> The Astounding Spider-Colt > by I DONT LIKE MLP NO MORE > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Disruption Part I > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Featherweight!" a voice called. "Featherweight wake up this instant!" is cried even louder. A loud rap was made as something hard hit Feather Weights on head. Waking up instantly, he shot his head up backward hitting his head on the back of his chair. A cry of laughter was heard as the class exploded into laughter. each student on the verge of either crying or falling off their seat. Featherweight, still waking from his nap, saw that his teacher, Mrs. Cheerilee, was looking at him with cold hard eyes, a ruler in her hoof. Feeling embarrassed, Featherweight ducked his head so that the class wouldn't see his cherry red cheeks. Walking back to the front, she gave the class a firm look which instantly quieted them, before continuing her lecture of music and its impact on society. 'Damn spider sense didn't kick in, why at of all times when it's always going off it decided to shut off now.' he thought to himself. Being a superhero was hard as it was having him patrol Ponyville at night until Luna's moon went down, and Celestia's sun came up. Though he fought small criminals that committed petty thieveries, he still was tired after the day having a few hours of rest dedicated to either studying or sleeping. Once the bell finally rung and everypony left the class, Featherweight began to pack his things. Feeling a light tap on his shoulder, he turned to see that Mrs. Cheerilee was standing behind him, her eyes with worry. "Can we talk for a few minutes?" she asked, and knowing what she meant, minutes would be a painful hour of hearing how he should go to the counselor if he was being bullied or go to bed early, something that Featherweight heard over and over again coming from her. "Uhh sure," he replied following her to her desk, waiting for her to sit down he stood patiently for what she had to say. "Feather Weight, I asked to talk to you because I have to ask something of you." looking at him she continued "I know that the recent death of your uncle has affected you, but your grades are beginning to slip dramatically, and you're too smart to let that happen, so give me the truth. Are you being bullied, yes or no?" "No, I'm not. I don't know why you always assume that when something like this happens. I mean I always finish top of my class when it comes to finals I have scholarships ranging from Canterlot University to out of country collages all practically begging for me to attend." "I know it's that I'm worried about your well being, I've known you since you were a filly in kindergarten and I've had the pleasure of watching you become the colt you are today." Cheerilee replied teary eyed. "Yea I know, and thanks, but I'm ok honestly." Featherweight said giving a smile. "Good, now if I could ask a favor from you." she asked. The Apartment of Professor Octavia Canterlot 7:47 P.M "Almost finished," she said to herself, stepping back to admire her work, an exoskeleton with four robotic arms that would be controlled by her mind, wiping the sweat beating down her face she went back on finishing her creation. A door was opened as a white unicorn walked to her, the black shades resting on the mare face bobbing up and down with each step. "So what is this again, some random tentacle porn fantasy that you finally made reality?" she asked with amusement. Rolling her eyes, Octavia continued to work, while listening to her roommate blab on about the her latest song and achievements. Becoming aggravated she set her tools down turning to face the one speaking. "Vinyl, if I remember correctly you too are building something, a dubstep gun I believe," Octavia said in a harsh voice. "Now what I'm doing is revolutionary, creating a way for musicians with multiple musical practices to play, conduct, and compose music, all at the same time with the hooves being free for other matters. All your dubstep gun does is malfunction and create sparks barely producing what you call 'music'." Vinyl felt hurt at her friends remarks of how she created music and past failures. "Well if you feel that way well," she said tears coming upon her, "well I guess I'll go." with that she used her magic to open the door, and once out slammed said door. Feeling a little bad, Octavia pondered on whether to go and apologize, or leave it as it was before making the matter worse. Deciding not to go, she saw that her masterpiece was almost done, the beautiful silver arms stretched down each with claws at the end, the chip which would plant itself on its host, glowing a faint blue. Still staring she didn't hear the doorbell ring until it kept going at a continuous rate. "Vinyl can you please get-." she stopped herself from finishing the sentence, her roommate may have still been upside with Octavia recent outburst at her. Leaving the room, she answered the door to see a scrawny beige pegasus standing at her door with a saddlebag that seemed overstuffed, and a camera hooked onto his body. Looking at her he pulled a note from his saddle bag and handed it to her. "Hi! I'm Feather Weight I was asked by Mrs. Cheerilee to come and interview you about your new concert tour around Equestria." Looking at the note it was indeed from a Mrs. Cheerliee, which puzzled her even more, a train ride from Ponyville to Canterlot was a two hour trip and it was nearing night already. "Where are my manners? Please come in." she told him beckoning him inside. Looking around, Featherweight saw that Octavia was indeed as rumors said she was, neat. Not a single speck of dust seemed to live inside her apartment, but something did seem off. Though she composed some of Equestria greatest pieces, it was known that she roomed with the biggest party pony, DJ PON-3. He was so wrapped up in what he thinking about that his spider sense had to alert him about the oncoming danger. In her room, Vinyl was devoted to finishing her project, in which she dubbed the "Dubstep Gun", that would take the energy produced by her music, and be able to fire it in a form of energy recreating the same music. Octavia told her that her music was unworthy to be heard, that all her gun ever did was malfunction and spark up. She'll show her that she deserved to be called a musician, and she'll do it by making this. Putting it on her arm she played one of her tracks, all the while she warmed her invention. She hadn't notice the lights beginning to dim as her gun began to absorb the music. Vinyl thoughts were on only proving her best friend wrong, and nothing else mattered. Downstairs, Featherweights spider sense continued to bug him, going off every minute or so. Walking behind Octavia, he noticed that the lights were growing faint. Octavia, noticing that her guest stopped, looked at his gaze and followed what he was looking at, and with hearing the music pouring from the upstairs, discarded it. "Oh it must be Vinyl making her music," she said. "Do try your best to ignore it, or trust me, you'll be up for weeks." "I don't think it's the music Ms. Octavia, I believe it's something other than that." Featherweight said. "Oh please what on Equestria could cause all that trouble, except for her.." she never finished her sentence, because the upstairs exploded. Octavias eyes widened as the fire began to pour from the ceiling. Her thoughts on only Vinyls safety, she ran from Featherweight, giving him time to suit up. Running outside he pulled his saddle bag over his head and digging through it found his costume. Donning it quickly he stashed hi bag in a trash can before crawling up the wall to where the explosion happen. "Faster," he said to himself. "there's a reason why you're called Featherweight!" reaching the window, he heard the fire brigade arriving, meaning he had to hurry. He already had a bad rep in Ponyville, he certainly didn't need one in Canterlot. Climbing in through the window, he worked his way through the blaze, seeing melted records and computer equipment everywhere. "Vinyl!" he heard, coming from what he thought he saw was a door. "Vinyl, it's me, Octavia! I'm coming to get you!" she cried, she then began to hit the door, which he put away searching for Vinyl, then his spider sense went off blasting off in his head. As if in slow motion, he saw the door open, and knew what would happen, an effect called the back-draft, which would cook everypony in the inferno, if oxygen was to be let in. Pressing his left wing against the pressure plate beneath his costume, he shot a web that attached itself to Octavia. Latching on to her, he pulled his body back to allow her to come to him, before turning and jumping out the window. "No, let go!" Octavia yelled, hitting the costume freak, landing as the building exploded and Octavias best friend dying in the blast. Tearing up, she turned to unleash her wrath upon the one who saved her, and let Vinyl die, but he wasn't there, because sitting on a neighboring rooftop, Feather Weight was weeping. > Disruption Part II > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'Spider-Colt: Friend or Foe: Supposed Canterlot Murder' the newspaper said, and with all the ponies grabbing and reading, the populace began to form their opinions about the so-called hero. Some viewed him as a villain, others as a hero to society, and some frankly didn't care about the Spider-Colt, saying that all he did was fight small criminals, which anypony could do. After the events in Canterlot, Featherweight couldn't patrol Ponyville as he used to, sometimes ignoring a crime all together. He felt as if he failed, saving somepony to let another one die. His friends, Pipsqueak and Dinky, knew of what happened to their friend, and felt as though it was their duty to help him. Making his way to the school exit, he heard his name called. "Featherweight," a voice called at him. Turning, he saw that it was both Pipsqueak and Dinky trotting toward him. Stopping, he allowed the two to catch up with him before he began to walk again. "Featherweight, it's not your fault, none of it was your fault," Pipsqueak told him, which Featherweight just shrugged off. It was Dinky's turn to try and convince her friend. "Featherweight, stop," he didn't listen to her, and continued to advance towards the door. Feeling ignored, she fired a spell which froze Feather Weight on the stop, making it impossible to move. "Dinky release me," he said in a low grumble. Moving around, he didn't seem much to Pipsqueak, but Dinky could feel her friend breaking her magic barrier. "Please listen to me that's all," she pleaded. "What happen in Canterlot you didn't cause. You saved Octavias life, and though she may not be grateful now, she will be in the future." "Yea, but Vinyl died in the blaze remember, and I couldn't save her." "Dude they didn't find a body and-" Pipsqueak was cut off by what his friend had to say next. "You weren’t there, Pip. You don't know what I had to do, what I had to react to," he said tearing up, "Both of you don't know how it's like to fail on someone." Breaking Dinkys spell he turned to show his face, a mix of emotions of pain, anger, and sorrow written across his face. Lowering his head, he opened his saddle bag to show his costume, the red and blue outfit folded uneatly. "Tell my aunt I'll be home late again." With that, he galloped out the door, leaving the two friends behind. Pipsqueak, looking at Dinky, couldn't help but laugh, which in turn made her angry. "Why are you laughing!" she cried, her face turning red. "You had the most stupidest face ever, you make it so hard for you not to show you like Featherweight." he cried still laughing to himself. "Shut up!" she said, pushing Pipsqueak into a nearby locker with her magic. Walking away, he got up still laughing. Opening his wings, Featherweight caught the wind which he used to fly upwards onto the roof of the school. Landing, he placed his web shooters under each wing, shooting a web to test each one stability. He put his costume on, and looking down from the roof, put his mask over his face. "Hero time," he said to himself before leaping off the school, pushing his wings against the pressure plates as he launched himself forward, creating a pattern to swing with. It would've been hard, if not for the towering buildings that now dotted the once small village. After Princess Twilight Sparkle’s castle was created, buildings of similar statues were made, making the village into the second largest city in Equestria. Shooting with his right side, he spun around letting a yell out, enjoying his freedom of the air. His spider sense went off as ponies came running out of a nearby store. Landing on a lamppost, he saw the local police force already on the scene, magic and weapons pointed on a figure of a mismatched shape. "Open fire!" he heard one cry, a light show of magic was shot at the figure, who lifted one arm to deflect the incoming energy rays. After firing, the smoke began to clear, and in it Featherweights spider sense went off. A large counter was thrown at the police, and moving quickly he jumped from his perch, firing a web from his left at the counter, with his right side fired at a building. Latching on to the counter, he used his strength to move the counter at the building which he attached himself to. "Spider-Colt, I should've known you done this." a officer yelled at him. In disbelief he shook his head at the one who told him "I just got here and saved you and your buddies life, okay, and you still think I'm the cause behind this." he said whimsically. "Sir, with all due respect, can I squash the bug?" the officer asked his superior. "No, not yet at least. Spider-Colt has done stuff that I'm against, but he has skills that we don't." "Thank you, now if I may," firing a web, he launched himself to the inside of the store. Scanning, he didn't see the figure, and was about to leave when his senses went off. The figure attacked him, barely cutting him on his chest. Landing in front of him, he saw what he was about to fight. A mare with a grey coat, wearing a brown trench coat and dark purple shades. Behind her were four silver-lined robotic arms, two on the ground supporting her, and two dangling in the air. "Spider-Colt, a pleasure to meet you again," she said. "What do you mean again?" he barely finished his sentence as an arm was shot at him again. Curling up, it garbed his hoof, slamming him down into the floor. Dazed, he reacted in time to shoot a glob of web at a tentacle coming at him. Trying to break free, he shot the other one that was coming at him, before shooting the last two sticking the villainess to the floor. Galloping at her, he punched her, knocking her out cold and, using his web, shot her down so if she ever woke up she couldn't move. The officers came inside to see the mess that the short battle had created. Looking at the fallen mare, they turned to face the hero that stopped it. "You did this all by yourself?" an officer asked. "No, Princess Celestia came and helped me. Of course I did!" Featherweight responded. Putting the use of their princess name aside, he held his hoof out, which surprised both his comrades and Featherweight. "Thank you, you saved my stallions lives tonight." Garbing his hoof, he shook it. "No problem," he said. Letting go, he ran out, and, while shooting a web to launch himself, he screamed "I'm just your friendly neighbor Spider-Colt!" > Breakout > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was five days after the attack, of what the public were now calling, Octavian. Ever since then, Featherweights persona, Spider-Colt, received a lot of attention. Some of the citizens began to have a change of heart, seeing how the hero may have been bad mouthed by them. Though only a little of Ponyvilles population thought differently, as a large amount still thought to him as a villain. "The guards had it in their control, I bet, until that web slinger came," said one pony who held a anti-Spider-Colt poster. "Everypony thinks that heroes are great, look at that hero group in Manehatten! They fought and destroyed half of the city!" another said. Though the remarks were harsh, Featherweight still continued to fight crime in his hometown. After fighting with Octavia, he gained a fair amounts of scars, some more visible than others. Luckily though, his aunt never noticed her nephews shape, and to him he wanted it like that. Using her magic to wash and dry dishes, humming to herself, she didn't notice Featherweight crawl in through the chimney. Walking quietly, he almost made it to his room, but not before he was stopped. "I thought I told you to always announce yourself when you enter a room, Featherweight." she told him Looking at her confused, he walked to her, and, lifting a wing, gave her a hug with it. "Hey aunt May." Giving a nod, it signalled to him that he could leave, letting him go attend to the things that he thought needed to be seen. Entering his room, he threw his saddle bag on his bed before sitting down at his desk. On it were various pictures, some he took as the schools newspaper photographer, some of him and his friends, and two pictures, one of him and his parents, the other of his aunt and uncle. Seeing the pictures of his parents and uncle gave Featherweight some unease. It was ten years since his parents disappeared from his life, leaving him with aunt, and only a year of his uncles death, which to him he caused. Putting the pictures aside, he pulled a damaged web shooter from underneath his desk, and, using his wings, pushed himself backwards to get the tools he needed. Beginning to work, he hadn't notice the sun go down, and dark thunderclouds appearing. Ponyville Prison Sector B Prisoner: Octavia Melody Waking up, she opened her eyes to a great bright light. Trying to raise from the cold surface, she couldn't. Some restraints were placed on her, giving her immovability. Looking around, she saw that she was in a white room, her tentacles each separated from one another. Using her mind to try and move them, she couldn't as they were also tied down. Getting into a rage, she moved viciously trying to loosen the leathered ropes around her. "Don't try to my dear, you'll hurt yourself," a voice told her. Walking toward her, a golden orange unicorn, with a notepad and pen in his aura, smiled friendly, before opening his mouth to speak again. "I am Doctor Sunshine, and I'm here to study and analyze you. Now I will loosen your restraints, but you mustn't attack me in any form. I have guards waiting outside if you decide to pull any stunts." He did as he promised, and Octavia decided to keep her end, and didn't attack. The doctor began to question her, asking questions about her early childhood, education, and relationships. Giving the truth, it was going good until it came to her most recent outbreak. When the news of Vinyls death and of Spider-Colt, Octavia felt herself twitching at the names of her friend and enemy. "As I can tell, you destroyed a store in Ponyville and fought Spider-Colt, why?" he asked her. "Doctor I won't lie to you, I did. I wanted to destroy the bug that destroyed my life." Writing the notes down, he looked down at what he wrote, analyzing before asking his next question. "Do you really think that killing Spider-Colt was worth it, you ruined your reputation as Equestrias most beloved musician, all for your friend? Feeling tears roll down her face, she sobbed before giving her answer. "Yes!" she cried to him Getting up, and gathering his notepad with his magic, he turned to walk out of the white room, with Octavia crying out her friend, cursing at Spider-Colt, and begging for a second chance. He laughed, feeling only pity as the doors closed behind him. Looking for a guard to secure the room, he saw none. "Now where can they be?" he asked himself, still walking in the hallways, then they went dark. Strobe lights and a disco ball pattern came from nowhere, shining a new light on the darkened hall. Confused, he continued to walk. Pacing himself carefully, he was soon intercepted by, what seemed to be, a unicorn due to a violet light at the tip of her head. "I believe you have my friend?" she said, walking towards him. He began to walk backwards, nervousness coming in his body. He was about to turn and run, but was cut-off as the unicorn teleported in front of him. "I want to see her now." Octavia was done crying, her eyes aching, and head throbbing with pain. Her life was over as she knew it. No one was coming for her, she would die here and never see the light of day again. Then she heard it, music, but not any music she heard before. It was a certain type, a special one she knew only one mare could create. The music stopped as the doors blasted open, with the music continuing again, and the doctor wobbling from the wreckage. Falling over, she saw a white mare coming behind him, dressed in purple with fishnets on her back hooves, and two futuristic guns on the front. "Hey Octy, long time no see huh?" she asked the shocked mare. Looking at the restraints, she walked towards her. Lifting her guns, she looked at her friend, before giving a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, I made these babies a whole lot better," firing, she shot the locks that were binding her, then preceded to shoot her robotic arms, allowing her to walk on her silver arms once more. "You're alive!" Octavia said, rushing to hug her friend. "Yeah, can say the same to you. I've thought you died in prison after your fiasco with the web slinger, and I heard the entire thing, aren't you a sweetie," she said, mocking her friend. "Well I assume you broke me out to escape." Octavia said, questionably.. "Yes, of course, and I wanted to help you get that bug back, he ruined your life by 'killing' me, and I know you want revenge." Raising herself with her arms, she grabbed her best friend with one before heading out, smashing all equipment in her path. She knew that her new rain of terror on the supposed hero was coming, but this time she'll have help to silence the bug forever.
