> Do you want to play? > by Orchid Star eyes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Intro > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My name is Maud Inkie Pie. Me and my sisters, Clarice Blinkie Pie and Pinkamena Diane Pie, lived on a rock farm when we where kids. Our parents Clyde and Susan Pie owned the quarry but we all had to work there. Most of our childhood was boredom. Picking up rock and rolling them into piles with the occasional party. But it was fine overall. However, one day Mum and Dad had a falling out. They were shouting at each-other for hours. Calling each-other names and blaming the other for their suffering. It was so loud neither me nor my sisters could get to sleep. Eventually, we hide in the wardrobe in hope it would be soundproof. I lead us inside, with a candle in my hand, and closed the door. It turned out it was so we nestled into the coats and tried to relax. At midnight we were still hidden in the wardrobe with nothing but a candle. Clarice was shivering, buried deep in a pile of dresses, next to me. She had always been fragile and she was the youngest of us all. She was also afraid of the dark so it made sense why she was so scared. Pinkamena, or Pinkie as we used to call her, was laying on the hard wooden floor. She had always seemed to be a bit lonely in the Rock farm and didn't usually talk to us but she was surprisingly quiet. I ignored her and comforted Clarice. "Don't worry Clari," I murmured in a soothing voice as I stroked her silky, silver mane with my grey hoof, "Lets get some sleep. Ok?" She burst out of the pile of clothes with a half-hearted smile. She looked up at me with her sweet, golden eyes and nodded. "Ok." She replied. Quietly, I blew out the dim flame of the candle and snuggled up to my little sister. Soon all of us were asleep and the noise of the fight had died down. ******** "WAKE UP MAUD!" Clarice cried out to me as she shook me awake. As I awoke I heard a high pitch giggle fill the wardrobe. "Wah? Was that you Clari?" I moaned as I rubbed my blurry eyes. I felt her pull my hooves away from my eyes. When I grasped her violet hoof to comfort her I felt her shaking violently. "N-N-N-N..." She stuttered as she stared into the darkness and quivered. "N-N-NO!" The cry from my petrified sister unnerved me. I looked around and everything seemed black, like something from a nightmare. "Hello..." Something whispered from inside the pitch black, "Do you want to play?...." I groped around the piles of clothes, trying desperately to find the light somewhere in the darkness. I found the mains and quickly pushed the switch. The light slowly flicked and I saw Pinkamena writhing on the hard, wooden floor. Her usually, puffy hair was falling against her pink coat in long, raspberry curls. "He he he!" She giggled. Her hair suddenly fell, straight and dense, on her shoulders. As the light fully returned the laughter grew loud and crazy. As she turned round to look at us with her cold, crazy, blue eyes Clarice screamed. We both cried out in shock and terror as Pinkamena's cackling became maniacal and wicked. Me and Clarice beat at the door of the wardrobe desperately as we screamed. Recognising the small thumping was pointless, I pushed Clarice aside so she was safe and bucked at the doors. We burst out of wardrobe and dashed down the stairs. I felt my mane blow back as we ran. We screamed to our parents as we sprinted along the hall and into their bedroom. The echoing laughter and screams had clearly woken them up for they where already out from under the covers. Me and my sister puffed and panted in shock as we took a quick moment to breath. The laughter could now be heard throughout the Pie rock farm. "Mommy, Daddy come upstairs quickly!" Clarice yelled at our parents. "There's something wrong with Pinkie!" I continued. We all ran down the hall and up the stairs. When our dad burst open the doors there was a cloud of dust. I expected the new Pinkamena to leap out and attack us and I cowered in fear. However, When we all looked inside Pinkie was nestled, gently in a heap of soft, fluffy coats. As our parents placed the sleeping Pinkie in her bed we tried to tell them what we had seen. But they didn't believe us. "Don't try to prank us ever again you three." Father said sternly. We tried desperately to prove to them that it wasn't just a prank and soon I began to think that it had all been a horrible dream. "B-B-But!" Clarice tried to reason. We looked at Pinkamena asleep in her cosy bed. At first she looked normal. Suddenly, I noticed her straight hair lying on her shoulders. Dad was about to pull the covers over her when I stopped him. He looked up with Clarice too. They saw the hair but also... I followed their gaze to Pinkamena's flank. Her balloon cutie mark was a deep, dark and dull purple. After proving we were right we all went back to bed and tried to forget about it. The rest of them already seem to not remember but I still do... ******** Clarice now works at a snack bar in Manehattan while I continue to work in the Pie rock farm. Pinkamena Diane Pie (or Pinkie Pie as she is now known) works at Sugarcube Corner in Ponyville. She's famous for her incessant amount of parties and ridiculous but funny antics. An overall, funny and sweet 'party animal'. However, I will NEVER forget that day. When her hair went straight and her cutie mark went black. I will always remember that evil, maniacal laughter. None of the Pie family understands what happened to her that night or what happen to change her back to the normal Pinkie. Even Pinkie doesn't know how. In fact, she doesn't even know what happened. I don't know why... All I know is that it was real! And it wasn't NORMAL! ********
