> It's just a bit of fun > by Fret > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Warm-Up > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight sat in her new room, which seemed to be made out of crystals, surrounded by piles of books. Her eyes carefully scanned each word on every page, taking everyone one of them into her knowledge. To keep herself concentrated, she blocked out any action happening around her. Not even someone's loudest call was about to make her lift her head up from her book. She wanted to finish all these books as soon as she could, and she wasn't about to waste one second- "GAH!" She yelped as she felt a talon tapping her. Twilight looked around drastically to whom it was who had caught her attention. "Discord?" She gasped in surprise. "Why are you here?" The draconequus shrugged. "Pfft, I don't know. I thought we were all friends now, can I not pay one of my best friends a visit?" He sadly pouted, half of him wanting her to see the amusing side to it, the other half wanting her to be annoyed. "Yeah, I know." Twilight replied calmly, to Discord's surprise. "But as you can probably tell, I'm quite busy right now." She turned to the piles of books that sat on either side of her. This caused him to give an amused scoff. "Twilight Sparkle, you're always reading, do you ever take a break?" He gave a smirk, taking out a book from in the middle of the pile so he could look at the cover. It didn't surprise Twilight that the books didn't give into gravity and tip over, instead stayed in place in mid air. "I thought your library got destroyed. Where did you get these?" Twilight breathed out. "Please Discord... don't talk about that." Discord looked at her and cringed. "Sorry... I'm still getting used to being supportive." It wasn't often he laughed at himself to cheer somepony else up. "It's fine. But anyway, some of these books are from Celestia, and some of them are from her and Luna's old castle." She answered, gleaming. "They're just too interesting!" Discord rolled his eyes. "Why would Celestia send you books to read?" Twilight looked up at him. "Just because I'm not her student anymore, doesn't mean she can't give me studies. Considering, I still like studying." "Books is the best she can do, huh?" He snorted. "Your point?" Twilight raised a brow. "I would expect Celestia to be less formal with her former student." He folded his arms, grabbing books from the pile with his tail to glance at their titles quickly. "She isn't being formal. I just really like studying." Twilight gave a mocking chuckle to herself and went back to reading, only to be interrupted again by Discord teleporting in front of her, this time lying down on the floor to keep at her current height. "But at least I know you have a fun side. Heck, even your sister-in-law can be fun to mess with sometimes." "You've only met her once." Twilight replied flatly. "Yeah, exactly. I tried to mess Cadance's day up, but she still found it amusing! Celestia however, never finds fun in things." He gave another annoyed pout. "I play a prank on her and she'll just glare at me." Twilight blinked, not knowing what to say. "Well... I doubt she won't find your antics annoying if your only aim is to annoy her. She is the princess, after all." She stated. That's when Discord sparked an idea. "You know Twilight Sparkle? You're right. I should try a different method to loosen her up." He stood up confidently, as a random light started shining in the background with him standing in front of it. "Finally, I can break out of my boredom!" His idea made Twilight spark with worry. "Uh... maybe that's not such a good idea... if you're bored, why not go hang out with Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie?" She suggested. "Why do you think I came here? Fluttershy's busy with shopping for boring animal stuff, and Pinkie Pie is smart enough to not trust me with those two foals she's foalsitting." He shrugged. "But really, thanks for the idea Twilight. I'll give you some credit if Princess Celestia asks!" With that, he snapped his talon and teleported away. "Wait what about Rainbow- UGH!" She put a hoof on her face, then, annoyed, went back to reading. --- Celestia sat on her thrown as she levitated a quill, and a pile of documents. It only took a quick scan of her eyes to know whether something was worth signing or not. And so far, after hours of reading, she hadn't signed her name on anything. And yet, this was part of her daily routine, and she was used to it. Once she had finished going through the pile in front of her, Celestia set them down on her 'useless documents and dumb complaints' pile. "May I have the next set of files please?" She asked Raven, whom managed all her paperwork. "There is no more, your majesty." She looked to her side and pointed out the empty space. Celestia would of sighed with relief, but she didn't want to show her boredom. "Looks like I arrived on time then." Came a sudden voice that made her heart drop. She gave out a quite groan, and looked for the draconequus. It was when Celestia looked forward, she found him. Discord stood on the edge of her thrown with a smug look. "Discord, I'm not in the mood-" She began, only to be interrupted by her royal guards. "The Princess is not be disturbed." "We will have to ask you to leave." Discord looked at the two stallions who pointed their spears at him, then gave an irritated sigh. He snapped his lion paw, and they both disappeared. He found it funny how Celestia didn't even gasp in shock anymore, just glared at him. "Discord... where did you send them?" She asked, already sounding fed up of his antics. But oh, he was just getting started, she knew. "Don't worry, I didn't send them to the Arctic like last time, they're just in the middle of the labyrinth." He tilted his head to the maze outside. Celestia had to admit, since the prank was harmless, it was quite funny, but she wasn't about to laugh. "Please bring them back..." She sighed. Discord tapped his chin for a moment. "Eh, they can bring themselves back." He shrugged. He turned back to her, and noticed she wasn't on the thrown anymore. Discord hovered over to her as she walked through the thrown room. "Where are you heading off to? I thought you had a job." He grunted. "Well, I need to eat at some point of the day, and I just finished." She answered, not looking at him. "Let me guess. You didn't sign anything." Discord floated slightly ahead of her on his back. Celestia looked at him and raised a brow. "Have you been watching me all these hours?" Discord snorted. "Why in Equestria would I do that? No, I just got here actually. But you're just so predictable. Even you should know this by now." Celestia rolled her eyes. "Just tell me why you're here." She grunted. "Oh yes! You see, all my friends seem to be busy with something or other. Then Twilight gave me this great idea. You see, being a princess means you have to be so formal. Or in other words... so boring. I think it's time you loosened up a bit." Celestia stopped in her tracks. "Twilight said that?" She snorted disbelievingly. Then, one second after that, a letter teleported in front of her. She picked it up off the ground and read it out loud, "Dear Princess Celestia, I swear, if Discord's annoying you right now, it's so not my fault! I mean... it is kinda... but I didn't mean for him to annoy you! You're faithful former student, Twilight Sparkle. (P.S, I have no idea what Twilight's talking about, I'm just writing down everything she says. - Spike)" "Told you." Discord smirked, while Celestia just gave another irritated sigh. She teleported the letter away, then carried on walking to the dining room, paying no attention to the draconequus following her. Celestia noticed that Discord wasn't going to leave any time soon, and she wasn't sure how the workers, or Luna, would react to Discord erupting any sort of chaos among the table, even if it was just her and Luna at the table. "Um... please behave Discord..." She said to him awkwardly. Discord looked at her in surprise. "The last time I paid you a visit was before Tirek. This is me after Tirek!" He posed in front of the princess by spreading his arms on both sides of him, and making sure there was some sort of spotlight above him. Celestia just gave him one of her unamused looks. "So what's changed?" She simply said, half snickering as she did so. The spotlight disappeared and his two different limbs flopped on his sides. Discord gave a disappointed look. "I'm less arrogant and selfish." He reminded her. Celestia didn't reply, just gave an 'oh really?' stare. She opened the large doors with her hooves, and spotted her sister already sitting down at the table. "Hello Luna." She greeted her. Luna gave her a friendly smile, but then sighed. "What's wrong?" Celestia asked, sitting next to her. "Ugh... Prince Blueblood is apparently joining us this morning..." She muttered. "Let me guess... he got band from his other eating group again didn't he?" "Something like that." Luna shrugged. Celestia gave a distressed sigh, until Discord's voice rang in one of her ears. "Leave it to me, princess." At first, she wondered why she could only hear him in one ear, then she realize Discord had re-sized himself so that he was tiny, and was hiding behind her crown and hanging on to her left ear. Usually, she would of scolded him to not try anything, but the thought of Discord pulling one of his pranks her spoiled nephew made her giggle. "And just what are you laughing at?" Luna looked at her curiously. Celestia put a hoof over her mouth so she stopped giggling. "Oh... you'll see." As soon as she said this, the two doors once again opened, to reveal a smug Prince Blueblood, whom walked with his head high towards the table. Luna snorted silently and rolled her eyes, and Celestia heard the tiny Discord on her head groan. As he walked towards the table, a waiter pony came with a tray that held three drinks. With his horn, the pony set each glass in front of each pony. Celestia and Luna gave him a thanks with a nod, but Blueblood stood next to his chair. The waiter looked at him awkwardly, not knowing what he wanted. The prince coughed, and tilted his head to the tucked in chair. The stallion took the hint, then, irritated, used his horn to pull the chair out for him (without a thank you). Just before her nephew sat down, Celestia heard a tiny snap, and knew something was about to happen. Prince Blueblood sat down on his chair, still smug, but as he did, the sound of him breaking wind broke out in the room. When this happened, Luna slammed her hooves on her mouth so that she didn't burst out laughing. But when the spoiled stallion starting blushing out of embarrassment, the Princess of the Night fell back on her chair in a laughing fit. Celestia tried to contain herself, but the urge to at least giggle was too much. Eventually, she was almost laughing as much as her sister. "I command you all to stop laughing!" Blueblood spat, still blushing, which was now with both embarrassment and anger. Luna found the strength to pull her self up from the floor, using her horn to pick her chair up so she could sit back down properly. Celestia took a few deep breaths so she could calm down, but managed to make herself stop. "Just bring me my lunch, and I shall leave this cursed dining hall." He yelled to the kitchen. "They better be quick as possible." Discord whispered into Celestia's ear. She gave a huff of amusement in reply. A few minutes later, the waiter came back, this time with a tray with each of their lunches. He set Luna's and Celestia's plates in front of them first, and they both nodded a thank you, but he just got a disgusted huff from Blueblood. "Oh, I just got the best idea." She heard the draconequus whisper excitedly, hearing another snap of his talons. Just before Blueblood took a bite of his food, Discord swapped his hay bunch with what looked like an apple fritter. This confused Celestia at first, but when Blueblood took a bite, and immediately spat it out, she understood. "Why is this vile piece of country food on royalty's plate?" He gasped. "If you don't eat it, I'll do the honors." Luna told him. Blueblood willingly pushed his plate towards her. "There's nothing honorable about disgusting countryside food. I'm leaving this place." He announced, trotting angrily towards the door. "One more." Discord snickered. As Blueblood reached to opened to door, it suddenly became alive and slammed open, swinging him around to hit the wall. The door once again became inanimate, and Blueblood flopped forward onto the floor, his eyes rolling around dizzily. He clumsily stood up, then stumbled out of the room. With just her and Luna (and Discord), Celestia then started to cackle madly. Luna gave her a suspicious smirk, then interrupted her. "Was that your doing?" She asked. Celestia stopped her laughter, and wiped a tear from her eye. "Not really." She assured her. --- Celestia watched as her little sister trotted to her bed chambers to rest before she started her night shift. That's when Discord teleported in front of the white alicorn, this time in full size. "Admit it, that was hilarious." Discord looked at her smugly. Celestia sighed, defeated. "Must I even tell you? I was cracking up." She admitted, running her hoof up her leg. "See, not even you have to be so serious all the time." He said, using his talon to make her pout. Then he grew a disappointed look on his face. "But of course, this was a one time thing. You definitely wouldn't repeat anything like that on the rest of your duties today." He slowly said, giving her a look she knew. It was his 'I know you want to' stare, and he was right. "I take your hint. Fine, I'll be as not-formal as I can for the rest of the day." "Woah really? My mind is blown!" He gasped, as smoke started coming out of his ears. He then handed the princess a water pistol. "I think you better put it out." Celestia levitated the water gun, wondering what to do with it. "Alright you asked for it." She sighed, regretfully. "Wait, what are you gonna do with-" Before he could finish, Celestia set the water pistol in line with his ear, then squirted. Discord yelped as the cold water darted inside his head. "You said to put it out. Should I squirt the other one?" She teased. "No... really, that felt weird. In a bad way." Celestia chuckled to herself. "You're the one who got me into this." She retorted innocently. That's when Discord got another one of his ideas. "Tell you what Celestia. You can go back to your duties, but beware. I may be pulling a few pranks that you'll have to avoid." He put some shades on as he said this. Celestia thought about it for a moment, then breathed out. "Alright. Just don't go over the top." She warned him, before leaving him to go to a meeting that was scheduled for a few minutes. "So I'm having fun with Celestia. Something not even I expected." He chuckled to himself, before teleporting off the where she was heading. --- The past hour, Twilight had finished reading three books, now moving onto her forth. She levitated the next book on the pile towards her, and was about to open it, when... "Twilight?" A soft voice came from the entrance to her room. She gasped in surprise, then calmed as she saw Fluttershy standing there. "Hi Fluttershy, I'm quite busy right now, so this'll have to be quick." She told her. "Oh, okay. Spike told me you knew where Discord is. Pinkie Pie said that she thought it'll be nice if he joined us on our baking session." She said quickly. "I thought Pinkie was foalsitting?" Twilight asked. Fluttershy shook her head. "Mr. and Mrs. Cake came back early. Pinkie's free and I think I've done enough chores for today." "Oh... well Discord's went to Canterlot to annoy Celestia or something like that." She gave an annoyed snort. The yellow pegasus tilted her head. "Are you sure he went to annoy her?" There was something in her voice that Twilight couldn't recognize, but she didn't want to waste time finding out. "Well... he said he wanted to 'loosen her up', to be clear." "That makes more sense." She gave a cute smile. "Thanks Twilight." With that, Fluttershy trotted down the hall. "Your welco - wait, what do you mean by making more sense?" She called after her, but getting no reply. --- > As You Wish > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celestia arrived just in time for her meeting with her fellow monarchy. She spotted the last empty seat in the room, trotted towards it. "Sorry to keep you all waiting." She nodded to them all as she apologized. Nopony answered her, but to her relief, none were angry or annoyed. As always, the meeting started with one of the ponies setting a pile of documents in front of them, so that they could start to read out the reports on each city and town of Equestria. This included Canterlot... Ponyville... Manehatten... all of them. And the speech lasted sometimes a whole hour. Or over. She never actually counted, just estimated after the whole meeting was over. The mare moved her glasses up her muzzle, and began her ever-so-long lecture. Celestia got ready for it, drinking coffee from the mug given to her moments ago so that she could keep her eyes at least half open. Ten minutes in, only Manehatten and half of The Crystal Empire's reports were finished with. And yet already Celestia was drifting off. She hadn't really been listening to any of the tiring lecture, she never did. Somehow she always got away with it. Then, just as she thought it couldn't get any worse, a reptile tail with a fluffy tip slipped a note on the table. She glanced at it, reading it's words. 'Look down.' The princess blinked, then slyly looked down on the floor. She spotted two yellow eyes glaring up at her. Celestia mouthed a 'what?' at him, and in reply, Discord grabbed something from underneath him, then showed it to her. Since the draconequus was under the table, it was hard to tell what it was in the dark. But then she made out the shape of a fan. Celestia gave him a confused look, not knowing what he was trying to tell her. Discord took the hint, then held the fan in his talons, and poofed up some paper in the other. He didn't switch the fan on, but he was nudging it toward the paper. He looked up to her and smirked. However, it wasn't the 'you mad, Celestia?' smirk, it was rather his mischievous 'are you in' look. Celestia could guess why he wanted a team-up. Both of them were bored to death. And she knew what he was saying. Though, there was a flaw in his idea, so she took the piece of paper he had given her and wrote on the back, pretending she was taking noted on the documents. With her quill, she told him, 'They'll notice the fan. How do you expect to do that?' Discord motioned for her to pass down the quill, as she did, then he wrote on the little space there was left on the piece of paper. 'Fan = Wind' Celestia nodded in realization of her powers to control the weather. Casually, the princess used her magic to pick up her mug (which was actually empty) so that her glowing horn was no excuse. She ever so slowly moved the mug towards her mouth, making sure no one realized she was focusing on creating a strong breeze in the room. As she did, she grew all the more confused on why exactly Discord had changed the deal of him pranking her in situations like this to helping her become amused. "And moving on to Ponyville, according to the Mayor Mare, things have been going well ever since Princess Twilight-" The mare was interrupted when the pages in front of her started blowing chaotically around the room, along with a lot of other paperwork. While everypony started to try and catch everything midair, Celestia stayed sat, giggling to herself. She wanted to thank Discord for the idea, but when she looked down at the space he had originally settled, it was empty. Celestia blinked in confusion to why he would want to miss this, but shrugged it off. Then she looked back up, and realized everypony was staring at her. At first, the alicorn was confused/ "Princess, that was not acceptable." Said a mare. "This is no time for your silly antics. If you're oh so bored, you might as well leave." Celestia's heart felt thick with guilt. The room was now a mess, thanks to her. She sighed, and slowly walking towards the door. She exited the room, and shut the door silently behind her, only to meet Discord cracking up in front of her. Celestia straight away figured it out. "Oh... that was priceless!" He breathed as he tried to get up from the floor. "I can't believe you fell for that! Celestia just gave a frustrated groan. "Very smart." She commented. "Why thank you, I appreciate it." Discord huffed, standing up straight. "Great, now I don't have anymore duties for another hour." Celestia mumbled. Discord tilted his head. "Why is that a bad thing?" Discord scoffed, putting his lion paw around her neck. "If you ask me, we can carry on with this game a lot easier." The alicorn took a few moments to think, then she gave a mischievous grin. "You're right. I think I'll start with going through some of my letters I was saving to read for later." With that, she disappeared. Discord knew exactly where, she had went to her room. And he had the perfect plan. --- Five books down... Celestia knows how many to go. Twilight pulled the sixth book towards her, and opened it to the first page. She was about to go into concentration mode when... "Twilight!" Discord appeared in front of her, a grin spread across his face. Twilight looked up in annoyance. "What is it now Discord?" She sighed. "And why are you here? I thought you were teaching Princess Celestia about fun or something." Discord just chuckled. "Even better. We're playing a game, we have to try and catch each other out on a prank. So far it's one to me, nil to her. Ha... I'm still laughing at her reaction. You should of been there, it was hila-" "Get to the point." Twilight cut him off, wanting to get back to her reading. "Well, I basically managed to get her kicked out of her own meeting, so now she's-" "Wait, you what?!" Twilight exclaimed. The draconequus rolled his eyes. "I thought you wanted me to get to the point." "Oh... right. Carry on then." She grinned awkwardly. "So yeah, now she's reading through letters and boring stuff like that, and I need your help." Twilight glared at him, was he serious? She was going to help him with his stupid antics when she should be studying? "Depends... what is it you want me to do?" Twilight shut her book, still uncertain about his immature plans. "Well, I need you to send her some letters." He told her in a quieter voice, leaning close to her ear and blocking his voice from reaching any further than the two of them. "Letters? Why exactly?" This was getting irritating. She just wanted to get back to her studies. Discord cackled before explaining. "I just want you to annoy her by sending her a bunch of questions that you could easily work out as a filly about these books. Really, it will drive her nuts!" He clapped his talon and paw together in anticipation. Twilight, on the other hoof, just raised a brow. "Why should I help you annoy her?" She snorted. "Don't worry... after the joke's over I'll tell her it was me who did it." He answered grimly. Twilight scoffed, then smirked. "Pinkie promise." "What?" He flinched back. "Pinkie promise you'll tell her that and I'll help you." She grinned mockingly. Discord glared at her, irritated by her ridiculous request. "No. I'm reformed, but I'm not doing something that girly and cheesy." He turned away, and folded his limbs. "Alright... I guess I won't help you then." Twilight sighed slowly. Discord looked at her, then moaned. "Fine..." He snarled. "Cross my heart and hope to fly," His lion paw did the motions across his body. "Stick a cupcake - " For this, he decided to hold up and actual cupcake. "-In my eye." With that, Discord splattered the small cake on one of his eyes. This left a pink icing stain on half of his face, and it actually made Twilight gave an amused huff. "Alright, I'll get Spike." She sighed, trotting out of the room. Discord cheered silently to himself. "Great, I'll be at Canterlot, watching Celestia loose her mind!" He beamed. "Oh, and Twilight," The lavender alicorn turned around to face him. "Yeah?" "I'll make it up to you... somehow." He told her, not really sure himself if he was serious. He then snapped his lion paw and disappeared. Twilight just rolled her eyes. "I wonder what that would be." She murmured. "Spike, where are you?" She called down the halls. --- Discord appeared right above Celestia, without her noticing, that is. He hovered over her, pressing himself against the ceiling. Patiently, the draconequus waited for the first letter to appear in front of her. In fact, Discord was curious to what Twilight would send to annoy her former mentor. He grabbed the end of his tail with his talon, and pulled it up to him. What used to be a fluffy tail tip was now a magnifier lens. He got it ready so he could see the letters clearly. After a while, a greenish smoke appeared in front of her, and out from it appeared a rolled up letter. Celestia looked at it in surprise, and opened it up with her magic. Discord hovered the lens over his eye that used to have icing splattered all over it. 'Dear Princess Celestia, What does this following term mean, 'Levitation requires unicorn strength. The larger the object, the more power it requires.' Really, what does it mean by 'unicorn strength'? I thought earth ponies were the ones with the strength... are we like the master race or something? -Twilight Sparkle P.S, Really, I don't know what's up with Twilight today. I swear, I did nothing to her! -Spike' Discord quickly covered his mouth so he didn't even give out a chuckle. But that wasn't going to work, he had to literally zip his mouth shut. And that's just what he did. Celestia stared at the letter for a moment, and tilted her head. She picked up a blank piece of paper and started to write. 'Dear Twilight Sparkle, If you recall back to your early studies, you'll remember that the term 'unicorn strength' refers to a unicorns ability to use magic. Earth pony strength is different. And no, unicorns are not the master race. Please, don't be racist. -Princess Celestia' Discord wanted to laugh at the fact that she actually replied to the racist part. Celestia sent off the letter, and sighed. Though, it didn't take her long to get a reply. She became more confused over this. Again, with her magic, she opened it up. She an Discord both read it. 'Dear Princess Celestia, Woops! Sorry, I forgot. Alicorns are the master race... please don't be offended! -Twilight Sparkle P.S I think she's drunk... I'll check the fridge later just in case. -Spike' The princess let out a quiet 'uhh...' before writing back. 'Dear Twilight Sparkle, No, Alicorns aren't the master race, that's not what I meant. I meant, don't disrespect the other pony races, they each play a very important role in Equestria. As Princess of Friendship, you should know this. -Princess Celestia' So now they were talking about racism? This was going better than he had originally planned. Celestia gave a rather concerned blink after she sent the letter, and went back to reading her letters. Sure enough, soon after she got another reply. This time she gave an annoyed grunt. 'Dear Princess Celestia, Well yeah but, what if we were all alicorns? That would make everything so much easier! -Twilight Sparkle P.S Do not do that... please Princess. Whatever you do. -Spike.' Celestia then gave a growl, as she started to write back. "Twilight Sparkle, Please, cease in this conversation and go back to studying, as will I. -Princess Celestia.' Again, she gave a relieved sigh as it was sent. Almost straight after, however, another letter appeared in front of her. This time, she literally gave out a loud "UGH!" 'Dear Princess Celestia, What you gonna do, send me to the moon? -Twilight P.S Please don't send her to the moon... -Spike' Discord knew very well that the term 'to the moon' was something Celestia seriously hated to hear. So when she read a letter from her student actually saying that to her, it caused her to tremble angrily. 'Twilight... I think you know very well I despise hearing... or in this case, reading that! I ask you kindly, can you not?! -Princess Celestia' That was the point when Discord couldn't contain himself any longer. The zip he had used to close his mouth disappeared, and he started to crack up with laughter. He didn't even notice Celestia look up at him. "Discord!" She spat. The draconequus calmed down on his laughter, then looked down at her. "Yes Princess?" He floated down until he ended up lying on her back. "Where you watching me this whole time?" She huffed. Discord just shrugged. "I've been here ever since Twilight started sending you those letters." He snickered as he thought about them. "Good work training your student. You must be so proud." For a split second, Celestia didn't find any amusement in his comment, in fact, he notice her eyes sparkle with some kind of memory. But it only lasted a moment, before she picked up the letter that she had just wrote. "Oh, maybe I should tell you." Discord put his paw over the piece of paper. "I told Twilight to write those." Celestia's eyes widened, then she calmed. "I knew Twilight wouldn't of said those things." She gave a relieved sigh. Discord gave another amused chuckle. "Oh, I didn't tell her what to write. She thought of all that herself, clever girl!" The princess paused for a few moments. She kept staring at Discord, not exactly realizing herself sending the letter. The two kept their eyes locked with each others, as if it was an improvised staring contest. It was a letter that appeared in front of them both that broke them apart. Celestia turned to it, muttering a "what now" under her breath, before reading it. Discord tried to see what it said as well, but Celestia's wing blocked him from moving any further along her back. He heard her huff out of either amusement or annoyance, then she rolled up the letter and set it on the table. "Hey, Discord?" She turned back to the draconequus who was still lazily lying on her back. He looked at her. "Yeah?" "Hold on to my wings." She threatened. Discord raised a brow at this. "Why? What are you gonna-" Before he could finish, Celestia darted towards her balcony, before taking to the skies. It was so unexpected, even for him, that he didn't bother holding onto her wings. Instead, he messily wrapped his front limbs around her neck. "What are you doing?" Discord yelled over the sound of the wind that beat against their ears. He noticed she was flying straight up, and had a slight idea on what she was about to do. The alicorn didn't answer him, until she stopped flying vertically. "Just hold onto me. And don't even think of teleporting away, or else." She warned him. Before Discord could reply, Celestia folded her wings away, giving them both no tool to stay in the air. Which could only be a bad thing. Once their main use of gliding was gone, the both started plummeting towards the ground below them. Though, neither of them screamed. "Celestia, are you crazy?" Discord, so he didn't have to yell, leaned over to Celestia's ear. She just flicked it, then gave him a smirk. "Maybe. I haven't done this trick in over a thousand years or so." She sounded more amused than anything else. When Discord looked down, he could tell they were only about fifty feet from the ground, and counting. He closed his eyes, dreading any sort of impact. But surprisingly, it never came. The wind was no longer hitting his chin, but the front of his face. Slowly, the draconequus opened his eyes, and realized that Celestia was gliding along the ground. "I hope you realize, you scared me." He grunted at her. Celestia just chuckled. "Well, the point of this was to show you I can have fun, but you deserve it. You're lucky I didn't throw you off." Discord rolled his eyes. "Clever." He looked forward in order to see where they were going, and widened his eyes. "Uh, maybe you should slow down?" He stared at the mountain ahead, that was definitely not on any other angle but ninety degrees. Celestia scoffed at his cowardice. "You've trusted me so far, surely this should be easy for you?" Discord gave an annoyed pout. Sometimes he just couldn't work her out. They got closer to the, what was more of a wall than a hill, and as they did, Discord could make out Celestia putting her hooves in front of her as she gently flapped her wings, which were also getting more messy during their flight. Again, Discord closed his eyes, expecting a sudden stop as Celestia smashes into the mountain, but like last time, it didn't come. He felt her stumbled for a second, but she ended up in a gallop. Then he opened his eyes. She was galloping straight up. "Not exactly sure how you're doing that, but it's my motto that things are no fun in making sense." Discord commented. "Exactly." Celestia simply replied, keeping a straight line as she galloped up Canterlot Mountain. "You say you haven't done this in a while?" Discord had to admit, he was kind of impressed. "No... I think the last time I did it was when I was practicing gravity defying spells." "Oh, so that's how you're doing it." Discord concluded, but Celestia shook her head. "No, I'm using my wings to do this." She corrected him. "Do me a favor, make a cloud appear next to the top of the mountain." He obeyed her, making a candy cloud appear with a snap of his fingers. Of course, she didn't say any pacific cloud, so why not? Celestia noticed this, and rolled her eyes. Once she reached the top of the mountain, she leaped off, twisting her body around while she was in midair. They only just landed on the sticky cotton candy, but it was worth it. "Didn't know you were this fit after all these years. Discord told her. Celestia blushed in reply, then glared at him. "What's that suppose to mean exactly?" She gasped, obviously quite offended, or something along those lines. Discord then realized that what he just said could be taken the wrong way. "Uh... I didn't mean it like that!" "Hmph." She grunted, nudging closer to the edge of the cloud. "Thanks to you, I have to wash this stuff off me." She complained, lifting up a hoof to reveal the cotton candy trying to drag her back down to it's base. Discord just scoffed at her. "Geez, just when I thought you were loosened up!" Celestia looked at him in surprise. "You know, I meant I was going to eat it off of my self? Well, apart from the places I can't reach." She joked. "I'll help you with the places you can't reach." Discord offered, causing Celestia to blush again. "Discord!" She scolded, this time pushing him over the edge of the cloud. Lucky for him, he hung onto it, and managed to scramble back on it's surface. "You're very easy to offend." Discord laughed. "No I'm not. Unless it's you making those kind of jokes." "Why don't I get a free pass?" He whined, giving her his puppy eyes and tapping her on the nose with his talon. She moved his talon off of her, than smiled. "No particular reason." She said, hinting in her voice that she was lying. "You're rather unfair aren't you?" He moved his face closer to hers. "Since when?" "Ever since you turned me into stone." He snickered. He expected Celestia to laugh along with him, but she didn't. In fact, she looked at her hooves in guilt. Discord leaned back, wondering what he said to sadden her. "You're right." She murmured. Discord tilted his head. "Right about what?" "Me turning you into stone. It was unfair of me." She admitted. Discord was lost for words for a few moments, then he moved to sit closer to her. "I was only joking." He told her. "And it was fair. If there's anything I learned from the whole Tirek thing, is that I don't need to spread chaos. I only do it because I want to. It's unfair of me to be selfish like that, I know that now." Celestia found it hard to believe he could use such a tone in his voice. "But who am I to stop you from your true nature?" She looked away from him, feeling ashamed. "And I could ask, who am I to torture ponies in a place where I don't even belong?" It took some thinking before Celestia locked eyes with him again. "Well, you belong here now." She gave him a friendly nuzzle, to his own surprise. When she stopped, Discord put his paw on the space that she had touched. He was about to reply, when, "Hey! Princess! You have some new letters to read!" A brown pegasus stallion with a grey mane scolded. "Stop fooling around and get back to your duties." Celestia huffed at him. "I'm the one who manages my job, thank you." "But-" "I'm busy." "But you're-" "Goodbye." She told him firmly. With that, the pegasus gave her an annoyed look, then flew back down to Canterlot. "Looks like my work was a success." Discord taunted. "What work is that?" Celestia raised a brow. "I came here to loosen you up. Looks like I've done just that!" He patted the princess on the head. Usually, him doing that would make her push him away, but this time she giggled. "Oh, you're such a genius." She told him sarcastically. --- "One more book..." Twilight sighed, as she pulled the final book from the pile towards her. "Twilight!!" A certain pegasus' voice made her jump. "Fluttershy? What is it now?" "Celestia nuzzled Discord! It was so cute!" She squealed, covering her mouth with her hooves. Twilight stared at her. "And just how do you know that?" Fluttershy paused. "Uhh..." "Where you watching them?" Twilight gasped. "...No?" "What is wrong with you?" "I just think they'd go cute together!" Fluttershy cried, galloping off down the hall. "I'm still trying to get my head around today..." She put a hoof on her forehead, wondering if this was a normal day for her or not. Deciding to get her mind off of what in Equestria had just happened. "TWILIGHT!" Came another voice. She groaned. "What Spike?" "I didn't find any bottles of alcohol in the fridge. Where are you hiding them?" "I told you Spike, I wasn't drunk! Discord told me to do that!" "Since when do you make a deal like that? Let alone with Discord?" Twilight just buried her head into her book. ---
