and nodded at him.

“Good point. Alright, I’ll be back as soon as I can!”

“Thanks. Hurry up if you can. I’m so hungry, I could eat a horse,” Lyra looked at him in terror and shock, lifting her hoof up to her chest protectively.

“You eat horses where you come from!?”

“No I don’t eat- no!” He looked at her annoyed, leaning. “We don’t literally eat horses, it’s just an expression. A saying that we say to explain how hungry we are. We don’t eat horses, eww,” Lyra relaxed at that and sighed in relief.

“Og thank Celestia. For a second I thought I was in danger or something,”

“Naw, I’m a peaceful kind of guy. I couldn’t hurt a fly,”

“Good to hear. I’ll be back shortly, alright?” Lyra stated, grabbing her coin purse and slinging it to her side and putting on a bag at her hips. Hector smiled shortly and waved.

“Alright. I’ll be here waiting,”

“It won’t be long. See ya!” She waved good bye and went out the door, leaving Hector on the couch. He exhaled outward, trying to relax a little. He glanced around the room again, trying to study and examine everything. He slowly got up and looked around at the picture frames. He saw pictures of Lyra with a pony with dark blue and purple hair and a yellowish body, but she didn’t have a horn.

“Ok, so that must be an earth pony because that one doesn’t have a horn or a wing,” He looked over to a different dresser in her room that showed Lyra and a male looking winged horse holding her. He had silver hair and a greyish body. On the bottom of the photo said. “With love, Thunderlane”.

“That must be a pegasus because he has wings. Looks like a boy friend, or maybe an ex that she hasn’t moved on from. Hard to tell at this point,” He looked around the bedroom and stared carefully at the bed. He slowly laid in it, giving it a test. Once he got comfortable, he noted that his ankles dangled at the bottom.

“Horses here are short, duly noted. I’m gonna have to find a way to make that work,” He got up and opened up the closet. There he found a few sets of clothes, mostly dresses, and only a handful. “Ponies don’t wear clothes very often, but that I kinda already knew,” He was about to close it when he saw a little red and green box at the bottom of the little space about the size of a shoe box. It had some neat handwriting saying “Private photos, do not open” and was wrapped loosely with a green string.

“Well how am I supposed to ignore it now? Damn, I hate my curiosity. You just had to be a natural scientist, huh dad?” He sighed in defeat and slowly picked up the box, taking it out of the closet. He went over and sat on the bed, the little box sat flatly on his lap. “I wonder what could be in here?” He looked around as if Lyra might be standing next to him and then looked down at the box. He unwrapped the string carefully and slowly lifted the lid seeing a bunch of photos in a messy pile. He put the lid down next to him and took the first phot he saw and brought it too his face.

“Hey It’s Lyra, and she is laying with- what the?” He took a closer look at the photo and his eyes shot open in horror and surprise. “Oh my god, no no no!”

In the photo Lyra laid on her back with the pegasus ‘Thunderlane’ on top of her. Her legs spread apart wide with him laying between them. His front hooves planted firmly right above her head and he was grinding his teeth and his wings shot straight out behind him. Beads of sweat could be seen on his forehead. Lyra had a face of ecstasy with her mouth wide open and a bit of drowl coming out the side of her face. She had sweat all over her body and her hair was a mess. If he looked carefully he could see the males pe-.

“Oh god, that’s it! I’m done! I’m so done!!” He quickly put the photo back in the box and slammed the lid back on it. His hands shook slightly and his eyes quivered in fear and shock. “What has been seen can not be unseen! Why. . . why. . . . WHY?!?! *He shook his head violently and shot up from the bed. He grabbed the box and ran over to the closet. Hector dropped the box back in it’s place and shot the closet door closed.

“I wish I could scrub my eyes out, or maybe my brain! Oh my god, that was. . . . Just. . . just horrible!” She shook his head again as if to shake the mental image seared into his brain, but to no avail. He slowly walked over to the chair that Lyra sat on and stared out that window. His body twitched every now and then when the image resurfaced during his attempt of forgetting.

What felt like hours of waiting later. He heard the door twist open and he turned his head to face it. Once the door opened, he say Lyra walking in with two bags floating around her with some sort of yellow aura holding them up.

“Hey Hector, I got back from-”

“Holy shit those bags are floating!!!” Hector shouted out, pointing at the bags behind her. She raised an eyebrow confused and looked back to see the bags. She laughed and turned back around.

“Oh, that? Yeah, basic magic. Learn it in magic 101. This is nothing, really,” Hector stood up from the couch and came over to look at the bags.

“That is so cool!!! Wow, just look at them! Floating like that without you touching them,” He swiped his hand above and below the bags, getting more and more excited and impressed. “No strings, now secret glass levers, nothing! There is nothing above or below them. Nothing around them either. It’s just like magic!” Lyra blushed bashfully and smiled to herself.

“That’s because it is magic, silly. Now come on, your food is getting cold,” Lyra walked into her place, putting the bags down on the table, letting go of her grip around them. Hector was still astonished at the scene, his mouth partially open in amazement. He sat down at the table, the chair a bit too small for him but he managed. His eyes never left the bags.

“That is so cool! Real live magic! This is incredible! I’ve never seen anything like it!” Lyra rolled her eyes with a playful smile.

“Oh come on. It was nothing! Every unicorn can do that. You should see Twilight Sparkle if you like magic so much. She has mastered so much magic and can do so many cool things. She defends this town with that magic. If you want I can try to get her to come here and see you,”

“Yeah, Twilight Sparkle. I think she was one of those horses that had the wings and horn who were around when I woke up. Maybe that is a good idea. She is a princess after all. She should be able to help”

“Exactly, she is a- wait. How did you know?” Hector shrugged his shoulders as he pulled out his food, laying it in front of him and started opening his burger.

“I figured out that those with both the horn and the wings are alicorns, and alicorns seems to be a symbol of royalty of some sort. Am I wrong?” Lyra shook her head, getting her food with her magic.

“You’re pretty much dead on. All alicorns are princesses,”

“I thought so. Well, thank you for the food, means a lot to me!” He finished opening his burger and licked his lips in excitement and hunger. “Oh I am so hungry!” He held the big burger with both hands firmly wrapped around it. He took a big bite out of the burger and chewed happily. He stopped after a bit and gave a good taste of the food. “It tastes. . . odd,”

“What do you mean?” Lyra asked as she took a bite out of her own food. Hector coughed for a second and swallowed, gagging.

“Oh god, these are veggie burgers! Disgusting!”

“What are those?” Hector glared over at her and then back to his burger.

“It is disappointment with in every bite. It looks like the real thing, but it taste nothing like it. Then again, I should have seen it coming. Last I knew horses don’t eat meat, so of course I shouldn’t be able to find any meat to eat. Just forget about it. It’s doesn’t matter, thank you again for spending money on me,” He forced a smile on his face as he took another bite. He chewed as quickly as he could so that he could be done with it.

“So humans eat meat?”

“Not all of us. We have a good portion that don’t eat meat, and then another group that refuse to eat anything that came from an animal. We have a large variety of people back in my world,” Lyra smiled gently, taking another bite from her burger.

“It looks like it. Wow, I wish I could see it all! You are so lucky to have hands like that,”

“Are you kidding me? I would cut my own hands off if it means I get to use magic!” Hector exclaimed with excitement. “I would have fun with that all day,”

“Well I guess we have different opinions then, huh?”

“As to be expected,” They both looked at each other and they both laughed at the same time. Hector laughed simply because he thought he would be alone in this strange, new world, and he was lucky enough to just be able to find someone who is kind and generous enough to take him in and even feed him. Lyra laughed because she had been alone for a few months in her house, but now had someone to live with her and keep her company, and he was a human to make it better. It’s like finding your favorite idol homeless in the streets and you take them in and help them get back on their hooves, or feet in this case.

“Thank you,” Lyra said suddenly. Hector slowed his laughing and looked up to her smiling.

“Why are you thanking me? I didn’t do anything,”

“No. . . not directly, but I am still glad that you decided to live with me. . . for now I mean. It means a lot to me,” She explained, smiling nervously and bashfully. Hector shook his head and waved her away.

“You don’t need to thank me. I’m crashing here on you so suddenly,” Lyra giggled to herself. Hector chuckled a bit with her.

The rest of the night went well. They finished eating, talked about things in their worlds and touched up on their personal lives. Hector was uncomfortable about it but he answered her questions the best he could. She, on the other hand, was more like an open book. She told him about stuff he didn’t even ask. Talking a mile a minute at some points. He didn’t mind it though. It was kind of pleasant to him.

Hector laid in Lyra’s bed wide awake. He felt the desire to sleep, but just could not tread there. His mind was still trying to realize that this was happening. His old world was lost to him, maybe forever. If he was going to survive this new world, he would have to learn how to blend in and how to fit in. So many things to learn, so many things to research and study. He needed to live here until he can find a way to escape.

“How long will I be here? Will she remember me? Will she even forgive me?” Hector asked to know one, only to himself. He shifted to a more comfortable position under the covers which did a very poor job at doing. Maybe you don’t have to leave.

“What the? That wasn’t my thought!” Hector whispered to himself.

You have so much potential here. You could start all over. A fresh, clean slate.

“Ok, now this is freaky,”

Just think about it. Who knows, maybe you will like this world more.

“Ok, I don’t know what’s going on, but there is no way this place is better,”

That’s because you are not giving it a chance. You’re smart, analyze everything around you, and keep an open mind about your surroundings.

“Who are you?”

The one who brought you here.

“What? What do you mean by that?!” Hector waited for a minute but only heard the sound of his rapidly beating heart and his short, shallow breaths. “Answer me! Who are you?!” Still there was no answer. He grew more angry at that but gave up. He squeezed his eyes shot and tried to finally get some rest.

After an hour or so later he finally managed to do just that, but his sleep was not at all rest full. For during his sleep. . . he remembered his home.

The Search for The Lost Human

Hector slept soundly in the bed that was loaned to him. The sun washed over him in light but he refused to get out of bed. He was exhausted and got little sleep that night and wanted to make up for it. Out of the corner of his mind, he could feel a pair of eyes staring him down, as if he was in a lab. He gulped down and slowly opened one eye, seeing a light green unicorn staring down at him with a wide smile.

Both of Hector’s eyes shot open and launched himself in the other direction of the creepy pony, falling off of the bed on the other side with a loud thud. Lyra flinched away at the sound of his fall, and closed an eye. She leaned over the bed to try to see if he was ok.

“Ummm. . . . good morning?” Hector groaned and moaned as he slowly got up off the floor and raised himself so that he could glare over at her, pillows under his eyes.

“Yes, I have noticed it was morning, but where exactly is this 'good' you speak of?” Lyra smiled innocently embarrassed at him.

“Sorry, I was just excited that you were here, so I came over to wake you up, and. . . well I kinda. . . got distracted,”

“Distracted?!” Hector cried out, raising himself off the floor and back on his two feet. “Distracted? You were looking at me like a fan girl stares at her idol, or a scientist looks at an alien creature!” He leaned backwards, pressing his hands on his lower back, and popped and cracked his back all over. Lyra flinched again from the sounds from his back.

“Is that normal?” Hector looked over annoyed.

“No, it is not. Your bed is rough as hell on me. I hurt all over,” Lyra backed away, looking down at the ground with a depressed expression, her ears dropping down.

“Oh. . I’m sorry. I guess it wasn’t the best idea. I mean it’s comfy for me,” Hector go to his feet and gave his back one last bend, cracking it even further. Now that he was standing, Lyra saw his chest now. He didn’t wear his shirt like he did last night, he must have taken it off before he went to bed. Hector caught her staring at the muscles on his chest and stomach and he raised an eyebrow. He wasn't exactly buffed, but he always made sure to keep some muscle. He liked to stay toned, trying to stay fit.

“Take a picture, it will last longer,” Lyra snapped out of it and turned away.

“I’m sorry, it’s just all new to me. I’ve never seen a human before, and you don’t have a lot of hair on your chest, so I just found it kind of. . . odd,”

“Yeah, I also find talking horses who can fly and do magic kind of odd, but hey, I’m learning to adapt,” Lyra giggled at that, turning her head over. Hector was now looking for his shirt in the room, still half awake. She grabbed the shirt which was on the dresser and levitated it over to him. He saw his shirt floating in front of his face and grabbed it, the yellow aura disappearing.

“Thanks, that magic comes in handy,” Hector made his way out of the room, putting on his shirt. “Sleeping here sucks, food sucks, but if I were to put a bright side in all of this, at least-” He hit his head on the top of the door from while his shirt covered his face. He hit it with a loud THUD and fell backwards onto the floor, hitting the back of his head with another thud. Lyra rushed over to him and tried to help him up.

“Oh sweet Celestia, are you ok?!” Hector struggled to get his shirt off and with his angered attempt he ripped it. His face turned red with rage and he gritted his teeth, trying not to scream at the top of his lungs.

“Scratch that. . . there is no bright side!”

“Well at least you have me, right?” Lyra added in with a small smile, bringing him back on his feet. Hector sighed annoyed but he looked down at her with a smile.

“I suppose that is right. I’m not trying to do all of this all by myself. I at least have someone who is nice enough to try to help me in my time of need,” Lyra blushed humbly and smiled like a little school girl.

“Oh. . . it’s nothing. I would do this for anypony. It’s no trouble at all”

“Well then you are a very kind and- hey wait a second, what did you say?” Lyra looked up at him innocently confused.

“Say what?”

“What you said after I said I have someone to help me in my time of need?”

“Oh. . . it’s nothing?”

“No no no, after that,”

“It’s no trouble at all?”

“No no! Before that but after it’s nothing,” Lyra tilted her head for a second until she figured it out.

“Oh! I would do this for any pony!” Hector raised an eyebrow weirded out and puzzled.

“Say that again?”

“I would do this for anypony?”

“And one more time?” Lyra narrowed her eyebrows at him confused and puzzled at what he was doing, but played along anyway.

“Uhhhh. . . . ooooookaaayyyy. . . . I would do this for anypony?”

“There! Right there!” Hector shouted, startling Lyra in the process. “You just said anypony. . . don’t you mean anyBODY?” Lyra tilted her head at him with a bewildered and puzzled expression.

“Is that how you guys talk in your world?” Lyra asked with interest. Hector sighed in defeat, knowing he wouldn’t be able to get her to understand the error of her speech. He walked over to the kitchen and opened the fridge inside, wincing at the sight of it. “Geez, no bacon in the morning? Not the best way to start the day, but at least there is orange juice,” He turned back to look over to Lyra. “Mind if I pour myself a glass?”

“Sure, I just bought some more today. Would you like me to make you some breakfast?” The young man couldn’t help but smile at that. “Ahh, the taste of a woman’s cooking. Sounds pretty good to me,” He turned back and raised an eyebrow out her. “Well. . . . sort of,” Lyra cocked her head to the side confused.

“What do you mean by that?” Hector suddenly felt his cheeks go red for just a moment. The look of her head tilted just slightly to the left, the way her face showed the innocent confusion. Hector shook his head and looked away, looking in the cupboards for a cup.

“It-it’s nothing, just forget about it,” Suddenly a yellow aura engulfed the handle of one cupboard all the way to the right and it opened. From inside he saw a glass cup levitate over towards him with a yellow glow. It stopped right in front of him and he couldn’t help but smile at the cup and then smiled over at the owner of the sunlight like shine. Lyra stood there smiling cutely at him.

“Don’t worry about it, just have a seat, I’ll take good care of you,” Suddenly a voice echoed in his mind. It spoke to him as if speaking at the very end of a long, dark tunnel.

Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you,” Hector’s eyes opened up in surprise by the unknown voice. He was startled and confused by it, it hit him so strongly, but he couldn't figure out how or why. A tear leaked down from his right eye and it startled him as it trailed down his cheek. Lyra was walking past him and didn’t seem to notice as she pulled out a couple of pans and started grabbing ingredients from the fridge.

“Are you gonna stand there all day, or are you gonna sit down and relax?” Hector snapped back into the moment and he quickly whipped the tear away from his cheek.

“Yeah, sorry, I guess I'm still tired. I wish I had some coffee,” Lyra smiled to herself and turned towards the counter.

“One cup of coffee coming right up!” He turned just in time to see her levitate a bag of grounded coffee and a coffee pot to her side. He shook his head and turned back around. He walked through the opening of the open kitchen and sat down on the couch in the living room. If he looked over to her he could see her turning on the stove, cutting up some peppers and onions, and preparing his coffee all at the same time.

Hector looked away from the busy unicorn and took a peek out of the window. He could see small groups of ponies walking around, getting ready for the day. Some were wiping down counters of their small stalls, trying to get ready for business. Others were walking small groups of fillies and colts down the road. From the looks of it, it almost looked like they were trying to get to school, considering the time of day.

Hector leaned back in the couch and sighed, trying to imagine the voice that spoke in his head not a moment ago. “I feel like I know the voice, but it sounds too. . . . too. . . . too what?” The troubled man whispered to himself in distress. “What exactly am I forgetting? How did I get here? I remember coming home from. . . . from. . . from where? Where did the path start? Work, right?” Hector grunted quietly with frustration and scratched his scalp roughly.

“I swear I’m missing details here. I was driving on the road. . . Snow, there was snow on the ground. . . it. . . it was snowing. Why did I crash? That doesn’t sound like me,” There was an aroma in the air that distracted Hector from his thoughts. He sniffed the air a bit and turned towards the kitchen. Lyra was making some pancakes and what looked to be an omelet. He forgot about what he was thinking and focused on the food being prepared for him by Lyra.

The sea green unicorn flipped the flapjacks into the air with the frying pan and caught them almost perfectly back into the pan. Hector watched for a moment, staring at her with amazement. Lyra caught a glance at him staring at her and she blushed and returned her focus back onto the food she was preparing.

“Oh sweet Celestia! He is watching me! Alright, Lyra, let’s do this,” Lyra whispered quickly and quietly to herself in girlish squeals. With a confident smile she flipped a pancake into the air, and the omelet at the same time, spun around, grabbed three different, small containers that looked to be seasonings, and spun back around and caught the food at the exact same time, and the put a light coating of seasonings onto the omelet before repeating the process.

“Wow, the horse sure knows how to cook, alright. Her and my mother would get along famously,” Lyra heard this and her thoughts ran wild instantly. She imagined Hector guiding Lyra towards a large house with a hand placed gently onto her shoulder. He knocked onto the door and a woman opened the door that looked much like Hector. She smiled at their presence.

Oh my dear son, so good to see you, who is this lovely mare?” Hector smiled and looked down at Lyra with strong, loving eyes.

Mother, this is my girlfriend, Lyra Heartstrings,” Lyra squealed at the thought and flipped the pancake into the air in a fit of excitement, forgetting that the pancake was in the frying pan.

“Oh I just can’t wait to meet her!!!” She accidentally shouted out. Hector raised an eyebrow strangely towards her. Lyra realized that she just shouted that out and her face turned beat red. Hector couldn’t help but chuckle a little at her embarrassment.

“Well, looks like you are excited to meet someone. Mind if I ask who?” Before Lyra could try to think of something to cover her sudden outburst, the pancake returned and landed on her head. Her horn poked right through the middle of it and the pancake covered her face completely. Hector tried to hide his laughter but failed rather quickly as he leaned back and started laughing loudly.

Lyra slowly pushed the pancake off of the front of her head just enough to catch a glance at him. She expected to be overwhelmed with embarrassment but she was quickly fooled. Seeing Hector laughing so care free and so happily for the first time since she has seen him. His laugh was very masculine and made her heart flutter a little knowing that she made him laugh. She couldn’t help but to smile herself. She closed her golden eyes and even started to laugh a little with him.

“Oh, oh I am. . . I’m sorry, that’s rude of me. Here, let me help. . . ya there,” Hector slowly got up from the couch and walked over to the giggling unicorn. As she finally opened her eyes, Hector was standing in front of her. He leaned down a bit and pulled off the pancake for her. “Looks like I might have to help you with the chores after all,”

“Come on, girls! He’s got to be around here somewhere!” Twilight called over. Her friends were right on her tail as they walked through town, looking for the mysteries creature that they lost sight of yesterday.

“Where in good heavens could he possibly be?!” Rarity questioned with slight annoyance trailing right behind her words. Applejack kept her eyes in the dark alleyways as if she would see a shadow pop out of no where.

“Well ah’ll be the first to say it, letting him run along by his lonesome might've been a bad idea,” Rainbow Dash landed right next to her with an annoyed look on her face.

“Well geez, what was your first clue?” Applejack rolled her eyes and ignored her. Twilight turned towards her with a look of concern.

“Any luck?” She asked with a bit of hope in her voice. Rainbow Dash turned to her now, her expression relaxing a bit to match her friend’s concerned look.

“Nothing, I can’t find him anywhere! I mean, he is by himself. How in the world is he THIS hard to find?! I’ve been asking the other pegasi and they haven’t seen him either,” Rainbow Dash looked away a bit weirded out. “And some of them thought I was going crazy,” Fluttershy walked up beside them with a look of fear mixed in with concern.

“Oh dear, I really do hope he is ok. Oh the poor, he’s in a world he doesn’t understand or know, all alone. He’s got no home, no food-” Her expression turned into dread and she turned to Twilight with almost pleading eyes. “What if his injuries were more severe than it looked and right now he is stuck somewhere, or worse? What if he is trapped somewhere, or what if he is shivering in the cold, having to sleep under a tree last night. All alone, the poor thing must be starving!” Twilight placed a pair of hooves on the fearful yellow pegasus to try to hold her steady and calm her down.

“Fluttershy, don’t worry, we’ll find him. He can’t be too far. He has to be somewhere in Ponyville,” Fluttershy took a few deep breaths and relaxed a little. Twilight slowly removed her hooves from her dear friend’s shoulders and placed them gently back onto the ground. Pinkie Pie hopped over from around the corner, smiling brightly as always with some blue frosting around her mouth.

“Hey girls! Any luck?”Applejack and Rarity shook their head. Twilight turned to Pinkie Pie with a more confident expression.

“Pinkie Pie, did you see anything?”

“Oh lot’s of things!! I saw Big Mac and Cheerilee talking at the market square. Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, and Applebloom were heading off to school, oh! I also saw Daisy and Octavia talking about how cute-” Twilight waved a hoof in front of the hyperactive pony’s face to get her attention.

“Pinkie! Focus! We are looking for that human that we met yesterday. Did you find him or any clues?” Pinkie Pie collect her thoughts and shook her head.

“Nope, nothing. I mean I did run into Lyra earlier. She had such a big smile on her face, and it made me smile even bigger! It was like-” Twilight cut her off right there.

“Not important right now, Pinkie. Alright girls, obviously we need to spread out and search the whole town. I didn’t think finding him would be so difficult. Aj, I need you to search Sweet Apple Acres. There is a good chance that he hasn’t eaten anything, so he may try to eat some of those apples,” The tan, cowgirl reared up with a determined smile.

"Ah’ll get right on it, sugar cube!” And with that she ran off towards her ranch.

“Rainbow Dash, you fly around and scan around the town. In case he isn’t in town, he couldn’t have made it far in his condition,” Rainbow Dash saluted to her, getting back up into the air.

“I’m on it, boss!” And with that, she zoomed towards the sky.

“Rarity, check the marketplace and the school area. He might think to try to learn about us from the shadows,” Rarity narrowed her eyes at her and nodded.

“You can count on me!” With one last quick glance at her friends, she ran down the road, further into town.

“And Fluttershy, check the borders of the Everfree forest. He may try to get away from all of the ponies. He might fear them, and you are our best chance to calm him down if that is the case. He might be really scared with his life changing so suddenly. I’m gonna check the library and write a letter to Princess Celestia to see if she can shed any light on this situation. She needs to know what is going on,”

“You can count on me, Twilight!” Fluttershy said sternly with a nod, putting on a determined look on her face right before she took off towards her cottage. Twilight turned to the final pony who was standing by her.

“And Pinkie Pie, I need you to ask around town to see if anyone has seen him. I doubt he would be walking around town but just in case, some pony must have seen something,”

“Okie dokie lokie! She said with a big, cheerful smile and she hopped back into town while Twilight ran for her tree house.

From ontop of a rooftop, right above the main six's meet up spot, a certain spirit of chaos watched from a big, comfy, red chair, a large bag of popcorn, and a pair of 3D glasses on his head, snickering.

"Oh how this is getting interesting! I never thought such a interesting day could ever occur! Too bad I missed the beginning credits. Oh I just can't wait! I'll give it. . . . hmmmmmm. . . . . three chapters before they find him, four before they realize that Lyra has been smuggling him this whole time," Discord looked over to the viewers and winked. "Shhhhh, it'll be our little secret, but I plan to have some serious fun with this!"

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Hector glanced around the corner like a spy, just barely showing enough of his face to peek around. He wore a devious smirk on his face as he watched the corner. “Alright, I don’t see anybody there,” He turned back towards the alleyway he came from, feeling good to see it empty. “And no one behind me. Coast is clear!”

Hector spun around the corner and ran. He got to the end of that alleyway and looked around to make sure he was still in the all clear. To his right he could see a white unicorn with well groomed hair sprinting away from him. To his right he could see the pink pony talking to some other ponies, what the topic was he did not know nor did he care.

Hector dashed across the road as fast as he could, but after the second step he felt pain shoot up his legs and across his back. “Ow! Still sore, I gotta suck it up though!” He continued to run till he was behind the stalls, turned left and kept running. After a few minutes he could see some trees in the distance once he left the town area. “Alright, maybe now I can go somewhere to relax and catching my bearings. I’ve always enjoyed a good walk through the woods,” He looked up just in time to see a light blue blur zip right over him and continued going towards town.

“Not sure what that was, but I don’t plan to stick around to find out! I’ll make a beeline straight for those woods!” Hector said to himself with determination in his voice. He ignored the pain, fearing to be caught if he were to slow down long enough. After a short while later, he started to slow his pace as the town had disappeared from sight with the twists, turns, and hills he had passed to get there. He stopped to catch his breath, turning back behind him to make sure he wasn’t being followed.

“Good, I should be good now. No sign of civilization anymore,” Hector smiled to himself as he hunched over to gather air into his lungs, sweat running down his face in small droplets. He stood back up straight, cracking his back in the process. “Well, now I can relax a bit,” He turned around just in time to see a yellow pegasus with light pink hair, hovering a few feet from the ground, looking over towards the forest, scanning the land. “Oh crap!” He said a little too loudly. The flying pony’s ears perked up as he said that and turned to him, their eyes locked on. A smile spread across her face.

“There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!” Hector panicked and gathered his remaining strength to run as fast as he could towards the forest. The pegasus saw where he was darting for and her smile disappeared instantly and fear took it’s place. “No! Don’t run in there!” Hector ignored her as he ran into the woods, pushing aside bushes and low hanging branches. He could hear the ponies cries but he could no longer understand them. She said something about something being free, or something along those lines, but he didn’t pay attention to it.

Hector continued to run through the woods until he couldn’t hear her voice anymore. He slowed down to a quick walk and then finally stopped. He grunted in pain as it felt like his legs were about to burst open, and his head started hurting really bad. “Damn it! Ahhh, this hurts a lot. I wonder how far I made it in here,” He looked up and he could just barely see the sunlight peeking through the top of the trees. “Well I’ll hide out in here for a bit. I should be safe until then,” He sighed and he leaned himself against a tree as he allowed his muscles to relax.

“Maybe I should have listened to Lyra before she left. Now this doesn’t seem like such a good idea, even though it was a bit fun in the beginning,”

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

“Alright, now I have somethings to do today, and I was planning on meeting up with Bon Bon to help her out with her shopping,” Lyra said as she was packing a saddle and levitating it to her side. Hector sighed and looked out at the window.

“Is that who you just can’t wait to meet? Is she your girlfriend or something?” Lyra sighed in agitation and glared over towards him.

“I don’t know why everypony thinks we are a couple! We are just good friends! We have been friends for years. I consider her a sister to me,” Hector chuckled a bit and glanced over to her without turning his head.

“I’m guessing you get that alot then?” Lyra rolled her eyes annoyed.

“More than you could ever know,”

“Well, have fun then,” Lyra nodded and started walking out of the door but stopped right in front of it and turned to him.

“Oh, and Hector, please stay here. Judging from the way you keep looking out of the window, you want to go out, but it’s just not the right time, alright? I’ll be back before dinner. There is some apples in the fridge if you get hungry,” Hector smirked and looked away from her.

“Yes, MOM!” He said sarcastically back at her, putting a hand under his chin to lean on, hiding a grin on his face. Lyra giggled at that and opened the door and closed it behind her as she walked out. As soon as the door was closed he turned towards the door, and then looked out of the window. He watched her walk down the road, smiling to herself with a big smile.

“She is a strange one. Well, if she thinks that I am gonna stay cooped up in here, then she has another thing coming!” He got up quickly and walked over to the bedroom to fetch his shoes. “The best way to relieve soreness is by walking it out and working the soreness out,” He didn't think much about it as he left the room, but as he did, he hit his head on the door frame again. "God damn these talking horses and thier low door frames!!"

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Hector chuckled as he thought back to it, shaking his head. “Well it looks like I’m not getting exactly what I wanted out of this. Well crap,” He heard some twigs snap behind him and he spun around the tree to take a look. He scanned the brush line but couldn’t see anything or hear anything else. “It’s nothing. Geez Hector, you’re scaring yourself,” He turned back around and sighed. “This town is gonna drive me crazy!” He shouted to himself.

Hector heard another sound of twigs snapping, followed shortly by the sound of the brush moving. The sound didn’t come from behind him, it came from in front of him. Hector scanned the bushes carefully, this time slowing his breath to hear better, but he couldn’t hear anything. “Yup, it’s official, I’m crazy now,” He turned to his right and he got full sight of the yellow pegasus from before, just a foot away from his face.

“I found you!!” Hector jumped back in alarm and slammed his back into another tree, earning him a short cry of pain. The levitating pony gasped and brought her front hooves to cover her mouth. “oh no, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you,” Hector gasped for air, filling his lungs with the now precious resource.

“Oh my god! It’s just you! You scared the living daylights out of me!” The pegasus softly landed onto the forest floor and took a few careful steps towards him.

“Oh, you poor thing! I didn’t mean to scare you. I was just so excited to finally find you! I’ve been so worried about you!” Hector sighed in annoyance as he slowly lifted himself off from the tree.

“I’m fine! I told you crazy horses that I can take care of- AGHH!” He fell down onto his knees, his face scrunching up with agony. He looked at his knee and could see blood running down from them. It looked like there was stitches in his legs and they came apart, opening a long cut on each of his legs. “When did I-”

Fluttershy rushed over to him and held onto his side. “Oh my! You’re hurt. Come on, let me bring you back to my cottage and I can help you,” Hector narrowed his eyes at her, but it did not phase her. She reached out to help him up but he pushed her hoof aside.

“I got it! I did this to myself, I can fix myself up! I guess I’ve already did it before,” He inhaled deeply through his nose and immediately covered it with his hand. “Oh my god! What on earth is that stench?!” Fluttershy sniffed the air and dreadful fear washed over her. She grabbed onto his arm and started pulling him.

“We need to get out of here, now! The Everfree Forest is a very dangerous place! We have to get out of here before they get here,” Hector pulled his arm free from her grasp roughly.

“Whoa whoa whoa, what are you talking about? Who is they?” Hector heard the brushes moving right behind him. He slowly turned to see a pair of light green eyes glowing back at him. “Oh. . . that?” Slowly more eyes started appearing from the darkness of the brush. Fluttershy grabbed a hold of his arm once more and started flying as fast as she could, practically dragging him along. Hector kept his eyes back as they ran to see a pack of wolves charging out to them. The strange thing, though, was it looked as if they were made completely out of wood.

“What the hell?!” Hector shouted loudly in panic. He tore his eyes away from them and kept his eyes up front. “What the freaking hell are those things?! Why does nothing make sense in this world?!?!” Fluttershy glanced over for just a moment and her eyes opened wide in shock and started flying faster.

“Just run!!” She yelled surprisingly loud. Hector actually closed his mouth and listened. He made it a little farther before the pain in his legs overcame the fear he was just introduced to. He shouted out in pain and toppled over, rolling on the ground till he came to a sudden halt.

The yellow pegasus slowed herself to a stop and turned back for him but the wolves were already at him, snarling and growling at him. Hector slowly got back up, huffing and panting. He leaned up against a tree to try to ease the pain his legs were shooting up, staring straight at the six wooden wolfs that came to a halt before him.

“I can’t run anymore, and if I can’t run, I fight!” The scared pony shook her head at that quickly.

“No! Those are timber wolves! You can’t fight them, especially in your condition!” Hector couldn’t help but to chuckle at that.

“He he he he, timber wolves, that’s cute. The other word for timber is wood, and they are made out of wood, and they are shaped as wolves. That’s just cute,” The pegasus did not find it as humorous as he did and glared at him.

“That is not funny! They are very very dangerous animals!” Hector turned towards her with a half smile.

“That’s what your friends said about me, but do you know what the difference is between you and your friends?” Before she could say anything, the first timber wolf lunged for him. The flying yellow pony’s jaw dropped in horror and she started reaching out for him. Hector’s smirk never left his face as he spun on his foot and lunged a fist towards it. His fist connected with the timber wolve’s jaw and it shattered to pieces. “You’re friends were right!”

The timber wolf was launched towards the direction of the punch and in mid air, fell apart. Hector winced from the pain of using his leg like that, but still held his crooked smile at the sight of his opponent crumbling away to pieces. “Geez these things are easy. I’ll clean this mess up real quick!”

“No! Don’t do it! It’s not that easy!” Hector gave a small roar as another timber wolf dashed for him. He took two steps towards it and slammed an elbow down onto it’s head, and the monster crumbled away just like the other.

“You’re right, it’s even easier than that!” He took a stance of a martial art pose and held one fist up to his chest and the other lower towards his stomach. “It’s nothing fancy, I made it to my purple belt in Kempo Karate. A man has to learn how to defend himself,” The remaining four timber wolves snarled and growled at him as they all lunged at him at the same time. “Oh this is gonna hurt!”

Hector pivoted his right foot and landed an elbow against the cheek of the first one, with a half moon sweep he landed a knife ridge hand into the chest of the next. One was a mere inch away from tackling him and he ducked just in time to watch it soar over him and he stood straight up and uppercutted it right in it’s stomach and he spun around and roundhouse kicked the last. All of them fell onto the forest floor in pieces. Hector smiled victoriously as he shook his right hand, a small amount of blood forming at the knuckles. Discord watched from the top of the trees, almost shoveling popcorn into his mouth in excitement, partially hidden within the branches.

"Oh he does know how to put on a good show! I wonder how he will react when they put themselves back together!"

“Well now that was fun! Why are you so scared of those weaklings? Even YOU could have probably taken them!” The Pegasus backed away in fear, staring behind him.

“I was trying to tell you that you can’t beat them! You can’t just fight them off like-” Hector waved a hand at her.

“Yeah yeah, ohhh so scary. They scary wittle timber wolves might give us splinters,”

“No! If you knock them down, they come right back up!”

“As if! Come on now, you just watched me one hit every single one of those-” He heard a growl behind him that made him stop in mid sentence. He slowly turned around to look back to see one of them standing up without a scratch on it. The others he had just defeated were starting to come back up. Hector witnessed in horror as all of the pieces of wood and twigs started reforming back into their original selves again. Right before his eyes stood the timber wolves he had just knocked to pieces, now all snarling and growling at him.

“Get out of here! I’ll hold them off!” The pegasus landed onto the ground and did not move.

“I can’t just leave you here, I came in here to get you out, and that is exactly what I plan to do! We are leaving-” Hector glared cruelly back at her.

“I said get the freaking hell out of here!!!” He yelled loudly, his voice echoing through the woods. His supposed rescuer was taken back at his outburst. She spun around and ran, crying.

"Oh, I did not see that coming! He is quite brave. . . . or really stupid. Either way, I can tell that I am gonna be needing more popcorn! This one is quite the star!" Discord snickered from his hiding spot, his eyes never leaving the injured man.

Hector sighed and returned his focus towards the timber wolves. He watched as more light green eyes started forming within the bushes behind the monstrous pack. “I think I should have enough adrenaline pumping through me to hold them off for a while. Well, here goes everything!!” With a loud war cry, he ignored the pain the best he could as he charged head first towards the seemingly endless horde of immortal wolves, raising his fist up to make the first strike.

A Broken Bone Sent From a Broken Promise

Fluttershy zipped through the Everfree Forest as if her life depended on it. Tears rolled down her eyes as she dodged every tree she could, occasionally getting wiped by a small branch every so often. She dared not look back, she dared not speak, she dared not slow down. She burst through the tree line like a comet and shot up towards the skies.

“RAINBOW DAAAAAAAASH!!!!!!!” She screamed with the very last bit of breath left in her lungs. She inhaled deeply and slowed down her breathing and raised her hooves up to her mouth. “GIIIIIIIIIIRLS!!!!! HEEEEEEELLLLLPPP!!!!”

Rainbow Dash skidded to a halt in mid air and shot back. She saw Fluttershy in a panic and darted at her quickly. She stopped in front of her distressed friend with concern.

“Fluttershy, what’s wrong? You look like you just out-” Fluttershy gripped onto Rainbow Dash and shook her with freight, tears rolling down her face as she started to bawl.

“He’s in there!! The human, he’s in danger! He ran in, and I. . . I tried to stop him! Timber wolves. . they just-” Rainbow dash put a hoof to her frightened friend’s lips with confidence.

“Hey, don’t sweat it, I got this! You go get the others. I’ll go save him,” proclaimed Rainbow Dash with a strong smirk.

“B-but the timber wolves have him surrounded! They’re so many of them, you can’t just-”

“I said I got this!” Rainbow Dash interrupted. Fluttershy stopped mid sentence and stared into her friend’s magenta eyes. She smiled in return, moving the hoof to her shoulder. “Come on, when have I ever left you hanging? Hmmm? I’ll get him out of their in ten seconds flat!” Rainbow Dash declared with a strong, brave smile that radiated with confidence, as it usually did. Before Fluttershy could respond, Rainbow Dash leaned back and zipped right past here, creating a gust of wind in her wake. She looked towards the direction of where her dear friend went and nodded with a firm stare.

“I believe in you, Rainbow Dash,” Fluttershy whispered faintly to herself and she flew off to find Twilight.

“AHHHHH!!!! Damn it!!!” Hector cried out in pain as he was slammed into a tree, the jaws of a timber wolf snapping right in front of his face. Hector grunted in pain and annoyance as he struggled to pry the creature off of himself and threw it the beast to the side. It slammed into another timber wolf and they both crumbled away into pieces. Hector leaned against the tree, panting towards the ever growing pack of timber wolves who stood in his way, snarling and snapping at him.

“This is complete bull crap. Every time I knock them down, they just get back up! That dumb horse should be gone by now, if I could run I would,” One jumped at him but he quickly spartan kicked it in the face, shattering it. “Sadly that is just not an option now is it! How about we just call this a draw? How about it guys?” A pair of them leaned back and lunged at him in response. He dodged one but the other pounced onto him and pinned him to the ground.

“I guess that’s a maybe?” The timber wolf bit down into his shoulder but didn’t get in too deep before Hector managed to pry it off. “Take. . . me out. . . to dinner first. . . big boy!” With a knee and a right hook, the creature dispersed. Hector didn’t have a breath to spare before the other jumped again after him. hector planted his right foot into it’s chest and flung him over, crashing it into another tree and broke apart. Another charged for the kill but he slammed that same foot down onto it’s head, shattering it.

“Come on, I got all day!” He got back up just in time to dodge a charge and roundhouse kicked another upside the head. “Too slow, puppy,” He then spun on that leg but his leg gave out and he fell, missing his shot. He shouted in pain as he fell to one knee. Upon examination, he saw his socks were drenched in blood and started soaking into his shoes. While he was distracted, Hector saw a brown and green blur shooting for him. He kicked it as hard as he could, but he was far too hurt and didn’t even push it off. The wolf landed on him and opened it’s mouth wide to shout at him.

“Oh my, what big teeth you have, ya cock sucker!” He slammed his fist into it’s mouth and it fell apart on him. He crawled back to his feet but he had to lean against a boulder. They circled around him and he tried to keep his eyes on all of them. “Well, let’s make this good guys, come on!” He grabbed a long branch and with a single punch, broke a piece of it and swung it around like a staff.

“If I’m going down, I’m going down like a champ! Bring it, you worthless dogs!” They snarled in rage at him and all at the same time, they all charged in for the kill. Hector narrowed his eyes in a serious glare and swung with all of his might. He managed to eliminate the first row of attackers, but the next was right behind them. There was no way he could change the direction of the force so quickly, and he knew he was done for. He brought the stick up for one last strike, but as he did, he felt something grab him really really quick and everything was just a blur all around him.

“What the fu-” Hector looked up to see what grabbed him, and the blue pegasus had him in her arms, grunting and flying quickly.

“You know. . . you could lose a few pounds,” She glanced down at him with a half smirk. “Just saying,” Hector glared up at her annoyed.

“God damn it! I’ve had enough of-” Hector started to shout out furiously. Before he could finish though, he felt a small branch smack him across the face, cutting him even further. “Ow! Watch where you’re flying, you crazy, flying horse!” His rescuer glared down at him for that, in which he glared back up at her.

“Listen you, I am kinda saving you at the moment, show some gratitude, bucko,” She grunted as she tried to lift him up a bit higher, struggling. “I’m not se to carrying something as big and as heavy as you,” The flying pony lifted him up just a little more as they cleared the forest and she dropped him onto the ground, making him roll onto the ground.

Hector rolled onto the ground roughly, every inch of rolling shot up powerful pain all throughout his whole body. He shouted and cried out until he finally stopped. His saviour turned back around sharply and looked down at him.

“Oh stop your complaining, you big baby! I didn’t drop you that-” Her frustrated expression dropped as she looked him over. Her narrowed eyes opened wide in horror as her eyes slowly scanned down his body. She slowly brought her front hooves to her jaw dropping mouth. “Oh my Celestia! They got you bad!”

“What? Is it really that bad?” He glanced down and tried to follow her gaze. His shirt was torn up so badly they looked more like bloody rags. His pants had cuts and rips all throughout here and there, but could be stitched back up. As he looked at it, he could feel the pain in him once more and slammed his head back in pain, gritting his teeth. “Ohhh that feels just. . . . lovely! I’m gonna be sore in the morning,”

“Hang on, let me get some help, just stay here!”

“Oh no, I was hoping to go for a jog through town, or get an ice cream, or maybe I’ll go hiking through- OF COURSE I’M GONNA STAY RIGHT HERE!!!” Hector yelled in anger and pain and he settled back down, panting. The tomboy-ish pony rolled her eyes and started to fly away, but stopped.

“Twilight! Over here!”

“Twilight?” Hector whispered. He looked up to see the lavender pony with a horn and wings. “Oh. . . right. . . forgot about her,” The pony called Twilight was flying over until she saw Hector, then she just appeared right in front of him, startling him. “Sweet Jesus! How did you do that?!”

“Never mind that, you are hurt, badly! Fluttershy told me what happened. That was really stupid of you to do. . . but it was brave, thank you,” Twilight smiled over him and then looked over his body. Hector’s vision was blurring up, fading in and out from the darkness of slumber threatening to take over. Even the voices around him were fading, as if they were entering a tunnel. “Rainbow Dash, I need you. . . . . . carefully and. . . . . . Fluttershy’s house,”

Hector tried to stay awake as long as he could, but he was losing his grip. He tasted a bit of blood, which he expected from all of his injuries, and he smiled. He hoped that he would wake up from this dream, and return to his old home. Little did he know, such things are never as they seem.

“Wait, he slept in YOUR bed?!” Bon Bon shouted out loud in alarm. Lyra smiled embarrassingly and looked around, seeing everypony around them staring. She laughed nervously and glared back at her best friend.

“Not so loud! Shush! Yes, he did, I slept on the couch,” Lyra explained, her chucks a little red from the outburst.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t believe you did that. I mean, I told you we don’t know what he is, he could be dangerous,” Bon Bon explained to her friend while they sat at the park on one of their favorite benches by the pond. Bon Bon sat like every other pony did, and of course, Lyra did not quite follow that protocol, sitting up right and her legs crossed.

“He isn’t a wild animal, you know! He is actually really nice. We aren’t all that different, besides the fact that he walks on two legs and has those hands. He’s smart, he talks, he sleeps, he eats, he likes OJ and he is funny,” Lyra explained thoroughly, lifting her nose up in the air and her eyes closed. “He is actually rather cute, believe it or not!”

“Lyra!” Bon Bon sighed, shaking her head. “Ok, maybe he’s not an animal, but he is still a stallion, and stallions have needs. You should know after dating Thunder-” Lyra put a hoof in her best friend’s mouth, silencing her on the spot.

“I told you we would never speak of him again, got it?! It didn’t work out, he was a pig, end of story, drop it!” Lyra pulled her hoof back with a sigh, looking away from her. “He cheated on me with Cloud Chaser, and we haven’t talked since then,” She shook away a tear, forcing it back. “There’s nothing to talk about now,”

“Lyra, I’m. . . I’m sorry. You’re right, I didn’t mean to bring up something painful,” Bon Bon looked away from her, glancing up at the sky. “He was a pig, you’re right. What he did was wrong. I was just trying to say that they have needs, physical ones. Even if he may not feel them right now, I’m scared that he will,” She looked back down at her with sympathy. “I am only trying to look out for you. You don’t always make the best choices, you know,”

“I know. . . trust me I know,” Lyra whispered mostly to herself. She slowly turned back towards her with a small, sad smile. “I’ve screwed up in the past, but I know I am right about this one. I’m not saying I want to be his-” She stopped herself due to her heart starting to race. She thought about him, thinking of what it would be like if they were together. Her face lit up with a blush and she forced herself to look away from her earth pony friend. “- I mean, it’s crazy, right? A unicorn. . . and a human. . . . dating. . . I mean, that’s just insane!” Bon Bon narrowed her eyes at her.

“You like him. . . . don’t you Lyra?” Bon Bon said calmly yet firmly, holding her glare at her. The unicorn in question looked back at her with a shy smile.

“That obvious?”

“More obvious than the rising of Celestia’s sun, my friend,”

“Yeah, I thought so,” Lyra hung her head low with a depressed sigh. “Don’t worry about it, though. There is no way he has any interest in me anyway,” Lyra leaned further back in her seat, looking up at the sky. Bon Bon Shook her head at that, sighing.

“Yeah, like that has NEVER happened before,” Bon Bon said to herself as she looked around the park. Lyra turned back with a strange look on her face.

“What. . . . what do you mean by that?” Lyra asked innocently. Bon Bon quickly turned to her with a raised eyebrow.

“Oh really? You really don’t know?” Bon Bon asked sternly towards her, holding her raised eyebrow. Lyra shook her head slowly, wearing a look of confusion. Bon Bon faced hoof herself and shook her head. “That is like. . . every story ever. A stallion, not from around her, stuck in a town he’s not familiar in, forced to stay at a mare’s house till he get’s back on his hooves and they slowly develop feelings for one another,” Lyra’s confused expression slowly transformed to that of hope and joy.

“Really? Do you really think that will happen?!” Lyra asked with a large smile on her face, beaming down at her. Bon Bon burst into laughter at her face.

“Oh Celestia no! This isn’t a book or a story! This is really life! That kind of stuff doesn’t exist!” Bon Bon shouted out in a fit of laughter. Discord sat down in his favorite chair in the tree close by above them, chuckling to himself.

“Oh my, what foolish little ponies! Of course this is a story! Of course the earth pony does have a point. Something like that is COMPLETELY clique! I hope the writer is hoping to NOT be so predictable! Even I can see that coming a mile away!” Discord announced to himself, stuffing a claw full of popcorn into his mouth. Pinkie Pie popped out of a branch above him and glared at him furiously.

“DISCORD!! We aren’t supposed to be breaking the fourth wall here! We shook on it that we are just gonna act the part we were given, don’t you remember that?” The pink party pony asked firmly towards the spirit of chaos, who chuckled innocently in reply.

“Oh come now, Pinkie, I have no idea what you could possibly be talking about,” He sighed with a sly smile, lowering his 3D glasses. Pinkie grabbed the fur on his neck and pulled him to her, glaring down at him. His smile disappeared and he now looked at her directly in her eyes with concern.

“Discord! I know you remember that deal!” She responded back aggressively. Discord smirked back at her.

“I also remember crossing my claws behind me while making that promise,”

“Discord!”

“I mean, you don’t really expect me to miss this opportunity like-”

“DISCORD!!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed with anger, now shaking him.

“Ok, ok, I get it, stop it!” The mischievous creature demanded. Pinkie Pie held her glare but slowly let him go. “Ok, the least I can do is tone it down. I will stay out of the spotlight and just merely watch with glee. Is that fair?” He asked with a small but polite smile. The pink earth pony nodded and relaxed her glare a bit.

“Ok, I suppose that’s ok. You better go through with it this time,” She demanded gently, relaxing now. Discord smiled back and nodded.

“I promise that I will,” He assured her with a charming smile. She nodded back and slowly disappeared into the branch. Discord chuckled with an evil grin as he lifted his tail, the claws on it entwined with one another. “Never trust the spirit of chaos! I don’t plan on stopping any time soon!”

Discord looked over at the readers and laughed menacingly. He put another claw full of popcorn into his mouth and rose the 3D glasses back over his eyes.

“Trust me, you all will be seeing me often. I’m sure we will get along famously! Things are going to get really good! In fact, just wait when you guys find out that Hector is actually-” Suddenly the branch above him started shaking. Before DIscord could look up, Pinkie Pie jumped out of it and tackled him, launching him out of the tree they were in.

“DISCORD!!! YOU PROMISED!!!!” They landed hard onto the ground, landing with a loud THUD! Discord tried to get away, starting to make a run for it.

“Pinkie! I swear it was just a joke! Please, I’m sorry, I’ll stop, I swear!” Discord pleaded with fear, but the pink pony did not react. She knocked him back down onto the ground, making him land on his stomach with both arms extended out.

“Oh no you don’t! You’re gonna pay for this!!” She grabbed his legs and started to drag him into a bush. Discord dug his claws into the dirt but it merely slowed her down. She tugged and dragged him slowly into the bush without mercy. Discord looked up at the readers with pure fear implanted on his face.

“You gotta help me! Please! She’s lost it! Come on! Help meeeeeeee!!!!” His voice trailed off as he slowly disappeared into the bush. His screams could still be heard within the bush. Pinkie Pie poked her head out and smiled at the crowd.

“Sorry guys, please ignore him. He likes to be a little bit of a troll. Let me see if I can persuade him to behave. Thanks for reading this chapter. The next one will be out shortly!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed with a big, friendly, cheerful smile. “Now if you guys will excuse me, I have to have a little. . . ‘talk’ with my friend here,” She slowly lowered herself back into the bush.

“Come now, Pinkie, we can be reasonable here! Let’s talk this out. Wait. . . Pinkie. . . where did you. . . oh sweet Celestia, where did you get that?!” A chainsaw could be heard starting up, the deadly device could be heard revving up a few times before it’s mechanical roar cried out. All of the ponies in the park stared at the bush questioningly. “What are you going to do with that?! Pinkie? Pinkie why are you looking at me like that?! What are you doing?! No, NO! No no no, not in the face! NOT IN THE FACE!!!”

“He’s going through cardiac arrest!! Get the paddles!” What? Who said that? “Alright, he’s good, heart’s steady. Let’s get this poor man cleaned up,” Am. . . am I being operated on? Am I at the hospital? “I’m sorry, ma’am, you can’t see him right now,” Who? “Hector? Hector! I. . . do I know that voice?” “Hector! Hector!”

“Hector!”

“Hector!”

“Hector! Hector wake up!” Hector’s eyes suddenly opened wide in surprise, cold sweat running down his cheeks. He was panting hard, his heart pounding in his chest. He looked up towards the voice that called out his name in the darkness. “Hector, are you ok? You were fidgeting and mumbling in your sleep just now. Where you having a nightmare?” Asked the lavender alicorn standing before him. He noticed he was lying in a bed of what appeared to be a cottage house.

“I. . . ummm. . . I. . .I don’t know. I. . . I thought I heard someone. . . .calling for me,” Hector tried to explain, hazy and tired from his restless slumber. He had one eye shut as he used his other eye to look at her, wincing. “So you’re Lightwing or something, right?” The blue pegasus before was behind her, hiding a chuckle. The alicorn glared at her and then closed her eyes and took a deep breath before looking back down at him with a friendly smile.

“No, but close. My name is Princess Twilight Sparkle, but you can just call me Twilight! I was the one calling for you,” The alicorn explained with her smile. She did seem nice overall in general, but she seemed more intrigued about it than friendly. “So let me introduce you to some of my friends! The one that pulled you out of the Everfree forest was Rainbow Dash,” She pointed a hoof over to the sky blue pegasus who crossed her arms with a cocky smirk, still hovering in the air with her wings.

“I still didn’t get a thank you or anything,” She pointed out with a playful smirk. “I mean, I did save your life, after all,” Hector couldn’t help but chuckle at that. He tried to lean forward but felt his whole body stinging. “Oh, easy there buddy, you did just big fella. You did just come out of a fight with a pack of timber wolves,” He he he, I like her.

“Well, then my apologies, oh grand supreme hero! I am, forever in your debt!” Hector acted out as if he was a demsal speaking to her white knight, coated thickly with sarcasm. Rainbow Dash leaned back and laughed at that.

“I like him Twilight. If he needs to he can crash with me at my place,” Rainbow Dash exclaimed, still laughing. “I could use a slave to do my chorus around my house,” Hector rolled his eyes, unimpressed.

“In your dreams!” He replied quickly.

“Ok ok, enough. Now then, Rainbowdash, it would be rather difficult for him to live with you, your house is made out of clouds. Now since you don’t have a home, I’d like to introduce you to your new room mate while your wounds are healing,” Twilight explained as she started to take a step back to reveal a very shy and timid yellow pegasus with a pink mane. Hector chuckle softly at her. Aww, she’s actually cute! Rainbow Dash then spun herself up above her and put her hooves together to amplify her voice, taking a stance like an announcer of a boxing ring.

“She’s not only the one who warned me about your whereabouts, but she also cleaned and patched you up. She is the element of Kindness, she is the ultimate animal tamer, Ponyville's most shyest pony, heeeeerrrrrrrrrreee’s Fluttershyyyyyyyyyy!!!!” She then flew around in circles above her then zipped past Twilight and touched down. Twilight raised an eyebrow at her.

“Really? Was that necessary?” She asked blankly towards the now chuckling Rainbow Dash.

“Well of course! I had to make my friend look good!” She explained with a proud pose, chin up with a smile. Fluttershy stepped up towards him, not really timid anymore.

“Hello, umm, it’s nice to meet you,” Fluttershy explained with a faint blush, tapping the floor with her front hoof.”I’ll be honest, ummmm, I tend animals, and you are. . . . . uhhh, a little different. I promise to make your stay here as pleasant as possible, and help you while you look for a home for yourself,”

“Oh, uhhh, yeah, I kinda already have a roommate I’m crashing with, so thanks for-” Hector tried to start, but suddenly all three of them jumped over to him in a flash.

WHHHHAAAATTT?!?!?!?!?!” They all shouted in synchronization. Hector jumped back by the sudden approach of them and shouting at him.

“Owww, owww, volume, girls. . . . I think, you are all girls, right?” Hector asked innocently enough. Twilight looked offended for a second, but shook her head and stepped back.

“I’m sorry, look, we just saw you land here, how did you find someone to shelter you so quickly?” She asked with a concerned face.

“Some unicorn found me while I was running, and said I could crash at her place,” Hector explained calmly.

“But we were asking all over the place, we asked everyone! Who did you stay with?!”

Lyra Heartstrings was in her house, searching all over the place furiously. A group of bags were placed on the table, and Hector’s breakfast dishes were cleaned and drying on the dish rack. Lyra Peeked out of the curtain, scanned quickly, then looked back at the chair that he was sitting on before she left.

“Ohhh, Hector, I told you not to go anywhere, where did you go!” She looked back in her bedroom, resting the side of her head against the door frame. “Please, please just be ok. I just want you to be back home safely,” As she sighed softly, there was a knock at her door. Her ears perked up towards it and her head followed. She teleported towards it and opened it quickly with her magic. Hector stood there with a guilty smile.

“H-hey Lyra, ummmm, I’m sorry. . . . I kinda did a bad thing,” Hector apologized with some regret in his voice. Lyra wanted to hug him, but then wanted to smack him. She then took a deep breath and gave him a firm stare.

“You’re right. I told you not to leave this house, remember?!” Lyra replied as she held her glare.

“Oh, wait, what?” He replied with, now confused and lost.

“I mean, you’re hurt and injured! What happens if you fell or something?” Lyra tried to explain, her glare softening a bit, mixed now with concern.

“Uhhh, wait, hang on Lyra-” Hector tried to get out, slightly glancing over to his left.

“Not only that, what if somepony saw you?!” Lyra explained, ending with a sigh.

“Lyra?” Before Lyra could reply, Twilight and Rainbow Dash walked out from his sides and glared at her. Lyra’s eyes widen with shock and horror and her jaw dropped. “Yeah, I was wrong. I did two bad things,” Lyra gulped down in fear.

“He he he, hey girls,”

“YOU told US that you’ve never seen a. . . as you called. . . a human, and that if you ever saw one, we’d be the first ponies you’d tell!” Rainbow Dash pointed out aggressively, hovering over her with her front arms crossed. Twilight walked up to the now sitting Lyra, sitting in an arm chair with her legs crossed and her head low.

“We really needed to find him, and you knew this. You lied to us, and that wasn’t right. You withheld the truth from us,” Twilight stated out staley, clearly disappointed in her.

“I know, I know. I should have told you girls, but come on,” Lyra started, turning to look up to her. “I’ve always wanted to meet a human, and I am now roommates with him! He lives with ME! I was scared that if I told you girls, you’d take him away,” Twilight placed a hoof on her shoulder gently.

“But we do. He is hurt, badly. Fluttershy can tend to his injuries. Then we need to learn about him and try to help him merge with our culture. He needs OUR help,” Twilight tried to explain softly and calmly. Fluttershy twitched at the sound of her name, hiding in the back.

“Ummm, you, uhhh, could visit. . . . anytime, of course,” She tried to point out, trying to defuse the tension.

“But I could help him! I know more about humans than anypony in Ponyville!” Lyra exclaimed firmly. Twilight was about to object but stopped herself. She was right, even though there was never a human ever in Equestria, she was right. She knew about them when everyone thought they were just her imagination, yet here was one now.

“You. . . . you do have a point, I will admit, but this is our duty to-” Twilight started to explain. Hector, who was sitting on the couch, stood up and grunted in annoyance.

“ENOUGH! I am not some toy or pet, I am a human being. . . . which has no meaning at this point of time, so I withdraw that,” He looked away, embarrassed, then looked back firmly and serious once again. “I am not property, got it! I decide who I stay with! I think that’s fair!” Twilight and her friend’s jaws dropped by his sudden outburst. Fluttershy quickly looked away, seemingly discouraged now.

“Well, I suppose you are right, and we shouldn’t treat you as such,” She smiled gently and stood up tall. “You may choose who you stay with, but I do recommend us,”

“I bet, but I’m sticking with Lyra here!” Hector announced. Lyra blushed and looked up just in time to watch him walk up to her and wrap an arm around her shoulder, causing her to blush even more. “She has been a real friend to me ever since I met her, not some alien specimen in a lab. No offense to you, Rainbow Dash, you’ve been cool the whole time, thanks again for the rescue,”

“Yes! I’m the cool one!” Rainbow Dash recited excitedly as she did a hoof pump in the air. Twilight turned annoyed at her. “What, you know it’s true,” She grinned and chuckled at her own remark. With another sigh, she slowly turned and looked back at Hector.

“Then that’s your choice. I’m sorry for how I treated you, I never meant any offense,” Twilight apologized softly. Hector chuckled at that.

“You’re cool, no hard feelings, I just like her more,” He replied smoothly, giving Lyra a quick squeeze.

“Well then I’ll leave you two be. Just make sure to come by for check ups, ok?” Twilight pleaded towards the human, leaning forward with a concerned look. Hector laughed softly and pulled his arm back, took a step towards her, and then offered it to her.

“Yes doctor Twilight, I will come by for your check ups,” Hector said playfully, smirking down at her.Twilight smiled back up, bashfully, and placed her hoof in his hand which then they shook.

“Thank you, Hector. We’ll try to ease your public appearance, just try to stay here while you heal a bit, ok?” She asked as she put her hoof back down and turned to walk out the door.

“Ok, I will this time, good luck!” With a final nod and smile, Twilight and her friends left one by one. Fluttershy was the last one, glanced up at Hector, and then closed the door. Hector sighed in relief. “Phew! I thought they’d never leave us alone,” He turned around to see Lyra froze in her chair, still blushing deeply. “Lyra? Did I break you?” He asked playfully, walking up to her and took a knee to look up at her.

“Oh, what?!” She snapped out of it and looked away. “Oh, no, sorry, I was just. . . really embarrassed about having an argument with a princess. . . . that’s all,” Hector raised an eyebrow at her, not believing her.

“Well, in most situations I would call bull crap, but since I am so tired and sore, I will drop the subject,” He then walked back to the crouch and quickly lowered himself back onto it. “Ohh, too fast, ouch,” Lyra looked up at him.

“Are you ok? Do you need help, or need me to get you anything?” Lyra asked, concerned. Hector took a deep breath and relaxed his body.

“Naw, it hurts a lot less than it looks, trust me. In fact, it only stings,” He explained with a confident smile, bringing his hands back behind his head as a pillow.

“Oh, well then I guess that’s good to know. Maybe twilight knew a healing spell or something,” Lyra thought out loud. She looked over at him, shyly. “ So, did you mean what you said. . . to Twilight?”

“Of course, every word,” Hector replied, yawning softly to himself. He closed his eyes and smiled to himself. “You have treated me like a real friend ever since I came here. It may be a little soon to say, but you seem like a real ok kind of girl, or pony, whatever you like more,” Lyra gripped her hair and smiled softly, looking away.

“You can call me whatever you like,” She gulped at what she said and shook her head. “I mean, whatever makes it easier for you. I bet this is a lot to take in as is,” She then walked over and pulled out a carton of lemonade and started to pour some in a glass, levitating them both. “If you have any questions, please do not feel hesitant to ask me, any question at all,”

“Anything?” Hector asked curiously, opening his eyes. With her back turned towards him, she smiled softly and innocently.

“Of course, anything at all, don’t hold back,” Lyra replied with enthusiasm. Hector watched her for a moment, then examined her tail.

“How is it that, no matter what, every single pony that I have seen so far, your tails cover up your private parts all the time. How do you get your tails to cover that area like all the time, at every angle?” Hector heard a sudden crash over to Lyra. He looked up at her face as she had just started turning and the glass in her levitation spell dropped, dropping the glass and shattering onto the floor. Her whole face was beat red and her lip quivered slightly.

“Soooo. . . . . . I am guessing a little too fast?” Hector asked cautiously. Lyra did not say anything back, just simply nodded. “Ok, well then good thing I didn’t ask my first question,”

“What in tartarus could that have be then?!”

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

“Well, I guess you can say we tried girls. We’re just gonna have to put his fate in her hooves,” Twilight said to her friends, walking away from Lyra’s home.

“Umm, Twilight? Do. . umm, do you think, uhh, that he will be. . . . ok there?” Fluttershy asked nervously, hiding behind her mane.

“Well, she is a fanatic. I mean who knows, she might try to mess with him in his sleep or something,” Rainbow Dash said jokingly, snickering. Fluttershy’s eyes popped open and her ears perked up at that. Twilight glared up at her.

“Rainbow Dash, come on! She wouldn’t try anything, and you know it!” Twilight stated firmly, holding her gaze at her airborne friend.

“True, but I will bet you ten bits that she is gonna try to have a ‘peek’ at his ‘goods’, if you know what I mean,” Rainbow Dash bursted into laughter from that. Fluttershy’s face went beat red and she looked at the ground just a few feet behind her. Twilight grew a slight blush from that.

“Rainbow Dash, enough! How could you even think that? She just got through a bad break up already,”

“Yeah, like seven months ago,”

“But she caught him. . . well. . . you know,”

“Yeah yeah, half of Ponyville knows. Remember, you filled his locker with pink toothpaste,”

“You’re not getting it. She wouldn’t move on so quickly!”

While Twilight and Rainbow Dash bickered and argued back and forth if Lyra Heartstrings would try anything on Hector or not, Fluttershy, fell a little further back from them. She held her gaze at the ground as her blush remained.

“She. . . she wouldn’t. . . would she?” Fluttershy asked softly under her breath. “I mean. . . she does like humans, and she IS with one now. . . does. . . does that mean. . . no, he wouldn’t!” She thought back when Hector wrapped his arm around Lyra’s shoulders. . . . . her blush. “She has been a real friend to me ever since I met her, not some alien specimen in a lab,” His words echoed briefly in her head.

“Maybe. . . . maybe I should try. . . to be friends with him,” She quickly smiled at the thought with a soft and quick giggle. “I’d like that, I’d like that a lot,”

“Hey Fluttershy, don’t start falling behind!” Rainbow Dash called over towards her. She looked up surprised to see she had fallen several feet behind.

“Oh, sorry, coming!” She opened her wings and flew over to them to catch up.

“Awww, looks like my own room mate has a little crush on the strong lad, now it’s that adorable!” Discord said to himself, looking down at them from a street lamp down the road behind them. “Ohhh I am sooooo gonna pick on her for this, oh it will be just so much fun!!” Discord laughed to himself and stood up from the lamp post and stretched. He quickly looked over to the-

“Are you crazy?! Stop focusing on me! Are you trying to get me killed?” Discord asked in a state of panic. “There you go, you’re still doing it, stop it!” Oh, so what do you want me to do, huh? We gotta add bit of comedy here. Admit it, you’re funny. “Well I know that is indeed true,” Discord chuckled and placed a paw proudly on his chest, snickering. “Oh who am I kidding, I know a good time better than all,” His look went back to serious, putting his claw and paw at his hips.”But if I am talking to you and. . . you know, THEM, Pinkie will come back and-” Oh crap, sorry man, I completely forgot. Here, we’ll just end it here. “No, not here, she’ll find out, just go focus on something else at the last second to give a cliffhanger or something,” Why not just edit it out? “As if you proofread!” Fair enough, ok, just go! Discord quickly snapped his fingers and vanished without a trace.

Returning to Lyra and Hector, Lyra was sitting at the kitchen bar, her face red and aimed away from Hector. Hector was chuckling a little, trying not to.

“I told you you didn’t want to hear it, you should have listened,” Lyra placed her head down on the bar, sighing.

“And I wish I listened,” She opened her eyes and looked onto the floor, seeing a wallet lying on the floor. “Oh, Hey Hector, is this yours?” She grabbed it with her yellow aura and levitated it over to him, floating in front of his face.

“Oh yeah, yes it is. Just put it on the table. All that’s in their is my cash and ID, useless here,” Hector explained, stretching out his arms and legs. Lyra levitated it back and smiled over to him.

“Mind if I see your I.D.?” She asked excitedly and curiously. Hector chuckled at that.

“Yeah, sure, go right ahead. It don’t matter to me anymore. Look at it, throw it away, use it to clog a drain, do whatever you want,” He answered back blankly. Lyra snickered and opened it up.

“Then maybe I’ll keep it,”

“Will maybe you should, see if I care,” He smirked and closed his eyes again to relax. Lyra pulled out his I.D. and examined it. He had a very charming smile, his hair neatly groomed to the side with a little style. A black leather jacket and a white shirt on.

“Wow, don’t you just look like a tough stallion here,” She then pulled out another picture right behind it and her jaw dropped.

“Stallion? Oh, right, yeah back then I was a little more wild. I got pretty tamed since then, but my friends say the old side of my kicks in every now and then,” Hector explained, chuckling to himself. “I’m starting to think they’re right. It’s fun being a smart mouth,” Lyra held in her magical aura was a picture of Hector and another girl kissing in the picture.

“H-h-h-he has a special somepony already?!” She spun around to confront him about it, but he was snoring softly. His hands still up behind his head. “Wh-when did he?” She looked back at the picture and with a sad and defeated look, she tucked the photo back in and then the I.D. back in it’s clear sleeve, on top of the picture. She shook her head and took the wallet and started walking over to the bed.

“No. . . no he doesn’t. It just. . . just can’t be right, I mean he lives here now. That was the past and this is now,”
