Green grass. Green, green grass. That was the first thing he saw when he managed to force his eyes open that morning. He was in terrible pain. His legs ached and his head pounded, as if he got into the worst of fights.

That's because he did.

"Urgh....Ow, owowow...whe-where am I?"

His eyes opened fully and focused on the grass he was lying on. It looked different, but at the same time, there was nothing really peculiar about it. It was just grass, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it was that made it stand out so much. He felt like he was lying in Green Hill, where he spent his childhood, but it clearly wasn't.

He couldn't hear any water.

With some effort, the blue hedgehog moved his arm and pushed himself off of the ground, straining while he did so. He felt achy, as if he hadn't moved for a long time. The sun shone brightly into his eyes, blurring his vision. He rubbed them lightly.

Before even thinking about where he currently was, his mind ran back to what happened to him. Why was he sore? Why was he in the middle of nowhere? Unsurprisingly, his memories contained running, only this time, he was running away from something. Something large, something unstoppable, something bright, but he couldn't remember. He wasn't alone. Someone was with him. He couldn't quite remember who, but they could keep up with him. The only thing he could remember about the person, was their voice, screaming after him.


"Run! Sonic, run!"


After that, he couldn't remember anything. His mind was blank. Sonic brought his attention back to his surroundings, studying them carefully. The sky was bright blue, not a single cloud in sight. The landscape and his natural surroundings seemed...odd. Sonic couldn't think why, but they did. As far as he could tell, he was all by himself.

"Just where am I?" he thought aloud. Sonic walked slowly through the forest, looking side to side at everything he could, like someone who hadn't been outside for years. In the distance, he spotted a very dense town. He could see life among the buildings, but one detail caught Sonic off guard. Everyone walked on all fours. He wasn't in a human world anymore. They were all different colors and sizes, some laughing together, others just minding their own business. If Sonic's arrival was violent (which it felt like it was) wouldn't someone notice?

With a location to investigate, Sonic started to run. He wasn't breaking any speed records, just jogging.

One his way, he began to think again. What was he going to find? Was it a regular town he had never seen? Was he on another alien planet? Worst case scenario, he was in Blaze's universe. Again. He never explored her world, so it seemed plausible. Sonic was still a fair distance from the town, but he could see more. He spotted a massive fancy structure and a home built into a tree. Sonic's eyes were so fixated on what was ahead of him, that he failed to notice a pink creature bounce into his path until he was right next to it.

"Hi!" it gleefully squeaked. Sonic yelped in fright and tripped over his own foot, falling to the ground. The creature side-stepped him so he didn't knock it down. His heart beat furiously. He wasn't sure if it was the running or the fright that did it. The fall didn't help his aches either. Lying on the ground, he tilted his head up to face what had interrupted his run.

The 'being' was actually, to Sonic's surprise, a pink pony with an equally bright pink mane, which could only be described as being 'everywhere'. She had bright blue eyes, wide with excitement with an innocent, friendly smile to boot. It bounced happily toward Sonic. He moved a few space back as he had no idea what it wanted. it seemed harmless enough.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you!", she spoke cheerfully. "I'm Pinkie Pie! What's your name?" Sonic was baffled. How could anyone simply talk to a complete stranger they knew for literally less that 20 seconds? Little did he know, it was what she did best. Sonic grinned before answering her question, her head inches from his face.

"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog", he replied with a smile. His proclamation was cut short by Pinkie giggling to herself.

"That's siiilllly! You're not a hedgehog! You're as tall as I am! You run on two feet! You're blue!" she giggled. Sonic wasn't entirely surprised to hear this. It wasn't the first time someone would say something like this to him. Despite her disbelief of him, Pinkie still smiled happily. Sonic couldn't help but smile as well. He liked her already.

"Sorry to sound weird, but where exactly am I?", Sonic asked. Pinkie again began to giggle.

"Silly you, how could you not know?! You're in Equestria! Right over there is Ponyvillie!" she explained, pointing toward the town. Sonic let the names run through his mind, but he had nothing. He wasn't in his world anymore. He was somewhere else...Somewhere new to explore. He wondered if he was alone in "Equestria", but his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Pinkie Pie who was studying him literally inches from his face.

"Oh! You should really go see Twilight! She'll be interested to see someone like you! Oh! But not nearly as interested as Fluttershy! She loves animals and-"

"Look", Sonic cut in, before his brain became filled with random names, "Can I see someone who might be able to help me out or tell me where I am? As in, in conjunction to everywhere else?" Pinkie titled her head slightly before smiling again.

"I'm gonna guess Twilight is the pony for you! Follow me!" She said proudly, bouncing gleefully toward the town, making audible bouncing noises. Sonic briefly wondered how she was doing that. He had no idea where he was or how he got there, but he knew one thing for certain. Pinkie Pie amused him.


A few minutes earlier


"And so the speed of sound amounts to 340 meters per second. Meh, that kind of knowledge is child's play." Twilight put down yet another book. She felt like studying physics. Only she could ever feel like studying. It was a very quiet day for once. Applejack was busy on the farm, Fluttershy was with her animal friends, Rainbow Dash was somewhere in the air, Rarity was working on outfits and Pinkie Pie was...somewhere. Probably planning a party. The reason? She didn't need one. It was going to be a quiet day to herself. Nothing important was going to happen...

All of a sudden, fate knocked at the door, probably due to Twilight tempting it. It was a colorful flurry of knocks in a tune. It was plainly obvious who it was.

"Come in Pinkie!"

"Hi Twilight!"

"Hey Pinkie, what's up?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just planning a surprise party for Dashie", she gleefully replied.

"Go figure. Any particular reason?"

"This is the 5th day in a row she has kept the skies clear! I thought she needed a nice surprise as thanks!" she squealed. She pulled out a random party blower from thin air and blew it, making Twilight jump.

"Ah! Please give me a warning before you do that. You could scare someone! Anyway I doubt that-...hey, what's that in the distance?" She said, drawn to the window. Pinkie Pie joined her as they gazed far beyond Ponyvillie. A blue figure stood far away, looking bewildered. "Eh, it's probably just some pony off for a walk", she dismissed it. Pinkie Pie however, was very curious.

"I'm gonna check it out! It could be fun!"

"If you are, please don't disturb whoever it might be if they are just walking", Twilight warned. Pinkie happily nodded her head and sped out of the door. There went her quiet day.


Present time


Yet another tuneful knock on the door. This time it was much faster and much louder. Pinkie was obviously excited.

"TWILIGHT! OPEN UP, I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU!!", she shouted through the door.

"I told you, I'm a hedgehog. Hedgehog.", a male voice quietly spoke.

"Ok, Pinkie, I'll open the door", and she did just that. "I hope you didn't find anything dangerous-what on Earth is that?" she quietly spoke, staring at the blue creature standing next to a smiling Pinkie Pie.

"Well, hello to you too", replied Sonic the Hedgehog with a sly grin.

Twilight sighed with irritation. Looks like someone thought it was fancy dress day. "Alright, Pinkie Pie, jokes over. Who is under that costume? Applejack? Rainbow Dash?” Twilight sighed as she reached to bite the face of what she thought was just an old Nightmare Night costume. She was impressed at how well the pony inside managed to stand upright. Sonic took a few steps back outside to avoid her bite. Pinkie Pie just stood there observing what was going on.

"Hey! What do you think you are doing?!" Sonic shouted, putting up a hand to defend his face. "I'm not a fake!" 

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, Rainbow Dash", she replied. She attempted to use her magic on him, but to no effect. Sonic just stood there, totally confused. Annoyed, Twilight took a leap at Sonic. This time however, Sonic was ready to move. Before she could react, Sonic darted past the still mid-air Twilight and the puzzled Pinkie into the house. He moved at such speed that Pinkie's mane straightened completely flat, only for it to instantly poof back into place. They both ran back into the house and both looked in puzzlement at the frightened hedgehog. Sonic found himself hanging onto one of the nearby bookshelves, high above the ponies. They walked up to where he was hanging. Pinkie seemed amused by what was going on. Twilight, not so much.

"Rainbow Dash! Take off that stupid costume! And how are you disguising your voice?" Twilight shouted angrily to the hedgehog. Sonic shot her a confused look.

"Who the heck is Rainbow Dash?! I'm real!" he exclaimed back to her. "I genuinely don't know who this 'Rainbow Dash' person or pony is! Look, she can vouch for me, I'm a real hedgehog." He shouted back, pointing at Pinkie.

"It's true. When I met him, he was on his way toward the town. He was going pretty fast, but I swear he was just jogging though. But yeah, he's real all right!" Pinkie confirmed. Twilight looked at her friend with slight worry. If Pinkie was telling the truth, then this blue creature must be something new. But there was never any case of a 'blue hedgehog' especially one that can move at such a speed. Or one that could stand on two feet. Or talk.

"Fine, I'll believe you" she looked up at the blue hedgehog with some suspicion. "Who are you? And where are you from?"

"Promise to not bite me in the face?"

"Yes", she replied sincerely. Sonic dropped off the bookshelves and approached the two.

"My name is Sonic the Hedgehog and this might seem crazy, but I'm not from here if you get what I'm saying"

"Define 'not from here' ", questioned Twilight.

"How does 'from another universe entirely' sound?" he replied, almost totally deadpan.

"Yup, that is pretty crazy", Pinkie added. Sonic looked around the room and sighed

"Yeah, it does...” he mumbled under his breath. He scratched his head in confusion, before looking back at Twilight. "So, who are you?"

"My name is Twilight Sparkle. Um, sorry for trying to bite you. I thought you were one of my friends in a costume" She lowered her head slightly in embarrassment. "I must say, you’re an unusual looking hedgehog. Usually hedgehogs are a lot smaller...." She began to circle Sonic cautiously. "...and not, uh, blue. How did you even get here?"

"Well, I could say the same about you guys. I've never met a talking pony that is pink or purple with styled manes. Or one that could talk either for that matter" Sonic walked to the couch and sat down, making himself comfortable. "As for how I got here, I have no idea. the last thing I remember was this big bright light and someone shouting my name. When I woke up, I was here and I met your friend Pinkie moments later. Believe me, this isn't the first time I've traveled through time and space, but it's always by complete mistake. I'm not supposed to be here.", he said, before grinning to himself, "But hey! This place looks kinda fun to hang about" He put his hands behind his head and lay down on the couch.

"Sure, make yourself at home...” Twilight replied sarcastically. At that moment, Spike walked into the house. Everyone turned to look at the baby dragon. He turned to look at the three.

"Hey Twilight. Hey Pinkie. Hey-Um...Twilight....what is that blue spiky thing on the couch?" He said pointing to the blue pincushion. Sonic raised an eyebrow.

"I could ask the same question, what is that thing?” Sonic said pointing toward him.

"That thing is Spike. He's a baby dragon" Twilight said quietly.

"No way, Seriously?!" Sonic leaped up off the couch and went toward Spike. Spike took a few steps back as Sonic lowered himself to Spike's eye level. "Well hey there, uh, Spike! I'm Sonic the Hedgehog. Nice to meet ya" He offered to shake his hand. Spike cautiously shook it.

"Um, hi...You’re a bit big to be a hedgehog are you not?" Spike replied. Twilight couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic. Fluttershy had a similar first meeting with Spike.

"I wouldn't worry, Spike, we asked already. He's from another universe where, I'm guessing all animals look like this." Twilight cut in.

"Well, not all of us, but I know a lot of different people. I know foxes, echidnas, bats, cats and even other hedgehogs" Sonic replied back. Twilight shuddered at the thought of a walking, talking bat.

"Spike take a letter will you? I think the princess needs to know about this. Spike done as ordered and took out a pen and paper.

"Dear Princess Celestia
Among all of the strange things that have happened, I think the strangest may have occurred. Pinkie Pie found a complete stranger running toward Ponyville. Only this stranger is not a pony, unicorn or a pegasus. He is in fact an oversized, blue, talking and incredibly fast hedgehog. His name is Sonic and according to him, he's from a completely different universe to ours. He doesn't seem to be a threat directly, but the idea of other universes and the fact that someone has made it into ours could lead to dire consequences. He doesn't know exactly how he got here and it doesn't seem like this is the work of any of our previous threats, but I wish to hear of your thoughts on this situation.
I wish to hear from you as soon as possible.

Spike rolled out the paper, held it into the air done his usual party-trick. A get of green flame escaped his mouth and consumed the letter. The fire with the letter in tow flew off outside and into the distance. "Sent!"

Sonic remained silent and puzzled during these events. He raised a finger into the air. "Um, I'm sorry, but how did he do that?"

"Magic!" Pinkie replied.

Sonic chuckled at her joke. "Heh, but seriously, how did he do that?"

"Magic. Seriously" Spike replied back.

Sonic remained silent and shook his head slightly. "Ok...Anyway if you guys don't mind, I'm off to explore the area. New world, endless possibilities, you know"

"Wait! I don't think that's a good idea...” Twilight shouted.

"Come on Twilight, it's only a stranger from another universe roaming our town, what's the worst that could happen?" Pinkie said excitedly. "Come on Sonic, I'll show you around!" She bounced out the door.

"Sounds fair" shrugged Sonic as he followed after her. 

"I-Urgh...” It was too late, they were already gone. Twilight looked worriedly at Spike who simply looked startled.

"I wonder if there are more like him in our world..." Twilight questioned quietly.

"Tempting fate like a boss, aren't you?", snarked Spike.
> Arrival (New)

"Ah, my head! S-Sonic?! Are you ok? Where are you?!", she shouted. Waking up in a dazed state, she tilted her head around on the spot, desperately trying to find her comrade. Her vision was blurry and her mind was muddled and confused, but the blue hedgehog was the last thing she saw without question. "Whe-where am I?", she asked herself. She looked around some more, rubbing her eyes. She was stuck in what appeared to be an dark alleyway, with the blue sky barely lighting up the walls. Everything looked different for some reason, but she couldn't say why. She got up off the cold ground and looked beyond the exit. What she saw struck her by surprise. Several 4 legged creatures walked past, not taking notice of the strange female in the alley.

"Are those...ponies?", she asked herself. She took note of them all. Some were big, some were small, but they were the last thing she needed to worry about. She had to find out where on Earth she was.

If she was on Earth that is.

She looked around the area, spotting a large discarded cloak, left against the wall. "Perfect", she whispered, picking up the cloak. It was surprisingly clean, considering the location.

"They could be dangerous for all I know, I need to stay hidden" she said quietly. She threw the cloak over her body, shadowing her face. Now vaguely disguised, she leapt up off the ground and onto the roof of the building next to her in one jump, tiny flames coming off her feet as she jumped. Kneeling on the rooftop, she looked over the edge of the building and too her surprise, nobody spotted her. She kept low as she gazed over the entirety of the town she found herself in. It was colorful and bursting with life. She had to stop herself from letting a soft 'woah' escape her mouth. She quickly made the deduction that she was no longer in her own universe, but another one entirely. Wasn't even Sonic's either.

That's when her memory began to return, only slightly.


"...The Sol Emeralds...he has....I must.........what is that?!...Run! Sonic, run!"


"The emeralds...I have to find them, now! But...where?", she thought to herself. She spotted two ponies chatting with one and other. Hoping to find some clues, she listened in eagerly.

"...urgh, I dunno. It seems that whenever I get the opportunity to go somewhere nice and fancy, my dress sucks. I guess it's one of those things that only look nice once, right?", spoke an aqua pegasus. She was speaking with a faint yellow pony. She couldn't help but be bewildered by the latter pony's mane.

"Have you spoke to Rarity at the boutique? I'm sure she'll help you out. I mean, she got all sort of awesome designs. Maybe she'll fix you up with some gemstones as well!", the other replied.

"Gemstones, huh? Sounds like a safe bet", she thought quietly. She looked around the town from her viewpoint, taking notes of the various buildings that surrounded her. "Now, if I owned a boutique, what would it look like?...", she asked herself. Immediately, she took note of a large, white, extravagant building, with mannequins in the window. She sighed to herself. "You couldn't make it any easier for me, could you?", she noted, "I'll visit you, Rarity, under the cover of night. I'd be too obvious right now", she noted. She sat on the rooftop and silently watched the strange townspeople go by.

"It seems like this is what happens all the time in my life. Questions. Nothing but questions. But of all the things to happen in my life, this is admittedly the strangest. I'm not in my world anymore, that I can tell, but I'm in one like it. For that matter, just what is with all the horses? Well, they're not really horses, they're ponies by the looks of it, do they rule this land? It shouldn't matter, but why can some of them fly? Just what did the doctor do? What happened again? A machine...and then, nothing, I'm here all of a sudden. I wonder what happened to Sonic, or the others. Hmph, it doesn't concern me. All I care about right now is find the Chaos Emeralds and getting out of here"

He looked down from the branch of the tall tree he sat on off to the distance. When he woke up, he was on the edge of a dark forest. It was no more than a couple minutes ago that he woke. He took notice of a collection of buildings where the many ponies walked about and interacted with each other. He had no reason to investigate where he was thoroughly just yet. He looked off to notice some other things. Namely a farm with a huge collection of apple trees. He saw a fairly sized red pony kicking some of the trees. He couldn't clearly see why. Looking back towards the town, he spotted another individual pony in the town. It was pink and was bouncing up and down for no reason. She was clearly happy about something, she wasn't alone either

"Wait...is that?” he questioned. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at the figure alongside the pony. It was blue and unlike the others, it was walking on two feet,  looking all around the town, occasionally turning to talk to the pink pony. "Nah, it can't be. If it was....him, he'd be running around for no reason like he always does. Hm" he looked down to the large blue gem he held in his hand. It was glowing slightly. "If I don't find the 7 Chaos Emeralds, I'll never get back"

He jumped from the tree and landed gracefully on the ground below. He figured anywhere would be better to look than here on the edge of the forest. He looked forward and saw a large collection of various animals in perfect harmony, as if they were playing together. But compared to the large house that had even more animals crowding around it, that was normal. There were animals that he knew perfectly well wouldn't get on well with each other, which made it all the more bizarre when they were all together peacefully. He decided to investigate the structure and skated away at a steady speed. Going past several trees and animals, which could only turn to look at the large creature that sped past by them. He didn't know what to find there, but he might find something.

"YOU WANT TO TRY ME TOUGH GUY?!" boomed a female voice. He skidded to a complete stop and turned toward the source of the voice. The voice sounded like it was going to break, as if it wasn't usually this loud, almost like a really loud whisper. He turned to a large oversized brown bear, staring down a small yellow pony. The pony was surprisingly standing on its two hind legs with the other two in some sort of fighting stance. It had a long pink mane with a matching pink tail and it had large yellow wings. It looked at the bear with determination, though the pony didn't look like it could fend for itself against such a beast. It was like a bee trying to attack a eagle, it just wasn't going to work out.

He sighed as he turned toward the bear and held the blue emerald in his hand. "Urgh, no rest for the wicked..." Putting the emerald away, he stretched his legs and arms, as if preparing for a race. In an instant, the hedgehog blasted toward the bear at breakneck speeds, catch the bears attention for a very brief moment and before it could even think about defending itself, he kicked it with such force that the bear flew far into the distance, roaring all the way, as it vanished into the nearby group of tall trees. The ground shook slightly as the bear hit the ground with an audible thud. The yellow pony looked completely startled, her mouth open wide in shock of what she just saw. Merely seconds ago, she was staring face to face with a great bear. Now she was looking a black and red creature that was still in mid-air after kicking her aggressor away, it fell to the ground in front of her and it was still looking off to where it kicked the bear. She took notice of the creature’s appearance.

It was around her height, but stood on two legs. It was mostly black, yet the strange spikes on the back of its head had streaks of red on them. On its chest was a small tuft of white hair. It had striking red eyes and a very serious expression and it wore white gloves with golden rings on its wrists. She took notice of the metal shoes on its feet. They were yellow, black, red and white, but they didn't look like any other pair of shoes that ever existed. He wasn't smiling and it was like he never did.

"Um...thank you kind sir...but the bear really wasn't-" The creature turned toward the yellow pony. She lowered her head slightly. She was thankful for the stranger's help, but there was something unsettling about him. She felt intimidated. "...much of a problem" she finished her sentence. It just looked at her with a serious expression. "My name is Fluttershy. May I ask what is yours?" She nervously smiled.

The creature simply turned and walked away. Fluttershy went after it. She caught up and walked at its side.

"I'm sorry if I came up as ungrateful sir. I really appreciate the help." She said shyly. It looked at her.

"Hmph, its fine" It replied gruffly.

"What is your name?"

It looked into the distance and continued to walk alongside Fluttershy. "I'm Shadow the Hedgehog and you'd best be careful. I might not be around next time" Fluttershy was puzzled. Did he believe she couldn't take care of herself?

"Shadow, huh?...that's a rather fitting name" she said to the black hedgehog. Shadow said nothing in return. Fluttershy had no idea that Shadow was incredibly anti-social. "I'm sorry if I offend you, but for a hedgehog, you look a little...tall"

"Hm. I wouldn't blame you for saying that. I'm not from your world" Shadow said with blunt honesty. Fluttershy didn't quite know what to say in return. Someone from a different world? Was he dangerous? He stopped and turned toward the yellow pony. "Look, if you want to help me. It's best you leave me be, unless you have seen one of these..." Shadow showed Fluttershy the blue Chaos Emerald. She looked at it in awe. "...then we have nothing more to discuss"

"Wow, what a beautiful gem", she said, examining her refection in the emerald.

"Believe me, It's more important and powerful than it looks. Now If you'll excuse me" Shadow then turned as he walked off.

"Wait!" Fluttershy called. Shadow stopped and turned toward the pegasus. "If you’re just looking for gems, then you should come with me. My friend Rarity might have one like that. She has all kinds of gems. She's a dress maker you see." Fluttershy gave off an innocent smile, she was happy to help a stranger who saved her.

"Hm. Why is it I always get tied up with some random person on my missions. Her information will have to do...." Shadow thought to himself. "Alright, take me to this pony you speak of. It's Fluttershy, right?"

"Yes, but there are some things I need to take care of first. Sorry, but please wait, for a bit." and she turned and walked toward the group of animals. Shadow followed after her, hoping not to stuck waiting for hours. Who knows if there was an emerald with this 'Rarity', but he had nothing else to go on. He joined the pony as the sun began to set.

> Got Places to Go, Ponies to Meet

The sun was setting over Ponyvillie. Faint shadows were cast on the ground by the surrounding building and houses. The water near a large fountain glistened in the golden sunlight's reflection. Ponies were beginning to return to their homes for the night while others remained to enjoy the warm evening. A small outside cafe still had customers, just enjoying the peace and quiet of the sunset. At a small table sat a pink pony and a blue hedgehog. Both enjoying an ice-cream.

"Well Pinkie, I'll admit, this world is pretty peaceful. In comparison to my world, you'd think world peace existed here" Sonic had spent the entire day wondering Ponyvillie with Pinkie Pie. He managed to keep attention off of himself by telling everyone that asked who he was that he was just a pony in a costume. Having an 'alien' in their midst might have caused a massive panic. They visited Sugercube Corner, the Carousel Boutique (though Rarity was absent from there) and several other locations. Pinkie Pie finished off her ice-cream and got off her chair.

"You know, you still haven't met my other friends. Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack" she said happily.

"I'm sure I can see them tomorrow. Right now, I'd like to return to Twilight's house. I'm a little tired", after all, he had been through a lot.

"Oh! And you must meet Rainbow Dash when you get the chance. She'll be very eager to race you by the way" Sonic's ears picked up at this suggestion. A race? He liked a challenge. He wanted to know more about this 'Rainbow Dash'

"Oh really?", Sonic got up off his seat, a sly grin appears on his face. "What's she like?" He leaned against the table next to Pinkie.

"Well, she's very brash and confident in herself. She likes a challenge and adventure", Pinkie raised a hoof to her chin, "She can be a little stubborn at times though, but still she's a great friend!" She lowered her hoof and smiled. "This one time, she flew so fast she caused a Sonic Rainboom! Imagine a rainbow blasting across the sky. THAT is a Sonic Rainboom", she proclaimed.

Sonic chuckled and finished his ice-cream. He liked the term 'Sonic Rainboom'. "Well, I will just have to meet this 'Rainbow Dash at some point then, wont I? I'll see just how fast she is!" Pinkie giggled. She was already excited about the inevitable meeting between Rainbow and her new friend. "Well, I suppose I should return to Twilight's then. I'll see ya tomorrow, Pinkie."

"G'night!", Pinkie shouted excitedly, and she bounced away. Sonic had a fair idea where Twilight lived and decided to show off a little. With a grin, Sonic done a quick stretch and, without warning, boosted right past Pinkie Pie, living a streak of blue behind him.The raw force of his speed blew some nearby flowers away. Like before, Pinkie's mane straightened completely. It flopped down as she stared with amazement at the blue blur that just past her. She smiled as she cheered for Sonic. "Woo! Tomorrow is gonna be fun!!" she gleefully bounced home, and her hair once again poofed back to normal.

Pinkie Pie was very happy, happier than usual. She met someone new and was already good friends with him, and knew there was possibly going to be an epic race the next day. The sun disappeared behind the hills as the stars of the night glistened in the sky, the fine work of a twin princess Pinkie caught sight of another one of her best friends. A white pony with a curled purple mane. Rarity was obviously just returning to her house, but Pinkie was not going to pass up this opportunity to say hi. Her own way of saying hi that is.

She slowed her bounce to a steady crawl as she moved silently behind Rarity, making as little noise as possible. She quickened her step, all the while remaining as silent as the night. She was now right behind her. She raised her arms into the air, brandishing a grin.. She suddenly put her hooves on Rarity's back and and whispered, "Hi." Rarity stopped dead in her tracks. For a brief second, it was as if she didn't react before yelping in terror. Pinkie Pie erupted into laughter and began to roll around on the ground, giggling. Rarity turned to her aggressor to see her friend in a fit of tearful laughter. Her face of pure horror turned to a look of slight irritation.

"I got you!" Pinkie cried happily, still giggling.

"Yes you did. Very good Pinkie Pie", she remarked, slightly deadpan. "I haven't seen you all day. Where have you been?" Rarity asked

"Oh! I have been giving the grand tour of Ponyvillie to a guest!" She stood up from the floor. Rarity raised a brow.

"A guest? Who is new in town?"

"Oh...Um...just a hedgehog.." Pinkie awkwardly smiled. Rarity lowered her brows in disbelief.

"...You gave a small hedgehog a tour of our town....really?", she asked. Pinkie smiled nervously. "Well I'm not completely surprised if I'm honest, but whatever pleases you I suppose. I hope your spiny friend enjoyed himself", she looked off to the side and played with her hair. Pinkie Pie continued to grin, trying not to give away that the 'hedgehog' was a little bigger that she thought. Much bigger. "Well, if you excuse me Pinkie, I'm off home. I'm very tired. I'll see you tomorrow", Rarity waved and walked off home. Pinkie let out a sigh of relief. She walked off home. She assumed Sonic got to Twilight's with ease. Even if he didn't find it at first, she knew it wouldn't take him long since he ran so fast. The moon began to rise over the horizon, lighting up the landscape a little.

"I'm sorry that I don't have any spare beds around. Will the couch be ok?, Twilight asked Sonic. He stretched his arms and scratched his spikes.

"Sure thing!", he hopped on the couch and landed on his back. He stretched his legs and arms before folding them behind his head. "Ah...perfect" he sighed happily.

"Well, as long as you’re comfortable I suppose", she began to walk off to her own bed before stopping. She turned to Sonic,"Hey..Sonic?" Sonic turned to face the pony. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, fire away" Sonic said with a grin.

"What's it like in your world?"

Sonic turned to face the roof. "Well, it's bright and colorful. Just like this one. Where I spent my childhood was particularly beautiful. Checkered and striped green hills, clear blue rivers and large yellow flowers. I've been many places" he said. Twilight got up onto her bed and sat attentively as Sonic reminisced. "Emerald Coast is this big beach with plenty of little caves and wildlife. Speedy Highway is this massive road that stretches across a city. I've met many interesting people as well. My best friend is a yellow fox with two tails. He's called Tails funnily enough and he's probably the smartest guy I know, he's very good at inventing. Another one of my friends-well a rival to be more precise- is a hedgehog who looks a little like me. He's black and red and is waaaay to serious, but he's fun to fight with. His name is Shadow" Twilight stared at him, giving him his complete attention. 

"And then there is my friend Silver, he's from the future!", Twilight smiled in excitement at just what this hedgehog has done in his life. "He's also a bit serious, but he's a nice guy. Bit naive at times but still, you can trust him. And then there's Blaze, uh, she's a bit like me in terms of what she can do, but she believes she can do everything herself. We have saved the world twice as well. Oh, and she control fire", Sonic stared up at the ceiling and sighed happily. Not many have such a life as him. Twilight smiled at his stories.

"Your friends sound fun to be around, well maybe not the 'Shadow' one but still"

"I wonder what Shadow's up to just now...", Sonic wondered aloud, "Probably moping" He shrugged. Twilight giggled slightly.

"Well, you just get some sleep Sonic. I'm sure you'll be busy somehow tomorrow"

"Heh, you bet", he replied.

"Well, goodnight Sonic" said Twilight as she turned again.

"Night"

Twilight curled up into her bed and turned out the light. Sonic remained awake for a while, lost in his thoughts. Just how was he going to get home? And was he alone in this world? He put his thoughts to rest and drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile, Fluttershy was finishing sending all her animals to their homes for the night, making sure they were all safe and sound. Not too far off was a very irritated black hedgehog that stood there, arms closed. These 'things' Fluttershy had to take care of turned out to be chores to Shadow. He was nowhere closer to finding a Chaos Emerald. Fluttershy turned to the hedgehog and her expression worried as she remembered what she said she'd do for him.

"I'm...I'm sorry Mr. Shadow, sir. I forgot about the gem you were after. I got so caught up and...it's getting late" Shadow just stared. If it was anyone else, Shadow would have left hours ago, but there was something about this pony that stopped him.

"Hmph, tomorrow, you take me to this friend of yours first thing in the morning. Don't disappoint me" He growled with frustration. Fluttershy took a step back a squeaked a little in fear. Shadow just stared as he observed the pony’s reaction. He put his head in his hand and sighed. "Look, I just really need to find these emeralds...ok?" Fluttershy looked up and nodded slightly. She smiled at the hedgehog's vague apology.

"Ok. But I won't let you sleep out in the cold. I'll find you a place to sleep in my house", and Fluttershy walked past Shadow with confidence. He said nothing for a few seconds before muttering.

"..Thank you"

The moon shined brightly over Ponyville. The soft moonlight casting a faint light on the town. There was nobody outside, everyone as at their homes, sound asleep. The library was dead silent, the only noises being the faint snores of Spike and Sonic. The farm was also quiet with the many trees blowing slightly in the soft wind and the farmhouse sat quietly with its occupants asleep. Fluttershy's house was also quiet. The many animals all sound asleep in the trees, in the ground, in wherever they were. Fluttershy and Shadow were both sleeping, with Shadow sleeping in a spare bed that was lying around. Even while sleeping his expression was rather serious with his arms crossed, while Fluttershy was peaceful in hers.

Just like every other house, Rarity's house was quiet with not a sound to be heard. She was sound asleep with a smile, her room with various designs and sketches lying around, However, there was a lone figure standing near her house. She looked around the area, to make sure she wasn't spotted, but it was a dead area, alone in the darkness. She moved up to the door and knocked swiftly. Inside, the knocking sounded much louder. Rarity stirred and moved in her bed. In an attempt to block out the noise, she grabbed her pillow and covered her head with it, but to no avail. She growled as she got out of her bed, eyes slightly bloodshot and walked downstairs. The knocking continued, which only made Rarity more irritated.

"Who is wanting to see me at this hour?!", she snarled to herself. "What do you want at this hour?!?!", with her teeth gritting together in pure frustration. Every pony needs its beauty sleep and Rarity was not getting her's, which only made her more and more irritated. Her anger cooled however as she saw what was standing at the door way.

It was a lone figure, she couldn't see what it was at all. The figure stood covered by a large cloak, its eyes covered by the shadow of the cloak over its head. Its legs were slightly visible. They were white from what Rarity could see. Its shoes could be seen clearly, it wore tall high heels. They were pink and white with white fluffy cuffs. It's mouth could be seen. It wasn't smiling though, it seemed rather serious.

"Sorry for disturbing your sleep Miss Rarity", the voice was female.

"Who... Who are you? How do you know my name?", Rarity took a step back.

"I overheard you’re the one to come to when looking for some gems, is that correct?", she was rather calm and collected.

"I might have a few gems just lying around, yes. Why do you ask?" Rarity inquired.

"Maybe you can help me...may I come in?", she asked. 

"Could you come back in the morning, dear? If you can't tell, it's past my bedtime", Rairty explained, but the stranger did not want to leave.

"It's urgent I'm afraid. Please"

Rarity pondered whether to let this complete stranger into her house.  Hesitating, she stepped aside and allowed the female into her house. She stepped inside as Rarity closed the door quietly. The female smiled at her kindness.

"Thank you. I'm sorry or this inconvenience, but I could not wait till tomorrow." Rarity smiled slightly.

"It's fine. I guess. Follow me to where I keep my gems." Rarity walked off as the cloaked girl followed behind her. Rarity felt rather uncomfortable about this, letting a clocked stranger into her home. It could be a spy, stealing her designs, or worse! "May I ask, what is your name?" The girl looked uncomfortable as this.

"I'd rather keep myself unknown. I apologize", she replied. Rarity rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Oh well never mind. The gems are just through here." The silence of the night was slightly disturbed by the two walking side by side. They entered a dark room. Rarity flipped a small switch and the room lit up instantly. She looked at the stranger to see if the light would give anything else away. The girl had large eyes, but that's all she could see. Rarity walked over to a large chest on the ground. The stranger stood at the doorway and observed her surroundings. She turned to see the white pony opening the large chest, which glowed as it opened. She walked over to join the pony at her side.

She looked down to see miscellaneous gems. Big ones, small one, some as big as a pony's head. But one stood out among the rest. The stranger gasped at the sight of it and Rarity turned to her, rather defensively. The gem was a large yellow rectangular gem. It glowed more than the others, as if it was special. The cloaked stranger reached to grab the gem, only to be stopped by a white hoof.

"And what do you think you’re doing?", she remarked accusingly, "I found that gem today. Kept it a secret from everyone. It's such a beautiful gem and I'm thinking of using it for a dress I'm working on, now if you're hear to simply steal my gems, you are obviously not the greatest thief, now are you?" Rarity could see the stranger's eyes narrow. Her teeth were showing, displaying what appeared to be sharp fangs. Rarity was slightly frightened by this, but remained defiant. "I'm sorry but that's not for taking"

The stranger sighed. "Fine, I'll play your little game", she pulled out a similar gem, her hand being a white glove with a fluffy cuff on her wrist. It didn't quite glow like the other one, but it still looked beautiful. "That gem you have there is more important than you can imagine. Come to think of it, it's not a mere 'gem' either, but that's not important. Here is a replica. I will happily give it to you in exchange for that one." Rarity pondered. It was a very rare looking gem she had, yet the one that was being offered to her was almost as good. She was feeling generous.

"Hmph. Fine take the gem", She handed the glowing emerald to the stranger and got the replica in return.

"Thank you for your generosity", the stranger smiled, "I'll be going now." The stranger walked out of the room and went for the door. Rarity followed, stopping as the stranger walked out of the door.

"Who are you?"

She turned to face the confused pony and smiled. "Who I am is not important, but you have helped me so much Miss Rarity. Farewell", the stranger closed the door, leaving the pony alone in a dark hallway. She sighed to herself.

"Urgh! I'm off to bed again!", she slumped and walked off.

The stranger walked alone in the sleeping town, gazing into the gem. "It's a start. Now, to find somewhere to hide", she said, walking into the darkness.

Equestria is a natural world. The landscape is green, clear and otherwise beautiful. The forests are dense and full of animals and plant-life and the mountains tower high above the world. The most unique features of the world are the towns and cities that exist, such as Ponyvillie and Canterlot. Nestled in the more hidden areas of the landscape, far from Ponyvillie, was something unique. Something dark and different, casting a massive shadow on the landscape as the morning sun began to rise of the horizon.

What appeared to be a half of a dark, metallic factory sat in the otherwise idealistic landscape, acting as an eyesore. The wreckage had pillars of smoke billowing up from burning structures within the factory, as if it had been torn in two separate pieces. The area wasn't desolate, but it wasn't full of life either. Metallic contraptions few around the wreckage, putting out fires and removing debris, but some of the robots themselves looked like they should be among the scrap metal on the ground themselves. Inside the factory wasn't much better. Rooms were cracked and split with miscellaneous items on the floor. Screws, tools, destroyed mechas. The assembly line was left in pieces with all the robotic arms and tools scattered around the room.

However, one place remained intact. Inside were several large containers with several amazing contraptions. In one was a spherical flying machine, designed for a large individual. In another was an old and rather rusty silver robot with a blunt looking buzzsaw attached to the back of it's head. The tube was labeled "Silver Sonic" The now inactive eyes of the machine were cracked, being preserved for unknown reasons. Perhaps nostalgia.

However, in one tube was a robot in near perfect condition. It was sleek and well-made. Painted in a dark blue with a reactor in it's chest, powered down, but clearly ready for use. It's arms and legs were thin, yet strong looking, the hands looking more like claws. At that moment, the room lit up, as the blast doors of the room opened up. A man stood in the doorway, hunched over slightly, as if he was dazed and confused. He coughed loudly as he stumbled towards the flying vessel.

"Begin pre-flight checks and repairs!", he yelled aloud. Several large screen lit up around the tube as it opened, many flashing red indicating damage. 

"Eggmobile in unsutable condition. Beginning repairs", a monotone voice replied. Many arms appeared from the wall, tending to the machine, making repairs and refueling it. The man waddled over to the tube containing the blue robot and grinned widely.

"Activate SCD:1997, codename "Metal Sonic" for scouting. Find any signs of life and 'introduce' them to the Eggman empire!", he proclaimed. The tube opened and the robot immediately came to life with sharp red eyes. They reflected on the glasses of the mad man who created it. The reactor in it's chest spun up and the robot shot up into the ceiling and burst through to the outside. It hovered directly in front of the sun, casting it's image on the world below. It rotated it's head in all directions, looking for a place of interest. Making a mechanical gargle, the machine flew off into the distance, searching for life.

Back in the room, the man looked back to his flying vessel. Many of the information screens lit up green as the machine was being fixed. The man began to cackle madly as he announced skyward;

"Look out, Equestria! Your new ruler will soon begin his coronation tour!", he announced.

"Eggmobile repair ET is 10 hours", the monotone voice replied.

"Don't ruin the moment", he replied.

The sun rose once again over Ponyville. The sun's brightness lighting up the whole area with shadows being stretched over the landscape. Over by the farm, a lone rooster called out, signalling the morning to the still sleeping ponies, the sun shining on the apple trees. Shops were opening and some ponies were already roaming Ponyville, browsing the opening shops or just talking to each other. In the library, the sun shone through the windows and on to the sleeping Twilight. Her eyes slowly opened to the sunlight, unfocused and dazed. She sat up and stretched her arms with a loud yawn. As she scratched her eyes she looked to her right to expect to see a still-sleeping Spike in the smaller bed next to hers. However, the bed was vacant. She got out of bed, stretching her legs in the process. She looked down to the floor below, her attention fixated on the also empty sofa. Not a blue hedgehog in sight. She went down the floor below and looked around. Sonic or Spike were nowhere to be seen, but she missed an obvious clue. The door was open.

"Spike? Sonic? Any of you around?" she called out, looking outside.

"Over here Twilight!” Spike replied, waving his arms in his direction. Twilight walked over to where Spike was standing, the air was warm and pleasant. Spike was overlooking a far mountain with surrounding hills. "Morning Twilight, sleep well?” he asked. It was almost like there wasn't a strange hedgehog walking around town.

"Uh yeah, great", she replied looking off to the distance. "Hey, where's Sonic?” Spike replied by simply pointing in the direction of the mountain. Twilight narrowed her eyes, trying to see him. Suddenly, a large trail of dust sped down the mountaintop. At first it looked like a rock slide, by the trail went down the mountain at such speed it was unlikely. The trail hit the bottom before travelling over the distance hilltops, clearing them as if they were nothing. A blue figure was visible as it blasted over them and past trees, leaves being ripped from the branches. The speedy hedgehog made a beeline for the library. Spotting this, Twilight and Spike took a few steps back.  As Sonic reached the library, he fixed the heels of his feet into the ground as he screeched to a halt, a faint cloud of dust stopping behind him, with massive tracks being left in the dirt. Spike clapped excitedly and Twilight smiled in amazement.

"Wow Sonic, that's incredible! You could give Rainbow Dash a run for her money!” she exclaimed happily, "I mean that has to be some kind of record. Though speed records for hedgehogs around here are not going to be hard to beat", she giggled. Sonic winked and waggled a finger.

"Well, I'm not called the fastest thing alive for nothing!", he chirped, almost smugly. Your friend Pinkie told me about this Rainbow Dash character. She said I should race her or something", Sonic said with confidence. Spike lit up with excitement.

"You’re going to race Rainbow Dash?! That will be aweso-" before he could finished, he belched. Green flames erupted from his mouth and a letter appeared out of nowhere. Spike nonchalantly caught it and opened it. Sonic flinched back.

"That's....disgusting", he said nervously. Twilight rolled her eyes.

"Relax, he does it all the time", she reassured him with a smile.

"Are you sure that's healthy?!"

"Probably. Anyway, what does the letter say Spike?” she asked. Sonic shook his head in a mixture of disgust and confusion. Spike unravelled the letter and cleared his throat.

"My dearest and most faithful student, Twilight
I would like to know if you had been drinking too much of Applejack's cider, because that sounds like something a little too unreal. However, the idea of alternate universes are not new to me, but they are very mysterious. If this Sonic the Hedgehog is a real being, then I'd like to meet him personally.  We could learn so much from him, though I would like to stress for you to not worry about dangers just yet. If there are, then they will be dealt with.
If this is the result of cider, then please lay off it for a while. I think you've had enough. I'll be round to visit you soon.

"I think the Princess is sceptical about Sonic's existence", said Spike. Twilight lowered her head slightly.

"You don't say? She thinks he's a drunken vision for crying out loud” she replied sarcastically. Sonic scratched his head.

"Hmm, well I guess I have some time to properly have fun and most importantly, race", Sonic grinned as he looked over to the town.

The sun shined brightly over Fluttershy's house. The many animals scurried out of their homes and wandered the surroundings. Birds sang songs to each other as the area came to life with wildlife, it was like something from a fairy tale. Despite the noise, a sleeping hedgehog remained undisturbed, his expression less serious than earlier. A small yellow pony approached him and shook him gently with her hoof.

"Hey...Mr. Shadow, wake up please", Fluttershy said quietly. Shadow groaned and turned away from her. Fluttershy shook him again, this time with two hooves. "Come on, you want to go to Rarity, right?” Shadow moaned again and turned back round, his eyes half open"

"Urgh, what-what's your name again?” Shadow sounded dazed.

"Fluttershy, sleep well?” Shadow got up and stretched. He bent his back backwards and cracked it. He sighed.

"Exceptionally well surprisingly enough", he replied. Fluttershy smiled.

"That's great to hear. It's morning and Rarity should be awake by now if you want to go see her." Shadow cracked his knuckles and stretched other parts of his body.

"Yeah, sure, whatever", he said, still in a dazed state. Fluttershy rolled her eyes and walked off.

"Ok, Mr. Sleepyhog, we'll be leaving shortly", she said half giggling, walking towards the door. Shadow just stared at her.

"Sleepyhog? Really? Urgh, I need to get back to my world", he thought to himself, "Though this pony has been very nice to me. I suppose it's thanks to her I'm getting some sort of lead to finding the emeralds. Hm, live and learn I guess", Shadow got off his bed and walked after Fluttershy.

"Oh! You got out of bed? Great, you ready to go?” Fluttershy asked. Shadow's expression became serious again and crossed his arms. He nodded in reply. "Ok, but we have to get there fast, the district will be busy and-", she stopped when she caught a glimpse of the grinning black hedgehog.

"Have to go fast you say? Heh, leave that to me", Shadow walked past Fluttershy out of the house. He looked into the distance and at the large town that stood before him. Fluttershy joined him outside. Shadow pulled out the blue emerald and it started to glow. "You ready to go faster than ever before?” he asked. Fluttershy nodded nervously. She didn't know what was about to happen. Shadow reached out an open hand, prompting Fluttershy to hold on. Shadow shut his eyes as the emerald glowed brighter still. Fluttershy closed her eyes in fear.

"CHAOS! CONTROL!" and with that, Shadow and Fluttershy disappeared instantaneously in a flash of light. Some animals gathered where the two left and looked around to find them. They didn't know that they were already in Ponyville.

"Twilight! How are you this fine morning?” Rarity rushed over to her and the blue hedgehog. Sonic was busy waving nervously at staring ponies to notice. "...and what is that?!” pointing to the blue blur.

"Oh Rarity, you haven't met Sonic have you? Sonic?” she turned to get his attention. Sonic turned to greet the shocked white unicorn. He smiled awkwardly. Twilight stood between the two. "Rarity, meet Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic, meet Rarity. She owns the Carousel Boutique in town", she was trying to keep the awkwardness between the two to a minimum.

It wasn't working.

"A, uh, hedgehog, eh? Well, you are certainly a unique one!” Rarity smiled.

"Thanks, I guess. So what do you do exactly at a 'Boutique'?" he asked. Twilight wasn't listening; she was too busy gazing at 2 figures that stood out from the rest. She spotted her friend Fluttershy; she looked dazed as if she'd been on a roller-coaster 5 times in a row. But with her was something else. She narrowed her eyes to look at the black figure walking with her, it looked a little like Sonic, but certainly someone else. She was so busy; she failed to notice Sonic and Rarity trying to get her attention.

"Twilight...TWILIGHT!", Rarity shouted. Rarity shook her head and turned to her friend. "I was just saying how I got a rude awaking last night"

"Uh, you did? What happened?"

"Well, I was sound asleep, enjoying the peace and quiet, when suddenly this knocking came at the door. So I went downstairs and there was this girl standing there. She stood on two legs, like your friend Sonic. She asked if I had a specific gem and I happened to have it. She was very unusual, never got a good look at her face, she was wearing some kind of weird cloak”, she continued. Sonic was very attentive during this revelation.

"Rarity, what kind of gem was this girl looking for?” Sonic asked.

"Oh, just a regular gem, but this one glowed! It was marvelous! She gave me a replica in return, which is ok I guess, but she seemed very desperate for it"

"What was her name?” Sonic was very curious now.

"I asked her 3 times and she never told me. Terrible manners if you ask me, not a social one I guess. Well I must be off, I need to get to the Carousel Boutique right now and use that gem. See you later Twilight and good to meet you, Sonic", and with that, Rarity walked off with a smile. Sonic's face was now serious, the 'girl' sounded familiar. Twilight just looked at him, slightly concerned.

"Sonic are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm uh, fine....”, his expression serious.

Rarity walked up to the boutique to find Fluttershy and a random stranger waiting for her.

"Hi Rarity, we need a favor to ask, or rather my friend Mr. Shadow needs a favor", Fluttershy said quietly. Rarity just stared at the hedgehog.

"Fluttershy, who is this?"

"Oh, this is Shadow the Hedgehog. He is looking for an emerald", she said, as if it was a totally normal sentence.

"Yes, they are vital to me right now", he added. Rarity rolled her eyes and groaned.

"Another person after my gems? Ugh, as if I didn't have enough people already. Fine, what does it look like?” Rarity moaned. Shadow pulled out the Chaos Emerald. Rarity stared at in awe. "Why, it's simply dazzling! It’s better than that other gem I had! But I don't have gem like that one, sorry", she admitted. Shadow looked at Fluttershy in disappointment, who nervously grinned in return.

"Hm, I knew this was a waste of time", Shadow growled as he went to walk away, Fluttershy turned towards him to try and stop him, but the words did not come out.

"My, what's with all the oversized hedgehogs around here?” Rarity said to Fluttershy. Shadow immediately stopped in his place and turned, his expression a mixture of shock and his classic seriousness.

"What did you say?!"

"Well, there is you of course and then there's that blue hedgehog wandering around with Twilight. What's his name again, Sonic! That's it.", she said happily. Shadow was shocked at what he was hearing.

"You mean there are other hedgehogs?” asked Fluttershy

"Yes, go find Twilight, she replied.

"Where can we find this 'Twilight'?!” he demanded, fists clenched. The two ponies stared at him before Fluttershy eventually spoke.

"Come with me, we'll find her soon enough. Thanks anyway Rarity. Come on Shadow.", and Fluttershy walked off. Shadow groaned angrily, but still followed. Rarity waved goodbye with a blank expression before returning inside.

"What is up with this town today?", she quipped.

"I can't believe this. I'm nowhere closer to finding the Chaos Emeralds and to make matters worse, Sonic is here as well. What did Eggman do?! Did he transport us to this dimension on purpose? Hm, questions. That's all my life appears to be full of", Shadow thought to himself. Fluttershy turned gave Shadow a gentle smile.

"I'm sorry we couldn't find your emerald, but maybe they are around somewhere else?” she said. Shadow said nothing and continued to walk in silence, he wasn't in the mood for talking. On top of one the buildings out of sight was the hooded girl. She knelt on one of the roofs, making sure to stay hidden as she watched over the ponies. In her hand was the glowing yellow emerald. The sun lit up her partially shaded face, her eyes gazing over the town, as if she was looking for something.

Or someone.

As she looked over, her eyes stopped and fixated on something. Her mouth opened in shock.

"I found you after all...” she muttered silently. With that, she stealthy leaped of the roof and landed gracefully on the ground. With a deep breath, she entered the crowds of ponies. The crowds turned to look at the strange girl walking among them, but said nothing directly to her. She didn't care for their stares. She saw where she wanted to go. One thing that did catch her eye was a rainbow trail speeding across the sky.

"Look! Up there!” Twilight pointed to the sky, "Hey! Rainbow Dash!! Down here!” she waved up the flying cyan pony. It looked down with a grin and sped down toward the purple pony and blue hedgehog that had their heads aimed at the sky. Rainbow slowed her decent and landed safely on the ground as her wings tucked into her sides with a triumphant stance.

"Hey Twi! Who's this guy?” she said pointing at Sonic.

"This is Sonic the Hedgehog, the fastest hedgehog I've ever seen. Sonic, meet Rainbow Dash, the fastest pony in Equestria", she introduced them to each other. The two stared at each other. Rainbow Dash couldn't help but raise an eye-brow.

"So you’re a speedy hedgehog? Never seen one like you", she said with a grin.

"I could say the same about you", he replied. "Fastest pony? It's something I haven't heard all that often. I've heard some things about you, maybe I could interest you in a race?"

Rainbow grinned menacingly. "You think you can take me on newbie?", she taunted. Sonic grinned.

"I'm no newbie, bring it!"

"You're on, big blue!", pointing at him with a hoof. Suddenly, a familiar pink pony burst out of nowhere with confetti.

"YAY! WE HAVE A RACE PLANNED!!” Pinkie yelled. Sonic and Dash jumped and just stared uncertainly at Pinkie. She suddenly pulled out a massive microphone and blared into the air for everyone to hear.

"ATTENTION CITIZENS OF PONYVILLE. WE HAVE A RACE ABOUT TO BEGIN!!", several ponies gathered round to gaze in wonder and confusion at the two, more staring at Sonic. For obvious reasons. Further away, Shadow and Fluttershy stopped to pay attention to the announcement. "THE TWO RACERS ARE...RAINBOW DASH THE FASTEST PONY IN EQUESTRIA AND MAKER OF THE SONIC RAINBOOM!!", Pinkie continued to shout. The hooded girl even stopped to listen.

"...and who else?” she muttered quietly.

AND OUR NEW CHALLENGER. HE'S NEW IN TOWN AND LOOKING TO MAKE A NAME OF HIMSELF, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, THE FASTEST HEDGEHOG IN EQUESTRIA AS WE KNOW IT!!"

Shadow rolled his eyes at the description. Fluttershy was just as excited as the rest of the ponies but in her own reserved way. Under her cloak, the girl grinned.

"Of course it is...", she mumbled.

As Twilight looked on, she was joined by two other ponies. Rarity had returned from her work, still wearing her glasses. Along with her was an orange pony wearing a large hat with a yellow mane. Applejack had stopped working to come investigate.

"What’s all the racket about?” she asked Twilight.

"Oh, Hey you two. Rainbow Dash and Sonic are gonna race!” she replied happily.

"Who in tarnation is Sonic?"

"Oh, you must be the only pony expect Fluttershy not to meet Sonic. He's the fastest hedgehog ever"

Applejack raised a brow, "That blue feller right there? He doesn't look like a hedgehog"

Twilight sighed, "I know..."

Applejack said nothing more as she stared at the hedgehog and pony. They were left in a circle together, surrounded by ponies, all cheering and staring. "So, where should we race?” Sonic asked while crossing his arms. Rainbow Dash looked at him. Pinkie butted in to answer the question aloud.

"THE RACE WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE COURSE OF THE RUNNING OF THE LEAVES!!", she again announced. Applejack stepped forward.

"It's summer", she announced deadpan.

"I. DON'T. CARE!", she exclaimed. "EVERYONE FOLLOW APPLEJACK TO THE STARTING LINE! I HAVE BALLOON TO CATCH!", and Pinkie dashed off. Applejack rolled her eyes and led the ponies to the starting line, Sonic and Rainbow Dash included. Among the crowd was Shadow and Fluttershy who followed everyone else to the starting line. Fluttershy looked at Shadow.

"Are you going to talk to him right now?" she asked. Shadow looked at her.

"Later, let him race for now...", he calmed responded.

The hooded girl was not among the crowd, she was jumping rooftops in order to catch up to the competitors.

"Hmph! I can't just run up to him right now. I'll need to wait. But this race should be interesting. Sonic the Hedgehog, do not disappoint", she thought to herself.

The ponies had all gathered near a fountain outside Ponyville, the trees stood tall with bright green leaves. Usually they were red, orange and yellow during this race. Sonic and Rainbow stood side by side at the starting line. In the air was a hot air balloon, in it was Pinkie Pie and Spike, ready to provide commentary on the race.

"Welcome to the...rather sudden race everyone. Please make sure you are not too close to the track as these two will be going at some speed", said Spike through a microphone. "Seriously. Stand back."

"The race will be 5 laps of the regular course for the Running of the Leaves, due to the sheer speed of these two opponents!", Pinkie was commenting with her microphone.

On the ground, every pony was watching, among them were Shadow and Fluttershy. Nearby was the hooded girl, watching from a nearby tree. Ponies were cheering for both racers. Rainbow saluted everyone happily, Sonic was showing off, performing a spin-dash before doing his famous finger waggle. They looked at each other with fierce competitiveness as the two got ready to go.

Twilight walked in front of the two.

"Ok you two, no dirty tricks and no mid-race fighting. Understood?", she said. The racers nodded.

"Do I need to be on my feet for this?", Rainbow Dash asked.

"Nope. I want to race you at your best", Sonic replied.

"No Sonic Rainbooms though. It's wreck the down at this level", Twilight warned. Satisfied, she walked off and gave a signal to Spike.

"THE RACE BEGINS IN 3...2...1...

...GO!!!"

In the blink of an eye, Rainbow Dash and Sonic blasted off the starting line. Rainbow left behind an aura of colour behind her, while Sonic's boost caused a shockwave of wind to hit the trees, an explosion sounding off into the distance. The crowd of ponies were blasted back by the sheer force of the combined sonic booms. Those who managed to stay rooted to the ground all stared in amazement at the speed of the two, the exceptions being Shadow who simply looked off into the distance and the hooded girl, who just watched from a tree. The wind caused by the sonic boom hit the trees, blowing off some leaves. The wind caused her hood to fall off; she shielded her eyes from the sun. After having the hood shadowing her eyes the whole time, she was not used to the sunlight. She narrowed her yellow eyes as she put her hood back up. She looked up at the hot-air balloon in the sky and the 2 commentators looking over the course.

"And they're off! That has to be the fastest start to a race in history!", Spike announced happily. He looked over to Pinkie Pie, looking down from the balloon.

"I know! They are going at supersonic speeds!", she replied excitedly.

"They sure are! This race will be over quick-", he replied back, before being cut off by Pinkie.

"Oh! They're racing! They're going at supersonic speeds! One of the racers is Sonic....They're supersonic racing!", Pinkie cried out through the microphone for all the ponies to hear. Spike looked at her, with a raised brow.

"Um...yeah, sure-"

"I should write a song about it!"

"Yea, that's plenty Pinkie"

As Pinkie continued to hum, Spike rolled his eyes and raised a hand to his face. He continued to look down at the two racers, who were darting around the course at breakneck speeds. Sonic was running fast enough that a blue aura formed around him, breaking the sound barrier as if it was nothing. Rainbow was flying next to him, a similar aura forming around her, rainbow colored.

"You run pretty fast! For a hedgehog!", Rainbow taunted. Sonic grinned and looked at her.

"I could say the same about you! You could give Tails some pointers!", he replied. "Heh, try to keep up!" and he blasted forward even more. Rainbow smiled and followed on.

"Hey, do you think that's the Sonic that Rarity mentioned?", Fluttershy asked Shadow. He simply closed his eyes.

"I know that's Sonic..."

"How?"

"He's from my world", he said sternly. Fluttershy lowered her head.

"Oh...I should have seen that, sorry....", she said quietly. Shadow opened his eyes again and looked at her.

"Hmph, it's fine, really", he said calmly. Fluttershy looked up and smiled. Shadow felt more optimistic around the yellow pegasus. He looked up as he felt a strong, unnatural wind. Before he could figure out what it was, Sonic and Rainbow Dash blasted past the crowd of ponies, leaving behind a strong gust of wind. The ponies cheered, some cheering for Rainbow Dash, others cheering for Sonic. As the wind hit the trees, the hooded figure held her hood in her hand. It fluttered, blowing cool air into the hood and through her hair.

"Come on, Sonic, you know you can do this", she muttered quietly.

"And that's a lap done! 4 to go!", Pinkie announced from the sky.

Twilight had moved to a hill to get a good, quiet view of the race. She sat attentively as she admired the trails of colour that shot around the area. If she had brought a good book to read, she'd be in the best mood imaginable. 

"Enjoying the race, Twilight?", asked an elegant voice. Her peace was interrupted by the soft footsteps of another pony. She turned to see her teacher and friend. Princess Celestia. She gasped and got up with a smile.

"Princess! I didn't expect you so soon", she said excitedly. Celestia smiled at her student, her mane flowing as usual.

"Well, you say you saw a new creature, naturally I was curious. Sorry I couldn't come right away, I had things to take care of. So...", she looked up towards the race, just as Sonic and Rainbow Dash completed yet another lap, to the cheering of the surrounding ponies. The princess couldn't help but smile. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say the one running is this hedgehog you mentioned"

"Yep. Call yourself the fastest hedgehog and Rainbow Dash will want to see how fast you are"

"If what he said about being in another world is true, then your task to help him with getting back to his world. If that's not possible, then find out why. Maybe you can ask about other things that exist where he comes from. You could learn much from someone new. I think you know that better than anyone. However, be careful Twilight", she warned.

"What's the matter? Sonic is harmless"

"He is, but anyone from his world may not be, something hasn't been feeling right since yesterday. I will be back later, after that I leave this up to you Twilight. Farewell" and in a bright light, she was gone. Twilight stood there, bemused by what happened and contemplated her vague advice. She decided to turn to the race once more.

Time passed as 2 more laps were completed. Dust and dirt clouds faintly floated in the air, kicked up by the frantic racing. Rainbow Dash and Sonic were neck and neck, both seemingly giving it their all. During the final stretch, Rainbow turned to Sonic.

"See if you can keep up with this!", she shouted as the cone forming around her grew stronger, forming the beginning of a Sonic Rainboom.

"Oh no you don't!", he shouted, as his speed doubled instantaneously, giving himself on final effort. He caught up to Rainbow, but didn't manage to pass her. Ponies were eagerly watching the race come to its speedy conclusion.

"AND HERE THEY COME NOW!!!", Pinkie yelled down the microphone, some feedback sounding off as well. "AND THE WINNER IS!...."

Sonic and Rainbow boosted past the finish line in the blink of an eye. Sonic dug his feet hard into the dirt trying to stop. Dirt spat high into the air in front of him as he screeched to a halt, the cone around him disappearing. Rainbow gracefully stopped as she landed on the ground. Ponies crowded around them, all chanting their names, until one broke the commotion.

"Who won?", asked Applejack. "Ya'll went so fast we couldn't see" Rainbow grinned, chuckling lightly.

"Well, clearly I won", boasted Rainbow with a smile. Her triumph was interrupted by Sonic.

"You’re kidding right? I won that one", he replied.

"No you didn't!"

"Yes I did!"

"I pulled in front"

"I caught up again!"

They were now arguing, both at each other’s faces yelling loudly. The words they were spouting couldn't be heart over one and other, until the fighting was broken up by a mare in the sky. 

"Will you two stop it? We saw what happened. Sonic and Rainbow tied!, Pinkie announced. All the ponies looked at each other with confusion before cheering again. Rainbow's jaw dropped. How can someone be equal to her in speed? Sonic shrugged and walked off. 

"Heh, good enough for me. I'll catch you all later", he said. Rainbow turned to her opponent.

"Hey! Where are you going?! This isn't over yet!", Rainbow yelled angrily.

"Whatever, I'm off to the library. See ya Rainbow Dash", he calmly replied with a wave. Rainbow groaned at this and flew off away from the crowd. Among the crowd, Shadow chuckled under his breath as Fluttershy turned to him.

"What's so funny Shadow?", she asked.

"Heh, I'm surprised it was a draw. That's all", he replied. Fluttershy turned to look at the blue hedgehog that was slowly walking away. Deciding to show off a little, he blasted away from the crowds in a flash, as the crowds cheered in delight. The girl in the tree smiled and turned to the direction Sonic went. She jumped from the tree and blasted away. Her aura being red and rather fiery.

Sonic walked into the empty library and lay on the sofa. He still had a smile on his face. He had only been in the world a day and yet he was already having fun. he already made some friends and a rival. His concerns about getting home weren't major. He liked this world. A lot. 

However, more thoughts entered his head. What happened before. He was fighting Eggman as usual. A bright light shone from a large machine that Eggman was piloting. He ran alongside someone, a female. She called his name as the light caught up to him.... His thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. He sat up and looked at the doorway. Standing there was the girl in the hood. Sonic could see her face. He vaguely recognized it...

"Well, nice to see you're enjoying yourself, Sonic", she said quietly.

"Who are you?", he replied. The figure chuckled as she walked towards him, removing her cloak. Within an instant, Sonic knew who it was. She wore a strange purple coat with a golden neck piece. Her hair was bunched up in a ponytail with a red dot on her forehead. Her fur was lavender colored with a white muzzle. 

"Well, don't look too surprised", she quipped sarcastically.

"Blaze...what are you doing here?!", Sonic asked in shock as the cat shook his hand. Blaze raised an eyebrow at his remark. 

"I was with you before...remember?", she replied. Inside Sonic's head, he put the pieces of the puzzle together. Blaze was the voice that was calling his name before he blacked out.

"I, uh, don't remember a lot of what happened. But, what are you doing here?", he asked again.

"I could ask you the same thing. I must say I'm surprised you allowed yourself to be seen so easily. I kept myself hidden from these ponies, who know what they are capable of", she turned and wandered around the room before looking at him again. "Nice race by the way"

Sonic scratched his head nervously. "Heh, thanks. Do you know how we got here?" he asked.

"Well, I remember we were fighting Eggman. Then he did something that caused an explosion. After that, nothing. Woke up in an ally way and I went from there", she said. Blaze turned to the concerned hedgehog and gave a friendly smile. "I'm glad I managed to find you though", she smiled. Before another word could be said. A voice came from the doorway.

"Are we interrupting you?", asked Princess Celestia. She was joined by Twilight and Rarity. Blaze's eyes widened at the sight of the tall pony. Sonic's did too. Royal instinct caused Blaze to bow at Celestia's feet. She was a princess too, it was only natural. Celestia smiled at this act of kindness.

"There is no need to bow. But I must ask, who are you two?", Celestia asked. Twilight looked at Blaze in shock.

"Another one?! What are you? Another hedgehog?", she asked.

"I'm a cat...", Blaze said sternly. Twilight didn't know what to say and Rarity stood bewildered at it all. Rarity stared at Blaze, she seemed familiar.

"You know what? I'm not going to ask. Anyway, this is Princess Celestia. Celestia, this is Sonic the Hedgehog. I don't know the other one though..."

"My name is Blaze the Cat, a friend of Sonic's", replied Blaze.

"It's nice to meet both of you. Though how you both got here concerns me" Celestia wandered around the room. Any ideas?", she asked. Sonic stepped forward.

"We were actually just talking about that. Back on our worlds, there is a guy called Dr Eggman. He's basically a scientist who keeps trying to take over the world and when I say 'try' I mean, 'try'. We think he did something that sent us here", he explained. Blaze stepped forward as well.

"As for me, I was involved in the same incident. When I woke up, I was right in the middle of this town and because I didn't know where I was or who might be watching, I put on a cloak on roamed the area. I would roamed aimlessly, not knowing what to do until-", and before she could finish, Rarity stepped in.

"It was you wasn't it?! You were the one who wanted my emerald!", she pointed. Blaze crossed her arms and looked at the pony.

"Yes, I am. That emerald is a Sol Emerald. They are incredibly powerful and must be taken care of. I am.the guardian of them after all", replied Blaze. Sonic stood back in shock.

"The emeralds are here?! What about the Chaos Emeralds?!", Sonic demanded in a panic. Blaze looked at the ground with a look of uncertainty.

"I don't know, but we need to find them and fast", she replied. The ponies remained silent until this point, then Celestia spoke.

"I and my sister will look over the land for these emeralds of yours. But you must find a way back soon. Who knows that kind of danger our worlds are in. I will look for you. Farewell" and with that, she was gone in a bright light, leaving the 4 in the room, awkwardly looking at each other. The silence was interrupted by a waddling purple dragon.

"Hey guys, did I miss anything?....who's the purple one", asked Spike, pointing at Blaze. Everyone just rolled their eyes. "You know this sounds like the beginning of a joke. 2 ponies, a hedgehog and a purple girl walk into a library", he joked. Suddenly, from the outside was a loud explosion followed by screams from several ponies. Everyone ran out to find the source of the noise, It came from the center of Ponyville. Sonic and Blaze blasted into the town while Twilight teleported after them, leaving Spike and Rarity standing alone. They groaned and ran after them, following a pillar of smoke forming in the town.

Sonic and Blaze stopped at the source. At that moment, Twilight magically appeared beside them. They all stared at the source. A figure was standing in the smoke. It wasn't a pony, or a hedgehog, or a cat. It was something else. Something menacing. Sonic stared at it. It has thing arms and legs with a rather mechanical body. He knew what it was. And shock and fear filled his body. It stared at him with red, piercing eyes. Blaze and Twilight looked at it, Twilight has a slight look of wonder in her eyes. At that moment, Rarity and Spike joined them.

"NEVER leave me like that agai-....what is that thing?", she asked. Sonic looked at it, as if he was looking into a rather strange mirror.

"That....is a robot...", he could barely fathom his words. He wasn't scared of it, he was scared of what it meant.

"Mwhahaha!! Ponies of Ponyville! Lend me your ears!", echoed a very familiar voice. They all looked up to the metal ball hovering in the air. In it was a large-ish man. He wore a red jacket with a large smile. And anyone could recognize that mustache. "Ah, Sonic! My most loathsome enemy...."

"Eggman! What are you doing here?!", he demanded. "And what is Metal Sonic doing here as well?!", he pointed to the blue robot, who just stood there.

"Huh, he really is like an egg", muttered Twilight to herself.

"Ah, all in good time you meddlesome pincushion, but I will own both world when I'm done! And NOTHING will get in my way. Consider this a quick warning...Now....get a load of THIS!!", Eggman cried out load. At that moment, Metal Sonic raised into the air. They turned to look at the blue robot. Eggman made a hasty retreat, letting his robotic lacky do the dirty work. Metal Sonic looked at his organic counterpart. Without warning, he charged at him, hovering above the ground. Sonic braced himself for the attack, but he didn't have to. Before Metal Sonic could reach him, he was tacked by a cyan blur, being   launched into a building. Sonic looked in awe at the pony that saved him as Rainbow landed gracefully on the ground and looked at the impact. Metal simply got up and looked at his attacker without emotion.

"Rainbow! What are you?-", asked Sonic.

"Never mind me! What is that thing?!", she replied, still staring at the robot.

"That's Metal Sonic. He is a robotic version of me. Believe me, he dangerous!", he cried out.

"Heh...this should be fun. Come on Sonic, let's take this guy out!", she turned to him. Sonic suddenly grinned and joined at Rainbow's side. Blaze look on in fear of what was going to happen. Twilight and Rarity just looked at them.

..."WHAT IS GOING ON?!", cried the two ponies, almost in unison.

"Isn't it obvious? They about to fight” Blaze quietly replied. Metal began to hover. He signaled to Rainbow and Sonic to come to him.

"Or race...” Blaze muttered. He turned and flew off deeper into the town. Sonic and Rainbow followed. Several ponies watched in the direction they went. Blaze's eyes widened even more.

"....or both...."

Ponies of all shapes and sizes looked in horror of the 3 beings speeding around Ponyville. Metal Sonic flew triumphantly above all the ponies while behind him was Sonic and Rainbow Dash, aggressively going after him. This whole event gave Sonic deja vu of his past. The first time he fought Metal Sonic like this, he was running around Stardust Speedway, a city in ruin because of Eggman, causing a bad future. Naturally, the future was restored, but Metal Sonic remained a terrible foe ever since. He didn't want that fate to befall Ponyville either. Rainbow Dash, on the other hand had never had to chase someone like Metal Sonic before.

Metal Sonic slowed down and allowed Sonic and Rainbow Dash to overtake while still keeping a steady pace. Cautiously, they looked back at him. Metal Sonic began to surround himself in a bright lightning sphere of energy and began to glow furiously. He then charged at them in a drill formation, his arms pointing outwards. As he did so, the electric field dispersed behind him as he aimed at Sonic in particular, however, Sonic was ready. He leaped into the air, curled into a ball and over Metal Sonic. Sonic landed and continued to chase after his robotic counterpart. He saw his moment and took it. Sonic again jumped into the air and in an instant, curled up and blasted towards Metal Sonic, homing directly on him. When he hit him, Metal hit the ground and skidded through the grass below, never losing momentum. Rainbow watched in awe.

"How did you do that?” she asked Sonic.

"It was an old trick I learned from long ago. It's called the homing attack!” he replied. Before Rainbow could say anything. Metal was up and flying again. Unexpectedly, he took a sharp turn to the left. Rainbow Dash made a snap decision and followed him directly, leaving Sonic suddenly alone. He stopped and looked in the direction that they flew off. He put a hand on his side and tapped his foot. He became worried about Rainbow Dash and what might happen to her, before running after them again. Rainbow Dash sped towards the robot, as it turned towards it's new threat.

"So you think you’re a big shot huh? Try me tin can!” she taunted. Metal Sonic responded by grabbing a nearby lamppost and threw it at her. Rainbow's eyes widened at this sudden attack but she remained vigilant. She rolled to the side to dodge it as Metal Sonic threw more at her, still missing her. The lampposts hit the sides of buildings and scrapped against the ground. The ponies walking down the streets were not harmed by the flying metal, but many buildings were left slightly ruined. 

At that moment, a young orange filly walked outside of a shop near the center of Ponyville out by a large fountain hearing all the commotion. Her head turned to view a hoard of other ponies running away from the fight. She heard what sounded like jet engines heading her way. Despite the initial fear, she looked up to see her hero Rainbow Dash and an unfamiliar being fly right past her. The little filly suddenly felt like she was in an action movie which only she could dream of. They circled the fountain before flying into the air. Scootaloo watched in awe as the battle played out.

"Go Rainbow Dash!” she yelled out loud. Meanwhile, the recent barrage of attacks against Sonic and Rainbow Dash had slowed Metal Sonic down considerably, but didn't make him any less dangerous. He fired blasts of energy at the approaching pegesus, but to no avail. Rainbow Dash caught up to and passed by the blue robot. She stopped above him and as Metal Sonic reached her, she turned so her hind legs were facing him and delivered a powerful kick to Metal Sonic's head. The blow disorientated Metal and he began to spiral downwards toward the ground. 

Rainbow watched triumphantly, but her victory was short lived as she noticed what Metal Sonic happened to be spinning toward. She noticed that a familiar filly was watching the event unfold but was too busy watching the action play out to notice the obvious danger she was in. In a blind panic, Rainbow blasted downwards to the ground. Scootaloo noticed the robot heading her way but was struck still in fear. She closed her eyes, expecting the worse, but suddenly felt like she was flying through the air at great speed. She hesitantly opened her eyes to find herself in Rainbow Dash's arms. She grabbed the small filly, tucking her under an arm and made a direct turn to fly across the ground. Metal smacked against the ground. Hard. Rainbow came to a steady halt and set Scootaloo down on the ground. "You saved me!” Scootaloo said happily. Rainbow gave her a smile.

"No problem kid, but do me a favor and get to safety? I still need to have a chat with this thing", she instructed. The little filly nodded and ran off. Rainbow turned to the cloud of dirt that surrounded where Metal Sonic had landed. He was up on his feet once more, though he did seem damaged. Sparks were flying off his chest and his eyes seemed to flicker. Rainbow prepared herself once more as Metal Sonic darted toward her. However the roles became reversed as unexpectedly, Metal Sonic was kicked to the side by a blue blur. Sonic landed on the ground as Metal tumbled onto the ground once more.

"Give up faker! You can't beat us both!” Sonic yelled triumphantly. "I mean, if you can't beat me, what makes you think you can beat us?" Metal got up, though he seemed to struggle doing so. Now even more sparks were flying out of him and one of eyes were cracked. He just stared at them. Metal Sonic began to hover once more, smoke billowing out of his engine, but he didn't attack them. He instead flew up into the air and away from the town, a small trail of smoke being let out as he did so. All was quiet in Ponyville. The silence was broken by several scared ponies leaving the safety of their houses and gathering around Rainbow Dash and Sonic, as they cheered for the heroes. Rainbow Dash and Sonic turned and grinned at each other. Sonic put a fist out toward Rainbow, which she returned, completing the brofist. Or brohoof. They then waved at the crowd with smiles on their faces. However the crowd died down, leaving only 1 person clapping slowly. Everyone turned toward the lone black figure walking through the crowd of ponies toward the two. Sonic froze as a familiar black hedgehog walked toward him.

"Well done Sonic, playing hero once more", muttered Shadow quietly. I'm impressed that you both managed to defend the town from Eggman"

"Shadow? What are you doing here?” Sonic asked quietly. Shadow closed his eyes and smirked.

"The same way you did. And now that Eggman is here, you should be looking for the Chaos Emeralds. Not playing with these silly ponies", he replied. Rainbow Dash growled angrily.

"Hey buddy, I'll happily go against you as well if you want!” she yelled aggressively. Sonic instantly turned to Rainbow.

"Uh, he's not really one you want to fight", he quietly muttered. Shadow smiled menacingly and cracked his knuckles. Rainbow remained defiant.

"Hmph! As you wish!” growled Shadow and he started to skate toward her. However, he was stopped by a yellow pony that landed in front of him out of nowhere. He stopped on the spot.

"Fluttershy? What are you doing? Get out of my way!” demanded Shadow. Fluttershy stared him down and Shadow tensed up.

"No! I will not allow you to attack my friends. I don't care if you want to prove a point, I will not allow it!” she yelled back at him. Shadow remained perfectly still as Fluttershy lectured him. He couldn't move. Her stare somehow stopped him from being aggressive.

He was almost scared.

"What are you doing?", Shadow asked quietly. "How have you stopped me from attacking? Nobody has ever done that", he admitted. Sonic watched in shock at what happened. He had never seen Shadow back down so easily. He walked up to Rainbow and whispered in her ear.

"How is she doing that?” he asked quietly.

"Fluttershy has this weird 'stare' that she can do. Somehow it makes her much more intimidating. She has taken down dragons doing this", she replied. Sonic was surprised to hear that dragons existed in this world, but compared to seeing magic, it wasn't too big a deal. Besides, he's fought worse. He turned to look at Shadow again, who was looking right at him.

"Well still, you should be looking for the emeralds. I already have one, but who knows how many the Doctor has. He did have them all when he fired that machine. So be on the lookout. Got it?", Shadow asked. Sonic just nodded. "Good, now if you'll excuse me, I have actually important things to do" and with that, Shadow skated away, potentially embarrassed. Everyone just stared in silence in his general direction. Fluttershy walked up and broke the silence.

"Sorry about that Rainbow Dash", he apologized quietly. Sonic walked up to her.

"How do you know Shadow?"

"Shadow defended me from this large bear yesterday, even though I wasn't actually in massive danger, but I digress. I promised I'd help him look for these emeralds of his. But I didn't know he was this aggressive. Oh and are you the 'Sonic' that Rarity was talking about?", she asked.

"Yeah, I am. You know I'm impressed you instantly calmed him down. I've never seen someone do that before", he said. Fluttershy felt a little flattered by this. They were interrupted by Blaze running up to them through the crowd. As she got there, Twilight appeared out of thin air, this time with Rarity at her side.

"So, did you guys get that wretched thing?", asked Rarity. Sonic and Rainbow nodded in reply.

"Sorry we couldn't help, we were helping get some ponies to safety. Luckily nopony was hurt, but a few buildings are damaged where that thing hit. Also we saw some lampposts scattered around the area. Engineer ponies are gonna be annoyed", said Twilight. "So....who is this 'Eggman' Sonic?"

"He was the crazy guy I was telling you about before. But he being here means that you’re all in trouble. If anyone sees any particularly powerful looking emeralds, bring them to me or Blaze", he announced.

"And If you see ones that look like this...", Blaze then pulled out her Sol Emerald, "Then bring them to me"

"How many emeralds are there?", asked Rainbow Dash.

"All in all, 14", replied Sonic.

"Urgh, they could be anyway where!", retorted Rarity.

"Sonic, what was Metal Sonic doing here?", asked Blaze. Sonic looked off to the distance where Metal Sonic flew off.

"I really don't know. But I hope Eggman doesn't get any more ideas..."

....

It was a bright, metallic room. Various monitors and wires surrounded the room. A large door slid open and a tall figure entered the room. He walked over to a large table. On the table were various tools and mechanisms, but at the centre of the table was a blue robot. Its eyes were black with no light in them whatsoever. One of the arms was detached from its body and at the center was a large hole with a small engine next to it. It looked like it was being repaired or upgraded. In actuallity, it was Metal Sonic in mid-repair. The man walked next to the table brushing his mustache. Eggman carefully lifted up one of the lenses on Metal Sonic's eyes. Behind them was a small chip labeled 'visual memory'. He carefully picked up the chip and placed it into a monitor. After a few seconds, the chip played a video.

It was Metal Sonic's point of view during his fight with Sonic and Rainbow Dash. Eggman skipped a part of the battle to see what happened to Metal Sonic that caused so much damage to his systems. He played the video at normal speed. On the monitor was the plain sky. The view was interrupted by a cyan blur flying past him. The blur stopped as Metal Sonic continued forward and it kicked him in the head as Metal's point of view was suddenly changed to that of the ground, spinning in circles. Eggman reversed the clip and slowed it down at the point where Metal Sonic was kicked. He saw a cyan pony and it turned, showing off its hind legs before kicking. He sped up the clip again to before Metal hit the ground. He saw a little orange pony being saved by the same cyan blur as before. He slowed down the clip to see the rainbow colored mane of the pony. Eggman had a look of contemplation on his face as he continued to watch the clip.

Once the dust cleared, Metal Sonic had looked at the cyan pony. Eggman froze the clip to get a good look at her. He studied her, before smiling evilly. he then turned toward the dismantled Metal Sonic.

"Get ready Metal Sonic. Your about to make a new friend! OHOHOHO!!", he laughed manically. before picking up various tools and getting to work on something.

Something new....

Hours passed but finally, Eggman's newest creation was ready. He stood back to admire it.

"I am your master.. recognize me..", he demanded. The creation's piercing red eyes lit up at his command. Eggman smiled evilly. "Now, nothing will stop me!"

Alarms sounded, as he looked toward a large monitor. On it were the words, 'CHAOS EMERALDS LOCATED: LOCATIONS: EVERFREE FOREST AND ERROR. "Error? Where the heck is Error-Oh, that kind of error", he spoke quietly to himself. Eggman fiddled with the controls to find the second location. Then it hit him. One of the emeralds was outside of this world. Eggman looked over to a case. Inside it were 5 gems. 3 of them were shaped like diamonds, the other 2 were rectangular.

"Well, let's see if we can fix that!", he shouted. He cycled through various menus, he appeared to be selecting co-ordinates. Then, a large image came to view. it was of a large highway in the sky, it had various twists and turns. It went up, down and all around. Eggman just smiled at his new, yet dangerous idea....

...

The sun was setting on Ponyville, yet some ponies remained hard at work, clearing debris off the ground and taping of some buildings due to damage. Among them was Applejack alongside a smaller yellowish pony with a large pink bow in its hair. Applejack was busy clearing up bricks and pieces of metal.

"Now watch yourself Applebloom, these pieces might be sharp", she said. The little filly rolled her eyes.

"I'll be fine sis", she retorted. "So anyway, what happened back here? I heard Scootaloo talking about Rainbow Dash fighting this blue thing"

"I dunno what happened exactly. It wasn't until Twilight told me that I found out. Something about a metal robot and Rainbow Dash and Sonic thought it off. After that, I decided to help out clearing up the mess"

"...Who is Sonic?"

"A hedgehog. Don't ask, because I'm not totally sure either. Everything has been weird today and I swear I saw something weird earlier", Applejack explained. Applebloom perked up.

"Oh? What did you see?", she asked.

"I saw this yellow thing flying around, it seemed to be looking for someone, but I think i was just seein' things"

"How so?"

"What ever it was, it had two tail-like things, using them to fly around like a propeller", she said calmly.

"Oh...yeah that really is weird", muttered Applebloom. The two continued to clean up in silence, though Applejack was still visibly confused. She remained puzzled about what she saw, but she put it aside to concentrate on cleaning up, pausing at a bent and broken piece of a rooftop. She sighed before slowly moving it aside. Meanwhile outside Ponyville, Sonic and Blaze were walking side by side alone together. The sun was setting in front of them.

"That was some day, wasn't it?", asked Blaze. Sonic turned to her.

"You don't say? When do you get to say 'I woke up in a world where everyone is a pony before being attacked by Metal Sonic?", he joked. Blaze giggled quietly.

"Well, I'm glad you made it out of that fight in one piece, though I had little doubt you'd emerge victorious", she replied confidently. Sonic looked at her and smiled.

"Well, I'm glad you’re ok as well", he replied. He turned to the sky. "This world is completely different to mine or yours. Aside from the ponies I mean"

"I know, but we can't admire it for long. If Eggman is here, who knows what kind of trouble this world is in" Blaze looked at the ground before turning to Sonic again. "The sunset is lovely tonight. Don't you think so?" Sonic turned to her and grinned.

"Yeah, I guess so", he smiled and they continued to walk onward. Blaze became disgruntled at something though.

"Sonic, do you feel that?"

"What?"

"The ground is moving...", she said alarmingly. At that, the ground began to shake violently. Leaves from nearby trees began to rustle and far off into the distance, a bright light was shining. Meanwhile, inside Ponyville, Twilight, Rarity and Applejack all gathered at the center. Several ponies were panicking.

"What the hoof is going on?!", shouted Applejack.

"I don't know! Earthquake maybe?!" replied Twilight in a panic. She turned to see a less than ordinary sight. Pinkie Pie was shaking along the ground with a smile on her face.

"WeEeE! tHiS iS fUn, HuH?!", she gleefully announced.

"Pinkie! This is no time for jokes!", shouted Twilight. "Come on, follow me!" Twilight ran off. Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie followed, Pinkie bouncing of course, with a smile on her face. They made a beeline to the outskirts of Ponyville. Twilight spotted Sonic and Blaze and ran up to them.

"What is going on now?!", she demanded. Sonic turned to her.

"I don't know!", Sonic replied in a panic. They all looked over at the bright light shining in the distance. They were quickly joined by two others.

"Sonic, what have you done now?!", demanded Shadow as he skidded to a halt beside him. Alongside him was Fluttershy who elegantly landed beside him. She whimpered slightly in fear of the unknown.

"Oh, right! I forgot Shadow! I have the ability to make earthquakes! SILLY ME!", shouted Sonic, dripping with sarcasm.

"Hm. Well, it's the emeralds power", he replied calmly. Sonic looked back at the light in pure fear. As the light began to glow brighter, a rainbow shot across it and stopped in front of them all. Rainbow Dash landed without saying a word. The light glowed to the point that they all shielded their eyes.

Far away at the farm, a young yellow fox sat on top of a farm house roof, looking at the same light. His twin tails waved slowly in the air. He covered his eyes from the light for a short while. Once the light died down, he looked at the result. His face froze is shock.

"You're kidding me" he uttered quietly.

Back with the group they all stared at what became of the light. The 6 ponies looked in awe. Shadow and Blaze looked in confusion. However, Sonic was in shock. He knew what it was. More than anyone.

It was a large city. Several tall skyscrapers stood tall over the sky. The originally blank land was now bright and tall. Alongside the buildings was a twisting road, which didn't look like it would function as a normal road. Helicopters also flew around the buildings. It wasn't from this world. It was from Sonic's. Despite the danger, Sonic was a little excited. Before anyone could speak, a large sign slammed into the ground in front of them. It was covered in dust. Applejack cautiously walked up to the sign, brushing off the dust. She studied it with a look of confusion. Sonic walked up to her to read it himself. Once he did, his fears were confirmed.

"Welcome everypony....", he said quietly.

"...to Speed Highway"

> An Other Worldly Conversation (New and Silly)

Ok, I apologize beforehand. This will act as both a gap for one character, but also as a tribute to one of my favorite films of all time. Some might find this cringey or boring and someone will find this criminally unoriginal and silly (which it is) but I couldn't resist. You can skip this chapter if you want.

Clutching his head, the confused hedgehog wandered through the streets of the near silent town, looking left and right for dangers. New world, new horrors was his mind set. He thought he'd stick out among the few ponies that still wandered the streets, but none took any real notice of him. In his hands, the silver hedgehog clutched two emeralds. One diamond shaped, the other more rectangular. To be honest, he wasn't really concerned about where he was, or the location of emeralds. His biggest issue right now was the terrible headache he had landed himself with. He was annoyed. There he was enjoying a midnight stroll in the present and all of a sudden, BAM, somewhere else. He thought he'd better ask somepony for help. Any form of guidance would do him wonders. He approached two stallions working at a house, both wearing hard-hats and florescent jackets.

"Uh, hello?", asked the hedgehog. The closest stallion turned to him. He didn't seem at all fazed by his appearance, as if he had seen him before somewhere

"Another hedgehog? Never seen you before. What's your name?", it asked. It spoke with a distinct accent, almost cockney.

"'Another hedgehog?' Who else has been here?", he asked.

"Well, there was this one named Sonic that raced Rainbow Dash earlier. Terrific fun, was rooting for Rainbow Dash mind you, but each to their own. What's your name, pal?", he asked.

"..Silver the Hedgehog. Where am I?", he asked. The older stallion raised a brow.

"You're in Ponyville mate", he replied sternly. Silver let the thought flow through his head before continuing. He decided to ask more into Sonic.

"Look, this will sound weird, but I'm not from here. I'm from another world and another time. I was teleported here through unknown means, so I'd like to know where Sonic went", Silver explained. The stallion seemed fixated on something else.

"What, teleported using magic?", he asked.

"I dunno about that-", Silver started.

"You're using gems!", the stallion replied. It seemed as if he thought he teleported using them.

"What?"

"Everypony knows you have to have a horn to use magic. Gems do nothing for ya", he explained. Silver just stared at him, preparing to change the subject.

"Look, I just want to know where-"

"Where did you get that diamond-shaped one?"

"...I found it"

"Found it? That's cut in the Manehatten style!"

"What do you mean?", asked Silver, puzzled at his ramblings.

"Well, gems aren't cut in this style in this part of Equestria", he explained. Silver decided to educate the pony a little bit.

"A swallow might fly south with the sun or a house martin or a plover might look for warmer areas in winter, yet these are not strangers to your land if I'm right", Silver retorted. The stallion just stared at him.

"...Are you suggesting gems migrate?", he asked, baffled.

"Not really. it could be imported or even carried, but that's not relevent-", Silver tried to change the subject, but the stallion was for having none of it.

"What, a swallow carrying a gem that size?"

"It could grip it by the top end, now-"

"It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound diamond gem!", the stallion explained. Silver was just getting annoyed now.

"Well, it doesn't matter. Will you please tell me where I can find Sonic?", Silver asked politely, trying not to get angry.

"Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?", he replied. Silver had enough.

"Please!", he pleaded.

"Am I right?" the stallion continued. Silver sighed with irritation.

"I'm not interested", he admitted. Before he could try again, another pony turned away from her work to face the two.

"It could be carried by an Amareican swallow!", she butted in, offering no help to Silver at all.

"Oh, yeah, an Amareican swallow maybe, but not a Equestrian swallow. That's my point", the stallion replied.

"Oh, yeah, I agree with that" she said. It was like Silver wasn't there.

"WILL YOU PLEASE TELL ME, WHERE I CAN FIND SONIC?!", he cried out.

"But then of course, uh, Amareican swallows are non-migratory", the stallion continued, directed at the mare working with him.

"Oh, yeah", she replied.

"So, they couldn't bring a gem back anyway." Silver had had enough and walked away from the ponies, tired of their nonsense, still overhearing it as a third voice joined in.

"Wait a minute! Supposing two swallows carried it together?", the third voice spoke.

"No, they'd have to have it on a line", replied the stallion.

"Well, simple! They'd just use a strand of creeper!"

"What, held under the dorsal guiding feathers?"

"Well, why not?", and that was the last Silver could make out of them. Looking at the horizon, he spotted something that stuck out among the rest of the world. A massive city, standing in the middle of nowhere. With a smile, Silver glowed a distinct green colour as he levitated off the ground, and onto a nearby roof to get a better look. Admiring the view, Silver planned his next move.

So, we're getting deeper into the story. This is where the most updates will spring up

The ground stopped shaking as the town went dead. Conversation ceased in the district once the ground started shaking. The sun had set and the night began over Equestria and somehow no pony in Ponyville had yet noticed the brand new city in the distance. Maybe it was because the majority of ponies fled into their houses and never left. Inside one of the houses, a little filly was looking out of a window. She had a look of curiosity and wonder; after all, she had just been saved by her greatest hero mere hours ago. Scootaloo left her bedroom and down the stairs of her house. She made a path to the door, but before she could reach it, a female voice called from the hallway.

"Scootaloo? Where are you going?” asked her mother. Her mother was a yellow unicorn with a long blue mane. She seemed slightly worried.

"I wanna see what happened outside, Mom", she replied. Her mother hesitated and then smiled.

"Ok, but only for a short time. It's getting late” she replied. It was clear that she cared greatly about her daughter. Scootaloo rolled her eyes and smiled back, nodding in agreement. She opened the door and walked outside. Her mother closed the door after her and walked towards the window. In a chair was a red pegasus with a matching red mane, reading a newspaper. He looked over to his wife.

"You sure Scootaloo will be ok?” he asked. His wife looked over to him with a smile.

"I'm sure she'll be fine...” she replied quietly as her watched her daughter walked off toward the centre of Ponyville. Scootaloo looked around as she saw the aftermath of the battle from earlier. On the ground was a large hole where the being had almost crushed her earlier. Of course Rainbow Dash saved her. She looked down the hole. Inside it was small pieces of scrap metal and blue pieces of flaked off paint. She couldn't quite comprehend what had happened. It was a monster she never heard of, not even in her stories. Scootaloo was too busy to notice a figure creep up behind her. A small unicorn to be exact. She put a hoof on Scootaloo's back and she froze. Scootaloo slowly turned her head to see what terrible being might be after her. Only it wasn't a monster. Not even close. It was Sweetie Belle, one of Scootaloo's best friends. She giggled at Scootaloo's expression.

"Hehe, I didn't mean to scare ya", Sweetie said quietly. Scootaloo tried to act calm and collected, but inside her heart was beating a mile a minute.

"Uh, you didn't sc-scare me", she retorted. "And what are you doing out here?"

"I came out here looking for Rarity. You haven't seen her,have you?" she asked. The orange filly just shook her head. Sweetie Belle just sighed. "I'll never find her at this rate"

"Hey guys!” called another filly. The two turned toward the voice. It was Applebloom, skipping along toward them. "Anyone know what that noise was?” she asked. The two just shook their heads.

"Y'know, how often is it, we're out this late?" questioned Scootaloo. "I mean, all this is pretty cool right?" Sweetie Belle just stared at her, eye-lids have closed.

"We got attacked by a flying monster. There's a line between cool and scary. I think that crosses it", she retorted. Applebloom just raised a brow and looked in to the sky. Something caught her attention.

"Hey, look!” she said pointing to the sky. The other two looked into the air toward what she was pointing at. There were faint spotlights waving around in the sky. "C'mon, let's follow them!” Applebloom yelled, as she ran toward the source of the light. Sweetie Belle shouted after her.

"What? We don't even know what those are!", she shouted, but Applebloom kept on running. "Argh, this won't end well", she mumbled, running after Applebloom with Scootaloo in tail.

They ran through the town. Some parts weren't lit the same as some lights were absent from their posts, leaving only stumps. They also ran past an engraving on the ground, as if something crash landed on it and a dent in a wall, where something was launched into it, the remnants of a recent battle. They made their way to the outskirts of the town and caught sight of the large new city in the distance. The three fillies stared in awe at their discovery.

"Was that always there?" asked Sweetie Belle.

"I think we'd know if a city just moved in beside Ponyville" replied Scootaloo. Scootaloo's attention was drawn to a group of 9 standing nearby a small sign. Among them was Rainbow Dash. With an excited gasp, Scootaloo went to walk towards her before being stopped by Applebloom.

"Wait a sec, we'll be told to go away if we just go up to them. I wanna see what this is first” Applebloom quietly ordered. They all stared at the group. Among the group was a tall blue figure, he appeared to be freaking out about something, panicking. He was quickly calmed down by a purple figure with a large tail. Also among the group was Applejack and Rarity, who were in discussion about something. They were all talking at once before a black figure stopped them all, talking alone. 

"What do you think they are talking about?” asked Sweetie Belle.

"Never mind what they are talking about, who the heck is the blue guy?", Scootaloo replied. The fillies just stared at the 3 figures on two feet, as if they were aliens. They continued watching as Rainbow Dash spoke directly to the blue figure. With that, they both darted off toward the city. The black and purple figures soon followed. Rarity and Twilight disappeared in a flash of light leaving Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack alone. They all looked at each other before running after the group. They all quickly disappeared into the distance, minus Applejack and Fluttershy. The 3 fillies quickly darted over to the sign on the ground. Scootaloo made her way over to it.

"Now entering Speed Highway...” she read aloud. Applebloom looked confused.

"Speed-what now? What the kinda name is that?” she replied. They all looked off into the distance.

"I dunno, never heard of it. What do you guys reckon a highway is?", she asked.

"Maybe it's a really tall...way?", Sweetie Belle guessed. The other two looked at each other and back to the sign. 

"Whatever it seems interesting enough for those guys" said Scootaloo. At that moment, an idea popped into her head. She turned and smiled at her friends. "Let's go find out!” she shouted.

Sweetie and Applebloom looked at each other. "I doubt that'd be a good idea. It could be dangerous...” Sweetie said quietly.

"Yeah, that's a really big city, we'd get lost. I mean, I was wondering what it was, but now I'm not sure" replied Applebloom. Scootaloo rolled her eyes.

"C'mon guys! Rainbow Dash is there! We'll be just fine! What are you? Chicken” she joked. 

"Nope. We established that's you, Scootaloo", snarked Applebloom.

"You're hilarious, now are we going?", pressed Scootaloo. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle looked at each other and sighed. They turned back to the eager filly.

"Urgh, fine then", Applebloom muttered. Scootaloo leaped into the air with a smile.

"Yes! Our own little adventure, maybe we'll get our cutie marks doing this! You know, maybe one out special skills is adventuring", Scootaloo happily yelled. "Well c'mon! Let's go!" and she turned and made a run for Speed Highway, before she stopped. "Wait, hang on a sec" and she ran back into Ponyville. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle just stared at where she went.

A few minutes later, she returned on a scooter with a small red wagon attached to the back of it. Inside the wagon were two helmets. Scootaloo was wearing one herself, approaching the two. "Get in" she said happily. The two both crawled into the wagon and sat down, each picking up a helmet and putting on. Once she saw they were done, Scootaloo drove off with them in tow, going at incredible speeds. Not nearly as fast as Sonic or Rainbow Dash, but fast enough.

It was quite a drive but after a while, they made it the city. Where the city started and the regular landscape ended was very unnatural. The grass suddenly turned into smooth tarmac as the fillies made their way into the city, as if the city was just 'planted' there. The 3 couldn't fathom the size of these immense structures, lights flashing everywhere. Curiously, there was no-one in the city. Not a pony in sight. They didn't know that usually humans occupied the city, but there were no humans either. Though the streets were barren, it certainly didn't look like a ghost town. There were signs and neon lights everywhere, all in perfect condition.

Like someone was once there.

"Hey, look at that in the sky!” Sweetie Belle pointed out. She pointed to a small helicopter in the sky it seemed to fly in a set course. Applebloom was admiring the sights of the city; it was nothing like in Ponyville. Scootaloo was busy looking for Rainbow Dash but she could not be seen at all. She did however; catch sight of a massive highway in the air. It was very different, having corkscrews, loops and sharp drops. As if it wasn't built for normal use.

"Hey look at that road, let's go check it out", Scootaloo said with glee. She made her way to the start of the road, suspended in the air. To get there, they'd have to enter one of the tall skyscrapers. Scootaloo made her way to the entrance. On the door was a large button. It was too high for Scootaloo to reach, no matter how hard she tried. She frantically flapped her wings in hopes of getting somewhere, but to no avail. "Ok guys, we need to tower ourselves up to reach that button", she announced. Applebloom stepped forward.

"You’re sure that's a good idea?” she questioned.

"What's the worst that could happen?" she replied. Scootaloo readied herself in front of the button. Applebloom hesitated, but she climbed onto Scootaloo's back and attempted to stand up. Scootaloo's legs buckled slightly under the pressure, but she remained standing. Applebloom wobbled slightly but while steadying herself, she made a reach for the button. She was just a little too short.

"Sweetie Belle, climb up us to get to the button" Applebloom called. Hesitating, Sweetie Belle climbed up Scootaloo, which again caused her legs to shake. Sweetie Belle quickly climbed up Applebloom and steadied herself on her back. The tower of fillies swayed side to side as Sweetie reached for the button. She pressed it right before Scootaloo's legs couldn't take the weight anymore. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle toppled to the ground with a thud, though they achieved they're goal. They fillies picked themselves up off the ground and looked at the door. It slid open revealing a small room. Curiously, the three entered the room side by side. Inside the room was a small monitor with a countdown. The three looked up to see the numbers countdown.

3...2...1...

The door slid shut again. Applebloom squeaked slightly in fear. The 3 looked at each other. They had no idea what was happening. Suddenly, the room shook as it appeared to go up. They had no idea, but the room was really a small elevator going up the building. Time passed as the elevator went up several floors before abruptly stopping, Applebloom falling down on the floor. As she got up, the door slid open again, revealing a long hallway, tarmac on the floor. They ran down the hallway to the end, Scootaloo running faster than the rest. However, as she hit the end of the road, Scootaloo immediately screeched to a halt with the other two stopping beside her.

In front of them was a long, steep stretch of road. At the bottom was a corkscrew. Lampposts decorated the side of the highway. Sweetie Belle looked over the side of the road below. The street looked tiny compared to where they were. "Wow, we're so high up!” she turned to look at the highway. "Scootaloo, go and get your scooter", Sweetie Belle suggested.

"Why?"

"I have an idea..."

Because this is the 10th chapter (actually 11th due to 2 being merged, but I digress) I will release a few more hints about the story. Namely themes.

Also, I took the time to fill in some parts of the story. I rushed the ending so I tidied it up a little. There is some new dialogue and some changes.

The moon shone brightly over the city. Its brightness only adding to the infinite amount of lights surrounding Speed Highway. Lampposts and lights from the tall skyscrapers caused a single aura of light to surround the cityscape. On top of a large stretch of road stood 4 figures. A hedgehog, a cat and 2 ponies. The hedgehog and one of the ponies looked eager to go through the highway. The other 2 looked less that pleased to do so.

"What's the matter Blaze? Scared of heights?" Sonic asked with a grin. Blaze focused on the tarmac below, trying not to look over the sides of the road to the tiny looking streets below them. They were after all very, very high up from the ground. Rarity on the other hand was very curiously looking over the sides of the highway, in awe of her surroundings.

"This place is simply dazzling! I wish I could have seen this place before", she exclaimed happily.

"Yeah, I've been here a few times in my life. It's a good run", Sonic replied. "It's full of loops, corkscrews and other awesome stuff. It practically goes up, down and all around"

"Sounds like my kinda place!" said Rainbow Dash. "You ready to run this thing?"

"Sure! Let's go!" and he blasted down the hill. Rainbow followed him. At the end of the hill was a large loop, and without stopping, Sonic went right round it and continued on through the twists and turns of the highway. Rainbow Dash flew through the loop at incredible speeds and dashed after Sonic. The two disappeared into the distance, leaving Rarity and Blaze by themselves at the beginning on the road. Rarity awkwardly looked at Blaze.

"So....." Rarity started. Blaze turned to her, paying attention. "Why did the others split-up again, I was half listening"

"Shadow run off. He said something about 'the emerald's power' and Fluttershy and Twilight went after him. As for the other two, I dunno. I think they are just wandering the city" Blaze looked at the ground, her feet suddenly became interesting. "You know, I'm sorry for demanding the emerald off of you"

"Oh, it's quite alright. i was probably going to use it for a dress anyway, and you have a much bigger use for it" she replied.

"You make dresses?"

"Of course. I'm a fashion designer after all. Though I must say I have never seen a dress like yours Princess Blaze" Blaze gave her a smile.

"Please, don't call me a princess. But thank you, you should show me some of your work when we have time. I'm quite interested", Blaze replied. Rarity's eyes lit up.

"Oh I shall! I can see this as the beginning of a beautiful friendship" Rarity exclaimed. She gave Blaze a friendly hug in return. Blaze stood there frozen at this sudden act, though she remained grateful. She was beginning to like Rarity, the same way she did when she met Cream for the first time a long time ago. She let go and returned to the road. "So, are you going to run this thing?" Rarity leapt onto Blaze's back, she turned to give her a look of confusion.

"What do you think you are doing?!” she demanded.

"Well I can't run as fast as you, or teleport so how do I keep up?" she explained.

Blaze sighed. She hoped this friendship didn't completely consist of this. It was how horses usually work. But in reverse. "Ok fine, but I am a little afraid of extreme heights...so I might have to close my eyes at some points. Hold on tight by the way"

"Wait what?!", Rarity cried. Without answer, Blaze ran right down the hill. Rarity held on for dear life, screaming in Blaze's ear, which caused Blaze to react.

"STOP YELLING AND START DIRECTING!!", she screamed back at her.

"LOOP COMING UP!!", Rarity yelled. The two yelled all the way around the loop. When they were done, Blaze stopped yelling, but that didn't stop Rarity as she screamed directions directly into her ears. "LEFT! RIGHT! RIGHT AGAIN! LEFT!" as the two boosted through the track. Meanwhile, much further ahead, Rainbow Dash was through the air. She looked down the notice that Sonic was not there anymore, there was no road left either. Before she could think about where he was, a helicopter flew right up beside her. She looked at the bottom of it to notice a familiar blue hedgehog hanging onto the side. He gave her a salute as they flew through the air together which Rainbow Dash happily returned. 

She flew at the side of the helicopter, making sure not to get to close to the blades. After a while, Sonic dropped from the helicopter and effectively skydived to a small platform attached to a tall skyscraper. He somehow landed gracefully despite the fall. He leapt onto the side of the building and ran straight up it, until hitting a platform to stand on, connected to the side of the building. Rainbow was already there waiting for him.

"Dead end. What do we do now?", Rainbow asked. Before she could answer, the 2 were drawn to the sound of a pony screaming. They looked over to see Rarity and Blaze making a massive jump over from the building they were previously on and witnessed the ridiculous sight of Rarity hanging onto the poor cat. Blaze had always been able to jump higher than Sonic, she wasn't as fast as him though. The two began to descend toward the ground at the halfway point. Rarity's screams got louder at the prospect of her doom. Blaze clenched her eyes shut tights and drew her arms and legs close to her chest. A ball of flames formed in front of her. Rarity stopped screaming for a few seconds and stared at what was happening. Rainbow was as well, yet Sonic looked at it as if it was 'run-of-the-mill'

Blaze threw her arms and legs back as an aura of fire enveloped her, she blasted forward toward the platform as she managed to boost in mid-air. Rarity started screaming again as they completed the gap. Blaze landed on the platform with a hand on the ground. Her landing shook the ground a little due to the speed she was going at. Rarity finally let go as an annoyed Blaze looked at her, flames still burning off her body.

"Heh...sorry about the screaming...", Rarity muttered scratching her head. Blaze rolled her eyes and looked toward Sonic and Rainbow Dash, the latter was standing in awe.

"How did you do that?!", asked Rainbow Dash with almost child-like curiosity. Blaze gave her a small smirk.

"Just a little thing I have always been able to do. She brought up a hand and as if out of nowhere, flames danced around her fingers. The sight amazed the two ponies, but not the hedgehog. He gave her a small smile, which Blaze happily returned. "So, what's the situation?" She walked to the end of the platform. It was based on a hole in the building, at the end was a glass hanger. The 4 went over to the end, with Sonic continuing to the glass floor of the hanger. He looked down the streets below.

"So...what now?", asked Rarity. Sonic smiled to them and motioned them to stand next to him. Cautiously, Rarity and Blaze stepped forward onto the glass, with Rainbow Dash doing so with no problems. It creaked loudly under the weight of the 4, and all 3 turned to Sonic, who had a rather malicious grin on his face. He raised his foot high off the ground. Blaze's face froze with horror.

"No, SONIC DON'T!", but her pleas were ignored as Sonic plunged his foot hard onto the glass. Large cracks forming over the glass as it began to give way...

"GOING DOOOOOWN!!!", he yelled at the top of his voice. The glass completely broke and the 4 fell through the floor. Sonic immediately started to run down the building. Rainbow simply began to fly down alongside him, Rarity under her arm, who instantly started screaming. Blaze on the other hand tried to run down the side of the building at Sonic's side. It was all going well before her fear of heights got the worst of her as she lost her footing on the building. Sonic grabbed her and held her in his arms. He was boosting, a blue aura forming around them, with a hint of fire due to Blaze's influence.

On the ground was Applejack and Pinkie Pie, gaping at the surroundings. Pinkie Pie was bouncing around the city with glee.

"Wow! This place is huuuuuuuuuuuuge!!!" she shouted with glee.

"Yeah it is", Applejack agreed. "Hey...what's that there noise?" she asked, looking around in all directions.

"Does it sound like a pony screaming?" replied Pinkie.

"Uh...yeah..."

"Then it's that up there!" she shouted, pointing up the building next to them. A blue, purple, cyan and white speck was blasting down the building toward them. "Is that Sonic, Rainbow, Blaze and Rarity?"

"Whatever it is, IT'S HEADING OUR WAY!! RUN!!" Applejack shouted out loud. She got out of the way quickly. Pinkie actually walked away from the building calmly. At that point, the 4 to a wild turn to the ground, Rainbow stopped flying and dropped Rarity down. Sonic on the other hand jumped from the side and slammed into the ground, small cracks forming on the hard concrete from the impact. He set the distressed Blaze down and stood silently. Unexpectedly, he threw his arms into the air triumphantly.

"WOO! That was awesome!", he yelled happily. He looked over to Blaze with a smile. She did not return it. In fact she returned to him a mighty slap to the face. A massive hand mark was left on his face. He lightly brushed his cheek before Blaze grabbed him firmly by the shoulders, and brought his face close to hers.

"Do that again, and I will make you regret it!", she snarled, flames flaring in her eyes. Sonic shrunk at her rage. "But at the same time..." she said more quietly. "You did stop me from falling all the way so..." and with that, she yanked him closer to her. She gave him a light peck on the cheek and let him go, turning to walk off. "Come on, let's go find Shadow" The 4 ponies looked back to Sonic. His normally blue face now bright red. Not with pain.

He was blushing.

Meanwhile, up high above them, 3 fillies were contemplating whether their next move would be a bad one or not. Scootaloo eased close to the edge of the highway with her scooter. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle in tow inside the wagon behind her. Each of them with their helmets securely fasted on their heads.

"Sweetie Belle, are you sure about this?", asked Scootaloo nervously. Sweetie gave her a warming smile.

"Trust me, this'll be fun!", she replied happily. Scootaloo took a gulp before moving closer to the edge. She placed her feet onto her scooter and steadied herself. They hit the point of no return as they went down the hill, gathering speed faster and faster. The 3 yelled as they came up to the corkscrew, though they had gathered enough speed to go right through it with no problems. Still yelling, the three continued around the course, going up and down hills and through spirals. They hit a large ramp and leapt across the rooftops. Helicopters circled around the area. They continued though the course. Applebloom was loving what was happening, the 3 had never been in this sort of location. After a while the three landed on a rooftop with windows on it. 

"Scootaloo! Watch out for the windows!" yelled Sweetie Belle.

"I CAN'T MOVE ANYTHING! WE'RE GOING TOO FAST!!" she screamed back at her.

Scootaloo has zero control over the direction they were going and with a scream, hit the window and fell into the building. Inside the building was dark, with the sole light source being the windows in the roof. The 3 screamed as they fell onto the floor below, somehow unharmed. The wagon and scooter landed beside them. They looked around the room. There was nothing particularly interesting about the room, it seemed to be an office. Scootaloo looked around the room before she took notice of a small collection of gems on the floor next to them.

There were 4 of them. 2 diamond shaped ones and 2 rectangular ones. The three circled around them and looked at them in awe.

"Ooh! Pretty!" said Sweetie Belle. She picked up one of them and examined it closely. They had no idea that there was a figure behind them. 

"Step away from the emeralds..." muttered a male voice. The three turned toward the black hedgehog looking down on them.  He looked at them angrily and they nervously backed away nervously.

"We-we're sorry Sir!..." yelped Sweetie Belle. Shadow looked at them threateningly as the 3 fillies cowered in fear.

"Shadow! Leave them, They are harmless!" shouted Twilight. She ran into the room and toward the black hedgehog. Shadow acknowledged her request and backed away from the 3. She ran up to the nervous fillies that calmed down at her sight.

"Twilight! What are you doing here?!" asked Applebloom. Before Twilight could answer, Fluttershy entered the room and ran up to Shadow, who picked up the emeralds and took the one from Sweetie Belle. Twilight looked at the 4 emeralds in Shadow's hands, before turning to the 3. "What are you doing here? Well, how did you get here?"

Scootaloo walked toward her. "We followed you...sorry. We just thought that we could get closer to our cutie marks..." she muttered quietly. Twilight gave her a calming smile, which Scootaloo returned.

"So that's 3 Chaos Emeralds and 3 Sol Emeralds. We're making progress...where are Sonic and the others? We can get out of here now" asked Shadow. Twilight turned to him.

"Allow me" replied Twilight. Her horn magically glowed, brighter than ever before. An aura of magic covered them and with a flash, they are disappeared, including the fillies in a flash of light. Elsewhere, Sonic and the others were walking around the city. They began to glow as well. They stopped to admire the light, Sonic studying is hands.

"What is going on?-" he asked aloud. But without warning, they all vanished into thin air.

They were teleported out of the city and back to Ponyville where all of them grouped together once more. Rainbow Dash looked about confused.

"What the...what just happened?!" she demanded.

"I brought us back" Twilight said proudly. "We found some emeralds!" Shadow gave the 2 Sol Emeralds to Blaze who nodded in thanks. Shadow gave one of the Chaos Emeralds to Sonic. It was a dark blue emerald that glowed to his touch. "and we also found these 3 wondering about the city...." she said pointing to the 3. Applejack and Rarity walked up to their respective sisters, who both reacted with worry.

"Sweetie Belle! What were you doing at the city?! It could have been dangerous!" she yelled.

"And you too Applebloom, what were you thinking?" added Applejack. The two fillies looked at each other and back at Scootaloo. She sighed and walked up to the two ponies.

"It was me who suggested that we go. I'm sorry..." Rarity and Applebloom looked at each other and back at them.

"I know you are desperate for your marks...but that was still an unknown location. Please be careful next time" Rarity said quietly, hugging her little sister.

"Sorry sis" muttered Applebloom.

"Oh it's fine, as long as you’re ok" said Applejack, hugging her little sister. Meanwhile, Shadow, Sonic, Blaze and Twilight were all crowded in a group.

"So, we're getting somewhere, just 9 emeralds left" Twilight said solemnly.

"Hm...I wonder where else we should look..." said Shadow. Twilight thought to herself before coming up with something.

"What about the Everfree Forest They could be there" she said.

"Well there's only one way to find out!" Applejack butted in. "But you three should stay put next time-" she continued before her eye caught something. "What is that on the roof?" she asked, pointing at a single rooftop. They turned toward the roof she pointed out. On it was a collection of spikes, staring at them all. It was difficult to see exactly.

Sonic turned and walked up to the building, but the figure got up and jumped into the air. A strange glow of energy surrounded him as he hovered toward the group. Everyone looked up at him with curiosity. Twilight in particular looked very curious at him. 

"Sonic the Hedgehog...I might have known you had something to do with this" it muttered as it landed in front of him. It was a white hedgehog.

"Well, well, well, Silver the Hedgehog....what are you doing here now?" he asked with a smirk.

"Answer me this Sonic....Where the heck am I?" he asked with an exasperated expression.

Slower chapter...I'll keep the action for the next chapter....

It was around midnight in Ponyville, the stars in the night sky glistened alongside the moon which shone over the town. The vast majority of houses in Ponyville were dark as ponies slept comfortably and safely in their beds, despite the recent attack on the town. All was silent as the town slept. However, among the many dark houses, one still had lights on. It stood out among all the others. Inside the house was a fairly sized group of different characters, all sitting in a living room. Fluttershy was sprawled on the floor, having a nap as the others spoke. Applejack was sitting attentively on the floor, with her hat on the ground next to her, under it being Applebloom who was sound asleep, Pinkie Pie sat at her side on a small chair, staring curiously at the red tail poking out from under it. Fillies need their sleep. Collapsed on the couch was Sonic with Blaze at his side, sitting rather closely to him. Shadow stood with his back against the wall, arms crossed as usual. On another couch was Rainbow Dash, who took up the whole couch laying on her stomach, tired from all the flying. On her back was Scootaloo, sleeping comfortably and occasionally flapping her wings. Rainbow turned and looked at the sleeping filly with a gentle smile.

On a third couch was Twilight, looking exhausted after running around Speed Highway's streets with Shadow and Fluttershy. Next to her sat a new white hedgehog in the group. Silver sat back comfortably on the couch. Gazing at the selection of characters before him. He only recognized 3 of them, but the ponies were completely new to him. It was quite a lot to take in. He looked down below him at his feet and spotted Sweetie Belle tucked into the side of the couch near his feet. He brought them up so he didn't accidentally hurt her and crossed his legs. He caught sight of the pony next to him staring at him curiously. She instantly turned away, as if she was shy. Their attention was drawn to Rarity walking into the room, magically levitating a saucer with her horn. On it were a collection of cups of coffee. She cleared her throat.

"Can I interest anyone in some coffee? It's fresh" she asked quietly, making sure not to disturb the 3 sleeping fillies.

And Fluttershy too.

"Yeah thanks" Silver replied. One of the cups glowed as he reached out to it. It floated into the air and toward him until he was able to hold in his hands. He lay back and took a sip as the ponies all stared in amazement at this simple act. Sonic and Blaze looked at the ponies and then back at each other. They had seen Silver do this a few times yet the ponies were amazed.

"How did you do that? Do you have magic too?" asked Twilight eagerly. Silver smiled back at her.

"No, it's psychokinesis. It's something I've been able to do since I was born" he said, taking another sip. He sighed comfortably. "Good coffee by the way" he added, looking at Rarity. She smiled at this little compliment. Twilight's horn began to spark as yet another cup floated into the air, this time toward Twilight. Like Silver, she held it tightly in her hooves and took a sip. Silver's eyes were widened slightly.

"And how did you do that?" he asked.

"Magic"

Silver giggled a little and sat up. "No really, how?"

"...Magic" she said quietly, with a small grin. Silver looked confused.

"How-" he began before Sonic cut in.

"Don't try and doubt it man. Just accept it" he said. Silver then fell back down on the sofa, sipping more coffee. Rarity then circled the room, offering more coffee to those who wanted it. Shadow reluctantly took a cup with the others helped themselves with a smile. Sonic and Blaze got a cup and Blaze unexpectedly curried into the side of Sonic, like a common household cat. Sonic blushed severely and took a sip, calming his nerves. She'd been acting strangely all day. Rainbow giggled at Sonic's reaction as she took a cup. Rarity got up on her prized 'fainting couch' and lay with her own cup. They all sat silently for a while until Twilight broke the silence.

"So...." she started. Everyone turned to her, putting her on the spot. "...Silver, how did you get here?" Everyone then turned toward him. Silver contemplated for a second, before sitting his cup down on the table next time him.

"Well, I was wondering around your 'present' I just felt like it" he began. Applejack cut in.

"Wha'dya mean 'your present'?" she asked.

"Oh, I'm...uh, from Sonic's, Blaze's, and Shadow's future" he said calmly. The ponies reacted in shock.

"The future?! I've never met someone from the future before!" Rainbow said rather loudly. She still managed to not disturb Scootaloo.

“10 gold pieces says you’ll see something more surprising “added Sonic.

“Done” replied Rainbow Dash and they shook hands. Or hooves.

"The future? What's it like?" asked Twilight.

"Look, the future is fine, but during my walk, a large explosion occurred and I was enveloped in it. When I woke up, I was among some apple tree farm" he finished. Applejack raised a brow.

"...Hope ya'll never touched them apples...." she muttered. Silver smiled nervously.

"I ate one...I was hungry...." he slyly admitted. Applejack groaned silently.

"So you were caught in that same explosion as we were" Blaze added. "I wonder what Eggman was planning" she stared at her cup, swirling it lightly.

"Eggman is here?" Silver asked.

"Yes and Metal Sonic is here too...." Shadow cut in. Everyone turned toward the hedgehog. "And somehow he's pulling in locations from our world; he did that with Speed Highway"

"With Metal Sonic here, I'm surprised he doesn't bring in Stardust Speedway here" Sonic sarcastically added.

"10 bucks says he does" Blaze muttered.

"Done" and they two shook hands. Silver stared at the contents of his cup.

"God forbid he brings in Crisis City..." Silver muttered under his breath.

Everyone sat in silence once more. Until this time, Sonic broke the silence.

"Anyway, we have 3 Chaos Emeralds and 3 Sol Emeralds" he said, clutching a blue emerald. Silver cleared his throat and pulled out 2 emeralds himself. One Chaos Emerald and one Sol Emerald. Blaze's eyes widened at this new found discovery.

"Wh-Where did you find them?!" she asked gleefully. Silver looked at them.

"They were right beside me when I woke up" he glanced over to Shadow, who was grinning.

"Now we're getting somewhere....if we can find the last six, we're in business" he announced.

"Well not tonight" Twilight sat up. "It's way too late and-" she was interrupted by a yawn "-most of us are tired" The yawn spread to Rainbow Dash.

"Yeah, I'm beat. Sonic, wanna sleep at my place?" she asked the blue hedgehog. Sonic gave her a gentle smile.

"Sure thing" he replied. Rarity sat up and turned to Blaze.

“Blaze, it would be a pleasure for you to sleep here for tonight” she offered. Blaze nodded.

“Ok, that’ll be great” she added.

“Silver, if you’d like, I could lend you the couch at my place” asked Twilight. Silver hesitated, yet he accepted.

“Sure” he simply replied. Applejack got up and got her hat off of the sleeping Applebloom. Applejack very carefully scooped up her younger sister and set her on her back. Amazingly, Applebloom did not wake up. With her hat back on her head, Applejack said her goodbyes as she walked out of the door. Pinkie Pie would normally be overactive but even she was sound asleep on her seat. Rarity poked her stomach as she went over to collect her sister. Pinkie Pie woke up startled before being shushed by just about everyone in the room. She saluted as she sped out of the door. Rainbow Dash got up from her sofa, cradling Scootaloo in her arms. Sonic offered to hold her for Rainbow, which she allowed. Sonic picked up Scootaloo and cradled her like an infant. Blaze ‘awwed’ at the sight, as Sonic and Rainbow both beamed at the young filly. They slowly made their way outside into the dark. 

Silver got up alongside Twilight and as if they were in sync with each other, they both levitated their cups and drank what was left together. They sat them down and smiled as they left.

Shadow slowly crept up to the sleeping Fluttershy, not wanting to wake her up. He looked around before looking down at the sleeping pony. He closed his eyes and lightly touched the pony’s back.

“Chaos Control…” he whispered and the two vanished into thin air. Leaving the room bare.

Blaze slowly made her way upstairs and passed some doorways. She passed by a toilet, a random cupboard and a dark bedroom. She stopped as she peered inside. Inside the room, Rarity had set down her little sister and tucked her in, dragging a blanket over her small body. Sweetie Belle looked content. Rarity kissed her sister lightly on the forehead with a smile. Blaze smiled at the act of family love and made her way passed another room, this one being a lit up spare bedroom. She entered and looked around.

Despite it being a spare room, it was still a well-made up room. It had a very comfortable looking double bed and small counter next to it. There was a small mirror alongside a large cabinet.  Blaze sat on it as it the mattress supported her weight perfectly, even bouncing once or twice. With a smile she got up, just as Rarity entered to room.

“Sorry it’s not my best, but I don’t usually get guests” Rarity said. Blaze smiled and looked around the room.

“It’s great, and the bed feels nice so you shouldn’t worry about the quality” she replied. Rarity smiled.

“If you don’t mind me asking, what is your thing with Sonic? You seem rather chummy with him…” she asked nervously. Blaze turned and looked at her, and then at the room, as if she was hiding something.

“Well…we’re just good friends…that’s all…” she said. It didn’t sound true. Rarity smiled, satisfied with her answer and made her way back out of the room.

“Good night Princess Blaze” she said before leaving. Despite not being liked to be called a princess, Blaze smiled at Rarity’s generosity. It’s like she was meant to be generous. Blaze pulled off her clothes with the exception of her underwear and turned off the light. She got into the bed and instantly found a comfortable spot. As she lay there, she thought about the events that occurred, and the dangers that she faced. She also thought briefly of Sonic with a smile, before falling silently to sleep. In the room opposite, Rarity had tucked herself into her bed, hoping this time not to be disturbed by a random stranger wanting emeralds, though she was growing a bond with Blaze as a good friend. She slowly fell asleep with a soft smirk.

“Thanks for bringing our little Scootie back to us” thanked Scootaloo’s mother to the hedgehog and pony at the doorway. She was cradling the still snoozing filly in her arms.

“It’s not a problem, she fell asleep a while ago” Rainbow Dash replied.

“Thanks anyway” she said before turning to Sonic. “Say, are you that blue thing people were talking about?” asked Scootaloo’s mother. Sonic brushed his spines nervously.

“Not me. Evil robotic counterpart. Long story. Bye now!” he replied as he spun to walk off. Rainbow rolled her eyes before waving goodbye to Scootaloo’s mother. She shut the door quietly behind her. Rainbow Dash joined Sonic at his side as they walked through the town. “So where exactly do you stay?” he asked. Rainbow Dash grinned as she pointed to the sky. Among the clouds was a large cloud palace, with a large rainbow arching over it. Sonic gazed at it.

“Oh you have got to be joking…” he solemnly stated. Rainbow giggled.

"Yep! I stay in a house in the sky!" she announced.

"You don't say..."

"Climb on my back and I'll take you up" Sonic hesitated before sitting on her back. Rainbow's knees buckled under the pressure before she steadied herself. "Hold on Sonic" and she flew directly into the air. She was going slower than usual because of the added weight, but still fast enough. They reached the house and Rainbow landed softly on the cloud. Sonic slowly set a foot onto the cloud, expecting to go right through it. He sat his foot down and found it was like standing on really thick carpet. He got off of Rainbow Dash and stood on his own; amazed he wasn't plummeting to the ground. Rainbow made her way into the building as Sonic followed her.

As Sonic walked through the hallways, Sonic felt like asking something. "So, that young pony...is she like your sister or something?"

"Who Scootaloo? Nah, she's a filly who admires me. Shame she can't fly yet" Rainbow explained.

"And yet you allowed her to sleep on your back like a small kitten" Rainbow had to smirk.

"Well...I guess she sees me as a role model, like a sister or something" After that, the two walked in silence until Rainbow broke the silence. "So what's Blaze to you?" she asked. Sonic was caught off guard by this.

"Well...uh" he badly began, blushing slightly. "She's a friend I meet years ago. I don't know why she's acting this way though...” she finished. He noticed Rainbow Dash holding in a giggle and frowned. They reached a small bedroom and entered. It was a pretty basic room. A double bed and a cupboard, not much else.

"Sorry, I don't usually have guests, so I don't usually fix this room up" Sonic seemed pleased enough.

"It's fine, really" he replied. Rainbow smirked.

"Well, I'll leave you to it. Good night Sonic" and she trotted out of the room. Sonic jumped onto the bed, landing on his back and thought to himself. Eggman, Metal Sonic and the possible danger the entire town kept his brain busy. He wasn't worried. After all, this is the hedgehog that has beaten chaos itself, saved the planet countless times and even fought alongside his younger self. He drifted off to sleep, remembering his past adventures.

Rainbow Dash stayed up a little longer. Sonic's words stuck with her regarding Scootaloo. At that point, Rainbow decided that when this was all over, she was gonna teach her how to fly. She made her way into her room to go to bed.

Shadow reappeared in Fluttershy's room, with the pony still sleeping in the same position she started in. Shadow didn't want to wake her up, so he hatched an idea, something he had never done. He picked up Fluttershy off the floor and sat her carefully onto the bed. Stuck in a deep sleep, she didn't stir at all. Shadow subtly picked up the blanket and covered her with it. Being with Fluttershy changed Shadow, he felt...kinder. He walked off to his room, leaving the pony to sleep in peace.

"Thanks for having me Miss...uh" Silver said quietly.

"It's Twilight, and it's not a problem. Sonic slept here last night. I'm sorry it's just a spare bed though" Twilight replied, making her way to her own bed.

"I'll sleep anywhere, and this bed is really comfortable" Silver sprawled out on to it, like Sonic did on the couch the night before.

"Hey Twilight, I've been meaning to ask, you know how you said magic earlier?"

"Yeah?"

"So, can you fly, walk through walls and stuff like that?" he asked. Twilight thought for a second.

"Um, yeah. Pretty much. Goodnight Silver" and she turned out the light. Leaving Silver in the dark, still awake trying to take in everything.

"This world is crazy..." he silently muttered. Twilight didn't hear him as she got into her bed. Silver turned over to his side and thought about the world he was in, and how he was going to get back...

...In the dead of night, a strange metal figure slowly approached the town. He stopped and gazed at the town, remembering his past mistakes, only this time he wasn't alone. Beside him was a pony-like figure. On its back were 2 engines, keeping it flying in the air. it was a metallic cyan colour with a large tail made up of red, yellow, blue, green and orange plates. A similar design was on its head. Alongside Metal Sonic, it had glowing red eyes and no visible mouth. The two stared at Ponyville, their mission to begin in the morning...

Short yes, but I wanted to update it. Also it may be a little rubbish. Haven't done this in a while.

It was an uncertain morning in Ponyville. With the arrival of a random city in the distance, and an attack by a robotic fiend, citizens were cautious as they left the safety of their houses. As the ponies began their daily lives, ponies in construction hats with wagons of electrics and lamp-post parts and began to repair the damage done the previous day. Similar ponies arrived to fill in the hole from Metal Sonic's impact on the ground and others repaired damaged walls. Ponyville was quickly recovering. At the Carousel Boutique, Rarity was wide awake and downstairs, making breakfast for herself, Sweetie Belle and her 'house guest'. Sweetie was sat at the kitchen table, waiting patiently for her meal, aside her being two vacant seats. Rarity finished up, storing away cereals, drinks and other items. Using her magic, she picked up 3 separate breakfasts and set them at the table before turning to Sweetie Belle.

"Sweetie Belle, could you be a dear and waken Blaze?"

"The cat lady?" she replied

"Now Sweetie Belle, don't be rude. Her name is Blaze, not 'cat lady', and tell her breakfast is out" she asked sternly. Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes and left the table, and made for the stairs. Sweetie Belle made her way to Blaze's room and opened the door slowly. In the darker room, Blaze lay sprawled on the bed, and hand hanging off the side.

"Um...wake up Blaze..." Sweetie almost whispered at the statue on the bed. Blaze's eyes barely opened as she stared at the young pony. Sweetie backed away at her piercing stare. All of a sudden, Blaze flipped around to face the wall, ignoring her wake up call. Like a typical teenager. Sweetie Belle frowned as she walked up to the bed and picked up the sheet with her mouth, dragging it off, leaving Blaze uncovered. She groaned and turned back to Sweetie Belle.

"Can't I just have 5 more minutes?" she begged. Sweetie Belle simply shook her head in reply; she grabbed Blaze's clothes and threw them to her.

"Here are your clothes, and breakfast is ready. See ya downstairs!" and Sweetie left Blaze on her own. She got up and stretched, fixing her underwear so it was more comfortable before pulling on her regular clothes. She left the room and made her way downstairs, almost slouching as she did so. Suddenly, the ground shook as she went down the stairs, causing her to stumble....

"...Hey! Silver! Wake up!" quietly yelled Twilight as she stood by his bed. Silver didn't stir at all. "Hey, come on lazy-bones." as she shook him. Suddenly, he yelled and looked around the room in shock, turning to Twilight, who took a few steps back from Silver's outburst.

"WHAT YEAR IS IT?!" he shouted. Twilight shot him a confused look.

"...It's uh..." she began, caught off guard, "...2012"

"Right, cool" he replied with a sigh, holding his head in his hands. "Just making sure. Sleeping in another universe right after time travelling can mess you up...what's for breakfast?" he slyly asked. Twilight just stood there, confused.

"Hm? Oh, uh, we'll go to a cafe if that's uh, ok?"

"Sure. I'm starving", he leapt off his bed and made his way down from the platform. Twilight just stared at him. To her, he was just fascinating. Silver looked around the room, gazing the massive amount of books, suddenly he was interrupted by a soft knock at his back. He turned to see a little dragon, half awake.

"Oh uh, Sorry about that...which one are you again?” Spike sighed. Silver just stared at him.

"...Silver the Hedgehog..."

"Oh ok, just that there is 3 of you", Spike yawned loudly and walked off, leaving Silver thinking about what just happened. At that moment, a loud bang came from the town, Silver turned to the door...

...

"...Sonic! Sonic wake up now! Sonic! Soniiiiiic-"

"SHUT UP TAILS!!"

"...who's Tails?"

Sonic slowly opened his eyes to the pony standing by his bed. She looked awfully confused. "Oh, Tails is just a friend of mine; he's usually the one who wakes me up in emergencies"

"Yeah? Well we might have a problem..." Rainbow muttered. Sonic's ears instantly pricked up...

"He's back!"

"Everyone run!"

"Don't hurt us!" Several ponies screamed in terror as an unfamiliar foe returned to wreck more havoc. Metal Sonic hovered above the ground, staring at all the fleeing ponies. They were of no interest to him. His mission was to locate the Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds. As he turned, he spotted 2 approaching enemies. Sonic and Rainbow Dash walked slowly up to him, Sonic had a confident grin.

"Round 2 then?” he boasted punching his fist into a palm. Rainbow didn't say anything as Metal Sonic just stared at them. Without a word, she flew right at him. Metal Sonic didn't even flinch. Suddenly a cyan blur tackled Rainbow Dash to the ground with a slam, dust kicking up from the impact. Sonic gasped and ran over to her, aiding her before looking at the second assailant...and his face turned to horror.

It resembled Rainbow Dash in many ways, but it appeared to be jagged and much more evil. Made of metal plates, the 'pony' just stared at them with piercing red eyes.

"OHOHOHO!!" boomed a distinctive voice. Rainbow and Sonic looked up to the familiar flying machine. I see you have met my latest creation!" Rainbow looked in terror.

"What...What is that?!" she demanded. Eggman just grinned.

"Meet Metal Rainbow Dash Mark I Prototype! She is made to be your equal in every way. Now neither of you will stand in my way of finding the emeralds!" Sonic and Rainbow Dash stood side-by-side staring at they're robotic counterparts. It was staring at a strange mirror. Sonic grinned.

"That's where your wrong Eggman, there is more than enough of us to take you down!" and as if by magic, Blaze, Rarity, Silver and Twilight ran up to them standing by their side. "And that's not all! Shadow is here as well!” Eggman's grin did not budge from his face. "You’re badly outnumbered. Give up"

"Heh, do you really think you can beat me? Not this time hedgehog! I'll simply pull into a different dimension separating you from anyone who can help you!" From Eggman's craft, a small screen appeared facing Eggman, bringing the attention of the group. "Let's see here...Tropical Resort? Nah....Everfree Forest?!" This brought the attention of the ponies more than anything. "Nah not yet, will have to go there soon...Crisis City?!" The name alone struck fear in Silver's heart. "...Nah...Oh! I found the perfect area!" The screen descended as Eggman held up a small collection of emeralds and slammed them into the console. Blaze stepped forward.

"Return the emeralds! NOW!" flames purged from her body as she yelled. Eggman just laughed at her.

"Oh, but I can't do that. You'd miss my great plan! When I find the remaining emeralds, I will bring chaos to both our world AND this one! I shall build Eggmanland on two levels of reality! DOUBLE THE EGGMAN....uh...LANDS! And now! Let us all be amused by Sonic and Rainbow Dash battling their counterparts, and failing to beat them!" He slammed a button on the console and Sonic, Rainbow Dash and their Metal impostors glowed brightly.

"Oh, not agai-" he started before vanishing. Everyone stared at where they once were.

"What have you done with them?!" Twilight demanded. Eggman kept his evil smile.

"What don't we watch and find out?" he snarled. The screen returned, facing away from Eggman for once. It suddenly re sized itself, becoming bigger. The screen flickered, before displaying an image...

...

Metal. Cold metal. That was all Rainbow Dash saw when she opened her eyes. It was dark; the sky was clouded with lightning striking a polluted city far from them. Among the city's buildings was a giant statue that resembled Eggman. It was like some kind of nightmare. She looked around to see Sonic getting up from the ground but as he looked around the area, his face turned to horror. They both stood on a metallic highway that was all rusted with age, like they were in the future, and a bad future at that. Above them lit up in neon was a sign, it read "Stardust Speedway" with some of the letter flickering out.

"Sonic? What is this place?" Rainbow Dash asked, her voice trembling a little.

"This is Stardust Speedway, a place where I once fought Metal Sonic before when I was younger, and this is obviously the future under Eggman's influence"

"The future? But how?"

"I'll explain later" he replied sternly. As they gazed down the long highway, 2 figures descended from above. Metal Sonic and Metal Rainbow Dash stared them down like a pair of hawks. Rainbow Dash took a few steps back from her own doppelganger.

"Sonic, just what is that thing?” she asked.

"Eggman has done this to me many times, but Metal Sonic is the only one that doesn't give up. Consider Metal...uh, Rainbow Dash your greatest rival. But it's just a bucket of bolts, you can take her!...oh, and you owe me ten gold bits" Rainbow Dash smiled nervously. Metal Sonic again signalled to the two of them to face them, though not in a fight.

In a race.

The two metal figures hovered slowly above the ground before suddenly turning away from them. The blasted down the highway away from them. Sonic and Dash turned toward each other and nodded, blasting away after them.

The highway was just a blur under Rainbow Dash, she was flying at such speed that the rainbows she left was the brightest thing in the highway among the desolate city. It was a bad future, very bad. To make matters worse, Rainbow Dash thought about Equestria's future. Is this what Eggman wanted for her world as well as Sonic's? This could not happen. She wouldn't allow it happen. But the number one thing in her mind was her new found enemy. Metal Rainbow Dash? Doesn't really roll off the tongue.

"Who does she, or it, think it is? Taking my style! Only I can have the Rainbow Dash look! This 'impostor' has got to go!" she thought to herself. She sped up her approach, gaining on her metallic rival. Metal Dash detected her and slowed down to allow her to pass, Rainbow Dash looked back at her. Suddenly, the robot's sides opened up to display a dozen miniature cannons, all aiming for Rainbow Dash. Laser beams shot out of the cannons with Dash barely dodging them all and bolting off to the left with Metal Dash following closely behind her. They flew around like the Wonderbolts on fire, ducking, diving and sweeping. Rainbow Dash stopped and allowed Metal Dash to reach her. Like before with Metal Sonic, Rainbow Dash kicked Metal Dash right on the head, only this time Metal Dash retaliated. After recovering from the attack, Metal Dash darted at her and grabbed her, before slamming her right through the metal highway at such speed that she blasted through it with ease.

Metal Dash let her go and flew off. Rainbow Dash's flying pattern was badly affected. Her wings flatted slower and she swayed a little to the left, like a plane with a damaged wing. "That...that hurt..." she thought to herself. She sucked it up and continued to fly after Metal Rainbow Dash.

Meanwhile, Sonic was running after Metal Sonic, just like old times. No matter what Metal Sonic done, he managed to avoid. However, before Sonic could begin his attack, Metal Rainbow Dash joined Metal Sonic's side, leaving Sonic outnumbered. The two begin to glow with electrical energy as they lined up. Suddenly, they both blasted at Sonic, the resulting blast tripping him up, rolling on the ground before sliding to a stop. He struggled to get back up as the two lowered themselves to ground level; they glared menacingly at him as Sonic looked up in despair. Rainbow Dash caught up with him, but simply fell down beside him. It appeared that they had won. The two met their match...

"OHOHO!!" laughed Eggman. "You see this? The two have lost! Where are your precious heroes now?!" he taunted. The others didn't even hear him. The ponies were too worried about Rainbow Dash to notice and Blaze and Silver the same with Sonic's wellbeing...

"Huh?" Sonic pulled out 2 of the Chaos Emeralds, one cyan, one blue, they began to glow furiously. Suddenly, they began to float above the injured and magically, they were joined by another symbol, a lightning bolt that appeared out of thin air. The four watched as they began to spin around Sonic and Rainbow Dash. Outside Stardust Speedway, everyone watched in awe as it took place, including Eggman whose smile was no longer present.

"What? That's the element of loyalty! MY ELEMENT!" Rainbow Dash shouted. Sonic and Rainbow Dash began to levitate as an aura of blue began to form around them. Their expressions became serious as they faced their enemies. Sonic and Dash began to physically change, but only slightly. Sonic's spines and Rainbow's mane began to stick up on their ends and Sonic's eyes became pink, Dash's became green in turn.

"What?! What is this power?!" Eggman demanded. Twilight stood forward to explain.

"That symbol is Rainbow Dash's element. The element of loyalty. It looks like the emeralds are sharing power with the element...but I've never seen this happen before...." she finished. Back on Stardust Speedway, the metal duo began to slowly fly backwards away from Sonic and Rainbow Dash, retreating from the unknown. Rainbow Dash chuckled silently to herself as they began glow even brighter.

"Hmph! LET'S DO THIS!!" Sonic and Rainbow Dash both yelled. Without warning, Sonic and Rainbow Dash blasted toward the metal duo at shocking speeds. They were boosting together, both of them taking flight with a grin on their faces. The both smacked right into their respective counterpart, taking them with them. They shot up into the air, leaving Metal Sonic and Rainbow Dash floating momentarily with the city in the distance just a dozen blocks below, before the normal Sonic and Dash slammed them back down again, right through the highway and crashing into the ground far below in an atomic sized explosion...

...when the dust settled, all that remained was scrap pieces of metal from the highway and some scattered lights. Though there was no sign of Sonic, Rainbow Dash or their robotic fakers....there wasn't even a sign of impact...

...

"What is this? Where did they go?" asked Rarity aloud. "There is no sign of them at all..."

"What have you done with them Eggman?!" demanded Silver, his hand glowing. Eggman backed away slightly.

"I-I don't know! I don't know that power, or where they are!" he retorted.

"Oh...I think i have a fair idea..." Twilight said quietly, pointing to the sky. Above them and heading straight for Ponyville was a blue meteor, with Metal Sonic and Metal Rainbow Dash still being carried by the blast.

"If they slam into us right here, they might annihilate Ponyville!" screamed Rarity. A small distance away, Shadow watched the falling 'ball' get closer to the town. He didn't say a word as the event unfolded. Fluttershy slowly walked up to his side and watched as well. She looked worryingly at Shadow who simply gave a gentle smile.

"I wouldn't worry. Just watch" he reassured her. The both turned back to the action.

"What do we do?!" cried Twilight. At that moment, Silver's white chaos emerald began to glow furiously alongside a purple emerald. Everyone stared at them as they levitated toward Silver and Twilight. "What-uh...what's going on?" she quietly asked. As the emeralds began to spin, a pink star appeared in the middle of the two and began to spin around them as well. The two just watched in shock as they began to glow as bright as the emeralds, while an aura of white and purple surrounded them. The markings on Silver's gloves began to turns a shade of purple and his eyes turned the same colour. Twilight's eyes turned golden as the pink in her hair turned silvery white.

The two stared at the incoming danger and dealt with it. Twilight's horn glowed and Silver stretched a hand as Sonic and Rainbow Dash slowly grinded to a halt high above them. Surrounding the 4 was a purple and white haze as they were held in place. Despite this, Sonic and Rainbow Dash continued to fly forward for a few seconds before stopping. Silver and Twilight brought the 4 forward to ground level slowly and carefully. No-one noticed that in all the commotion, Eggman had left the group and made his way to a nearby forest.

Everyone could get a good look at the 4 now that they weren't in danger of destroying an entire town. Sonic's spines flopped back to normal, as did Rainbow Dash's mane. Metal Sonic and Rainbow Dash were in very bad shape, and the paint work being burned and scratched was the least of their concerns. Metal Sonic lost an arm and a leg in the blast, and an eye was completely smashed. Metal Rainbow Dash lost 2 legs and a rocket booster from her back. They were let go and Sonic and Dash landed gracefully on the ground while the other two landed with a smash. The glow from Twilight and Silver vanished as the two panted from the strain. Nearby Shadow smiled to himself and turned to Fluttershy. "See? No worries..."

"Yeah your right. Hey, I need to go get something from Applejack's farm, do you mind going with me?" she asked with a smile. Shadow nodded.

"Sure, let's go-"

"And let's walk. Not teleport. That freaks me out a little..." she said quietly. Shadow rolled his eyes.

Everyone gathered slowly around the remains of the two robots, staring curiously. Blaze approached it slowly before lightly prodding Metal Sonic's head. Suddenly, his head darted up with everyone gasping in fright. An eye was flickering as he stared at his pony partner. With his one remaining arm, Metal Sonic grabbed Metal Rainbow Dash and flew off. He glided lazily to the left with thick black smoke blasting from his engine. Everyone's attention turned to Sonic, Silver, Twilight and Dash.

"What did you do?" asked Rarity. Sonic stared at his hands in disbelief.

"I have no idea. I never saw the emeralds act this way!" he replied.

"Well it has something to do with the elements...how are the Chaos Emeralds reacting to them? And do the Sol Emeralds do that?" said Twilight. Blaze looked at her purple Sol Emerald curiously...

"Hey ya'll! What's all this racket?" shouted Applejack. She walked up to the group.

"Hey Applejack, wh-where were you?" asked Rainbow Dash. She was still recovering from her 'transformation'

"Oh, I was at the farm. We found this fox feller and we didn't know what to do with him. Get this, he has two tails. When does a-" she got stopped before she could go on a rant. Sonic stepped forward.

"Where do you live Applejack?" he asked.

"A farm...the only farm around here" she replied.

"Let's go then. I'd like to meet the 'fox feller'” he asked, mimicking Applejack's accent. Applejack rolled her eyes and turned back, the ponies all followed leaving Silver, Blaze and Sonic walking in a line.

"Tails?" asked Blaze.

"Tails" replied the two.
Hope that was ok. MUCH more action packed than the other chapters. I think.

SO MUCH DIALOGUE....this isn't gonna be easy. I apologize in advance if it all gets 'too much' Also, this marks the end of all the main character announcements.

In a sea of trees sat a tall farmhouse. Sweet Apple Acres, the home of Applejack. It was very quiet at the farm, the sound of silence being disturbed by the occasional birdsong and with no-one out at the field, the trees blowing silently in the breeze. Among the sea of green, red and brown were blobs of different colours. Blue, lavender, purple and white and so on, making a beeline for the house. Inside the small kitchen sat a small yellow fox at the kitchen table, looking out of a window. Sat opposite him was a large red stallion, not saying a word. Tails looked at Big Macintosh, in an attempt to make a conversation, he awkwardly smiled.

"So...do you work much?" Tails began.

"Eeyup"

"...Uh, is it easy work?"

"...Eeyup"

"...you don't talk much, do you?"

"Nnope"

"I can see that" Tails sat back in his chair, observing his surroundings. All that went through his head was how it was possible to be in another universe, or how Eggman made it possible. It was all very confusing, even for Tails. All he remembered about what happened was Eggman holding all 14 emeralds and inputting something into a console.

Like he was selecting a destination.

His attention was drawn to the kitchen door opening slowly. Applejack stepped into the room, looking at Tails.

"Hey Tails, we found some people you might wanna see" she announced. Tails' brow raised and got off of his chair hoping to see some familiar faces, like Sonic or Amy. As Applejack stood by the door some unfamiliar faces stepped through. Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Twilight all stepped through, all of them caught off guard by Tails' twin tails.

"Wow, he really does have two tails!" Rarity exclaimed.

"Pretty awesome" Dash added. Tails looked at his tails proudly as they flowed around. Suddenly, more people came through but this time he knew who they were. Sonic, Blaze and Silver all stepped through.

"Sonic!" Tails yelled and ran over to him, giving him a high five. Sonic returned with a smile. "It's good to see you again!"

"You too man. Enjoying Equestria?" asked Sonic.

"Is that what this place is called?"

"Yeah, we've been here for a day or two now" Tails' smile disappeared from his face.

"That can't be good, our universes might merge, like what nearly happened with Blaze's!" he yelled. Twilight stepped forward.

"What do you mean...merge?" she asked.

"Hey relax! We have it under control! Well, nearly..." Sonic cut in.

"Yeah, I heard" Tails looked toward the ground.

"But that's not our biggest question on our minds right now"

"Oh? What's up?" Before Sonic could answer, 2 more figures walked through the door. Fluttershy and Shadow entered the room and everyone stared at them like hawks.

"Hmph, looks like the whole party is here" Shadow mumbled. To his right, a pink blob of energy blasted past him.

"DID SOMEONE SAY PARTY?! YAY!" Pinkie yelled at the top of her voice. Fluttershy leapt onto Shadow's back in fright as confetti rained from the sky out of absolutely nowhere. Everyone stood in silence as Pinkie stood completely still like a statue with a massive open smile.

"What?..." she asked. "Is there something on my face?"

"..How-" Sonic began.

"Don't ask Sonic. Just don't ask" replied Twilight.

"I think we need to sort this all out..." Blaze said silently. Pinkie popped up in front of her,

"But I didn't even get to introduce you guys to my new friend!" Pinkie moaned, shaking Blaze. Sonic raised an eyebrow.

"...A new friend?" 

"Yeah! She's pink just like me! She'll be here any second. Funny thing is, she's a hedgehog, just like you Sonic!" she replied. Sonic reacted back in horror.

"I GOTTA GO, BYE GUYS!" he leapt out the window. Before anyone said a word, a pink appeared in the doorway.

"SOOOOOOOONIIIIIIIIIIC!!!!!!" yelled the pink hedgehog as she ran after him, jumping through the window. Everyone stared out of it as Amy chased Sonic through the fields. Blaze and Tails felt a sweat drop on their foreheads. All the ponies stared blankly, including Fluttershy who was still attacked to Shadow's back. Even Shadow was a little surprised. Yet Big Macintosh still didn't say anything, he barely reacted.

"Ok, everyone? That field in 10 minutes. Rainbow Dash, go get Sonic and Amy. If you can" Silver instructed.

"Got it" she replied as she flew out the window.

"...Doesn't anyone ever use the door?!" asked Applejack with a frown.

...

Everyone sat in a field in the middle of nowhere as the sun reached its peak. The 12 all sat in a circle and Sonic sat as far as he could from Amy, preferring to sit between Rainbow Dash and Blaze. Rarity was almost asleep on the soft green grass, her hail blowing in the wind as she lay next to Blaze. Everyone was in their own little duo; Sonic and Dash, Blaze and Rarity, Tails and Applejack, Twilight and Silver, Pinkie and Amy, and the most unlikely of them all, Shadow and Fluttershy. In the centre of the circle were 4 Chaos Emeralds and 3 Sol Emeralds, with Tails closely examining them.

"So, tell me again, what are the elements of harmony?" asked Tails toward Twilight.

"The elements of harmony are ancient artifacts that all relate to each of us. Kindness to Fluttershy, laughter to Pinkie, generosity to Rarity, loyalty to Dash, honestly to Applejack and I have magic. They have reacted to the Chaos Emeralds in dire circumstances, but we don't know why, and they also effect of you guys depending on which element" Twilight explained. Tails looked puzzled at the emeralds.

"Perhaps they have the same energy as the Chaos Emeralds. As for the Sol Emeralds, there is no reason for them to react the same way. What are the effects so far?" Tails asked.

"Me and Rainbow Dash managed to fly so fast that we were uncontrollable" Sonic replied.

"Also, I and Silver both were able to stop them, our powers became stronger as we were able to stop Sonic and Rainbow Dash..." Twilight added. Tails looked around the group, taking note of the pairs. He got up to talk aloud.

"I think I have it figured out, these "combinations" might have to do with who were are paired with"

"What are you talking about?" asked Shadow.

"Think about it. Rainbow Dash and Sonic are both really fast and Twilight and Silver have similar powers. As for the rest of us, it may all become clear when we use the emeralds" Tails finished.

"I think we should all try it!" yelled Pinkie, picking up a red Sol Emerald. Shadow put a hand forward.

"Don't touch it!" he yelled, but it was too late. The emerald shot up from Pinkies hand as it floated above the group.

"Uh oh.." muttered Tails as a white Sol Emerald joined it. The emeralds glowed brightly as an aura of pink enveloped Pinkie Pie...and Amy. Amy stood up to look at the emeralds as a blue symbol appeared in the middle. It was a balloon, the element of laughter... As Amy and Pinkie's eyes both changed pink, Sonic got up and backed away.

"Everyone, back away from them!" he yelled as everyone followed on. Pinkie and Amy walked up and high five'd each other as they both started to spin violently. As they span faster and faster, the wind turned pink as it whirled around them. Before they knew it, Pinkie and Amy became a pink tornado of destruction, though it didn't move from the spot. Everyone gasped at the sight, the wind blowing heavily around them. The wind began to die down as the tornado faded from view. At the core was Pinkie and Amy, still spinning with smiles on their faces, some dirt and debris fell from the sky, though nothing dangerous. They stopped spinning as they looked at the group, dazed and confused.

"What...what was that?!" demanded Amy.

"THAT WAS FUN!!" yelled Pinkie, "LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!" though two gems fell onto her head. Everyone slowly approached them, unsure if they were going to explode into action again.

"Well...now we know what Amy and Pinkie can do, they wreak havoc on us all" mumbled Rarity.

"No, really?" replied Applejack. Rarity narrowed her eyes.

"Hmph, well I'm interested in what happens to me. Let's see...the white Sol Emerald will do!" said Rarity as she picked up the gem. Like with Pinkie, it reacted to her touch as a purple Sol Emerald also began to shine brightly. The both shot into the air and began to spin. Rarity backed away to Blaze's side who was staring at them. A purple symbol, the element of generosity appeared in the middle. Blaze and Rarity stared at their hands and hooves as faint flames flowed from them. Rarity's eyes turned a feline yellow as Blaze's turned blue. They also took on the most radical change yet. Rarity's mane and tail was flaming at the ends as it turned a more lavender colour. Blaze's hair started to curl with the tips turning white, starting to resemble Rarity's mane. Rarity looked at Blaze's new style with delight. "It suits you!" Blaze turned to her and then back to the crowd, who were backing away from them.

Circling them both were white and lavender flames. Rarity looked at the white flame as it danced around her, and then it hit her...she was controlling it! She was using her magic in an entirely new way. As for Blaze, her flames were massive and appeared to be very powerful as if they were boosted by Rarity. As the flames intertwined together, they both realised they had a very powerful weapon at their disposal. Before anything could be done with them, they extinguished as they both slowly returned to normal, looking at each other in disbelief.

"It appears that Rarity's magic influenced Blaze's power, and vice versa, you both could be incredibly powerful" said Twilight quietly. Rarity was almost flattered by this, while Blaze stood with a hand on her hip in thought. "I think we should wait before we try any more combinations...for the safety of us all of course" Twilight added, grinning nervously. The group stood in silence until they all caught sight of a taller flying pegasus...with a horn. Twilight smiled as she recognized the princess of the night landing before them, with a stern look.

"Afternoon Princess Luna, um, what are doing up?" she asked. Luna didn't answer at first, she was too busy staring at the 6 creatures scattered around the group.

"My sister told me investigate your mission Twilight Sparkle, regarding these "Emeralds" as she quiet busy...who are these...friends of yours?"

"Oh, sorry I forgot to introduce them. This is Sonic, Silver, Shadow, Amy, Tails and Princess Blaze" Twilight replied. With every name, Luna nodded politely, until she got to the final name. She lightly bowed her head in front of Blaze before bringing it up, what happened next caught everyone off guard.

"IT IS A PLEASURE TO MEET A ROYAL FROM THOU DISTANT LANDS!!!" she blasted. The power and volume blasted the wind around them. Blaze held her eyes shut throughout the experience. Everyone's eyes widened in shock including Shadow, whose back got heavy once more as a certain pony clamped onto him.

"What's with the shouting?!" retorted Blaze angrily.

"WE MUST USE THOU ROYAL CATERLOT VOICE IN GREETING OTHER ROYALS!!" she yelled back. Blaze took in a breath of air.

"WELL DON'T BOTHER. IT IS VERY VERY LOUD, DON'T YOU SEE THAT?!" she yelled back loudly, it wasn't as powerful as Luna's but still deafening. Everyone held their ears tightly during the exchange.

"WE MUST USE THIS MUCH VOLUME!!"

"I DON'T CARE!!"

"WELL WE DO!!!"

"FUS RO!!-"


QUIET!!!!


...and all was silent. It was almost like the entire world went quiet. Everyone just stared at Fluttershy who squeaked and backed off a little.

..."Too loud?..."

Luna turned back to Blaze and sighed in frustration. "Fine, have it your way. Anyway, I have also been sent to inform you all that Sol Emeralds have been sighted in the Everfree Forest. We, I mean "I" suggest you all search there" Blaze stepped forward with a kind smile.

"Thank you Princess Luna. We will go there right away" though she said this, the ponies all looked uncertain.

"Farewell loyal subjects!" and with that, Luna flew off.

...

Many monitors flickered frantically as Eggman cycled through menus and options. In a frantic anger. On a nearby work bench was Metal Sonic, in the middle of being repaired while Metal Rainbow Dash was nowhere to be seen, though her blueprints lay on a table. Eggman looked at the 5 emeralds in a case, he studied them for a while before making a decision.

"I'll be sure to distract them from their mission even further..." and he went through several locations, until he stopped at one in particular.

Eggman slammed his fist on a button and it went into action. He grinned evilly knowing he might wind up destroying Equestria without even trying. However, things began to go wrong.

"No! Not that option that gets rid of-!" and the emeralds glowed brightly, particularly the Chaos Emeralds. Eggman shielded his eyes from the light. When it was over, the emeralds were gone. In his fury Eggman slammed his hands on the keyboard and got up. 

"INITIATE PLAN B: PROJECT S.C: D.R.I.O.D!"

...

"Do you think we should ever follow them again?" asked Scootaloo. The Cutie Mark Crusaders were waking alone down a dirt path after another failed attempt at getting their marks, involving a bucket and an umbrella.

"I don't know. After that blue thingy attacked Ponyville, I doubt it would be a good idea" replied Applebloom.

"Hey, you never know when we might be able to help them" answered Sweetie Belle. "Do you guys here something?"

"Like what?" asked Scootaloo.

"Like an engine or something...it's getting louder-"

*CRASH*

The 3 fillies yelped as three little gem pounded into the ground. They all took cover behind a nearby rock, gazing at the objects. They were 3 emeralds. A green, yellow and red one. Scootaloo approached it, studying it.

“Hey, these are the emeralds we found in that city!” Scootaloo yelled. The other 2 joined her, each picking one up.

"I think we should take them back to them. They will surely appreciate it" Sweetie Belle added. The group nodded in agreement and walked off, not noticing the emeralds starting to glow...

NOW UPDATED!!

The sun slowly started to set over Equestria ending another sunny day in Ponyville. However, it was almost like the sun never shone over the Everfree Forest, or it certainly looked like it. It was dark, deep and certainly uninviting. Yet 12 different characters stood by the edge of it. It was the most unlikely group of people possible. 4 hedgehogs, 6 ponies, a fox and a cat, all with different personalities and thoughts on what they were about to do. At the head of the pack stood Sonic and Rainbow Dash, looking deep into the depths of the trees and other plant life. Sonic turned to the group who watched him as if he was a drill sergeant.

"Right, there is an emerald somewhere in this forest. Now we have no idea where exactly, so let's all spit up into 6 separate teams" announced Sonic. He pointed to everyone individually. "Blaze? Rarity? You two should work together, and take these with you" he said, tossing Blaze two of her emeralds, a purple and a white one. "You never know when you two will need to combine powers" he continued, waggling a finger. Blaze returned the waggle with a wink, causing Sonic to blush a little. As Amy watched the conversation unfold, she silently growled at their exchange. As far as she was concerned, Sonic was her own. No-one else’s.

"Oh I hope we can! I never got to control flames before!" replied Rarity. Sonic turned to Shadow and Fluttershy.

"You guys think you can work together?" Sonic asked.

"You bet. Though I am a little, uh scared..." replied Fluttershy quietly.

"Don't worry. You have Shadow with you. You'll be fine. Take these with you" he replied, tossing them a red and yellow Sol Emerald. "We never did find out what happens when you two work together. Maybe you can try it if you need to" Shadow stared at the emeralds curiously, thinking about the possibilities.

"We and Tails will team up as well. Hopefully we can find those gems for ya" Applejack shouted out. Sonic returned by giving them some emeralds. Like Fluttershy and Shadow, they never found out about their combination. They were just as curious as each other.

After organised the rest of the groups, including his own alongside Rainbow Dash. They all entered the forest in separate entrances, ensuring the most ground cover. Amy and Fluttershy were the only ones really reluctant to enter the forest, despite Fluttershy entering it a few times before. The 12 slowly disappeared among the trees and branches and into the darkness...though someone was watching...

"Ok, no. no no no no I am NOT following them into the forest" said Sweetie Belle.

"Oh come on, I've been there before, what are you, chicken?" replied Applebloom.

"No, that's Scootaloo" answered back Sweetie Belle. Scootaloo gave her a look. Sweetie Belle returned a sly smile.

Scootaloo sighed. "We must return these emeralds to their owners. No matter what. So let's go after them" and she got up to go into the forest. Applebloom followed, waiting for Sweetie Belle who reluctantly followed on. As they neared the edge of the forest, Scootaloo stopped momentarily. She stared into the depths of the forest and took a gulp. She walked further into the darkness, as the other 2 fillies followed on...

...

Amy walked through the darkness, scared for what might pop out and scare her. Beside her was Pinkie Pie, bouncing beside with a smile on her face. She turned to the distraught hedgehog.

"Hey, what's up? You scared?" asked Pinkie.

"Well, a little yeah. Oh, I wish Sonic was here!" she replied. Pinkie Pie raised a brow, thinking back to Sonic's interactions with another person.

"Oh c'mon, you have me here with you, and this place isn't scary!" Pinkie reassured her. Amy gave her a smile. "See? That's better! Now let's go and find these emeralds!" she yelled, speeding further into the forest. Amy ran after her.

"Hey! Don't leave me behind!" she yelled after her.

...

Anyone watching from above would see 3 large waving tails walking through the forest. Applejack and Tails walked almost in sync with each other.

"So Tails, why do you have...uh..." Applejack began, unsure if she should even continue.

"The two tails? I was born with them. They actually come in handy" he replied. Applejack smiled as she avoided offending him.

"Oh yea? Like what?" she asked. Tails' tails starting to spin like a propeller as he slowly lifted up off the ground. Before Applejack knew it. Tails was flying around her, circling her several times before stopping in front of her at face level. Applejack smiled happily.

"Well! That's the greatest thing I ever seen a fox do!" She started. "When did you learn t'do that?"

"Ages ago. Back when I was helping Sonic long, long ago" he replied with a kind smirk. Applejack looked at her own tail curiously as an idea sprung into her head. Her tail was as thick as Tails', she could do it too. She spun her single tail as hard and as fast as he could, but to no avail. Tails' watched as Applejack groaned in disappointment. "Sorry Applejack...I think you'd need a second tail to do that" he said quietly. Applejack turned to him with a smile.

"Aw, it's fine Tails. It was worth a try" she replied. Tails landed and walked next to Applejack happily. As they continued walking, they came across a massive gorge in the middle if the road. Connected to each end was a ladder, yet the ladder was broken, both ended blew in the wind against the rocky walls. Rather far below them was jagged rocks and rushing water. There was no chance both of them were going to get across.

"Hm...I could carry you across Applejack, but I doubt I'll make it all the way without getting tired...we might need to find another way across the gorge" mumbled Tails sadly. Applejack brought a hoof to her chin thing about what they should do. They could walk around it, but that would take a while...then it hit her.

"Tails! Let me see those emeralds of yours!" she asked. Tails handed her the two emeralds. As she held them, they started to glow, as she expected. "Maybe our combination will help us out..." she continued. Tails stared as the emeralds began the transformation, a small gem in the shape of an apple appearing in the middle, the element of honesty. And orange aura flowed over the two as they began to change. The tip of Tails' tails turned a shade of yellow, lighter than his fur and his eyes turned green. Applejack's eyes turned light blue in turn as the transformation came to an end. They looked at each other.

"Well, that was anti-climactic. I mean, I barely changed!" moaned Applejack. Tails did not say a word, he stared at Applejack's hind in shock. "What are you staring at?" she asked. Tails, wide-eyed, just pointed at her hind. Applejack turned to look and she instantly saw what he was looking at.

Applejack found herself with two tails.

She yelped into the air and ran after them like an excited dog. "WHAT? HOW? I NEVER FELT IT!" she yelled. Tails just watched with an amused grin as Applejack freaked out.

"Relax Applejack. I see what our combo is. You can probably fly now!" he said. Applejack stopped running around and stopped. He was probably right. She once more looked at her tails, still freaked out by the sight. Like before, she slowly started to spin them, like Tails did. Much to her surprise, he felt herself start to levitate off the ground. She was now a meter of the ground as Tails joined her.

"You know, I feel somewhat stronger now. Maybe that was your influence" said Tails. Applejack smirked as they took off across the gorge. Applejack stared curiously at the ground far below. This is what it must be like to be a pegasus pony. They continued to fly off into the distance.

...

"Wh-where do you reckon they are?" asked Sweetie Belle in ear. Applebloom and Scootaloo were not fairing much better in comparison.

"We're bound to run into one of them at some point" assured Applebloom. "I hope" The three fillies continued through the forest. Scootaloo suddenly turned her head to the right, hearing a noise. As she gazed into the darkness of the forest, a bat flew out, scaring Scootaloo. She screamed and ran behind Sweetie Belle. As she watched the bat fly off, she got up from beside her. Sweetie Belle gave her a sly smile.

"Wow, your really are a chicken" she remarked. Scootaloo growled at her.

"I'm not a chicken!" she yelled back. "...just caught off guard" as she walked with her head held high through the forest. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle looked at each other with uncertainty as they followed her.

...

As they walked further through the forest they finally came across someone. They all screeched to a halt as they gazed in fear at the black hedgehog walking alongside Fluttershy. They didn't know him all that well, and the last time they met him he demanded the emeralds from him. Scootaloo signalled to the other 2 fillies to follow her as they nodded in agreement. They slowly approached the two.

"So let me get this straight, you are in fact ageless?" Fluttershy asked her partner. Shadow simply nodded in return. Fluttershy said nothing, thinking about all the things she was learning about him. Before she could ask any more questions, she noticed three miniature ponies approaching them, each of them with a glowing emerald on their back. "Shadow, look!" she said, pointing to them. Shadow turned to them, looking down upon them. The three looked nervously at him.

"We found these 3 emeralds for you..." Scootaloo whimpered. Shadow said nothing and just stared at them. He raised his hands into the air as the emeralds levitated around him slowly. The three fillies smiled lightly.

"Hm. Thanks. I think we have all the Chaos Emeralds now..." he said quietly. Fluttershy approached the three.

"While we appreciate the effort, you really shouldn't have followed us" she explained.

"Sorry, but we thought ya'll were looking for the emeralds" replied Applebloom softly.

"Well stick with us for the time being-" but before Fluttershy replied, a blue blur caught the side of her eye. She turned to find nothing there. She looked around the area carefully, when suddenly;

"Look out!" yelled Shadow as a blast of energy hit the ground, kicking up debris and dirt and knocking the emeralds to the ground. Shadow shielded the three shaking fillies from the blast as Metal Sonic descended toward them once more. Fluttershy shook a little at the sight as he signalled to them to hand over the emeralds. Shadow held them close to him. Metal Sonic lunged at them as Fluttershy braced herself for the attack...but it never came. Metal Sonic was flying against an invisible barrier created by the emeralds. The red and yellow emeralds glowed furiously as they circled Shadow and Fluttershy. A rather dark aura surrounded them as butterfly shaped gem appeared before them, though it seemed corrupted. The three fillies watched in wonder as Fluttershy began to radically change before them. Her normally pink mane and tail turned jet black as red streaks formed in it. Her eyes narrowed angrily as her blue eyes became red, even her coat became a shade darker. She felt colder, more aggressive than before. This was not the normal Fluttershy anymore, as her her soul felt slightly corrupted. She felt like nothing could stop her in her tracks no matter what. Shadow himself changed slightly. His eyes became light blue and the red streaks in his spines turned yellow. Shadow's heart felt slightly lighter, like a huge weight was pulled from him. Was this Fluttershy's influence? He had no idea. Once the transformation stopped, everyone's eyes were on Fluttershy, who remained motionless, staring at Metal Sonic with a serious expression. It was like Shadow's personality fused with her own.

"You shouldn't have done that..." she muttered under her breath. Metal Sonic didn't move an inch as she stared at him. Shadow just watched Fluttershy as she slowly walked toward Metal Sonic. The fillies shook in fear. Someone they knew for a long time just changed completely in front of them, both in appearance and as far as they knew, nature. Without warning, Fluttershy took to the skies and looked down upon Metal Sonic with rage. Her body swelled with warth as chaos energy built up inside of her. Her heart felt dark, yet somehow retained some heroism. Her arms slowly started to glow with power.

"CHAOS SPEAR!!" she yelled as multiple glowing projectiles darted toward Metal Sonic. He skilfully dodged them as they embedded themselves in the ground. Shadow couldn't believe his eyes as he stood wide eyed and open mouthed. Fluttershy gained all of Shadow's powers, not just his mannerisms or appearance. Metal took to the skies to try and attack her, but it was no use. Fluttershy again charged up. "CHAOS CONTROL!" and with that, she disappeared. Metal Sonic frantically looked around the area in search for her, but as he turned round, Fluttershy was inches away from his face with a punch heading in his general direction. He couldn't avoid it as the hit landed. Shadow decided to aid in her fight and with a motion of his hand, birds from all the nearby trees flew up into the sky, covering up the moon. He gained Fluttershy's ability to communicate with animals, though he used telepathy, rather than voice. The birds of all shapes and sizes surrounded Metal Sonic, picking at him constantly. Despite his efforts to get them off, there were far too many. Shadow called the birds off as Metal Sonic attempted to adjust himself. Numerous dents existed all across his body, alongside scratches. Fluttershy's rage built up once more as she took on a reddish hue. Everything negitive that ever happened to Fluttershy ran through her head. Her torment at flight school, her being pushed around occasionally and being ignored by animals in the past. They all added up.

"Chaos..." she began, letting her rage hit a boiling point.  "...BLAST!!" Fluttershy threw her limbs back as a sphere of chaos energy erupted from her body. The force of the blast was strong enough to catapult Metal Sonic down into the forest below and out of sight. The ground shook violently as the attack came to a close. Everyone remained silent as Fluttershy landed in front of Shadow and the 3 fillies with an evil smirk on her face. She stared at the 4, panting heavily in an exhausted fury, they stared back terrified for their lives...At that moment, Fluttershy began to brighten up again as her hair and eyes turned back to normal. A similar effect happened to Shadow who never really got to use his new powers. Fluttershy's evil smile turned to surprise as she examined herself.

"What just happened?" she asked silently. Shadow barely heard her. He was still comprehending what happened.

"We used our combination...and let's just say to changed more than I did" he replied quietly. The three fillies got up and approached her.

"You were rather scary" mumbled Applebloom. The other two nodded in agreement. Fluttershy suddenly felt self-conscious. Did she allow her power get into her head? Did Shadow lend his attitude to her? The thoughts ran through her head like a song. She shook her head, bringing her back into reality. She gave everyone a kind smile, showing everyone that the real Fluttershy was back.

"I think we'd better find the last of the Sol Emeralds-wait what happened to the Chaos Emeralds?!" Shadow yelled. One of the emeralds was gone, leaving two on the ground. Shadow stamped down hard on the ground. "Where's that damn 7th Chaos Emerald?! he yelled.

"Language Shadow!" Fluttershy replied, reminding him that there were effectively children around them. He shook his head and walked off, with the two emeralds in tow. The 4 followed him, not saying a word...

In a nearby bush, Metal Sonic was re-calibrating his systems. The several savage attacks caused him to effectively shut down, the final blast acting like an EMP blast. He looked down at his scratched feet to a small glowing gem. He had completed one 3rd of his mission at least...even if it was by accident.

The sheer scale of this chapter is pretty damn grand. Hopefully I done it right.

The moon shone brightly over the world like a massive silver torchlight with hundreds of glistening stars among them, though the light did not penetrate the forest roof. The only parts of the forest that were illuminated were the roads that travelling ponies took. Among the darker depths, a wondering pony cautiously navigated the darkest parts of the forest. She felt alone and cold, despite going into the forest with a feline companion. Rarity could barely see a thing except the dirty, grassy floor. Her cold breath was heavy as she wandered in the darkness. Suddenly, a noise cracked from behind her. She stopped in place, her heart beating at what felt like 800 miles per hour. She turned her head slowly and she froze. Staring back at her as a large pair of yellow eyes, she could not see who or what they belonged to.

"AH! GET AWAY YOU HORRID BEAST!!" she yelled, putting up her fists in an attempt to intimidate her attacker. The eyes seemed to shrink a little in reply, as if eye-lids had lowered. Below the floating eyes lit up some reddish flames, trickling from it's hand. Rarity calmed down, she almost forgot Blaze was with her the whole time, and she was not amused.

"Horrid beast am I?" Blaze questioned sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Rarity gave an awkward almost apologetic smile. Blaze continued forward through the darkness, not saying a word to her. Rarity trotted after her, feeling rather guilty.

"I didn't mean to call you a beast Blaze, you're a very nice cat...um..." she pleaded. Blaze turned and smiled, accepting her apology, even though she wasn't even that angry.

"Heh, it's fine Rarity, really" she replied calmly. "Now come on, we need to find the emeralds, if any in here" The two eventually broke through the darkness and back into an opening and onto a dirt trail, leading onwards.

"Just which direction are we going exactly?" asked Rarity. "I feel like we're going in random directions..." Blaze looked at her, she couldn't think of anything in particular to make her feel better as she felt the same way. They WERE going in random directions. She was rather surprised that they hadn't run into another group, like Sonic and Rainbow Dash or Twilight and Silver. Suddenly, almost as if on cue, two figures swept across the sky. "Is that Applejack in the sky?!" Rarity exclaimed. Blaze recognized Tails in the sky, it was no surprise. Rarity examined the flying creature of the sky even closer. It looked like Applejack in every way, yet she had two tails and they had somewhat of a glow to them. Rarity was amazed at seeing her fly, she was almost enjoying the spectacle. Seeing Applejack fly brought Rarity back short memories of flight herself under Twilight's spell.

That didn't exactly end well.

"Come on, let's follow them" said Blaze, walking off in their general direction. Rarity trotted after her. For a while, an awkward silence whistled like the wind between them as they continued through the trail.

...

"I think we're getting closer...Silver? Oh come on! Hurry up!" yelled Twilight. She sighed in frustration as the white hedgehog walked far behind her, looking at his surroundings. He couldn't help it, he was in another world, and the forest felt like another world within the other world. He ran to catch up with her, embarrassed by his slip up.

"Sorry, but this place is incredible!" he explained. Twilight was puzzled by this.

"What make this place to special? It's just a very deep forest..." she replied with a confused tone, though she knew she was sort of wrong. The first time she came here, she learned the true power of friendship and used to stop chaos from taking over completely.

"In my old future, before it was fixed, there was nothing but flames, destruction and terror. But this world is so lively and full of colour, Twilight, you must show me more of this world when you have the chance!" he asked with excitement. Twilight felt almost flattered that someone who was once a stranger to her asked her to be his personal guide through Ponyville and beyond. She nodded.

"Sure! Could be fun" she replied. They walked in silence for a while afterwards until Twilight broke the silence.

"So... suddenly, the ground shook in front of them, like an earthquake. A bright ambient light shone up through the trees...without hesitation, Twilight and Silver took after it, Silver hovering in an attempt to see over the trees.

...

"Hey, what in tarnation is that light?!" shouted Applejack, her tails momentarily slowing down.

"I'm not sure! I think it might be the emerald! But they are not usually that bright..." replied Tails. Tails looked at his hands. The glow was starting to fade. He didn't think much of it at first...and then he remembered Applejack relied on the power. Applejack looked at her tails. Her eyes widened as her second tail began to fade into nothing. As it did she lost height slowly. In an effort to save her from falling, Tails grabbed her hoof, holding her in mid-air. When he did, gravity took its toll on Applejack as she flopped down, her second tail gone.

"Tails! Don't let go! Please don't let go!" she pleaded. Tails struggled to hold on, but he lowered himself slowly to ground level. Applejack looked into his honest eyes as he lowered them down as they turned back to blue. He wasn't going to let go.  Tails struggled more and more as they got closer to the ground. He could carry Sonic a small distance, but Applejack felt slightly heavier. Applejack's feet desperately felt for solid ground and almost verbally thanked Celestia when they did touchdown. The glow around them was all gone and Applejack's eyes turned back to normal, but they turned their attention to the spotlight beyond them as they ran after it.

...

2 blurs blasted through the forest as leaves were ripped from branches and dirt was kicked 10 feet into the air. They were both after the same thing as Sonic and Rainbow Dash almost had a miniature race toward the bright light at the centre of the forest. They came to a wide open clearing as they both aligned themselves side by side as the ground below them seemed to be a blur of green and brown. Joining them was a ball of fire, travelling at the same speed. Blaze ran beside him with Rarity barely clinging onto her back, her eyes shut tight in fear though surprisingly not screaming. High above them, Silver hovered after them with Twilight hanging onto him, similar to Blaze. She looked down and gazed in shock at the speed they were travelling at. 

Coming up fast on Sonic was Shadow, who at first appeared to have new hair with white, orange and yellow blobs attacked to it. On closer inspection, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Applebloom were clinging to his spines, though it didn't seem to bother Shadow in the slightest. Fluttershy flew after him at his side, almost catching up. Applejack was not far behind, running after them at speeds she shouldn't be able to achieve. She even asked how it was possible, and decided to blame it on her recovery from her combination at her side was Tails, his tails being just a blur as they span so fast. Finally, Amy joined them, her famous Piko Piko Hammer in her hands ready to attack any aggressors, bizarrely Pinkie Pie was hopping at the same speed as them, excited as to which direction their adventure could go.

It could be coming to an end for all she knew.

They all ran in a line like a platoon of heroism of all different colours. Blue, yellow, white, orange, white and so on. The multiple colours blended into each other, creating a rainbow of colours at such speed.

The reached a wide circular clearing as all 12 of them skidded to a stop. The bright light didn't let up as they approached. The light was so intense that everyone was forced to shield their eyes from it. As the light faded, everyone got a glimpse of what the true source was.

It was Eggman standing by a large collection of portable panels with lights and buttons all brightly lit up and flashing constantly. In a glass case was 3 emeralds. 2 Sol Emeralds and 1 single Chaos Emerald. Standing attentively at his side was Metal Sonic and Metal Rainbow Dash. But was not the strangest part of the whole thing. At the centre of all the mechanics, panels and screens was what appeared to be a white stone statue.

"Hey! It's that bald, fat, moustached guy!" yelled Scootaloo with a point

"Eggman! Hand over the emeralds!" yelled Shadow. Eggman turned to shock to the army of all shapes and sizes that stood before him. He smiled in manic delight.

"Good to see you all! You all can witness the birth of Eggmanland right here, right now!" He threw up his arms in triumph. Shadow ran toward him in an attempt to attack, but he slammed into an invisible barrier. "Tut tut Shadow! I thought you would know better! This is project S.C: D.R.O.I.D! I will awaken the force I need to take over the universes for myself. This time, Twilight stood forward. Somehow that name made her feel uneasy.

"Project S.C: D.R.O.I.D? What is with the strange name? What is this 'force' you speak of?" asked Twilight. Eggman grinned, almost as if he wanted to be asked that question.

"Good question Miss Sparkle!" he began. "A week ago I picked up on a strange signal that begged for my help. But this signal was somehow unreachable. I took some time to pinpoint which universe the signal came from and figure out how to get there effectively. Obviously I needed the Chaos and Sol Emeralds and obviously Sonic, Blaze and the rest of the sidekicks would attempt to oppose me. Except Silver. I don't know why you are here" he admitted. Silver rolled his eyes.

"Once I arrived, I tracked it down to this point. I just need a few emeralds to revive it"

"It? What's 'it' Eggman?!" Twilight demanded. She seemed almost scared. Ideas ran through her mind. Ancient force? Needs to be awakened? It all began to make sense...then she thought about the name. S.C: D.R.O.I.D. It didn't make sense, and didn't appear to match up to Eggman's plans...

"Witness the revival...of chaos itself!!" he yelled. On cue, the emeralds shone brightly. Not just the ones in the case, but the ones that the group held with them. The emeralds in the case violently broke out of as they circled the statue. The other emeralds soon joined them. Finally, the 14 emeralds were reunited, for all the wrong reasons. The ponies all examined the statue further and turned to explicit worry. It wasn't just any statue, it was a stone prison. Twilight's worst fears were confirmed though she begged them to be just a joke. The emeralds darkened as their power were absorbed into the statue, and they fell to ground like dark, useless stones. The statue began to crack as a black haze surrounded it. The statues strange features began to move as it broke free. Eggman laughed loudly as his plan was succeeding. Everyone just watched  in horror as the stone pieces flaked off and the sound of insane laughter filled the air. The creature gazed at the group with calm evil. It analysed them, recognizing 6 of them for its previous defeats and the other 9 being random 'hang on' companions. It didn't matter to him.

"No! You can't be free!" yelled Rainbow Dash.

"Impossible..." muttered Twilight.

"You see, the emeralds combined are powerful enough to break through time and space, releasing the one you call "Discord was easy enough!" declared Eggman. The creature looked at Eggman with a kind smile.

"I must thank you Eggman for releasing me from my stony prison" it said calmly. Its tone was almost friendly. "As you're reward, you and I will rule Equestria! Obviously you get your world for yourself" it said. Eggman seemed happy with him. Discord turned to his opposition.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Witness chaos in its perfect form!" he yelled. He floated into the air as he began to grow into a skyscraper sized monster. His feet and tail flattened the man made and the natural environment with ease. Everyone stood back to avoid being flattened by him. Eggman got into his Eggmobile and turned to Metal Sonic and Metal Rainbow Dash.

"With me! Now!" he yelled. The three flew off into the night sky. Discord's features changed, where he was more of a dragon, he gained scales. Where he was more of a goat, his horn sharpened alongside other changes. His teeth sharped as he stared the group down...and he let out a furious, loin like roar at them.

Back at Ponyville, chaos had already started as everyone saw the massive beast from a distance. Ponies and Stallions alike ran for their lives wherever they could. At the farm, Big Macintosh stood aside Granny Smith, like they were watching the apocalypse. Further away, Celestia and Luna stood and watched Discord's violent return.

"I don't believe it...it's happening again?" Celestia muttered to herself. Her tone was worried and, for once, scared. Luna turned to her.

"It will be fine my sister. Twilight and her friends will surely know what to do!" she replied, trying to perk her sister up again. Celestia glanced at her, she wasn't smiling at all. They stood in silence for a while, watching as events unfolded. Celestia blamed herself, she should have intervened at some point...

Sonic and Rainbow Dash stood prepared to do battle with him. Everyone else joined him at their sides as they gazed at a different Perfect Chaos. The emeralds began to flicker back to full power as Sonic lifted his arms, almost commanding them to him.

"Everyone! Combine!" He yelled.

"RIGHT!" was the reply he got back from everyone. 2 emeralds per duo spun around each one. Like before, everyone changed. Some drastic, some subtle. Discord watched as his opponents charged toward different parts of his body.

"Pinkie Pie! With me!" yelled Amy as she powered up. They once again high-fived and held on as they started a pink tornado that quickly grew in size. Tails and Applejack took flight.

"Tails! Go for his feet! We can try and trip him up!" Tails nodded as they went for his mismatched feet. They sped up tremendously as Tails and Applejack stretched their fists forward as they knocked into them. Their combined, enhanced strength was strong enough to force him to trip up, Discord fell to the ground with an almighty slam which shook Ponyville and beyond. Applejack's strength really was her addition to the formula. As they flew off, the pink tornado swept over him, smashing him with debris, trees and other even scrap metal. Discord got up from the attack like nothing happened and let out another massive roar. Fire danced around his gigantic head, smashing into him and burning him. Blaze and Rarity were below, controlling the flames movements. The red flames controlled by Blaze appeared to hurt more that Rarity's. Discord lets out more roars like a dinosaur was being alarmed. Defiant, he swatted at the flames and attempted to flatten Blaze and Rarity with his foot...who were then saved by Shadow leading an army of wild animals as he rode on the back of a bear. He sent them to attack wherever they could as Fluttershy threw Chaos Spears at his head.

"Take this! And this!" screamed Fluttershy as she threw projectile after projectile at him. As Discord swatted at her, she kept teleporting using Chaos Control. She seemed to be the first enemy that Discord actually had problems with. It wouldn't be the first time Discord had some kind of trouble with her in particular. He clenched his fists and roared in frustration, blowing her away and clearing away the attacking animals. Suddenly, something new attacked Discord. The Cutie Mark Crusaders were flying into a barrel rolling formation, flying right at Discord's head. The Chaos Emeralds saw them as a possible combination, despite not having an element to relate them to. Applejack looked at her sister in shock.

"Applebloom?! How is she flying now?!" she asked aloud. "It seems like any pony can fly nowadays!" Meanwhile Rarity was watching the spectacle herself.

"Sweetie Belle! What are you doing?!" she yelled at her, hoping somehow she'd hear her. The 3 blasted themselves, full power into his head, knocking him backwards. They flew down to the ground, powering down and crash landing to the ground in a small pile of ponies. They remained silent until, ad mist the pile, an orange hoof shot up.

"THAT WAS AWESOME!!!" Scootaloo yelled.

...As Discord recovered from his hit, a massive collection of trees smacked into the back of his head like a massive baseball bat. The trees were held together by a cyan and purple haze of energy as Twilight and Silver calmly controlled it below, their eyes practically glowing. Discord attempted to break the 'bat' yet the trees held together, as Silver and Twilight used it as a massive, oversized defensive weapon. They held for a while until Discord used his tail to slash through it as if it was plywood. The pieces came crashing down to the ground as Twilight and Silver ran for cover, breaking the connection.

"Hey! Discord! Time for a change of pace!" yelled Rainbow Dash as herself and Sonic sky-rocketed toward him at blazing speeds, aiming right for his chest. Discord could do nothing to stop the blue bullet going for him. They blasted right through him as they flew off. Everyone, whether they were still powered up of not gathered around to watch, hoping for Discord to be defeated. Sonic and Rainbow Dash joined them, everyone powered down assuming their work was completed. Discord remained motionless...until he began to laugh. Hard.

"DO YOU ALL THINK THAT IS ENOUGH TO DEFEAT ME?!?! I AM UNBEATABLE! I AM CHAOS INCARNATE!!" he yelled to the heavens. He began to change again, becoming even more monstrous. His eyes became lizard like and bloodshot, his teeth becoming longer and snarling. Two limbs burst from his sides as he gained another 2 arms, one resembling a deformed hoof, the other a deformed arm made out of spike and blades. As he roared once more, the sky started to crack and change colour as his chaotic influence grew bigger. Everyone began to doubt whether he was beatable.

"We can't beat this guy! He's too powerful!" yelled Rainbow Dash.

"Well...there is one other option..." muttered Shadow with a smile. In his hand he held a Chaos Emerald, throwing it into the  air and catching it. Sonic smiled, he knew exactly what Shadow was suggesting.

"What are you going to do?" asked Sweetie Belle.

"Just watch kid. You'll like this part" replied Sonic with confidence and giving her a thumbs up. Blaze and Rarity joined at his side and Fluttershy joined Shadow. All 14 emeralds surrounded the 6 as a faint light began to show itself. Rainbow Dash enjoyed the sensation. Her entire body felt warm and her heart was at its purest. She felt like her soul was trying to reveal itself. Fluttershy nervously shut her eyes as she started to glow, expecting to turn more evil that before. Rarity simply admired the gems as they span around her, as they became a rainbow of energy. All 6 elements appeared at the centre of the circle before being absorbed into the rainbow of colours. Twilight stepped forward.

"Of course! We all know the emeralds react with the elements of harmony...but what if the elements shared themselves among 3 ponies?" she asked. Sonic, Shadow and Blaze all began to change once more. Blaze held Sonic delicately by the hand as her lavender fur turned pink and bright flames surrounded her. Sonic's spines went on edge once more as he began to turn gold, energy radiating from him. Shadow went through a similar change, as he literally lit up turning a yellowish lemon colour. The three shone brightly as the rest of the group covered their eyes in disbelief.

The ponies began to change as well. Fluttershy's coat also became a lemon colour as her mane turned bright gold with red streaks through them. Around her neck was a golden necklace with the element of kindness at the centre and her eyes turned as red as a ruby. Rarity's coat took on a more golden haze, her mane remained the same shape, yet it became animated as flames licked furiously off of it as it turned pink. Her eyes turned yellow as she shone brightly with energy. Around her neck was a similar necklace with the element of generosity on it. Rainbow Dash took on the most radical change. Her mane turned shining white was her wings spread widely. Her mane flared and waved slowly like Celestia's. Her eyes remained closed as a platinum necklace appeared on her neck, sporting the element of loyalty. And that was something Sonic and Rainbow Dash shared. They shared the unrelenting desire to help other no matter what. She slowly opened her red eyes to the crowd who stared in shock.

"This is who I am. My soul on display" muttered Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy and Rarity said nothing, their expressions serious. Super Sonic barely took flight as his feet almost touched the ground.

"Now we end this" muttered Burning Blaze.

"Let's show him what we can really do!" yelled Fluttershy.

"Let's go!" yelled Super Sonic as the six flew up into the air.

We're reaching the end folks! This is the final chapter. Hope this is a good one.
While writing this, I should warn it may be a little "anti-climactic" or "not very good for an ending" Well, in my blog post, I sort of explain why.

It was almost like everyone in Equestria stopped what they were doing. Residents of Ponyville, Canterlot, Cloudsdale and perhaps beyond all watched the same thing at once, muttering among themselves and spreading rumours about the 6 golden stars in the distance. Even Princess Celestia and Princess Luna watched as the epic battle took place. 

"I should never doubt the power of something I don't know about" Celestia smirked.

"Do you think they will succeed?" Luna asked.

"There is no doubt" she replied back. "The power of friendship has beaten him twice already, so the power of friendship, and those strange emeralds will surely beat him". Luna turned to her sister.

"Do you really know nothing about those emeralds?" she asked. Celestia looked down at the ground for some odd reason.

"Well, I have heard of artefacts from other universes, but they were just rumours. The Chaos and Sol Emeralds were just 2 of them. I mean, I recall rumors of an ancient weapon known as the 'energy sword', Mostly stories." she explained. Luna turned back to the action.

"Still isn't as strange as the story of the red mushroom" Luna replied. Celestia giggled as they watched on.

Thunder, rain and lightning spewed from the sky in the Everfree Forest. Discord's chaos wrecked the general area. The sky cracked and the clouds began to stick together and flash all different colours. The trees morphed into random shapes and they floated and danced around the area as if gravity was merely optional. Discord looked in circles at the 6, blazing figures surrounding him. All of them determined and they were not going to let up, or show mercy. The power the 6 shared was unknown, yet Discord was going to seriously regret trying to unleash chaos once more, even if he had only been release for a short time. He let out another ear-shattering roar into the sky as he prepared to do battle. In response, the 6 figures flew off at lighting speeds in separate directions, up, down, and all around. Discord planted his 4 arms into the ground with an almighty crash. The ground pulsed violently as Discord seemed to 'heal' himself, or at least make him stronger.

"What is he doing?!" yelled Silver.

"He's seeping energy from the ground! They won't be able to do any real damage unless they detach his arms" replied Twilight, her mane flopping around in the rain.

Super Sonic and Super Rainbow Dash broke the sound barrier with ease as they flew into the air. Discord thrust his massive head into the air as many bat-like creatures spawned out of thin air, chasing them down.

"Oh come on, really?" asked Sonic with a sarcastic tone. Most enemies he's face can wreak cities with their attacks. To him, this seemed basic. They separated to divert the trail of enemies as they directed themselves right at one of Discord's arms. A golden streak dashed across the sky as they collided violently into an arm. Discord brought it up and screamed in pain. As he did, the pulses calmed down a little and the creatures seemed to disintegrate, though Discord was not going to let up at all. Using his chaotic powers, he threw orbs of pure chaos at them that chased them down.

"Now that's more like it!" yelled Sonic as the orb chased him down. Rainbow Dash smiled as she made a break for his head, a bright white aura surrounding her body as she blasted toward him. Discord attempted to swat her out of the sky yet she moved to fast to hit. Rainbow Dash, just inches from his head suddenly made a sharp turn upward towards to the sky as the ball of chaos continued forward, colliding into Discord's head. Being hoisted by his own petard, his head bent backward as his horns stabbed into the ground. The ground rumbled as he attempted to break free from the ground. Sonic and Rainbow Dash saw their chance and made their way for his other arm, slamming into it like a lightning bolt. Discord once more shrieked as his head dislodged from the ground and his arm flopped around in the air.

Celestia and Luna were watching very attentively as the fight wrecked on. Luna watched with a child-like fascination.

"This is amazing! They're taking him out like he was nothing!" she yelled. Celestia nodded, not taking her eyes off of them.

As Discord slowly began to recover, his face turned to slight horror as he gazed at another two characters in mid-air. His cold heart shook when the words "Chaos Spear" echoed through the air. What looked like hundreds of gold sharp spears  spun and homed in on his chest. The spears felt like mild prods as they collided in him. What really hurt was Super Fluttershy and Super Shadow suddenly flying up to him, fists and hooves outstretched. The force was enough to detach a 3rd arm ad Discord flinched backward from the impact. For a massive god-like creature, he wasn't doing so well. He roared as reached out to grab Fluttershy and surprisingly, he succeeded. Golden light shone out of the gaps in his hands, yet he managed to contain her. As she attempted to break out, his hand knocked around violently left and right until she calmed down...Discord smiled cruelly as he slowly closed his hands in an attempted to crush her.

"Chaos...." was what echoed from his hands as they started to shake uncontrollably. Finally, his arms were forced open by a massive explosion. "BLAST!" she yelled. Her usually calm and quiet voice raged through the air as it echoed. Discord responded by slamming down on her with his fist, causing her to catapult down to the ground like a stalled aircraft. She crashed to the ground in an eruption of mud and debris, close by the rest of the group, all taking cover.

"Fluttershy!" screamed Applejack at the top of her lungs, thinking her friend may have come to a fatal stop...A gold stream shot back into the air as Fluttershy was not done yet. The ponies cheered loudly as their friend was practically invincible to whatever hit her.

Before Discord could launch another attack on her, 2 massive balls of fire just skimmed the side of his face. Burning Blaze and Burning Rarity floated in mid-air, gathering flames between their hands and hooves. The balls of fire got larger as they finally launched them at him a second time. Discord blocked the blasts with his arms before again launching orbs of pure chaos at them. They didn't even budge as a flaming shield enveloped them. The orbs shattered on impact, like a cloud of smoke. Blaze and Rarity shot out of the smoke and gathered speed as they flew toward him. They quickly became a ball of flames themselves as they knocked into him, dislodging his 4th arm. Discord creamed into the air as thunder and lightning stuck constantly around him, as if the sky was in a same sort of rage. The super heroes all gathered around him as he roared loudly.

"Hey, this is quite easy!" remarked Rainbow Dash. She turned to the unusually bright Shadow, his arms folded.

"It's not over just yet" he muttered.

"Man, let us dream" whispered Rainbow Dash.

"I LOVE THIS POWER!" screamed Rarity as she shot random fireballs in all directions. Blaze put her head in her palm in return. Sonic darted toward Discord, stopping inches away from his face.

"Listen up Discord! You can give up now, and we won't continue our attacks. Or would you rather have us beat you up?" he asked with confidence. Discord frowned and screamed in his face, Sonic was barely blown backwards. "...I'll take that as a no then. Suit yourself!" he replied calmly. The other heroes all blasted toward Discord's face and knocked into it. Discord felt like he had been hit by the moon at the sheer combined speed and force. The 6 shot right through him leaving a bright shining light where he was punctured. Discord covered his glowing wound desperately, as chaos energy spewed from him. This was not all, Discord began to shrink.

"He's getting smaller! Let's get him!" yelled Rainbow Dash. In rapid succession, the 6 bolted back and forth, knocking hits into him in a golden frenzy. It was like a dance as they smacked into him. He constantly shrunk as beams of energy spotlighted on the ground and the sky.

"It's over" announced Celestia with confidence. She turned to her sister, sipping out of a cup of tea. She was enjoying the 'show'. So was everyone else. Citizens of Equestria all around all 'oood' and 'aahhed' as the fight neared its climax. Even the other heroes came out of their cover as Discord seemed much less of a threat. Balls of chaos spewed from him in a desperate attempt at attacking them, but it was no use. After a few minutes of attacks, Discord was back to his regular size. The rain stopped and the world slowly turned to normal... The 6 landed gracefully on the ground, energy still radiating violently around them. Discord threw his fists around in fury.

"I WILL NOT GO DOWN THIS EASY!! I WILL-oh the heck with it, just do the final attack already" his tone suddenly changed. He could not be bothered being beat up anymore. A small target appeared on his chest. "Fire when ready" he muttered loudly. He crossed his arms and shut his eyes. For someone who was about to be defeated, he was very calm about. Led by Rainbow Dash, the 6 arranged themselves in a circle formation. The energy around them gathered up enveloping the 6 until Dash gave the final order:

"CHAAAAAAARRGEEEEEE!!!!!!!!" she screamed. The 6, bolted right into Discord in a golden, flaming streak. Upon impact, a shock wave shot out of them. The blast was a spectrum of every colour under the rainbow as it formed a mushroom cloud of rainbows. The blast blew trees, debris, and everyone else backwards violently. Tails managed to battle the winds using his twin tails, only managing to hold Applejack back alongside him. Ponies in all towns and cities gazed in wonder and excitement at the Super Sonic Rainboom as it swept across the sky, before struggling against the wind. The blast even reached Celestia and Luna with the strong sudden wind blowing tea into Luna's face. Celestia giggled  at her sister’s un-amused face as she wiped it off her. When the wind settled, the sky was clear as the night sky should be until the sun slowly began to rise over the horizon. Everyone recovered from the blast as they gazed at the ultimate result.

The 6 returned to normal. The ponies gazed at their hooves in wonder with Rarity attempting to replicate her flames. Everyone gathered around what was left of Discord. A small stone statue, with Discord's expression of pure horror once more. He was trapped for hopefully the final time. The group cheered for their success as the sun brightened up the sky once more....

..."So, what now?" asked Rainbow Dash.

A parade was held in Ponyville the very next day, organised by Pinkie Pie of course. Confetti rained from the sky as a marching band wandered through Ponyville's roads. Above them was a banner reading "TO OUR HEROES!! SONIC, BLAZE, SILVER, SHADOW, AMY AND TAILS!!" in crayon. Above each name were crude drawings of each of their faces done by the fillies of Ponyville. The 6 of them walked through the town, waving happily at each and everyone one of the ponies. Sonic took particular note of a grey pony with a yellow mane waving cheerfully, though her eyes didn't seem to focus on him completely. Blaze walked hand in hand with Sonic signing several notepads held by ponies and fillies alike, all clamouring for her autograph. Silver and Amy also participated in the parade, holding hands like Sonic and Blaze did. Apparently, it was Silver's idea. 

Shadow watched from a rooftop as they walked past. He still didn't smile despite the almost universal praise he got. Fluttershy lay at his side.

"Why aren't you with them?" she asked softly.

"Publicity is not my thing" he replied, getting up. "I'd rather stick to the shadows" he said as he jumped off the rooftop, away from the parade. Fluttershy followed him. Flying above the parade, Tails flew happily alongside Applejack. Most ponies looked confused at Applejack being able to fly, especially the pegasus ponies in the crowd.

Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Pinkie Pie and Rarity also paraded through the town. Rarity attempted to look 'glamorous' wherever she could, whenever she could. Everyone else simply smiled and waved as the crowds chanted their names loudly after another successful adventure. Rainbow Dash flew up and up to Sonic to speak with him.

"So Sonic, you gonna stick around for a while?" she asked hopefully. Sonic shot her a sly grin.

"I think I might!" he replied. Dash smiled happily. He was genuinely the closest person she knew that was like herself. Adventurous, daring and most importantly, fast. The only person she could think of that would be any closer to her would be herself.

But what were the chances of that?

Eggman slammed his fist constantly on the keyboard. his plan had once again, failed spectacularly. Though in his rage, he forgot another, emergency plan. He battled with himself whether he should use it. He glanced at Metal Sonic and Metal Rainbow Dash who were deactivated and immobile on a stand. His trademark evil smile returned.

"You know what they say! THE MORE THE MERRIER!!" he laughed to himself as he selected another new, more 'ambitious' plan.
