Ever wonder how in Tangled, that drop of sun fell from the sky?

In Rapunzel's story, everybody says a drop of sunlight just "fell" from the sky and turned into that magical flower, but Celestia knows what really happened

A short one-shot I absolutely had to put together.

A Most Remarkable Discovery

"So Celestia..." the unicorn prepared her notepad, ready to write down everything, "Can you tell me just what happened today?" Blue Quill asked, waiting for the strangely nervous alicorn to begin.

"Uh...ahem...yes of course." Celestia gulped, beads of sweat cascading down her forehead, "It was a gorgeous day out, so I decided to take a ride in my carriage..."

....Earlier that day:

Celestia smiled as the wind blew in her mane, the sun had just risen, and hardly any pony was awake. Her chaperones worked tirelessly to chariot her wherever she pleased, and so they did, wherever she wanted. Celestia could smell the sea air as they flew near the ocean, she absolutely loved the smell of the salty waters. Relishing the smell, she ordered her guards to land, but there was no land in sight, so they simply flew on. By midday, they had spotted a large island, Celestia once again ordered her guards to land, this time successfully.

Celestia took her time wandering the beach, she played with sea shells and curiously watched crabs fiddle by. When nopony else was around, her demeanor could quickly change from a stern and wise monarch to a playful little filly who had yet to see the world. Her guards, of course, were sworn never to gossip or share tales of Celestia's occasional mishaps, as Canterlot royalty would call it. But Celestia could care less, and she even went for a swim, the waters were just perfectly contrasting from the hot sand, giving her shoeless hooves some relief from the heat. Her dampened mane flopped against her sides when she leapt about in the salty waters.

After Celestia had played for a whole hour, she simply lay on the shore and soaked up the rays of her own warm sun, loving every moment of her tiny vacation from the pressure of her royal duties. It was wonderful to get away from the high society that had been steadily created over the thousands of years. Luna never approved of the Canterlot standards for good behavior, neither did Celestia, and Luna had said that she was going to "fix" the Grand Galloping Gala. That made Celestia gulp nervously, but at least it would be exciting, otherwise the Gala was simply a boring get-together of royal snobs, who had nothing better to do than chat idly about how fashion was changing, or how certain manestyles disgusted them.

Celestia felt a grin appear on her muzzle when she thought of Twilight's first Gala, she had brought all her friends, they all had beautiful dresses and high expectations. Expectations that were far too high, there were just too many ponies for Celestia to greet to spend time with Twilight, nopony wanted anything to do with Pinkie Pie's antics, Rarity found out that Celestia's nephew was not all he was cracked up to be, Rainbow couldn't get the Wonderbolt's attention, nopony in Canterlot thinks apples are a delicacy, and the Canterlot Garden's house the most reclusive of animals, so much so even Fluttershy couldn't gain their trust.

A hoof began to unconsciously fan it's owner, and Celestia sat up with a sigh, she had soaked up enough sun for the day, and was ready to go home, she climbed into her carriage and signaled for the guards to go, and they obliged. As they rose into the sky, Celestia took a deep breath once more, she would have to revisit this place, such a peaceful and quite afternoon...*BUZZ!* "Ooh!" Celestia felt something go up her nose, "Ah...Ahhh...AACHOOO!!" a mighty sneeze sent a golden booger flying from her nose. Both the guard's and Celestia's jaws dropped as it made contact with the ground, a glowing yellow flower swiftly emerged from the contact point.

Celestia simply gaped at the sight, "I didn't know I could do that...." she blushed very deeply in embarrassment as the guards began to chuckle, "Ahem!" Celestia glared daggers at them, and they promptly shut up. As her chaperones drove on, Celestia pondered what other effects that booger would have, besides a seemingly magic flower...

...Present time:

Blue Pen was stifling giggles herself as she wrote the day's events down on the pad, "It isn't funny Blue..." Celestia chided, but that only caused the aqua mare to burst into uncontrolled laughter, holding her sides and falling to the floor. Celestia rolled her eyes, but she smiled too, it was pretty funny wasn't it? And the more she thought about it, the more her own laughter began to roll out, and soon both ponies were rolling around on the ground in raucous fits of giggles.

Luna was walking calmly along the halls when she heard her sister's laughter, a small smile crept upon her face as she imagined just what Celestia could be laughing about. And the ear-piercing laughter of Celestia's personal biographer made Luna burst into a brief laughter herself, shaking her head, she trotted on, eager for her nightly dream-walking. "I'll have to ask about that later on..." she mumbled to herself.

Meanwhile, Celestia and Blue Pen were wiping happy tears from their eyes, the fits had finally stopped, and both ponies panted heavily from the outburst, small giggles emanating every here and there as they calmed. "On second thought, that is very funny." Celestia sighed, looking over to see that Blue Pen's face was contorting in an attempt to keep her cool.

"More than ver-BBFFFhahaha!!" Blue burst into a second fit of hilarious guffawing, Celestia soon joining her, and I can honestly say, they both had very sore stomachs for the rest of that day. Celestia, to this day, has absolutely no idea what effect that single booger had on a young girl, who's name was Rapunzel...
