> The Great Battle of Carpet Canyon > by Dr Atlas > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > A hero has fallen > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- BAM! One magic blast! BAM! Another! POW! Yet another! And she was still keeping her stance! Surely she could still withstand- KA-POW! Oh no! She took a face full of magic...to the face! And there she lay, the battle worn Twilight Twinkle, completely damaged from her horn to her hooves. She tried to stand, but every part of her was in pain. With all her strength, she looked up to see just who could of done this to her. And there they were. All four of them, every single one of them were smiling and cackling with laughter at how this unicorn had fallen so easily. “How pitiful.” The evil Knight of the Moon said. “I would’ve thought a protege like you would’ve lasted longer.” The purple unicorn grunted and started standing. “I haven’t even...ghu...even begun to...to...hug..to…” She fell again, making the villains laugh even harder than before. “You never stood a chance Twinkle!” The queen of the locus yelled. “You were doomed from the start.” “Indeed.” Senior Discord snickered. “I have never seen such a fight be so easy.” His sidekick, Senior Sombrero, laughed with him. “Neither have I, but what would you expect from mares like her.” Both Queen Locus and Knight Moon glared at them. “And just what is wrong with mares?!” Locus said with her hooves to her hips. The senior’s twiddled their hooves (or claws in Discord’s case) and looked around innocently. “Nothin’” Knight Moon rolled her cat like eyes and turned to Twilight again. “This will be a day long remembered.” Suddenly! She flew down and slammed her front hooves right in of Twilight. The unicorn jolted and flung on her back. “The day I destroy Twilight Twinkle!” The poor unicorn tried to get up, but Knight Moon was too fast! The evil mare of the night pounded Twilight right in her chest and held her in place with just one hoof. Twilight coughed. “L...let me go...you…” She struggled to get the evil mare’s hoof off of her, but Knight Moon continued to hold her in place, laughing every second the mare moved. “You cannot win Twilight. We are far too strong, not even your master can defeat us.” Twilight grabbed Knight’s hoof and did her best to push it off. “You’re wrong, she will defeat you, and Equestria will be her’s to rule instead of you evi-gheah…” Twilight felt the tyrant’s hoof press harder on her throat. It was becoming too much for her to take. She could hardly breathe. The dark alicorn’s horn started to flare with dark magic. “Soon, it will be me who rules this land, little pony.” Knight Moon pointed her horn directly in front of Twilight face. “And soon, all of Equestria will bow to my will.” Twilight whimpered. Knight Moon’s magic was bearing down her her. “Good bye, pitiful pony...” This was the end for our small hero Twilight Twinkle, Knight Moon was far too strong for her to handle. And as the Knight’s horn glowed with dark magic, Twilight could only close her eyes, and wait for it to all be over. The next thing Twilight heard was a powerful blast, but something was different, instead of a pain she, felt that the death around her throat had went away, along with the cold breath of that villainess mare. Twilight was too scared to open her eyes and accept that she was dead...Wait! Was she truly dead? No! she wasn’t! She was still alive! Twilight slowly opened her eyes, realizing she had been crying the entire time, which is nothing to be ashamed of, any sidekick would cry at a time like this. Unfortunately, her eyes were too watered down for her to even see, she tried wiping them off, but something...or somepony helped her with that. “Are you alright?” Twilight’s ears twitched when she heard that voice, she knew it all too well who it was. “W-what?” At last, her eyes were clear, all thanks to the gentle touch of her savior, now she could finally get a good look at the hero who had come to save the day! “YOU!” Twilight heard that dark voice again and faced forward to see that Knight Moon was being helped up by her group of baddies. “I should’ve known you would show up Celestia!” “That’s princess Celestia to you!” Twilight yelled through her sore throat. She gazed to the night sky and grinned, knowing now she was safe, for right above her, in all her shining glory, stood the bravest, most beautiful, most amazing alicorn in all of Equestria! “Princess Celestia!” “She’s right you know.” The amazing alicorn extended her wings to show all of her glory to the evildoers. “You should address me as a princess first.” Knight Moon shoved the other villains off of her and pointed at the wonderful alicorn. “I call NOPONY a princess!” Knight Moon shook the dust off from her wings. She never would've thought Celestia would come in and shoot a gigantic magical blast of powerful magic right in her FACE! Knight Moon could only glare at her. “You will soon learn to address me as such Miss Moon.” Celestia looked down at her faithful apprentice and gasped in shock. “You...you dare hurt my student? My friend?” Discord raised his paw in the air. “Yep, we sure did!” Senior Sombra punched him in the arm. “OW...what'd I do?” “So what if we did?” Queen Locust yelled. Celestia raised an eye toward her. “Yeah, that’s right, we did.” The locust queen scoffed. “We hurt your poor wittle Twiwite Spawkow.” She rubbed her eyes in a mocking matter and laughed. “Why don’t you just leave her and come rule with us. Her, and the rest of your kind are weak, but if you come with us, then maybe-” Celestia stomped her powerful hoof, making the entire ground shake. “I will never leave any of my little ponies behind!” Then she lit up her long white horn, making everyone shield their eyes from the amount of magic coming off of it. It was then that Twilight felt something surrounding her body. She held up her hoof and started seeing that the scars around them were going away. She looked down to see her legs and body were doing the same. The villains gasped as they saw Celestia raise the purple unicorn in the air. The yellow magic flowed through her as great white alicorn closed her eyes and concentrated on getting her strength back, though she was pretty smart, so it wasn’t that hard for her to do this spell, and once the lights dimmed down, the villains gasped again at what I-uh...Celestia had done to help her. “Wha...wh-what?” Twilight shook a bit and looked all across her body to see that she was now good as knew. She looked up at her mentor and smiled. “Princess?” Celestia wrapped a wing around her and pulled Twilight in for a hug. “And I will never, never, ever leave a friend behind.” They both smiled and nuzzled one another in friendship. The bad guys and gals looked on in disgust, especially Discord, who looked at the other villains and pointed to the inside of his mouth. “Bleh, don’t gag us with a spoon here Celly. We all know friendship only makes you weak.” Discord shook his head and sighed. “It’s ponies like you two that make us sick.” “Indeed.” Knight Moon said. “And soon, you will suffer the same fate Twilight was about to suffer.” The four of them went into a combat stance. Celestia and Twilight got out of their hug and did the same. Ready for a giant fight to begin. “And that would be-” “Tia!” Celestia’s ear twitched and her eyes widened. Twilight looked up at her in worry. “What's wrong? Did you hear something princess?” Celestia turned around and yelled. “Um….j-just one minute!” She turned back and whispered. “Um...can you guys hold on for a second. I’ll be right back.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Well, be sure to make it quick.” Celestia said in a dark tone of voice while lifting a dark colored doll pony in the air and jiggled it. “We villains won't wait forever!” Celestia dropped the toy and got up from the floor. She stretched a bit and looked over the small battlefield she made, her apprentice was over to the right side of the carpet, and the villains were over at the left, with Knight of the Moon standing in the middle of them. Celestia went nose to little nose with her. “Oh, I’ll be back.” She turned to her apprentice and looked as serious as possible. “Hold them off for as long as possible Twilight, and don’t worry, I will be back!” “I’ll do my best princess.” Celestia said with the highest pitched voice possible, and with that, Celestia started walking out of her bedroom, but not before taking one last glance at the glorious battle that would soon come. The entire field (or carpet) was widely spread out, and the canyon to the north (or two pillows next to each other that were right beside her toys.) was almost begging to be used in combat. “This would be a battle long remembered.” Celestia said. “The Battle of Carpet Canyon!” “Tia! Come on.” Celestia shook her head a bit and ran out the door. “C-coming mother!”
