One shot clopfic: Rainbow Dash x Fluttershy; based off of the tumblr comic by FatalPony. Takes place between the episodes Feeling Pinkie Keen and Sonic Rainboom.

Pegasus (Greek) - a mammalian creature from the Equidae family that possesses the ability to fly with a pair of wings; plr - pegasi

These are the species that which have easily defined the likes of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, both of whom resided on two different wavelengths: the former timid and earthbound, the latter brave and skyward; in spite of all this, the strength of their friendship has just begun for the two.

After a harrowing endeavor against a horrendous hydra, Fluttershy decides to go seek the comfort of Rainbow Dash while Rarity house-sits for a while, a simple task but with a catch: Fluttershy must get in touch with her innate ability and act in spite of fear in order to make contact; but, once Rainbow Dash is found, what will she happen to do next?

Such a simple question can be filled to the brim with many possible answers but only one can be revealed in this short yet meaningful expedition; all that can be done is to sit tight and see it all unfold either before the eyes or out of both sight and mind.

“Thanks again for staying behind to watch Angel Bunny for me, Rarity…” a gentle voice was heard from the treehouse, belonging to that of a butterscotch equine. A long flowing light strawberry mane stretched down to nearly touch the forearms, a color that was shared by its tail which had tasted the ground. A delicate pair of wings was adorned upon the equine’s side, shut in place for they were not in use thanks to the solid terrain. On the flank had rested a trio of butterflies that were occupying a flight plan of its own separate but equal directions. The Pegasus’ eyes were colored with a shade of teal, filled with such a power to move both heaven and earth within all of the four hooves.

On the opposite side was another equine whom the voice had been addressing; however, the characteristics were a primary difference: for starters, the coat was a pure snow white, devoid of all sorts of colors but filled to the brim with life no less. A dark purple mane was adorned throughout the head in a neat style, the same being shared by the tail even as it too tasted the ground as well. In the midst of the forehead stuck out a horn, revealing the identity to be nothing more than a unicorn. The flank had a cluster of three items as well but rather than that of beings, it was a trinity of diamonds sparkling with glory. The listener’s eyes were dyed a deep blue, a shade darker than the mascara that painted around the eyelashes.

Seeing the butterscotch Pegasus ready to take off, Rarity spoke, “Don’t you worry about a thing, my darling Fluttershy.”

“Okay, Fluttershy you can do this…” Fluttershy said to herself after hearing the soft shutting of the door; trotting across the sandy path, she stopped to look up at the clouds and shuddered, “oh, why did Rainbow had to be so high up?” Closing those teal eyes, the Pegasus started to open up her wings and began to hover off the ground by a few inches, hooves barely touching the very surface she was once on. Facing skyward, Fluttershy opened her eyes but no longer filled with fear but instead of determination and started shooting upward and away with little care in the world. Flapping these wings, the pink mane Pegasus glided across the atmosphere while concentrating her visage on the multitudes of cottony clouds that had moved about with little speed whatsoever. The bright golden orb that had strayed away from Fluttershy was mere measurements away from touching the solid ground, a sign in which this day was minutes, if not hours away from ending. Searching onward, the pink mane Pegasus still flew but neither luck nor time were on her side; as a result, it had seemed like that she was about to just give up on the search and accept defeat.

Then, something had appeared with Fluttershy’s teal tinted eyes: another equine resting amongst the clouds and it was a Pegasus just like her but with a fair share of differences to boot; a cyan coat was beginning to scratch the surface of this discovery she had made. A full spectrum of colors both hot and cold were found to be streaking about the mane and tail within the right kind of balance amongst themselves; unlike the observer’s, they were both shorter. Approaching the other being, Fluttershy had come to find a flank possessing a small thundercloud with a lightning bolt of red, yellow, and blue descending downward. The cyan Pegasus’ eyes were a dark magenta, open to find it locked onto the butterscotch visitor’s visage as pink flared up the latter’s muzzle.

“Oh, Fluttershy… I wasn’t expecting you to come by here today…” the host yawned as the eyelids widen open very slowly before standing up on all hooves.

Joining the spectral mane Pegasus, the pink mane guest started to respond, “Hi, Rainbow Dash… I’m glad that I have caught up with you already; I was about to give up looking for you.”

“Well you have found me, alive and kicking as usual,” the host, Rainbow Dash, boisterously uttered as she started bucking the air, “I was about to take my nap already before the competition tomorrow.”

“Sorry that I have interrupted you…” Fluttershy whimpered, lowering her head in shame while squeaking softly.

Despite not paying attention to detail, the spectral mane Pegasus rested her left front hoof over the pink mane friend’s poll and spoke, “no, it’s fine… a little company would be nice anytime anyway.”

“Oh… okay then…” Fluttershy responded, raising her head back up to face Rainbow Dash once more, this time with feeling of regained morale resurfacing, “can I stay here?”

“Sure!” echoed the spectral mane Pegasus as the pink mane friend cracked open a thin white beam.

Gently placing these trembling front hooves carefully on the cloud, Fluttershy had joined Rainbow Dash and said, “how about that; after all, these years and I can still walk…”

“Shy, you’re a Pegasus, you can walk on the clouds too ya know…” the spectral mane Pegasus chuckled as the pink mane friend began to sit down nearby the former, “it’s like you haven’t been there in a long time at all.”

“You’re right…” Fluttershy shuddered in fear but managed to hide such an aspect away from Rainbow Dash.

As the massive sphere of heat and light was approaching the mountainous valley, the spectral mane Pegasus asked, “so what do you think of my little resting place, Fluttershy?”

“It’s really…” answered Fluttershy while starting to take a glance at the scenery “high up.”

“Oh come on, you have no reason to be afraid of heights; you can fly like any average Pegasus, just relax!” Rainbow Dash had laughed noticing the trepidation from her friend.

The pink mane Pegasus stammered, “I… guess you’re right…”

“And I just love this resting place,” Rainbow Dash continued to prattle onward, resting her hooves on the iconic mane and poll, “it has a really awesome view, a comfortable temperature and complete privacy!”

The two mares soon looked at each other and then away, leaving them both with a touch of red.
“Rainbow Dash I…” Fluttershy began to interject not wanting to wait any longer.

Just as the pink mane Pegasus started to take aim at the friend’s muzzle, the spectral mane friend answered, “Yes Fluttershy? Anyth… FLUTTERSHY! What was THAT?!”

“I-I’M SO SORRY!” Fluttershy squeaked in embarrassment as she had broken away from her flickering target leaving behind an infectious reddening, “I-I… I was trying to be more assertive! Rarity told me to quit hiding my feelings, or they’ll eat me up inside…”

“Y-your feelings? Fluttershy…” Rainbow Dash uttered, now feeling dazed and confused as her magenta eyes returned back to a normal shape.

Burying the corners of her mouth with her own hooves, the pink mane Pegasus started to explain away, “I got carried away again! I didn’t mean to…”

“…why didn’t you say anything to me before?” the spectral mane Pegasus continued, a faint smile appearing.

Opening the teal eyes, Fluttershy peeped quietly, “…huh?”

“It’s no small feat to come out with something like that,” Rainbow Dash started to speak, extending her right hoof over her friend’s crest, “even from a cool, awesome and brave pony like myself, that takes GUTS!”

“S-so… you don’t mind?” the pink mane Pegasus had stuttered once more with feeling yet regain control of her words and volume.

“Mind?” the spectral mane Pegasus echoed quietly, her groove growing a bit ajar, “I’ve waited too long for this, Fluttershy.”

“Dashie…” Fluttershy whispered, copying the facial cue of Rainbow Dash before joining their lips together slowly but surely without interruption. Now their eyes were closed and their faces burned bright red as they had shared such a gentle kiss that had grown stronger. The Pegasi pair grew more eager as their muzzles finally opened in complete synchronicity; therefore, their tongues finally slipped and they both explored each other’s with such overwhelming ecstasy. In due process, the two had started to tumble down onto the cottony cloud with Fluttershy residing below Rainbow Dash, continuing for at least over a minute or two tongue-tied.

During the embrace, it got a little more intimate between the two and somewhat passionate slowly. Soon, the spectral mane Pegasus broke away from the kiss and transferred her lips from the pink mane counterpart down beneath, sticking a tongue out against the latter’s butterscotch coat as it had trailed saliva from the latch to beneath the barrel. After letting go of Fluttershy’s left hind cannon, Rainbow Dash was now in contact with another pair of lips: a narrow sheath which was opened by the latter’s hooves, causing the former’s mouth to water in anticipation. The tongue slowly slid inside of it, earning a soft moan as another exploration was now taking place; the spectral mane Pegasus held the pink mane target’s stifles together for control. Fluttershy could barely help herself but open the cyan laced eyes to find Rainbow Dash’s warm tongue breaking away from the icy whispering eye instantly, leaving a thin achromatic string as the latter started laying across the cloud in front.

“I like this new assertive Fluttershy” the spectral mane Pegasus sighed as the pink mane friend took notice of the changing details appearing on the former: a watery mouth, elongated wings, and a moist sheath; without warning, the latter pounced and swirled a tongue around the horizontal opening, “wow, she’s good.” Rainbow Dash bit her lower lip and placed a right hoof over Fluttershy’s poll while feeling the conduit knock back inside before aligning the former’s muzzle against the latter’s whispering eye; as a result, both their bodies were now mutually inverted towards one another, holding each other in place with their cannons as they were now resting on the cloud. A series of collective moans were quietly heard in delight as the Pegasi pair caressed the coats on their barrels gently, slurping and licking whatever was left inside of the sheaths; in the process, their wings were now expanding against the light and variable winds. Because the mares’ tongues were intertwined with their whispering eyes, the instantaneous moaning was stifled by the tight suctioning lips yet grew loud; however, this wouldn’t last much longer. The pink mane Fluttershy started using her remaining strength to revolve at a semicircle, confining the spectral mane Rainbow Dash to the substructure with no problem whatsoever as the latter had continued onward anyway, somewhat aware the awaiting results. “AAH!” the butterscotch Pegasus shrieked as the excess of her sheath exploded with a filament of creamy goodness splashing against the cyan friend’s barrel and onto the sky.

Down below were two other equines donning umbrella hats on their head which had borne the colors of the spectrum, a trait that had made Rainbow Dash so iconic; still, they two had their difference: for starters, one of them had a purple coat whereas the other was pink. One was adorned with a dark purple mane throughout the head in a straightforward style, the same being shared by the tail albeit a shade darker and possessing a pink stripe in the middle; the other possessed a poufy carnation style, one where the mane was short but a tail touching the ground as well. Out of all of the two that were present, the purple equine was a unicorn just like Rarity whereas the pink one had neither a horn nor a set of wings. The unicorn’s flank had a pair of hexagrams, one colored in magenta overlapping another smaller white with a quartet of twinkling stars adorned around whereas the regular had some balloons, two that were blue and one which was yellow. The unicorn’s eyes were also purple but in a different shade from the coat and the mane put together whereas the other had big blue eyes.

A droplet had landed on one of the hats, prompting the pink pony to bounce upward eyes wide shut and cheer, “told you…!”

The Pegasi pair now had the whole entire cloud to themselves and they were using it to watch the bright golden orb set upon them, leaving the skies to turn from blue to vermillion within already.

“Hey Fluttershy…” the spectral mane Pegasus had murmured, earning a faint peep from the nearby friend in question, “can you do me a favor, please?”

“Yeah anything… Rainbow,” Fluttershy had answered Rainbow Dash very slowly but calmly.

With a bout of exhalation, the spectral mane Pegasus said to her pink mane friend, “would you cheer me on at the Young Flier Competition tomorrow?”

“Umm… sure…” Fluttershy stammered before regaining control of her speech as usual with Rainbow Dash in tow, “but I don’t know how to cheer that good…”

“That’s okay; I’ll train you before we get here first thing in the morning…” the spectral mane Pegasus whispered before kissing her pink mane friend on the muzzle.

Finally taking a stand, Fluttershy had prepared to fly off before turning to face Rainbow Dash when the former spoke, “does the forest sound good for you?”

“Yeah sure whatever floats your boat Shy…” the spectral mane Pegasus answered before yawning, “I’ll catch up with you later…”

Slowly, the pink mane Pegasus descended downward from the atmosphere where Rainbow Dash had remained, concentrating the teal visage on the sandy road that was taken earlier ago that day. In a short moment, Fluttershy had touched the ground once again, now less of afraid of the skies as she is with the land that which was called home for where the heart is as of the very now. Feeling relieved, the butterscotch Pegasus began trotting along and sang quietly, “la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la…”

Coming across the old oak tree that was her humble hearty home, Fluttershy had knocked on the door gently.

“I'll be right with youuu…!” a stray voice was heard the other side, belonging to that of the white unicorn from long ago; with the turn of the latch, the door opened revealing the identity to have remained unchanged nonetheless, “Fluttershy, you’ve came back already; how did your rendezvous with Rainbow Dash go, darling?”

“Oh it was great, Rarity: we had a nice time; how did Angel Bunny do?” the butterscotch Pegasus asked with wonder, not willing to divulge the full contents of her likeminded friend earlier.

Sighing in relief, Rarity answered, “Oh, you would not believe the time we have had together while you were gone darling Fluttershy…”
